Heyo! The first chapter of this series is great. I just want to read bro7 + geeksquad all the time, it's so addicting. I love their friendship so much. Like you said their friendship is really a family unit and I love it. I wished I had bros like them! Except Jungkook who is a total jerk and brat. I can't wait to see the development that happens. At first it was like I know what he is I can't be fooled, yet I was still drawn into him like a moth to the flame. You wrote him so sweet and then bam! Oof just want to take care of the mc and smack Jungkook. Yoongi, Jin, Jennie, Joon, and Jimin are the best support squad. I just want the mc to grow, be loved, and for them to love themselves. Also love the little things that point out to your connecting Namjoon story like how Hobi and Yoongi become roommates. Truly fantastic, feel bad for Hobi though he gets scared so easy. Also the start of the Jimin flirting game. If only they knew haha. Also I think Jin was my favorite part really. He's really trying to make the mc feel comfortable and part of the group through his puns and pickup lines and he's just so sweet. Then there's the line about him being able to smell fear, shame, and insecurity has me laugh out loud for a bit. My feelings for Joon are still strong in this so it's going to be hard to see the mc paired with others. Except maybe Yoongi, you write him so well and when it gets to his parts I just can't handle it. Anyways thanks for writing and I can't wait to see how this one develops.

What if

This is my first Mystic Messenger writing. It is for a very special person that means incredibly much to me.

To my Saeran.

Saeran had been gone for a few days now. And still, Saeyoung sat in front of the last thing that was left of him - the notes his brother and he had written each other back and forth when Saeran was still uncomfortable with talking to him face to face - like his heart had been ripped out of his chest just moments ago.

So when MC came home to the bunker that day she found her boyfriend on his knees again, tears streaming down his cheeks. Immediately she dropped her bag and rushed to his side to embrace him. Sobbing into her chest he clinched to her arms like she was the only thing keeping him alive right now. Which might have been true.

“He’s really gone, MC. He’s gone and he might never come back” he managed to breath out and the deep sadness in his voice broke MC’s heart.

After Saeran had lived with them for a few weeks and recovered quite good he’d decided that he needed some time for himself and couldn’t be near Saeyoung all the time. He simply couldn’t stay, so he’d made his leave.

Ever since Saeyoung had been devastated.

“What if he’ll never come back?” he asked tonelessly and stared at MC with his eyes so empty and without any trace of their usual spark that it scared her.

“Saeyoung…”

“What if he’ll find out that he’s better off without me? That he doesn’t want me?”

Now he began to panic. What if these few weeks with his brother by his side were all he’d get? If all his talking about family and always being together would end up being lies after all? That would mean he’d let Saeran down once again, like he always did. With everyone.

As all these thoughts crushed down onto him he couldn’t control his breath anymore. He wanted to scream but he also wanted to curl up and be so quiet that no one would ever notice him again. What to do? What is the right thing to do?!

Seeing Saeyoung having a battle against his inner demons right in front of her eyes and losing it made MC hugging him close and stroking his hair until he breathed regularly again. If only she could help him further...

“I knew he was thinking about leaving” he whispered under his breath as soon as he calmed down enough to talk. “Yet I couldn’t stop him. What if it’s all my fault?” His grip around her tightened even more. He couldn’t lose her too.

“The others miss him too, you know?” he added, heartbroken over the fact that he truly had done wrong to everybody who had ever meant anything to him. “Yoosung keeps asking for him and worries if he’s okay every single day. And Zen… Zen and Saeran had a truly unique connection. I know that he misses him like crazy every time he's just thinking about the messenger. And even Jumin and Jaehee. They don’t really say it but I know that they care for him a whole lot too and that they’re worrying.” He drew back a little and looked straight into MC’s eyes, guilt written all over his face. “And you. I feel like I failed all of you. I’m the only one who could have prevented this from happening but I failed.”

Ashamed he buried his face in his hands. “I feel like I can’t do anything right” he confessed barely audible. Feeling tears wanting to crawl out of her eyes herself MC wrapped her arms around Saeyoung and hugged him close again.

“That’s not true…” she whispered, her voice shaking, but he didn’t listen to her at all and kept talking, completely lost in his self-destructive thoughts.

“Does he want me to reach out to him? Will he think I don’t care about him if I don’t? But what if he feels pressured if I contact him? The last thing I want is making him feel like I intent to urge him to come back to us against his will or do anything else he doesn’t want to do. But what if he’s waiting for me to say something? What if he feels abandoned and forgotten if I don’t?” the words bubbled out of him as he desperately tried to figure out what was true and what was not. He buried his face in MC’s hair and she felt his whole body trembling immensely.

“I don’t know what to do, MC. What if I do the wrong thing? What if I lose him forever?”

A single tear streamed down MC’s face as she comforted her love in her arms silently.

She didn’t know either.

They stayed like this without saying a word for a long time. Everything had been said and no one knew what else to do but finding comfort in each other’s presence. And even though no one said it, both of them knew it.

Even if Saeran would never come back, Saeyoung would never forget him.

I will never stop loving you.

Ugh this makes me so confused. Jungkook in this is such an ass but that ending he's not so bad. I'm so confused on how he acts ahhhh. I feel so bad for the mc. Even though he's a jerk right now he's looking after them because his friends matter to him which is sweet. I'm ready to learn what happened to him to make him act this way. And let me tell you I'm just not ready for everyone else's story either. So many feels for everyone already between this and Namjoons story. I'm tired and out of sorts bc this was my day yesterday:

bro6 and I went to walmart at 11am to pick up the tv, brought it home and spent some time setting it up and making sure it was talking to the internet properly

had cereal for lunch

bro7 stopped by around 1:30 to watch a movie and have bro6 look at his car, the prognosis wasn't great, he finally left around 4

bro6 spent far too long showing me dumb youtube videos on the big tv instead of starting the next movie we were going to watch

started it at 5:30, which meant we'd only have time for one instead of the two we had planned and would be cutting it close for the dirk gently premiere

movie ended at 7:20ish, giving us enough time to find a stream and make dinner before the premiere

but WAIT, dghda starts at NINE, not eight

sit on the floor in front of the tv eating while the bbca livestream buffers and glitches for an hour, growing increasingly worried about the possibility of missing it completely

try two more streams before giving up and signing up for a free trial of sling, which would at least ensure HD quality

SHOW FINALLY STARTS AND IT'S RAD

.... until the stream abruptly stops working 30 minutes in

spend 15 minutes refreshing the page, trying to get it to work again before giving up and waiting until it should have ended

trawl the internet for the next two hours searching for a crappy upload at the very least, find nothing

bro6 finally gives up and goes to his room to get ready for bed, only to text me a few minutes later to warn me that we had visitors on the way

???

apparently bro4 was in town and wanted to see our house since he... hadn't yet obviously, and was bringing bro7 back with him

AT 12:45 AM

they finally arrive around 1 and I give them a quick tour in an effort to get rid of them faster, but WAIT! BRO4 BROUGHT CARDS AGAINST HUMANITY WITH HIM

so of course, we had to play

you might be thinking, 'finn, why didn't you just go to bed anyway??' well my friend, that would be bc bro4 has one of the loudest normal talking voices I've ever heard, and that's before factoring in CAH-induced euphoria and the fact that our entire house is made of concrete

play that shit for a few hours before bro4 and 7 start getting ready to leave at 3am, I was already edging towards my room bc I was extremely tired and still annoyed about dghda at this point...

when I hear an odd noise against the front door

a sort of... pattering knock that sounded as if it was designed to freak us out

look around and realize no one else heard it, so I wait for a moment hoping I just imagined it.... but no! there it goes again!

STILL no one else heard it, so I casually edged over to bro6 in the kitchen (who is definitely the strongest of us in case anything went down) and told him what I heard just as it happened a THIRD TIME

everyone's heads swivel to the front door bc we were ALL hearing it now

it's silent for a moment as we contemplate what to do, gryffindor bro6 peeks out the window in the front door but claims he sees nothing, ends up jumping back in surprise when it happens a fourth time with him standing right there

ravenclaw bro4 starts reasoning out anything natural it could be: tree branches, rain, ANYTHING but a terrifying start to a horror movie

bro7 and I, slytherins through and through, stand well back and privately consider our courses of action in case this takes a bad turn

until all of bro4's babbling reminds me that the landlord put a sprinkler in the front yard (bc he was trying to grow more grass after the landscaping work he'd done right before we moved in)

IMMEDIATE relief, everyone runs to the door to confirm it and yep, there it is, spraying the entire yard, hitting the front door, and finally explaining why our front mat is always wet (and starting to get moldy tbh)

all feeling ridiculous and over-tired, bro4 and bro7 time their exit so they can avoid getting sprayed, and bro6 and I can finally head to bed for real around 3:45

(but not before I do another search for the dghda ep) (it's unsuccessful)

I woke up abruptly at 6:57am for no reason, decided to check my notifications just in case and discover a working link(!), watched the second half of the episode before passing out again, woke up for real around 10 and second guessed all my life decisions that led to me feeling crusty eyed and hungover even though I haven't touched a drop of alcohol in about a month
