Chapter Nine is here👀
🔥 65k 🔥❗️Explicit❗️Graphic Depictions of Violence❗️✨ Slow Burn ✨ Mafia Pete ✨ Angst with a happy ending✨
When he and his grandmother owe the minor family a debt, Pete finds himself pushed deeper into the mafia world than ever before. Working for Vegas sounds like Pete’s idea of Hell. But when feelings develop, and lives are on the line, will the Devil finally admit he’s met his match?
Vegas walked over to a table pushed against the wall opposite Todd, placing the briefcase onto it and opening it with a flourish. Pete stood behind him, peering over his shoulder with genuine curiosity. On the outside, it looked like an ordinary briefcase, one he imagined a fancy banker might carry. But as Pete watched Vegas pull out what looked like two transparent plastic raincoats, he quickly realised it was the furthest thing from normal it could possibly be. Underneath the coats were an assortment of knives, tools and hammers that Pete had never seen before.
“Do you like it?” Vegas hummed as he lined what Pete could only guess were his favourite tools into a neat line on the table.
“What is this, your torture kit?” Pete scoffed, gingerly picking up what looked like a surgical scalpel.
I may be slightly late in saying this, but happy 2024! Hopefully, this update can help beat the January blues🫶🏻 Enjoy! <3

Laws of Attraction (Part 3) - DR x lawyer!fem!reader
Summary: McLaren is in breach of contract, dr3 hires a lawyer to deal with the aftermath. Tropes ensue. Slow burn. Enemies(kind of) -> Friends/colleagues -> Lovers
Pairing: lawyer!fem!reader x Daniel Ricciardo
Warnings: language, alcohol consumption, sexual themes, NSFW for a hot sec
Word Count: 2,604
A/N: It’s been a while! I’m sorry I’ve been MIA, work/life took over. Thank you everyone who read Parts 1 and 2, and thank you for your patience. I realize there is likely going to be a part 4, and given the ~significant~ break I apologize for the cliff hanger. Friendly reminder that this is still new to me, so I appreciate any and all feedback both positive and constructive. Enjoy!
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Epilogue 1
You were thankful for the two-week break, again hoping the distance would subdue your growing crush. Much to your dismay, you had inceptioned yourself. The seed of physical attraction developed into more despite every attempt to nip it in the bud. To make matters worse, he texted you twice a day every day while you were away: one work related and one miscellaneous – a cute dog he saw cross the street, a yummy meal he had, a song he thought you might like, other general statements of opinion. Eventually the latter turned into plans for the U.S. grand prix. You didn’t quite understand his fascination with the whole cowboy americana aesthetic, perhaps because you grew up in the states so you were disillusioned to it. But it made him happy which you found endearing. He had asked for your input when he was undecided on which boots to get, and excitedly texted you pictures of an American flag bomber jacket and ostentatious belt buckles. You shot him with a few pleasant but short responses, whatever sparks joy or love that journey for you. Two days before press day though, you received a message that made you question your entire career path.
DR: Can I bring a horse to press day? You blinked a few times at your phone.
Y/N: To clarify, you want me to research FiA rules to see if you can bring a horse to the paddock and I will get paid for that time?
DR: Yes [insert horse emoji]
You swore this would be your last celebrity client. You couldn’t believe you went to law school for this.
Y/N: Yes, you can bring a horse. It just needs a badge pass like any other guest which you would need to submit 24 hrs in advance.
DR: What if you don’t know the horse’s name?
Y/N: Press day is in two days and you don’t actually have a horse?
This was by far the strangest client interaction you had ever had. First you were in disbelief from the initial question, and now here you were less than an hour later incredulous that your client didn’t actually have a horse lined up for his arrival to the circuit in forty-eight hours. Oh how the turn tables.
DR: Well I just thought of the idea, so no.
Y/N: It’s a horse, Daniel. I’m pretty sure you can just make up a name, it’s not like it’s going to perjure itself.
So when you got there for press day in your pink suit, prepared for meetings with other teams to discuss reserve seats, it took everything in your power to keep a straight face as Daniel strode in on Horsey McHorseface, with handler and country singer in tow. As a human being with a soul, it was objectively hilarious and you loved that he gave zero fucks, understanding that this very well may be his farewell tour. As his attorney though, you wished he had gone something for a little more subtle. He tipped his cowboy hat and winked as he passed you. You crossed your arms and rolled your eyes, but your body was on fire. The whole stunt was absurdly corny, it shouldn’t have done anything for you and yet you were undeniably turned on.
You went about your respective days, yours’ filled with back-to-back team meetings. You should have been laser focused, but you struggled to maintain your composure as you fought off visions of Daniel’s mustache adorned face between your legs. You reconnected at the end of the day so the two of you could debrief to discuss your findings. You kept your eyes on your notes in the hopes that avoiding his gaze would keep fantasies of you riding him like a show pony at bay. Flashbacks of the gentle roll of his hips on the horse threatened your demeanor, but you pushed through. Thankful to have made it through the exchange with your dignity mostly intact, you made your way towards the door when you thought the meeting had ended. However, you realized Daniel wasn’t moving.
You waited in the doorway, turning to face him. “Are you coming?”
He paused. “I actually wanted to ask you something.”
You closed the door again, thinking he had more questions about Red Bull or Mercedes. “You can ask me anything. What’s up?”
He took a deep breath. “…Do you want to come to the race on Sunday?”
You chuckled, assuming he was simply nervous about the race. “You know I come to all your races, it’s good facetime with the other teams.” You gave him a reassuring smile. Could you sense nerves?
“I know! Which is great. But I meant… as a guest. I thought maybe you could leave the work at home for a day. Consider it a thank you for all your hard work.”
“Oh.” Your breath caught in your throat. Your mind went through every worst case scenario, trying to think of an out. You drew a blank.
“Oh what the heck. Twist my arm, I suppose I could swing it.” You did your best to suppress your eagerness, despite feeling the heat rise to your cheeks. He grinned, but not before your phone rang. “Ah shoot it’s Joe. I gotta go, but I’ll see you Sunday!”
You passed Lando on your way out who suggestively wriggled his eyebrows at you, seeing both you and Daniel with dumb smiles plastered on your faces. You jokingly flipped him off as you continued your conversation with your boss.
-
You decided to leave the suits at home since you technically weren’t in client meetings. The Texas heat was oppressive – you wanted to be comfortable but not scandalous. You didn’t think the denim short/cowboy boot combo would be appropriate, and it really wasn’t your thing anyways. Instead you settled on a flowy yellow midi sundress. You stared at your work tote longer than you should have. Rarely did you go anywhere without it, you were paid handsomely in part because you were available 24/7. Throwing caution to the wind, you grabbed a small crossbody bag instead.
You made your way over to Daniel when you arrived at the paddock. He looked concerned as his eyes traveled over the crowds.
“Everything ok?”
“Oh, I was just looking for my lawyer, not sure if you’ve seen her. She’s about yay-tall, wearing a stuffy suit.”
You wrinkled your nose at his jab at your casual outfit, you lightly shoved him. “Very funny. I know it’s shocking but I do own and wear other clothes when I’m not working.”
“I wasn’t aware you didn’t work,” he jested.
“If we’re being technical about it…I can still get emails on my phone.”
In the midst of a comfortable chuckle, his hand found its way to the small of your back as he walked you to where you would be watching the race. You felt electricity course through you at the soft touch. You debated on whether to remove it, but decided it was an innocent enough gesture.
You both stopped when you got to Lando and his girlfriend. Realizing who you would be enjoying the day with, the optics of all of this began to dawn on you. It was too late to back out now.
“Well, this is where I leave you. You two behave yourselves.”
“No promises!” Luisinha called after the boys. You gave Daniel a small smile and wave as they walked away, your confidence shrinking. Luisinha, a literal model, was even more stunning in person. Internalized insecurities you thought you moved past long ago made themselves comfortable in your mind. You were proud of the person you had grown into, inside and out. You were all about women supporting women and you knew you shouldn’t compare yourself to her, nor did you have any reason to. All the same, you felt small and insignificant next to her. It also made you realize even if you were not his lawyer, there was no way in a million years you had a shot with The Daniel Riccardo, charming world renown Formula 1 driver who had his choice of any woman on the planet.
It was a humbling realization, which ultimately boded well for you. In setting your delusions aside, you resolved to have a lovely day of racing with hopefully a new friend and nothing more. You felt a calm rush over you and relished in the freedom that came without the weight of expectations.
You turned to Luisinha with a warm grin. “Hi, I’m y/n.”
-
Unfortunately, the good company did not translate to a good race. You were happy for Lando who placed a strong 6th, but with all the hype leading up to it, Daniel had only finished 16th. You heart broke for him as you waited by while he gave his post race interviews, his signature smile notably absent. He excused himself after the last interview, and you silently followed him. When you caught up, you found him sitting on the floor in quiet corridor, his back against the wall and his head in his hands. Saying nothing, you sat down next to him. The two of you remained like that for a while, a quiet understanding silently exchanged.
Eventually you check the time. The beginning of the weekend had held the promise of potential, with big plans to hit the town to match. But in a death by a thousand cuts, today’s race delt a final blow to the driver’s confidence. You were sure at this point a party of any kind was the last thing Daniel wanted. You cautiously broke the silence.
“I’m sorry about the race. We don’t have to do anything you’re not up for.”
He briefly hesitated, but weakly smiled for the first time since that morning. “Are you joking? I’m not passing up a chance to go out in my favorite city. I can rally, promise.”
You gave him a knowing glance, understanding he was putting on a brave face. What for, you couldn’t tell.
“Well, you have six hours left of work-free y/n. I’m at your disposal.”
“What happens in six hours?”
“I turn into a pumpkin,” you quipped. You bumped shoulders and smiled. With that, he stood up first and offered his hand to pull you to your feet. Without letting go, he started walking.
“Excuse me, where are we going?”
He chimed back with a line you had heard before: “I know a place.”
-
You ended up in a dive bar with some of the other drivers and their significant others. It was the first time you had met a lot of the others aside from Lando. Perhaps it was because they weren’t your clients, but you found yourself somewhat starstruck. It’s not that you hadn’t seen them around the paddock, but it felt like the first time you were truly brushing elbows with them. You were sure Lewis couldn’t have such flawless skin up close, nor could Carlos’ hair be so voluptuous, yet there they were in the flesh right next to you. You needed a drink to loosen up, and the McLaren crew had had a rough day. Coming in hot, you ordered a round of pickle back shots.
Luisinha was equally fascinated and disgusted. “What is this again? And why are there two? And why is one… green?”
“First you do the shot of whiskey, and then you chase it with a shot of pickle juice. The pickle juice neutralizes the burn from the whiskey and it has electrolytes so it’s kind of healthy!” She hesitantly sniffed the pickle juice and grimaced. You laughed, “Don’t ask questions, just drink. You’ll love it!”
A few more shots and beers later, your inhibitions had dissipated and you were dancing sloppily with Luisinha, feeling the base from the live band through the soles of your shoes. Work, for the first time in months, was the furthest thing from your mind. As you twirled and jumped and sang off key to your heart’s content, you failed to notice the familiar presence of your client approaching.
“Is it ok if I join? I come bearing gifts,” Daniel asked as he shimmied his way into your circle, handing out another round of beers. You can’t help the ear-to-ear smile that makes its way to your face.
“Come dance with us!” you shout over the sound of the bar. Luisinha raises an eyebrow. You both got along swimmingly during the race, and in that time you had clearly conveyed to her that you were Daniel’s lawyer and nothing more. “I’d get on that if I were you,” she teased at the time. You had laughed it off and dismissed it immediately. But seeing the two of you now with your rosy cheeks and lazy smiles, she was fully invested in stirring the pot.
The night’s debauchery continued, Luisinha secretly observing your exchanges. So when Lando tried talking to Daniel about race things, she not-so-discreetly intercepted.
“Honey, why don’t we go grab some more drinks?” Lando, clearly confused, was not picking up what she was putting down.
“What? But I just got us another rou-“
“Pleeeaaase, I’m so thirsty I need some water!” At this point she simply grabbed his wrist and dragged him away, but not before throwing a wink in your direction.
In your drunken stupor, you weren’t exactly picking up what she was putting down either. All you knew was that you were having a blast. So you decided to keep dancing with Daniel, ignorant to the fact that the crowd had begun to thin. It started with the two of you attempting and failing miserably at line dancing. Which led to you trying to teach him square dancing that you learned in the fifth grade. You lost track of how many times you stepped on each other’s feet and between fits of laughter, you didn’t realize how your hands were comfortably intertwined or the distance between your bodies decreasing.
He spun you away and back in. As you twirled into him a final time, your chests crashed into each other and your hand landed on his shoulder while his found its way to your waist. It was only in that moment with your faces inches apart that you became suddenly aware of your proximity. Feeling his breath tickle your face, you felt like your heart was going to beat its way out of your chest. Your gaze lowers to his plump lips then back to his eyes, counting the freckles. Your laughter slowed, unsure of what was so funny a minute ago.
You broke eye contact to look at the hand resting on his shoulder. What happened next felt like an eternity, but likely only lasted a few seconds. In one moment, you were relishing the feeling of his strong muscles under your touch and the warmth emanating from him, taking note of the rise and fall of your chests in unison, your pulse extending to the furthest reaches of your fingertips. Then, in a quick turn for the worst, your eyes fell to your wrist. According to your watch, you should’ve turned into a pumpkin two hours ago. The haze of the day and the bar and the alcohol lifted, reality quickly setting back in. In a sobering moment, you met his eyes again desperately trying to telecommunicate what you couldn’t put into words. Was he aware of the delicate bubble you two had created for yourselves? Did he realize how fragile it was? Did he know it just burst?
You stepped away from him. “I’m sorry,” was all you could muster before you turned and left.

What is going on down at The Garrison?
Tommy fucking Shelby.
You wished you had never seen him, never heard his voice again. You were doing so much better, thriving almost, before his presence came sauntering back into your life. Ever since you had seen him at The Garrison that evening, things had taken a turn for the worst. You couldn’t look at Jacob without fantasizing that it was Tommy in his place. You ached to feel the familiarity of his skin, etched with battle scars, underneath your fingers. His cold blue eyes that only ever used to hold warmth for you, his lips that only ever used to touch yours. You couldn’t bring yourself to feel the same about Jacob as you had done with Tommy, no matter how much you tried to force yourself too.
You had to keep reminding about how he had made you feel, when he had chosen Grace over you. The countless nights you had laid awake, critiquing every aspect of her, in a fruitless attempt to make you feel better. The truth was, you were nothing compared to her and Tommy knew that. That’s why he had chosen her, and left you discarded as if you had never meant nothing to him.
It had been a few days since you had last set foot in The Garrison, and you were so determined to continue avoiding the place. Those four walls held too many secrets, and painful memories that you had no desire to unearth and expose to the world. Ever since that evening, the sight of Tommys face dropping for a split second, when he realised just who Jacob was, kept on replaying in your mind. You couldn’t stop yourself from wondering, if that slight show of emotion, meant anything to him.
A phone call from Arthur changed everything.
“We need you down here tonight. See you at six” he had stated, putting the phone down before you even had a chance to argue back.
It had taken you all afternoon to prepare yourself for this evening. You had stressfully changed outfits several times, nothing seeming to fit your frame ‘just right’. You had eventually settled for a red dress, the hem stopping just short of your knees. It was slightly more low-cut than you were comfortable with, your hair loose and brushed to the side. You painted your lips a matching ruby shade, spraying a few pumps of perfume over your exposed skin. A quick glance at the clock on your dressing table, informed you that it was almost time to leave.
You turned to make your way towards your front door, jumping back slightly as you noticed Jacob leaning in the door frame. His eyes scanned over your appearance, a frown creasing his forehead.
“You didn’t tell me you were going out” he stated, his words heavy in the air. You swallowed softly, glancing down at your shoes for a brief second.
“They need me down there” you replied, grabbing your jacket from the arm of the chair. Jacob laughed bitterly, rolling his eyes at your words.
“You know, you haven’t been the fucking same since we went down there” he snapped, the harshness of his voice making you blink in surprise. Silence hung awkwardly in the air between you, for a few moments.
“You don’t even know me” you whispered softly, holding your head up to look him in the eye.
“You’re right. I don’t” Jacob stood back from the doorway, his eyes not leaving yours.
“If you leave here now, you won’t ever see me again. You’re choice”.
“That isn’t much of a threat” you stated, refusing to meet his eyes as you walked past him. Your hand rested briefly upon the door handle, as you paused for a second, before pushing open the door and walking into the early evening.
“Good bye Jacob”.
You pulled the jacket over your shoulders, as you walked down your front door step and onto the streets of Small Heath. It had felt good to say those words, the finality of them making you feel happier than it should have done.
You felt free.
The last few rays of the afternoon sun drenched your exposed skin, leaving a pale pink tint upon your milky white flesh. The clouds where a threatening shade of grey. It was colder than you had anticipated, your breath coming out in ghost-like clouds, as you made your way down the narrow streets. Your arms brushed against others, as you pushed through the remains of the afternoon crowds.
You paid no attention to how long the journey took you, knowing the route like lines on the palm of your hand. Before you knew it, you where stood looking up at The Garrisons weather-worn sign. The dark green paint had flicked off in places, leaving the wood rotten and exposed. It had achieved its aim of frightening off outsiders, and fresh faces who caused continuous waves of suspicion in the locals.
It didn’t intimidate you. It felt like home.
You pushed open the door, the usual scent of stale whiskey and cigarettes wafting up to greet you. The bar was void of any signs of life, lacking its usual buzz for this time of the evening. You frowned as you slowly entered the bar, cautiously glancing around as you made your way in. The grimy wooden floorboards loudly creaked underneath each step that you took, announcing your arrival.
“Hello?” you called out to the empty building, your voice echoing off the four walls.
Silence.
Your heart began to thump violently against your rib cage, threatening to shatter your bones with every beat. It was worryingly unusual that the building was completely empty, especially for this time of day. There was nothing amiss about the place- each chair still upright, no smashed glasses- to suggest that any violence had occurred. You walked over towards the bar, bending down to search for the wrist-watch you knew Arthur used to keep behind here as a spare.
Your bare knees stuck to the wooden floorboards, the grimy residue of countless spilled drinks, sticking to your skin. You grimaced slightly, your eyes scanning the shelves underneath the counter.
“Bingo” you whispered to yourself, as your eyes were attracted by the telling glint of a shiny silver buckle. You reached forward, grabbing the wrist watch and glancing down at the face. A soft frown formed in between your brows. It was definitely six o’clock in the evening, the time Arthur had requested you to arrive at The Garrison.
So, where the fuck was he?
Your thoughts where interrupted by the sound of the front doors slamming, the screech of the metal lock being pulled across the handles. Footsteps reverberated around the room, causing a hard lump to form within your throat, your heart proceeding with its homicidal dance.
You were not alone.
The footsteps got louder, as whoever they belonged to, got closer to your hiding place. It was a pretty pathetic place to attempt to conceal yourself, the bar not offering much in terms of cover. You hurriedly scanned the shelves for any sign of a weapon, anything you could use to defend yourself if needed.
Nothing.
The voice came from above you, loud and clear within the destitute building. You would have recognised it anywhere.
“I thought I’d find you here”.
Tommy. Fucking. Shelby.

Brothers Abducted

Chapter 5 – Vacation All I Ever Wanted
All was silent at the dinner table. Takota fidgeted slightly, glancing between Sam and Jason. Neither were looking at each other, and they both appeared to be lost in their own thoughts.
‘So… how was everyone’s day?’ Takota asked hesitantly.
'Sam got arrested.’ Jason blurted. Sam paused, glaring up at Jason, who just shrugged back as he continued with his meal. Takota blinked, looking over at Sam.
'And just what did you do?’ He queried, trying to keep the disappointment from his voice. This is Sam, he reasoned. He wouldn’t go and do something stupid. Sam shrugged dismissively, staring intently at his food.
'Self-defense.’ He answered curtly, returning to his meal. Takota frowned, turning to his bondmate.
’… Did this have anything to do with Zane?’
Sam blinked, looking back at his caretakers. He scowled, slouching back in his seat.
'You knew about that?’ He demanded. Takota just shrugged.
‘Jason’s been watching him for a while now. I figured it would be him.’
‘Yeah, took longer to catch him than I would have liked,’ Jason said, his tone slowly shifting into an almost accusatory attitude, ‘Would have helped to get some solid facts from a victim beforehand.’ Sam hummed, ignoring the deliberate and hardly concealed jab. A poor attempt to make Sam talk.
‘… That’s it?’ Jason asked, cocking his head, ‘Just a non-committal “hmm”?’ Sam groaned, staring down at his food to avoid the Shifters gaze.
'Well, at least he’s okay.’ Takota said, sending a glare to Jason. Drop it, that look said.
'He could have let us know he was getting harassed.’ Jason mumbled.
Sam loudly threw his fork down, glaring across the table at the colossal Shifter.
'What would have been the point? You always seem to poke your nose into my business, you would have found out eventually!’
Takota slumped in his chair. With a sigh, he placed down his fork, rubbing at his eyes. Here we go, he thought.
'I do not do that!’ Jason said, affronted.
'Yes you do.’ Takota mumbled, never moving from his dejected position.
'Yes I do,’ Jason corrected himself without missing a beat, 'but this had nothing to do with you.’
'Yes it did.’
'Okay, yes it did,’ Jason relented, rolling his eyes, 'but Sam, you were not the only one he was harassing. We would have had to deal with him eventually, whether you were involved or not is a moot point.’
Sam huffed, looking away. He was right. Part of Jason’s job was to keep the peace in the community, which was not always an easy job. He would have caught wind of Zane’s behavior eventually.
Still…
Jason sighed as Sam grew quiet, looking to Takota for help. Takota just shrugged unhelpfully. Ash was right, he thought. This is so much harder than I thought.
Jason cleared his throat, looking back at his small charge. He idly tapped a finger against the screen of his watch as he thought over his proposition.
Hey, I recently was requested to work on a new settlement. I was wondering, with all the craziness going on… would you like to come, Sam?’
Sam frowned thoughtfully. He didn’t leave the planet often. HQ was designed to have everything someone could need. The people there wanted for nothing. But that also meant that it could get a little dull at times.
A new settlement, going through the process of building and integrating into the native society, could definitely be an exciting change.
'I guess so.’ Jason smiled, already bringing up his messages.
'Excellent. I’ll get everything sorted.’
‘After you eat!’ Takota called out. Jason paused, halfway out of his seat. He looked down at the meal he had barely touched, nodding.
‘After I eat.’ He agreed. Sam rolled his eyes. Man, he can be an idiot sometimes, he thought fondly.
…
Sam sighed, fiddling with his seat-belt. Takota was sitting quietly beside him, reading through the reports about their destination.
Earth 364-C. An average sized planet, where the populace would be around the same size as Jason. There were reports of… strange creatures among the native humans. A list was still being comprised, but ghosts were already a confirmed threat.
It was strange to Sam just how many variants of the exact same world existed in the universe. Like some godlike being enjoyed creating humans…
…It made looking for his own world a bleak thought. Like finding a tiny needle in an infinite haystack.
‘Make sure you two are strapped in,’ Jason said through the comm, 'We’re about to hit the ionosphere.’
Sam quickly double checked his seat-belt, making sure that the buckle across his chest was secure. Here we go, he thought with an excited smile.
The shuttle jolted, but Jason was quick to steady them. While he was far from a great Pilot, he had gotten trained by the best. Perks of being an Original, Sam supposed. He snickered slightly as he thought about his brother’s old fear of heights. How would he react to Jason’s crappy flying?
'How long do you think it’ll be?’ Sam asked. Takota shrugged.
'Depends on how well Jason can be a meteor, I suppose.’
It had been agreed that the ship would hide within a natural meteor shower in order to hide their presence from the natives. Their species had evolved quite rapidly, having already landed on their moon and even monitoring their immediate surroundings. They were not stupid, so it was better to be cautious. The Shifters were not ready to make their presence known yet.
The shuttle shuddered, swaying slightly as they entered the atmosphere. Any natives that happened to be looking to the stars would only see a handful of bright lights that skimmed across the sky, gone before they could get a good enough look to see that one light was closer than the others. With careful movements – the route predetermined so that there would be little need for deviation and revealing itself to be more than a mere space rock – the speedy shuttle splashed into the designated lake. The water sizzled slightly as the burning hot metal landed, barely slowing its forward momentum as it headed for an underwater cliff. Then, sensing the presence of the craft, the rocks began to move, sliding apart to reveal a hanger into a hidden underground facility. Like a hidden cartoon lair, Sam mused.
Takota kicked his legs impatiently as Jason docked the shuttle. The two tiny’s glanced at each other when the shuttle came to a hard stop, rolling their eyes as they listened to Jason cursing somewhere above. It was clear he needed to get more lessons on piloting space faring vehicles.
'Okay, we’re clear.’
Sighing with relief, the two men unbuckled themselves, quickly exiting the room. Jason was already waiting for them, one hand held out. They climbed onto his waiting palm, and he ferried them to each shoulder. They took a moment to burrow into the fabric of his hood, threading their tiny fingers through the tiny, almost unnoticeable loops that were built into it. After the first time they had accidentally unthreaded it, Jason had made sure they would have something to hold onto without ruining his clothes.
Once they were ready, Jason easily plucked up their tiny bags, placing them in his pocket. It didn’t even leave a bulge. He then grabbed his own bag, pressing a button on the wall. The entire back wall opened up to the entry bay. There were two Shifters waiting for them. A young man with a clipboard, and a woman in a uniform.
'Mr Metetta?’ She asked.
'Yeah?’
'I’m Diana Terrence, head of security. I’m glad you’re here. We have a request.’
Jason raised an eyebrow. He motioned to the shuttle, which was still dripping from its recent swim.
'I literally just touched down.’ He complained. She nodded, hands clasped around her back.
'I am aware of that, sir. But we have a situation, and need a man with your skills.’
Jason sighed, rubbing at his eyes. He was slow, making sure his movements didn’t disturb his passengers.
'It’s fine, Jay.’ Takota said, patting at his neck.
'You’re here to work. We understand.’ Sam affirmed. Jason turned his head slightly, but couldn’t quite see them since they sat flush against his neck.
'We’ll get settled in our quarters first. Then I’ll report to your office.’ Jason decided. Diana smiled.
'Good to hear.’ She nodded to the young man, who motioned for them to follow him.
'The room was prepared as you requested,’ The young man said, nodding towards Sam and Takota, 'We hope the quarters are to your liking.’
The room was quite bare. Almost like a hotel room. It was, after all, just the guest quarters. But it was still much better quality than the rooms that made up most of Sam’s childhood. It was cosy, with warm colors. The light was tinted slightly blue, giving a calm aura.
Jason threw his bag onto the nearby bed, making a beeline towards the counter with the small apartment that had been placed there for his boys. He leaned against the counter, arms straight to give them a platform. Sam was quick to trot along his arm, the process easy after a decade of practice. Takota was a little hesitant, nervously looking down at the drop below. Sensing his Bondmate’s distress, Jason scooped him up and lowered him to the bench. Takota smiled gratefully, easily slipping down to the counter.
'I’d better go see what all the fuss is about,’ Jason fished out their bags, placing them right at the door of the box, 'I’ll see ya later, guys.’
'Have fun.’ Sam called as Jason began to leave.
'But not too much fun.’ Takota warned. Jason laughed, sending them a grin.
'Now when do I ever have too much fun?’ He laughed, finally leaving the room.
Sam and Takota rolled their eyes, but hoped it would be an easy assignment, whatever it was.

Stargazing - part 3
summary: the reader and clint finally reunite after being separated... there’s finally a chance to bring everyone back
warnings: ENDGAME SPOILERS
pairing: clint barton x reader
word count: 2.9k of 5.4k+
a/n: yo i was legit crying while writing this so i’m sorry in advance & trust me when i tell you... THIS PART IS THE BEST
story line: part one part two part three
THE TIME HAD come. There was finally hope to bring everyone back once and for all. It's been five years since Thanos made his mark on the universe. Five years since the continuously collapsing civilization.
Everyone was on edge as the plan was explained. You all needed to go back in time to retrieve the stones and bring them to the present. Easy, simple. Not so much. Everyone was split into groups. Tony with Steve, Scott, and Bruce. Thor with Rocket. Rhodey with Nebula and Natasha. You with Clint.
Everyone had a stone to collect and bring back. You were all excited, yet nervous for what was to come. Steve has given you all a speech before having the machine transport you all to the location. You smiled up at Clint as he smiled down at you.
"See you all in a minute," Nat smiled at you all. You smiled back in excitement. You have never been to the past so it was new for you.
Soon, the machine started. A humming radiated off of the walls as bright lights surrounded the group. You felt Clint reach his hand over to you. You smiled to yourself as you gripped onto his.
Suddenly, you were now in space. You remembered it was Morag. This is where Natasha, Rhodey, and Nebula were supposed to get the Power Stone. You and Clint gave them all words of encouragement as you both began to board the other ship that was brought with you guys.
Natasha gave you a hug tightly, "Don't do anything stupid while I'm not there."
You laughed, "Likewise."
She laughed then walked towards Clint. You started buckling yourself into the passenger seat as Nat gave a hug to Clint. They whispered for a bit. Looking over at you every other second. You were curious about what they were talking about but never questioned it.
Nat and Clint hugged once again then pulled away. You smiled at Nat as she started getting off of the ship, "You both better get me a souvenir from Vormir, I heard it's beautiful."
You nodded your head with a thumbs-up as Clint buckled himself into the pilot seat.
"Don't worry. I'll get Mickey Mouse's autograph also!" Clint called out to Nat. You and Clint laughed as Nat gave him a playful glare.
"You guys are such dorks," Nat spoke. "I love you guys."
"We love you!" You both smiled back at her as Clint pressed the button to close the back hanger. He then turned on the ship and began to lift it up into space. You looked back down at Nat, Rhodey, and Nebula as they waved their hands up to you two. You waved back before Clint made the jump to Vormir.
Once the jump started, different colors from all the planets and stars began to cover both of your eyes. You both stared in amazement before you both arrived at Vormir.
You gasped and stared in admiration. Your mouth hung open as the purple and pink hue in the sky covered the area. A massive mountain with two pillars on top is what caught your eyes as well.
"It's beautiful," You whispered as you stared out the window.
Clint stared at you with a smile, "Sure is." He then looked back out the window. "If it wasn't for the circumstances, I would say this is amazing as well."
You looked over at him with another smile. The purple and pink lights reflecting off of him making you fall deeper in love with him. Your heart started to race thinking about it.
"We're here," Clint spoke as he landed the ship near the mountain. You both started unbuckling yourself and prepared for the journey you both were about to take.
Once you both made it to the top of the mountain, you both were laughing about a few jokes you remarked on the way up. It had something to do with Rocket but you had already forgotten, you were mesmerized by his laugh. You were about to speak once again until a voice cut you off.
"[Y/N], daughter of [Y/M/N]." The voice called out. You both quickly wiped your weapons out as your bodies tensed up. You both scanned the area in search of the intruder.
"Clint, son of Edith." The voice spoke again as the figure emerged from the shadows. The face revealed a floating man in a black clouded cloak.
"How do you know who we are?" You spoke in intimidation.
"It is my duty to know who comes to Vormir to acquire the stone." The mysterious person spoke without much notice to your attempt to scare him off.
You and Clint slowly began making your way towards the figure, not trusting him.
"Put your weapons down," The man spoke again. "I'm merely a guide. A guide to help you retrieve the stone."
You both looked at each other for a moment. Do we trust him? You both then slowly put your weapons down, bodies still tense. You both slowly walked towards the cliff. You both looked at the red man and his cloak. You then stopped and peered over the edge. You were terrified of heights.
You looked away and back at the man, "So the stone is down there?"
"For one of you, yes." He confirmed. "I must warn you, in order to acquire the soul stone. One must sacrifice the one thing they love the most. A soul for the soul stone."
You stopped your movement. Clint snapped his neck back towards the man. You didn't know what to say. You looked over at your best friend, him staring at you already. You wanted to scream, cry, run away. You wanted to call off the mission and never return.
"The price is high but it must be made," The man spoke. "The Stone is powerful and needs the person who uses it to understand the circumstances."
You turned around and bent over. You thought you were about to vomit. You felt your chest tighten as you tried to keep yourself up by one of the pillars. Clint was by your side now, concerned at your reaction.
"Are you okay?" He whispered to you.
You shook your head as you took deep breaths, "I think I'm about to throw up."
"You really believe him?" Clint spoke. "All because he said your mom's name?"
"Yes!" You shouted as you stood up. Your heart started beating faster by the second. "How could you not believe him? You really think he comes on his spare time to prank those who come?"
Clint sighed as the wind began to pick up. You decided to sit down on the rock next to the pillar as you started thinking. Clint looked down at you for a moment before he sat on one of the spare rocks across from you.
You were both silent for a long time, deeply considering all options. Your heart was beating out of your chest. You knew deep down there were only two options: you or Clint. You couldn't bare the thought of having Clint sacrificing himself. You stared at him as he was thinking to himself, staring at the cliff. You finally decided to make the decision; it had to be you. Just as you came to the conclusion, Clint did as well.
"Alright," Clint slapped his knees before standing up, prompting you to stand up too, "I think we both know who it has to be," his hands reached your waist and your hands held his forearms.
"Yeah, we do." You leaned into him, forehead touching his. You swallowed the tiny lump in your throat, knowing the world still needed Hawkeye, you, not so much.
His shoulders shook with a humorless laugh, "I have a feeling we're thinking of two different people." He pulled back, but hands still remained on your waist. His laugh died down seeing how terrified you were.
You had tears in your eyes as you stared at him. You stared at every inch of him - memorizing his angelic face, his muscular arms, his tattoos, his smile, his hair, everything.
"Clint, I just want to say..." You breathed out heavily, nervous on the confessions you're about to tell.
"[Y/N] don't be stupid. I'm not going to let you do it." Clint spoke before you can continue.
You shook your head as you stared into his eyes. "I love you..." There were no words. "I love you as more than a friend. I loved you this whole time. I was terrified of telling you because I didn't think you'd feel the same. Nat was always angry with me and always told me to tell you but I was always so nervous around you. When you were gone after the snap, I was miserable. I didn't think I would ever see you again, hold you again, be with you again. Now that you're here, we're being ripped from each other again..." You frowned as you began to cry. You didn't want it to be this way. You wanted to be anywhere else but there. You sniffed as you looked into his eyes, scared on his response.
Clint smiled as tears were beginning to pour out of his eyes as well. He grabbed your cheeks and stared into your eyes. He wiped your tears with his thumbs as his tears continued to flow out. Clint then leaned in and kissed you. It was slow and passionate. You never realized how soft his lips were until the kiss grew deeper and more intense. You both were desperate for each other's touch as you continued on. Both of you refused to let the moment pass, fearful of what was to come.
After a few moments, Clint finally pulled back as he choked out a laugh. You reached over and wiped his tears with your hands and laughed as well. You then leaned your forehead against his as you both intertwined hands.
"I love you [Y/N]." Clint finally spoke. You cried as you smiled. "I always have. The moment we meet at the Compound I was yearning for you. I wanted you. I needed you. Your smile, your laugh, your lips..."
You both kissed again, the longing feeling never going away. He released again. "I will always love you [Y/N] [L/N]. You are the stars in my life, the one person who I always loved. I don't want anything to happen to you."
You smiled at his reference. You both loved watching the stars when you both started to get to know each other, when everything was peaceful. You both always hung out at his farm and laid at his field, looking for shooting stars. Your memories faded away when you heard Clint cry.
He began crying as he remembered the situation you were both in, "Please. Don't do this."
You were now sobbing, "Clint. It has to be me. The world needs Hawkeye. They don't need me."
Clint shook his head as he hugged you tightly. He didn't let go. You had the same feeling, you both knew what had to be done. "I need you [Y/N]."
You sighed and looked into his eyes. You saw how beautiful his brown eyes looked under the purple and pink hue of Vormir.
Clint's chest heaved slightly at the action, his own eyes doing the same. This couldn't be happening. You leaned into him as you kissed him again, it lasted longer than before. It was a goodbye.
You slowly pulled back and stared into his eyes, "I'll miss you, Clint Barton." Before he could reply you quickly pulled away and started sprinting as fast as you can towards the edge of the cliff. Clint quickly fired his bow in front of you, allowing it to explode and throw you backward. You looked up at him in shock as he threw his bow to the side. He stared at you as tears started falling. You got up from the ground as he continued his pace. It felt as everything was in slow motion as his feet left the edge of the cliff. You shouted as you threw yourself off with him. You used your grappler to hold you up. You were able to grab Clint before he was able to sacrifice himself.
You shouted as you struggled to hold up his weight, you were never that strong.
"[Y/N], let me go." He whispered to you as he stared up at you with tears.
You shook your head violently, "No. Never." You tightened your grip on him. "It's not too late, we can think of another plan. Please don't leave me."
"I love you so much [Y/N], we both know it has to be me.” Clint whispered.
You shook your head as you cried. He nodded as he cried towards you as well. This was the most painful experience you both had together. "You'll find me in the stars." He whispered as you tried to tighten your grip more. "I love you so much [Y/N]." He then kicked himself away using the cliff and yanked his hand away.
"NOOOO!" You screeched towards him and tried to reach for him. Your fingers grazed his as his body fell.
He stared up at you as his body began to plummet towards the ground, where the sacrifice was needed. A tear fell down his cheek as he continued to look at you. He wanted the last thing to see was your face. Your beautiful face.
Even though the price was high, Clint knew it had to be him. He owed it to everyone who wasn't there. He just thought about the peace the stones were going to bring. He was scared for a moment but knew it had to be done. This was going to help the team win and bring everyone back. He just hoped it was worth the sacrifice.
You screamed and looked away when he made an impact. You looked back down to see his lifeless body on the bottom of the cliff, blood soaking the ground.
"CLINT!" You shrieked as you sobbed into the open space. Your wet cry echoed throughout the area. You gripped the string that was keeping you from falling. You cried into your fists as you tried to remove this whole event from your mind.
You sobbed as a bright light covered the area and you were suddenly transported to a liquid area. You sat up quickly in confusion, your hair and body were soaked. You then looked down at your hand. The bright orange stone reflected its light off of you. You then remembered what happened.
You screamed into the stary night with agony. Your cry echoed around the peaceful lake. You stared down at your hand at the stone, you looked up into the sky as you saw the beautiful stars. You cried as you covered your face, you didn't want it to be real. You didn't want to believe he was really gone.
"You are the stars in my life, the one person who I always loved." His voice echoed in your head. You shouted again as you pulled out the bracelet to bring you back home. You needed to leave, you needed to be home. You pushed the button as you gripped the stone tightly. You sobbed as the helmet covered your face and a blinding light covered your vision once again.
You weren't in the lake anymore. You were standing in the Avenger compound with your team, all who were laughing and smiling. Your body tensed, you felt dizzy from the sobbing. You ignored all the praise and cheers as you threw yourself to the floor and sobbed loudly. You hiccuped as you covered your face. You didn't want to think about your time on that planet.
The team immediately became silent after seeing your state. They grew concerned when they didn't see Clint with you. Your hands shook as you struggled to breathe. Without hesitation, Tony was by your side. He pulled you into his chest as you screamed into his chest. Your body shook with agony as you let out all your emotions. You didn't care who saw, you didn't care about the plan, you didn't care about anything. You wanted him back. You wanted to be with him. You wanted to hold him. You wanted to kiss him. You wanted him here with you.
"He's dead!" You shouted into Tony's chest. You felt Tony's body tense up as everyone stared in horror. You pulled away as your eyes were full of rage. "You have to give the soul of the one you love the most to get the soul stone!"
No one spoke. They were at loss for words.
"It was supposed to be me!" You cried out. "Dammit! It was supposed to be me! He didn't let me. I was so close... he was just faster than me..."
You cried again. You felt like dying. You felt like your whole life was ripped away from you. You were angry at everyone and everything.
"Here's your stone! You better hope it was worth Clint's life!" You screamed as you ran off. Everyone stared in shock. No one dared to move as they tried to process what had happened.
Clint was really gone. He sacrificed himself in order to bring everyone back. Your whole life was ruined. A life without Clint is a life of misery. You just had Clint back, you were finally happy. It's all gone now. He's gone.

Delivering is all she knows.
The one thing she can’t deliver is a captive from slavery.
Until him.
And her stubborn slave thinks he can deliver her…from herself.
VANQUISH, Book 2
Her life is like a prison cell. A self-made, to-hell-with-the-free-world existence that locks from the inside. Stop judging. Her agoraphobia doesn’t define her. It simply keeps her safe.
He belongs in a prison cell. The 6x8, make-me-your-bitch variety that locks from the outside. But he’s free. To hunt. To take. To break. And he just found a sexy new toy.
Capturing her is the easy part. Her fucked-up mind, however, makes him question everything he does next. But he’s a determined bastard. If all goes his way, this will hurt like hell.
DISCLAIM, Book 3
Camila was seventeen when Van Quiso kidnapped her. Ten years after her escape, the shackles refuse to release her. Not while there are still slave traders preying on her city. She will stop at nothing to end them. Even if that means becoming a slave again.
Returning to chains is her worst fear—and only option. They won’t know who she is or what she intends to do. She’s prepared for every complication. Except him. The one who decimated her sixteen-year-old heart.
Matias is charming, gorgeous, and dangerously seductive. He’s also untrustworthy and enshrouded in secrets. After years of no contact, he finds her—on her knees, wrists bound, in the clutches of her enemy. Will he sabotage her mission by needlessly saving her? Or will he keep her in chains and never let her go?
DEVASTATE, Book 4
“What is the price you’re willing to pay?” “Money isn’t an issue.” “I’m not talking about money.”
Tate is on the hunt to find his best friend’s sister. Eleven years ago, Lucia Dias was abducted. Presumed dead. He never met her, so why does he care? Some might call his efforts noble, but his motivation is more perverse, bordering on obsession.
When he follows a chilling lead to Venezuela’s Kidnap Alley, what he finds is neither a corpse nor a captive.
Amid poisonous lies and crippling depravity, the price of love is devastation. And he pays. With his body, his blood, and her life.
TAKE, Book 5
He’s a notorious crime lord, a kidnapper, and an artist. Scarification is his outlet, and he just captured a new canvas. Kate refuses to surrender beneath his blade or the cruelty in his beautiful eyes. But she’s drawn to the man inside the monster. A man who makes her ache with his touch. Who owns her with his kiss. A man who worships her as deeply as he hurts her. She can run, but there’s no escape from a bond carved in scars.
MANIPULATE, Book 6
Tula Gomez is in the most ruthless prison in Latin America.
She only drove to Mexico to help her sister. She did nothing wrong. But her quiet life changed in an instant.
To survive the violent, cartel-controlled prison where men blend with women, she pledges her loyalty to the notorious leader in exchange for the one thing she needs most. Protection.
When she agrees to seduce the suspicious new inmates, Martin Lockwood and Ricky Saldivar, she doesn’t expect to enjoy it. Sure, they’re gorgeous, irresistibly alpha, and insanely talented with their hands and mouths. But they’re the enemy. She can’t fall for them.
Torn between her cartel loyalties and two men who want her as deeply as they want each other, she questions who is manipulating whom. Her search for answers leads to a passionate ménage, a soul-crushing secret, and an impossible choice.
UNSHACKLE, Book 7

He can coax an explosive release with only his mouth and annihilate with insidious, mind-blowing pleasure. When he infiltrates La Rocha Cartel, he must seduce Vera Gomez to determine whether to rescue her. Or kill her. Nothing can distract his icy, lethal focus. Except the cartel’s most feral captive. The nameless, raven-haired beauty is his key to dismantling Vera Gomez. But the ferocious little fighter challenges him at every turn and unknowingly battles her way into his heart. A battle that delivers him, physically and emotionally, into shackles.

I agree with your assessment for the two most brutal worlds I have at the moment. None of those characters have known peace in a long, long time ^^; And that is the darker aspect of Forgotten Gods, and a side I’ve been thinking about more and more recently. It won’t change the plot, it’s just something I’m considering since I’ve been thinking of doing a sequel for it.
You know, having you put it in those terms actually makes my world building process make more sense to me? Like, I knew what I did, but it always felt like disorganized chaos. I never thought about it like this before, but I do work with the worlds like I would my characters. General ideas, a couple of key ties to the plot and the characters, and then I pretty much let it develop itself from there as I write and become it’s own thing. If something unexpected pops up, I just go ‘you’re a thing now, I guess’ and find a way to slot it in with everything else in a way that makes sense. Which is cool, it’s just, I never thought of it that way before.
And of course you can! :D You can ask me for an update or random facts on your favorite projects whenever you like, it doesn’t have to be sts or wbw.
(On a slightly related but also mostly unrelated note, do you mind if I ask you what tiny scene sunday is? I’ve read your snippets for it and seen some of my other mutuals doing it, but I’m not sure how it works and was wondering if you’d mind explaining it?)
Here’s your update and a couple of random facts ~
Writing update - Last week was a busy week, so progress was slowed by life, so not much was done in actual writing :/ Thankfully, this week is looking pretty quiet so I intend to get some work done.
That being said, I did get work done on two of the Shackles of Time’s anniversary posts. I’ve actually been working on one of them in between wbw questions.
I’ve also solidified the plot for Book 1 of the Dark Princess triology, and have the basic plot idea for book 2 of the triology. Book three I have the beginning of, but I have no idea where it ends exactly, so I’ll need to stew on it some more. I’ve decided that I’m going to go with that magic system I told you about, and I’ve also decided that it’s going to be a softer magic system. No solid limits or hard rules, but there are still limits and downfalls. I’ll be developing most of this when I get into the story itself, it’ll work well with the politics and characters I have planned out I think. I’m also figuring out the countries’ relations to each other and it’s complicated, but it makes sense to me and that’s good. I’m going to have to draw out a map and a timeline for when certain things, like your favorite Dark Lord’s rise, happen, for a guide/reference but it’s coming along nicely. I tell you, I’m tempted to start it now, but I really want to clear some stuff off my plate first so I can really just buckle down on it.
The Firewalker is starting to come back to my mind as well, I’ve been thinking over ways to improve it now that I know where it’s going. There’s some subplots I dropped and foreshadowing that was desperately needed, but hey, it was a first draft, it’ll be better the next time. The main thing I’ve been thinking about recently is how it’s set up where the end is a cliff hanger. I’m wondering if I want to do a follow up on it or leave what happens after up to people’s imaginations.
And I’ve been exploring ending possibilities in My Ancestor, My Enemy again. So many good options, but I think I’m honing in on one (finally XD) that feels right. I’m going to have to reread it and play with the idea in the context of what I have written so far, but I may finally be over that snag. Though I probably won’t act on it just yet.
I need to get a nice buffer going on The Shackles of Time again and to get some progress laid out on the Forgotten Gods’ second draft and finish up the anniversary preparations before I take on any more work, lol.
Some random interesting facts about Forgotten Gods -
* Reuben is not the only elf whose in the village in the far north, an uncommon occurrence for a place so far away from both elven clans.
* The forest is often filled with a thick fog in the early mornings/cool evenings. Whether this is due to the river and the streams that branch from it or the influence of one of the local gods is unclear.
* Every elf child of the southern clan get a dire wolf pup to raise before they leave for their trial to serve as their first mount and as a companion/slice of home while they’re wandering the outside world during their exile.
Some random interesting facts about the Dark Princess triology - (I’ll probably have even better ones once I start writing since the randomness is where most of the cool stuff comes from)
* Most of the countries of the north are predominately different elven clans, such as snow elves, sea elves, dark elves, moon elves, and dark elves. Even the countries that are not tend to have lots of elves mixed into their populations due to their proximity.
* The name Aconitum is the formal name of a plant that has many names, though I chose it for the specific one: Wolf’s bane. It’s a poisonous flower. Then, purely for irony’s sake I made the royal family’s symbol wolves since they are kind of their own bane and posion in many ways.
* The elf prince is a wood elf from the kingdom south of Aconitum, and their palace is made of trees and other plants that were sculpted into the building using magic.
Happy WBW, Ren! So first off, what is the most ruthless world of your wips and what makes it so? You have very distinct worlds as well, so what helps you to get into them, when you switch projects? You mentioned something about rereading I think, do you use that when switching?
@writingonesdreams
Happy WBW to you too, Dreams! :D Always lovely to hear from you.
That's an interesting set of questions, particularly your first. All of my worlds are brutal and can be ruthless, so it depends on your definition of ruthless. So, I'll list it out and you can decide for yourself, and maybe this will explain my constant 'I don't want to live in any of my fantasy world' answers.
Warning: Mentions of war, slavery, monsters, curses, terrible gods, and other horrible things. Nothing graphic, but it's there.
The Plight of a Sparrow is in the middle of a 2,000 year long war. There is all kinds of horrible things happening in this world that Sparrow is vaguely aware of but doesn't come face to face with until she gets into the thick of it in book 2. Slavery, battles, magic that will physically break you just for being born with it, cruel leaders, monsters that roam unchecked, gods that turned their backs on mortals, it is a lot bleaker and harsher than Sparrow had been expecting when she was reborn into it. I'd say it's up there on my list of most ruthless world.
My Ancestor, My Enemy is pretty brutal in the story itself, but as a world I'm not sure how harsh it is compared to the others since the general world itself is not fleshed out at all. The monsters are a constant threat, the elves have been driven to one small community after their ancestors' terrible, terrible choices, along with the general fantasy nonsense. The stress the elven hunters are under is certainly enough to break a person, but I'm not sure if the entire world is in so dire straights or if it got shifted to the elves.
Forgotten Gods has, of course, it's God nonsense. Like, for every protective god like Corona, every helpful god like Tear, and every harmless god like Eternity, there's an asshole god with tons of power and 0 damns to give. Some of them might even enjoy making mortals suffer. There are gods who just want to destroy everything. Then there's gods who are just using mortals to basically fight each other since fighting in person, so to speak, is useless since they are immortal.
The Firewalker is recovering from basically a holy war between the priests of the old gods and the priests of the new gods, so the mages, descendants of the old priests, are being hunted, if a holy knight senses magic in someone, they'll be killed. Even if they haven't awakened their powers, even if they've never hurt anyone, they will be killed. The mages are fighting back, in secrecy with equal brutality. And to top it all off, since they're busy fighting each other, criminals, like Sin, basically walk freely and run things in large cities. Normal people are losing all the way around, but the cycle of hate and revenge between the factions won't stop.
The Dragon's Crown's world is literally rotting. Food and resources are getting scarcer, more and more people are turning to crime, and the nobles are too busy fighting to fill the power vacuum left behind from the disaster that outcasted the royal family and broke the world.
Orion's Oblivion I don't have much of the world state, since it takes place over several planets and most of it happens on the ship I didn't need to flesh out a whole lot, but some places are ruthless others are pretty mellow.
The Shackles of Time is complicated because the threats and such vary throughout the series. But you know some of it, monsters, corrupt guilds, bandits, mages playing with lost magics without knowing that they are, rivalries between countries, guilds, and clans; places of raw magic that could affect you, a war with a literal God that they're still recovering from, and probably other threats I haven't come across yet.
So, yeah, pick your own flavor of awful there. So sorry if this shatters your view of my world ^^'
Rereading is my main go-to for refreshing myself when switching between stories, but it also helps that I'm usually thinking on them even when I'm not actively working on them so some things always stay fresh in my mind. But a key element to that is the distinctness in my worlds and characters is intentional.
I made this mistake once, and once was enough to make me go out of my way to not do it again. When I was trying to write Silver Tiger alongside The Plight of a Sparrow, some elements were too similar. Sasha and Sparrow start at a similar square, modern young women thrown into fantasy madness. Under achievers tired of their lives were now faced with new realities, and while their arcs go in opposite directions and their paths and situations are wildly different, they bled into each other because of those similarities. Some of the fantasy elements also started bleeding into each other and the worlds and characters got muddy in my mind. It was... a disaster. The drafts of both were almost unbearable to read once I got to the parts where I tried to write them alongside each other, so I put Silver Tiger back on the shelf. I will write it someday, just not until Sparrow is done.
But with each world being so distinct, it's a lot easier to separate them out in my mind and keep them from running together, particularly with the rereading to keep my mind fresh on them. It's part of why I don't do AUs with them, since I'm afraid that might muddy the details in my minds again and lead to another incident of the worlds melting on me.
Beyond that, there's not much else I can think of that I do to help me get into different projects as I switch through them.
Thanks for stopping by, Dreams, I hope you have a lovely day/evening <3

Take It or Weeb It: How To Play
Here’s a more in-depth list of instructions for the game that will ruin your life and credibility:
Go to Crunchyroll
If you haven’t sold your soul to crunchyroll and do not have a paid account, you may also want to open KissAnime or your anime viewing site of choice in another tab.
Unless you’re a goodie two-shoes and you want to watch legally, or you’re some weirdo who actually likes ads
Click Crunchyroll’s “random” button. Wait and pray that the random button actually fucking works this time, because it’s flaky as shit
Your randomized anime should now be loading. Buckle your seatbelts and prepare to let the dumpster fire begin.
If you’ve decided to say, “Fuck Capitalism”, and are pirating the anime today, open up the anime that shows up in your preferred anime streaming website
Set the Timer
Set a timer of your choice for five minutes. Seems like a short amount of time, right? Wrong. It will feel like 84 years when you’re trying to get through some of the awful 80s anime out there.
House Rules
Now, at this point, there are a few different ways to continue game play. You can start the timer, let the anime autoplay, and just fuckin go for it. Alternatively, you can pause the anime and do a quick google search to make sure the anime complies with the House Rules*. Our preferred method is letting the anime autoplay while frantically googling it at the same time on another computer.
The House Rules are determined by the participants. These are rules you can use to instantly skip an anime. These rules should allow you to avoid triggers, squicks, and other uncomfiness. For example, when we play, we outlaw incest, nudity, and excessive gratuitous T&A (tits and ass). However! These rules are NOT designed to allow you to skip non-squicky bad anime. That’s why it’s called Take it Or Weeb It. You are forced to watch a lot of awful shows.
MyAnimeList is a good site to use. In one quick search you can get (1) the maturity rating, (2) the genre(s), (3) a short summary, and (4) the year the anime came out. All of these are fun shit to know.
Watch the Anime
Pretty straight forward. Watch the anime until the timer goes off. Then you move onto the next step....
Vote
At this point, you’ve seen five minutes. Hopefully, you have an idea of what this anime is like. You know what you’re in for. Now, you have a choice to make. You can....
Say ‘Fuck This’ and move onto another anime. You’ve done your time. You’ve taken all you can take, and now it’s time for something else.
Finish the scene. Maybe the five minutes cut you off in the middle of a really weird or confusing scene, and you want to see how it pans out before you ultimately discard this anime like the trash it is.
Strap in, reset the timer, and Weeb it. You’re interested. You want to see what happens in the next five minutes. Hit ‘Play’ and give the show another chance to prove itself, and then reevaluate it when the timer goes off again. Repeat the “vote” step.
Keep in mind that you can only choose Option 3 until the end of the episode. You may not watch more than one episode of any single anime. Even if the episode ends on a cliff-hanger, even if you find the best anime you’ve ever seen, even if you happen across your favorite anime in the world—you must move on. Nothing gold can stay, my friends. The suffering must continue.
Repeat
For as long as your brain can take it.
—
We hope that these instructions have helped you to realize your true weeb potential. Please do not send us anon hate for the suffering this game may cause you. If you like this game, though, let us know, or give us a follow to watch our TIOWI antics. Thanks for reading!

On A Jet Plane - Dylan O’Brien Imagine
Author: dylanowhy (me)
Summary: Deciding to follow your dream, you try out for a small role in a new upcoming movie. During your audition you end up practicing lines with none other than Dylan O’Brien, thus landing you the lead part. Now you’re getting your big break, while also falling in love with your co-star.
Pairings: Dylan O’Brien x Reader
Warnings: Language. Kissing.
Word Count: 2,280
A/N: Thanks for baring with me as it took me a hot minute to get this out. I hope you enjoy! Sorry for the cliff hanger! Feedback is always welcomed.
Part I - Part II - Part III
“You’re going to be fine.” This time the words came from Tyler. Nearly everyone had given you a pep talk today, trying to convince you that the plane ride was going to go perfectly fine. Part of you wanted to believe that it was true but the fear inside of you was growing stronger each minute. It didn’t help that Dylan kept teasing you about it. “Any last words?” He asked as our gate number was called. You quickly smack him with your bag, giving him one of the most glaring looks you could muster. He only laughed though, not finding you the slightest intimidating.
“Babe, you’re going to be fine. I promise.” Babe. That was a word you had gotten use to over the last few days. Although you didn’t know exactly where you and Dylan stood, he called you babe and that was enough for you. He obviously just got out of something that was a bit hazardous and you weren’t about to push him into something else. He needed time and you were willing to provide.
“Whatever.” You playfully rolled your eyes acting as if there was not a smile appearing on your face. He hugged you from behind, pulling you close and laying his head on your shoulder. “I saw that.” He whispered and you removed his arms. “You saw nothing, now let’s go die.” The lady that was checking the tickets gave you a judging look as you broadly smiled and enter the hallway that was leading you to your doom. You almost looked back when you heard Dylan’s laughter, he was clearly enjoying this.
Your eyes widened when you realized you had a window seat, looking back to give Dylan the most sympathy look, your bottom lip sticking out in hopes he would switch seat with you, he nodded, stepping beside you. You watched and he place your bags above the seats before sliding in with you quickly to follow. “Thank you.” You spoke once you were seated.
“It really isn’t bad, kiddo.” The voice of Jim was louder than the chatter around you and you realized that he was sitting beside you. Dylan gave you a slight look and it took you a minute to catch on. Hardest part about falling for someone on set is not knowing when exactly to express it. It was not like they were having to keep it a secret, they didn’t have a reason to, but it could put a lot of pressure on set that wouldn’t work out too well.
“I don’t know about that one, Jim.” You found yourself laughing, you almost forgot how to do that. “We could always get some liquid courage.” Jim’s eyebrows raised and you really took in him for the first, his slight scruff and the tang of too much aftershave, you could tell he had been spending day and night on this movie and you admired that so much. “Are you trying to get (Y/N) drunk, Jim?” Dylan leaned slightly over you, keeping the conversation between you three. Jim smiled, chuckling, “You’d like that too much.” Those words caused you to blush and for Dylan to sit straight, coughing back a laugh. Maybe things weren’t as secret as thought.
The loud ding made you jump and the two boys beside you tried not to laugh. “Ladies and Gentleman –“ The flight attendant started her normal routine, going through the procedures and talking about safety. You obediently buckled your seat belt without hesitating. You could feel your heart beating as time started to move a little slowly. “Babe.” There was that word again and you wondered when you took his hand, wondered when you started holding it so tight. You relaxed a little as the flight attendant took her own seat and everyone got ready for takeoff.
Turbulence was hell. You honestly thought it was the devil trying to drag you down were you belonged but instead of getting a laughing Dylan like you expected, you had this caring, loving guy who was trying his hardest to sooth you through it. “It’s just like a rollercoaster. You love rollercoasters. It’s a little scary at first but as soon as things get going, it’s all smooth from there.” – “You know that I would never let anything happen to you, right?” The last question was a whisper but it became the solo reasoning of your heart pounding.
The flight seems to ease after that, the rest of your traveling being a walk in the park. Maybe it was Dylan casual and gentle touches here and there, or maybe it was those words still lingering in your mind. “Five minutes until landing! I am starving.” You could hear Tyler’s voice from somewhere behind you, followed by Emma’s loud sigh. For a split second, you forgot they were there, it brought you back to reality.
“So, maybe it wasn’t that bad.” Your shaky voice gave away the lie, but Dylan smiled anyways. “I still can’t feel my hand from your death grip.” He commented, causing a smirk to appear on your face. “Don’t act like you didn’t love it.” He laughed, “Loved it? I think you might have broken a bone.” His expression was serious but his eyes screamed laughter. “I am about to break more if we don’t get off this plane.” You finally found yourself unbuckling and coming to your feet. “On that note, I’m out.” Jim walked his way down the aisle.
It was like walking into another world. You tried not to make a big deal out of it, but you had never been to a place like this. California was probably the most exciting place you have ever been. You came from a small town with practically nothing to a big city with nearly everything, but this was something more than that. Different language, different atmosphere, it was all too much to take in at once and yet everyone around you seemed so used to it.
“The car will take you to the hotel. If I were you I would rush to get dinner and then turn in for the night. We have a big day tomorrow, there is not enough coffee in the world to prepare us, so get a good night’s sleep. Here are your room keys.” Stacy handed everyone a card, and you eagerly looked to see who you were sharing a room with, which immediately made you frown. “Girls you are 409, boys, you got 610. Sorry they are so far apart, couldn’t get side by side. Last minute and all.” Stacy gave a nod and an apologetic look. “Alright, off you go. And Tyler, please reframe from partying too hard. I’ve heard stories.” And with that, the four of us were left to go to our hotel, but more importantly, you were ready to go explore.
“Italy.” You said for possibly the twentieth time. You heard a chuckle behind you. “You know, you keep saying that.” Dylan had been here before, in fact, it was one of his favorite vacation spots. None of this was new to him, but to you it was another world. First, your standard room was more like a palace. Canopy bed, clawfoot tub, a small living area that was more comfortable than the one in your apartment. It was like a fairytale come true. “I am so sorry that I have never experienced this before.” You held your hands out in defense, which he quickly took, lacing your fingers together and pulling you into him. It had been a while since you two had stood this close and you remembered how much you missed it.
His smell so intoxicating, his smile simply memorizing. Beautiful, he was beautiful. “You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting to do this.” His words caused butterflies. “Then do it.” You challenged and he complied, a soft smile pressing into your lips as he kissed you for the first time in what felt like forever. There was something about the way he moved his lips slow against yours, keeping everything under his control that cause your fingers to tangle into the back of his head. Something about the way his large hands clasped around your hips, holding you so close that you could feel your bodies melting together. It drove you absolutely crazy.
His hand slowly made its way up the back of your shirt, the heat of him causing you to shiver, setting off a fire deep down inside of you. You tried to pull him closer to you, needing more but there was hardly a gap between you two. Getting the hint, his feet began to shuffle, month not leaving yours as he ushered you to the bed. You tugged at his shirt and without hesitation it was over his head and off to the side. The back of your knees met with plush covers and you fell back instantly, being sure to bring the male along with you. That was the first time his lips parted from yours, head dipping down to place soft kisses along your jawline leading down to your neck.
It was almost enough to make you pass out. The way he knew how to pepper kisses along your sweet spot, and how to nip at your collar bones at the perfect time. You almost didn’t hear the open creak open or the sound of Emma gasping as she walked in on something that wasn’t too innocent. “So, I’m taking it you two will be sharing a room?” You heard Tyler asked, your eyes shooting open at the realization of someone else being in the room with you. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” Dylan muttered. He took a deep breath before removing his warmth from you, quick to find his shirt and place it back on his body. You let out a sigh and reminded yourself to cuss Tyler out later. “What do you want?” You spat, but that only caused Tyler laugh. “Dinner. But it seems like you’ve planned your own personal menu.” His eyebrows raised at Dylan. “Shut up – We will be ready in ten. Meet you down stairs.” Dylan said as he escorted them out of the room. You heard Emma say something along the lines of “But my suitcase is in there.” Before the door closed behind them.
“Sorry about that.” You watched as Dylan fixed his hair, his locks a tangled mess. “Will we ever get our alone time?” You couldn’t help but ask, your small frame coming to the back of his large as you wrapped your arms around him. “Trust me” – He turned, arms wrapping around you. “I am damned and determined.” Those words made you smile but it was quickly faltered by the knock at the door. “Hurry your asses up!” You rolled your eyes at the amount of childishness you had to deal with. “Let’s go before they break the door down.” You released yourself from Dylan’s embrace, you’d be lying if you said you didn’t miss it already.
However, you were not let down by the choice of dinner. It wasn’t somewhere that was completely classy. Like one of those places you see in the movies where a coat and tie are provided. But it was classy enough for you to fit in and feel comfortable and like you were on vacation at the same time. You were happy to know that the people around you were trying to make this the best experience for you and you appreciated that. “You don’t mind, do you?” You asked Emma after ordering your drinks and she looking confused until she put the pieces together. “Am I excited about sharing a room with Tyler? No. But, I will let this one slide. Mainly because I want details though.” She shrugged at her words and you let out a small giggle.
You didn’t know what the night was to bring you, but you were nervous enough. You could feel your body tingling at the thought of being with Dylan in the most intimate way possible, and with a daring look from him, you wondered if he was thinking the same thing. You know he wanted to take things slow with you, and you were completely okay with that, but the amount the you needed him grew stronger each day and you knew it was the same for him, even if he did try to deny it. “As if you’d get details.” You found yourself answering, which made Emma give you a look.
The dinner passed by slowly than you intended. Dylan wanted to leave as much as you did, you could tell by the way his foot kept gliding alongside yours, slowly making its way up your leg every once and a while, sending shivers down your spine. “I think we’re going to head to bed.” Dylan’s voice cut through the laughter of the room like a knife, causing everyone around us to quiet. Tyler’s eyebrows raised and Emma made a small noise. You then realized the intense look that was on Dylan’s face and you could swear your stomach was doing flips.
“Y-Yeah.” Did you just stutter? And did he just smile at that? Tonight, was not going the way you planned it, or maybe it was. It didn’t take long for Dylan to stand, offering his hand as you whispered a small “Goodnight.” To your fellow cast members. Your mind focusing on anything and everything Dylan. They said their goodbyes, but you muted them out. Your eyes were connected with golden orbs that held promise and you couldn’t wait to see when he had in store for you.

DELIVER, Book 1 - FREE
His name was Joshua Carter. Now it’s whatever she wants it to be.
She is a Deliverer.
She lures young men and delivers them to be sold. She delivers the strikes that enforce their obedience. She delivers the sexual training that determines their purchase price.
As long as she delivers, the arrangement that protects her family will hold.
