════════════════
Your relationship with Jake wasn’t perfect, although to the eye of many that wasn’t obvious. You seemed utterly head over heels, and whilst that was the truth you, like any other couple had problems. But to the extent was not normal, most couples talk it out, that’s never been your method. The problem was Jake’s friendliness, before you got together you loved that about him, it was after all how you got together. You loved how he would talk to everyone, you loved how he made people laugh, but now that you sit in a crowded restaurant gritting your teeth watching your boyfriend make the waitress laugh, he told a joke, a joke first told to you, your gaze was fixated on him, the crease by his eyes as he laughed, the nod of his head as she spoke, but worst of all the prolonged eye contact they held and how her eyes glistened as they done so.
Swiftly you finished your wine, you cleared your throat and the waitress turned to you. You nodded your head to the empty glass, right away she excused herself with the glass to get you another.
“She’s lovely,” you grinned, the sarcasm seeping through your words.
“It’s the Peralta charm, she couldn’t help laugh at my joke,” Jake teased, resuming his meal. You near scoffed at the audacity of him, deep down you knew he was being harmless- a mere joke, but you couldn’t help the insecurity inside of you get the better of your mind. You and Jake have been together for two years, the longest you’ve both been with someone, your biggest fear is that Jake will get bored of you, so interactions like this had your mind running wild- reaching to the worst possible scenarios.
For the rest of your meal you were barely listening to Jake enthuse about his week at work, he talked about his perps, his drug busts and the banter within the precinct. Instead you were in your head, imagining the end of your relationship, more specifically Jake leaving you for someone much prettier and funnier. He’s never not been loyal, he’s never given you an reason to feel this way, yet you couldn’t help it. You couldn’t turn off your self sabotaging mind and that was a slow undeniable killer.
“Are you okay?” Jake said, snapping you back to reality, concern written over his face, his eyes gentle and comforting.
“I’m fine.” You replied. “Just tired.” You couldn’t shake the coldness of your words. Jake reached over the table to grab your hand, you sighed and moved your hand away, feeling too indifferent to talk about it. You could see the disappointment building in his eyes.
“Let’s go then.” Jake said as he stood up grabbing his jacket and pushing his chair in, you paid the bill and got into his car.
A deafening silence fell over you both for the first few minutes of the car ride, you didn’t know what to say, you were worried that if you started to talk you would end up fighting. The car stopped at the red light, you found your eyes wondering over to Jake, one hand on the wheel the other tapping on the dashboard as he starred out the window, his eyebrows were knitted together in a frustrated manner and his body was tense. He glanced at you and instantly your eyes hardened.
“What did I do to upset you this much?” Jake asked, his voice firm.
“Nothing.” You mumbled looking down at your lap.
“Then why are you acting like this? I don’t understand the night started great now you’re distant. Do you not like me anymore or something?”
The emotion in his voice had you heart aching, you couldn’t understand why your mind done this to you, from a rational perspective the interaction was harmless- maybe enough for you to sulk over, but not to this extent and you knew that. You nervously picked at you nails as you replied.
“Of course I do Jake- you know I love you. But it’s just..” you sighed, “I don’t know.”
He turned to look at you now, “just what?”
“You’re too friendly! That’s the problem.”
“Too friendly? What does that even mean?!” He laughed, you looked at him and instantly filled with rage.
“Don’t be stupid Jake. Don’t do that, you were flirting with that fucking waitress.”
The light went green and Jake drove again, his eyes were focused on the road as he spoke. “Flirting? Seriously. This again.” He sighed, “I’m not flirting with anyone.”
“Oh,” you scoffed, “it’s so fucking obvious! The fuck me eyes she was sending you, you’re not blind Jake anyone could have sensed it.”
“You’re seeing things. Seriously, tell me why would I do that?”
“That’s what I’m asking you!!”
“Maybe for once it’s not me, it’s you. You are the one causing the problem here not me.”
“As I recall you were the one flirting!” You fumed.
“Flirting or simply talking? Should I just stay away from all woman from now on?”
“You’re infuriating right now. Just fucking apologise.”
“For what?!” Jake raised his voice, “I didn’t do anything. I made me waitress laugh, you’re acting as if I asked for her number.”
“Wouldn’t be surprised if you did.” You muttered.
“Really? You think I’d cheat on you.” Jake said as he parked the car outside his apartment complex.
You got out of the car slamming the door after you and Jake followed behind you. “Well would you?”
He punched in the code to open the complex door, you stood with your arms crossed walking with him. “What kind of question is that? Obviously not.”
You pressed the elevator button and stood beside him, arms crossed again and your body stiff with anger. “That’s not what I picked up on looking at you and that woman.”
“Y/N. I did not flirt with her. Get that idea out of your head.” Jake groaned, clearly becoming increasingly frustrated with you.
“Well maybe I wouldn’t have that idea if you weren’t so fucking friendly!” You practically shouted. Your face flushed red with embarrassment as a couple walked out of the elevator, by the looks of your face you could tell they heard everything. The man gave Jake a sympathetic look which made you roll your eyes, his girlfriend elbowed him in response to that.
Jake walked into the elevator, you followed and pressed the floor number. “I don’t want to have this stupid conversation anymore. I didn’t flirt with her! And I’m not too friendly, there’s no such thing.”
“Oh yes there is. You are a prime example,” you scoffed as the elevator doors closed.
“You want to know what’s exhausting? This. I’m sick of you being so insecure.”
“Then break up with me.”
“What? No. Are you insane?”
“Go on. Do it. I know you want to, do it Jake break up with me.”
“I’d be crazy to break up with you.” Jake moved closer to you.
“I think you want to.” You starred into his eyes, deep down you’d be distraught if he broke up with you. But the thrill of keeping him on his toes outweighed that.
He grabbed your arm pull you closer to him. “Don’t say anything like that again. Ever.”
Your face flushed hearing him being so assertive, when Jake got this way you could swoon. You smirked and looked up at him. “Why? Does it bother you?”
“Everything you’re doing right now is bothering me,” he got even closer to you, your chest was pushed up against his front. “Trying to scare me off?”
“Is it working?” Your voice was barely above a whisper, you could feel Jake’s breath on your face, furthering the heat rising to your face.
“No.” Jake responded. He pushed you against the elevator mirror, your back hitting the rail. His hands firmly gripped your hips, sure enough to leave a bruise, your breath quickened as he lowered his head and smashed his lips to yours.
You got caught up in an intense moment, your hands went to his hair, pulling him closer as your leg rose to wrap around his waist. You were pushed right up against the mirror as you shared a hungry make out, his tongue fought and won dominance as it explored your mouth. One of his hands moved from your waist and hiked up your thigh and skirt. His finger edged to your panties, and started to slowly circle your clit. You gasped at the sudden pleasure, breaking the kiss. Jake kissed your neck however quickly stopped and moved away once the elevator door opened. You tried to fix yourself up and walk normally to his door, you impatiently waited as Jake opened the door, you could’ve swore he was being slow to tempt you. You walked in first, wasting no time you grabbed his tie, a rare thing to see Jake in and pulled him to you.
His hands met your waist, he smirked. “Eager?”
“Shut up.” You replied.
As you kiss Jake backs you into his room, pulling down your top to reveal your bra and down onto his bed. Using his tie again you pull him on top of you, you remove his tie and make a start at unbuttoning his shirt. His lips meet your neck as he marks you, his hand travels down your body resting in between your legs, he moved your underwear aside and shoves two fingers inside of you. You cry out at the abrupt movement but quickly it turns to an override of pleasure, Jake moves from your neck and watches your face as he roughly fucks you with his fingers, curling them to hit that perfect spot, as if that wasn’t enough he circles his thumb on your clit. The pleasure making your legs shake and vision blur, the sounds coming from your mouth were incoherent, your whole body was trembling in pleasure. The pleasure continuing to build you knew you were close, you felt yourself ignite and be overcome with pleasure but just as you were about to finish he pulled his fingers out.
“Jake-” you whined but was quickly stopped by his fingers going into your mouth. You sucked his fingers, you couldn’t help but heat up at the taste of yourself on his finger. Jake removed his fingers and kissed you hungrily, his hand moving to your breast and rolling your nipple in between his finger over your lacy bra. You pull his shirt off and break the kiss, to mark his collarbone.
“Marking territory?” Jake teased as his hand slipped under your and effortlessly undone your bra. As you pulled your head back he removed your top and bra.
“Seems as if I have to.” You scoffed, Jake grabbed your jaw.
“As I’ve said before I’d never cheat on you.”
You rolled your eyes in response, he let go of your jaw and moved to your ear. “We’re not leaving this bed until you realise it.”
His voice was enough to make you squeeze your thighs together but the words spoken had you stifling a moan. Jake kissed down your neck, you arched your back pushing your body up onto him, desperate for pleasure. You grab his hand and bring it in between your thighs, hoping for pleasure from him.
“What do you want?” Jake asks, his eyes bearing into yours.
“You.” You responded, biting your lip. You could see it in his eyes, he was tempted to take you right there but resisted, much to your dismay.
“Be more specific,” he slowly moved his finger to brush against your clit, you hissed at the sensation.
“I want you to make me cum with your fingers. Then,” you moved your hand into his hair, tugging. “I want you to fuck me.”
“So demanding. Not even a please?”
“Are you going to or not?” You raised an eyebrow, Jake smirked and inserted two fingers into you.
You senses once again filled with pleasure from Jake roughly moving his fingers, you moaned his name feeling the pleasure override you. Your legs trembled as using his thumb he rubbed your clit. A continuous thread of moans left your mouth as you came undone, you vision whitened as you released, your body going into a state of utter bliss. Jake removed his fingers and took your skirt off, your hands made quick work of removing his belt and trousers. You watched eagerly as his cock sprung out with the removal of his boxers.
You moved your hand down to slowly stroke him, he softly groaned in response. You then wrapped your legs around his waist and gripped his shoulders as he slid into you, your eyes rolled back in pleasure as you adjusted to him. Right away Jake began to pound into you, one of his hands held your thigh as the other gripped the headboard making him completely tower over you, you watched his face contorted in pleasure. The room filled with the sound of your bodies joining together and your lustful moans, you knew trying to conceal them wouldn’t work, so you let it happen, not that anyone would complain Jake loved the sound of your moans. Jake fucked you like he’s never done before you wouldnt’ve been surprised if your bodies left a permanent dent into the mattress, that was only furthered when he moved your legs to rest over his shoulders allowing him to go deeper. Your mind became numb with pleasure, the only thing you could focus on was the immense pressure between your thighs.
Jake pushed your chin up to look at him, your eyes were pricking with tears as you got closure to release. “Believe me now?”
“Not quite.” You moaned.
This only fuelled Jake more to the point where the bed was slamming against the wall and tears of pleasure were streaming down your face, you felt the pleasure override you.
“So close.” You moaned.
“Cum for me,” Jake said, his voice dripping with pleasure, that itself sent you over edge.
The euphoric sensation washed over you yet again, your vision blurred as your entire body shook, never had you felt this way before. Jake continued, cashing his own release as you slowly came down from that high, however it wasn’t long until you felt it building up again. Jakes movements got strained as he got closer, again you came and white hot pleasure overcame you. Jake came inside you, moaning into your ear. Slowly he pulled out and lay beside you. You both starred at the ceiling, catching your breath. He turned to you and tucked your hair behind your ear, you couldn’t help the smile that creeped onto your face as you turned to face him too.
“Believe me now?” Jake teased, stroking your cheek.
“I always did I was just in my head, totally worth it though,”
“Totally worth it though; title of your sex tape.”
“Jake.” You rolled your eyes, playfully shoving him.

hii, idk if youre taking requests, but are you able to write a rosa diaz x reader fic? idm plot :)
“Hey, I thought I might find you in here” you hear the voice of your best friend call. You look up and give a weak smile. Knowing that she’ll be able to tell that somethings wrong from a mile away, she always could. She slides down the wall and sits next to you and you immediately lean your head on her shoulder. The normally badass woman was a total softie when it came to her best friend, knowing that you needed comfort as your protection over anything else. She didn’t need you to explain, she just needed to know that you were safe and in her presence you were safer than anywhere else in the world.
“He left me Rosa, he decided that the job in Ohio was better than staying here and being with me” you say and she sighs. You feel a kiss placed on the top of your head before she whispers
“I’m sorry you're hurting my sweet girl, but I’ll be here through it all” she says and you nod.

This is mostly an Avatrice blog rn, but I also love other wlw pairings and I think I’m just gonna put all my fandom content here. Finished a quick Brooklyn 99 Rosa x Amy fic today because I’ve been rewatching it and the potential for these two has been giving me brainworms and they deserve more content on AO3, so I wrote some.
It turned out fluffier than I expected but I’m not mad about it. Read it here:
What I Know
It started as a thought exercise. What better way to stay sharp and hone her detective skills than to set out to learn about someone who’s more committed to keeping her secrets than anyone else Amy’s ever met?
So five years ago, she had decided to quietly see what she could learn about one Rosa Diaz.
OR
Four times Amy learns something new about Rosa, and one thing Rosa learns about Amy.

Neil Gaiman quit Tumblr because someone decided to send him a terrible crossover fic of Good Omens, Deltarune, and Brooklyn 99 in which he was a character and there was a scene of him pegging Jake Peralta.

jake peralta going on a blind date that boyle set up but she’s actually completely his type
literally the love of my life tysm for the request
-
"No. No. No. No. No. No. No. And did I mention, no!" Jake says exasperatedly. "You see, I knew you would say that which is why I already set up the date with her." Charles rebuttals. He tells him your name as he taps rhythmically on Jake's desk. "She's thirty-two, she loves herself some Tay-Tay, and her favorite soup is crab bisque. I met her in my hot goat yoga class." "Ew, what." "Yeah, I'm hearing how that sounds now. But still, I think you'd like her. Who knows, by the end of the night you may just be smushing booties." Jake groans, "God, Boyle, don't say smushing booties." "Right, yeah, yep," He picks up the file from Jake's desk, turning to the man as he walks away, "Shaw's Bar, 8 o'clock."
Charles turns back around and bumps into Terry as he walks to his desk. He groans as he crushes his yogurt cup in his hand, "Damnnit, Boyle." "Sorry," He says as he backs toward the exit of the bullpen. He rapidly clicks the close button once inside the elevator, evading Terry's angry gaze. "Jake sighs as he looks back at his computer.
"So, hot date tonight, huh?" Amy asks as she leans around their computers to smirk smugly at him. "Uhm, no. I'm not going," He says, his eyes not leaving the screen as he types mindlessly. "What? Why not? Charles says she's perfect for you." "Exactly: Charles thinks she's perfect for me. Knowing him she's either some hot goat yoga-loving freak, or-" "Or actually perfect for you. I think you should give it a shot. I mean, you're constantly complaining about how horribly dull your love life is," Jake frowns, "Hey, now, I wouldn't say horrible dull-" "Yes you would, and you have. Now no more fighting, you have a date to get ready for." Jake looks at the time at the bottom right corner of his monitor and sighs, "All right, fine. But when this all goes to total shit, I'm blaming you." Amy rolls her eyes with a grin and opens the next file from her stack as Jake makes his way to the elevator.
-
The bell rings as Jake opens the door to Shaw's Bar, his free hand shoved in his jacket pocket. The warm, boozy bar air fills his nostrils as he steps toward the bar, the glass door closing slowly behind him. He looks around the bar, hoping to instantly recognize the mystery woman, to no avail.
The bell rings again as Jake asks Hank for an orange soda on the rocks. The bartender sighs exhaustedly as he pulls the Crush can out of the mini fridge from behind the bar. "Jake?" A voice asks as someone taps him on the shoulder. He turns around, and his mouth opens and closes like a fish as his brain short-circuits. "Or not?" You laugh awkwardly, "I'm really sorry about this, I was told someone would be here, but it looks like he stood me up." You sit one chair over at the bartop, sighing as you rest your chin on your fist.
"Hi," Jake says as he hold out his hand, "I'm Jake." "Oh," You breathe, "Sorry. You didn't say anything and I just thought- Y'know what, never mind, I'm probably not what you were expecting." Jake smiles, "Well, you're right there. Charles told me he met you in a 'hot goat yoga class'." You cringe slightly, "I honestly didn't even know his name, I walked into the wrong building and he started talking to me about his friend Jake." "Sounds about right." You both laugh and he moves to the chair between you.
"So, my weird friend tells me you like Taylor Swift," Jake starts and the conversation lasts hours, the orange soda on the countertop left completely ignored. "All right, time to wrap it up. The bar's closing." Hank says as he wipes the counter. "Oh my god, how long have we been here?" Jake asks him, surprised. The bartender ignores him as he moves on to another part of the bar. You look around to find the bar completely empty.
You laugh quietly, "This was fun," You say softly as you exit the bar, "We should do this again-" You're cut off by a sudden surprising kiss, Jake's hands holding your cheeks gently to keep you close. Your eyes flutter closed and take the collar of his shirt in your fists. He pulls away, mumbling out a quick 'noice' before getting pulled back into a kiss that leaves him gasping for breath.
-

MINORS DNI 18+
JAKE PERALTA can't believe his stroke of good luck. Of pure, unadulterated good luck. He had entered the crime scene with you mere moments ago and after a heated exchange of bouncing off of each other with observations— your voices gradually raising at the same level as you near the climax of the conversation— you'd given him the look. Focused eyes watching him through your brows, the curl of your parted lips, panting through them. How you assessed him, scanned his figure like he was edible, sharing a silent moment with him as you calculate exactly what you wanna do to him. Next thing he knew you were excusing you and him saying you'd be going out for coffee, when you'd pulled him into the nearest cleaning closet of the apartment complex that wasn't crawling with cops. Now he's balls deep inside you, clothes having hastily been moved aside to accommodate it.
"Jakey," you whine, dragging out the word. He loves it when you call him that. Gets him all hot and bothered, afraid he'd give you whatever you asked for when you invoke that pretty petname off those pretty lips. "you fuck me so good..."
His teeth bite hard into the skin past his lips, brows creased in concentration so as not to bust to early. It's a quickie, a fucking hot one, but he's still got manners. The sound of your voice has his eyes rolling into the back of his head as he's fucking you from the back, big hands on your hips to keep pulling you back onto his cock while you brace on the wall. A brief moan hums through his nose as he directs you closer to him, talking shit in your ear, "Do I fuck you good? Yeah? Yeah, baby? 'I fuck you good?" breathless, and dizzy with pleasure, he can't believe someone like you is this into him.

jake peralta praising reader while overstimulating her please 🙏🙏🫡
HAHA NONNIE, WHOEVER IS THIS I LOVE YOU, and thank you for requesting nonnie <3
Tumblr media
jake has been at it for an hour, constantly edging you over and over again, his fingers never stopping
occasionally his mouth latches onto your nipples or neck or basically anywhere on your body
"good girl, you've been so patient haven't you?" he asks with a slight grin knowing you can't even answer after being edged so much, all you could was desperately nod your head rapidly
desperate for him to make you cum, that's all you wanted right now
you whine for jake to make you cum, jake tuts and looks at you with a huge grin "aw well baby okay, you've been so patient haven't ya?"
his fingers start to pump in and out of you, all you could do was moan
you felt a tight knot in your stomach, you were about to cum and he could feel it
"god you're so tight sweetheart, already clenching my fingers so tight"
he started to pump his fingers in and out of you even faster and started sucking on your clit, it felt so good, your eyes rolled back into your head out of pleasure, you couldn't even speak or say anything
you moaned loudly has you came on his fingers, he gently took his fingers out of you and kissed your forehead, and praised you for hours on end after that

How He Made You Feel
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jake Peralta x Reader
Premise: Right before the first sleepover of your romantic relationship, Jake puts a high school teacher behind bars for attempted sexual assault. The case brings up some difficult high school memories for you.
Warnings: mentions of sexual assault, mentions of sexual harassment, downplaying of sexual harassment
Word count: approx. 2,500
A/N: I'm back! Let me know in the comments if you want more Jake Peralta fics. (I'm not sure there's an audience for it.) Hope you enjoy! <3
Jake Peralta is the king of cinnamon buns. Eating the ones you bake, that is.
“This is like heaven on my tongue!” He moans. He licks some cream cheese frosting off the top. “Babe, these are seriously amazing.”
Your back relaxes. “Thanks, Jakey.”
Right after your shift at the 99th precinct, you zipped to your apartment to chill before the first sleepover of your romantic relationship (no pressure). Rather than chillaxing, your anxiety sparked, and kneading dough became the outlet. Your in-a-pinch cinnamon buns never fail to soothe your soul or anyone’s taste buds. Now that you’re in his kitchen, you’re grateful for the baking conniption. Jake’s indulgence gives you a moment to ground.
As he gulps down another bite, his eyebrow quirks. “Jakey?” He flashes that cheeky grin you love to hate.
Your face warms. “I never said that.”
“Nope! No take backs! It’s on the record!”
You scoff. “Aren’t you a little young for hearing loss?”
“Hey!” He pokes the edge of your forced frown. “You said it, and you know it, and it was adorable.”
Your heart beats in your ears. “You liked it?”
Jake’s eyes soften. “Yeah, I liked it.” He smirks mischievously. “And you’re getting all mushy on me.”
You roll your eyes. “Oh, please, Peralta.”
“I’ve got you wrapped around my finger.” He pokes your side.
You jerk away. “You don’t, and you know it.”
“If you say so! But I know what cutesy-nickname territory means.”
The buzz of his phone spares you from his ribbing. “Our DoorDash is here. I’m going to pick it up downstairs.” Jake slips on his slides.
“Kay. Thanks.”
He leans over his kitchen chair to kiss your cheek. “Course. BRB.”
Jake rushes out his apartment door. In his absence, you observe his place: the mopped kitchen tile, his clean olive green couch, his stash of beginner recipe books tucked on a shelf above a kitchen counter. When you first transferred to the 99, you couldn’t imagine Peralta had an inkling of an organized domestic in him.
Your tan trench coat hangs next to his leather NYPD jacket on the coat rack in the hall. Your heart palpitates. That was the first stitch of your domestic lives being sewn together. You wring your hands.
Jake doesn’t care about stains. You’ll eat Indian take-out from the container while watching some corny comedy he loves and you bemoan on his bare sofa. You tidy the kitchen table anyway.
The wave of anxiety begins to crest as you straighten junk mail from random magazines and political campaigns. You brush crumbs off the new placemats you forced on him through Office Secret Santa. (Weave placements are a recipe for soup-spill disasters.) You leave the manila files of cases he’s working on untouched off to the side.
You pour two tall glasses of water.  So what if you ordered drinks? Jake’s bloodstream will become half orange soda if someone doesn’t counteract his addiction.
Just as you’re setting the glasses down, there’s a knock on the door.
You jump. Your hand jerks, sending a manila folder flying to the floor, its confidential contents scattering behind the island on impact. Shit.
“Forgot my keys, babe!” Jake calls.
“Coming!”
Upon opening the door, a smiley Jake awaits you, holding a white cardboard box to his chest. The mouth watering aromas wafting from it don’t calm your cortisol levels.
His head tilts. “Why the long face?”
You step aside. “When you knocked, I jumped and slapped one of your files off the kitchen table. I’m sorry.”
His brow furrows. “It’s no problem.” He says, as if he doesn’t understand why you’re on edge.
“Everything spilled out.” You elaborate. Though you wouldn’t describe Jake as neat, he’s particular. Though the order of his files and notes are Greek to everyone else, it makes sense to him. He hates when someone “tidies” it without his permission.
Jake walks towards the kitchen. “Yeah, on the floor, not another dimension. It’s okay. Besides, it doesn’t need to be in any specific order– I closed that case today. I’m returning everything to the file room first thing.”
You trail behind him. “Did you close while I was uptown with Boyle?”
“Yep.” He plops the takeout box on the table. He kneels down to gather the rogue papers. “While you were out gathering evidence, I was cracking the code on this creep.”
Your eyebrows knit. “Sexual assault case?” You sort your take out into categories: his, hers, and shared.
Jake taps a stack of papers straight against a countertop. “Attempted.  And he was a fucking high school teacher. Luckily, it was all on security cam. Easy win.”
The styrofoam carton of lamb samosas trembles in your hand. “That’s upsetting.”
“Majorly. Sadly, he’ll probably get off easy. I mean it was attempted. Not that it should’ve been full-on assault or that what happened isn’t terrible–”
“I understand what you mean, Jake.” You assure. It’s how sex crimes go.
You open your potato samosa carton. “These are the bomb dot com,” you say. It’s an easy lay up for him.
“That ass is the bomb dot com!” Your chest loosens at the change of topic.
You shoot Jake a glare. He puts his hands up.
He picks up the last of stray papers as you grab plates and utensils.  When he’s done, he grabs the drink holder, your Pineapple Fanta and your pink lemonade each tucked in a cardboard slot. “Let’s go sit, m’lady.”
You reach for the drink holder with your free hand, but he twists his torso away. He nods towards the living room. “Relax. Pick a show. Remote’s on the coffee table.”
When Jake joins you on the couch, you immediately reach for your potato samosas.
“You weren’t kidding when you said those were your favorite.” Jake chuckles.
“Absolutely not. Try the lamb. They should be in the center– that’s the shared column.”
Jake affectionately rolls his eyes. “You treat life like an Excel spreadsheet.”
“Someone has to.” The cold condensation on your small pink lemonade chills your hand. “Hopefully, a detective would.”
He grabs his chest as if you struck him. “Your passive aggression is a stab to my heart!”
You pop open the container of jasmine rice. “What subject did that teacher teach?” You ask.
“The creeper?”
“Mhmm.”
Jake opens a container of chicken saagwala. “History.”
You hum disappointedly. “History teachers were always the coolest. Especially the male ones.” You stab your plastic fork into the rice and reach for the curry.
“Now I wish I slept less in history class.” Jake remarks.
You stare blankly at the coffee table as you spoon your (hopefully) extra spicy curry onto your plate.
The couch sighs as Jake sinks back into the cushions, his left arm stretching to lay behind you on the sofa’s back. “Such a scumbag. The girl was barely legal–could’ve been one of his own students. To make matters worse, she looked 16.”
In your head, you count your breaths. You zone in on the white grains of rice you’re absentmindedly pushing into your curry sauce.
You see your high school hallway. You remember the misery, the pressure. Mr. Johnston.
“You listening to me, babe?”
He taps your calf with the tip of his slide. You flinch.
“Sorry,” he says. Didn’t mean to startle you.”
“That’s alright.”
In your peripheral vision, he leans forward. “You okay?”
You nod. “I’m great.” You click on his TV. “Just got a bit lost in my thoughts for a second.”
You feel Jake studying your side profile.
You click on Netflix. “Let’s do something lighthearted.” You drop down to his My List. Thankfully, you don’t have to search long to find something passable.
“This one okay?” You ask. “I’ve been wanting to watch this too.”
“More than okay.”
The strings of the production company’s opening music fill the living room. You fiddle with your fork. Queasiness bites at you.
You need to shake this. This was your first sleepover with Jake. Don’t ruin this experience for yourself. It was so long ago. Nothing happened. It was uncomfortable, but you were alright. It was nowhere close to what that victim experienced. You’re fine. Is your asthma acting up?
You rest your plate on the coffee table. “Keep watching. I need the restroom real quick.”
You speed walk across the apartment to his bathroom, locking the door behind you. You turn the faucet to screeching cold. You dip your head into the basin and splash ice water in your face.
Your lungs gasp open from shock. Your brain drops back into your body.
Everything’s safe. You’re okay. Tonight will be great. Don’t let some creep going to trial rattle you like this and ruin the evening.
You find a clean towel in a drawer and dry your face. After taking a detour to his bathroom to toss it in his hamper, you take three final deep breaths, your hand over your heart.
You’re fine. Nothing’s happening.
You return to the couch with a soft smile. “Sorry, Jake.”
“No problem. You okay?” He asks again.
You hate lying to him. “Yeah, I just had to pee.”
The movie snaps back to action. Though you didn’t ask, he paused for you. As the film unfurls, as predicted, you poke fun at the plot and Jake ardently defends it. The banter warms you, but the knot in the pit of your stomach refuses to unfurl.
Once your plate is clean, you lay your head on Jake’s shoulder. As the leading actress does something you don’t register, Jake’s laughter ripples through your hollow chest.
It was so long ago. Nothing happened. It was uncomfortable, but you survived it. He never touched you. It was so long ago. He must be retired by now. It wasn’t your fault. There was nothing to be your fault. Nothing criminal happened. Nothing. It was so–
“(Y/N).”
You gasp. You snap up straight. The movie’s been paused.
“Sorry, I couldn’t get your attention.” Jake says gently.
Your heart sinks. “It’s…I’m just in my head.” You roughly run a hand through your hair. “So sorry.”
“You don’t need to apologize. What’s wrong?”
“It doesn’t matter.” You stare at your knees.
Jake intertwines his fingers with yours. “It’s definitely substantial for you to be distracted like this.” He squeezes your hand. “I’m here.”
You smile sadly. “I don’t want to bring the vibe down.”
“Acquiring (Y/N) lore rivals catching bad guys as my favorite thing to do. Telling me about your feelings could never bring the vibe down. ”
A courteous dismissal gets tangled in your throat. Is that really what you want to say?
Your free hand fiddles with the end of your hair. “I really don’t know how to talk about this.”
“Take all the time you need.”
You force a deep breath. “Your case threw me off.”
His eyebrows knit. “The teacher–creep one?”
You nod. “The teacher…you said he harassed a young woman who looked 16.”
He nods.
“It reminds me of an experience I had in high school when I was 17.”
His thumb strokes the back of your hand. “How so?” He asks gently.
“There was… this science teacher– Mr. Johnston. One semester, I had to walk by his classroom everyday. I had to walk from my homeroom on the opposite end of the school, so sometimes I would get there right after the bell rang. When I was alone, he would always offer to walk me to class…even though it was only a couple doors down from his.”
Jake nods.
“He said he was trying to make sure I didn’t get in trouble for tardiness…but he never told my teacher he walked me. And he did it even after he knew I wouldn’t get in trouble and that I was only going two doors down from his classroom.”
“That’s definitely weird.”
“He also used to do this weird thing where he would walk right behind me…I think it was supposed to be copying my walk to tease me. One day, he came up super close behind me– close enough to smell my perfume. All I could think about was how close to my ass he was.”
Anger cuts through Jake’s expression. “Did anyone see this?”
“Some other teachers did. They didn’t see anything wrong with it…they laughed it off everytime. I guess they saw it as a harmless joke. But, it made me really uncomfortable. Everyday I would pray that he wouldn’t say hi to me or be weird and would just let me walk to class. I figured maybe I was crazy, making something out of nothing, but it just felt wrong. At the time, I tried to block it out, I had other stressors to deal with…but right after I graduated, I reflected on it and other stories I heard about him…and I was creeped out.”
“(Y/N), I’m so sorry. Did you ever report this?”
“I confided in another teacher about it, but I never formally reported anything. I don’t know if he ever talked to his colleague about his behavior. Plus, I didn't think there was anything concrete to report.” You sigh. “It felt so wrong. I remember being so afraid of being alone in a room with him…he was a co-advisor for some extracurriculars I was a part of. There, he was always completely indifferent towards me but in those hallways in the morning…”
“With less people.” Jake notes. “And colleagues who didn’t take his behavior seriously.”
You nod.
“(Y/N), I’m so, so sorry. That isn’t okay.”
“I’m still not really sure if anything did happen to me. He didn’t touch me….he just…”
Jake shakes his head. “Followed you down hallways and got close to your body. That’s not okay.” He squeezes your hand again. “How did it make you feel?”
“Violated.” You admit.
Jake nods. “That’s what matters. How he made you feel matters. I’m so sorry that happened to you.”
Tears well in your eyes. “Thanks, Jake.”
Jake offers you a tissue. “Do you know what ever happened to that teacher?”
You wipe your eyes. “I believe he retired…not 100% sure.”
His face hardens. “I can track him down if you like.”
“No, Jake…there’s nothing to report. No evidence. Just a dead-end case of “he said she said” from over 10 years ago. Even if I reported it earlier, I doubt anything could have happened.”
Jake groans. “This sucks. I’m sorry for what you went through. No one should feel uncomfortable with a teacher at school. Jesus, every time I think I get what women go through, I learn it’s worse than I imagined. I’m so, so sorry.”
You dab your eyes. “Thank you for not belittling what happened to me. It’s great to have someone like you...you don't downplay what I feel."
He kisses your nose. “It’s part of my boyfriend duties; it’s what I’m here for.”
You press a tender kiss to his lips. “Thank you for being a safe space to talk.”
He returns the peck. “Forever and always.”
Jake Peralta is a goofball. He can be messy– both literally and figuratively. But at the core of it all was a mensch’s heart.

"2 AM and I'm Cursing Your Name" ~ (jake peralta x reader's version)
Tumblr media
sum! "Reader got home way too late and the Jake has been pacing and worrying all night..."
tw! arguing, idk jake
uhhhh idk how i feel abt this mixed feelings ngl, kinda short too
Tumblr media
You and Jake had been fighting for just stupid things for a little bit now. It never was super important and you would just make up 30 minutes later. Not this time though.
This time it was a stupid argument, because Jake was being stupid. He fought a dangerous criminal without backup and not only that, his gun fell out in the car. Not only was this dangerous but he got away.
The two of you were upset about different things when it came to this situation, but you both agreed you were upset.
"Can we drop this? I'm still trying to catch a criminal, ya know my job?" Jake said, peeved.
You could only roll your eyes and reply snarkily, "I am literally trying to tell you about my concerns for your job! But why would you care? You don't listen!"
He returned the same eye roll, "The same concerns that I quite literally have heard all week possibly? Those concerns?"
You couldn't respond with anything other than a scoff/laugh. Absolutely speechless. Sorry you don't want him dead? Why doesn't he listen?! Why is he so stubborn?!
Your grabbed your purse, your phone, and your keys before leaving. You went out the front door without a word in reply to him. You were so pissed off you couldn't physically be around him, so you just left. You'd be back before you went to sleep, but you wouldn't tell him that.
You could hear him get half way through your name before you shut the door, calling you to come back.
He noticed you had turned your location off, so he wouldn't follow you. You stubborn bastard.
You were just walking around Brooklyn for a while, besides the smells, you forgot how pretty New York can be at night. You saw the sunset and then the buildings lit up once it was dark. You got a few pictures of it. You got some snacks while you were out, street meat and what not. But you wanted to go back home. Even though that was gonna take another hour to get home.
You got some fast food before arriving home, your favorite order and Jake's. You still loved him and wanted him to eat. You know he won't eat if he feels like something is genuinely wrong. He'll focus on fixing that rather than eating.
You got home, food and drinks in hand, walking in the front door. You saw him pacing around the living room, phone in hand, before he realised you were there.
"Babe, look I didn't understand why you were so upset until I imagined it was you. I imagined you going in without backup and without your gun and it scared me. I'm sorry and you're not in the wrong, okay? Please don't be mad at me" He blabbed out.
You started smiling halfway through his sentence, "i brought food for us?"
You held up the bag as you talked, showing proof.
He smiled back at you and grabbed the drinks from you to make it easier to carry.
You guys ate together while watching a movie. Once you both finished your food you ended up cuddling, accidentally, while watching the movie.
"I'm sorry I was sorta a jackass," You say barely above a whisper, "I was just mad that you did something that dumb and didn't seem to care"
He nodded, "I know. It's okay, I'm not mad."

In a world of boys, he’s a gentle man
pairings: Jake Peralta x female reader
warnings: Men being men. Angst with happy ending.
word count: 2.6k
summary: You’re having a hard time at work, things are stressing you out and you’re at a crossroad in your relationship with Jake but he’ll always fix his mistakes.
Tumblr media
———————————————————————
The blaring of your obnoxious alarm fills your ears. Ripping you from your sleep for another day of work, another day of men undermining you, another day of unsolved crimes.
You reluctantly drag yourself out of your bed and get ready. To make matters worse you and your boyfriend Jake were fighting- you wanted him to move in but his fear of commitment made him laugh the topic off and diminish your feelings. You understood his issues, but it wasn’t fair. So you told him you needed space, and surprisingly he hasn’t contacted you yet. Not that you’re necessarily upset about that, you had mixed feelings.
You arrive to work at 9:12am. And there stands holt an eyebrow raised at you. You sigh and begin.
“I’m sorry sir. I got stuck in traffic.”
“So you’re the only one of my detectives late because of traffic, even though you live closest to the precinct.” Holt gives you a stern look and you just nod and walk into his office. He follows you in and shuts the door, you take a seat.
“I’m sorry captain. I don’t know what you expect me to say.”
“I appreciate the apology. But I’m worried about you (Y/L/N), you’re one of the finest detectives in the precinct yet you cannot unsolve simplest of cases?”
“I know. I just have a lot going on right now.”
“Well I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to take your cases and put you onto paperwork tasks. I understand it won’t help but it’s protocol.”
You just nod and exit his room, not looking where you’re going you walk right into Hitchcock who spills his coffee all over you. You take a long breath and look right at him. Violent outbursts weren’t your thing, but the stupidity of the situation is making it hard not to punch him in the face.
“Would you watch where you’re going!” You storm off into the women’s bathroom to dry your shirt off. A worried Amy follows you in.
“(Y/N)? Are you okay?” Amy asks, slowly moving towards you where you stand drying your coffee stained blouse.
You look at Amy and can’t help the tears that are filling your eyes. “I’m sorry i’m fine. It’s not big deal.”
Amy puts a hand on your arm, giving you a reassuring smile. “I know you’ve been stressed recently, and I’m sorry that your cases have been reassigned. But think of it as a break. Now you can have time to think.”
You nod and offer her a smile. Amy was undoubtedly your best friend, she had a way of understanding your feelings and you appreciated that more than you could explain.
“Thank you Ames. you’re amazing.” You and Amy share a hug before she leaves the bathroom. You dry your shirt by which time you’ve collected your thoughts. Allowing you to go back out there with a clear head and better intentions.
Walking back to your desk you get a few reluctant glances, you know it’s bad when people look at your like you’re Rosa. Half way through your first paper work task you get a short tap on your shoulder, you turn around to see Jake. He looks worn down, not as enthusiastic as usual. You would be lying if you said you didn’t feel a little bit bad, your aim was not to upset Jake when you said you wanted space, but to give yourself time to think. Which you haven’t even had a chance to do yet.
“I brought you a coffee.” Jake says, it was strange to see him so… calm? The main reason you agreed to go out with Jake was because he made you laugh. Because being with him was easy, you didn’t have to change yourself to be with him and that was all anyone could ask for. But the last few days he has been indifferent, you couldn’t help but blame yourself.
“Thank you.” You smile and take the coffee from his hands. Jake nods and starts to walk away, he glances back at you. Continues to walk, glances back again then walks back to you.
“Can.. we talk later? I know you want space but I hate this. I feel bad and it’s just..”
You cut him off with a sympathetic look. “Jake..” you begin, your tone flat.
“Yeah. sorry.” He walks away, this time not looking back.
You sigh and look to your left where Charles is sitting shaking his head and wiping his eyes. You furrow your brows at him and he takes that as an invite over. He walks over to your desk, his shoulders slumped.
“Can I help you Charles?”
“God. I’m so worried about you and jake. These last few days have been utter hell. I haven’t felt this helpless since Elenor and I divorced. I’m so upset I can’t even eat my stake tartare.”
“Maybe that’s for the best Charles, sounds absolutely disgusting.” You shake your head in disgust, “as for me and Jake we are grown adults and can sort it ourselves. Don’t stress.”
“That’s impossible! I’ll talk to Jake. I know how to solve the issue, a nurturing shower where he tenderly washes your hair with lavender shampoo.”
“Seriously?! Go back to your desk.” You shoo him away with your hand. Accepting defeat, sometimes you feel bad for dismissing Charles, but not today.
By lunch time you made a reasonable dent in your paperwork. You glance over to Jake, he’s doing paperwork too. But nothing is distracting him, not even the fact that captain Holt cracked a smile, at least someone’s in a good mood.
“Come on get your stuff we’re going to get lunch.” Rosa says standing in front of your desk with her arms crossed. Behind her is Gina.
“This doesn’t mean I care about you by the way girl. I need a break from my endless paperwork.”
You look over to Gina’s desk and roll your eyes, she had two files sitting there. “Wow I couldn’t imagine it. Is Amy coming?”
“It was her idea to bring you to lunch, then she got out her colour coordinated file of conflict resolution to help you lighten up. So I told her the wrong place, being around nerds is not what I need right now. Poor Amy sitting alone with nothing but her folder.” Gina shrugs.
You grab your jacket and go out with Gina and Rosa. You go to a cafe near the precinct, the cafe echoed with small talk and coffee pots brewing. It was peaceful compared to the loud precinct, the constant keyboard clicks and nonsense talk could of easily driven you mad.
“Damn I think you ruined Jake’s life, he’s a serious depresso these days.” Gina starts.
“I did not ruin his life. I needed space.”
“Why? Did his immaturity get the better of you?” Rosa questioned, you were slightly surprised at her input. Usually an outing with Rosa entails complete silence.
You sigh taking a sip of your drink. “I wanted us to move in together. He brushed it off saying there’s no need. So I told him I needed space from him and time to think, I feel bad sure but I don’t know what to do. It feels like he doesn’t love me enough to work through these issues.” You swallow back the lump in your throat.
“Mmkay well not to give you a compliment but Jake does love you.” Gina retorts. Rosa nods in agreement.
“You always try to get me to talk about my feelings, so take your own advice and go talk to him.” Rosa added.
“I don’t know what to say, we’ve been together for almost two years and it feels like we’re capped at the newly established relationship part.”
“I think that’s enough relationship talk. Who do you think we are, Amy Santiago? No.” Gina scoffed, as she did the food arrived. You sit with your friends eating lunch and listening to Gina talk about her upcoming dance competition and her love for Beyoncé.
———————————————————————
“Thanks for lunch.” You smile at Gina and Rosa as you sit back at your desk.
“Yeah whatever you’re welcome.” Rosa shrugs. You continue with your work, peacefully getting through your tasks with your mood peaking by the minute.
“(Y/N) can you give these files down to officer Smith?” Your sarge Terry asks, you get the files off his desk and get into the elevator to go downstairs.
It was no secret that the officers downstairs were dicks. They didn’t like you, especially officer Smith as you rejected him years ago. Ever since then he’s been making remarks about you attempting to piss you off, this has been applied to Jake as well because he is your boyfriend. Right after stepping out of the elevator you hear a wolf whistle coming from officer Smith. you roll your eyes and walk to his desk handing him the files.
“A present for me? You shouldn’t have.”
You ignore his words and explain the contents of the files, he doesn’t seem to be even paying attention but you didn’t care. That was until he piped up.
“How come you’re giving me files and not Gina?” You go to speak and he puts his finger to his mouth silencing you. “Don’t tell me the nine nine’s lousiest detective has been placed on desk duty.”
“It’s absolutely none of your business. But even so desk duty is much better than being stuck as a first rate officer for eight wasteful years.”
“Ah typical (Y/L/N) being a bitch when she gets her feelings hurt.”
“You’re pathetic. Don’t you get bored of being a dick?”
“You’re Goddamn insufferable. Just shut the fuck up and clear off.”
“Gladly. When you get off your ass for the first time today make sure to leave these files back.”
With that you walk away, but the cruel words that he shouted after had you clenching your fists and unwillingly crying in the elevator. That man knew how to get under your skin and you hated him with a burning passion. As you walk out of the elevator you wipe your eyes trying to mask the fact you’ve been embarrassingly crying. And once again you collide with someone. Their hands steady you by grabbing your shoulders. You sigh and look up, seeing Jake with a concerned look plastered on his face.
“Are you crying?”
“No.” You scoff as if you’re offended by the accusation.
“What happened?”
“Just Officer Smith being a dick.” You mumble.
His thumb lightly brushes a stray tear from your eye, you unwillingly melt into his touch, it’s warm and makes you feel safe.
“Whatever he said to you is irrelevant. He’s the biggest jerk ever. Don’t stoop down to his level and listen to what he has to say. You’re worth so much more than that.”
“Thank you Jake.” You run your thumb over his knuckles, a soft smile apparent on your face. Jake squeezed your hand three times, and you return the gesture. His face immediately brightens up, your eyes meet and you find yourself getting lost in his.
You hear a clearing of a throat, you look to your side seeing captain Holt stood with him arms crossed. You immediately drop Jake’s hand and he lets go of your shoulder. You both go back to your own desks. Today has made you realise talking to Jake is the best solution, it was only making you both miserable being apart. So you write him a note reading: ‘want to come over later?’ You throw it at him and it hits him in the head.
You watch his reaction to reading it. He scribbles something back on the page and throws it in your direction, but unluckily it hits Holt right in the face as he walks past your desk. You watch Jake’s eyes widen like a deer in headlights as he quickly looks down and pretends to be writing.
“Who on earth threw that?!” Holt rages. Everyone looks up from their desks yet no one takes accountability. Holt picks up the paper and reads it out. “Want to come over later? As long as we can watch die hard. (Ps. that shirt you’re wearing looks hot af)”
Your face turns a deep crimson as you look down at your desk, refusing eye contact. Everyone is quiet, mostly likely mentally scarred by the note. until Charles pipes up.
“WOOHOO!” He yells. “my dream couple are back. Did take my advice Jakey?”
“No Charles. I did not spoon feed her duck soup!”
“Gosh it’s a miracle things worked out.” Charles replied. You look over to Amy who looks just as disgusted as you from Charles’ statement.
“You two my office. Now.” Holt says whilst walking back to his office.
Jake follows behind you into Holt’s office, you both take a seat as does Holt. He does not look happy, or so you assume. He was difficult to read.
“Today started wonderfully. Everyone had work done. I even cracked a smile.” Holt starts. “However you two acting like teenagers is ridiculous! Throwing notes to each other like you’re in middle school?”
“(Y/L/N) started it.” Jake shakes his head in dismay. “She’s such a child.”
“Shut up Peralta.” You smack his arm, making him pull a classic face at you. You roll your eyes and cross you arms looking back at your captain.
“If you two can’t act mature then I’ll have to come up with a plan to keep you apart.”
You both mutter a sorry and he dismisses you. Of course the second you step out of his office you look at Jake and the both of you burst out laughing.
“What did I just say!” Holt shouts out, you both stop laughing and immediately go back to your desks.
———————————————————————
Your door knocked and you went to answer it. standing there is Jake with flowers, a tiny teddy bear and a bag full of snacks. You smile and let him in, letting him know the pizza is on its way.
“For you my lady.” Jake says in a God awful posh accent. You take the flowers and other things from him. You find yourself blushing at the thought of him buying you these things.
“Well aren’t you just a gentleman.” You kiss his cheek, he takes your chin in his hand and moves your face to look at him. Your foreheads touch and he leans in to kiss you, the kiss is tender and loving. You run your free hand through his hair and slowly pull back.
“I’m sorry for not taking things seriously.”
“It’s okay.”
“No I was being an idiot. I love what we have, and of course I want to move in with you. But that freaked me out and I was unfair. I want you to know that I would do anything for you. I want this for us, I want to come home with you every night, I want to wake up next to you every morning. I’m serious about you, I should have just told you that from the start. but I messed things up and to think that I almost ruined us-“
You shut him up by kissing him, you feel his smile against your lips. His hands go to your hips pulling you closer. You slowly pull away and he pulls you into a hug. The scent his cologne fades all the worries and doubts, it was simple. Jake was the only possible person you ever wanted to be with, and things would work out because you both were dedicated to making it work.
“Thank you.” You slowly pull back and stroke his cheek with your thumb.
“Okay I’m glad that worked out because I already sold my apartment.”
You roll your eyes. “Of course you did.” You tease.
The pizza arrives and the two of you lay on your couch together, eating pizza and watching die hard for the thousandth time. At this point you swear you could recite the script. But if it makes Jake happy then it makes you happy.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”

Tumblr media
It was the week leading up to Halloween which for the crew meant two things. One, final preparations for the Halloween Heist were being put into plans. And two, pranks. Specifically with Charles as the target.
You and Jake tag teamed on this one, getting the rest of the squad involved for your grand entrance.
"Hey, Charles!" Jake called, walking over to his buddy with a smile that could only mean hidden shenanigans. Jake had a hidden ear piece, connecting him to you so you could hear whatever he said. Paying attention for the signal as you waited just outside the elevator on the floor below.
"Jake!! Any Halloween costumes planned this year?" Charles asked with a grin, clearly very interested in Jake's halloween plans.
"Oh yeah um, I'm going as BeetleJuice." Complete lie, but one that was working perfectly for what the two of you had planned. Charles looked surprised. Jake going as... BeetleJuice? His Jake? Really?
"Wait, really?" Charles raised an eyebrow, resting his hands to his hips as he studied Jake. Part of him felt like something had to be up. Because this was Jake we were talking about. Didn't really seem like the type that would dress up as BeetleJuice.
"Yup, I'm going to see the new BeetleJuice movie with Amy." He explained, Charles nodded.
"Oh Amy? Is she dressing up too?" He asked, Jake folded his arms across his chest. When you heard him say BeetleJuice the second time, you jumped into the elevator. Pressing the button.
"In the elevator." You whispered into the comm, letting Jake know.
"Yeah, yeah totally. She's going as the main character from BeetleJuice." He tried to play it off smooth, despite not really remembering much about the movie.
"Jake, what's the mai-" Charles was cut off with a surprised scream as the doors opened to the elevator, revealing a very realistic BeetleJuice costume as you stepped out. Charles couldn't even tell it was you." Dude, you said Beetle- nope- three times?!"
"Yeah? So what?" Jake looked back at you, pretending to be surprised," oh my God! It's him!"
"Someone say... BeetleJuice?" You did dramatize jazz hands, Gina snapped a picture and smirked.
"You look so stupid." Gina was grinning from ear to ear, she was going to have fun with this one.
"Oh no. It's that guy." Rosa weakly played along, forgetting that Jake had asked her to look surprised when you showed up.
You walked over to Jake and gave him a high five, both of you grinning like idiots. You looked to Charles and he gave your costume a once over.
"Wow, very impressive BeetleJuice costume. I actually believed it for a second there." He admitted, you laughed a little.
"Thanks, Charles."
Holt walked into the room, holding files as he took had to take a second glance at you." I don't even want to know, L/N." He walked into his office. Holding back a smirk.
"Oh he totally wanted to know. Holt just lied." Jake grinned, looking to you.
"Really? It's hard to tell with that guy." You replied, confused on how Jake so easily clocked it. Jake just shrugged, not planning on telling the Holt secret. Which was using contractions in his sentences when he lies.

Hii! Can i request rosa diaz x fem doctor reader wherein they are dating and one day reader suddenly sees rosa in the hospital (confined due to an injury during a chase) and the rest is up to u!!
Heyy. Thanks for being my first request!
Anyways, I'm not used to established relationships so this might be kind of weird but I hope you enjoy it.
EHR=Electronic Health Record
Healing Touch
Ship: Rosa Díaz x doctor!reader
Wordcount: 538
Working in the ER is not an easy job; it’s a whirlwind of long shifts, high pressure, and barely any breaks. The relentless pace can be exhausting, and the emotional toll can sometimes be overwhelming. Yet, despite the challenges, it fulfills me in ways I could never have imagined. Each day, I am reminded of why I chose this path.
Being a doctor was my lifelong dream. From a young age, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others. The journey to get here was long and arduous, filled with years of rigorous study, sleepless nights, and countless sacrifices. But every moment was worth it. Being an emergency pediatrician is all I ever wanted.
Now I’m standing in the middle of the ER on a Friday night. Fridays are always the busiest nights. The rooms are filled with victims of road accidents, drunks, sick kids and junkies trying to get some prescription drugs.
I hear my name being paged, in the busy shifts I usually help with older patients, even if that’s not my specialty. Alex, one of the nurses, filled me in in the situation: a group of police officers ambushed a drug deal and they were met with a barrage of gunfire. Chaos erupted, and several officers were injured.
My heart starts to beat faster and I suddenly feel nauseous. My girlfriend, Rosa, didn’t answer my last two calls and now it makes sense, she may be injured. So, I check the EHR, there I find her: Rosa Díaz | Room 765 |Bullet Wound
A tear threatens to fall from my eyes as I struggle to keep my emotions in check. The feeling of powerlessness weighs heavily on my shoulders, but I know I need to remain professional. I force myself to focus on my duties, pacing around the rooms, checking on each patient, and tending to their needs with as much care and attention as I can muster. The busywork helps to distract me, but the knot in my stomach only tightens as I approach Room 765.
I take a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. This is the room I've been dreading, the one that holds the person who means the most to me. Summoning all my courage, I finally open the door and step inside.
There I find her, she had bandages around her torso, she lifts herself from the stretcher and winces from the pain. I walk faster to be by her side.
- “Are you okay? I mean, how do you feel?” – I brush her cheek lightly with the back of my hand.
- “Yeah, yeah. I just have one extra hole on my body.” – She chuckles but I don’t find it particularly humorous.
- “Glad to see the wound is purely physical, then.” – I smile.
-” Well Ms. Doctor, know that you mention it. I there’s a light pain on my lips, and I think a kiss would make me feel better.” – I smile wider and inch closer to her face.
- “Oh, Officer Díaz, that would be highly unprofessional and unethical on my part bec…” – That’s as far as I got on my ironically professional speech before Rosa graved my neck and connected our lips.

BUT I CAN’T HELP IT, I’VE FALLEN FOR YOU
a rosa diaz x oc fic
Tumblr media
“i was surprised, when i found out i’d fallen for you”
a fic where maddy gets drunk and can’t stop confessing to jake
Maddy hadn’t expected much from the night out with Amy, Rosa, and Gina. It was supposed to be a casual evening—just drinks, good conversation, and a chance to unwind. But something was different tonight. Maybe it was the way Rosa looked in that simple black dress, or how her laugh seemed to light up the entire bar. Either way, Maddy couldn’t stop herself from stealing glances across the table.
She tried to focus on the conversation, but her eyes always found their way back to Rosa. Rosa was talking animatedly about something, her hands gesturing as she spoke, and Maddy couldn’t help but notice the way the light caught in her hair, or how her smile made her heart race just a little faster. It was silly—Maddy had always known she liked Rosa. They had been friends for months, after all—but tonight, it felt like something else. Something… more.
“Earth to Maddy?” Amy’s voice cut through the haze of Maddy’s thoughts, and she snapped back to the conversation.
“Sorry, what?” Maddy said, trying to act casual, but she could feel the heat creeping up her neck.
“I said, you’re being really quiet tonight. You good?” Amy asked, a teasing smile on her face.
Maddy forced a laugh, hoping Amy wouldn’t notice how flustered she was. “Yeah, I’m fine, just tired. I think I’ve had too much to drink.” She glanced quickly at Rosa again. Just friends. Just friends. Nothing more, Maddy reminded herself.
But it was hard to ignore the way her heart fluttered whenever Rosa’s eyes met hers. Or the way Rosa’s smile sent a ripple through her that she couldn’t explain.
Gina noticed, of course. She always did.
“Are you sure you’re okay, Maddy?” Gina raised an eyebrow, looking at her friend with a knowing expression. “You keep staring at Rosa like you’re going to devour her.”
Maddy nearly choked on her drink. “What? No! I’m not—”
“Oh, don’t act like it’s a secret,” Gina teased. “We all see it. It’s written all over your face.”
Rosa, who had been obliviously chatting with Amy, suddenly stopped mid-sentence and raised an eyebrow at Maddy. “What’s going on with you, Mads?”
“Nothing!” Maddy quickly replied, her voice a little too high-pitched. “I’m just… I’m just fine.” She took another quick sip of her drink, hoping the blush on her face wasn’t too obvious
After a while, Maddy’s phone buzzed with a text from Jake: “Got a call from Amy, picking you up. I’m on my way.”
She glanced up at Amy, who smiled knowingly. “Looks like Jake’s here. You’re safe now, Mads. Go home and sleep it off.”
“Thanks, Amy,” Maddy said, smiling a little before she stumbled out of the bar to wait for Jake
When Jake arrived at Shaw’s, he could tell right away Maddy was a little more tipsy than she let on. Still, he didn’t think much of it—he’d seen her worse, after all. He helped her into the car and drove her back to her apartment, making sure to keep things light, cracking jokes to keep her mind off anything that might be bothering her.
It didn’t take long for Jake and Maddy to reach her apartment. The cool night air helped sober her up a bit, but the thought of everything that had happened tonight was still weighing on her mind. She couldn’t stop thinking about Rosa, about how she’d felt something tonight. She needed to say it out loud, but she wasn’t sure if she could.
As they walked up the stairs to her apartment, Maddy’s thoughts began to spill out. “Jake?” she began hesitantly, her voice small.
“Yeah?” Jake asked, glancing at her with a raised eyebrow.
“I, uh…” Maddy trailed off, unsure of how to say it. She looked at Jake, his face illuminated by the dim hallway light. “I think I might be in love with Rosa.”
Jake stopped walking for a moment, his expression neutral, as though he had been expecting this. He gave her a small smile, but there was something understanding in his eyes. He didn’t say anything at first, just let her words hang in the air between them.
“Yeah?” Jake finally asked, his voice soft but knowing. “You’ve been kind of obvious, Mads.”
“I’m scared, though,” Maddy confessed, her voice wavering. “What if she doesn’t feel the same way? What if I ruin everything?”
Jake’s face softened, and he placed a hand on her shoulder. “If you don’t tell her, you’ll never know. You deserve to be honest with her. And yourself.” Jake smiled. “Now, let’s get you to bed. You’ve had a long night.”
Once they reached Maddy’s apartment, Jake helped her get ready for bed, making sure she was comfortable. Maddy was exhausted and a little embarrassed by how much she had drunk, but there was no denying the weight of her feelings for Rosa. She could feel them settling into her chest, and there was no turning back.
As Jake left to head for the door, Maddy, half-dazed from the alcohol, spoke quietly. “Jake?”
He turned back to her, pausing in the doorway. “Yeah?”
“I… I really love her,” Maddy said, her voice shaky but filled with conviction. “I love Rosa.”
Jake gave her a soft smile, his eyes filled with warmth. “I know, Mads. I know.”
With that, he left, closing the door gently behind him, and Maddy drifted off to sleep, her heart full of both fear and hope for what tomorrow might bring.
The next morning, Maddy woke to the smell of burnt toast wafting from the kitchen. She groaned, pushing herself up in bed before slowly making her way to the kitchen, where Jake was standing in front of the stove, trying to salvage the meal.
“Morning,” Jake greeted her with a grin, though he was clearly struggling to get the toast right. “How’re you feeling?”
“Like I got hit by a truck,” Maddy replied, rubbing her eyes.
She sat down at the kitchen counter, watching Jake work. There was a comfortable silence between them, but then Jake spoke up, casually flipping the toast.
“So, about last night,” he began, his voice light but serious. “You said something before you passed out.”
Maddy froze, her heart skipping a beat. “What did I say?”
Jake looked at her over his shoulder with a grin. “You told me you’re in love with Rosa.”
Maddy’s face turned a deep shade of red. “Oh God, I did, didn’t I?”
Jake chuckled. “Yeah, you did. And you know what? I think it’s great. You’ve got to tell her, Mads. You deserve to be happy.”
Maddy sighed, leaning her elbows on the counter. “I know. I just don’t know if she feels the same way.”
Jake paused for a moment, setting the now slightly burnt toast aside. “I think she might, Mads. You just need to tell her.”
“Thanks, Jake,” she said quietly, a small smile tugging at her lips. “I think I needed to hear that.”
Jake shrugged with a grin. “You’re welcome. Now eat your burnt toast. You look like you need it.”
Maddy laughed, feeling a little lighter than she had before. Maybe this was just the beginning of something new

cherry + jake peralta pls!
love ur work sm <33
cherry — do they get jealous of their lover easily? do they show it?
⤷ with: jake peralta
Tumblr media
Jake is a really competitive men, but not with thing that really matter. He wouldn't treat as a challeging between him and someone else. You are not something he's trying to win, you're his person. If someone don't see it, than they can get out of your lives.
If Jake is uncomfortable with someone, he will talk with you. Being honest is the best way to make everything all right. You will reassure him that you love him and only him, and he will feel better. There is no need to pretend that he's all right, not when he could be hearing your sweet words and feeling your sweet embrace.
That doesn't mean that it will always be perfect. If Jake see someone that he thinks would be better for you, he can start acting a little bit weird. He would never treat you badly or anything, but you would noticed. This time, you would need to be the one to talk to him and undertand what he's feeling. It will be a long conversation.
Jake trust you, and you trust him. Of course things can't be always perfect, but you both are trying. And trying, to keep on trying, is enough.
if you enjoyed, please reblog! i promise it makes a difference ♡
