The pier was collapsing, you knew it, after you and Bruno had finished killing Butcho the clown zombie it was like fate wanted you dead.

Bruno’s POV

As the pier creaked and groaned under our feet, (y/n) and I had a moment of realization - the pier was about to collapse. We had just finished dealing with a freaking zombie clown, and now the pier itself seemed intent on delivering the final blow to our already crazy day.

“Bruno….?”

“Yeah, I'm here. What's going on? This pier is giving me the willies. Feels like it's about to break apart any second now.”

”run” was all (y/n) said before pushing me

As (y/n) urgently hissed "run," I didn't hesitate. Without a moment's delay, I pushed off the weakening surface of the pier and took off running. My heart was pumping like mad, adrenaline taking over as I followed her lead away from the crumbling structure.

(Y/n) stayed in her spot

As I kept running, something nudged me to glance back over my shoulder. There I saw (Y/N), standing firm in her spot, unwavering and resolute. A sense of unease washed over me. Why wasn't she following? Was she planning something?

“I’m sorry bruno , I have to do this” she said

I skidded to a halt, my heart in my throat, as I heard (y/n)’s words. "Wait, what do you mean, you have to do this?" I called out to her, worry and confusion in my voice. What the heck was she planning? Why was she staying behind?

“Go” I saw her whisper

As (y/n) whispered "go" to me, a sharp pang of realization hit me. She was sacrificing herself, telling me to leave without her. Conflict and concern wrestled with reason in my mind. I couldn't just abandon her here.

The pier then collapsed and she screamed and fell into the water.

Shock and horror coursed through my veins as I witnessed the pier collapsing beneath(Y/n)'s feet, her scream cutting through the air as she plummeted into the water. My heart thudded in my chest, panic and fear threatening to consume me.

The sight of (Y/n) hitting the water sent a jolt through me. A primal, visceral scream ripped from my throat, a mix of shock and horror at the scene before me. I ran to the edge of the collapsed pier, my mind racing, a million thoughts and emotions swirling within me. I couldn’t see her.

I peered anxiously into the water, searching frantically for any sign of (Y/n). But all I could see was the dark, choppy surface of the water, its depths hiding any trace of her.

The next morning-You’re POV

“ow fuck guess the laws of nature changed their mind” you looked around for Bruno and got up "Damn, I guess mother nature had a change of heart," you muttered.

You slowly made your way across the sand, every step a struggle, you focused on the destination: the lifeguard HQ. It was the only building in sight, and your hope was that you could find help or supplies there. The journey was arduous, each drag of your feet sending a wave of pain through your body, but you pushed forward, fueled by determination.

You reached the stairs and climbed onto a car, finally finding some reprieve as your body relaxed slightly. Letting out a sigh of relief, you murmured, "At least I'll be safe up here." Climbing further, you made her way inside the guard tower's entrance.

You stumbled across a medkit in the guard tower, a glimmer of hope sparking within you. Carefully, you picked up the kit and opened it, searching through its contents. Your eyes widened as you found the medical supplies you needed. You went to work, using the kit to tend to your injuries and ease the pain in your body.

You grimaced as you found an adrenaline shot in the medkit. "Damn," you muttered before biting tour lip and injecting yourself with it. The adrenaline shot hit your system like a jolt, dulling the pain and giving you a burst of energy. You exhaled heavily as the effects took hold.

“I wonder what happened with Bruno” you thought

End of Your POV

Bruno stumbled and stumbled through the deserted streets of LA, his heart heavy with worry and guilt. He had survived the pier collapse, but the memory of Your sacrifice weighed heavily on his mind.

"What have I done? Why did I leave her behind? Dammit, she sacrificed herself for me, and I just... ran." He muttered to himself.

Bruno froze as the radio at his side suddenly crackled with static. The unexpected sound snapped him out of his spiraling thoughts. He reached for the radio, a flicker of hope igniting within him. Could it be you?

Bruno's heart thumped in his chest as he raised the radio to his lips, his voice tinged with anticipation.

“Hello? Is anyone there?" he responded, his fingers gripping the radio tightly. The static crackled in his ears, filling the otherwise silent street with a wave of anxious anticipation.

“Hello?” A male voice answered

Bruno's brow furrowed as a male voice crackled through the radio. He gripped the device tighter in his hands, both relief and curiosity coursing through him.

“Who is this?" he asked, his voice a mix of wariness and intrigue.

”Names Ezekiel and I’m here at the lifeguard tower at the beach by the pier”

Bruno’s eyes widened as the man named Ezekiel identified himself over the radio. The mention of the lifeguard tower at the beach by the pier caught his attention

“Ezekiel, you said you’re at the lifeguard tower? Are…are you alone ?” He questioned he mind racing with worry for you.

“No i actually came in a second ago and I see a young woman in here”

Bruno’s heart skipped a beat at the mention of a young woman..could it be?

“A young woman, you say? What does she look like?” He asked urgently, desperation creeping into his voice.

“She had (y/h/c) and (y/e/c)”

Bruno’s mind raved as he processed the description given by Ezekiel, (y/h/c) and (y/e/c)..it could be you.

“(Y/h/c) and (y/e/c) you say, is…is she alright? Is she conscious?” He inquired gripping the radio tightly, praying for good news.

“Yes she is, she just told me she dragged herself here from the shoreline and healed herself up”

Bruno exhaled a sigh of relief, tension draining from his body.

“So she’s conscious and alright. You said she dragged herself from the shoreline and healed herself up? That..that sounds like her alright,” he remarked his voice a mix of gratitude and lingering worry.

“Can I speak with her?” He asks urgently hoping to hear your voice

“You sure you think it is who you think it is?”

Bruno’s heart thumped in his chest as he considered the question posed by Ezekiel. He was desperate to believe it was you, but doubt still tugged at the corners of his mind.

“Yes..yes I think that it is her. Let me speak with her please, I just need to hear her voice” bruno pleaded his voice think with emotion.

“Ok here she is..”

Bruno waited anxiously, his heart rate quickening as he braced for your voice to come through on the radio. The silence felt deafening , his mind a whirlwind of anticipation and worry. Finally the sound of shuffling and crackling broke the pause.

“Hello?” A familiar voice. And through on the radio, weakened but unmistakably your’s.

Bruno’s breath hitched as he heard your voice through the radio. A wave of mixed emotions crashed over him, relief, guilt and gratitude intertwining within him.

“(Y/n)….” He responded his voice filled with a mixture of worry and joy “is it really you?”

You stopped before saying “yes bruno, it’s me

Bruno’s heart swelled with comfort as you confirmed your identity on the radio, a wave of relief washed over him, but guilt still tugged at his conscience.

“Thank god you’re okay, I..I was so worried about you’l he confessed, his voice thick with emotion.

“Where are you?”

Bruno’s heart ached as he heard the longing in your voice. He longed to be by your side to provide comfort and reassurance.

“I’m near the beach not far from the tower” he responded, his voice a mix of assurance and regret.

“Are you well (Y/n/n)? Your voice sounds weak”

“I guess so, but I dragged myself from the shoreline in fucking pain to get here”

His heart ached as he heard the pain in your voice. His guilt intensified, knowing that she had put herself through so much pain and struggle just to get to the lifeguard tower.

“Damnit (Y/n) you shouldn’t have done that” he replied, a mixture of concern and helplessness lacing his words. “You overexerted yourself, that was reckless”

“I was trying to save your ass”

Bruno’s chest tightened with built as your words rang true. Yes you had done all of that for him, you had risked your health and saftey for him.

“I know I know, but you didn’t have to do that. Damn, if something had happened to you…” he trialed off, his voice filled with regret and remorse “you shouldn’t have risked so much for me”

“I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing, I promise it won’t happen again” you said

His heart ached as he listened to your reassuring words. He understood her desire to help, but the fear of losing you weighed heavily on him.

“I know you wanted to help, (y/n) , but please promise me that you won’t put yourself in danger like that again,” he pleaded his voice to bed with worry. “ I can’t stand the thought of you getting hurt because of me”

“ I won’t promise anything” you said knowing if you did you could die any other day.

Bruno’s heart clenched as you declined to make the promise, damn why were you being so stubborn.

“Damnit, (Y/n), dont be so goddamn stubborn, Why won’t you make the promise?” He retorted his voice a mix of frustration and concern “I just want to know your safe, and that you won’t put yourself in any more danger again”.

You sighed “I promise”

His shoulders slumped as he heard you finally relent. Relief washed over him, but an inkling of worry still remained.

“Thank you, (Y/n), I appreciate you making the promise. Just..just take care of yourself alright? I..I can’t lose you,” he responded voice a mix of gratitude and lingering worry “ are you sure you’re alright up there in the lifeguard tower?”

“Wait a sec…did you..did you leave me?

Bruno’s heart skipped a beat as your question came through. He had been dreading this moment, knowing he had to confess his actions.

“(Y/n)…about that,….i” he stammered, struggling to find the words to explain himself. He wanted to be honest, but the thought of telling you the truth made his chest ache.

“You know what…save it” and with that you hung up.

Bruno’s heart dropped as you ended the conversation abruptly. He could practically feel your anger and disappointment through the radio.

“No damnit wait!” He exclaimed, desperately trying to get you to connect again but it was too late, the line went dead and he was left alone with his thoughts and flood of guilt.

You sat with Ezekiel “fucking bastard left me”

“Damnit!” Bruno cursed, kicking a nearby trash can in a fit of frustration and guilt. He hated himself for leaving you behind, at the time he had been so consumed by panic and self-preservation it seemed like his only option.

“Hey Zeke?” You said making the man at the telescope look at you.

Zeke was observing the area through the telescope when your voice filled called out to him, catching him off-guard.

“Yeah” he responded

“I’m going to head back the Serling hotel….if he comes by…” you trial off

He raised an eyebrow a hint of curiosity in his eyes

“You’re heading back to The Serling hotel?Why?” He asked you turning to face you fully.

“There’s a doctor there I gotta give this laptop too” you said

Zeke’s expression changed slightly serious a flicker of intrigue crossing his features.

“A doctor at the Serling hotel, huh? And you’ve got a laptop for him?” He questioned, the wheels of curiosity turning in his mind. “What’s in that laptop if you don’t mind me asking?”

“He won’t say..private stuff I assume but if bruno comes here..tell him to forget it…that asshole” you growl.

He considered your words a hint of amusement crossing his face

“So if bruno shows up here we’re supposed to tell him to forget it? Interesting” he commented suppressing a slight smirk “must’ve pissed you off, that guy, what did he do anyway?”

“ I decided to be a hero and save his ass by ‘sacrificing myself and I fell into the water and I heard him scream to me but I came to and he wasn’t around” you told him.

Zekes eyes widened in surprise as you detailed your story. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“Damn, so he screamed for you, but then just up’d and disappeared? Thats cold man” he commented, his voice laced with shock and disbelief. “ o wonder your so pissed at him”

“He left me…”

His expression turned somber as you conveyed your disappointment.

“Damn…sounds like he really messed up. Leaving you behind like that..Thats messed up” he responded a lang of sympathy in his voice. “You really care about him don’t you?”

You look at him “I do but I don’t know anymore after that stunt he pulled”

Zeke nodded his expression one of comprehension.

“I understand that, betrayal like that. A really mess with your trust and feelings” he acknowledged, leaning against the railing nearby “have you given any thought to what your gonna do about bruno? Are you gonna forgive him a second chance or….?” He trailed off.

“I think I’m just gonna leave and never come back..tell him not to bother looking for. If he comes by he wears a black beanie, has dreads and a very Soundcloud rapper style”

Zeke nodded silently committing the description by memory “black beanie, dreads, and a Soundcloud rapper style…got it” he repeated filling away the info.

“So you’re leaving and you want me to tell him to not bother looking for ya?” He confirmed looking at your expression. “Sounds like you’re serious about moving on”

“I don’t know if I trust him after what he did” you walk to the door “bye Zeke, it was nice knowing you”

He smiles faintly a mix of understanding and sympathy in his eyes.

“It was nice talking to you too (Y/n), you’re a tough one” he said giving you a nod of respect “take care of yourself out there”

“ I will” you said heading off toward the sewers and going back to the Serling.

As bruno stepped into the lifeguard tower, he immediately noticed the presence of the other person inside, the figure was a man, his features not clearly visible at first.

“I’m Zeke..the guy you were talking to earlier”

Bruno’s eyes widened in surprise, recognising his voice “Zeke? It’s you?” He asked tension leaving his shoulders as he realized who it was “what are you doing here man?”

“Staying put and safe..that girl”

Bruno’s chest tightened at the mention of you “you mean (y/n)? He inquired, his voice betraying a hint of desperation “where is she?is she alright”

“Yes..she told me to tell you not to bother looking for her”

Bruno’s heart clenched in his chest as he heard zekes words. You didn’t want to be found. Damn it he had really messed up, hadn’t he?.

“She..she said that?” He managed to ask his voice full of emotion. “Did she say anything else?”

“She was pretty pissed and she said that she was going to leave and never come back”

Bruno’s mind raced with anxiety as he processed the information. You were angry and planning to leave possibly forever.

“Damnit” he muttered, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “I messed up big time. I can’t lose her man I gotta find her, talk to her, explain…”

“You can’t lose her?”

Bruno nodded, his expression serious, full of determination.

“Yeah, I can’t lose her. She’s..she’s important to me you know?” He confessed his voice laced with an emotion rarely expressed. “I need to find her..make things right and explain myself. I messed up, but if I can find her..maybe I can still fix things”

“You’re in love with her…aren’t you?” Zeke said

Bruno’s heart skipped a beat. Zekes question catching him off guard. He hadn’t expected his feelings to be so obvious.

“Yeah…yeah I am” he admitted, a tinge of vulnerability in his voice. “Damn does it really show that much?”

“Just by the way you are worrying about her..yes”

“Damnit I’m such an idiot, I should’ve protected her and stayed by her side but I was a goddamn coward,” he cursed, hating himself for his actions “now she’s angry and wants nothing to do with me.its all my fault”

“Hey man dont say that, you can still fix things but if you don’t catch up to her you will never get the chance”

Meanwhile You continued through the sewers and just by the to the Serling

“Ugh I will never get used to the sewers” you said

Bruno spotted you in the distance and approached you his heart pounding, this was his chance.

You turned and glared at him “you. You turned around and quickened the pace.

You ran and he called out “(Y/n)!!”

You didn’t stop “there’s nothing to talk about”

Bruno began to panic he couldn’t lose you again. He couldn’t let you walk away like this

“Wait wait dont just walk away damnit” he exclaimed his voices strained with desperation “please just listen to me for a minute”

Sprinting up to the second floor of the hotel you get into the saferoom and give the doc his laptop

“Here you go doc I’m not sticking around I’m not coming back”

Bruno leaned against the wall beside the door listening to each word the guilt eating at him as you yanked the door opening running off.

He followed after you

After a bit you leaned against the wall of the quarantine zone near the tower.

Bruno saw you and his heart dropped..he just wanted to reach out and hold you and comfort you but he knew he didn’t have that right.

“Why does everyone betray me” you sob and bruno felt his stomach drop at your words.

“Why did I let myself get to close, I thought we had something special” you whisper

We did have something special I ruined it bruno thought

After a bit more crying and mumbling you back into him which shocked him because he hadn’t meant for you to back into him he was in his own world.

“BRUNO WHAT THE FUCK!” You yell

“Alright calm down” he said

“Calm down your telling me to calm down”

“Ok sorry”

You stare at him “what do you want?”

“Look (y/n) I was a fool to do that to you..I was scared because of my feelings and the thought of losing you scared me so I ran..” he spoke

“You ran when I needed you the most”

“I know I’m sorry” he mumbled apology after apology

“ bruno..” you say

“You can tell me anything what is it” he said

He was shocked when your lips pressed agasint his and he froze. After the shock wore off he kissed back.

Pulling away he said “I promise I won’t do that again”

You were sitting on the couch at Emma’s with Sam sitting across from you absent-mindedly looking around the room deep in though as Carlos stood behind the bar area with Ronnie sitting on the other couch talking to Sam about how he could get him goods and such.

The front door opened and you looked up and saw Bruno walk in, he looked like so tired you could tell by the way he was walking half slumped over.

You had to be honest..he hadn’t slept in almost a good two days since he was always out doing favors

“Bruno-“ you said

He looked up and beelined for you collapsing into your arms. You held him as he fell into your arms in pure exhaustion “hey I’m here it’s ok”

Bruno held to you tightly as if he was afraid you’d disappear if he let go. Finally he mumbled “I’m tired”

“Ok come one let’s go you need rest ” you said leading him out of the main area.

You lead him up the stairs into a room Emma had so kindly offered and you open the door shutting it behind you as lay on the bed with Bruno.

He immediately wrapped his arms around your waist and snuggled into your side and you couldn’t help but giggle at his cuteness.

“Night..” he mumbled tiredly

“Goodnight” you said holding him

-The Next Morning-

You awoke to the sunlight streaming through the window and you blinked shielding your eyes from the brightness.

Looking down to still see a sleeping Bruno beside you, you try to move to get up but find his arms wrapping tighter around your waist.

Sighing in defeat you stay laying on the bed and Bruno finally stirred awake.

He smiled up at you “Morning Mi amor”

“Morning to you too sleepyhead” you giggle

He sat up and rubbed his eyes and looked at yiu “yiur a great pillow”

“And that you do” he smiled kissing your forehead.

You blush as he does and then you quickly hide it and say “can you promise me one thing?”

“Of course, now tell me”

“You have to promise to sleep more regularly, look honey I know you want to help people and find a way out of this hellhole but you can’t do that if your exhausted” you tell him.

He nods “your right mi amor, I promise I will”

You smile “good cause I don’t want you to be tired all time”

Tears streamed down your face as you ran as fast as you could, your breathing becoming heavy with emotions and from running.

You had gotten home from work where something truly heartbroken layed in wait.

Start of flashback

“Hey babe I’m home” you called out to your lover .

Silence was the only thing that answered you back and you frown, generally your lover would shout back ‘welcome home’ and then give you a hug but this time around was different.

It was odd, and you were going to find out why.

You walk towards your shared bedroom and hear noises coming from inside and your jaw dropped in shock.

You opened the door to see your lover and your friend in bed together.

“HOW FUCKING DARE YOU 2!” You scream at them while they shouted apologies at you while getting their clothes back on.

“Too late for that now” you say as you run out of the front door and sprint as fast as you can away from it all.

You only had one place in mind: Your best friend Bruno’s house.

After what seemed like ages you finally reached his house and knocked on it as you wiped away your tears.

The door opens up and Bruno immediately got concerned by the look of hurt and betrayal on your face and you flung yourself into his arms and he wrapped them around you protectively

“What’s wrong bug” he asked you. Bug was his nickname for you because you hung around him a lot, like a bug, which is were the name stemmed from.

You pull back from his chest and looked up at him and with sadness in your voice

“The-ey cheat-ed o-on me” you hiccuped as more tears flowed down your cheeks like a river as you bury your face in his shirt again.

Bruno stopped and stared at you, your lover cheated on you?

Was that fucker really stupid to let someone so beautiful inside and out go? Did they not see how worthy you were of loving?

These questions ran through his mind but all that was important to him right now was comforting you.

“Hey let’s get you inside” he said gently as you went with you inside and led you too the couch were you both sat down.

He cupped your face and wiped away your tears with his thumbs as he spoke

“Hey, do you want to tell me what happened, you don’t have to though, don’t feel forced” he said.

“No No, I-I’ll tell you” you said and then you told him what had happened.

The more you revealed, the more Angry Bruno got, you yourself saw it in his body language by the way his hands balled into fists and by his face which was red.

When you finished he muttered “ Voy a matar a ese maldito imbécil. (I’m going to kill that fucking asshole.)”

He then took your hands in his and you blushed, you weren’t gonna lie, you had feelings for Bruno, but you were happy in your relationship..to an extent.

But that relationship didn’t matter anymore now.

Bruno looked you deep in your eyes and you said “ Bru, I feel like I’m not good enough, I guess it’s my fault that the relationship failed, I guess no one actually loves me”

“Hey hey, c’mon don’t say that, they MADE that choice on their own, you were in no way at fault.” He said. He hated that you said that stuff about yourself because it’s not true.

You smile “thanks hustle mcbustle”

He sighed at the nickname “how many times are you gonna call me that”

You shrug “as long as I know you”

“Also about no one loving you….i actually am in love with you” he said

“Your what” you said

This was it, the home stretch, the final showdown between you and Bruno against Doctor Reed, to stop this madness.

The blood was pumping in your ears as you and Bruno hopped over the fence leaving Emma and Sam with Patton and running down the carpet of, what was supposed to house big celebrities that was now littered with blood and a few lone walkers.

You take out a few lone walkers along the way and head towards the reaching clinic killing some more that were wandering about and investigate the area.

Bruno walks over to a keypad that opens the doors but found it wasn’t working and inspected the arrows lodges into the surrounded area of the wall.

“Must have been protecting her dad” Bruno said quietly and turned to you.

You noticed a giant statue of a Romero leaned up against the building towards the window.

“What is it babe?” Bruno asked looking at where you were looking

“They must of used that statue to get up to the window ledge there” you pointed out

He gave a nod “good eye”

You climbed up onto the statue and up to the ledge into the window and Bruno watched you and followed after you.

Jumping onto the ground you look around and don’t notice anything strange or out of place..why would the doc come here?

You and Bruno gave each other confused glances and he asked “why would he come here?”

“I don’t know but we have to get into that room behind the counter” you said

After finding the keys to the room you and Bruno walk in and look around to see just normal room with a desk in the middle of it with some cabinets and draw.

There was no sign of the doc or Tisha either which only added to your confusion.

You began to investigate and Bruno found some info that helped and then you look under the desk and see a button and pressed it.

As you did, it opened up the bookshelf in the corner of the room.

Bruno gave a laugh “Ha, of course a secret room” he grabbed your hand “let’s go”.

You walk in through the secret passageway and comjng out onto the other side as you turn left and continue onwards and ahead.

Both of you walk through that door and out and there in the room in a glass cage is Dr Reed and Tisha standing on the outside of it looking in.

“Nice place you got here doc,shame I got to shut you down ey” your boyfriend said breaking the silence.

“What?! You don’t understand?!” He said

After a bit more back and forth Reed ended up turning into one of those mutators and you and Bruno had to kill him while being careful of other infected.

You and Bruno worked effortlessly to bring him down and did.

“God..thst was a lot” you panted

“I know mi Amor…let’s get out of here” he said grabbing your hand again and running.

You dodge some walkers as you make your way out of the clinic and diwn the carpet again and hope over the fence.

“Mi amor…” Bruno said

“Yeah?” You replied back

“Tisha isnt here…” he said and you knew that meant no good.

“Yeah we need her to cure”

“I know…I have to find her” he said looking into your eyes

You then said “I’m going with you”

Bruno sighed and chuckled “cant argue with you, your stubborn as hell”

Smiling you say “you know it baby”

He just chuckled again as he watched you say goodbye to Emma and Sam and Patton.

You may have been stubborn and fierce as hell but that’s why he loved you in the first place.

Bruno turns to look back at the house. You couldn’t see it but tears streamed down his face at the thought of not seeing you again, he loved you and his heart felt a pain he has never felt before.

He drew a shakey breath and continued in his journey. If it’s the last thing he does…he would never let you go.

~Present~

It had been a full day since you had last seen Bruno leave Emma’s. The pain in your heart seemed to increase the more you thought about him.

You thought that the tension you had between you both was special but it looks like you were wrong.

You guys ended up burying Michael next to Emma’s dog Sam (whom she named after Sammy) and placed his ‘mentor of the year’ award on his cross.

It had been quiet to say the least, for the past day. You had been up in your room for most of your time not talking or seeing anyone apart from coming down to eat but other than that no one hadn’t heard from you

Emma,of course had gone up to comfort you and if you hadn’t come down to get food,she would bring it to you. You sat opposite her on the bed and she would talk to you.

“Hey” you said looking at her

“Hi” came her reply, it was barley above a whisper

It was silent for a good minute before Emma spoke up again “I’m sorry”.

You look at her confused “for what”.

“For the way I acted…I was selfish to do that to Bruno” she said not looking at you.

“Why are you apologising to me and not him” you ask

She looks up at you and into your eyes “because I see the way you two look at each other”

Your face goes red and you rub your neck “oh that…there’s nothing going on between us.. I don’t think that there ever will be…well that’s if I see him again”.

“How do you know…he might like you?” She said

“You know the night we crashed, and he found us” she said. You nodded and signal for her to continue with curiosity.

“When Bruno looked at you when you were helping Ronnie with his injuries when Michael told him out names, Bruno was checking you out” she said

“Uh so I wasn’t crazy and he actually did” you say

“Yes and he smirked, lord knows what he wants to do to you or what the thoughts he has of you are but I don’t think I want to know” she said with a laugh.

This makes you giggle “don’t blame you”

There was a static noise coming from the radio on Emma’s hip.

You both wonder what it could be and Emma picked it up and Bruno’s voice came through.

“Emma jaunt do you read me” he said.

Upon hearing his voice, it sent butterflies fluttering in your stomach and that giddy feeling.

“Ok no need to tell the whole world it’s me” she said with an annoyed tone “anyway I wanted to talk to you about poor dear Michael..I was upset..you didn’t have to actually leave”

“It’s fine, I had to go to find the doc anyway” he continued.

Emma have you a smile and exited the room leaving you alone for a bit.

When she walked out of the room she spoke up again “Yeah well if that doesn’t work out, your always welcome back here, (Y/N) has been a bit heartbroken over you leaving”

On the other end of the line Bruno’s face went bright red at Emma’s words. You really were sad he was gone and so was he over leaving you.

“She/he/they uh, she/he/they are?”he says

“Yes, She/he/they care about you” Emma said

Bruno felt his heart beat fast, god he fucked up, he loved you so fucking much it hurt. He couldn’t bear the pain any longer, he just wanted you in his arms.

“You know” he heard Emma start “it’s hard to watch you two stutter around each other and not have your love admitted yet.”

It was silent while Bruno tried to think of what to say to that. Yes he liked you more so but he was going to ask you out if it hadn’t been so chaotic with Michael’s death. He kinda lost the courage to ask you out of fear to be honest.

“I..um…” he stuttered

“Look, once you do what you need to do and find a way to get us out, let us know and we will come to you, but you better ask (Y/N) out” Emma said as she was saying goodbye.

Bruno sighed. He knew she was right, he HAD to ask you out. He wanted to be with you more than anything.

-Time skip-

Bruno finally made it to the Serling hotel and made his way up the stairs to the safe room.

He walked towards this locked door and knocked before the peep hole opened with a woman holding a gun.

“Woah easy I don’t bite” Bruno put his hands up in defence.

A darker male who was older walked up to stand next to the woman at the hole.

“Is that so? Your not here to eat us then” Bruno knew that voice and it was Dr Reed.

“Eh I’m a picky eater” Bruno said smugly.

“Ha, quite the comedian, does he look human to you” Reed says to the woman.

“Hmmm so and so” she replies.

“Ok, human’s can be redeemed, let him in” reed says “keep up the good work Denise”

She opens the door for Bruno and Reed puts his hand on his shoulder as Reed leads him to his research room.

Bruno’s POV

Reed was telling me about my immunity and how it could cure humanity but..I had a very..off feeling like there was something more sinister going on.

He told me that in order to test my blood for a cure he needs his laptop but it was left by the pier by one of his colleagues. He asked me if I could go grab it and I agreed but his main concern was me going alone to which I assured him I’ll be fine, I got here by myself easily.

I then made my way to Santa Monica.

-Time skip-

I got to Santa Monica fine and made my way to the lifeguard HQ were hopefully the laptop still was with on of Reeds guys.

I had to kill 2 crushers and some walkers before jumping into a truck and onto broken stairs and into the Tower.

When I got in there was no one in there, so I radios the doc.

“Reed there is no one in here” I said

“Damn it that means bundy didn’t make it” he said

Looks like I had to go onto the pier to find it so with a quick goodbye I ran towards the pier which was actually very beautiful with the fair lights at night, and towards the Ferris wheel where I had to fight if a bunch of Z’s.

After they were dealt with I hopped onto the wheel and it started to move, I decided I could use this time to plan my next move before my vision went red for a second and I could hear laughter of a clown.

I look down and see a clown zombie crawling on the Ferris wheel and before I know it, the pendejo is stabbing me through the top of my coach.

He land next to me but I kick him off the ride and say “No climbing on..THE RIDE!”

As he fell on the ground he scurried away, my ride came to a stop.

“Jeez I have to get moving” I said to myself as I ran to pier.

Once I had made it to the broken pier I run toward were a bunch of dead CDC people lay, I spot the laptop.

“There we go, sorry friend I need this more than you do” I say and take the laptop and open it up and log in “now what’s the cdc not telling us”

Like what I felt and heard at the pier I look up and see the clown again before he jumps on me and I black out.

I wake up and hear squelching and see the clown eating the dead CDC guy and I mumble a “ew..gross”

I slowly and silently slide my hand towards the laptop “easy…” I then felt searing pain in my hand as the clown stab my hand.

“AHHHH” I scream letting out a bunch of curses in Spanish before I find myself fighting the thing off me

“Can’t die here..need to get back to (Y/N)” I say as I smash the clown with the laptop.

I engage in a battle with this thing dodging its hits because it could easily hurt and kill me with his knife hands.

I end up hitting it and critically hurting him before he scurried to a nearby body and feeds in it.

“Mierda it regenerates by eating the body” I say as I dodge a close hit.

I look at the broken part of the pier and I get an idea and I smile. “Ah of course”

I run towards the edge and let him run at me before I lodge my machete in his head and he stops moving briefly before he falls back and off the pier.

“ HA HA HA, last laugh is mine” I say

As I head back towards were the laptop was and picked it up and I let the doc know.

“ I have the laptop, in my way back” I said

“Ok but be careful we still need you” Reed said

I run back toward the front of the pier before I make my way back to ocean avenue.

-Back at Serling hotel-

I made my way back to the safe room and knocked on the door and long story short.. Konradt was there her and Rueben bickered a bit and I handed him back the laptop.

All I could think of right now was (Y/N).

Back to third person POV

You waited for Bruno to have some sort of communication with you guys. You hadn’t heard from him in a good day and a half.

Emma and Sam were seated with you in the couch when The radio went off and Emma picked it up.

“Hello did your doctor get you out?” Emma asked

“No the doctor was a sham but I know someone who can get us out, but we will need your talents” Bruno said.

“If you think I’m gonna fuck some creep” she said.

“No nothing like that” Bruno said

“Ok fine, I want to at least meet him but no promises” she said.

She looks at you and Sam “ well it looks like we are going, let’s get moving”

You and Sam geared up with weapons to use on the tidious journey there and you made your way to the sewers.

After awhile you make it to this underground area where Bruno told you to meet up with him.

“What’s up?”

You look up and see Bruno and he makes eye contact with you.

He smiles at you and knocks on the door “Hey Patton let me in, I got some friends I want you to meet”

The door opens and a man comes out and he immediately spots Emma and immediately freezes up.

You were all introduced and you found him to be alright for the most part, you felt bad that he went through what he did.

He led you all deeper into the sewers and showing you the way to get out.

You felt someone walk next to you and you look up and see Bruno giving you his smile that you love.

“Hey” he said

“Listen I’m sorry that I left, I was a dick to do so, I-“ he said but you shooshed him

“Bruno, it’s not your fault you did what you needed to, don’t doubt yourself” you say

“I know, I have something to tell you” he said

At this point the others are far ahead of you a bit so they couldn’t really hear you.

“What?” You say

“I-I care about you..a lot and I would die for you, what I’m saying is”

You look at him not believing what his saying until he grabs your hands in his.

“I-I love you (Y/N)” he says before crashing his lips to yours.

You take a second to process what happened and you close your eyes taking in this moment.

This kiss deepens and becomes more needy as Bruno places a hand on your neck and another on your waist while yours finds a place on his chest.

Bruno moans into the kiss and you smile.

You eventually hear someone clear their throat and break apart with a pop and see The other 3 staring you both.

“Yo you two we ain’t trying to witness you take of each others clothes, come one let’s get moving” Sam says.

He,Emma and Patton walk off leaving you and Bruno standing there both a blushing mess.

“I guess we better go, we can continue this later” Bruno said a hint of teasing in his voice.

You tap your fingers against your leg as you hum to a song in your head. You and your husband, Bruno were on the way to meet up with some friends in Las Vegas so we’re on the plane to go.

Bruno was looking out of the window and he turned to look at you with a smile.

“Hey amor, you excited to go to Vegas” he asked you

You nod your head vigorously “Yes of course, I have always wanted to go”

He chuckled and gave you a quick kiss on the lips before pulling away.

“Your going to love it”

The time ticked by as you sat there waiting for takeoff and when the plane did, you couldn’t help but bounce in excitement.

Bruno smiles at your kid like demeanour before saying “hey chill, your gonna lose all of your energy before we get there”

“I know but I’m just very excited”

You suddenly heard screams coming from behind you and see a guy biting into a girls neck and people were panicking around you.

The last thing you remember was the plane going down and Bruno holding you close before it all went black

-A little while later-

When you came to you tried to move but there was a struggle as you look and see a bit of debris from the crash on-top of your ankle

You push the debris off of you before you felt a tinge of pain causing you to groan through gritted teeth as a hand came into your eyesight.

You look around to find Bruno but nothing.

“Bruno” you called out with no response

“Hey you alright”

You look up and see a young male, at least mid 20s with dark eyes and dark hair with his hand extended for you to take.

You smile “yeah but my ankle hurts, and I’m missing my husband”

You take is hand as he hoists you up and sling your arms across is back as he carries you as you both walk.

“I promise we will find him once we get your ankle sorted out”

You nod your head as he continued to help and give you support carrying out of the plane and to a area where he could help you without having to worry about being in a plane that could explode within any second.

“You never told me your name” you say

“I’m Michael” he says

“Nice to meet you Michael, I’m (Y/N)” you reply

It was quiet for a good minute before you broke it by asking “where are you taking me”

“I’m taking you to my friends who are survivors as well, we will get you patched up and help you find your husband” he replied.

You both made it to the a safety door where Michael opened it and layed you against a piece of the plane that was still intact before the other survivors came over.

“What happened to him/her/them” a woman with brown hair and blue eyes said

“He/she/they got hurt by a price of debris and have said that his/her their ankle hurts” Michael replied to the woman.

She nodded understanding before looking at you “so…anyone else that you found”

Michael nodded his head “no but he/she/they said that his/her/their husband is missing, maybe there is a possibility their is someone else alive, we just need to find them”

Emma hummed and knelt down to you”what’s your name?”

“I’m (Y/N)” you said

“I’m Emma” she said

Your eyes widened as you realised that this was THE Emma Jaunt, right in front of you. You had seen quite a bit of her work.

“Wait…I recognise you, you were in ‘Omen to kill’ right” you asked

She became a little taken aback, it wasn’t you yourself that took her aback though, it was the fact that she was recognised, not a lot of people recognised her so you knowing who see was made her feel a little better about the situation you were all in now.

“Uh..oh yeah I was in that” she smiled a little breaking eye contact with you as she watched Michael bandage your leg.

“I knew it was you, I really like that movie, I watch it all the-well…I USED to watch it all the time” you say

“Oh I-thank you that’s very kind of you” she replied “Michael how is the ankle coming along”

“It’s not broken, it’s just bruised, lucky there isn’t really any damage” he said tying the bandage up and getting up.

You move your ankle a bit testing out the flexibility before smiling up at them “ thank you”

You look over and notice a guy who had blood coming out of his ears.

“Uhh..should we help him..” you said as Emma and Michael look at him

“Ah shit his bleeding” Emma said as she went over to him to help him out.

Michael looks at you “I’m going to use flares to signal other survivors of our whereabouts”

“That is pretty smart actually” you said

One flare went off and you waited but nothing. Another one went off before Emma chimed in.

“Will you stop firing those bloody flares” Emma hissed

“What did you say?” Michael asked because he hadn’t heard her

“I said will you stop firing those bloody-“ you then all heard a thud noise come from inside the plane.

“What was that?”

Michael literally yanked you to your feet away from the door and put you behind him.

The door then starts to open and lo and behold it is Bruno.

He put his hands up in defense “hey friend, I’m not one of them”

He makes eye contact with you and he freezes up his jaw lowering a little.

“(Y/N)?” he said

“Bruno?” You say back

“Mi amor” he says as he runs and tackles you in a hug as he kisses your temple.

You start to cry a little “Bruno..I..I thought you were gone, when I woke up I couldn’t see you”

He pulls back from the hug and cups your face in his hands.

“I know, I couldn’t see you either and I too also feared that you….” He stopped. You could hear he was about to cry just from the emotion in his voice alone.

“Hey, your not gonna lose me, I sure as hell won’t die one you” you say with a light laugh and smile.

Bruno chuckles “I love you”

“I love you too” you say and lean in to capture his lips in yours.

You’re interrupted by the groans and moans of the dead coming your way.

“Looks like the clocks ticking” Bruno said as he looks at everyone before looking back at you “I need you to go with them bebè, I promise I’ll meet up with you and please be careful with your ankle” he looks at your bandaged ankle

“You better come back to me boy” you say and laugh to which Bruno laughs and shakes his head.

Emma grabs you hand as her, Michael and your new friend run from the site.

The last thing you hear while running is “I LOVE YOU!”

You laugh

Fuck. That’s all you could think right now. How did you let this happen, you were very careful about this happening.

You threw your hands in your hair in frustration as you paced the bathroom floor.

Emma came in after hearing your frustrated shouts and offered some comfort.

“Hey what’s wrong?” She asked softly

“I’m Pregnant” you said tears falling down your face as you show her the test

She gasped at your words, she was shocked, and that was to be expected but then she pulled you into a hug which took you aback a bit. Nonetheless you hug back, in need of some support.

“What am I going to do Em?” You sob “what am I going to tell Bruno?”

She rubs your back and replies “I’m going to honest with you, I think you should tell him, I get that it may be nerve wracking knowing what he might say but don’t think about that and just say it. Haven’t you talked about having a family?”

You nod “well yes we have, we said sometime in future”

She lets go of you and smiles “see, you guys want a family, that’s the good thing isn’t it?”

You sniff as you wipe away a tear “yeah I guess”

She patted both of your arms “yep, just take my advice, and even if he distanced himself from you, you always have me here, and I’ll smack him upside the head”

You had just made it to the Serling Hotel and to the safe room and you were currently resting on one of the couches while Bruno was with the doc discussing important matters.

Your Room was very nice, some would even say luxurious, it was a bit better then your room back at Emma’s.

“Bruno..where are we?” You say as you sit up and look around.

You look down the street in front of you and see a huge mansion.

Walking down towards the mansion the feelings was ominous like there were secrets hidden beneath its facade.

The doors open and you’re surprised by how beautiful it is inside. Paintings lines the halls and one hung across from the doorway you walked in.

I awoke to the sunshine in my face as I slowly opened them rolling over to avoid going blind.

I sit up and let myself wake up for a bit before I remembered what the date was: it was my 18th birthday. I honestly lost track of the date since the apocalypse started.

I quickly got up and went into the bathroom and brush my teeth before going to pick out some clothes.

It was a bit too warm so I decided on a very cute dress that went down to my knees and it had flowers on it. I brush my hair and do one last through check through before I leave the room.

As I go to turn around I feel hands wrap around my waist.

“Happy birthday Mi amor” Bruno said as he kissed the top of my head

“Thank you baby” I said as I turn around and give him a quick kiss .

I grab his hand and lead him down the stairs and into the kitchen were Andrea, Emma and Sam were fixing up breakfast.

I smile “aw thanks guys” I walk over and hug them as others started coming in to get there fix of the delicious meal Andrea and Emma had cooked up.

It was a full English breakfast and it looked amazing and so delicious that it made my stomach hungry.

“Well look like I’m a lucky girl today, move so I can’t get my breakfast” I playfully push Bruno out of the way and he dramatically put his hand on his heart.

“Oh my heart, it looks like you don’t love me anymore” he said fake upset.

I rolled my eyes and laughed as I grab my food and sit down at the table with Bruno following suit. He sits across from me as we sat talking.

“So are you going out today or no?” I ask my boyfriend as he stuffs his face with bacon.

“Yo B chill with the bacon I don’t want you to choke” I said as he looks up at me and doesn’t say a word.

After a minute he goes back to his food but more slowly this time and I laugh.

“You remind me of a really hungry pregnant woman” I laugh because he really did.

Bruno stops eating and slowly looks up and locks eyes with me and says “are you calling me fat?”

I burst out in laughter not because of what he said because he wasn’t, but because it was the way he was looking at me still, with his eyes trained on me and not moving a muscle as he stared me down.

“I’m sorry babe I-“ I continued to laugh.

After a good minute I stop and a regain my breath before talking.

“You’re not fat B, I’m sorry for laughing I couldn’t help it”

He smiles “nah don’t worry about it, I love you anyway”

“But you didn’t answer my earlier question” I said

“No, doc wanted me to do something but I told him I would do it another because it was your birthday and I don’t want to miss it” he said

I smile as we continue to eat. After we finished we put our plates in the sink and I head up to me and Bruno’s shared room and put on a movie.

Halfway through one of my movies,I realised I hadn’t seen Bruno for a few hours and so I pause the movie and head downstairs.

I looked in every room and couldn’t find him. Maybe he changed his mind and went out.

Emma walked by me and I think she knew what I was doing because she said “Hey Mak we are about to do presents”

“Oh well I’m coming” I said and I follow her to the living room.

When I get in there I see everyone including Bruno who sends me a very loving smile.

“Open mine first” Emma said as she handed me the wrapped item.

I unwrap it and it’s a very expensive necklace with my initials on it.

“Aww thanks Em” I hug her

“Your welcome” she said “anything for my bestie”

Next was Sam and he gifted me a CD and music player he found.

As I continued to get nice presents from everyone else with cards, It was finally Bruno’s turn to give me his gift.

“ Bruno, are you going to give Makayla her gift” Emma said with a smirk.

“Uh yes I am…”he said as he handed me a tiny gift and i unwrapped.

But before I could see what it was Bruno took it off me

“Makayla, we have been together for a little while and I’m very thankful that I met you. We have definitely had our ups and downs but we have overcome them together.”

I start to cry and Bruno smiles with tears in his eyes too as he wipes my tears.

“I love you with my whole being and I’ll be damned if I don’t do it so”

He gets down on one knee as he opens the box up to a beautiful ring.

“Makayla, Will you marry me?” He said voice shakey

I nod my head and laugh through tears “Yes of course I will Bruno”

He smiles and gets up gently sliding the ring on my finger and pulls me into a kiss.

Cheers erupted around us and Emma even shouted “Yay for Brayla”

“What’s Brayla?” Sam asked confused

“It’s their ship..well their couple name, it their names merged into one” she explained and he understood quickly.

“I love you” Bruno said sad hugging me close

“I love you too Bruno” I replied back

“Happy birthday mi amor” he said

Plot: Based on the line “I gotta go” just after Michael turns and dies. Reader is sad and heartbroken when Bruno goes. (Reader is like a sibling to Michael and Emma)

You leaned against the wall waiting for Michael to return from whatever he was doing at monarch studios, Emma had gotten a radio transmission from Bruno telling her that Mikey was in his way back.

You were relieved to say the least, Michael had been your friend for awhile and you cared about him deeply like a brother, like how you cared about Emma like a sister.

And Bruno, the moment you met him at the crash you were instantly attracted to him, not for his looks (even though he was exceptionally handsome) but because he was so sweet, he was nothing like what his appearance suggested.

He looked at you like no one else did. His looks were more of a deep admiration and love more than those of what you had with Michael and Emma.

You swear you saw him check you out at the crash and smirk..god knows what he was thinking in his head at that point.

At least Michael was safe that’s all that mattered for now. Or at least until he walked in the door.

You noticed a gash in his side and gasped. He had been bitten on his way back.

“I’m fine guys” Michael chuckled dryly and tiredly as he was leaned against the bench as you, Emma and Sam try to figure out what to do.

Bruno then bursts into the gym before saying “oh no..”

“Damn man..how long you been bit for” Sam says authoritatively.

Michael goes to answer but collapses a little before Emma helps him.

“ Shit we got to deal with this now” he said as he point the gun at Michael’s head

“Don’t you touch him, go check on Andrea and see if she’s ok” Emma says making Sam lower the gun.

“This ain’t no game Emma” Sam said

After another moment Sam walk up to Bruno and shoves the gun in his hands.

“If he so much as twitches..you know what to do” Sam says as he exits the gym.

Bruno stays silent and looks at you with a small smile as you knelt down to Michael.

“Hey Mikey, you know I will always love you right” you said tears well up in your eyes

He chuckled “of course, I always saw you as the sister I never had, you were always kind to me (Y/N/N)”

You smile through tears that had fallen down your cheek and you wiped them away.

He turns to Emma “and the Romero goes to..” he trailed off as he held up Emma’s award.

“Oh..my lucky charm…this is why you left” she said as she looked back at Michael.

“I have special blood…I know I can feel it” he started and Emma has tears falling down her face as she smiles

“Yes. You do have special blood” she said as Michael looked at you both for the last time before taking his last breath.

Bruno grabs your hand and leads you out of the room “you won’t want to see this Precioso”.

You kiss his cheek and he freezes for a moment before he closes the door and you walk back to we’re Andrea was standing.

She grabbed your hand and rubbed it comforting you as you try not to burst out crying. She had always been like a grandmother to you

You could hear Emma screaming and then. Bruno comes walking out and goes to the front door.

Your breath hitches in your throat and you think you’re about to cry when Andrea speaks up.

“Emma and (Y/N) can’t do this…don’t go” she pleads and you look at him hoping he listens to her.

“I can’t-“ he said and your heart drops to your stomach.

“I got people waiting on me” he continued.

You start to cry now and Bruno looks at you with tears in his eyes.

“I-I gotta go” and with that he leaves and you cry and Andrea hugs you as she leads you to the kitchen.

“Now now mi hijo, let’s make you your favourite food, hopefully that cheers you up”.

You smile despite the pain in your heart that seemed to weight heavy.

As Bruno left the house he couldn’t help but look back at the house thinking of you.

You couldn’t see it but he had tears streaming down his face at the thought of not seeing you again, he loved you and his heart felt a pain he never felt before.

He drew a shakey breath as he continued on his journey. If it is the last thing he does…he would never let you go.

The music was loud and the drinks were flowing at the blue crab as you and the slayers along with Trent,Kai and Alex settled into convo.

You forgot about the dangers outside as you enjoyed yourself celebrating going into the new year.

You saw any and Ryan snuggled with Amy making you smirk and Ryan just glared at you and rolled his eyes playfully.

Sitting across from them you talk to them about your New Year’s resolutions and such.

Bruno looks over at you and smiles and feels his face flush, all just by looking at you and he rubs his neck a faint tint on his cheeks.

He decided to go over and sit next to you and you look over and smile at him causing his heart to think faster.
