Brookie pie. It's the same thing as brookies, but the 'pie' element comes from the fact the brownie batter makes up the base layer and the cookie dough makes the top layer. Personally, I prefer brookies, as it feels like a better distribution of brownies and cookies. However, a brookie pie definitely becomes better as the days go on, often as cookies do.

Trail Mix Trio Treat!

I love baking. Baking makes me happy. I also have been watching The Great British Baking Show, and felt like making an idea that popped into my head: Trail Mix broken into groups and put into classics (Cake, Brownie, Cookie) and combined into one item.

If you make this from scratch, you can control the ingredients and make it Keto or Vegan friendly. In in interest of full disclosure, I used boxes of Cake Mix, Brownie Mix, and Cooke Dough Mix, Chocolate and Vanilla Icing to prove the flavor/execution of the idea. So for this post, those are the ingredients I am going to note. (When I do one from scratch, and perfect that recipe-I will post an updated blog). 

Gather your ingredients and prep your tools. Also, I prefer the Indulgent Trail Mix from Aldi and separating the chips (Chocolate, White Chocolate, Peanut Butter), Nuts, and Dried Fruits into separate bowls before mixing anything. 

First step is going to be to make the brownies and put them in the tallest cookie sheet, at least 13x9, but butter the pan first. Mix the dried fruits into the brownie mix. 

Second Step is to make the cookie dough and swirl it in the mix. Mix the various chips into the cookie dough. Bake it at 350 Deg for 15-20 minutes. 

Third Step is to make the cupcake mix, and this mixture gets the nuts from the trail mix. I like to add pie spices in there to feel like fall. Getting this ready while your brookie bakes. 

Fourth Step is to bring the brookie out and let it cool, once you have tested with the toothpick that it baked through. Put the cupcakes in for 15 minutes. 

Fifth step is to take the cupcakes out, once baked, and let them cool. You can start cutting up the base. I cut the base level in half, one half for squares and one for layering circles. 

With the base in squares and circles and half the cupcakes allocated for icing/bare-assemble the Trail Mix Trio Treat. Placing the circles in the bottom of larger cupcake holders, put Chocolate or Vanilla Icing on top, place the cupcake on top. 

I loved how they came out, and if you don’t need a keto friendly dessert, make this with box mixes from Aldi’s. It is just as good with minimal effort. And I will admit, that this took two rounds to get right but DAMN did it feel good when I did get it right.

ok so last summer, i was hanging out with my bff @taegdcl1018, and she lives by the playground so we went to hang out there.  it was real chill, swinging and listening to music and stuff.  and when i got up and started walking, there was A BEE ON MY SHIRT.  so i screamed, and started wigging out, and of course brooklyn is like ‘girl chill’ (and tbh bees don’t scare me that much) anyways, this bee is still on my shirt, and im running around, and it’s still stuck on it.  and THAT my sweeties, is how i took my shirt off in a public playground.  NO WORRIES THO! there was no one around besides me and my bff, and she gave me her over shirt thingy before we left.  (also, it’s still difficult for me to wear that shirt.  it’s like i have PTSD)

i love the way she really delves into her emotions, even though everyone thinks she doesn’t really have any, you can really tell what she’s feeling through her eyes, and that’s hard to do when it’s on a screen and not written in a fanfiction

Brookie Pie

Brownie

100 g manteiga

100g chocolate amargo

3 ovos

2/3 xícara de farinha

1 xícara de açúcar

Sal

 Cookie dough

¼ xícara aka 50g de manteiga (temp. ambiente)

¼ xícara açúcar mascavo (peneirar)

¼ xícara açúcar

1 ovo grande

1 colher de chá de extrato de baunilha (opcional)

2/3 xícara de farinha

1/8 colher de chá de fermento

Sal

1/3 xícara de chocolate chips (amargo ou meio amargo)

 Instruções:

 Pré-aqueça o forno a 180ºC.

 Para o brownie:

Derreta a manteiga em fogo médio, desligue, derreta o chocolate.

Misture o açúcar

Bata os ovos com uma colher de pau

Misture a farinha e o sal

 Para o cookie:

Bata na mão a manteiga e os açúcares juntos, até que fiquem fofinhos e leves.

Adicione o ovo e a baunilha, misturando até que fique homogêneo.

Adicione a farinha, fermento e sal, misturando (folding) os ingredientes secos até formar a massa de cookie.

Adicione metade dos chocolate chips.

 Coloque a massa do brownie na forma e espalhe homogeneamente com uma espátula ou com o verso de uma colher de metal. Adicione em bolotas a massa do cookie no brownie. Salpique o restante dos chocolates chips.

 Asse por 25-35 minutos*, ou até que o cookie comece a dourar e as bordas comecem a desgrudar da forma. DO NOT OVERBAKE.

 *misturei outra receita de brownie, que pede 20-25 minutos, mas a do brookie originalmente fala em 30-35. Acho que deve ser mais pro 25 minutos mesmo.
