I'm an artist and have done many portraits and I really like your style. The thing is, when you're drawing a person or copying a photo you don't necessarily want a perfect reproduction. That would be rather boring and you don't want to be a human xerox machine. I like that your portraits are uniquely yours. That's what makes them interesting. And the feelings you capture are wonderful. Well done you.

Wow, thank you @buffyandhenrietta, what an absolutely lovely message to wake up to. I really appreciate you taking the time to write to me, and I am so humbled by your words. You are right in that each artist has a style of their own - I have always gravitated towards realism, but yes, I do love trying to capture the emotion of a particular moment, and if people believe that I have been successful in doing that in some of my sketches, well that's just the best news this amateur artist could have. 😀

Julia, I'm not sure what happened, but it seems that Cait liked a tweet by WS that trashed shippers and then she deleted? God, that sounds so unlike her doesn't it? Could it possibly be a mistake? It goes against her kindness message in a big way. Can that tweet be what she really believes?

She liked and then unliked a tweet where Shithole called shippers crazy. I don’t really know where I stand on it at the moment. It really fucking stings on the one hand and on the other, like you said, it’s SO out of character for Cait. So I don’t know. I’m gonna give it some time, give my friends who are hurting some love, and cross my fingers she can somehow find a way to repair the hurt it caused.

Social-Media-Challenged river seeks answer(s) to a Serious Question (not asking for a friend)

So, you might know I only (verb) tumblr. I don’t tweet or post elsewhere on social media. Loser

When I post/reblog on Tumblr, I generally go out of my way Weirdo to cover Who What Where When Why How much/many via hashtags. I do it, mostly for my own reference, but also to cut down on the “Who is that?” and “When did that happen?” kind of questions from people who read my original posts and any posts I reblog.

Serious Question: If I hashtag Murtz Fraser because I simply want to identify Murtz Fraser who is pictured or mentioned in the post, is it the same thing as “tagging” Murtz Fraser to get Murtz Fraser’s attention?

In other words, if I post/reblog an SC-shippery creation and identify S and C via hashtags, am I actually inviting their or their representatives’ attention?
