I always wonder how gym leaders - or other trainers who specialise in one specific pokemon type - choose their preferred type. Is it just a feeling, like they’re drawn to it? Battle strategy? Are there specific memories or affections with that type? I guess it could be different for every one, which is what makes it so interesting… ( •̀ - •́ )
