I have very mixed feelings about Xander as a whole. There are moments where I hate his guts. But this is not one of those moments.

God, just thinking about this interaction between him and Dawn seriously makes me want to cry. While I don't have a fantastical life fighting supernatural creatures - or rather, I'm not around anyone who fights supernatural creatures - I have always been a watcher. And no, not that kind of Watcher.

I'm autistic. I observe. I see. I learn. I've always been the person who does things on the sidelines while no one else notices. And I know that role just as important as everyone else's roles, but it's hard!

So seeing Xander say something like that, something so astoundingly profound and heartfelt, just makes me want to bawl. It's the feeling of finally having your efforts be seen after all these years. The feeling of being able to let go and appreciate yourself and say,

"I am extraordinary."
