Finished what was supposed to be a simple sketch of Bryndis. I eventually gave up on drawing the embroidery on her clothes myself and used some Polish embroidery brushes provided by other people in the Clip Studio Paint assets.

Bryndís Snæbjörnsdóttir and Mark Wilson
"A project exploring what happens when domestic animals transgress the invisible and unspoken boundaries that separate landscapes of domestication and wildness? In October 2009, a small flock of feral sheep that had persisted for some decades in an inaccessible part of the Westfjords of Iceland was rounded up by a team of men and dogs from the neighbouring communities. Some nineteen sheep were caught, but five more perished as they ran off steep cliffs attempting to evade their captors. Despite (or perhaps because) the incident had caused so much public interest, all those caught were sent to the abattoir the following day. Prior to the round-up, observations were reported suggesting that some physiological adaptations in the sheep were evident. The opportunity to investigate a supposed increase in leg length was lost with the summary disposal of the carcasses."

Welcome to my Guild Wars blog!
Posts here will only be Guild Wars related, I will sometimes post/reblog content that contains spoilers for the game but I'll do my best to tag it appropriately even if it's a tiny spoiler. I also like to mention my OCs sometimes and occasionally I'll reblog other people's OCs!
Here's a list of my current OCs (all of them go by she/her):
Twilight Octavia
My Commander and main, a Sylvari Necromancer, who is the one in my icon! Traumatized and a little jaded from everything she's gone through, but she still cares deeply for her friends, so much so that she's often been known to put their needs before her own even in the most extreme circumstances.
Astromancer Tavii
My Asuran Elementalist and WvW main, she's kind and a bit hyperactive, you wouldn't know it from her cutesy appearance that she's an expert with her staff. Unlike most Asura she doesn't look down on non-Asura for their intelligence, she instead finds kindness to be a more valuable trait to see in others.
Firstborn Juniper
A Sylvari Ranger and a Firstborn, her connection with nature and animals drew her to leave the Grove quite early, she feels it's her duty to defend innocent creatures and the land they inhabit from harm. Her first pet, Spinach the sylvan hound, travels with her wherever she goes.
Nyx Nightpaw
A Charr Thief, an anarchist who loves her friends and has a secret soft side. Just because she's a thief doesn't mean she lacks morals though! Any respectable thief has a strong set of values and morals that they follow, which she says is why she usually only steals from the rich.
Celestia Abellona
A Norn Guardian, she vows to protect those in need, and she values doing the right thing for the greater good, even at the expense of her personal or ancestral legacy.
Alessia Bryndis
A Human Warrior from Elona, she admired Sunspears growing up and eventually became one herself. She grew up poor after her family moved to Tyria, but she hasn't let that stop her from much, and she's always there for her friends. One day she will return to Elona to be with her fellow Sunspears once more.
Alchemancer Akko
An Asuran Engineer, "Believing in yourself is your magic" is her motto, a little impulsive but she never gives up or turns her back on her friends. (Yes, this character is partially inspired by Atsuko Kagari from Little Witch Academia)
Vesta Mistpaw
Vesta has a gruff exterior and is fierce when she needs to be, but she has a lot of love for those she's close with and is the first to volunteer to protect her friends or fight those that hurt them. Now an Olmakhan, she was Blood Legion before becoming disillusioned with the legions and wars. She initially joined Blood to use her strength and ferocity to protect those she cared about, but the treatment she received after most of warband died, the treatment of her gladium sire, and her eventual understanding that her killing of Legionnaire Urvan Steelbane never could have fundamentally changed or fixed anything, led to her becoming disillusioned with the high legions as a whole and the Charr culture at Black Citadel. Her discovery of the Olmakhan was the last thing she needed to finally leave Ascalon behind, convincing as much of her warband as she could to join her. Knowing that there was a Charr society that was communal rather than hierarchical, one that wasn't in an endless war, she finally found a place that truly felt like somewhere she could call home.
I have a couple other characters who I'll be adding to this list in the future, but these are most of them ^-^
#i literally spent weeks getting all the pictures and profiles as perfect as i could for this but I'm so happy with how it turned out!#gw2#guild wars 2#gw2 oc#gw2 ocs#oc#ocs#my ocs#my oc#Twilight Octavia#Astromancer Tavii#Firstborn Juniper#Nyx Nightpaw#Celestia Abellona#Alessia Bryndis#Alchemancer Akko#Vesta Mistpaw

Twilight wouldn't post often but when she does it would be the most insane thing you'd see, only for there to be weeks of no posts before and after. Like no posts for months then suddenly posts a selfie with Balthazar in the distance captioned "boutta go fight god brb".
Nyx would run a leftist anarchist blog on Tumblr, full of propaganda (affectionate), leftist memes, and tips/info about protesting and fighting the system/rich that barely avoids bans. She would also have an anonymous Reddit account where she mostly comments and shares memes on leftist subreddits.
Tavii would run a pastel/positivity aesthetic blog and maybe Instagram account, with trans positive/affirmation posts scattered throughout.
Akko would have a fairly basic Instagram account posting her with her friends and her adventures and inventions.
Juniper would post on a few platforms solely images of her pets along with the occasional nature picture. She has tons of followers because her pets are adorable c:
Alessia would have a Facebook or something where she only occasionally posts, sharing news about happenings in the Crystal Desert and the Sunspears.
Celestia would post the typical stuff you'd think Norn would post about, such as boasting about her hunts and treasures she finds, along with pictures of her at moots and the like.
And I feel like Vesta wouldn't really use social media much at all. Mostly just lurking on occasion to see the things her friends share.
Bonus (the characters I've yet to formally introduce on here):
Bunhild would post the cute bunnies and other critters she befriends, along with happenings in the Shiverpeaks, and anti-poaching and animal rights posts.
Elenia would have Tumblr, Instagram, and/or Facebook accounts where she occasionally posts scenic pictures of Sandswept Isles and the Olmakhan village, along with the occasional cool and notable fish she catches (think the stereotypical fishing social media post but instead it's a cute short Olmakhan charr looking very happy/excited).
Alya would have a Facebook and Instagram account where she posts generic and kinda cheesy (but generally positive) Dwayna-focused religious stuff, and also posts about opportunities to help the less fortunate.
If your gw2 OCs had access to social media, what kind of account would they run and(/or) on what platform?
Maelgwyn would absolutely have a thirst trap insta/tiktok account he’d enjoy the attention and think the reaction he got was funny as hell.
Louis & Pyrs would run one of those sickeningly genuinely sweet couples’ accounts on youtube/insta.
Sugyn would lurk on twitch or smthin.
Belial has one of those obscure youtube accounts that posts absolute nonsense and every once in awhile you get recommended a cursed video from them. they absolutely also have a cursed tiktok (and they keep terrorizing trahearne with their accounts)
#i love this prompt it was really fun to think about what they would all do on social media :D#Twilight Octavia#Nyx Nightpaw#Astromancer Tavii#Alchemancer Akko#Firstborn Juniper#Alessia Bryndis#Celestia Abellona#Vesta Mistpaw#Bunhild#Sandshifter Elenia#Dame Alya#my oc#my ocs#prompt#oc prompt#gw2 ocs#gw2 oc

hi lizz! i’m currently taking an elective course on the bibles usage in art throughout history and am writing a piece on art ushering in religious experiences/ art being used to fill the vacuum left by religion in the modern day. i was wondering if you had any particular favourite pieces that invoke these feelings in yourself? i’ve also suffered a loss in my family this week and amas has been very comforting in this time so i wanted to thank you <3
Hi! Oof, what a question! I've been trying to consider what this might specifically mean for me- the idea of something that would fill a religious vacuum. I think I have a couple ideas, but I don't know if they are specifically what you want.
When I think of what you are describing, I think of moments of wonder and being overwhelmed and sometimes feeling a little horror, a little confusion. I think of nature and man made objects sitting with each other in uneasy ways, of history and time collapsing in on themselves.
I think of Jan Fabre's 2002 work Hall of Mirrors, which was installed in the Royal Palace of Brussels. I have a lot of gripes with Fabre's practice as a whole, but there is something undoubtedly spectacular about this work and the fact that these beetle wing casings will probably long outlive the palace they've been placed in. They will retain their color and luster after the building has crumbled to dust.

I think of Olafur Eliasson's Ice Watch and Mark Wilson and Bryndis Snaebjornsdottir's Nanoq: Flat Out and Bluesome, because I find the idea of encountering evidence of a disappearing environment like this to be unsettling and otherworldly and frightening and therefore holy. In Ice Watch, Eliasson installs icebergs into cities, where they will melt before our eyes. In Nanoq, all the taxidermied polar bears in The United Kingdom were placed in one room- an ark of anxiety as to why and how these bears arrived in these places and how this may soon be the only way we can see them.

I also think of Dario Robleto's work- most of it, to be honest- because it attempts to reach through time to explore experiences of love and death and tries to see how those sensations might be made physical. Robleto's work deserves a longer explanation than I currently have time for, but he is certainly worth sitting with for quite awhile.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ecc4ce5becd7ed72428e23eb4a845d3c/ac619d741894bc5e-76/s540x810/d46048e03c7f718b44628401487286b90d1e54f7.jpg)

You might also look at the work of Guadalupe Maravilla if you're thinking of direct mystical experiences, or someone like Adrian Villar Rojas whose work has to do a lot with the displacement of objects in time. The Theater of Disappearance is very dear to me and was, indeed, a religious experience to walk through.
Somewhere in my house I have a copy of Art and Religion in the 21st Century by Aaron Rosen- I remember enjoying its approach to the subject, if you aren't familiar with that book already.
I'm very sorry for your loss, and happy that AMAS has been a comfort.

Lyrics:
Open my chest and colour my spine
I'm giving you all
I'm giving you all
Swallow my breath
And take what is mine
I'm giving you all
I'm giving you all
I'll be the blood
If you'll be the bones
I'm giving you all
I'm giving you all
So lift up my body
And lose all control
I'm giving you all
I'm giving you all
You hover like a hummingbird
Haunt me in my sleep
You'll sailing from another world
Sinking in my sea, oh
You're feeding on my energy
I'm letting go of it
She wants it
And I run from wolves, ooh
Breathing heavily
At my feet
And I run from wolves, ooh
Tearing into me
Without teeth
I can see through you
We are the same
It's perfectly strange
You run in my veins
How can I keep you
Inside my lungs
I breathe what is yours
You breathe what is mine
You hover like a hummingbird
Haunt me in my sleep
You'll sailing from another world
Sinking in my sea, oh
You're feeding on my energy
I'm letting go of it
He wants it
And I run from wolves, ooh
Breathing heavily
At my feet
And I run from wolves, ooh
Tearing into me
Without teeth
And you can follow
You can follow me
You can follow
You can follow me
You hover like a hummingbird
Haunt me in my sleep
You're sailing from another world
Sinking in my sea, oh
"You're feeding on my energy
I'm letting go of it" she once said
And I run from wolves, ooh
Breathing heavily
At my feet
And I run from wolves, ooh
Tearing into me
Without teeth
Songwriter:
And you can follow
You can follow me and
You can follow

And you can follow
You can follow me
You can follow
