Golden Wind D&D AU

Alright, since I've been encouraged by @razumairon and I've been thinking about this for a While, Bucci Gang in a D&D setting!

Giorno: Half-elf, Circle of Shepherds Druid-- yeah, Giorno, druid; sky, blue; water, wet; I'm not sure what anyone was expecting. Bucciarati: Sea elf! I've made jokes before about him being an Archfey Warlock and his vibes also suit Paladin (Oath of Devotion, maybe?) but I think, ultimately, I like the thought of him being a Bard--College of Lore to be specific. ... And for those of y'all who watch Tulok's Building Character yes I got that idea from him, but listen. If it works it works. And then you swap in the Reborn lineage halfway through the campaign-- okay, no, I'm kidding about that part. Abbacchio: Lineage-wise I don't think I settled on anything specific for him (I feel like there's a bunch of arguments you could make for various ones for him) but what I am very solid in is him being a Knowledge Cleric! (He tried the Paladin thing and it didn't work out.) Narancia: ... Honestly, I like the idea of him also being a half-elf (maybe half-Eladrin?), but regardless, he's a Drakewarden Ranger. Yes, his little dragon spirit buddy would be Aerosmith. Fugo: Fallen Aasimar, Way of Mercy Monk-- Now, before y'all say anything about that particular subclass, hear me out: the Hands of Harm feature to inflict necrotic damage, and the Physician's Touch feature, which lets him inflict the Poisoned condition on something he hit with Hands of Harm. It's The Vibes. Trish: Tiefling, College of Glamour Bard. Specifically, she's a Bloodline of Glasya Tiefling, since Glasya's the one I can easily see Diavolo having dealings with. Mista: Human, Champion Fighter. I don't know what y'all expected.

Stranger Things fic:

nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone - I actually have most of chapter 5 written and know how the chapter will end. I'm just stuck on the scene where Max goes over to Dustin's house. I'm still not sure how close to canon I want to play it. One day I'll rewatch Stranger Things and get back to this, but I think I need to practice writing mystery and action some more so I can really do justice to bringing my plans for this fic to life

The Dragon's Bride - So in the covid brain fog I forgot where this fic was going last year. I wasn't keeping detailed notes about it so I'm just kind of trying to recreate what I want to do with this before I post anything. I have been working on the second chapter though. Overall I want it to have soft Ghibli film romance vibes

JJBA fic:

Houses of the Holy - The orphanage chapter is so hard to write. Why did I think writing out Caesar's whole life story was a good idea??? He doesn't even meet Lisa Lisa until chapter 3! Making up backstory from scratch is haaaaard. My hubris knows no bounds.

had to fall in love - ah band au my beloved. I fucked up the timeline and haven't felt like fixing it yet. I might just pretend I meant to do that all along and just keep writing. Then I could fix all the dates and ages at the end. This fic is a hot mess but It's fun.

Wonders Never Cease - this sci fi au is even more of a hot mess. God I'm a disaster. Don't look at me.

Unpublished WIPs/ideas (also JJBA):

Hotel CA - Caejose pwp set in a world where vampires have overrun the world. Caesar is the leader of a little group of humans taking shelter in an old hotel with a crumbling sign. Joseph sneaks in to Caesar's suite disguised as a woman in the hopes of seducing Caesar into a false sense of security before he reveals his identity. Of course Caesar knows it's him immediately and is curious to see how far Joseph is willing to take his ruse.

Bring 'Em Back Alive - a post-PHF five-years-later fix it endgame Fugiomis fic where Fugo and Mista team up on a murder mystery mission in a Passione-run nightclub where the ghosts of their shared past are disturbed and they fall in love with each other. I'm having trouble juggling the OCs for this one. I think I have to write a more immediate post-PHF fic to establish the villains' motivation better. The playlist is already up on my fandom Spotify though I may change some of the songs around.

i wanna be a slut - this one is named after a Pansy Divison song. It's basically just modern no stands au poly!mista fic where not all Bucci gang is dating each other but Mista ends up either dating or friends with benefits with all of them. Not much angst just Mista gets to be happy and carefree and have a lot of love in his life.

idk what to call it yet I've been calling it figure drawing au or michelangelo nudes - Modern au, no stands. After Mista gets fired from his latest job because his manager hates him, Fugo offers to pay him in cash if he agrees to model for a project Fugo is working on. It's all so Pretty Woman that Mista kinda can't help but fall for Fugo, who is gorgeous and sensitive and brilliant, but Fugo is such a sad lil rich boy he can't imagine Mista wants him for anything more than his money. Mista's just so handsome and so good at living in the moment defying expectations to do whatever the fuck he wants; he's everything Fugo wishes he could be. I just want to write the Fumis romcom of my dreams where Fugo is a PhD student and polymath good at different forms of art and science and Mista's a himbo. I deserve this.

another college au draft where Mista and Narancia are roommates who don't realize they're pretty much dating. Giorno invites all his friends to a house party at his mudad's house. Narancia gets drunk and finally makes a move on Fugo, who gets offended Nara seems to be trying to cheat on Mista with him. Idk this one might never see the light of day tbh but you know I love the Torture Dance Trio so maybe

I do not have time to write all this. Knowing me I'll just come up with more ideas tho lol.

Phantasmagoria - Fugio gothic horror au where Fugo's parents give him to Dio for mentorship and Fugo quickly learns Dio doesn't actually practice law all that much and his house is fucked up. He meets a cute boy he only ever sees wandering the halls at night

Uh the draft is called Gothic Horror Pillar Men in my drafts but it's more of a bodice ripper type story. It's about Joseph being locked in his grandma's estate awaiting his upcoming marriage and interacting with the strange men who prowl the courtyard looking for something at night. Not sure if I'll ever finish this one but idk. The wedding rings play into it a lot but they're not poison in this au or like inserted into Joseph's body.

Okay so. As far as WIPs go, I have the Fugio toxic early relationship fic + the postcanon everyone lives AU Trish fic I shared snippets of a while ago, both of which I really need to finish lol. I’ve also started writing the first chapter of Fortunate Son.

My immediate priority is actually a Jotakak fic, though!! Returning to my roots lol. I can’t share too much about it right now, but it’s a really fun little AU loosely based on a story from Greek mythology that I’m super excited to write!!

I’m done working on these, but I should be able to post a couple zine fics – one everyone lives Bucci Gang set ten years in the future, one Avpol, both pretty fluffy/bittersweet oneshots – in the coming months, so :] very excited to post those as well!!

And you know I’m gonna start impulse writing some bullshit at some point too lol. Giorno PHF rewrite and college AU are on the brain. And I believe I owe you a Fugo weed fic, so.

OH one I thought about returning to, actually!! I initially had three parts planned for the Mista fic – YMYYYD and LTAG, obviously, but I started to write a oneshot from Giorno’s perspective that I planned on releasing between the two fics called In the Words of a Broken Heart, set during the April 4th, 2001 chapter. Problem is, the first draft sucked, so I abandoned it and never returned to it. But I’d kinda like to revisit it, and maybe it’ll be absorbed into the Giorno PHF rewrite a bit. Who knows. But it was basically what happened after Giorno abruptly left the room in the middle of talking to Mista, and goes into his emotional suppression, and how it’s getting harder and harder for him to ignore that his dream is ruining people’s lives, and might very well end some, if not all of his companions’. And also kinda confirms that Bruabba is real in the Mista fic universe, which I sorta vaguely implied but never solidified in the fic proper. So. That’s that, I guess.

Warning: A preview/very premature draft to scene 1 for my upcoming college!au fic based on this post. Boy that was a mouthful. Modern/College AU, characters are adapted for normie lives (so slight exaggerations can be expected), etc.

Summary: Mista needs to find new digs and fast—luckily for him, he’s found your ad on a bulletin board on campus! 

Alternatively: Meet your nightmare roommate, Fratboy!Mista.

Word count: 578 (so far)

Several months of living at the frat house on campus taught Guido Mista that 1) he didn’t like sharing a bathroom with six other guys, 2) that bringing people over for the night was almost impossible, and 3) he’d rather starve than pick at the food that ‘David’ cooked for dinner every night. His only option then was to move out as soon as the next semester picked up, and when he broke the news to the other guys, he made sure to pout as much as possible and pack his things as quickly as he could. Parting with your brothers isn’t the most heartrending experience a guy could experience, but Mista was sure a couple of them sniffled as soon as he shuffled out of theinto Narancia’s car.

That was three weeks ago. 

In the time that had passed since then, Mista made the decision to crash at Narancia’s studio apartment with the promise of moving out when the right place came up. Narancia had one bed in the corner of his space and a sofa bed set in front of his immaculate gaming setup. At first the arrangement seemed perfect—Narancia and Mista played co-ops, watched newer releases on Netflix and even ordered takeout. But after the first week, Narancia became all too aware of Mista’s awful habits.

They weren’t completely unbearable, no—not if you didn’t mind dirty dishes piling up in the sink, smelly laundry lying all over the floor or losing hours of sleep because of Mista’s sleep-talking. There were worse roommates to deal with and that wasn’t any real secret to Narancia.

Regardless, Mista was surprised to have been given a very unexpected stern talking from Narancia in the library one day, and it wasn’t until he was halfway through his coffee that he realized that Narancia was giving him two more weeks to find a place.

“You’re kicking me out? But–”

“It’s not you, Mista,” Narancia chittered. “It’s—”

“Whatever, I get it.”

“Awesome! I actually can help you find some places if—ow!”

And it was entirely in Mista’s luck that he found the perfect apartment just a few days later, so he made sure to sprint over to Narancia as soon as he found it—the perfect ad. 

“You sure about this?” asked Narancia, turning the flyer over and reading it a second time.

“Giorno said this guy doesn’t sound so bad.” Mista shrugged and pointed at a line of text. “Look—it says he doesn’t mind cooking, bakes occasionally, super clean—”

“It’s not like you’re going to stay at the apartment all day though,” Narancia pointed out. “And c’mon, this sounds way too good to be true. If they say they like cleaning, they’re probably slobs who’ll say anything just to get another person to sign the lease and help with rent. Oldest trick in the book.” Not that Narancia knew that by experience, of course. Ahem.

“Or maybe I found the perfect roommate who’s going to help me land more dates. This guy’s definitely gay. Probably has a couple of cute friends too.”

Narancia’s face dropped. “God, you’re such a pig. And this is probably a bad idea, so don’t drag me into it. There’s gotta be someone else you can room with.”

“Do you really want me to keep sleeping on your couch until I find new digs?”

Mista grinned when Narancia pulled out his phone and began texting the number. “I’ll do you a favor and set a meeting for you and this guy.”

Disney: yeah this was the spring break extra from ttl. idk why it was so boring for me to write, don't think i got past 500 words :( it was a good idea in theory!

Ghost: this was an idea i had for caesar to be like a ghost living in joseph’s head post battle tendency. was going to be my canon fix-it that dealt with their ptsd and stuff

Last Train Home: all the dead jojos hanging out on a train in bruno’s pov. what i intended for this one ended up being explored a little bit in itf, so i don’t super feel the need to finish it. but caesar was really fucking funny and rude in it. he had a landline so that he could talk to joseph. also avdol and kakyoin were playing uno.

Monster AU: joseph was a vampire who stumbled upon a house caesar haunts (as a poltergeist) and they fall in love, two monsters who can’t remember being alive/human. liked this one but don’t think i’ll ever have the energy for it

pirate au: ohhhhh i like this one. giorno gets recruited onto bruno’s pirate ship by pretending he knows medicine, and then apprentices under josuke, becomes fugo’s Main Doctor, and he and bruno conspire for giorno to become captain. if i ever finish this one, it’d be amazing, but idk. maybe if y’all are interested

SBR college au: ahh pretty self explanatory. johnny and diego were childhood rivals/best friends and roommates, and they form a college squad with hp, gyro, and lucy. probably uncover an academia conspiracy and kill valentine or something.

undead realm: dnd au where amnesiac undead bruno works for the king of the undead. takes on a job where he escorts the bucci gang to bargain for his soul back in a horrific case of dramatic irony.

Where in the World is Bookwyrm214? (8/18 Progress Report)

I got through typing the first 688 words of Rhapsody in Reverie chapter 16: Caught in a Landslide today, and I wanted to let y’all know what’s going on in Book-land, since I know it's been over two weeks since my last fic update.

Rest assured, now that I’ve started the typing phase for 16 it’ll be fully typed tonight, beta-read ASAP, and hopefully posted tomorrow. If all goes according to plan, 17 won’t be too far behind, and 18 will be up on Sunday according to the original schedule.

I’m going to try and put the rest of this under a read more bc it’s pretty long, but this is what’s up with my life and my planned content moving forward!

I’ve been working through the stress of going back to long distance with the honeybee (he moved back to college last week), my job finished off for the season last Friday (I spent the afternoon sleeping the length of a shift), I was dungeon master for about half of Friday’s session (though I gave the reigns back to the honeybee pretty quick, I have the writing part down, but the execution isn’t there yet), I played for myself and a friend who couldn’t make it in my Saturday dnd session and helped my other friend through her first session, gave my best friend shit about cancelling his Sunday dnd session to prep for his not-yet-girlfriend to visit while being supportive and encouraging about meeting her, and prepping to move back to college myself at the end of the month.

I’ve been trying to get used to the new laptop’s keyboard, which is a big one for why ch16 is so late. I had to finish transferring everything to my new laptop so my little sister could use the old one for online elementary school, which was a bear to do and tool for-flipping-ever (I ended up having to get an external hard drive for my photos, since I’m really bad about deleting the blurry ones after birding trips and they wouldn’t fit on my flash drives to move them off)

I have, however, had a very productive couple weeks! It’s just mostly offline and draft work, so it’s not visible progress.

Writing-wise I’ve made great progress! I’ve got:

• 688 words typed of RiR chapter 16 (1.5 pages of the 11-page rough draft)

• Brainstorming for chapters 17 and 18 of RiR, so that when I get 16 up I can jump right into the last couple chapters.

•My Fugo-centric post-RiR work (Deep in the Dark) got a lot of attention last night and this morning, with most of the beginning outlined.

•15.5 of RiR, aka the sexy chapter (Body's Aching all the Time) is handwritten, but typing/editing is going to take awhile since I'm not quite happy with it & the honeybee doesn't want to beta-read smut, so I’m just going to be extra careful with a fine-tooth comb on that one.

•Post RiR giomis (Here Comes the Rain Again) has a rough summary of the first few chapters.

•A fairytale AU Sheila E/Trish work (A Girl in Trouble is a Temporary Thing) now has a very detailed outline & will likely be my next typed/posted work, since it’s a cut and dry one-off and wont spiral into chaos like the RiR universe has.

•My pre-canon Bruabba fic (Come Out and Play) has a chapter typed and three handwritten with a possible fifth in planning, and its follow up fic (No Light, No Light) has four chapters outlined, and for those I have a couple pages of OC stand/user planning done too. (It was supposed to be a one chapter smut and now it’s become a sprawling edgy feelings two-part fiasco, and I need to rework a lot of the timeline/planning for it I think. I retroactively decided to have it set in the RiR-verse and I need to edit it so it’s compliant)

•My fix-it post-canon everyone lives Bruabba AU (Red Wine, Mistakes, Mythology) has gotten some love by running it by the honeybee and fleshing out parts of the rough outline.

•Fugio fantasy AU which doesn’t have a working title yet is also in the mix, while it was technically the second concept I came up with for Jojo’s fanfiction it’s been shelved for no particular reason.

And that's just my writing!

When it comes to my art I have a lot of ideas and goals:

•Mermaid Bucci gang series:

--> To go with Mer-Mista and Mer-Narancia, I did Mer-Bucciarati which I may redraw the head/face of since I don’t feel like it meets my quality standards.

--> I want to finish up the Sticky Fingers jellyfish to go with mer-bucci + the Sex Pistols fish + Aerosmith (i think I concept-ed that as a shark?)

--> I want to continue that series to include Abba, Trish, Fugo, and Giorno, plus their stands!

• I want to ink and color my PHD redesign, getting it out of my planning notebook and onto actual art paper.

• I want to draw Deep Sea & Fandango, I have reference images but I want to make true concept art since I’ve gotten a lot of feedback interested in Georgia.

• I want to draw Scaramouche & Margaritaville, for similar reasons to Fandango and Deep Sea, since I’ve pulled reference art already and I want to finalize their designs/ possibly make a stand-stats sheet.

• I want to draw my original stands from DitD, one of which (K.Y.E.) I have sketches in my notebook, plus pulling reference art/making a concept sheet for my COaP/NLNL stands. (I can’t really name any of these bc spoilers, but I’m really excited for K.Y.E. and it’s user, the honeybee really loves that one!)

bucci gang college!au fic

so! you’ve probably seen this post at some point in the past few weeks.

I’m now going to do a little rundown of how I’ll be organizing it—this is more for me if i’m going to be perfectly honest, but I figured some other people would like to see how I’m progressing through this little project I’ve got coming up.

I’m going to kind of treat it like a dating sims game! 

There’s going to be a first chapter that’ll establish the setting, etc., and the reader will make contact (very brief contact) with the characters in some way. Then, depending on which character you want to read, there will be separate storylines! Each storyline the reader will have a slightly different personality because I think it’ll help get some chemistry with the different characters. Every character will have multi-chapter storylines, and I’m thinking of making it about five chapters per character. Hopefully that makes sense?

I don’t have any concrete plans for the others at the moment, but I have some ideas for Mista, Giorno and Fugo:

Mista is the nightmare roommate who responds to the Reader’s roommate advertisement on campus, thinking that his roommate (who likes baking, etc.) is a gay man.

Giorno is a mutual friend through Trish and asks you to kindly accompany him to a family member’s wedding because he wants to avoid getting those “when are you going to start dating?” questions from his family members.

Fugo is a classmate who you slowly befriend through a class. Slow-burn? Maybe? There’s a really cute chapter in there somewhere.

bucci gang college!au

the college au that you didn’t know you needed:

I’m bored and I’m still thinking about university because I’m swamped with work!! Here’s some hc’s I have of what the boys would study in university.

Bucciarati:

maybe it’s because I’m planning on doing it myself, or the fact that I can’t help but thirst over the image of Bucciarati in a turtleneck, but I can see Bucciarati studying History in undergrad and going for Library Science/Museum/Archival Studies in grad school. Bucciarati is always portrayed as a reliable worker who can keep his mouth shut, etc.... So I think this kinda fits into Archivist stuff, since, depending on who you work for (the government specifically), you constantly have to handle secret/sensitive material. Important and absolutely vital position! And Bucciarati working in a library/museum setting is also really cute to me, but if anything I can see him working as an Archivist for an organization or maybe even the government.

Giorno:

I know I’ve seen people put Giorno in some kind of Life science, like plant or animal study, but... and don’t get me wrong, maybe it’s because I project my boyfriend onto Giorno because they’re freakishly similar in a bunch of ways, but!! Giorno going into Mechanical Engineering/Robotics is absolutely my jam!! And after graduating from school, I can see Giorno eventually working for a company that makes prosthetic robotic limbs. Something about “breathing life” into an object and giving someone a new arm/leg/etc. gives me Giorno vibes... Also my boyfriend is sorta working on stuff like this so that’s another reason why I see Giorno doing this stuff.  Giorno’s also very smart, and I think something like Mech E would really challenge and push him. Plus, when making prosthetic limbs or when working with robotics in general, a lot of engineers will observe and study animals and movement and such. Everything about this field of study just screams “Giorno” to me.

Mista:

I know we like to poke fun at Mista a lot, but I think he likes reading a lot and could easily apply himself to some difficult courses. Maybe it’s the fact that he works with guns a lot and is just very smart in general, but I’m thinking Mista would go into Physics. Catch him doing his physics coursework with Giorno because they’re both slumped on the same problem. Now, i don’t think he’d ever consider going into academia, but if he did, he’d definitely be that professor who just has his TA do the lectures while he does his research. I could also see him just working in the same engineering company as Giorno? Possibilities are endless, I think he’d be able to do anything really. Maybe he’d a mechanic if he doesn’t want to go to uni and goes to trade school instead.

Fugo:

Fugo going into law school?? I know that didn’t exactly work out very well, but I do think that he’d feel challenged and would get to make the most of his intellect. He’s a smart guy and I think he might do Philosophy for undergrad as most people would go that route anyway. Plus I like imagining Mista complain about Fugo’s readings (”this Plato guy thinks way too much about this damn cave—” “Shut up mista”).

Abbacchio:

Hm. Maybe law school for Abbacchio too?? On the other hand, because he seems to really like classical music and is the kind to dwell on the past, I could also see him doing Music History, minoring in either piano or composition maybe. If he decides to do some accompanist work for a classmate who’s awful and studies vocal performance, he will complain about it to the other guys (”how the hell can you be tone deaf and studying music at the same time??”). He and Bucciarati hang out a lot....sometimes Bucciarati will accompany Abbacchio to the practice rooms. Sometimes they’ll spend an awful amount of time there (mostly for practicing, alright?? they’re responsible students. don’t be cheeky)

Narancia:

I know it’s easy to get carried away with “ahahaha Narancia doesn’t know 16*55!!” but let’s set those jokes aside and acknowledge how smart he can be. Now since this is a college!au, I’m going to say that Narancia would go into some field of study that allows him to use his strengths. I think he’s always shown really good instincts. Also, I know he totally misinterpreted Giorno during this one fight, but I always love how Narancia is the only one to notice that Giorno’s waving to them during the Babyface fight (so what if he didn’t realize there was an attack yet!!)??? ++ Aerosmith’s ability to detect carbon dioxide is, in my opinion, the biggest example of his instinct/ability to catch onto things real quick. Narancia also remembers a lot of information (I mean, he got everything Trish asked for when he was running errands). And!! he is very concerned with Trish after Venice despite not knowing her very well. I think that’s very telling of his character. A guy who is very concerned for other people! So! I can see him doing healthcare in some shape or form. Narancia getting a BSN?? Nurse Narancia??? yes please!!

BONUS!!

Trish:

I know Trish becomes a popstar in PHF (which,,,, don’t hate me but,,, I’m not super crazy about it), but I can see her studying fashion design. Maybe it’s because I used to go to a school with a really rigorous fashion design program, but I can see Trish having fun there (while also being challenged!) and also putting out some really great work. Expect the guys to come and hang out with her in the studio when she has to work on projects overnight—Bruno and Abbacchio are the first to come and the rest come waltzing in soon after. Mista and Fugo usually come last to join them and bring a lot of snacks for the night.
