never getting over the way people look at the early chapters of bsd and the way dazais suicide attempts are framed and the ada’s response to them and come to the conclusion that 'the ada doesn’t care about dazai’ rather than 'asagiri has some questionable views'

#bc these attempts are continually framed as funny #they’re not meant to be taken seriously by the other characters not the readers #they’re meant as dazai’s character quirk the narrative never takes them seriously #so to come to the conclusion that it’s just the ada members being purposely mean is ridiculous #esp when we see later on that this behavior is at odds with their views/actions regarding the value of life #it’s not them it’s literally just asagiri #bsd fans have such a hard time criticizing this man it’s insane #txt.#i might elaborate on this if i find the energy #the discourse regarding dazai’s attempts is just. unbearable #the way his trauma is treated as a justification for him to be an absolute dickhead is crazy #mental health issues aren’t a moral high ground but ppl seem to have a hard time wrapping their heads around that #ada getting flack from the fans for not coddling him. insanity #anyway. adding this to the never ending list of posts i should make
