I've been really busy lately with my personal life and other social networks, so it was difficult for me to find the time and energy to get back active here on Tumblr, but here I am now! With a fresh new publication just in time before July arrives! And I bring my Broodals and my other Ocs to honor this month, I hope you like it!

Now thinking about it, I haven't drawn the Broodals, so I decided to draw em!

(I didn't really want to draw madame broode, she's ugly af)

So there's my version of the Broodals

Mario Characters as Batman Villains 45 - Broodals + Royal Flush Gang

For the last art for the second batch, the Royal Flush Gang is featured, using every member of the Broodals! Since there are five members in this group, the characters fit quite well into the mould. Featuring:

Madame Broode + Ace

Topper + King

Hariet + Queen

Spewart + Jack

Rango + Ten

Since Batman Beyond's portrayal of the Royal Flush Gang can be qualified as Batman villains, this is the version I am basing the entire team on. However, certain liberties are taken as to borrow from different teams. One such liberty is that Ace is basically the leader unlike several portrayals (including Beyond) where the King is the leader. Also, Rango as Ten throws spades-like projectiles, which comes from one version I do not remember. After all, Rango is considered masterful in his throwing of the hat so I think him throwing spades is fitting.

For the spade symbol that you see adorned on the Card Scooters and on the Ace clothing, it's basically how it looks on the Ace of Spades on Nintendo's playing cards, except it doesn't have the "N" in the symbol because the Mario playing cards that featured this suit doesn't have it.

This took a very long time to finish, no doubt because it involves more characters than before where each of them are important to the picture, unlike say, Il Piantissimo + Black Mask where the others aren't as prominent. Of course, having to use the ruler to deal with perspectives also contributed to the longer completion of this piece.

Here's hoping the end result looks good! Until then, the next batch of Mario Characters as Batman Villains would start at another time.

Madame Broode

Age: 55 Height: 14’9 Species: Moon Rabbit Gender: Cis Woman (She/Her) Orientation: Straight Facts: -The Broodals’ manager. None of them are actually related, but she treats them all like her own children nonetheless. I feel like they would all call her mama.  -She loves her Giant Gold Chain Chomp named Chain Chompikins. She and Iggy actually got quite along because of this.  Abilities: -Physical Abilities- Look at her and tell me she wouldn’t be able to rip you apart with just her bare hands. -Her Dog- It kills and maims you. 

Topper

Age: 46 Height: 5’6 Species: Moon Rabbit Gender: Nonbinary (He/She) Orientation: Lesbian Facts: -The leader of the Broodals. He acts as the spokesman/client relations person. I promise that they’re just wedding planners.  -Feel like he'd actually be pretty good at being a con-man. Like he isn't one but he's really good at being able to negotiate things to benefit himself way more.  -He's probably one of those “It's a dog-eat-dog world out there” guys but if the chips were really down, he'd go out of his way to protect the other Broodals cuz he cares about them deep down.  Abilities: -Hat Balancing- You never know when you need to wear a shit ton of hats in order to drop on and kill someone…Who said that?

Spewart

Age: 42 Height: 6’5 Species: Moon Rabbit Gender: Cis Male (He/Him) Orientation: Straight Facts: -Acts as the second-in-command of the Broodals.  -He takes care of the role of being the entertainer by spitting poison on people, you know, for weddings.  -Surprisingly has a secret artistic side when he spews out poison. You think he’s just throwing up for shits and giggles? -He seems Scottish to me Abilities: -Poison Spewing- The poison is just a trick he does, it's not even like a thing he was born with. He always has to drink poison before doing this shit. The Broodals don’t know why he does it but respect his dedication.

Hariet

Age: 23 Height: 5’10 Species: Moon Rabbit Gender: Trans Female (She/Her) Orientation: Bi Facts: -Is the person who does the pyrotechnics displays with straight up bombs. Oh come on, like how is this even remotely for a wedding anymore?  Abilities: -Bombs- A gal who’s a little crazy about inventing homemade bombs. She always has one in her arsenal no matter where she goes. Don’t worry though! She's always careful when handling them so it shouldn't be a big problem. Still frightening nonetheless…

Rango

Age: 50 Height: 6’11 Species: Moon Rabbit Gender: Trans Male (He/Him) Orientation: Gay Facts: -Is the bouncer…for weddings. Okay fine, you got me! Yeah, they kill people! -Plays a mean harmonica.  Abilities: -Hat Boomerang- He has secret spikes in his hat and he can throw them like a boomerang. Also fit with a trampoline in it. Sometimes a guy gets bored and needs a boost after killing someone.

What is your opinion on the Broodals?

I actually don't have much on the Broodals, so I wanted to sketch each of them. However, as I was drawing them I came up with headcannons so here are some of them:

Topper:

Topper is highly self-absorbed and a master gambler. He loves other's misery and loves it even more if it benefits him. Topper's favourite food is quiche and his favourite movie is The Great Gatsby. He doesn't bond much, if at all, with his siblings as they aren't of much help to him. He usually gets in trouble with sketchy people in the Casino but is always bailed out by Madame Broodal.

Spewart:

Spewart is what you'd call a giant man-baby; he stays at home on his backside all day, can barely do anything for himself, and relies on his mother spoiling him rotten to survive. He's quick to anger and throws violent tantrums until he gets what he wants. He reeks of mouldy food and wears the same sweaty clothes every day (he's perfectly capable of looking after himself but chooses not to as it is too mucn work). He is also a giant glutton and engulfs pretty much all the food in the house.

Hariet:

Like Topper, Hariet only cares about herself and manipulates everyone without guilt. She is always focused on her appearance and tries her hardest to look perfect. She is rarely in the house as she would rather stay anywhere else. She is a skilled fighter (primarly kick boxing) and uses this to her advantage by beating up others who don't comply with her commands. Hariet sometimes collaberates with Topper to get their hands on sketchy substances, like sedatives and psychoactives.

Rango:

Rango is the only approachable one out of the Broodals. He enjoys other's company and is very empathetic. He is always willing to help anyone in need and is a laid-back person. He despises the fact that he's related to his siblings and mostly lives at his friend's house, only coming to his family home occasionaly. He loves barbequed foods and reading romance novels. He himself is a hopeless romantic and adores giving advice about love.

Madame Broodal:

No one (including her own children) knows if Madame Broodal is just an ugly woman or an ugly man in drag. She believes that as long as she does whatever her children ask, she's a good parent. She either spends her time spoiling Spewart, lending money to Topper, or pampering herself with new clothes, make-up and accessories. She doesn't care much for Rango because he doesn't want the same things as his siblings; most of the time they just argue.

Ouuuh heah, our boy Roy's dayyy (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑ he is also celebrating the Koopalings and Broodal's Lair 1 year anniversary event!! Alongside Rango, eventhough he probably joined in the worst possible way!!

Today the theme is "Games", and a classic party game is trying to put the tail on the horse while blindfolded... I think Roy nailed it!! Also they're wearing their OG outfits this time because uhh I couldn't think of anyyy

Also I'm experimenting with a new way to draw backgrounds!! Basically I use a limited colour palette and very simple lines which I think would save me a lotta time especially with more complicated BGs, lemme know what you think ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ
