Brugada syndrome is a disease that causes an abnormal heart rhythm in the heart's lower chambers. This irregular heartbeat can cause fainting and lead to sudden cardiac death (SCD).

Brugada syndrome is a rare genetic disease. Brugada syndrome is more common in males than females. In fact, men are 8 to 10 times more likely than women to have the condition.
