favorite female character: Okay, okay, okay, if we do ooonly go by Redemption, I would go with Breanna - I gotta say, I do think that Parker doesn't get as much spotlight and most of her most Parker moments are in the OG series and Breanna is a wonderful character, I adore her, she's a great addition to the cast

But like...Danny and Eliot are cook loving and stylish hair bros tho. 

I was gonna say something like ‘God have mercy on the poor soul that tries to rob the place when Danny’s also visiting’ but that just kinda grew into a whole fucking scene! 

This is all in a verse where Danny’s friends with the Leverage crew. Maybe they met in “Boys Night Out Job’ as one of the people that Bonanno invites cos maybe it’s during one of Danny’s visits to the mainland. (I know my geography might be off but let’s just go with it)

So Danny keeps in touch with the boys, and then later meets the gals, and they all become close. Toast might have been an online friend of Hardison and they met IRL thanks to Danny. (Danny flies Hardison out for the service when he dies :/ ), Hardison is always keeping tabs on Danny and even though they have to keep their distance it’s sometimes thanks to the Leverage team that Danny’s come home from some of the worst cases or kidnappings. Or they’re the ones he asks for help when Steve gets into too much trouble but there’s too much government or military tape that’s not letting Danny though. 

And this goes on through the years. Finally, when Steve and Danny get together, Danny wants to introduce them properly and flies Steve out to Eliot’s restaurant, he’s cooking and trying out a new seasonal menu. Danny and Steve get a private table before opening hours. Steve gets to know the crew. The crew gives Steve the 4th degree. Steve’s...a little scared of Parker the most. He also knows the power in Nathan and though he should be scared he’s mostly relieved knowing that if the worst ever happens, Danny at least has people on and off the island that’ll take care of him. 

They lounge around even after their excellent meal. Danny listens to Eliot's plan for their seasonal menu and what things he expects to get this season.  People start pouring in, not too many but enough for it to be considered a ‘crowd’. 

Someone then pulls out a gun and demands for the cash in the register. The Leverage crew and Danny just stare at the guy. Steve’s a bit more alert, already doing the math in his head and how to best disarm the guy. Eliot continues to tell Danny his new ideas for the food that’ll hopefully compliment whatever brewery mess Hardison is working on. The gunman is insulted and getting mad, another one pops up, who had been pretending to be a guest. 

Without stopping his prep, Eliot reaches over and punches the guy out effectively while Danny grabs the gun and removes the clip and the bullet from the chamber. 

The other guy is taken out by Steve who was closer. 

Parker comes in with a big smirk and her tazer. “God, I love tazing people!” (She’d come back from tazing the get-away driver)

do I like them: I've gone back and forth on this over the years, but I'm going to say yeah, yeah I do. S5 contributes A LOT to this as do multiple rewatches of the series (I did like...four in 2021 in the span of 3 months...it was kind of wild). Also personally healing my own relationship with my father (who was already passed when the og series premiered) helped with this a lot.

5 good qualities: smart, focused, really good at long-term planning, sees the big picture, protective of his loved ones

favourite episode/etc: I'm torn between what I feel is maybe the obvious answer (The Cross My Heart Job, "I didn't kill you. God killed you. I just made sure it took.") and the episode that has surprisingly popped up in my head for this prompt which is The Inside Job. I know that's a Parker episode, but like the dad stand off on the roof with Archie? "You're going in after her?" "Always was." ENDS ME.

otp: Sophie/Nate. I was what, 15 when this show came on? Since I was 15. HALF MY LIFE NEARLY.

brotp: Nate & Parker. I highly suggest doing a watchthrough with eyes only for the Nate & Parker dynamic. It is fantastic.

ot3: Hmm...see, again, I feel like the obvious answer here is Sophie/Nate/Sterling, which piques my interest, but I don't feel it the way I necessarily feel, like, Sophie/Nate and then Sophie with occasional secondary partners. (And for those of you who were not around this weekend to witness my quick and graceless descent into one such situation, here you go. One iteration of how that might have worked out.)

notp: I feel like the relationships on this show are so well laid-out without becoming uninteresting that this is actually hard because a lot of notps were explicitly not really made possibilities in the first place. Nate/Eliot maybe???

Honestly I really cannot stress how this dude is an extreme version of everyone at the American church/Catholic school I grew up at. Which is not to say I like it, but he's perhaps the most compelling exploration of the well-meaning yet self-righteous white man Catholic mentality that's graced my screen since Jed Bartlet.

head canon: Ok I'm going to do a combined one for Nate and Sophie since I'm doing Sophie next.

Omg I have so many mini ones, especially during that happy period when he's retired. But hmm, a lot of times when I think about retired Nate, I think about that Bob's Burgers Mother's Day episode where Lin gets into a series of unfortunate events and gets separated from her family. Bob takes the kids to look for her, and while they're looking, he takes suggestions from the kids about where she could be and learns about secret little rituals she has with each of them that Bob doesn't know about.

And I kind of like that dynamic for both Nate and Sophie. So like when Eliot, Hardison, and Parker come to visit, they don't always show up together, and they have little things that are just theirs. Like Nate and Eliot have their book club that they're both very serious about, Nate and Hardison have their long distance chess game that Hardison keeps up on a computer and Nate has open in a room in the back, and Nate and Parker are surprisingly adept at model ship building together.

Sophie gets better at boundaries over the years but is also a huge snoop. She finds out and gets a little weepy tbh.

And then the Sophie version of this is: Sophie & Eliot's side winery business which is propping up a way larger portion of the US economy than you'd think, Sophie & Hardison going out for elaborate theater/musical/concert/museum gala dates (he hacks them Hamilton tickets, front row, and looks over at her very enthusiastically at "Immigrants / we get the job done"), and Sophie & Parker stealing but also frequenting cult film things like Rocky Horror and The Room.

do I like them: Yeah, she's probably the fictional love of my life

5 good qualities: brilliant teacher (which I think she never would have discovered had she not met the crew), empathetic, appreciative of art (physical or other people's skillsets), also something about how she believes in very little and yet still pursues some level of moral right, also this is interesting because I have "selfish" down below but she's incredibly generous with both her heart and when it comes to teaching people and skills she admires

3 bad qualities: manipulative, selfish, turns deflecting into an art form tbh

favourite episode/etc: Everything is so hard with this show lol. I’m still going to say The Corkscrew Job because I love love that scene where she sells Madigan the exact same wine. It’s 100% just Sophie doing what she does best. But also The King George Job has that scene with her talking about her art skills and it’s absolute gilded perfection every time.

I listed about 5 others but I’m exercising self control and stopping at those two.

otp: Sophie/Nate, though I talked myself into Tara as a long-term secondary partner so thoroughly this week that I'm honestly struggling to function a little. I'm not opposed to Sophie/Harry either. Sophie/Grifting? Sophie/being alright and comfortable with herself.

brotp: Sophie & Hardison (though I need to heavily heavily emphasize how much I love Sophie & Parker)

ot3: Sophie/Tara/Maggie would be like super super cute down the road, I think!

Brotp: Stevie & David are basically platonic soulmates and I love them so much

Sexuality headcanon: I don’t feel like Parker would necessarily define her sexuality, but I think it’s very possible she’s somewhere on the asexual spectrum.

Favorite ship(s): Parker/Hardison/Eliot, one of my only ot3s and such an amazing ship.

Brotp: Parker & Sophie, I love their friendship. They’re very different people but they learn from each other and respect each other so much and it’s a delight to watch.

Notp: I don’t think there’s an in-canon obvious potential ship for Parker that I hate, because honestly there’s not many potential in-canon ships for Parker lol.

A random headcanon: Parker has a sweet tooth, and she manages to get Eliot to make her homemade donuts with unique flavors or ingredients as a test to his chef skills (he would’ve made them for her anyway, but she knows how much he loves a cooking challenge).

General opinion: She’s truly the best and deserves the world, and I can’t wait to see her leading the team in the reboot.

Sexuality headcanon: Bi with a preference for men

Favorite ship(s): Chloe/Lucifer, whom I adore.

Brotp: Chloe & Ella. I love the way their friendship has grown over the seasons after Ella joined the team, and 5A had some especially good moments for them.

Notp: Chloe/Dan, I guess? He didn’t treat her well while they were together and she deserves much better.

A random headcanon: Every so often when Chloe misses her dad a lot, she’ll put on a record that was one of his favorites and just sit there and listen for a while.

Okay, here it goes.

Eliot:

Favorite thing about them: Wow, this is so hard because I’m just in love with Eliot Spencer lol. If I have to choose, I think I’d say that my favorite thing about Eliot is that he would do literally anything for the people he loves and seems to genuinely expect nothing in return. I think it’s common in the fandom for Eliot to be considered the group’s protector, and while it’s more than that, he definitely is. And the safety and happiness of his loved ones is the only reward he seems to desire for doing so.

Least favorite thing about them: The flip side of that is that it’s always seemed to me that Eliot thinks he deserves less than everyone else in the group. He makes due with lurking just outside the group, watching over them (at least at first), and doesn’t expect them to fulfill his needs. The problem with that is that he sometimes fails to see how much they need him, for more than just his skills.

Favorite line: For the feels, it’s “Till my dying day.” Gets me every time. For humor, it’s, of course, every single “Dammit Hardison!”

BrOTP: Maybe this is weird, but Eliot and Sophie. The two of them have always had a really interesting relationship to me because they didn’t seem to get each other at first and there was tension between the two of them for a while, but they developed an understanding over the series. Their scenes together were always great.

OTP: The OT3, baby. Eliot, Hardison, and Parker are in love.

nOTP: Nothing specific, just any ship that gets in the way of the OT3 lol.

Random headcanon: That he’s bi 💖 Not just because of Hardison, he has great chemistry with a lot of guys in the show!

Unpopular opinion: Huh, that’s a tough one. Maybe just that I won’t be upset if the OT3’s not officially canon in the new series. Like I would love it, but I would really understand if that’s not part of the vision they have for it (and I know the subtext will be there regardless).

Song I associate with them: Christian Kane’s very own “Different Kind of Knight.”

Favorite picture of them: His look in the French Connection Job is one of my faves.

Okay, now Spike!

Favorite thing about them: Again, so tough. This might sound odd, but I love his vulnerability. I love that it’s been a decade since he was a shy, lovesick poet, and yet no matter how hard he tries to turn his persona in the complete opposite direction, he still can’t help how much his feelings show. At times it gets him in trouble, but I think it’s also why he’s able to connect to humans in the show pre-soul, in a way most vampires never could.

Least favorite thing about them: At times he lets his feelings have far too much free reign (this is both pre- and post-soul imo). At his best, his perceptiveness allows him to see someone hurting and know the right thing to say. At his worst, his big emotions sometimes bulldoze over other people’s.

Favorite line: For the feels, it’s “I made a promise to a lady.” For humor, it’s literally every line lol, I can’t choose.

BrOTP: This is a tough one because Spike makes a great BrOTP with so many people. I’m gonna cheat and pick two. I love Spike and Willow together. We don’t get a ton of it, but it’s always amusing when we do. She seems to feel bad for him even when he’s doing bad things (like when he kidnaps her in Lovers Walk or tries to bite her unsuccessfully in The Initiative) and he always seems to kinda like her even though he claims to hate the Scoobies.

I also love Spike with Dawn. It makes perfect sense that she’s always trying to tag along after him. She says herself that he’s the only one who talks to her likes she’s not a kid, and I think what she’s picking up on is that Spike, as an outsider, doesn’t have the same interests or concerns as the Scoobies. I think it’s the same reason she loves Tara so much, albeit a very different relationship lol.

OTP: Spuffy, of course (though as I’ve said, I will always love Sprusilla too).

nOTP: I don’t really have an answer for this. It’s been said a lot that Spike is shippable with pretty much anyone, and I tend to agree. The only thing I wouldn’t ship is something inappropriate, like him and Dawn, but I’ve rarely seen that shipped anyway.

Random headcanon: I didn’t come up with this because I’ve been seeing variations of it for a long time, but that Spike is really good at doing makeup and nails and has done both Drusilla’s and Buffy’s in their respective relationships.

Unpopular opinion: That he’s not superior to Angel because he fought to get his soul back and Angel didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I love him for that. Like, it’s AMAZING that he was able to do it. But it doesn’t seem to me that people choose how far gone they are once they lose their soul.

Song I associate with them: “I Wanna Be Sedated” by The Ramones, naturally.
