Future Card Buddyfight Verse : The origins of Graymark

the history behind the monsters in Legend World who reside on the island of Graymark are aligned with darkness & tragedy .  with how unstable & vicious the monsters are —— no human has become buddy’s with any of its residents .  

long ago , a deity who went by the name of Y , created an island in Legend World with the intent of it being the birth place of their kin . it was a fresh start from their previous attempt that ended in extinction . Y spent many years on this island alone to make sure things went right this time around . it was a barren wasteland at this time . vegetation , ecosystems — any signs of life was still yet to come , but they felt they needed to familiarize themselves with the land where they would birth strong monsters .

after many years had past & some ounce of life began to emerge in forms of forests & vast grassy fields , Y gave birth to their first child — Bear . he was a deity like Y , but had a physical form . Y had to take many temporary bodies over the years when their host would age & die , as they were more or less an entity than a physical monster . as such , Y didn’t have a single appearance , but many . at the time of Bears birth , Y took on a humanoid appearance . it wasn’t long before Bear grew to his full size , with the appearance of a young adult male — but with features that didn’t resemble that of Y’s host . an oddity , but it was something to be expected .

leaving Bear to venture the land & familiarize himself with his new home — Y continued to bring him gifts in the form of life . other monsters , humanoid & other various forms , began to inhabit the large island . soon enough , the land was given the name of Graymark & all it’s inhabitants lived in peace for many years till the sudden disappearance of the De Anecdote family during one of the most crucial times .

a dispute among the 6 Elders who watched over Graymark as the governing figures argued on who was fit to become the king . history wasn’t going to repeat itself so long as Y could stop it . the ones who were to be the rightful kings were the De Anecdote family & no one else — as the rest were susceptible to indulging in power once they got a taste . but then something happened all so suddenly . just as a declaration of war was discussed , the De Anecdote family went into hiding to never remerge again . the only solution the 6 Elders saw was to have a war answer their questions & so it begun .  the war lasted 800 years & was dubbed The Void War .

eventually the war came to an end . it was for the best as many had lost their lives — including the likes of Bear & many of his descendants . by the time things had settled hundreds of years passed & the Bear family bloodline had dwindle to mere fragments of what it used to be . no longer was the name Bear associated with power & strength , but a legend only few remember & those that did only see the Bears as nothing but horrible , tactless beasts . his family were very strong & fought hundreds of monsters with the numbers stacked against them . at this point , Y disguised themselves as their offspring with each body transfer they did over the years . finally the 6 Elders came back together & agreed on splitting Graymark into 6 regions known as Blocks where each Elder held their own laws . their problems weren’t solved just by splitting Graymark into 6 regions , so a new solution — suggested by one of the 6 Elders , the Hasburgs family head , was given to finally create a safer environment for the citizens of Graymark .

a cruel law was put into place to strike fear into the monsters of Graymark after a vote amongst the 6 elders . anyone who commits a crime of any kind — no matter how big or small , must be executed on the spot without trial or discussion . of course such a law would be hard to accomplish with just the Elders alone , so they decided to appoint strong monsters certain places in Graymark to look over . splitting the large island into 6 Blocks using tall walls to separate these sections , with the empty places left to be a lawless wasteland — monsters known as Administrators & their team of Gatekeepers made up those who would deliver this cruel punishment .

it goes without saying , this law has created great tension in Graymark & with how unstable it is , no monster has become buddy’s with a human on earth — let alone left the island . but the tide was ready to finally turn . a monster with unknown origins emerged & signified the coming of the Promise Day .

About my ocs!

I love making and thinking about new ocs, I’ll create an oc for just about every special interest I get. I’m always thinking creatively and trying to do my best to give proper reputation in characters.

I have characters who are Neurodivergent or LGBTQIA+ or both. I want to keep the creative mind going and try to make a character who other people can relate too.

I love doing oc x canon ships, so expect a lot of those. I’ve been making oc x canon ships for a long time, it another one of my special interests, I have so much fun doing it! And I love thinking about those characters and how they interact.
