B-u-c-k-y? Bucky
Pairings: father!Bucky Barnes x child!reader, featuring Steve Rogers x child!reader and Tony Stark x child!reader (all platonic)
Imagine: The beginning of your relationship with your father and a glimpse at the progress
Warnings: angst, fluff, mention of Hydra, mention of child mistreatment, mention of experiments, reader describes as tiny to clarify more that hydra treated them bad, mention of medical equipment such as syringes, not proofread, if you find anything else please tell me
A/N so donât know where this came from but I havenât been able to write something in months so Iâm just happy to be able to write again hopefully, donât know if I like it or not but here we go anyway enjoy
Kinda short, dunno about 2000 words or so
might make more parts to this
Sparks lit up the dark corridor as Bucky and Steve walked down the stairs to be met with red lights flashing above each door as the alarms blasted their annoyingly high pitched sound that made your ears ring afterwards. One look at each other, they gave a nod and split up as they took one side each of the corridor.
The first room Bucky opened was filled with cabinets made of plastic and in each was different kinds of test tubes with what looked like some kind of poisonous liquid. Syringes were spread out over the desks neatly. Bucky felt chills run down his spine as he saw the hospital bed (or more like a table with white a quilt?) in the middle of the room. Handcuffs made to restrain a person laid neatly on the bed. Blood covering the sides of the bed and his mind went back to 1945, when Arnim Zola experimented on him. Which had coincidentally also been at a hydra base. His gun raised as he searched the room for any kind of lifeforms, when he found none he went on to the next door.
This continued for at least five more doors, some of them being lab rooms and some what looked like prison cells fortified with extra protection, meaning whoever had once been inside couldnât have fled on their own.
When he opened the sixth door, Bucky scanned the room and had it not been for the red lights flashing once in a while and the lamp that flickered out a dull light he would've missed the tiny child in the room. Knees pressed to their chest. Hospital gown clinging to their skin from blood and cold sweat. The room had cold chills and even for Bucky who tolerated the cold more than others he could feel the freezing temperature in the room. He lowered his gun and put on the softest expression he could muster during these circumstances. Bucky glanced out the door and yelled out with a soft voice (to not startle the child) once for Steve, Buckyâs gaze not soon after fell back to the quivering child, that was you, who stared at him with wide scared eyes.
Bucky took a careful step towards you as he kneeled down slightly to put his gun onto the floor. He gave you what was supposed to look like a kind smile but looked more like a grimace as he thought about what you must have been through. As soon as you saw Bucky coming closer he watched as dark blue smoke covered your tiny frame and not a second after you were gone. Bucky stopped in his tracks and looked around the room for you. His eyes fell on the coroner farthest away from him. You had covered your ears with your hands and your eyes were shut. Your body was tense and knees still pressed to your chest as you quivered further into the corner. Bucky stayed in place not knowing entirely what to do. At that moment he saw Steve walk through the door sparing a glance towards you before back at Bucky his shield raised as they both heard people run their way. With a sigh from Bucky they both left you for the time being as Hydra soldiers started to fill the end of the corridor.
As soon as you heard the sound of shots (your hands not able to muffle out the sounds that came right outside of the room you resided in) die down you opened your eyes. You watched with curious eyes as Bucky (not that you knew his name) walked into the room once more. Like before he put his gun down and gave you a kind smile, this time his hand slowly reached out for you. He watched as you pressed yourself girder into the corner as you stared at his hand.
âhey, hey, okay, itâs okayâ Bucky raised both his hands into the air to show he meant no harm as he cautiously took another step closer. âI wonât hurt youâ Steve watched from the door opening as Bucky interacted with you. His gaze shifted to the metal objects (or what looked like toys for children) in the room that had started to slightly hover over the ground, including Buckyâs gun.
Buckyâs eyes glanced towards the hovering objects and was a tiny bit glad that you hadnât done anything to his left arm. âWhat's your name?â he let out a sigh as you didn't answer knowing you probably wouldn't answer anything he asked you, hell he didnât even know if you could understand him. His head tilted slightly as he took slow steps forward until he knelt in front of you. The metal objects (except his arm) are rising higher into the air.
âare you alright, you hurt?â He said clearly as he watched you start to pick at the side of your arm where blood was running down onto your hospital gown. He watched as you picked at multiple wounds, some of them he could clearly see were from syringes and his eyes saddened. Both Bucky and Steve watched as you pressed yourself deeper into the corner, as you tried to hide the many bruises that littered your body.
âcan I-we help you, can you let us help you out of here?â Bucky gestured with his hand to him and Steve as he said the word us. Once more he didnât get a verbal answer but instead he got you to move out of the corner slightly. Bucky held his hand out to you once more and watched as you carefully placed your tiny hand in his much bigger one. He couldnât help but to give a soft smile once more towards you.
"Can you walk?â And yet again there was no answer. Bucky looked at you with an uncertain expression as you stood up. Your body swaying from side to side. He carefully and slowly to make sure you could stop him if you wanted to, took you into his arms. Making sure you wouldnât fall he stood up straight and started to walk towards Steve who smiled slightly at Bucky as he watched you shut your eyes and bury your head into his chest. The metal objects all crashed to the ground with a loud clatter of noise in various directions.
This had all been four months ago and Bucky had finally started to get you to trust him enough for you to let him teach you how to talk, write and read. By now you also trusted the rest of the avengers enough so that you wouldnât try to hide from all of them except Steve (excluding Bucky). Tony would most days let you sit beside him as he made new iron man suits and at some time along the way heâd let you help him by using your powers to bend a metal the way he wanted it to be. This would in the end result in you running up to Bucky proud of your accomplishments and for Bucky to ruffle your hair and tell you how proud he was. These interactions with Tony also led to you having more control over your powers at least one of them. You still tended to teleport yourself unintentionally to the other side of the room if you were scared.
Today it just so happened that Bucky held another lesson with you to help you speak. So far you were able to say yes and no and some other basic things such as âhungryâ and âtiredâ. However even though you were starting to learn you still most of the time stuck to being nonverbal and only shook your head yes or no or shrugged your shoulders when you didnât know.
At this moment Bucky had tried to teach you to say his name and so far your tries had been good but as he knew you were a slow learner which he realized the first time he started to teach you, he knew you wouldn't be getting his name right in a while. For Bucky however this was just a minor setback as he felt he had to teach you everything after all as it so happened he was your father.
As soon as you had gotten to the Avengers base they tried to find out if you had any family that had filed a missing childâs report and to know what your name was as you refused to speak (them not knowing you didnât know how to). Bucky had to promise you that he would be there for every test they did to you to make sure you were as healthy as you could be at that moment for you to let them be near you with any medical devices. As it turned out Hydra had somehow created you from Buckyâs DNA meaning he was listed as the father in the old Htdra records they found at the Hydra base they had attacked. They had also found out that you were around 8-9 years old. There wasnât a specific date listed anywhere on when your birthday was, only what year you were born. This had shocked all of the heroes as they by the way you looked were way younger. All the more information they gained only made Bucky feel more guilty. Even if he didnât know about your existence he still felt guilty over the things you had suffered with Hydra. The fact that you looked so much younger made him feel more guilty as it showed how poorly they had taken care of you. If he just looked at you he would assume you were around 5-6 years old and maybe your powers helped your appearance look younger but it still made him feel guilty.
Bucky had to shake himself out of his thoughts as he watched and heard you try to pronounce his name correctly.
âB-b-a-b-a-ck-yâ You fumbled over the words as you hugged the Iron Man plushie Tony had given you a few days prior after he saw you holding a Captain America plushie. Ever since you hadnât let go of the new plushie, much to Buckyâs demise and Tonyâs ego.
Your father couldnât help but to smile at you, it had been a long time since he smiled as much as when you came into his life and he hoped that maybe you could heal the part in himself that he found to be broken.
ânot Aâ he pointed to the letter a in the book you held in front of you âsweetheart, itâs b-u-ckyâ Bucky pointed at each letter as he said them. He had originally wanted to teach you to call him dad first but as you had no idea what that word meant yet and only ever heard people call him bucky that's what he went with to for now to not make you confused.
âba-cku?
Bucky chuckled slightly and remade his actions as before. He pointed to each letter as he said them. âb-u-c-k-y, buckyâ
âB-u-c-k-y?â
âThat's right sweetie, B-u-c-k-yâ Steve spoke from beside you as he took the other seat next to you as he brought you a plate with different types of sliced fruit as they were still trying to see what you liked to eat.
You took fruit from the plate and tasted it. Munching on it you smiled slightly up at Bucky. âBu-cky, Bucky? Buckyâ
Both super soldiers let out encouraging smiles as you repeated Buckyâs name as if it was a chant. Buckyâs smile held more pride than the others who had heard you as he ruffled your hair. He smiled more brightly as he watched you stand up and ruffle his own hair mimicking his actions. With that he let out a small laugh and kissed the top of your head as you sat down once more, ready for Bucky to teach you other words.

Normal People: "Why did u start writing Yandere content?"
Most Yandere Authors: "I wanted to express my dark desire for a forbidden romance through a creative medium. Forgoing social norms to create a love that is most cruel yet utterly true. To appease the lethal love that lays dormant within my bones, rattling me with its yearning for freedom. To show the world a love that is hideous, dangerous, yet wholly profuse. The sort of love only found under a moonless sky. A romance that can kill and heal with the same hand. To fashion ballads of broken hearts and damaged minds trapped in a waltz of shimmering hearts."
Me: I want to get kidnapped so I won't have any responsibilities.

winterwidows daughter having a full blown argument with Tony bcs only Tony would argue with a 3 year old
Toddler Showdown
WinterWidow x Daughter!Reader
Summary: You get into a fight with your Uncle Tony
âââ
The storm raged outside of the Avengers Tower, Tony and Y/N sat on the floor of the Avengers Lounge, drawing pictures and chatting. It didnât take long for an argument to break out.
You stood her ground, hands on your hips, glaring up at Tony with all the determination you could muster. "No, Uncle Tony! I want the red crayon, not the blue one!" you declared, your tiny voice carrying surprising authority.
Tony raised an eyebrow, amused yet undeterred by the pint-sized challenger before him. "Well, Y/N, you see, the thing is, the blue crayon matches your eyes much better," he countered, his trademark smirk playing on his lips.
You scrunched up her face, unimpressed. "I don't care about my eyes, Mr. Fancy Pants. I want the red one!" you insisted with a yell, your tone dripping with sass.
Tony sighed, leaning down to your level and speaking with an irritated down. "Listen, kid, I've got a whole collection of Stark Industries crayons here, and trust me, the red one is so last season. You're better off with the blue. It's more... avant-garde."
You narrowed your eyes, unyielding. "Stop using big words, Uncle Tony! No one cares about your avo-garden!" you retorted, an annoyed and angry glint dancing in your eyes.
Tony shook his head, his huffing blending with the amused chuckles of nearby Avengers who had gathered to witness the spectacle. "Hey Y/N, thatâs not nice, you canât speak to me that way. Iâm older and you are three therefore, you listen to me," he said in a tone that said he was done with the situation, he started taking her the red crayon with a gentle tug. "Mark my words, one day you'll appreciate the finer things in life."
You snatched back the crayon with a victorious grin, your triumph was evident on your face and proudly displayed as you showed your prize to your parents, who watched with equal parts amusement and pride.
Natasha and Bucky exchanged amused glances, impressed at their daughter's feisty spirit. "Looks like she takes after both of us," Natasha remarked, her eyes twinkling with affection.
Bucky chuckled and knelt down to your level. "Did you take that from Uncle Tony?" he asked nodding towards Tony, who was now standing up, shaking his head and crossing his arms.
You nodded your head with a proud smile. âYes, Daddy! I got the red!â You cheered with an excitement only a toddler could have about a crayon.
You ran back over to Tony and stuck your tongue out at him. âI got the reddd! I got the reddd!â You said in a teasing voice and giggled as you sat back down at the table.
However, the arguments were far from over as you both engaged in a lively debate about the merits of finger painting versus crayon drawing.
As the argument raged on, Natasha and Bucky couldn't smirk from their spot on the couch, they knew it was just harmless arguments that wouldnât affect each other's bond but they couldnât help but admit they were always amusing to watch.

We're a Family
Summary: You and Natasha are taking your first vacation since the birth of your 5-year-old daughter. While you and Natasha are off on a romantic getaway to Paris for your anniversary, how will your Avengers family handle watching your daughter for the weekend?
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Genre: Fluff, Comfort, Romance
Word Count: 4.3k
Warnings: Some mentions of grief.
A/N: Thank you so much for the positive feedback on Come Home to Me! I hope to keep writing as I feel inspired and have time. This story takes place after the events of Endgame. Tony survived defeating Thanos with the Snap, and Steve brought Natasha back after returning the Soul Stone to Vormir.
âAre you sure this is a good idea?â Natasha questioned for the third time that Friday morning as you gathered the last essentials for your 5-year-old daughter to take to the Avengers Compound. You and Nat were taking your first vacation together since your child's birth in celebration of your wedding anniversary. Understandably, your wife was struggling with the idea of leaving your daughter. It was all you could do to convince Natasha to drop her off at preschool, let alone leave her overnight.Â
âLove, weâve talked about this. Itâs only for the weekend. Mila is going to have a great time. Besides, there is nowhere safer for her than surrounded by Avengers. You trust them with your lifeâ, you remind her reassuringly as you rub gentle circles on her back.
âExactly. My life, not my child,â Nat muttered.
It had been five years since you gave birth to your and Natashaâs daughter. Your whole world changed from the moment you both laid eyes on her. Soon after, Nat transitioned into semi-retirement with guidance from Clint. She was still available for consultation and recruit training or if the situation was dire, but you and Mila are her number one priority now.
You heard little feet padding down the hall as your daughter entered your bedroom. Her red curls bounced up and down on her head. âI'm ready, Mommy and Mama!â Mila squealed.Â
âOh, Moya Lyubov, you look so pretty! Did you dress yourself this morning?â Natasha asked, getting down to her level. Â
âYes! I wanted to match Auntie Yelena!â as she showed off her mini black vest that Yelena made her for her last birthday, worn expertly over her pink tutu.Â
âAuntie Yelena is going to love it, sweetheart. Youâre going to have so much fun with your aunts and uncles this weekend,â hugging her tight.
After packing your luggage in the car, you drive to the compound. FRIDAY greets you as you exit the main elevator. âGood morning, Ms. Romanoff, Ms. Y/L/N.â The team is awaiting your arrival in the common room.â
âThank you, FRIDAY,â you replied as Mila let go of Natashaâs hand and ran ahead of both of you, having been here several times already in her young life.
As you enter the room, you see Wanda and Vision in the kitchen, and the smell of freshly baked cookies wafts through the air. Peter and Kate are playing video games, Bucky and Sam are playing cards with Clint, and Steve is quietly reading Moby Dick.Â
âLittle spider!â Yelena called out as she entered the room, and Mila ran into her arms. Â
âAuntie Yelena! Do you like my outfit? I got dressed all by myself!âÂ
âI love it, malayshka. It's so much cooler than Mamaâs outfit,â Yelena says as she side-eyes her older sister with a smile. âWe are going to have so much fun this weekend.â
âYeah, about that,â Natasha interrupted. âMission briefing in five.â
Mission briefing?" you asked, confused. "Love, we're going on vacation, not a stakeout.â
âYes, but they have the most important mission of all, watching our daughter,â motioning to the group before you.
Your heart warms at how protective your wife wasâthe Black Widow. She was a woman who would run into a collapsing building or intercept an alien invasion without batting an eye, but the moment she became a mother, everything changed. She vowed to give Mila everything she never had as a child. To break the cycle of uncertainty and pain that the Red Room forced upon her. Truthfully, you were so proud of how far Natasha had come. From growing up believing love was for children to giving nothing but love to both of you.Â
Just then, Tony and Bruce entered the living room, arguing over their latest nanotech calculations, with Pepper following closely behind.Â
âHey, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, park it,â Natasha declared.Â
âAh, Rushman, wonderful to see you as always,â Tony says, winking at Nat. She rolled her eyes in response as Tony and Bruce hugged you before sitting down, and Pepper picked up your daughter.
âCome on sweetie, do you want to go play with Morgan?â Pepper asked.
âYay!â Mila cheered as they walk down the hall to Morganâs room.
âOkay, here are some quick dos and donâts for this weekend. No guns, no repulsor rays, no arrows, and no using our daughter as a beta test subject for any new experiments. When Thor gets here, no Asgardian beverages in front of our child. Milaâs bedtime is 7 pm, and she likes it if you do the characters' voices when you read her bedtime story. If she has trouble falling asleep, a lullaby usually does the trick. Got it?â
âGeez, this is almost as bad as Budapest,â Clint whispered to Kate.
âItâs going to be alright, Natasha,â Wanda reassured. âWeâre a family. You know we would do anything for that little girl. Please, go and enjoy your anniversary. No one deserves some special alone time more than you twoâ, Wanda says as she hands you a tin of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for the trip.Â
You put your arm around Natasha and kiss her cheek. âWanda is right, my love. Mila will be fine.âÂ
Just as you complete the sentence, Mila runs back into the room. âMommy, Mama! Morgan has Puss and Boots: The Last Wish, and we will watch it tonight before bedtime.âÂ
âThat sounds like so much fun, sweetheart! I know you will be a good girl for your aunts and uncles, and Mommy and Mama will see you on Sunday night, okay? We love you so much.â you said.Â
âOkay, Mommy. I love you!â She said as she hugged you so tight. Natasha knelt to kiss your daughter on the cheek and squeezed her hand three times. Their unique way of saying I love you. After one last hug and kiss, you walk to the Quinjet. Tony had offered one for easy and convenient travel.Â
*^~^*
By the time you arrive at your hotel in Paris, itâs almost dinner time. After sightseeing, you two enjoyed a gourmet candlelit dinner under the Parisian moon and a romantic stroll under the stars. When you returned to your room, you received a text message from Clint with a photo of your daughter asleep on her bedâlovingly cuddled under a blanket with Yelena.Â
âSee, sheâs okay,â you said lovingly as Natasha smiled at the picture of her little girl and her little sister.
As you lay in bed that night, you feel more grateful than ever to be here with the love of your life. Both of you had learned firsthand to never take anything for granted.
You were one of the lost souls left behind after the Blip. Struggling with the loss of your loved ones, you began attending Steveâs Brooklyn Support Group once a week. It was after one of those meetings that you were first introduced to the Black Widow.Â
Natasha hesitated at first to let anyone in. She was too scared to lose anyone else and was convinced that nothing should take away from her commitment to bring everyone back. However, she still found any excuse to attend Steveâs meetings. Whether that was to bring homemade peanut butter sandwiches for the snack table or shyly offering to give you a ride home.Â
You werenât a hero or a super soldier. You didnât remind Natasha of the guilt she carried over the last five years as the fallout from the Blip continued. You were just yourself, which Natasha loved the most about you. You began to visit her at the compound, and slowly but surely, the walls came down for both of you.Â
When she told you about the Time Heist, you didnât want to hear it. You couldnât comprehend the thought of losing Natasha, but you knew she believed in her heart that she owed it to everyone they had lost to try. When Clint returned from Vormir alone and dropped to his knees, so did you. Grief overtook you all over again.
As the Battle for Earth became inevitable, the team hid you in a safe house off the grid. Days went by and you lost track of time, stuck in your grief and unaware of what was happening. It wasn't until a knock on your door awoke you in the middle of the night that you dropped to your knees again. This time in shock at the sight of Natasha on your doorstep. Tears streaming down her face, she told you they had won. Tony defeated Thanos with the Snap, and Steve performed a miracle by bringing her back upon returning the Soul Stone to Vormir.Â
So much life has happened since then. You were married in a beautiful autumnal ceremony shortly after Nat returned and bought your house. Five years ago and twelve hours of labor later, you welcomed your daughter into the world that your wife sacrificed herself to save. You couldnât believe how much you loved them both. Returning to the present moment, you gently move a strand of Natashaâs unbraided red hair away from her face. Her hands move effortlessly to the nape of your neck, and you lose yourself in her touch.
*^~^*
Itâs Saturday morning back at the compound, and Mila is eating blueberry pancakes when Clint strolled in from his morning workout.Â
âHey, squirt! Those pancakes look amazing. Did Auntie Wanda make those?â he asked, reaching for the extra plate of pancakes on the counter.Â
Before Mila can respond, the plate glides quickly away from him, enveloped in Wandaâs red magic. âAuntie Wanda did make those, but theyâre only for adorable little girls named Mila. Is your name Mila?â Wanda said to Clint with a raised eyebrow.
âNo,â Clint grumbled.
âThen make your breakfast, Hawkeye,â Wanda sighed, patting him on the back.Â
After breakfast, Sam and Bucky take Mila outside to play. Meanwhile, Steve is working on a mission report in his room when FRIDAY interrupts his concentration. âMr. Rogers, Iâm picking up an elevated heat signature from your shield just north of your location.â Steve looked curiously out the window to see Mila giggling as she slid across the grass. She is sitting on his overturned shield, pulled by a rope tied to the back of Red Wing.Â
âMy shield is not a toy!â Steve yelled out the window.Â
âOh, hey, Cap! It does make a great sled, doesnât it?â Bucky answered, pretending not to hear what his best friend said, as Sam laughed out loud.Â
Steve shakes his head to hide his smile. You meant the world to him, having spent countless hours processing your grief together in that dark and dank recreation room in Brooklyn. He was honored when you and Natasha asked him to be Milaâs godfather. His shield was made from Vibranium, after all. If his goddaughter wanted to play with it, he knew no harm would be done.Â
That afternoon, Peter arrived at the compound to work on his newest suit upgrade with Tony. Mila is engrossed in coloring at the kitchen table with Auntie Kate when Peter walks in to get a soda.Â
âHey Mila, what are you up to?â
âColoring, do you want to help us?â Mila asked happily.Â
Peter nodded, and they got lost in her Disney Princess coloring book for the next twenty minutes. After adding pretty sparkles to Elsaâs Frozen dress, Mila noticed Peterâs Spider-Man suit sticking out of his bag.Â
âPretty!â Mila said with wide eyes.
âYou like it?â Peter asked.
âYes, is this how you fly? Mama says you can fly!â Mila exclaimed.Â
âSomething like that,â Peter chuckled and tousled her hair.Â
Down in the lab, Tony had been waiting for Peter to arrive for half an hour. Unusual, as his protege was typically annoyingly punctual. Running out of patience, Tony asks FRIDAY for Peterâs current location.
âMr. Parker is in the kitchen with Ms. Bishop and the young Ms. Romanoff, sir.â Tony rolls his eyes as he trudged up the stairs.
âHey Hawkette, have you seen Peter? He was supposed to â â
Tony stops as he sees Peter swinging from the ceiling with Mila on his back. Kate was too busy filming the spectacle on her phone to notice Tony standing there.Â
âWee!! Faster, Uncle Peter!â Mila shouted as Peterâs web carried them across the room to the top of the bookcase.Â
Tonyâs eyes follow the pair around the room. He put on his best poker face, âI wonât tell Romanoff or her better half, but if you break it, you pay for it. That includes the kid.â Tony warned.
âSure thing, Mr. Stark,â Peter gives Tony a thumbs up.Â
âAnd for Godâs sake, at least put some pillows down on the floor!â Tony hollered as he walked back to his lab.Â
*^~^*
You and Natasha took a Saturday evening cruise down the Seine River in the city of love. It was magical. When your phone alerted you to an incoming FaceTime from Carol, you had seen the MusĂŠe dâOrsay the Notre Dame Cathedral and had just reached the top of the Eiffel Tower. You swiped, her face appearing on the screen.
âHey, you two, I just wanted to let you know that Iâm going to be on Earth-616 tomorrow for a meeting with Fury and thought Iâd drop in on my favorite couple. Wait, where are you?âÂ
âParis, for our anniversary! Our first vacation alone in over five years. Can you believe it?â you said giddily as Natasha put her arms around your waist and lovingly kissed your cheek.Â
âWow, thatâs wonderful! Whereâs your little mini-me?â Carol asked.
âWith the team if youâre going there anyway, could you just make sure that everything is good with Mila?â Natasha inquired.Â
âOf course. You know you never have to ask.â
âThank you, Carol,â you gratefully respond. Weâll be back tomorrow evening, so Iâm sure weâll see you then.â Carol gave you a mock salute before you ended the call and put your phone back in your coat pocket.Â
âYou look so beautiful, dorogaya. After all this time, I still can't believe youâre mine.â Nat waxed poetically as she removed her scarf and wrapped it around your neck. Natasha could not look more beautiful in the glow of the Eiffel Tower. You decided this is the perfect moment to give her your anniversary gift. You slowly hand her the red velvet box you had snuck into your satchel. Her green eyes went wide at the sight of it.
âDetka! We said no gifts this year. This trip is gift enough,â Nat facetiously scolded.
âI know, but I still wanted to do something special for you,â you said sheepishly.Â
Natasha opens the box, revealing a simple, delicate gold heart locket necklace. Upon opening the pendant, she is greeted by a candid photo of all three of you. Clint took one during your last visit with his family in Iowa. Nat was sitting on Clintâs front porch with a smiling Mila on her lap. You are leaning behind her with your arms wrapped lovingly around her neck. It quickly became one of your favorite photos of your small yet precious family.Â
âThis is so beautiful, Moya Lyubov. Can you put it on me?â
You moved Natashaâs braid away from her neck and clasped the necklace in the back. The heart locket fell directly on top of her own heart. It looked perfect on her. You're not sure who leaned in first, but your lips met in a kiss that made your stomach flutter like it was the first time. You couldnât be happier than you were at that moment.Â
*^~^*
The Sunday morning sun was slowly breaking through the compound windows. Yelena was pouring your daughter a bowl of Cheerios and singing along to the sound of American Pie from her phone when The God of Thunder entered through the Bifrost. Mila jumped and started to hide behind her Auntie Yelena but ran toward him when she realized only her Uncle Thor was materializing before them, leaving his trademark on Pepperâs Persian rug.Â
âMust you do that every time? Youâre becoming more of a poser than my sister.â Yelena remarked.Â
âOf course,â Thor said nonchalantly. âIt is the only entrance fit for the God of Thunder.â
He lifted Mila with one arm, âOdinâs Beard! Youâve gotten so big since I last saw you, Mila,â Thor declared
âI know! Did you bring me a present Uncle Thor?â Mila squealed.Â
âYes! Now, letâs see here⌠Asgardian Ale, Mead, no⌠ah, here it is!â He handed the little girl a small snow globe set in gold with her name engraved elegantly on the base.
âWow. Pretty snow globeâŚ.â Mila whispered.Â
âIt is indeed,â Thor said, sitting cross-legged on the carpet before the little girl. âThis is a special Asgardian snow globe. Look, see the rainbow bridge inside it?â He pointed. âMost importantly, Lady Mila, if you shake it, I shall be there in a flash. If ever you need me, I will be there.â
âThank you, Uncle Thor!â Mila said as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Iâm going to show it to my Teddy Bear!â Running to her bedroom.Â
âYou spoil her, you know,â Yelena stated with a smirk, as she began to clean up the kitchen.Â
âI know, but she is such a grand example of goodness and joy in such a tiny human. She deserves the world.â Thor declared.
Carol arrived shortly after lunch. After a short meeting with Fury in the conference room regarding upcoming mission targets, she finds your daughter in the compound courtyard. She is wearing her vest to match her favorite auntie as Yelena demonstrates the newest tricks Fanny has learned.
âRoll over! Good girl, Fanny!â Yelena praised the dog. Mila takes a treat out of her vest pockets with her tiny hand and tosses it to the Akita.
âWell done, Mila! Before you go home tonight, I will show you what else you can hide inside those pockets,â winking at her niece.Â
âFruits and veggies, right, Yelena?â Carol deadpanned as Mila ran over and jumped into Captain Marvelâs arms.Â
âAuntie Carol! When did you get here?â Your daughter giggled.Â
âJust a little bit ago. I talked to your Mommy and Mama last night. They miss you and canât wait to see you when they get home tonight,â Carol shared before kissing your daughter on the cheek.
*^~^*
As the sun started to sink on the horizon, casting a warm glow over the ancient city of Paris, you found yourself immersed in the rich history of the Louvre museum. You had eagerly anticipated this moment, and after spending the afternoon exploring the countless treasures within the museum's walls, Natasha was determined to ensure you had the chance to lay eyes on the iconic Mona Lisa. As you weaved your way through the bustling crowd of tourists, Natasha's determined presence caused a path to effortlessly clear before you as she kindly asked them to move the fuck over.
You returned to your hotel and enjoyed a plate of chocolate-covered strawberries when Natashaâs phone dinged.Â
Carol: Hey, lovebirds. It's all good here. Mila is doing great and excited to see you when you return. However, you may want to check her vest pockets when you get home for some âspecialâ presents courtesy of Auntie Yelena. đ
Natasha giggled, showing you the text.Â
âThe important thing is that theyâre bonding,â placing a delicate kiss on her temple.Â
Following Wandaâs delicious Chicken Paprikash dinner, your daughter watched Frozen II. Vision attempted to explain the science behind snowflakes to her when Tony strolled into the lounge.
âHey, kiddo, do you want to come to the lab with me and see the new suit modifications that the Jolly Green Giant and I are working on?â
âYay!â Mila said excitedly, jumping up and down.
âSir, Ms. Romanoff indicated there was to be no experimenting with young Ms. Mila while she is in our care.â
âRelax, chrome dome. Weâre just looking at the new holographic mockup.â Picking up Mila and carried her to his lab.Â
*^~^*
After a few hours, Natasha gracefully guided the Quinjet to a smooth landing. As the engines powered down, she took a deep breath and gently reached across the console to grasp your hand. Together, you gazed out at the glittering lights of the team living quarters in the distance.
"Thank you for making our anniversary so wonderful," you said. "I love you so much. I know it was tough for you to leave Mila for three days, but not only did we have a beautiful anniversary, but our daughter got to spend meaningful time with her family, which she will always remember." You pressed a kiss to her knuckles as Natasha caressed your cheek.
You were right, dorogaya. This was perfect. Iâm sorry I was so nervous about leaving her. I just never thought I would have my happily ever after. That little girl and you are my everything. It breaks my heart every time I leave either one of you.
âI know, my love,â you said quietly. âNow, letâs go get our daughter and go home.â
As you entered the compound, the air was filled with shouting and the excited barking of Fanny and Lucky. Natasha instinctively reached for her spare Widow Bites, but before she could react, both of you heard the unmistakable sound of your daughter's laughter. Following the noise, you entered the common room to find your daughter joyfully running through the compound. She was wearing her pajamas and had one of Tonyâs Iron Man helmets perched on her head while clutching a can of whipped cream. Yelena and the rest of the team were in hot pursuit, with puffs of whipped cream trailing behind her as she raced through the room.
Kate skidded to a stop in front of both of you. âOh, you guys are back. Awesome! Umm, we made ice cream sundaes for dessert. Mila enjoyed hers, as you can seeâ, Kate motioned, breathing heavily.
Mila took her last lap around the couch when she caught sight of you and Natasha.Â
âMommy, Mama! Youâre here!!â she squealed, running into Natashaâs arms.Â
âHi, Moya Lyubov, we missed you so much!!â Natasha said as she wrapped Mila in a big hug before passing her to you to do the same.Â
âIt looks like you had fun with your aunts and uncles this weekend,â removing the helmet and brush a red curl away from her eyes.Â
âI had so much fun, Mommy! I got to eat yummy food, ride a sled, fly, and Auntie Yelena helped me hide special treasures in my vest pockets. Oh, and I got a magic snow globe with my name on it!â Your daughter rambled happily.Â
Natasha looked at you slightly skeptical, wondering if your sweet little girl was exaggerating. With your family, you were never quite sure.Â
âWow, that sounds amazing, kotyonok!â Are you ready to go home now?â Nat asked as Mila gives you her best puppy dog eyes.Â
âItâs okay sweetheart, weâll come back and see everyone next weekend. Why donât you go get your Teddy bear?â you suggested.
âIâll help her with her things,â Yelena said, scooping up your daughter and walking to her bedroom.Â
âWe canât thank all of you enough for taking such good care of her. I know she would stay here forever if we let her.â You said as you move through the group hugging every one.Â
She is always welcome here, you two know that.â Wanda said, confident she was speaking for the entire team.Â
A short while later, Mila emerged with her unicorn backpack, followed by Yelena, carrying more bags than she had when you dropped her off. You couldn't help but shake your head, knowing the team had showered her with gifts. Natasha crouched down to Milaâs eye level, tenderly placing her hand on her back. âCan you say goodbye and thank you to all of your aunts and uncles, dorogaya?â she asked. Mila made her way around the room, hugging everyone. It warmed Natasha to witness her family showering your daughter with so much love and affection.
Mila drifted off to sleep only five minutes after being placed in her car seat. Upon returning home, Natasha carried her to her bed with the utmost care. She tenderly laid Mila down, ensuring she was tucked in snugly, and then, both of you gently kissed her forehead before quietly slipping out of the room. You decided to postpone the unpacking until the following day, feeling too exhausted from the long journey. In the bedroom, Natasha was sitting in bed, engrossed in a book with her reading glasses perched precariously on the edge of her nose. The day's fatigue faded as you turned off the bathroom light and joined her in bed.
âI couldnât have asked for a more romantic anniversary, my love,â you admitted as you carefully removed her glasses from her face and gently kissed her lips. âBut there is nowhere I would rather be than at home with you and our beautiful daughter.â
âI couldnât agree more,â Nat said, returning the kiss.Â
As Natasha drifted into slumber, her mind wandered back to the tumultuous path that had brought her to this moment. She couldn't escape the memories of her pastâa life of manipulation in the Red Room with no autonomy and the unending pursuit to cleanse her conscience of the bloodstains it bore. But then came the shot that Clint didn't take and the chance that Fury did. Her deeply unconventional yet cherished family culminated in the arrival of you and your precious daughter. In these precious bonds, Natasha Romanoff found the strength to thrive and, at long last, find peace.

Part 2
â
Night blanketed the Avengers Compound in an unusual hush, the kind that settled deep in the bones.
To outsiders, it might seem like a tranquil evening, a rare gem in the chaotic lives of Earthâs Mightiest Heroes. But to a seasoned sailor, it felt like the eerie calm before a tempest, the kind that hinted at an impending storm.
Natasha and Buckyâs relationship had frayed beyond recognition, tension crackling in the air between them.
So it was no shock when they arrived at the compound one night, both seeking solitude in separate corners, each weighed down by their own burdens.
As they moved through the familiar halls, they hoped that the presence of friends would offer a welcome distraction from their racing thoughts, if only for a little while.
â
Natasha lay awake in bed that night, just like Bucky in the next room, listening to the soft, rhythmic breaths of little Tanya as she slept peacefully.
The guilt weighed heavily on Natasha, the voices in her head whispering harsh truths, blaming her for what had happened to Y/N.
And deep down, she knew they were right.
Bucky was right. Tanya was right. Their friends were right.
The only one responsible for her daughterâs disappearance was her.
â
It was deep into the night when Natasha started to surrend to the pull of sleep, her mind tetheering between the reality and the dreams.
It was just then when alarms started ringing, lights flashing heratically to signal that something was happening.
âAlert! Alert!â FRIDAY's voice echoed through the compound "Intruders detected in the west wing. Security systems are compromised." The AI said, providing a detailed update on the situation
Natasha jumped out of bed, shaking her head to wake herself fully, her first reflex was to reach out for Tanya and lift her in her arms.
âMama...â The sleepy girl whimpered scared, unable to comprehend what was happening around her just yet
âItâs okay, baby.â Natasha breathed out, kissing the top of Tanyaâs head
âTanya!â Bucky shouted over the alarms, bursting inside the room
Natasha watched as Bucky crossed the room in a second, stopping in front of her and Tanya to carress their daughterâs hair.
âAre you okay, baby doll?â Bucky kissed Tanyaâs little forehead, ignoring Natashaâs presence
âWe need to get her to the safe room, James.â Natasha said, earning a nod from Bucky
From a quick move, Bucky took Tanya into his arms and took off sprinting towards the safe room, Natasha hot on his heels to ensure they arenât attacked while getting Tanya to safety.
Natasha and Bucky moved fast, faster than they have done in their entire lives.
The urgency of the moment propelled them forward, every step taken with precision and purpose. As they navigated the labyrinthine corridors, Natasha's senses were on high alert, her eyes scanning for any sign of danger. She could hear Tanya's soft whimpers, the only sound she could focus on.
Bucky's grip on Tanya was firm yet gentle, his metallic arm gleaming in the dim light.
He moved with a fluidity that spoke of years of training, his focus entirely on protecting his daughter.
They rounded a corner and came to a heavy steel door embedded in the wall. Bucky placed his hand on the biometric scanner, and after a tense moment, the door slid open with a soft hiss.
They quickly stepped inside, and the door closed behind them, sealing them in the reinforced safe room.
The room was sparsely furnished, designed for functionality over comfort. A small cot was tucked into one corner, and a table with emergency supplies occupied another.
Bucky gently set Tanya down on the cot, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face.
"You're safe now, sweetheart," he murmured, his voice soft but steady. Tanya looked up at him with wide eyes, her fear slowly giving way to trust.
Natasha quickly scanned the room, checking the surveillance monitors mounted on the wall. She watched the feeds, her sharp eyes noting any movement outside their sanctuary.
For the moment, everything appeared calm, but she knew better than to let her guard down.
Natasha turned back to Tanya, her expression softening. She knelt beside the cot, reaching out to hold her daughter's hand. "How are you feeling, honey?"
Tanya's eyes flickered between her parents, her small voice trembling. "I was scared, Mama."
Natasha's heart ached at the vulnerability in her daughter's words. "I know, sweetheart. But we're here now, and we won't let anything happen to you."
"Natasha," Bucky called "We have to go. The others are waiting for us."
Natasha silently nodded before turning back to face Tanya.
"Wait for us here, baby." She planted a kiss on her daughter's forehead "Mama and Papa will soon be back."
And with that, Natasha turned around and started running towards the door, pulling Bucky along by his metal arm.
â
When Natasha and Bucky exited the safe room, they saw Steve, who was already in is suit, running towards them.
"Tony, Nat, Bucky, with me." Steve yelled, as Tony showed up in his armor. "We'll head to the west wing and deal with the intruders directly. Thor, stay with Tanya and make sure sheâs safe. Bruce, get ready to go green if needed. Wanda and Vision, secure the perimeter and look for any additional threats. Clint, get to a vantage point and provide cover."
"FRIDAY, give us a layout of the intruders' positions," Tony commanded.
"Displaying now," FRIDAY responded, projecting a holographic map showing red dots representing the intruders moving through the compound.
"Not as many as we expected." Wanda tilted her head to the side, surprised. "Just... One."
Natasha adjusted her Widow Bites around her wrists glancing at Bucky. "Just like old times, huh?" she said with a smirk, trying to ease the permanent tension in between them.
"Let's hope it's easier than the old times." Bucky sighed, his metal arm glinting under the emergency lights.
The team quickly split up, each heading to their assigned tasks with the precision and efficiency born of countless battles together.
As they moved through the hallways, the sounds of shattering glass and blaring alarms filled the air, creating a chaotic symphony.
Yet, they were too familiar with it.
Captain America lead the group through the dimly lit corridors of the west wing, his shield at the ready.
Meanwhile, Thor stood guard over Tanya, his hammer, Mjolnir, crackling with lightning.
Tanya clung to his side, her eyes wide with fear but trusting in the Asgardian's protection.
"Do not worry, little one," Thor assured her with a smile. "No harm shall come to you while I am here. Uncle Thor will protect you, human baby."
â
The living room of the Avengers compound was supposed to be a sanctuary, a place where the heroes could unwind. But as the door burst open, the atmosphere shifted from calm to chaos in an instant.
The intruder, a lithe figure cloaked in crackling energy, face masked, stood defiantly in the center, electric arcs dancing around their limbs, as they looked much shorter than they expected at first.
The team took a quick glance towards the unknown intruder, but they knew not to waste too much time.
âGet them!â Steve shouted, his voice cutting through the tension.
He led the charge, shield raised high, flanked by Natasha, Bucky, Clint, and Tony. They had faced countless foes, but something about this one felt different.
The moment they advanced, the intruder unleashed a torrent of electrical bolts. They zipped through the air, illuminating the room with flashes of blue and white.
The team scattered, dodging the deadly projectiles as they ricocheted off the walls, leaving scorch marks in their wake.
âStay on your toes!â Natasha shouted, her instincts kicking in.
Natasha lunged forward, Widow bites primed and ready, aiming straight for the intruderâs heart.
Suddenly, with a flick of their wrist, the intruder twisted the air around them, redirecting the projectiles back at Natasha.
A jolt of electricity struck her, sending her sprawling across the floor.
Natasha knew her how powerful her Widow Bites are, but the pain she felt had doubled in intensity.
She could only guess that the intruder overcharged her Bites with electricity.
âNat!â Bucky yelled, moving to cover her.
"I'm good." The red head groaned.
Bucky turned around and charged in, his metal arm poised to deliver a crushing blow.
But the intruder was quick. Quicker than expected.
With a flicker of energy, she sent a surge through his arm, rendering it useless.
Bucky grunted in frustration, trying to shake the numbness away. Yet, he could not.
Clint notched an arrow, his focus razor-sharp. âIâve got this!â he declared, releasing the arrow.
But the intruder merely raised their hand, and with a casual flick, the arrow transformed mid-flight, exploding into a shower of sparks that lit up the room.
Clint ducked, narrowly avoiding the debris.
âEnough of this!â Steve barked, frustration boiling over.
He threw his shield with precision, aiming to knock the intruder off balance.
The intruder, anticipating his move, charged the vibranium with raw electricity. As it came hurtling back at him, Steve barely had time to brace himself before the shield collided with his chest, sending him stumbling back.
âTony, we need air support!â Steve shouted, trying to catch his breath.
âOn it, Cap!â Tony replied, rocketing into the air.
His suit hummed with energy, weapons primed for action. But as he soared toward the intruder, they focused their gaze on him, their eyes glinting with mischief.
In an instant, they reached out with their mind, hijacking FRIDAYâs systems.
âTony, watch out!â Natasha warned, but it was too late.
The suit turned against its owner, firing repulsors wildly in every direction. The room erupted in chaos as explosions rocked the space, sending Tony crashing to the ground amidst a plume of smoke and debris.
As the dust began to settle, the Avengers gathered themselves, panting and bruised. They exchanged glances, realizing the magnitude of their predicament. They were outmatched, and the intruder was only getting started.
Just when it seemed all hope was lost, a booming voice echoed through the compound.
âEnough!â Thor descended from above, Mjolnir crackling with energy.
He unleashed a powerful torrent of lightning toward the intruder, channeling his might in a single, devastating strike.
But in a shocking twist, the intruder caught the lightning mid-air, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly intensity.
With a swift motion, they redirected the energy back at Thor, blasting him through the wall with a thunderous crash.
âThor!â Steve shouted, rushing to his fallen comrade.
The room was filled with the smell of burnt wood and singed air, remnants of the battle swirling in the aftermath.
As the Avengers regrouped, they observed the intruder intently.
The intruder had been wounded in the fray, a small gash visible on their left side of their body, but even now, they summoned a spark of electricity, channeling it into the injury.
With a quick flicker, the wound began to heal, the skin knitting together as the enemy harnessed the very energy that had attacked them moments before.
âIs everyone okay?â Steve asked, looking around at his team, who were panting and bruised but mostly intact.
âI think so,â Natasha said, slowly getting back to her feet. âBut they're strong. We underestimated them.â
âWhere did it even come from?â Clint asked, still shaken by the chaos.
Before they could discuss further, the unknown intruder, now mostly healed, turned their back to them.
Without a word, the enemy fled the scene, their figure disappearing into the shadows.
The Avengers stood in stunned silence, the remnants of their defeat hanging in the air.
âWhat just happened?â Clint gasped, shaking his head in disbelief.
âI donât know,â Steve replied, his brow furrowed. âBut we need to regroup and figure out what weâre dealing with.â
As they caught their breath, the reality sank in.
This was no ordinary adversary.
The intruder hadnât spoken a single word, yet they had proven their power in an instant.
The quiet before the storm lingered, an ominous reminder that they had only begun to scratch the surface of the challenge ahead.
The Avengers knew one thing for sure: they had to be ready for whatever came next.
â
"That was my new suit!" Tony yelled, pointing at his chest.
"And that was my arm!" Bucky shot back. "I lost it in that battle!"
The meeting room was filled with protests, as the Avengers gathered early in the morning to talk about the previous night's events.
"Can you quit with that joke already?" Natasha groaned tiredly "You sound like little children."
"Agent Hill," Fury interjected, stopping the useless complaining. "Please give our agents a quick rundown on the enemy's powers."
"Of course, Sir," Hill said, turning to the group. "Listen up, guys. From the footage we analyzed last night, we identified five key powers, all linked by one element." She paused, scanning the room. "Electricity."
"No shit." Clint chuckled ironically. "We haven't notived that last night."
"Electrokinesis," Maria firmly started, ignoring Clint, "is the ability to generate and control electricity. This includes shooting bolts, creating fields, or powering devices with their body. You've all seen them do this."
Maria recieved a collective nod.
"Electromagnetism," Maria continued, "controlling magnetic fields, manipulating objects, or flying using electromagnetic propulsion. This is why theyâve evaded our attacks so effortlessly. Steve and Natasha know this firsthand."
Steve put his head in his hands, still feeling embarressed after last night's battle.
"Electric Absorption: the ability to absorb and store electricity, enhancing their powers or releasing bursts of energy." Maria boomed, trying to mock Thor.
"For Mjolnir sake." Thor sighed.
"Technopathy: the power to control or communicate with electronic devices, manipulating technology with their minds or integrating with networks." Maria looked at Tony, earning an eye roll from him.
"It was my new suit." Tony repeated
"Electric Healing," Maria chukled, "the ability to heal or rejuvenate oneself or others using electrical energy, speeding up natural processes."
"That shit was impressive." Clint pointed with his finger towards Maria.
"We will face another attack soon," Fury asserted. "We need a plan to stop them and capture them alive. This wonât end until they get what they want." He fixed a stern gaze on Natasha. "Donât let me down."
With that, Fury stood and left.
"Youâre all dismissed for now," Maria announced. "Stay prepared."
â
The room was abuzz with tension and murmurs after Maria's detailed briefing on the enemy's powers. Each agent's mind was racing, trying to piece together strategies to counter such formidable abilities.
Tony, still slightly agitated about his ruined suit, took a deep breath and turned to the others. "Alright, team, let's get to work. We need to come up with a solid plan. Any ideas?"
"We need to exploit their weaknesses. Every power has a limitation. If they're relying heavily on electricity, we could consider ways to short-circuit their abilities." Steve stepped forward, his face set with determination.
Natasha nodded, mindlessly playing with a pen. "EMP devices. If we can deploy them effectively, we might be able to neutralize their powers temporarily. But we need a backup plan in case that fails."
Bruce, who hadn't been at the compound last night when the attack happened, had been quietly observing everyone, silently trying to absorbe all information before he spoke up.
"Electromagnetism and electric absorption make direct confrontations risky. But if we can overload their absorption capacity, it might destabilize them." The doctor said "We need to carefully calculate the amount of electricity needed to do that."
"And what about their technopathy?" Clint added "They could turn our own tech against us. We'll need manual overrides and non-digital communication methods to stay one step ahead."
"Right." Tony, surprisingly, agreed. "No relying on our usual tech. We'll go analog wherever possible. But we still need to pinpoint their location and predict their next move."
"We analized if any key points with high electricity had been targeted recently before the attack on us and, based on their previous patterns, they do target high-energy facilities." Maria, still present, interjected, "Power plants, research labs, places with significant electrical infrastructure. We should prioritize securing these locations that are nearby."
Steve nodded. "Good point. We'll need to divide our forces to cover as many potential targets as possible. We should also set traps and surveillance in these areas to give us an early warning."
Bucky, who had been silently fuming about the earlier exchange, finally spoke up. "And when we do face them, we need to coordinate our attacks. Distraction and misdirection could give us the upper hand."
Tony took a deep breath. "Alright, team, here's the plan: EMP devices, strategic deployment at high-risk locations, manual overrides for our tech, and coordinated attacks. We'll split into smaller units to cover more ground. Let's get to work and be ready for anything."
"Alright, sunshine." Bucky mockingly smiled at Tony
Tony rolled his eyes but made no move to protest. Instead, he stood up, and left the room.
As the team dispersed to prepare, Maria watched them go with a steely resolve. She knew the upcoming battle would test their limits, but she also knew they were the best hope for stopping this new threat.
And yet, they still had to learn what was the reason behind these new attacks.
With a final nod to herself, she turned to finalize the details and ensure everything was in place for the imminent confrontation.
â
The room began to empty as people filed out, chatting amongst themselves, leaving Natasha standing alone in the dim light.
She saw that Bucky stood up from his seat aswell, preparing to leave, when she caught him by him right arm, her grip firm but gentle, pulling him back to her.
âJames, please.â Her voice was soft, almost fragile. âCan we talk?â
Bucky stood there, his jaw clenched, anger flickering in his eyes. He hesitated, the tension between them thick enough to cut.
âWhat is there to talk about, Natasha?" He sighed. "You've already made your choices, and look where it got us.â
Natasha lowered her gaze, taking a deep breath as the weight of her mistakes settled on her shoulders. âI know I made mistakes. Iâm sorry. I should have been a better mother for Y/N.â
Bucky's glare was fierce as his daughter's name got mentioned. He was ready to start an arguement, but as he searched her face, he saw the sincerity in her eyes, leaving him unsure of what to think.
âYou canât just say sorry and expect everything to be fine, Nat." He raised his voice, tears gathering in his eyes. "This isnât something that just goes away. Not when my daughter is out there, who knows in what condition, probably fighting for her life as we talk.â
Natasha swallowed hard when she heard his words, guilt creeping again in her mind.
Stepping closer, her voice trembled with raw emotion. âI know, James. I donât expect it to. But I need you to understand⌠I care about our family. I care about Y/N. More than Iâve ever let on.â She paused for a second. "I was just too scared to allow myself to love her fully after Tanya was born, and now, I regret it deeply."
Buckyâs shoulders sagged, the anger seeping away as he absorbed her words.
After a momentâs hesitation, he pulled her into a hug, their bodies fitting together like pieces of a puzzle that had been lost for too long.
They stood in silence, the world around them fading as thoughts of their daughters, the mysterious intruder, and the dangers lurking ahead filled their minds.
âI can't forgive you. Not yet. We need to bring Y/N back home first. But I promise weâll figure this out,â Bucky whispered, his breath warm against her ear. âTogether.â
Natasha nodded, holding him tighter, finding solace in their shared resolve.
The room felt heavy with unspoken fears and hopes, but in that embrace, they found a flicker of strength to face whatever lay ahead.
â
Fury and Maria were right when they told the team that an attack will soon follow, because not even 3 nights later, the Avengers' headquarters erupted in chaos, debris flying as their relentless foe, returned with a vengeance.
This time, Natasha and Bucky haven't brought Tanya with them. Instead, they left her with Wanda at their house.
They knew a new attack was imminent and they didn't wanted to drag their young daughter in this again.
â
The enemy stood tall, eyes glinting with malice. "You cannot stop me, Avengers! Your time ends now!"
The intruder's voice was powerful, yet it sounded more robotic than human.
The team, weary and battered, exchanged glances filled with concern.
"Oh, so we can talk." Tony spat, trying to ease the tension.
Tony, in his brand new Iron Man suit, turned to Natasha. "We need a plan, Nat. This thing is too powerful."
They knew they couldn't engage in a battle that could drag on forever and end in their defeat.
Again.
They were expecting this new attack, so they couldn't afford to lose time. They needed to act.
And act fast.
Natasha, ever the strategist, responded, "I have an idea, but it's risky. We need to overload their power source. Push it beyond its limits, and it might shut down."
Thor, gripping his hammer, nodded fiercely. "Aye, let's try it. My lightning may be of use in this."
Steve stepped forward, shield at the ready. "We'll channel all our energy into our attacks. Together, we can do this!"
"You have no source of electrical power, Stevie." Bucky laughed.
"Maybe not." Steve smirked. "But my shield can conduct the energy."
Raising their weapons and abilities, the Avengers rallied.
Thor summoned crackling lightning, Thor powered up his repulsors, Steve took position, shield at the ready, and Natasha poised for a precise strike, alongisde the others.
"You think you can challenge me?" The intruder taunted them. "I am beyond your comprehension!"
With a unified battle cry, the team unleashed a concentrated barrage of energy.
The room exploded with blinding light as their powers converged on their enemy.
The intruder struggled, their form wavering under the onslaught. "No! This cannot be!" They shouted in pain.
The energy intensified, breaking through the defenses. The enemy staggered, faltering under the relentless assault.
"Keep pushing!" Natasha urged, gritting her teeth. "We've almost got it! It's working."
With a deafening blast, the enemy convulsed and collapsed, the room trembling with the aftermath.
Silence followed, broken only by the team's heavy breaths, as their victory settled in.
â
Bucky felt a ringing in his ears as pain shot through his entire body.
He let out a loud groan, pushing himself into a sitting position. Looking around, he saw the rest of the team scattered across the room.
"Damn it!" Natasha groaned, following Bucky's lead as she pushed herself up.
"Is everyone alright?!" Steve shouted worried.
As everyone regained their senses, Bucky noticed the intruder lying unconscious in the center of the room and stood up.
With calculated steps, he approached their enemy, kneeling beside them with deliberate movements.
"We'll see who is the bastard who dares to challenge us," Bucky mumbled angrily under his breath as he reached to remove the intruder's mask.
A collective gasp echoed through the room as the mask came off, followed by a stunned silence.
Bucky's eyes widened and a shocked whisper resonated throughout the room.
This couldn't be real.
It just, couldn't be.
"Y/N..."

Sebastian Stan x StepDaughter!Teen!reader
wc: shmall/776
summary: y/n comes home drunk but Sebastian is there to make sure sheâs okay.
warnings: alcohol, step parents(???), one mention of teen pregnancy, lemme know what i missed plz.
a/n: hiiii wrote this last night. thought it was cute. this is unedited so sorry in advance. will i fix it? no prob not.
You got your friend to drive you back from the party. You made her turn the headlights off and drop you off a couple of houses down from your home. âHoly Shit!â
ââLanguage, young lady.â
ââWhat are you doing up?â You said, trying not to slur your words. It was no use though.
âWaiting for you.â Sebastian said, leaning against the door frame. He hadnât married your mom yet but he moved in with you and your mom. Over time the relationship between you two grew very deep. It was evident he cared for you. Not growing up with a father figure, you werenât sure how this was gonna go, but you were thankful for Sebastian being there whenever you needed him to be. He was more than willing to step up.
âYou donât have to do that.â Trying to act nonchalant.
âI just wanted to make sure youâre okay. Make sure youâre not drunk.â
âWell, no need to worry because I am nethier of those things.â You proceeded to give a weak thumbs up. Sebastian walked over to you after a second. Arms crossed. âHow many drink did you have?â
You sighed and looked down, defeated in your drunken state. âlike 5.â
âY/n!â
âBut, I was very responsible! We had a designated driver. We did nothing but talk at Sophieâs house. We even gave each other emergency contacts! I gave them your number just in case!â His heart secretly swelled.
âPlease, whatever you do, please donât tell mom?â
He sighed and paused for a bit. But finally released a simple âOk.â
You were shocked. You didnât think he would let you off this easily.
âWhat? Ok?â
âListen, Sheâs gonna find out. You think sheâs an idiot? And even then sheâs not gonna be upset. Sheâs been in your shoes before. We both have! Your mom knows what itâs like to be a teenager and have fun. She got pregnant with you as a teen for Christ's sake!â
âI donât intend on doing that.â You said slurring.
âThat might get you in a little more trouble.â
You hid your head in your hands, both out of embarrassment and out of pain with your oncoming migraine.
âSo youâre not mad?â
âNo. Of course not. I just wanted to make sure youâre ok and not too drunk.â
âWell iâm ok and super drunk.â you said almost falling in his arms before he caught you.
âOk we need to get you to bed.â
âBut im not tiiiired!â
âYes, you are.â
âOk, Iâm very tired.â
Sebastian led you to your room. You immediately flopped on your bed with a grunt. Sebastian chuckled to himself as he walked over to your closet to find some pjs for you to wear. He found a set and threw it on your bed. âGet changed into this, I'll be right back.â You just moaned and layed still for a good minute before getting a spruce of energy and sitting up to change. You took of your layers of jewelry and put them in your side table before you heard a knock. âEnter.â You said, as you flopped back down on your bed. Sebastian laughed as he sat down beside you. âCome here.â He grabbed your arm and pulled you up. You just grumbled which only made him smile more. He had a makeup wipe and proceeded to wipe away the dried mascara and and anything else that was left after the drunken night. Once he let go of your arm, you fell back down on the bed again. He smiled. âGoodnight, y/n.â
âWAIT!â
He turned around. Your eyes were half open as you managed to get yourself under the covers. âYou have to tuck me in.â You said matter of factly. âAh of course.â He returned to your bed and sat beside you, helping to move the covers up. You talked as he tucked you in.
âSebastian?â
âHm?â
âAm I gonna be hurt tomorrow?â
âHurt? Well maybe, but itâs nothing time and some advil canât help.â
âSebastian?â
âYes sweetie.â
âIâm never gonna drink again.â
âOh really?â
âYeah. Drinking is for disgusting people.â
âBut I drink does that mean iâm disgusting?â
âEhâŚyou get a pass.â
âThank you.â
He plugged in your phone, turned the light off, and gave you your final tucks.
âSebastian?â
âHm?â
âCan you stay?â You looked at him with longing eyes. He climbed into bed without another word. He turned on some random disney movie for background noise. After a while, your head fell on his chest and your breathing slowed. He kissed the top of your head.
âI love you baby.â
You snuggled deeper. âI love you too dadâ

there's this kid around peter she who's new to the team. peter plays a prank to get her to loosen up to the team and possibly make another friend so peter somehow gets her to leave her room and locks her ina. dark closet as a prank but he doesn't know that she's scared of the dark bc of hydra nat and tony find her later and get on peters ass. he tries to apologize but she doesn't wanna hear that shit now any chance he had of being her friend went out the window along with any chance of her finally bonding with the team and peter is tryna fix that. rest is up to you
Prank
Pairing: Avengers x reader, Peter Parker x reader (platonic)
Warning: Angst, hurt, Peter being sweet at the end
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You hummed quietly as you sat on your bed cautiously examining the piece of clothing Natasha had gifted you. A knock on the door pulls you from your thoughts. With hesitant steps you make your way to the door and crack it open to reveal Peter Parker. You remember him from the meeting you were required to go to as a way to meet the others. He was about your age and seemed friendly enough.
He gives you a smile and a wave before he begins talking. âHello! I'm Peter. It's y/n right?â you give him a nod and shuffle on your feet waiting for him to leave. âThe others wanted me to let you know that we have a meeting in 5 minutes.â With that he walks away.
Closing the door you sigh and lean against it. Walking over to your closet you pick out some clothes and get dressed and quickly brush your hair before heading out of your room and down the hall.
As you're walking you hear a noise coming from a closet. Looking around you open the door and frown when you see nothing. Before you could walk away you are quickly shoved into it and the door locks.
âHello? Hello! Let me out!â you scream as tears run down your face. Visions of Hydra quickly enter your mind and you fall to the floor screaming and crying. âLet me out! I'll be good, I promise! Let me out!â The compound begins to shake and Peter begins to get worried.
Footsteps are heard followed by a loud voice âPeter what's going on?â Mr. Stark says. The door opens revealing Natasha, Tony, and Peter on the other side. All three look at your shaking body worriedly. Natasha is the first to move. She slowly makes her way to you and reaches out but you flinch back. She gasps as not even a moment later you run past her down the hall and to your room. The door slams shut and the shaking dies down slowly.
âWhat were you thinking Parker!â Natasha shouts at the boy as she stares daggers at him.
âI was just- I thought that. It was just a prank! I thought it would loosen her up! I thought that maybe she would open up and want to be friends!â He says as tears come to his eyes.
âSo you lock the poor girl in a closet!â Natasha shakes her head and looks to your room debating whether or not to go check on you. WIth a sigh she looks back at Peter. âYou better fix this.â Walking away she walks towards the elevator.
âMr. Stark?â Peter says but Tony just shakes his head and follows after Natasha.
A week after the incident, Peter stands outside your door with some chocolate and an apology that he had practiced for hours to make sure it sounded okay. With a deep breath he knocks on your door.
Opening the door and spotting Peter you immediately go to close it but he quickly holds it open. âWait! Please just let me explain.â He begs. You stand stiffly and cross your arms as you wait for him to speak. âWhat happened that day I didnât know that you would react like that. If I did I wouldnât have done it. I just was going to prank you so that-â
âA prank? I do not know what a prank is but I don't need an explanation. Just stay away from me. Tell everyone else that too, would you. I donât need anymore of these âpranksâ happening. I just want to be alone.â You slam the door in his face and he looks down dejected as he watches the chocolates fall to the ground.
âPeter Parker!â Yelena shouts as she walks into the room with Natasha and Wanda hot on her trail. âFix whatever youâve done to y/n! I was so close to bonding with her! We were gonna go vest shopping! I was going to make her see the joy in pockets!â She shouts as she points at the boy.
âI-I tried. She wonât accept my apology.â He defends himself and backs up as Yelena glares at him. Yelena would always scare him more than anything in the world.
âPeter Parker if you dont-â
âYelena thats enoughâ Natasha calls to her sister. The younger girl huffs and crosses her arms.
Peter stood in your room proud of his work as he looked around at all the glow in the dark stars on your ceiling and the fake flowers, vines, and butterflies that were scattered on your walls. Until now your room had been the exact same since before you started sleeping in it.
As you walked into the room your body seemed to be on Alert. Looking up you gasped at all the things in your room as tears filled your eyes. You continued to look around until you spotted a figure standing in the middle.
âPeter?â You asked softly âWhat. Did you do this?â
âI did. I asked Natasha if she knew of anything you liked. She said you seemed very happy watching the stars and butterflies so I ask Mr. Stark for some help.â With a choked sob you ran into his arms giving him a hug. He was taken back but quickly reciprocated.
âThank you!â
âAnything for you.â He whispered.
After that you had begun warming up to the team. You allowed Yelena to take you vest shopping and you both came back with bags and bags of vests each with different amounts of pockets. Clint and Kate showed you how to shoot a bow and arrow. Natasha helped train you with hand to hand combat while Wanda helped you control your powers. Bruce and Tony showed you around the lab and let you help build new suits and technology. Peter helped you learn what a prank was although you were still very confused but eventually both of you ran around the compound pulling pranks on everyone in sight. You finally had a home and you loved it.
A Stitch In Time || Prologue
-Bucky Barnes x Daughter!Reader-
Series Masterlist
° Chapter Summary: Worried about how his mission may go, Bucky visits a âtouchyâ place, and recalls the short life he had with you.
° Date: 7/20
° Rating: Teen
° Word Count: 4,569
° Warning: Talks about death/dying; Reference to Suicide; Guilt; Child Abandonment; Talks of Fertility Issues; Alcohol; Allusions to Depression. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
° A/N: The only excuse I have for taking so long to get this out is because I had an expected mental health break. One that was needed. But I'm back! And I'm slowly updating some of my other stories! So be on the look out for those! Also, let me know if I missed any warnings! Enjoy!
The freshly wetted grass squished underneath his boots with each and every step. His shoulders were slacked, but his wrists were tense as he held the delicate bouquet with both of his hands. He was always nervous to be here, even though heâs done it so many times after finding it, the nervousness never went away. The nausea never stopped too⌠or the guilt⌠the fear⌠the sadness. Nothing ever stopped like he so desperately wanted to. Was this a curse he was stuck with for helping to bring another child into this cruel world?
He reaches the end of his line, just a few short inches away from where his toes could touch the stone; The stone etched with words and numbers that made his heart ache. And when his knees felt weak he lowered himself to the ground, sitting back on his heels. With a bittersweet expression on his features, he removes the old lilies and replaces them with your favorite, pearly white ones. The ones you always smelled like when you came back from playing in the park. Who knew he would miss such a fragrance?Â
He takes a deep inhale through his nose, and exhales quietly, gathering his thoughts. âHey, baby girl. Itâs been some⌠time since Iâve visited. I honestly thought I should wait until your half birthday, butâŚâ He trails off, frowning. âBut uh, Iâm heading off on another mission tomorrow, a⌠potentially dangerous one.â He chuckles dryly. âYou know the deal with those.â
He pauses like heâs waiting for your answer he knows he wonât get, letting the hot summer wind touch his face and through his chocolate locks. He waited for that as his cue to continue on.
âUh⌠soâŚâ
It hurts to even think about it.
âI was justâŚâ
Should he even say it?
âWondering again if it goes south I canâŚâ
Should he repeat what he always says to your grave?
âBe next to you?â
Another pause, this time it felt more painful. It always hurts to be here. It always hurts to say those words because it wasnât like he had a death wish, it wasnât like he was afraid of death, he just⌠didnât know if he deserved to be next to you. You were his whole world and he fucked it up. Fucked it up so bad that it makes him more anxious to want to hold you, and hug you, and kiss you, and just talk to you. He loves you.Â
Heâs loved you since the very beginning.
.
.
.
Bucky would have fallen back in shock if it wasnât for the small bundle in his arms. His ex-girlfriend had just said some words that he didnât need to hear right now. Couldnât even comprehend it.
No, it wasnât, âCan we get back together? I made a mistakeâ.
No, It wasnât, âThe baby isnât yoursâ.
No it wasâ
âWhat do you mean youâre leaving?â He asked, disbelief etched in his words. There was also an underlying sense of anger and betrayal, becauseâ
She couldnât be serious...
Right?
He watched the woman standing in front of him roll her eyes, snatching her purse from his living roomâs couch while responding, âI donât want her. I only had her because you wanted to keep the baby after finding out I was pregnant.â
He nearly doubled over when he heard the disgust in her voice. âSo youâre just going to leave?â Bucky asked, seeing his ex now putting on her winter coat. âBut our daughter needs a mother figuââ
âYOUR daughter.â His ex snapped, poison on her tongue. âThat babyââ She points furiously. âThat baby is a spitting image of you. All the way from the shape of her face to the way she smiles. Everything. Which is fine by me, I donât want someone looking like me out in the world.â
Bucky opened his mouth to speak as he followed her behind as she walked towards the front door. Unfortunately, she beats him to it. âAs for a mother figure, youâve got three sisters and a mom. That baby can pick up skills from them.â
She swings the door open, letting in the cold breeze of February. Snowflakes flew in, sticking to her clothes and curly hair. Bucky immediately stood sideways and drew you as far away as he could from the freezing air.
(Was she trying to freeze you?!)
âDottie!â He called out from the doorway, stopping her on the porch.
She wasnât even going to look back at him, wasnât she? Or even look at you? Did she truly not feel anything?
He doesnât know why but his voice cracked, and although he and his exâs relationship was always rocky, and they both knew that whatever was between them wasnât going to work out, he still doesnât want her to leave him alone with a one week old.
âCome onâŚâ He continued, quietly. âAt least stay for a couple months until I can do this on my own.â His lower lip quivered slightly. âPlease?â
He felt you shift a bit in his arms, probably from the weather, and waited for her to turn aroundâŚ
But she never did.
âGoodbye, James.â Dottie said, before trailing across the snow covered path to the sidewalk.Â
Bucky watches her disappear into the night, his feet glued to the floor even when part of his mind told him to run after her. It would be a lie if he said that he didnât want to go after her, thinking that maybe sheâll change her mind if actually begs, but the mere thought went out the door when you started to get fussy and cry.
Something deep within him kicked in, probably that parental instincts heâs heard about from his own parents, and all his attention was turned to you cradled in a lilac colored blanket.
âHeyâŚâ He whispered, readjust his hold so that he could gently brush theirâ
No.
Thatâs officially gone out the window.Â
Itâs just his daughter. His.
He readjust his hold so that he could gently brush HIS daughterâs cheek. To brush your cheek like a soft paint brush across a canvas. âHey. Donât cry.â He says, soothingly.
He makes a soft shushing sound as he closes the front door with his hip, before carefully guiding himself to sit near the fireplace. He lays you cautiously in his lap, almost in awe as he sees your eyes peeking open for the first time.
(Y/E/C) eyes.Â
So beautiful like the world itself. He almost wanted to start taking pictures.
Maybe later though.
He chuckles sadly, tears in his own as he brushes your cheeks again. âDonât cry. Donât cry, I got you.â He said, smiling down. âI got you, baby girl.â
You cooed quietly, staring back at him with a bit of curiosity. The look you were giving him melted his heart, but it also made him feel like he didnât deserve any of this.
âIâm sorryâŚâ He croaks, sniffling. âIt looks like itâs just going to be me and you, doll. Iâm so sorry. I hope you can forgive me.â
You made the cute sounds that took his breath away again, taking up his whole surroundings. However, if it wasnât for his military training, he probably wouldnât have even heard someone tumbling down the stairs. Bucky glances at the living room entrance, finding a certain skinny blond that he called his best friend. He saw his chest move slightly, and could almost hear him panting from here.
âS-Sorry.â Steve exhales, leaning against the door frame. âYour mom sent me down here when we heard everything go quiet.â
Bucky smiled a little. âShe got worried?â
Steve copies him with a chuckle. Â âYeah. She wanted to make sure you hadnât run off with her grandchild.â
The brunette shakes his head. âThat sounds like my mother.â He turns his attention back on you, but from the corner of his eye he could see his friend shifting uncomfortably, almost hesitantly, in his spot. His smile grows. âCome here.â
âWhat?â The blond said, genuinely confused.Â
âCome here, Steve. You can see her.â
He stiffens up a bit, looking unsure. âH-Her⌠A-Are you⌠are you sure?â Steve asked, pointing towards the stairs in the hallway. âI-I shouldnât be the one seeing your baby first. Shouldnât Iââ
âGet your ass over here, Rogers.â Bucky said, almost wishing he could free his hand up and drag him by the ear (he was always so timid and too cautious sometimes).
Not even daring to question his best friendâs wish, Steve wandered over and took a seat on the couch next to Bucky. He leans in close, examining the small bundle in the soldierâs arms.
Steveâs big blue eyes lit up with joy. âWow, Buck. Sheâs adorable.â He said, as you scrunch up your nose to show off your cute, chubby cheeks.
âShe is.â Bucky said, fighting back the stinging sensation in his eyes again. He now wondersâŚ
(Is this what it's going to feel like all the time now?)
After a moment of silence, Bucky threw his friend through another loop. âWanna hold her?â
Steve held his hands up in defense almost immediately after those words left his tongue. âOh, no. I shouldnât.â
âI trust you.â Bucky holds you out a little, a reassuring look on his face.
Steve raises a cautious eyebrow. âYou sure?â
âYes.â Bucky laughs. âIâll show you.â
Bucky then takes his time showing Steve how to hold you, giving him pointers and readjusting everyone once and awhile until he has you in a good position. The blondâs nerves seemed to vanish into thin air when he started to see that you were looking at him with the same curious eyes you made at your father. Those eyes of yours could melt anyoneâs hard shells at this point.
Steve chuckles, and grins as he gets butterflies in his stomach from you. âWhatâs her name?â He asks, sparing a glance at your dad for a split second. âDid Dottie ever give her one?â
Bucky shakes his head sadly. âNo.â He said, his voice feeling rather small at the moment. âNo she didnât. Iâm tasked with giving her one.â
âHave you thought of any? I know you were looking through some books a few weeks back.â
âI have and I thinkâŚâ He takes another good look at you, making sure the name was the right choice. âI was thinking⌠(Y/N).â
â(Y/N)?â The blond repeats back, testing it out like an echo chamber for his friend who nodded back.
âYeah. (Y/N).â Bucky tests it out his lips as other names start to form. â(Y/N)... Stevie Barnes.â
He looks up in surprise. âStevie?â Steve asks in disbelief again.Â
Bucky smiles. âWell, I heard Stevie is the girl version of Steve, soâŚâ
âButâŚâ His blue eyes look away again, looking completely torn.
Your father raises an eyebrow over this. âBut what?â
âYouâre flattering me way too much, Bucky.â
âAm I?â Bucky asked, tilting his head, slightly puzzled.
âY-Yes!â Steve said, shaking his head. âY-You canâtâ You shouldnât name your kid after me.â
Now it was his turn to be even more confused. âWhy not?â
âBecause, Iâmâ y-you have sisters! Parents. Y-You should name her after them. Not me.â
âBut, Steve, youâre my brother. BesidesâŚâ Bucky shifted in his seat, knowing what heâll say next is touchy. âI know⌠the doctor said you might not be able to have kids so⌠think of this as me⌠giving you a small piece of that.â
Silence befell, the subject was something that really hurt Steve when he heard it the first time; Hell, it even hurt his mother who was present at the time. It kind of haunted him for a while because what could he offer to a person who wanted to share his life?Â
Steve stares at him for a while before tearing up, laughing quietly and looking away. âJesus, Bucky. Youâre making me cry.â
A chuckle. âWell donât, âcause Iâll start crying again.â Bucky says, making them belly laugh.Â
The blond sniffles and tests the name out on his own. â(Y/N) Stevie Barnes.â He looks back down at you, his smile returning fully. âNot bad, Buck.â
Your father looked at him teasingly. âAnd whatâs that supposed to mean, Steven?â
âNothing.â Steve replies, holding back another laugh as he watches you start to drift back to sleep. âIâm really happy for you, man.â
âThanks.âÂ
A few moments more passed before you were carefully placed back in your fatherâs arms, where all he did was stare back at you as you pulled yourself to sleep. His happy face started to falter, and there was a heavy amount of doubt in his ocean blue orbs.Â
âI donât know what Iâm going to do, Steve.â He finally admits before swallowing the lump in his throat. He soon felt his friendâs hand on his leg, giving it a comforting squeeze.
âYou donât have to do this alone, Bucky. Youâve got your family and youâve got me.â Steve said, honestly. âAnd you know this. However, donât doubt yourself, you got this. Youâre going to be a great dad.â
Buckyâs lip curled up a bit, not caring that he was about to cry again. âSteve Rogers. The man who always knows what to say.â
âWhat can I say? I try.â He asked, coping with his expression.
âAnd you think Iâll be great? Even with me being a soldier and everything else that comes with it?â Your father asked, doubt was still just lingering on the surface no matter what he did.
Steve gives another gentle squeeze. âI know youâll be great. I know youâll do anything to make sure sheâll be okay. So donât worry too much, okay? (Y/N)âs going to be lucky she has you.â
Bucky hums, truly grateful for a friend like him.Â
And without an ounce of hesitation, he bends down slowly and kisses your sleeping forehead.Â
âI already loved you so much, (Y/N). I hope you realize that.â He whispers, lovingly. âAnd Iâll do anything to make sure youâre safe.â
He swears at that moment he saw you smile.
.
.
.
Bucky brushed his flesh fingers against the words in the stone, tracing your name and important dates. February 23rd, 1936. A snowy, snowy day. Cool and crisp. Although he had to wait and wait until you were a week old to hold you, a week old to realize he was on his own, a week to realize that he truly loved you. No upcoming birthday surprises could top this one. But if he loved you so much thenâŚ
Why were you cursed to be underground?
â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°
When Bucky got back home to his apartment, he found himself subconsciously grabbing the bottle of scotch in his cabinet. Although he knew he couldnât technically get drunk, the feeling he got after a couple glasses was close enough. Sometimes⌠he liked the quietness in his home, the time to relax, untouched and left alone to be himself; But most of the time, after so many years of being alone in his head, he loathes being alone. Friends and family were everything to him growing up. You were everything to him growing up.Â
He still wonders what it would be like if you were here, running around, asking him twenty questions, painting his toes, etcetera. He always wondered what you were like when you got older, the side of you he never got to see. He always wondered what those short years did for you.
Why did he have to get taken from you so soon?
.
.
.
You dove around your grandparents and auntsâ legs as you made your way out of the house, ignoring how your fatherâs duffle bag, that subconsciously you hated, was laying on the porch steps. You stumble around a bit on your five year old legs, before finding the person you wanted to see.Â
âUncle Steve!!!â You yelled, throwing your arms up.
âHey, Pumpkin.â He said, teasingly. He wastes no time to scoop you up, and carefully holds you close to him (itâs been years and heâs still afraid heâll drop you). âHave you gotten smaller?â
You scrunched up your nose at him, shaking your head. âNo.â You giggled at the silly nickname, and it all was because you were pocket size.
âNo?â Steve said, tilting his head, all cocky. âAre you sure?â
You giggled again. âYes.â
He grins. âJust checking.â
A sigh came from inside, before the two of you saw your father exiting his parents house, all dressed in his neatly ironed uniform. He looked miserable as he gazed at his bag on the porch.
âReady?â Steve asked, readjusting his hold on you as he frowned himself.
âUnfortunately.â Bucky mumbled, not ready for whatâs yet to come. However, when he faces you his whole expression changes for the better. âAnd thereâs my little girl!â
âPapa!â You yelled, holding your arms out. He takes you in his arms, hugging you gently. âAre you leaving, Papa?â
âOh, baby doll, I am.â He said, pulling back to look at you. âBut donât worry, Iâll be back as soon as I can.â He taps your nose. âOkay?â
You nodded slowly and smiled. âOkay!â
âGood.â He gives you a big kiss on your head, before peppering your face with some more making you laugh. âI love you, (Y/N).â
âI love you, too, Papa.â
âI love you more.â
He gives you one more kiss and one more hug before transferring you over back to Steve. They both give each other a strong hug and pat on the back, smiling bittersweetly.
âBe safe, Bucky.â Steve said, trying to hide his concern.
âI will. You too. The both of you.â Bucky said, grabbing his bag and making sure his voice was stern.
âWe will. Iâll keep an eye on her.â
âThank you, Steve.âÂ
He bid them goodbye, and you and Steve watched him walk down the path to the military jeep parked nearby. It was chilling almost to watch, and your five year old mind couldnât quite comprehend the heavy feeling you felt underneath the surface.
âUncle Steve?â You asked, prying his eyes away from the moving vehicle.Â
âYeah?â He said, softly.
You looked at him all puzzled, something wasnât adding up. âI thought you told me you were going with him?â You swear he mentioned something like that to you yesterday. Right?
His eyes look away from you, almost like he was recollecting himself before giving you his answer. âI am. But not yet.â He replies, honestly. His orbs finally meet yours again. âNot until I know you're okay.â
âReally?â You asked, tilting your head to the side with curiosity.
âSure am.â He smiles once more. âNow, what do you want to do? You want to see what Grandpa and Grandma are doing?â
Your eyes light up at their names. âYes!!!âÂ
He laughs at your enthusiasm. âOkay, okay. Letâs go see them.â
.
.
.
Bucky throws a bottle of scotch across the room, shattering somewhere. He didnât care though. Itâs not like he even batted an eye.
Five years old.Â
That was it.
Thatâs the last time he ever saw you.
And that hurt like a bitch.
â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°
He doesnât know whenâŚ
But everything suddenly justâŚ
Clicked.
Memories of his flooded in like a broken dam. He starts to recall who he was before and after the fall. Before and after the war. Before and after everything. So as he made his way to Siberia with his friend, Steve, he remembers something that was like a knife to his heart.
âI have a daughter.â Bucky said abruptly, cutting Steve off.
When he was on the run after the helicarriers fell, he remembers his time growing up in the early 1900s. The (multiple) times he saved his best friendâs ass from being picked on, or the way he took his younger siblings to the park, or helping his mother bake, or fixing the car with his dad. But there were a few memories he was confused by for a long time.
First he only heard little laughs, or someone trying to sing a childâs song. Then he saw little toys and dresses. Then he saw a little face with big, wondrous eyes. It didnât take him long to realize who she was.
He met with his friendâs eyes quickly, almost getting choked up by an emotion that had been under lock and key for so long. â...I have a daughter⌠donât I?â
Steve, who seemed taken back by his sudden string of words, opens and closes his mouth a few times, before settling his hand on his friendâs shoulder. âYes, Bucky. You do.â
Bucky looked away, the confirmation sending his mind spiraling again, and the Captain could tell. He decides to approach this carefully since he knows his friend isnât hundred percent in his right mind yet.
âDo you remember her?â Steve asked, watching him nod slowly. âWhat do you remember?â
Bucky thinks long and hard about this. What did he remember about you?
âUh⌠I remember she was tiny⌠always tiny.â He chuckles quietly, making Steve smile. âShe uh⌠had um⌠(Y/H/C) hair that was kind of wavy when she got older. Um⌠big, bright (Y/E/C) eyes. She⌠she um⌠smiled a lot⌠I think?â
âYeah, she did Buck. All the time.â Steve said, patting his shoulder gently as he could see the joy it was bringing to his friend.
Bucky laughs again. âUh⌠you used to call her by a weird nickname. What was it? UhâŚâ He purses his lips. âPo⌠Potato?â
Now it was the blondâs turn to laugh. âN-No. No. Close⌠Starts with a P, though.â
âUmâŚâ His eyes light a spark. âOh. Yeah. I remember now. We took her to her first Halloween pumpkin patch when I could hold in one hand because she was so tiny.â
âYep. Thatâs what I called her.â He says with a nod. âYour Ma tried to dress her up like one.â
âOh, yeah, she did.â
And then it got quiet, and Steve saw the bright light in his friendâs eyes go out when the wheels started to turn again. He held his breath, knowing what he was recalling next.
Bucky swayed on the balls of his feet a bit, looking at the floor. âShe was five the last time I saw her.â He says, bittersweetly. âI remember, the night before, I took her to Coney Island, and we just played games and ate until our bellies ached. I got her a stuffed bear on the ring tossâŚâ
Steve squeezed his shoulder, trying to give him some comfort because he knew there was no stopping any memories of you.
âShe was with you when I left. I gave her hugs, and kisses andâŚâ His voice starts to break. âI love youâsâŚ. UmâŚâ
âBuckyââ Steve begins, hating how hurt he looked.
âSteve. W-Was that last time you saw h-her too?â
Steve closed his mouth, thinking to himself. He couldnât lie. He was a terrible liar which the brunette always sees through. So what was the point of even trying?
Cap shakes his head. âNo. I saw her when she was nine. âBout to be nine.â
âN-Nine?â Bucky asked, just above a whisper. âW-Why?â
âUmâŚâ He swallows. âI had toâŚ. I had to tell your family about, you know⌠the train⌠and you.â
The Soldier went distant. âO-OhâŚâ
âI wanted to make sure I was the one to tell them.âÂ
âOhâŚâ Bucky started to get teary eyed. âD-Did you tell her?"
Steve held his breath again. It was like his mind started to relive that day.
You looked so happy to see him, but he watched that expression vanish when you saw his sadden face. It hurts to take you by the hand and into your room. It hurts to see how youâve grown, and to think he got to see it and not your dad made the situation a whole lot worse.
He wanted to lie and tell you your dad was hurt.Â
He wanted to lie and tell you your dad was still at war and wonât be home for a while.
He wanted to lie and say everything was going to be okay.
But he couldnât, and felt like it was his duty to tell you what happened to your father, to his best friend.
He knew if the situation was reversed, Bucky would be doing the very same thing now.
And when he did tell you, he hated how you kept on denying it. You called him a liar, and god he wished he was.
âI-I didâŚâ He said, feeling his eyes sting as well.Â
Bucky jaw clenches. âA-And?â
Steve looks away for a second. âShe cried for three hours.â
âO-OhâŚâ Bucky looks away too. âI always h-hated when s-she cries.â
With his hand still on the brunette shoulder, he gave him another comforting squeeze. âSheâŚâ Cap chokes, his memories flooding in all at once. âS-She um⌠she gave me her blanket, the one that she came home with. She um, wanted me⌠to promise to come back to her. But um⌠I failed at that, I guess.â
Bucky frowns. âSteveâ"
âI tried finding her, Buck.â He finally looks at him. âWhen I came out of the ice, SHIELD managed to give me some of my things from the war. I kept the blanket in my chest, so⌠I tried finding her, because I didnât want to break that promise to (Y/N), butâŚâ
âYou didnât find anything?â
Steve shakes his head. âNot exactly.â He whispers, exhaling shaky.Â
âNot exactly?â Bucky asked, wanting an answer. âWhat does that mean?â
Now it was Steveâs turn to look all messed up. Especially since he couldnât make eye contact again. He swallows a lump in his throat and says, âIâm so sorry, BuckyâŚâ
âSorry about what?â Bucky couldnât understand what was happening and it was honestly starting to scare him. âWhat are you sorry about?â
â(Y/N)...â He sighs quietly, and forces himself to look in his best friendâs eyes. âPneumonia. She, uh⌠got pneumonia in â54 and passed.âÂ
Now the knife has dug deeper, chilling his bones too. âSheâs dead?â He said, barely audible.Â
âYeah. Sheâs dead.â The Captain replies, dispirit. âI found the spot where sheâs buried. I can take you there if youââ
âThank you, Steve.â The soldier says, ignoring the blondâs confused state. âI mean it. You were always so good to her, and to think you never stopped looking after all this time means A LOT to me. Do you understand? You helped my daughter when she was at her lowest, and you even found her for me. I thank you for that.â
Steve smiles bittersweetly. âNo need to. I said Iâll always be there for the both of you.â
Bucky returns the gesture. âAs will I.â
âNow, letâs finish this, shall we?â
.
.
.
â-Bucky.â Steve says, touching his shoulder and getting a small jolt from the man. Surprised eyes fell on him as he returned with concerned ones. âYou ready?â
âUhâŚâ Bucky looked around quickly, remembering it was standing in the locker room changing. He didnât even realize he had zoned out. âY-Yeah.â He said, zipping up the front of his Quantum Suit. âYeah, Iâm ready.â
Steve tilts his head, the worriedness never vanishing. âYou sure?â
âYeah.â He nods. âLetâs get this mission completed.â
And those were the words that would change -everything-.
The amount of times I've yelled "I'd marry him!!" To a completely deranged and evil fiction man is quite concerning.
5 y/o y/n hears the saying 'step on a crack, break your mother's back' and one day when she's playing she steps on a crack on the side walk, the thing is Natasha's on a mission, and Y/N's convinced she just killed Natasha lol
Cracked Concrete
WinterWidow x Daughter!Reader
Summary: A rhyme you had overheard at preschool sent you to believe that you had hurt Natasha when you stepped on a crack playing outside.
âââ
It was a quiet morning, you were dressed in your favourite superhero pyjamas, ready to start your day. Bucky sat at the kitchen table, nursing a cup of coffee while keeping an eye on you. Natasha had left early that morning for a mission, leaving a kiss on both your and Bucky's foreheads before she slipped out silently.
Your day began with the usual routine: breakfast, a bit of morning cartoons, and then some playtime outside. Outside the Avengers Compound had become your personal playground. You loved hopping, skipping, and drawing chalk masterpieces on the concrete canvas.
As you played, you remembered a rhyme you'd heard at preschool: "Step on a crack, break your mother's back." It had sounded silly at the time, a fun thing to chant while skipping along the pavement. As you played hopscotch, your focus wavered and your little foot landed squarely on a crack in the pavement.
For a moment, you froze, the rhyme echoing in your mind. Your imagination, as vivid as a 5-year-old's is, conjured images of Natasha in peril. Your heart began to race, and tears welled up in your eyes as the panic began to set in. The thought of your mother being hurt because of a silly rhyme was too much for you to bear. âMama!â You cried.
Without another thought, you turned on your heel and sprinted back into the compound, your small sneakers pounding against the pavement as your tiny legs carried you as fast as they could. You burst through the door, your face streaked with tears, calling out for your father. "Daddy! Daddy!" You cried, your voice shaking.
Bucky was still sitting at the kitchen table with his cup of coffee, he jumped up at the sound of your distress. He quickly knelt down to your level, concern etched on his face. "Baby doll, what's wrong?" He asked, wrapping his arms around your trembling form.
"Daddy, I stepped on a crack!" You wailed, tears streaming down your rosy cheeks. "I broke Mama's back! I broke it, and now she's... she's..."
Bucky gently cupped your face in his hands, wiping away your tears with his thumbs. "Y/N, sweetie, listen to me," He said softly but firmly. "That's just a silly rhyme. Itâs not real. Mama's going to be just fine."
"But what if she's not?" You hiccuped, your eyes wide with fear.
Bucky's heart ached at seeing you so distressed. He scooped you up into his arms, holding you close. "I promise you, Mama is strong and nothing like that could ever hurt her," He reassured you. "She's on a mission right now, being the brave superhero she always is. Sheâll be home soon, safe and sound."
You sniffled, burying your face in your fatherâs shoulder. "Really?" You mumbled.
"Really," Bucky affirmed, his voice gentle and soothing. "Now, how about we call her together and see how she's doing?"
You nodded, your tears beginning to subside. Though you wouldnât be at full peace until you heard Natashaâs voice. Bucky pulled out his phone and dialled Natasha's number. After a few rings, Natashaâs familiar voice came through the speaker.
"Hey, Bucky," Natasha said, her tone bright despite the distance.
"Hi, Mama!" You piped up, your voice still a bit shaky but you had calmed down much more hearing Natâs voice.
"Hey, Malyshka!" Natasha replied warmly. "What's going on?"
You took a deep breath, "I stepped on a crack, and I thought I hurt you," You confessed.
Natasha chuckled softly. "Oh, N/N, I'm perfectly fine. You donât need to worry about me. Cracks canât hurt me, I promise."
"Really?"
"Really," Natasha assured you. "Iâll be home soon, and I canât wait to see you. I love you so much, Y/N."
"I love you too, Mama," You said, a smile finally breaking through your tears.
Bucky ended the call and kissed the top of your head. "See? Mama's okay."
You nodded, your fear replaced by relief. "Okay, Daddy. Thank you."
Bucky hugged you tightly, grateful that the immediate crisis had been averted. "Of course, baby doll. Now, letâs go back outside and play. I'll make sure no more cracks sneak up on you."
You giggled loudly, the sound like music to Bucky's ears. âSneaky cracks! Tell Uncle Tony to fix âem!â
Bucky laughed and took your hand, leading you back outside. âYeah, weâll tell Uncle Tony, he needs to get on top of these things.â
Hand in hand, You headed back out into the sunshine. Bucky made sure to steer you away from the cracks as the two of you played some hopscotch.
âAre you going to keep secretly writing notes about me or ask me that question youâve been too afraid to ask?â Y/N questions, her eyes never leaving the computer where she is tying in the new patient information. She is currently six hours into her ten-hour shift.
The boy sitting on the exam table freezes. His thumbs stop typing in his notes app as he looks at Y/N in surprise. âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
Y/N rolls her eyes, âMhm, sure. This is the fifth time youâve been in this week, but you always seem to leave with nothing wrong. You either have hypochondria or youâve kept coming back until I was your nurse.â
âMaybe the previous nurses and doctors didnât do a good job and sent me home without properly helping me.â He picks at the bottom of his shirt in a nervous habit.
âThe first time you came in was for pink eye, which has been noted that you didnât have that. The second time was for a rash on your arm that you didnât have.â Y/N says, looking over his previous visit notes, âThe third time was a bump on your knee that turned out to be your kneecap. The fourth time was for a broken wrist that turned out to be broken or even sprained. Now youâre here due to flu-like symptoms, but your vitals are all good and there is currently no indication of you being sick.â
He forces out a fake cough, âAre you sure about that?â
Y/N turns to look at him, âIâm sure. You do know this is an emergency room, right? We have actual patients that need help, and we are short staffed. We donât need some kid coming in trying to meet the Stark girl to get a good photo for his Instagram or whatever.â
âFirst of all, Iâm not a kidâweâre the same age. Second, this isnât for my Instagram, this is for my criminology class.â He says, dropping his act. He knew there was no point in tripling down on his lies.
âWell, your parents must have a lot of money or some really good insurance for you to be able to show up here five different times.â
âSomething like that.â
Y/N looks him up and down, contemplating what she should do. She should just send him home, but sheâs worried he will keep showing up until he gets what he wants. âThe school year just started, why do you need to speak with me for your criminology class now?â
âOur first assignment is to do a paper on a famous crime. Whatâs more famous than the kidnapping of Tony Starkâs daughter?â
âI can think of several.â Y/N lets out a sigh, turning her body to fully face him, âYou get five questions. If I donât want to answer one, then itâs still going to count as one of your questions. After that, you have to leave and also promise not to come back here unless you have an actual emergency.â
He smiles in victory, turning his phone back on, âDo you mind if I record this so I can type out your answers later?â
âSure.â
He opens the Voice Memos app on his phone, hits the record button, and holds it up between Y/N and himself. âOkay, first question, I am aware that the Avengers are currently relocating to a little outside of Beacon Hills, but have you been back to the other Avengers compound or the place you lived while with them?â
âNo, I have not been back.â
He opens his mouth to ask her to elaborate but decides against it in case she counts that as a question. âSecond question, what was your initial reaction when you discovered the truth?â
Y/N pauses as she thinks of an answer. For safety reasons, when they announced who she was, they changed the story of how it happened. Instead of telling the public she was re-kidnapped by Hydra, they told them about Bucky discovering the photo of her in Derekâs auto shop. Itâs part of the reason some people like to show up there.
To the publicâs knowledge, Hydra kidnapped her in hopes of raising her to be their soldier before she was able to escape on her own when they left her unattended outside. She was then found by a friend of Talia Stilinski and adopted by the Stilinskiâs. To the publicâs knowledge, Pepper didnât hand her over to Hydra, she was never experimented on, she has no powers, and she didnât know about the Avengers because she was too youngânot because her memories were blocked.
âMostly confusion. Itâs not every day that someone shows up and claims to be your other family. Â Now Iâm just waiting for my biological family to do the same thing.â Y/N jokes.
âThird question, I know thanks to photos online that you spend some time with your brother, Peter, but have you spent any time with your sister, Morgan?â
Y/N debates on whether she wants to answer the question or not. The answer is no, she hasnât spent any time with her sister, nor has she met her. She has nothing against Morgan, and she doesnât blame her for Pepperâs actions, but sheâs not sure if Morgan feels the same way. According to Peter, she is close with her mother, and her relationship with Tony is strained due to his shortcomings as a father to her.
Y/N is unsure if Morgan blames her for those shortcomings. Itâs because of Tonyâs obsession with finding her that caused him to neglect to be a good father for Morgan. Itâs because of his resentment and anger toward Pepperâs nonchalance at Y/N being gone and her happiness toward the new baby that caused him to leave Pepper in the first place. Itâs because of his grief of losing her that caused him to be unable to hold her until she was three years old.
It wasnât until Morgan became a teenager did Tony start to step up as her father. He still isnât perfect, and he can never make up for her younger years, but he is a lot better. Y/N adds Tony and Peter moving to Beacon Hills as another reason for Morgan to be justified to hate her.
Y/N knows that if Derek or Peter knew her thoughts about Morgan, they would tell her that she canât blame herself for Tonyâs mistakes. The choices Tony made were his own, not hers. Right now, sheâs told Peter and Tony that the decision to meet, form a relationship, or anything is fully up to Morgan. She doesnât want to cause any upheaval in Morganâs life by inserting herself into it. If Morgan wants Y/N in her life, then she will be. If she doesnât want anything to do with her, thatâs okay. If she wants to meet her once and then never again, Y/N will do that too.
She does however knowâthanks to Peterâthat Morgan has decided that she prefers a private life away from the spotlight. While Peter attends all charity and public events in the Stark name, Morgan likes to stay home away from the crowds and paparazzi. She even keeps away from social media, so she doesnât see anything about herself or her family.
âUm, Iâm going to pass on that question. Morgan is a minor and prefers to stay out of the press. I donât feel comfortable talking about whatever relationship I may or may not have with her. Thatâs private and it will stay that way.â Y/N answers. âYou have two questions left.â
The guy huffs in frustration, âFine. Fourth question, what are your thoughts on the theories and videos people were making after it was first brought to the publicâs attention that youâre Y/N Stark?â
âI think the best word to describe I how felt, and still feel, about the things people were saying is disappointment. Iâm disappointed in how people were, and still are, talking about my family. Honestly, I donât really care what people say about me,â Thatâs a lie but she isnât going to correct herself, âbut I am disappointed in the way people talked about my family and the people I love.â
He nods his head in understanding, âOkay, last question, do you plan on changing your name back to Stark?â
No, she doesnât. To be honest, itâs not even a thought that has crossed her mind. Scott asked her about it once when he saw her driverâs license and her only thought was that she hopes Derek proposes before Tony asks so she has an excuse that wonât hurt his feelings.
âMaybe, I guess weâll see,â Y/N says instead. âNow, you can be on your way, and Iâll make sure to let the front desk know I refuse to see you if you come back with anything less than a life-threatening injury. Hopefully, that will keep you away and make you reconsider faking injuries and illnesses, and taking a room away from someone who actually needs it.â
He hits the stop button before turning off his phone and thanking her for answering his questions. He follows her out of the room and rushes out of the building to start working on his paper.
âWhatâs that about?â Melissa asks, watching the boy run out of the hospital.
Y/N rolls her eyes and sighs, âJust another person who wanted to interview me. I humored him for a few questions before I told him to not come back unless heâs dying.â She hands Melissa the boyâs file thatâs in her hand. âCan you put a note in his file to let the others know I wonât see him if he comes back unless necessary?â
âThatâs like the fourth one this month,â Melissa laughs in disbelief.
âWhat can I say, Iâm famous,â Y/N winks at her. She and Melissa both know how much she hates the amount of attention sheâs gotten since Kate exposed her. At one point in her life, she dreamed of being a star that everyone loved and was extremely famous. Now she wishes she could go back to being a nobody.
âWhen do you get off today?â
âI have about four hours left and then Iâm out of here. Iâve got to go home a prepare myself for family dinner.â Y/N says, grabbing a new patientâs clipboard.
âI heard Stiles telling Scott about that. Is this the first dinner with all of you together?â
âYep, and Iâm already regretting it.â
Melissa lets out a laugh, âIâm sure it will be fine, and if it isnât, you can tell me all about it tomorrow.â
âI actually have the next two days off, so it will be a few days until I can give you a play-by-play.â With her working so many shifts to make up for her unintended long absence, she decided she needed two days to take a break. Sheâs exhausted and just wants to sleep in for a day.
âI canât wait.â
---
âHey! Whereâs Stiles?â Y/N asks as she greets her dad. Heâs the first one to arrive for dinner and she expected Stiles to be with him.
âHe said that he could drive himself here, so I drove here straight after work.â The sheriff replies, pulling Y/N into a big hug.
âOkay, well, the others should be here soon if you want to go ahead and sit at the table, or I can turn the TV on, and you can sit in the living room and wait.â
âWhereâs Derek?â He questions.
âIn here!â Derek calls out from the kitchen.
The sheriff follows Y/N into the kitchen to see Derek checking on the rolls in the oven. âHow are you, Derek?â
âIâm good, sir. How are you?â Derek asks, shaking Noahâs hand in greeting.
âWell, Iâm still here so I guess Iâm good.â
âDad, why donât you sit down, and Iâll help Derek finish up,â Y/N says, gesturing her hand toward their dining table. She moves to help Derek when thereâs a knock on the front door. âNever mind.â
Walking toward the front door, she can hear two heartbeats on the other side. Opening the door, Tony and Peter are now standing in front of her, âHey. Thanks for coming.â She hugs them both as they enter the loft.
They had a few conversations after taking down Kate and the hunters, but they are still a little awkward around each other. Y/N and Peter not so much, but she isnât sure how to navigate a relationship with Tony. She doesnât want to come off as she doesnât care about him, but she also needs time to get used to having another dad.
With Peter itâs different. Theyâre close in age and they have the shared trauma from Hydra. She also feels like she talking to Stiles most of the time.
Y/N shuts the door behind them, she leads them into the kitchen. She pulls out her phone to text Stiles as they greet Derek and Noah. Tony and Peter sit down at the table, and she helps Derek bring the food over.
She looks down at her phone when it vibrates in her hand, âStiles says heâs a bit caught up and that we should start without him. Heâll be a bit late.â
âWhatâs he caught up with?â Derek asks, sitting at the head of the table next to Noah and Y/N.
âHe didnât say.â She hopes itâs just something to do with school and not supernatural-related.
âSo, Derek, when are you going to start working on your old house?â Peter asks Derek. Y/N has told him a bit about Derekâs plans, but she hasnât told him everything.
âUm, soon. Iâm waiting until after I hire someone to help out at the shop.â Derek replies. A few people have applied to the open position, but two of them ended up being Avengers fans who faked their resumes.
âYou know who would probably be interested in the position, Barnes,â Tony says. âHe would know what to do and heâs been looking for a job.â
Bucky hasnât applied to any yet, but he has a few saved. Heâd been thinking about taking a step back from the Avengers for a bit. After seeing the files and the videos of what happened to Y/N, they seemed to trigger some bad memories that he hasnât been able to stop thinking about. Heâs also had several nightmares about what they couldâve possibly done to Y/N if she wasnât rescued when she was.
Derek shares a small look with Y/N as if to ask for help with what he should say, âYeah, I could send him the listing to see if heâs interested, or itâs on our website too. At least, thatâs what Lydia told me.â
Y/N shrugs her shoulders a little when Derek looks back at her. Sheâs not going to tell Derek whether he should hire him or not, or even give Bucky a chance. Itâs Derekâs business so that decision is completely up to him.
Tony opens his mouth to say something else, but Y/N decides to interrupt him. Sheâs sure Tony is about to say something that he thinks will be helpful for Derek, and she knows Derek probably doesnât care to hear it. Derek likes doing things his way and he doesnât always love people injecting their opinions. âSo, Dad, is there anything youâd like to tell me?â
Y/N ignores the longing look in Tonyâs eyes as she speaks to the other man who raised her.
âUh, not to my knowledge, no.â Sheriff Stilinski doesnât know what sheâs talking about. The tone in her voice says he should, but he canât think of anything.
âReally?â Y/N looks down at his left ring finger where his wedding ring used to be.
âRight, I may or may not have a date tomorrow night.â
âGood for you,â Derek says proudly, patting him on the back. They havenât always seen eye-to-eye, but he and the sheriff have grown closer after he started dating Y/N. It was rough at first, but they started to get along after the sheriff saw how well Derek took care of Y/N after she was attacked one night by a hunter. They bonded that night as Y/N rested. Itâs why Derek knows that the sheriff going on a date is a big deal for him.
âWhoâs it with?â Y/N asks with a teasing smile.
âItâs with someone you know,â Noah says, keeping it vague.
âWell, itâs not with Melissa because she wouldâve told me. But you also didnât tell me until now. Oh my god, youâre dateâs with Melissa.â
âNo, itâs not.â
âDeaton?â
âItâs with a woman.â
âWell, who else do I know thatâs at an appropriate age for you to date?â Y/N mutters mostly to herself.
Tony and Peter silently eat their food and watch the conversation with amused smiles on their faces. They like seeing Y/N with a smile on her face. Itâs a lot better than what she looked like when dealing with Hydra, the hunters, and Derek getting shot with an arrow.
âItâs Lydiaâs mom,â Derek states.
Noah looks at him a little shocked. He didnât expect Derek to guess correctly or even chime in. âHowâd you know?â
âI didnât, but I do now.â Derek sends a triumph wink toward Y/N. Sheâs a little surprised heâs showing this side of himself with Tony and Peter here. With strangers, and sometimes the pack, he prefers to only let them see him as the tall, broody guy who doesnât have many feelings.
âJust donât tell Stiles. I havenât told him Iâm going on a date yet either.â He looks pointedly toward Y/N.
âFine. My lips are sealed.â Y/N pretends to zip her lips for added effect. âWhat about you Peter? Howâs MJ?â
The last time Peter had talked to her about MJ he wasnât sure about the direction of their relationship. He loves her, but sheâs still in college going for her masterâs and heâs moving to Beacon Hills to be closer to his sister. They hadnât decided if they wanted to try long-distance, have Peter go back and forth, or if they should call it quits for now.
Y/N told him that she shouldnât be the reason his relationship with MJ should change. He just replies that he thought she was dead for several years and has missed out on being in her life, so he doesnât plan on missing anymore.
âSheâs good. We still havenât decided what weâre going to do yet.â Peter replies, keeping his eyes down on the food on his plate to avoid looking at her.
âHow has it been at the hospital? Are people still showing up and harassing you?â Tony asks, turning the attention away from Peter because he can feel he doesnât want to talk about MJ.
âYeah, we had a guy come in today asking me questions. Itâs the fifth time heâs been in this week.â Y/N rolls her eyes in annoyance.
Tony frowns at her answer. He offered her a job to work with the Avengers in their medical wing to avoid the crazy press and fans and to spend more time with her, but she declined. She likes her job, and she likes that she can help her brother and friends by having her job.
âHeâs been in five times?â Derek questions, his tone on the protective side.
âYeah, heâs some college guy who wanted to interview me for some school project.â
âCollege guy?â âDidnât the school year just start?â Derek and Peter question at the same time.
âHe said it was for a paper for his criminology class. I let him ask me a few questions and then told the front desk not to let him back unless heâs dying.â
âWhat questions did he ask you?â Peter asks.
âLike âhow did I react when I found outâ and âhow did I feel about the videos people were making about me.â I gave him five questions and only answered the ones I wanted to.â Y/N shrugs like itâs no big deal. âI only did it so that heâd stop wasting the staffâs time with his fake injuries and illnesses.â
âHas Stiles told you if heâs on his way?â Noah asks, changing the subject.
Y/N checks her phone and sees that Stiles hasnât texted her, âNope, but you know how he gets. He probably lost track of time, or heâs still caught up in whatever heâs doing.â
The table goes quiet, and everyone continues eating. No one knows what to say. This isnât the first dinner theyâve had together, but they all typically end in silence. They do some polite small talk in the beginningâmostly everyone only speaking to Y/Nâthen finish their food in silence.
Derek takes his and Y/Nâs empty plates to the sink when they're done. Y/N packs up some of the leftovers for her dad to take home.
âI should go. Iâve got a long shift in the morning.â Noah says. He pats Derek on the shoulder as a goodbye. He takes the leftovers from Y/Nâs hands and follows her to the front door. âIâm assuming youâre going to show up to the station before my date tomorrow.â
âYou know me so well.â Y/N smiles, hugging him goodbye. âSee you tomorrow. Love you.â
âLove you too.â He closes the door behind himself as he leaves. Y/N turns to Tony and Peter who are ready to leave as well.
âThanks for having us over. Dinner was good.â Tony says, putting his jacket back on that he took off while eating.
âThanks for coming,â Y/N says, hugging them both goodbye. âMy schedule is starting to slow down so Iâll let you know when Iâm free for us to do something.â She notices Tony perk up at the thought of spending more time with her.
She waves at them goodbye before closing and locking the loft door. Sighing in exhaustion, she turns to see Derek standing and staring at her with a familiar lovestruck look in his eyes.
âI feel like I could sleep for a week,â Y/N says, slowly walking over to him.
Derek wraps his arms around her when she reaches him, âWell, Iâve done the dishes, so how about we go upstairs, take a nice hot bath, and then get you to bed?â
âKeep saying things like that and Iâll get on one knee right now and ask you to marry me.â
âI prefer when you get on both knees.â
Y/N scoffs at his joke, âJust take me upstairs to a bath. If you treat me right, maybe the bath could turn into something more.â
âIâm holding you to that,â Derek says. Y/N lets out a laugh when Derek wraps his arms around her thighs and picks her up, carrying her upstairs.
---
Y/N slowly opens her eyes to see Derek asleep next to her. She smiles a little at how cute he looks when heâs asleep. Turning to the clock on her bedside table, she notices that itâs almost midnight. Sheâs only been asleep for a little over an hour and sheâs not sure what woke her up. As she turns back to Derek, their bedroom door flies open.
âY/N?â Stiles calls out from the doorway.
âWhat the fuck Stiles?â Y/N groans, clamping her eyes shut when he flicks on the bedroom light. She can feel Derek waking up next to her. âWhy the fuck are you here so late?â
Stiles walks into the room and sits on the bed next to Y/N, âI feel like Iâm going crazy and youâre the only one that believes me.â Y/N can smell that he reeks of anxiety.
âGo home,â Derek groans, wraps an arm around Y/Nâs waist, and pulls her in closer to him, pushing his face into the back of her neck to try and hide from the light.
Y/N sighs, using her hands to block the ceiling light, âYou can tell me whatâs going on after you turn off the light.â
Stiles huffs in frustration but gets up and turns off the light before sitting back on the bed, âThereâs something off about Theo but no one believes me. Scott thinks I should give him the benefit of the doubt and that, even if he is bad, everyone is savable.â
âDoes some of this have to do with why you didnât show up to dinner?â
âSorry about that. Me and Liam followed him around to see what heâd do.â
âAnd what did he do?â
âWe may have followed him to the bridge near where his sister was found.â Stiles mumbles, fiddling with the drawstrings on his hoodie.
âHe couldâve noticed you following him and put on a âgood guyâ act,â Y/N says, trying to think of something that would support Stilesâ theory.
âDonât encourage him,â Derek mumbles sleepily behind her.
âI broke into the administration office and found the transfer form his dad signed and compared it to a speeding ticket he signed eight years ago. The signatures are completely different.â Stiles says. He knows heâs right about Theo and he doesnât get why Scott doesnât believe him.
âOkay, I believe you. Look, Iâm exhausted so how about we get some sleep and talk about this some more later? Youâve got school tomorrow, so you need some sleep too.â Y/N says as gently as she can. She doesnât want him to feel like she doesnât believe him either, but she might fall back asleep any minute now. âYou know you are welcome to the guest room. Itâs practically yours now anyway.â
âCan I sleep in here tonight?â Stiles asks shyly.
âNo,â Derek answers quickly.
âNot like in your bed, but like can I drag the guest roomâs mattress in here and sleep on it on the floor?â
Even in the dark, Y/N can see the vulnerability in his eyes, âYes, you can sleep in here.â Stiles smiles and runs out of the room toward the guest room.
âYou shouldâve said no,â Derek groans.
âHeâs worried about his friends and senior year has been giving him a lot of anxiety after asking Dad about his high school buddies.â
âHow has that given him so much anxiety that he stinks of it?â
âDad told him that he no longer speaks to any of his friends from high school and heâs scared him and his friends will end up the same way.â
Derek sighs, âFine, but him staying in here is a one-time thing.â
Y/N starts to reply when Stiles comes back into the room, pulling the guest bedroom mattress behind him with one hand and his pillows and blankets in the other. He puts the mattress against the wall that faces Y/Nâs side of the bed.
He puts his pillows down on the mattress before laying down and wrapping his blankets around himself, âOkay, goodnight. Donât do anything gross since Iâm here.â
Y/N rolls her eyes at his last sentence, âGoodnight Stiles.â
As she starts to drift back off to sleep, she hears Stiles speak again, âY/N?â
âWhat?â
âDid you notice that Dad stopped wearing his ring?â
âYeah,â Y/N replies gently.
âDo you think heâs met someone?â
âYouâd have to ask him that.â She wouldâve responded with yes, but she promised her dad earlier that she wouldnât tell Stiles because he wanted to be the one to do it.
âI just want him to be happy,â Stiles says, staring up at the ceiling.
âMe too.â
Thereâs a moment of silence before Stiles says, âI miss Mom.â
âMe too.â
âOkay, goodnight,â Stiles rolls over to his side to face the wall.
âGoodnight,â Y/N pushes herself back into Derekâs loose embrace. After Stiles laid out the mattress, he was out like a light. She starts to drift off again when Stiles interrupts her again.
âHey Y/N?â
âYeah?â
âThanks for believing me.â
âAlways.â
Summary: Natasha adopted you from the Red Room when you were only a baby, but when she and Bucky had their own child, she started forgetting about you.
Part 2
â
"I hate you!" You shouted, slamming the door behind you
"Y/N, we're not done!" Natasha, your mother, shouted from downstairs "Get back here!"
This was a daily occurrence by now.
The, once nonexistent, daily arguments between you and Natasha only got worse over the years.
Although Natasha isn't your biological mother, she raised you like her own after she saved you from the Red Room.
You were only 2 months old when she adopted you and everything went well. You both formed a happy little family for a while.
That was until Natasha started dating Bucky a little after your 10th birthday and she slowly started spending less and less time with you.
But not Bucky was the factor that determined your mother-daughter relationship with Natasha to drift apart.
The main reason behind everything was your 5-year-old baby sister, Tanya, who came into the world a few months after Natasha and Bucky started dating, with a little bit of help from Tony and his technology that, nowadays, seems to defy all odds.
Tanya's arrival only strengthened the bond between her parents, who had a romantic history that started years before even you were born, and, at the same time, weakened the bond between you and Natasha.
You knew the drill by now.
'Tanya is perfect.'
'Tanya is ours.'
'Tanya is innocent.'
Their voices echoed in your brain like a broken record.
Tanya knows that she can get away with everything and Tanya does get away with everything.
Since her birth, it was as if Natasha had completely forgotten about your existence.
It began by ignoring you while she focused her attention solely on Tanya.
She wouldn't feed you anymore, wake you up for school, or cuddle you at night.
She didn't even notice that you changed.
But, how could she, when Tanya was everything she noticed?
â
You stared at yourself in the mirror.
Determination was etched on your pale face as you picked up the blade that was on your sink.
It became a relief for you.
Sliding that blade on your wrist helped you forget about the unbearable pain in your chest.
The crimson blood that was pooling from the cuts held your attention. The pain of being abandoned by two different mothers was momentarily shoved at the back of your mind.
You started harming yourself 2 years ago when you couldn't take Natasha's ignorance any more.
You haven't told anyone and it's not like they would care if they knew anyways. Tanya was the center of their world, not you.
She was the perfect baby, while you were the adopted bastard and a grand mistake that Natasha made.
Natasha never admitted it out loud but you understood the message from the way she was treating you.
The blade fell down from your hand into the sink.
'Is it all because she never gave birth to me?'
And you stared at the trail of blood it left on the white sink.
'Are adopted kids not important, just because they're not blood related?'
You slowly understood.
'Will I ever be treated the same as Tanya?'
The only one left to understand was Natasha.
â
"Y/N, do you want to play with my dolls later?" Tanya asked you a few hours later, during dinner
You pulled at the sleeves of your hoodie even more, hiding your hands inside of them.
"Sure, Tatu." You gave the small child a shy smile "I think I'd like that."
"Tatiana." Natasha sternly looked at Tanya but the tone of her voice was soft "Remember we have a movie night tonight. You can play with Y/N another time."
"Can Y/N come too?" Tanya's big, innocent eyes sparkled while she asked, as Natasha refilled the girl's glass of orange juice
"I think she has more important things to do." Natasha replied, not even bothering to ask what you want "We're going to have a mother-daughter night. It's going to be just us two, sweetheart. Wouldn't it be fun?"
"Yay!" Tanya cheered, throwing her arms in the air
But as she did, she accidentally knocked over the glass filled with juice.
"Oh oh..." Tanya said, looking at the spilled juice "Sorry, Mama."
"Don't worry, baby girl." Natasha smiled, sitting up to clean the mess "Accidents happen."
"That's not what you said the last time when I accidentally knocked over my glass of water." You bitterly spat out at Natasha
"You have no right to talk, Y/N." Natasha snapped at you "Shut up!"
"Natalia, honey, calm down." Bucky, who was sitting beside Natasha, put his hand on her arm "She didn't do anything wrong. She's just a kid."
"She's not a kid, James." Natasha shouted, turning her head in Bucky's direction "She's a grown-up teenager now."
"Talia, I think you are just overreacting right now." Bucky kept trying to calm his wife, sparing a glance in your direction
He looked down at your plate that was untouched, the effect of your lack of appetite obvious on your skinny and fragile frame.
"I think I'm full." You quickly sat up from the table
"Sit back down, right in this instance, Y/N." Natasha shouted at you "You don't disrespect your mother like that and get away with it."
"Well, lately, you didn't act like a mother at all." You shouted back at Natasha, pain evident in your voice, but Natasha was oblivious to it "All you care about is Tanya."
"Because she's my child!" Natasha screamed offended "It's only normal to care for her."
"I used to be your child as well!" You shouted, tears forming in your eyes "I still am your child."
"You're not mine!" Natasha shouted and you widened your eyes shocked "You're not anything to me! You aren't my child because you don't have my blood. I didn't carry you or feel you grow day by day inside of me. But with Tanya, I did. You are just a mistake, Y/N!"
"You are the mistake here, Mom!" You cried, slightly lifting your sleeves as Bucky's eyebrows shot in his hairline "Look!" You showed your scarred wrists to the woman "This is all because of you! Why can't you love me like any mother should do? Blood shouldn't be important! You raised me, Natasha."
Bucky reached his metal arm slowly towards your extended arms to inspect your wrists but he was pushed aside by Natasha, who blocked out the fact that you were hurting because of her and ignored the truth, her intrusive thoughts winning as she said something she would never be able to take back.
"You were never truly a part of this family, Y/N!" Natasha shouted "Get that in your head. You are not our blood and you will never be. I saved you because I thought that you would change but I see that you didn't. You are the same. But I did change. I am not the same Natasha that I was in the Red Room. I am better."
Shaking your head, you took a few steps backward.
"I can't believe you." You whispered in disbelief
"Y/N..." Bucky breathed out, sitting up from his chair "Don't listen to your mother, she's just tired. She didn't mean what she said."
"She knew damn well what she was saying." You kept shaking your head, a lone tear falling down your cheek
"Then get that in your head once and for all." Natasha shouted once more, stubbornly fixated on her wrong belief that she was right
"I hate you!" You shouted at Natasha "I wish you never rescued me from the Red Room!"
And with that, you stormed out of the house and ran into the veil of darkness provided by the night.
Bucky tried to run after you but it was too late.
He found no sight of you or any clue where you might have run away to.
â
Bucky walked inside the house and looked at Natasha who was still oblivious to the damage she had done and muttered one question.
"What have you done?!"
Ours Part 3 Soft Dark Alpha Stucky x Omega
Ours part 3 Soft Dark Alpha Stucky x Omega Reader
Warning:Â kidnapping, forced relationship, panic attacks, abuse, forced marriage, obsessive behavior, controlling behavior,
you sat between the two Alphaâs too terrified to speak, they havenât said anything or done anything, were they waiting for you to speak, the blonde sighed, making you look to your left,Â
âFirst lets start off by introducing ourselves, Iâm Steve.â He says with a small smileÂ
âAnd Iâm Bucky,â He saysÂ
You gulp nodding your head,Â
âThis is the part where you tell us yours doll.â Bucky saidÂ
âY/Nâ You whisper,Â
Steve stands up crossing his arms,Â
âWell, Y/N there is going to be a few things that are going to happen.â Steve said,Â
You could feel your heart beating a mile a minute,Â
âFirst, no more suppressants.â Steve says
Your eyes widen,Â
How did they know?Â
You were about to say something, but Steve held his hand to stop you,Â
âLet me finish, since the new order we put in effect, you should be in a facility, but luckily for you, you are our mate.â Steve says,Â
You swallow thickly,Â
âSteve you are scaring her.â Bucky says,Â
Steve puts his hands on his hips taking a deep breath,Â
âBut you are staying here with us, There will be no running away, you will do as we say.â Steve says,Â
You look up at him making eye contact with him but quickly look away,Â
âDo you understand?â Steve asks,Â
You nod,Â
âWhy me?â You ask barley above a whisper,Â
Steve sits next to you making you stiffen,Â
âBecause you are our mate.â Bucky says,Â
âWe could smell past those suppressants.â Steve saysÂ
âWhy canât I continue taking them?â You ask looking over at him
âBecause they are no good for your body.â Bucky says as he plays with your hair,Â
âBut Iâve been on them since Iâve been sixteen.â You mumbleÂ
They both growl, and you stiffen and stop talking,Â
âYou are not taking them ever again.â Steve gritted out, you donât say anything more,Â
this was why Alphaâs terrified you, the power that radiates off of them, how dominant they are, and now you are stuck with two, but you guess itâs not too bad compared to your father and four brothers,Â
âC-can I go back to work?â You ask
You knew what the answer was going to be, Alphaâs are known to be dominate, controlling, you know you grew up with them,Â
âNo, you are not working that shit job again.â Bucky said crossing his arms,Â
âBesides they donât appreciate you.â Steve says
You stand up quickly,Â
âY-You canât do this,â You say your eyes darting, you were having a hard time focusing, everything was overwhelming you, not only did the suppressants keep you from smelling like a Omega, they stopped your heats, but they also helped with your anxiety and fears,Â
âYes we can.â Steve says standing up
You shake your head feeling the anxiety taking over,Â
âI-I have a life.â You say stumbling over your words,Â
âNow you have one with us,â Steve was now towering over you,
âI know this is going to be an adjustment.But you will get through this with our help.â Steve says brushing your hair to the side, you stiffen at his touch,
his nose in the crook of your neck,
You hear Bucky stand and he is behind you smelling the other side of your neck,Â
âThat drug we gave you not only knocked you out but pushed that terrible drug out of your system.â Steve saysÂ
He takes a deep breath in,Â
âYou smell much better.â He moans,Â
You are stiff and donât move, you are motionless, you were to afraid to move,Â
âFirst we need to give you our marks.â Bucky says kissing the side of your neck,Â
You close your eyes, feeling your lip quiver,Â
âThen we get married..â Steve says kissing the other side of your neck,
âAnd start our family.â Steve saysÂ
You shake your head,Â
âI- I canât.â You say
and quickly you are pinned to the wall Steve has you caged between his arms,Â
âI know this is overwhelming you, but this is going to happen.â He says glaring at youÂ
and suddenly you are back in your family home, where your father had you caged against the wall and back hands you making you fall to the ground,Â
âYou really think an insect like you can talk back to me!?â He saysÂ
He grabs you by the hair dragging you though the house opening the basement door and throwing you down the wooden stairs where you fall unconsciousÂ
You look at Steve you feel like you canât breathe, your chest heaving gasping like you canât breathe,Â
Steveâs eye look at you confused,Â
âSheâs having a panic attack.â You hear BuckyÂ
You slide down the wall gasping for air,Â
âHey, hey, doll look at me,â Bucky saysÂ
âDeep breath,â He saysÂ
âIn,â He takes a deep breath,Â
âAnd out.â He says letting out the breath,Â
âIn.â He saysÂ
I take a deep breath in,Â
âOut.â He saysÂ
âGood doll, Again,â He says and I do as he says,Â
Steve kneels in front of you,Â
âIâm sorry sweetheart I didnât mean to scare you.â He saysÂ
âCome on, Iâll make us dinner to make it up to you.â Steve saysÂ
You hesitantly take his hand and he helps you to your feet,Â
