Help, i fell down a Marvel rabbit hole.

So the Endgame dilemma with Steve's decision had me thinking about other 'happy places' for Bucky and of course there's the obvious with Sam after TFWS but can we just for a minute think about Bucky maybe refreshing something nice from his time in recovery in Wakanda?

I found not a lot of fics but the thought of Bucky getting back there and kinda warming up with M'Baku again? This pairing just has something to me, especially with the whole grumpy but secretly subby White Wolf meets sarcastic domineering great Gorilla M'Baku...

Why would I help, lmao? I'm at the bottom of a very similar hole. The more the marrier! Welcome to the trash pile 💀💀

All good options, all good options, but I will say, anon, I welcome you to fully embrace the exhilarating option of: completely ignoring the events of Endgame.

As captivating as the idea of subby white wolf and domineering gorilla M'Baku is 😮‍💨... as much as I love all the ship content that has come out of Sebastian's and Mackie's banter as Bucky and Sam... I am weak for stucky. It's 🤌🏻everything about them🤌🏻 The childhood best friends to lovers, the wartime sweethearts, the going against the whole world for each other, the dying for each other, the living for each other.

Okay, so I'm laying my cards fully on the table to say that I hate Endgame, explaining why I like to ignore it. And with that being said, here are some anti-Endgame (some of them also straight up anti-steggy/anti-peggy) related metas that I find thought-provoking that I think you might, too. Clint Barton and his wife Laura couldn’t believe how many people had gotten in touch over the past twenty-four hours to see if it were too late to accept their invitation to spend Christmas Eve at their home. The RSVPs came flooding in between the time Clint had left Natasha’s apartment yesterday and this morning, which was December twenty-fourth. Prior to that, only Bruce, Tony, Strange, and one other had accepted. When he had climbed into the family SUV at the airport last night, Laura had told her husband that she had heard from Thor.

“Where the hell has he been for the past year?” Clint had asked as Laura drove toward the highway onramp.

“We’ll find out tomorrow when he arrives … with Bruce. Pretty sure they’re together.” 

This piece of news had Clint raising an eyebrow, but he opted to let it slide for the moment.

Once they were home, their fourteen-year-old daughter Lila excitedly announced, “Aunt Nat is coming tomorrow! She’s bringing Bucky and his friend M’Baku.”

“Oh, yeah,” said their sixteen-year-old son Cooper, who had previously overheard his parents talk about Bucky and M’Baku. “They’re more than friends. Probably just means they haven’t DTR’d yet.”

“What does DTR mean?” asked eight-year-old Nate, who was named after his aunt Natasha and was the youngest Barton child.

“Define the relationship,” Laura explained to him. She looked at each member of her family in turn. “This is a good thing for Bucky. So, no one pushes or prods or says stupid things, got it?”

This is about your M'baku/T'challa/Bucky fic its one of my favorite fics and i had a question have you seen a lot of hate for this ship in other fics that have this ship ? Also I just want to say i am confused by what people are talking about and i wanted to show my support and the comments weren't allowed given those circumstances I can understand why but I still wanted to show my appreciation for the work

I've searched for other M'baku/T'challa/Bucky stories but there are only 8, mine included and none of them has this kind of hate. I asked a friend to repost the story, just with other names. It's Steve/Thor/Loki and no one, not a single person complained aobut the smut being awful or anything like that. The only things I changed were the names, the locations and the fact that Loki has longish hair, the rest is exactly the same. Nothing. Link is here.

I actually deleted the worst slurs people sent me and I even asked AO3 support if the story is okay the way it is and they told me there's nothing wrong with it since it's properly tagged and all that.

But I'm glad that there are still people who love this story. It really means a lot to me because it was fun to write and I still love it. So, thank you! Thank you so, so much!! 🥰🥰🥰

He hadn't meant to admit those particular feelings, particularly to T'Challa. "Did you just say you love him?" T'Challa exclaimed, gaping at him. "I thought it was just..." "Just sex?" M'Baku muttered with a half-shrug. "It is... to him." "...but not to you," T'Challa murmured, looking more worried than M'Baku had expected. "No, not to me," he agreed with a sigh. ...or: that time Bucky and M'Baku gave friends with benefits a fair shot and discovered everything they needed in each other.

My thoughts: This is a glorious read. There's great world building. The way the relationship between Bucky and M'Baku is written is brilliantly done, it feels really believeable. The relationships as a whole are all fantastically done. It's just a glorious read.
