You took one last look in the mirror. You looked good, you decided. Still, you couldn't help but be nervous as hell. Your stomach felt like it was turning the whole time and, you wanted to change again and spend the evening in bed. Unfortunately, you couldn't, because the charity event tonight was organised by your own mother. She expected you to be there and act like the perfect child. The perfect child, of course, also included the perfect partner, successful and good-looking. And you had this kind of partner until three weeks ago. He broke up with you. He no longer had feelings for you and was falling in love with someone else. He didn't cheat on you, but you were still hurt and had feelings for him. To make it worse, he was a friend of the family and therefore, he will attend the event tonight, most likely accompanied by the person he had fallen in love with.

A glance at the clock told you that your date was late. Of course, you thought. Ji Changmin was a colleague of yours. He was successful and good-looking. However, you didn't like each other very much. He knew everything better and only cared about himself. He probably thought you were bitchy and overbearing. But he was the best choice if you wanted to keep your dignity tonight. Who knows, maybe you could even make your ex jealous and come back to you.

Changmin was 10 minutes late by now. If he's any later, you thought, I certainly won't help him with his project. Convincing Changmin to go to the charity event as your date was kinda damaging for your pride, but he didn't think much of you anyway, so why not try. It probably even gave him satisfaction to see you begging him. Of course, he wanted something in return. He wanted you to help him with his upcoming big project. Not like you don't have enough work on your desk already, you thought.

Finally, the doorbell rang and, you pulled open the door to your apartment. "About time. My mum will kill me if we're any later." He just rolled his eyes and muttered, "Nice to see you too." At his car, he opened the passenger door and let you in. He jogged around the car, got in and drove off. Both of you were silent and, it wasn't a pleasant silence either. Changmin seemed to feel the same way because he cleared his throat and said, "Shall we go through our story again?" "It might make sense!" you sighed and started, "Well, we know each other from the company. Probably the only thing that isn't a lie!" "We used to have lunch together. And I liked you for quite some time, so I mustered up all my courage and asked you out," Changmin continued, his words dripping with mockery. "I was a little surprised, but I agreed. On our first date at an Italian restaurant, we found out that we get along really well and have a lot in common", you continued the story unimpressed by Changmin's behaviour. "Like tennis, for example" "I hate tennis!" you interjected. "Not tonight!" Changmin returned, grinning. "Do you have to make it harder than it already is?" you sighed. "Yep!" Changmin returned cheerfully, "Sometimes it's easier, to tell the truth! You'll learn that tonight!" "Are you threatening me? Listen, if you ruin this tonight, you can forget about my help with your oh-so-great project. And I promise you, your job at the company will feel like hell!" Changmin laughed, obviously not bothered by your threat. "All good. I'll try my best to impress your mother. After all, there are many influential people there tonight." "Are you using me to make new connections?" you asked, shocked. The thought hadn't occurred to you.

Changmin didn't answer any more, because you had arrived. After he parked, he got out and opened the door for you. You took another deep breath before you took his hand, which he held out to you. It was pleasantly warm and warmed your nervous cold hands. His thumb gently stroked the back of your hand as if he had sensed your nervousness.

Shortly after you entered the event hand in hand, your mother floated towards you. She hugged you and gave you a kiss on the cheek. "How nice that you finally found your way here." "Hi Ma, this is Changmin. Changmin, this is my mother." "Nice to meet you! Sorry for being late. Y/N had a bit of an outfit dilemma." said Changmin with a charming smile. Your jaw dropped. Did he really just say that you thought. Your mother paid no attention to you, laughing at Changmin's comment, "Yeah, that's how you know them." "Come along, there's someone over there I want you to meet." She led the way and, Changmin held out his arm for you to hook onto. You took his arm and whispered to him, "What was that all about? You were the one who was late!" "Yep, but that doesn't make a good impression!" he said with a grin. You gave him one last dirty look before putting on your charming smile as you were both introduced to a handful of important people.

After a while, you had a little break from Changmin as he was deep in conversation with some businessman. And then you saw him, your ex. Before you could hide, he had already spotted you and came to you. "Y/N! How nice to see you!" he said and gave you a quick hug. "H-Hi!" you stuttered and were probably already as red as a tomato. "Your mum said you're not here alone?" your ex asked. "Y-yes, um no. I'm here with Changmin. From the company." "Oh really? I always thought you didn't like that guy." "Yeah." you said, laughing nervously, "Turns out he's quite nice." Your ex eyed you sceptically. "And we have a lot in common. Tennis, for example. I love tennis."

Before the conversation could get any more awkward, you felt two arms wrap around you from behind and how someone gently kissed your cheek. "There you are. Shall we go to the buffet?" said Changmin and pulled you closer to him. You were a little speechless and stunned by the sudden closeness to Changmin and only glanced at your ex, who continued to look at you sceptically. Changmin followed your gaze: "Hi, I'm Changmin," he said, but his friendliness seemed fake. Your ex only nodded briefly and turned to leave.

Changmin pulled you towards the buffet and whispered: "My God, that was pathetic. Stuttering around and blushing. Not being able to get a sentence out. Your ex couldn't have been that great." Annoyed, you pushed his arms away from you and stomped to the buffet on your own. Changmin followed you and asked with a grin, "Did I upset you?" Swinging, you turn around and glare at him angrily, "You're a fricking idiot! You don't have to like me ok? But please pretend tonight." You barely managed to stop the tears, turned around and disappeared into the toilet.

Fortunately, no one else was there and Changmin did not follow you. It took a while, but then you felt ready to face the world again. When you left the bathroom, Changmin was standing there, waiting. When he saw you, he came up to you and pulled you into his arms. "Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it." "Yes, you did," you grumbled, but you wrapped your arms around him anyways and returned his embrace. A hug was exactly what you needed right now. And it didn't matter now that the hug came from someone who didn't like you. Changmin gently stroked your back, "How long does your mother expect you to stay here?" "Until the end, I'm afraid!" you sighed. "And what if you're not feeling well?" Before you could answer, your mother came up to you. "Are you all right? Have you been crying?" she asked you when she saw your face. You were about to shake your head when Changmin said, "They're not feeling well. I'll take them home now." "Oh, they shouldn't make such a fuss! I'll get you aspirin and you'll be fine," your mother replied. "It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance, but we're leaving now," Changmin said firmly and pushed you past your mother towards the exit.

The ride home was silent, but this time it was a more comfortable silence. "Thank you!" you whispered barely audibly, but Changmin seemed to have heard because he reached for your hand and his thumb began gently stroking the back of your hand as he did before. A little later, you realised Changmin was driving the wrong way, "Changmin, you should have turned right." "I know, but I'm still hungry and I thought we both deserve a proper meal now," he said, stopping in front of a fast-food restaurant.

Totally overdressed, you went into the restaurant and ordered. While you were eating, you noticed Changmin's hamster cheeks and started giggling. "What is it?" he asked. "You look cute with your hamster cheeks," you said, still giggling. Changmin glared at you, "You're on thin ice. Very thin ice." You laughed even more and, he couldn't help but smile a little too. During the rest of the meal, you had your first real conversation and realised that you actually had some things in common. And it really wasn't tennis. Afterwards, Changmin drove you home and accompanied you to your flat door. When you were standing in front of it, it was kind of awkward. Do you now shake hands or hug each other goodbye? You opened the door and turned to him again: "Thank you very much. I don't know how I would have done it without you today." "No problem. Sorry again. You're not pathetic." You rolled your eyes with a smile, "I know myself that it's high time for me to get over him." "If you need help again, let me know," he said. "Thanks!" you said again and then wrapped your arms around his body and buried your face in his chest. A little hesitantly, he also wrapped his arms around you and gently stroked your back. A little later, he gently kissed your temple. "It will be alright," he murmured as you broke away from each other. You smiled at him one last time and then went inside. Maybe he's not that bad.

Back in the car, Changmin let his head fall down on the steering wheel. He couldn't get the sentence: "You don't have to like me ok? But please pretend tonight. " out of his head. At that moment, he would have liked to reply, "But what if I actually do like you." But no, he had to stand there like an idiot and said nothing.

Putting on the black mask with the golden lining, the two guards in front of you open the giant doors to the ballroom.

The decorations of the ball room made the entire room completely different, the lights reflecting off of the crystals of the chandelier had lit up the entire room, making the once empty, lonely, looking room bright and happy. The room was filled with people in fancy suits and dresses- wearing masks, dancing to the music, eating and enjoying themselves at the standing buffet, talking to other aristocrats or becoming one of the wall flowers.

As you walked past them, they noticed that your dress was old and out of trend. The colours were dulled, and the style was out of date. Immediately all of the aristocrats began to notice that you were a commoner, someone with no status, money or power- which made them click their tongue in disgust, wondering why the emperor would let lowly people such as you into the palace.

Finally spotting the man in the golden mask, you quickly and quietly made your way over to him, ignoring all of the rude whispers about you and dodging all of the dancing aristocrats on the dance floor.

When you reached the man, you didn’t stop to talk- instead, you quickly grabbed onto his hand and dragged him out into the royal garden, past all of the beautiful flowers and into the gazebo in the middle of the garden.

Neither of you talked, as you both stared at each other in silence. 

You reached out your hands to grab his mask and you pulled it off, revealing a handsome face. You caress his face as he does the same for you, revealing your face to him. 

The man- Hyunjae, puts his hand above the one that was on his face. He drags it down so he can hold both of your hands with his bigger ones. 

You both continue to stare at each other in silence. There were no words exchanged in between you too and yet- the both of you understood everything from just looking into each other’s eyes.

“Please,” Hyunjae begins, “please- don’t go.” He begs you. Tears rushing to your eyes as you watched your lover break down in front of you.

Hyunjae, your lover- was the first prince of the empire. He was known to be cold and brave-  someone that won’t even blink when someone is killed in front of him, and yet- here he is on the edge of tears, ready to get on his knees to beg you- a commoner.

“Please,” he continues “I’ll give up everything to be with you, just please don’t leave me here alone.” He kneels on one knee as you freak out, trying to get him to stand back up.  Hyunjae places your hands onto his forehead as he continues to beg.

“I can’t survive in this cold castle alone without you here- so please don’t leave me, I’ll- I’ll do anything!” 

“Your highness,” you begin. “We can’t be together. You should know that best.” You try your best to drag him back onto his feet as you continued.

“We shouldn’t even be talking to each other much less being in a relationship together.” You kneel right be side him, “I’m just a lowly commoner and you- you are the prince of this empire. My life isn’t even worth a single hair on you.” You tell him as tears begin to fall down your cheeks, you get back onto your feet, dusting the dust and dirt that was on your dress.

“I…I’m sorry Hyunjae- or I can’t call you that now, can I, your royal highness, the crown prince.” 

Today’s ball was held to celebrate Hyunjae’s new status of being a crown prince, and it is also the day you know that you wnd him could never be together.

Just as you turn around to leave, Hyunjae holds onto your wrists, and dragging you into his warm embrace, trapping you in his arms.

“Please- I love you!” 

You stood there in shock. 

The crown prince of the empire.

Loved.

You?

Why? When he could have so many other ladies that had higher status then you do, have more power then you do and are more beautiful then you will ever be? 

Why you?

A sudden feeling runs though your body, as you use all of your strength to push Hyunjae away from you before you coughed violently and drops to the floor- red liquid seeping through the cracks of your fingers that you covered your mouth with.

Hyunjae stands in shock as you continue to cough out the crimson red liquid and slowly become weaker and weaker by the second. 

Quickly dropping to his knees after a seconds of processing the situation, Hyunjae brings you to his chest as he screams out for help, and you watch as a guard runs to the two of you and asks what wrong before seeing your blood stained hand and dress. And immediately ran to get a doctor.

As the guard leaves, Hyunjae pours all of his attention to you, asking you questions out of concern and touching your body to check for injuries.

You uncover your mouth, and tears rushes to Hyunjae’s eyes when he sees that your once beautiful pink tinted lips were now covered in a crimson red liquid that dropped down the side of your cheeks. 

Just a couple of hours ago, the emperor had called a meeting with you. He had known about your relationship with a Hyunjae ever since it’s started, but he never interfered because Hyunjae was happy with you. But now that Hyunjae have become a crown prince, the emperor had decided that you and Hyunjae have to go separate ways in order for Hyunjae to get more support from the aristocrats.

But knowing Hyunjae, the both of you know that he would never allow you to break up with him. Understanding that this was Hyunjae’s future and that you were only in the way of Hyunjae becoming something even better, you decided to take your own life for the better future of Hyunjae.

So you took a poison- one that acted slowly but will kill you quickly once the symptoms starts. You knew you had to do it in order for Hyunjae to become the best he could be. You took the poison because you loved him.

You weakly grab onto the sleeve and tugs it, signalling him to bring his ears closer to you.

“I-I’m sorry,” you whisper into his ear, your voice hoarse from all of the blood and coughing, “I-I can’t promise to stay with you,” you take a deep breath as you feel it getting harder and harder to breathe. 

“I-I’m sure you’ll find someone better then what I could ever be. I loved all of the time we spent together, and it’ll be something I’ll never forget”

You weakly smile at him, even though he can’t see as he was looking at the guard running towards them with a person running behind them, holding a briefcase. 

Taking one final breath, you watch him as he rushes the doctor to save you, tears running down his face as he begs you to stay awake. 

“I-I…l-love…” your eyes draw down slowly as your words begin to fade away, your breath running out, “y-you.” You closed your eyes, never to open them again.

“Y-Y/n!” Hyunjae screams out your name, as he taps your checks attempting to wake you up from your eternal sleep.  He looks up to the doctor, his eyes desperate and full of grief.

“Please- please save her! She can’t die like this! She can’t just leave me alone like this!” He grabs onto the doctor's hands begging him on his knees, throwing away his pride as the crown prince. “Please! I’ll do anything, I’ll give you anything! Just please- get her back to me!” 

By now, a crowd of people had gathered around the gazebo watching as the newly named crown prince begs on his knees for the doctor to save the dead commercial women n his arms.

The doctor checks your pulse, but he shakes his head. Telling Hyunjae that there was nothing he could do to save you as your pulse had already stopped- you were dead.

Hyunjae couldn’t help but break down completely under the watch of his siblings, aristocrats, commoners and the most important person in the empire,

his father, the emperor.

hi there!! first of all, i am so blessed that my writing helped to get you into the boyz!! welcome to the fandom new deobi 🥳💜here are my show recommendations, they’re on a lot of shows but these are just my personal favourites (feel free to ask for more if you need!):

their pre-debut reality show called “flower snacks” is a good place to start if you haven’t already seen it! they make a restaurant and make all the food and drinks themselves, it’s really fun and helped me get into the members when i started stanning. every episode can be found with english subs on youtube! the first episode is here

i personally love their reality series called “come on! the boyz summer vacation”, it’s literally so funny and loads of compilations have been made out of it. they basically go on summer holidays and do funny tasks to earn money to spend on food and stuff. the boyz are game idols through and through! this can also be found with english subs on youtube, all episodes can be found compiled into a 3 hour long video here (i think this was during giddy up era)

their show “come on! the boyz school” is another one of my personal favourite variety shows they did. the concept is that the boyz become professors of online classes and teach funny things like rap, how to take selfies, and all kinds of other things to show off their charms. one or two members teach and the others become students. trust me, you don’t want to miss this! all episodes can be found with english subs on youtube, the first episode is here (no air era)

their episode on “idol lunchbox” is so funny, i’m sure you’ll really enjoy it! in order to eat food at a buffet, the members split up into teams and complete funny tasks so they can earn plates to fill their food up with. you can watch it with english subs on vlive here (during bloom bloom era)

the boyz were also on “school attack”, where they surprise a school and sneak in to complete missions before performing for the students there! you can find it with english subs on youtube here (also bloom bloom era)

they appeared on “hidden track” which is a show where they promoted their song reveal, sang karaoke and answered some funny questions. you can find it with english subs here (reveal era, bonus points for kevin twerking)

they appeared on “dolympiad” which is a reality show where they complete lots of tasks and tests as a team. it’s super funny, it’s the most recent variety show they did and there are so many hilarious moments. the first episode (and all other episodes) can be found with english subs on youtube here (checkmate era/right before the stealer era)

the boyz english line were recently on eric nam’s english podcast “kpop daebak”, which gets uploaded fully onto youtube. eric’s individual podcast can be found here, kevin’s can be found here, jacob’s can be found here, and the one they all three did together can be found here! it’s seriously so funny, you should definitely watch those. Chapter 16 of SFV

Chapter 16 - Day 2: The Hailstorm

(still Nov. 19, 10:45pm)

The Stoppable-mobile pulled back to the hotel as the gravy-soaked Kim parked it in the parking spot and putting it in gear.

"Ron, we are going to leave early tomorrow." Kim said, hiding her frustrations on how Day 1 of the vacation went.

"How early are we talking about, KS?" Ron asked.

"We are talking super early, like, at 8am. So I want everyone to be up by 5:30am." Kim instructed her family. "Is that clear?"

"Yes, ma'am!" came the unison reply from the other three Stoppable family members. Rufus also nodded his head.

"What about Mary and Canna?" Ron asked, pointing to the camper.

"I will have to keep a close eye on them, especially Canna." Kim said as she unbuckled her seat belt. She got out of the van, followed by Ron, Rufus, and the kids.

As they closed the doors to the Stoppable-mobile. Ron was then reminded of something.

"Oh, Kim! I forgot that I dropped my set of keys in the car." he said while walking back to the van.

Kim then remembered that the driver's door lock was rendered useless due to the fact that she used her GJ-issue laser lipstick on the vehicle earlier to rescue Justin.

Turning behind, Kim exclaimed, "Ron! Don't open the car! You might activate the..."

And as Ron opened the door, loud noises emitted from the Stoppable-mobile.

"...car alarm!" Kim groaned at Ron's forgetfulness. He had activated the worst part of the vehicle.

The alarm was so loud that it even awoke some of the other hotel guests who were sleeping.

"Can you shut the damn thing up?" one female guest asked. "It's annoying!"

"I'm trying to sleep here!" exclaimed a male guest from the second floor.

Kim replied to the guests while covering her ears. The other Stoppables, plus Mary and Canna, also did the same. Canna was also chewing on tobacco and spitting it out in her empty water bottle.

"Don't worry! I'll get to it!"

She took a baseball bat that they packed for Justin to play with at the Lipskys and started to beat on the hood, for that was where the alarm was it. This motion caused the right strap of her leather overalls to slip from her shoulder again

"Shut the hell up, you stupid damn alarm!" Kim shouted, hammering at least five dents in the hood and in the quarter fender before it finally stopped. A distant thunder was heard.

"Thank you!" the redhead exclaimed, taking a deep breath. Seeing that the right strap has slipped off again, Kim decided not to fight it and unhooked the overalls strap instead.

"Now...if you don't mind, I'm going to get the lemon squares that Ron made for the Thanksgiving dinner for the Lipskys into the suite's fridge." Kim replied, getting Nana's most important, and treasured, heirloom from the van and into her hotel room. There were 16 lemon squares total that she had brought in.

"I got the keys, KS!" Ron exclaimed while grabbing his keys and closed the door to the van.

"Now...let's all get back to sleep and have a peaceful sleepy night!" she then insisted to the guests. They all turned out their lights.

Thunder also began to rumble , closer to their area.

(11:30pm)

After taking a shower, Kim was now finally out of her gravy-colored overalls and shirt and now in her husband's Middleton High football jersey that barely covered her breasts and Club Banana boxers. She only had panties underneath the boxers and was wearing her glasses. This was considered her usual night wear.

The kids, in the meantime, were asleep on the pullout couch as was Rufus.

She was also playing on her tablet while watching an old episode of the Dr. Zone Files on the TV. It was the episode where Time Ape was captured by the Statues of Windsor, where one looked at them, they would become frozen forever.

This was when she got out her KP Kimmunicator Pendant to get with Wade. The now 22-year old tech whiz of Team Delta at Global Justice appeared in a hologram form.

"Hey, Kim!" he said with a smile, "It's getting kinda late here."

"Hey, Wade! I know." Kim said with a smile, "How's Ken holding down the fort?" She was speaking of one of her fellow team-mates on the Team Delta squad, Ken Trepid.

"Him? He's doing fine! Stopped a few robberies with the help of Slam." Wade replied with a smile. How's the first day of the Stoppable vacation?"

Kim groaned, "Ugh...here's my verdict on this sitch!" She then gave a thumbs down.

"Stoppable Vacation Curse got in the way?" she asked.

"So far, Ron almost accidentally locked Justin in the van...again..., we had bird poop on the van, plus the quote-en-quote fun times with the Bumblebees thing of me ripping my overalls, and us getting banned from the local Smarty-mart here due to crazy vegans that we have as relatives!" Kim explained all of the incidents they've had on Day 1 of the trip.

"Not a very good start, huh?" Wade replied with compassion, "Hopefully, things'll get better! I'll catch you up in a couple of days."

"Okay, Wade, get some rest now." Kim suggested.

"Oh, and one other thing and don't tell anyone this but...I got a special surprise for Joss when we get to the Lipskys." Wade said with a whisper, "But don't let her know about it!"

"Lips are so zipped!" Kim said while zipping her lips with her fingers.

"Night, Kim!" Wade said as the hologram of him disappeared.

Ron, in his pajamas and bunny slippers, looked out the window.

"This doesn't look good, KS." he said.

"What is it this time, Ron?" Kim asked, rolling her eyes.

"The storm's on the horizon!" Ron replied, "You might wanna check the NWS."

Kim checked the NWS on her tablet. There was a lot of orange and red headed towards North Platte.

"Ewwww..." she remarked, "...you're right on that front."

"Should we warn the kids?" Ron asked.

"Yeah, I think we should if a Severe Thuderstorm Warning or, God forbid, a Tornado Warning is issued!" Kim said,. "Alexa is much more scared of even regular thunderstorms than Justin is. So I'd hate to see how she fares with this sitch of a storm."

"I understand, KS." Ron replied before switching to the other important thing. "What are we going to do for breakfast though?"

Kim simply pulled out the hotel info and said, "The hotel has a restaurant on the premises that opens up at 6. We can eat the buffet there and then check out at 8. Simple!"

"You make everything sound so easy!" Ron replied, cracking a smile.

"I do, Ron!" Kim giggled. She also got out her planner and stylus pen. "Now...how should I wear my overalls for tomorrow?"

"Which ones are you going to wear?" Ron questioned Kim's denim fashion sense.

"The Club Banana flare ones." Kim replied.

"What is the difference between those and the baggy ones you packed?" Ron asked.

"Two reasons, Ron." Kim said. "The first is that they have the zippers on the side instead of the side buttons and the second is that, if I do wear them with the bib down, which I certainly will, they won't fall down on me as long as the zippers stay up unlike the baggy ones which require a belt."

"I'd say to go with the one-strap up approach." Ron replied.

"And then..." he smirked, playfully lowering his wife's boxers, "...go for both!"

"And I have the perfect way to style a button-down shirt to go along with it!" Kim replied with a grin.

"What about the Oh Boyz Concert?" Ron asked.

"Oh that? I'm definitely going with a belt for that one!" Kim said. "That's the one I planned to wear the manipulated buckles one."

"Good thing that I didn't get the lowest score in the Oh-Boyz challenge!" Ron chortled.

"Jason is gonna be the unlucky one who has to stare at Tara's bare ass for that moment once they get on the stage." Kim grinned.

"The poor, poor sap!" Ron snorted at the fate of his ex-Mad Dog football team-mate.

Kim looked at the alarm clock and it read 11:50pm.

"We gotta get to bed now, Ron." she said, resting her head on the pillow. "We got a long drive ahead of us tomorrow."

"Way ahaead of ya, Kim!" Ron replied, doing the same.

Kim turned out the lights and both the hero duo...and husband and wife...closed their eyes and went to sleep.

(12:45am)

A sudden thud was heard from the ceiling above. And then another...and another...and another! The thunder was booming loudly and lightning flashed from their window.

This woke Ron up from his sleep. Kim, however, was still deeply asleep.

"Huh...what's going on here?" he asked half-groggily. Ron's eyes were half-asleep. "Has Mr. Barkin been turned into a gill monster?"

Rufus was also stirred awake by the storm. At the time, he was the only one that was fully alert and awake. He was chittering loudly in fear to his owner.

"Rufus...the Bueno Nacho dining room is closed at this time." Ron muttered, "Can't you go back to sleep?"

Rufus grunted and pointed to a blaring message on his smart phone. He pointed to the obvious red glaring message on it.

Ron grabbed his smartphone and, all of a sudden, his eyes were wide awake.

"KS! KS! Wake up now!" he exclaimed, rushing to his wife's side of the hotel bed.

"Ron...why are you up?" Kim uttered, "It's almost 1 in the morning...go to bed?"

"How can I go to bed when we got a TORNADO WARNING!" Ron screamed the last two words.

Kim was jolted awake by what her husband said and exclaimed, "Oh my God! Ron! We have to The kids!

The thunder and hail was getting to be louder and louder. Justin and Alexa rushed into their parents room.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Alexa exclaimed in tears, "The thunder monster is out there!"

"I'm totally scared!" Justin whimpered.

"Everyone! To the bathroom!" Kim exclaimed, pointing at the bathroom, the only interior area of their hotel room without any windows.

Ron grabbed his smartphone and he, his wife, Rufus, and the Stoppable kids all scurried into the hotel bathroom.

He tapped his phone on the Tornado Warning issued for the NWS.

"The NWS has issued a Tornado Warning for the counties of Lincoln and Perkins counties until 1:45am. At 12:29am, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was spotted about 10 miles south of North Platte moving northeast at 40 mph. This storm is also capable of producing baseball-sized hail..."

"Wait..." Kim gasped. "...baseball-sized hail?!"

"That's what the report said, KS." Ron said while pointing to the report.

"Oh great..." Kim muttered, "We're going to have to check on the damage of the Stoppable-mobile once all this stuff passes."

All the Stoppables could do was to sigh in despair as the sheets of rain and hail continued to pound against the hotel, and against their poor 20-year plus old minivan.

It wasn't until around 2:30am that the storm finally subsided and the Stoppable family can finally return to their beds.

Faking It (Grayson) Part 8/10

Summary: Your bestfriend Grayson is attending a relative’s wedding and he needs you to act as his girlfriend. Cue lots of pining from both your sides, smug looks from Ethan and their family pressuring you into marriage and babies. Word Count: 1,658 Warnings: None. A/N: We’re nearing the end, my friends. You were shocked, frozen in your place as he pulled away from the kiss. It had been chaste but it went on for long enough for you to feel it all over your body. You opened your eyes as Grayson pulled away, feeling all kinds of emotions as you stared into his eyes.

You would probably have blushed at the way his relatives in the back were awwing and marveling at how cute you both looked, but you were too busy struggling with your feelings and sorting out the thoughts swirling in your mind.

Grayson looked at you, lips pulling into a smile as he slipped his hand into yours, beckoning for you to take the last step of the staircase. You felt disoriented as you got guided through the hallway to put on your shoes. As you bent down to pull on your boots, you looked around for Ethan but couldn’t find him anywhere.

As you stepped out, you saw him get into the car along with Lisa, Sean, Lily and Cameron. Grayson soon came out of the house, putting a hand on your back to guide you along to his rental car that he had parket up on the driveway.

It was quiet the whole car ride, expect for Timothy and one of Gray’s other uncles, Leonard talking in the back. You tuned them out, trying not to feel confused by the whole situation but you couldn’t help it. You didn’t know what to feel, you didn’t know if that kiss was just for show or if he kissed you because he truly liked you the way you liked him.

You glanced at Grayson who had his eyes on the road, not showing any kind of emotion on his face as he drove and it confused you. So much so, that you started to develop a headache.

The venue was beautiful and you arrived at the same time as everybody else did, everyone changing into fancier shoes and walking into the venue where the wedding reception would be held. You stared in awe, walking slowly as you took in the hundreds of fairy lights hung up on the roof and the tables that each contained the usual cutlery, along with bouquets and nicely folded napkins.

“This is beautiful.” Cameron said as she sidled up beside you, looking like she was in just as much awe as you were.

You smiled, “Simplicity at its best.”

She hummed in response, walking over to the buffet to get her hands on whatever she could find. You watched her with a humored smile, thinking of how funny she looked as he squeezed inbetween the tiny kids to get to the food.

“Cupcake,” You heard a voice behind you and you twirled around, finding Grayson looking at you with a wide smile on his face. “Wanna dance?”

Just then, you noticed the music that had been playing, looking around the venue like you were trying to locate the speakers. Grayson took your hand as you nodded, leading you out on the dancefloor where a few people were already dancing, a few kids trying to dance as slowly as the music was going, failing adorably. You felt Grayson raise your intertwined hands up while sliding his other free hand around your waist. You put yours on his shoulder and looked up at him, trying to figure out what was going through his mind. Was he just as confused as you? Was he just stringing you along? Did he only do this for show? You were, after all, still girlfriend and boyfriend to his family.

Grayson looked at you, eyes roaming your face.

“What?” He asked quietly with a small laugh.

“I’m just a bit confused...” You started and then paused, wondering if you actually wanted to ask him. Then you decided that it was necessary. “That kiss... It’s, it just.. I don’t know.”

Great, you were stuttering. Grayson pulled you closer and you placed your cheek against his shoulder, feeling his cheek rest against the side of your head.

“They bought it, it was great.” He murmured and you stiffened, pulling back slightly to look at him.

At first you thought you’d heard him wrong, that it was just all a sick joke. But the look on his face told you otherwise. The kiss had been all for show. It hadn’t been real like you thought. You suddenly felt disappointment hit you like a wave, feeling foolish that you actually fell for it, that you let yourself believe that it was more than it actually was. You and Grayson would never be anything but friends.

“Y/N?” He asked, confusion all over his face. “What’s wrong?”

Before you had time to respond, you saw dainty, nicely manicured fingers tap his shoulder and you both turned, the owner of the fingers coming into view. She was just as beautiful upclose and every ounce of confidence you had felt an hour ago just flew out the window as you looked at her. Her eyes were almost sparkling, how was that even possible?

“Gray!” She said and you almost recoiled at her sickly sweet tone. “There you are. Look at you, so handsome.”

You loosened your hold on Grayson’s hand, not knowing what to do. She turned to you, flashing you her perfectly white teeth at you.

“And this must be the girlfriend.” She said and you refrained from glaring at her, feeling sick to your stomach as she looked at you like you were dirt stuck under her shoe. “I’m Isabelle, nice to meet you.”

You nodded, feeling your mouth dry up as Grayson looked at you. He looked conflicted, panic showing in his eyes, so you shot her a smile and took her outstretched hand in yours, shaking it.

“Y/N. The girlfriend.” You smiled and she wrinkled her nose discreetly, dropping your hand and putting it on Grayson’s arm.

His eyes shifted over to you, but you were too focused on her hand that was holding his arm to even acknowledge his facial expressions.

“Mind if I borrow your man for a dance?” She asked and before you could answer her, she had pulled him along, further away to the dancefloor.

You watched them go, feeling embarrassed that you were left standing alone. And to make it worse, the song switched to a more intimate one. Boyz II Men. Great, you thought, trying not to roll your eyes.

“So I guess you’re free to dance with me, then?” You heard someone ask behind you and you turned around, looking at Ethan who was staring right back at you. “I promise I won’t step on your feet. Wait, no. I take that back. I promise I will try not to step on your feet.”

You laughed wetly, willing yourself not to blink so you wouldn’t ruin your makeup. Ethan gave you a soft smile, bringing you in close to him with the help of his hands. He wrapped one arm around you, the other taking yours to hold close to his chest. You sniffled, placing your cheek against his chest as he started swaying along to the music playing in the venue.

“My brother is a fool.” Ethan whispered quietly into your hair. You let your eyes weep across the dancefloor, closing them when you caught sight of Grayson’s smile as he swayed along with Isabelle a few feet away.

You sniffled into his chest, feeling him squeeze your hand in response.

“I guess I am, too.” He whispered quietly like he was telling you a secret and you frowned in confusion.

You blinked your eyes open, pulling back slightly to look at him.

“What do you mean?” You asked, not really sure what he was trying to tell you.

Ethan stopped swaying all together, meeting your eyes steadily and you grew worried when you felt the hand he was holding you in, start to sweat.

“Y/N.. I - “

“Ethan, my boy, mind if I cut in?” Sean interrupted him before he could talk any further and you wanted to turn around and scream at him to come back later to ask you. Just so you could hear what Ethan had to say.

Your eyes didn’t leave Ethan’s face as he nodded toward his father, handing you over with a gentle smile. He walked off to the side and you stopped yourself from frowning in confusion and frustration.

“You look beautiful tonight, darling.” Sean complimented you and you focused your eyes on his smiling face, giving him a shy smile.

“Thank you.” You thanked him, suddenly feeling awkward.

“Grayson is lucky to have you.” He went on and you felt your chin shake, determined not to let your smile slip off at the mention of Grayson.

The rehearsal went beautifully. After a lot of mingling and dancing, you had sat down and the best men and brides maids had all given their speeches. There had been sniffling and laughter going through the small crowd. And despite everything that had happened earlier, you felt happy just watching Tim and Lola being so head over heels for each other.

Watching them made you wonder if you would ever experience the kind of love they had for each other.

That night, when you all had gotten home safe and soundly, you retreated to your rooms. Everyone was buzzing from the champagne they had had, along with pre-wedding jitters. It was understandable, this whole week had been leading up to the wedding and tomorrow it was happening.

You scratched the back of your neck with your fingers as you walked into the room, feeling drained from being on your heels all day and having so much to think about.

Grayson entered the room a few minutes later, looking conflicted and torn. You frowned as he closed the door behind himself, meeting your eyes.

“Gray?” You asked in confusion. “What happened?”

“Y/N, we need to talk.”
