While Bruno didn’t have kids of his own, he was a family person through and through. Considering how much he adored his nephews and nieces, he could only imagine what the love of a father must have felt like. “You’re a good dad. Best you can do! Life’s hard and unfortunately you can’t protect her from everything. They need to learn how to manage and deal with negative situations and feelings too but you’re doing the right thing trying to protect her as much as you can. Life’s hard enough.” He agreed with Oscar whilst following him inside.
“That’s good to hear. Beer is more than fine, don’t worry. You won’t find more than water, beer and some juice in my fridge either.” He chuckled with a slight shake of his head. “Seems like we’re both easily pleased when it comes to drinks.” Bruno joked, a joyful chuckle falling from his lips.
Bruno was right. Maja was his everything, and coming home to her was always his reason for fighting. Without her, he may well have given up a long time ago. "Yeah. She's a good kid, but she's already seen so much pain in her life. She doesn't need more of it. I have to protect her from whatever I can." Oscar sighed softly, nodding his head as he moved through the house.
"Thanks, man. I think I'm ok, at least right now... Can I grab you a drink or anything? Don't have too much in right now, but I've got some beers?"

Born and raised into the organization, Bruno didn’t know any different. What would have shocked any other was normality to him. Pain, both physical and mental were part of his daily life in every possible sense one could imagine. He’d seen and been through a lot of stuff he wouldn’t wish upon anyone - and has done even worse himself. It sucked to be on the other side of the deal to say the least. But no matter what, the family was to be protected and absolutely nothing would make him talk or blow his cover. He was no snitch. And he had a job to do. While the operation didn’t turn out as planned, at least even the most skeptical agents stopped doubting him and thus he could continue his mission; the infiltration could continue.
Nearly three months passed since the drastic events and he figured he’d check up on Oscar since he hadn’t heard anything from him since. Knocking at the front door, he waited patiently, casually leaning against the frame and offering a friendly smile once it opened. “Hey. I’m plodding along. How about you? How have you been holding up? “
Open: any (m 40+ if potential ship) Connection: fellow CIA agent, or another similar agency - our muses were held captive together and tortured for a prolonged period, now they are back to their lives but they can't quite move past what happened and only have one another to confide in Muse: Oscar Lind. 36-42. CIA Agent.
Oscar sat in silence at the dining table, nursing his barely touched glass of whisky as he stared into space. He hadn't been the same since he got back and he knew it. It was why he had sent Maja to spent a week with his brother just to ensure that she didn't see him this broken. He was a father first, but right now, he was incapable of being what she needed. Two and a half months... It was a long time to have been where they were, to endue what they had endured. So when he heard the knock on his front door, he didn't have to see them to know who it was.
Opening the door, Oscar offered them a small ghost of a smile and stepped back to allow them entry. "Hey.... How are you doing?"

Always observant, Bruno noticed how quick Oscar was to lock the door behind his back and he couldn’t blame him for being a little paranoid after what they’d endured recently. Had he not been used to and trained for situations like that, he would have probably done the same but that was something he couldn’t let on to keep his cover intact.
Sighing heavily, he nodded, doing his best to appear affected by the others words. “Understandable. It’s not easy to move on from something like this. But at least you have something worth fighting for.” He tried to cheer him up a little, referring to his kid. “Probably for the best. It would scare her and she doesn’t need that. Take care of yourself first. “ He knew better than anyone, the deepest scars were never the ones one could see with their eyes but the ones gaping inside one’s soul. Those were the ones that usually lasted a lifetime. “If you need anything or if there’s anything I can do for you, let me know.”
Cont. from @muse-legion || Oscar and Bruno (x)
Oscar paused at the question, closing the door behind Bruno once he had entered and flicking the lock. It had been mostly habit before their ordeal, but now that he found himself not sleeping at night, he took extra precautions. Slipping his hands into the pockets of his jeans, he gave a small shrug at the question. Did he even know how he was doing?
"I've been better." he replied, glancing over to the younger man, before sighing. "Sent my daughter to her uncles for a bit. Can't let her see me like this, it'll just scare her." The physical signs of their pain were healing, but the mental ones... Those were the ones that would cause more grief. More nightmares.
