You walked in into your chambers and noticed Crowned Cupcake Cookie standing at your window balcony, her back turned to you as she looked out at the nightly horizon, it was dark enough to obscure her mostly in shadow.!

You: “Crowned Cupcake? I..wasn’t expecting you to come visit me this hour. Blatantly anyway.”

Crowned Cupcake Cookie: “I’m so sorry, my dearest Y/N Cookie, but I simply couldn’t stand to be away from you for any longer…”

You: “What? You could visit me at any time, that hasn’t stopped you at all before..”

Crowned Cupcake Cookie: “No, you don’t understand. You were always ever so near, yet out of reach for me, silly. That’s what it’s perfect that I’ll finally be able to reach you soon..”

You: “I’m not getting what you’re saying. You’re right there and why are you just..standing there? You usually run at me when you see me…”

Crowned Cupcake Cookie(?): “Oh, I’m oh so sorry to be standing here, Y/N Cookie. Lemme just step into the room light, cutie patootie.”

Cutie patootie? You’ve..only ever known one Cookie who’s called you that before…

She didn’t even call you darling once…

You: “On second thought, you can just stand there-“

You reach for the door handle and realized it was stuck, which alerted whoever was approaching you.

Crowned Cupcake Cookie(?): “Aw, looks like you’re stuck in here with me…”

You turn back to face the other Cookie and was met with an all-too familiar face, wearing Crowned Cupcake’s outfit.

[Main Story]

On the airship, you quickly readied the incense you packed and took a deep breath, trying to calm your mind as soon as you could, but your hand started to shake as it tried to pull the fragrance away from you.

You: “Damn it, I knew better then to trust you…”

Shadow Milk Cookie: “Aw, why the long face~! You wanted help and you received!”

You: “Not like that, I thought you were just going to deal with those three for the sake of the games!”

Shadow Milk Cookie: “And I have! So what if they nearly destroyed each other~? It’s better than you being destroyed and we can’t have that now, do we~?”

You fought for control and pulled the scent to your face, taking another breath.

Shadow Milk Cookie: “You can cling to your smells all you want, it’s only a matter of time before it stops working, Y/N Cookie!”

You: “It’s better to be working now then working never.”

Shadow Milk Cookie: “You’ll be lost when that incense runs out! And when the time comes, which will be soon, I’ll REVEL in making your mind mine!”

You ignore his crazy ramblings as his voice slowly faded. You count your stars for Golden Osmanthus Cookie once again.

Dumpling Cookie: “Here they come.”

The airship lands on the platform as Cookies come to welcome you back, three in particular.

Crowned Cupcake Cookie: “Dear, I have returned from my trip and it pained me so much to see that you were gone too, but you’re here now and it’s okay!”

Salsa Cookie: “My sincerest apologies, Y/N Cookie. I would’ve been there to see you off if a certain advisor had informed me beforehand.”

Dumpling Cookie: “It was on short term notice, how about you stop training all the time so you could be there, ‘kay?”

Salsa Cookie: “What did you say?!”

You: “Girls….”

The two cookies stop their brief back and forth.

You: “Dumpling Cookie, your idea to head to the Flower City worked without a hitch, at least for now.”

Dumpling Cookie: “For now?”

You show the three the incense you collected.

Dumpling Cookie: “Golden Osmanthus Cookie, only she knows the methods to these scents.”

Crowned Cupcake Cookie: “She?”

Salsa Cookie: “Don’t you start. Who is she and how did she handle our problem here?”

You: “The incense helps calm the mind, which helps with my issues recently.”

Salsa Cookie: “I still think you should tell us what kind of issues you’re having, but if these are what helps with them, then alright.”

Crowned Cupcake Cookie: “As much as I hate hearing that you interacted with another girl, I’m happy to see you’re okay, darling…”

Dumpling Cookie: “I’ll pen down an arrangement with any Flower City caravans for future incense deliveries.”

You: “Thank you all. But, I feel like one thing needs to be made clear.”

The three cookies listen in to you.

You: “You’re to stop any Ancient Hero from convincing me to go to Beast-Yeast…”

You and Salsa Cookie observe the ticket placed on your windowsill.

You: “I don’t think I should do this.”

Salsa Cookie: “Same, give me that.”

Salsa Cookie grabbed the ticket and tore it to pieces before dumping them by the fire.

Salsa Cookie: “Done and done.”

You breathe a sigh of relief as you wipe your brow with your arm…before realizing you were holding another ticket.

You: “What-“

Tribute Day (Cookie Kingdom)

Y/N Cookie: “Yet again, it is Tribute Day. The time of the month where kingdoms and villages with their cookies send their gratitude and admiration with gifts.”

Dumpling Cookie: “You’ve grown a reputation across the land, Y/N. It’s not out of the norm that the cookies simply wish to give their thanks. It would be rude of us to decline them, they even just got here.”

You sighed in acceptance as you lay back in your throne.

Y/N Cookie: “Alright, alright. Let’s see the tributes this time, advisor.”

Dumpling turned back to her cohorts, Salsa and Crowned Cupcake, who proceeded to bring in the tributes.

Salsa Cookie: “The tribute of the Hollyberry Kingdom is 50 crates of juice, your Majesty. They had plenty during harvesting this year.”

Crowned Cupcake Cookie: “Darling, the Dark Cacao Kingdom has sent you 8 crates of weaponry! Sharpened and polished for the best possible cutting and stabbing!”

Dumpling Cookie: “The Golden Cheese Kingdom sends their tribute of 8 chests of gold and treasures.”

Y/N Cookie: “I can see which of the three is trying to win my favor…”

Salsa Cookie: “The Pure Vanilla Kingdom sent…bags of raisins. Hmph, talk about a tribute…”

Y/N Cookie: “Hey, Puré Vanilla stepped down as king, the PV Kingdom is for everyone there. I don’t care if they sent me dirt, the fact they even sent anything at all is surprising enough.”

Salsa Cookie: “You’re right, I’m..I’m sorry for speaking out of line, Y/N Cookie. I promise I’ll do better….”

Crowned Cupcake Cookie: “I’m sure you didn’t mean to be against my darling’s word. Because if you did, I might have to kill ya~”

Salsa Cookie: “Back up, you lunatic.”

Dumpling Cookie: “If you guys are going to kill each other, please do it outside so that it’s easier to clean. That would be great, thanks.”

Y/N Cookie: “Alright, alright. That’s enough, you three. Let’s see…a tribute from the Silver Kingdom?”

Salsa Cookie: “It’s a cart of plants that are native in that region. White Lily Cookie had figured it would look nice in the garden…”

Crowned Cupcake Cookie: “White Lily Cookie? You mean that impudent wretch trying to get at my darling? Ooo hoo hoo, silly mistake~”

Dumpling Cookie: “Do not start swinging that sword around.”

Salsa Cookie then reached into one of the potted plants and fished out a letter.

Salsa Cookie: “Is this…a love letter-CRUMBS!”

Salsa Cookie is spooked when a dagger is suddenly thrown at the letter she was holding, pinning it to the wall.

Crowned Cupcake Cookie: “My hand slipped.”

Salsa Cookie: “The hell is wrong with you, psycho?! You could’ve chopped my hand off!”

Dumpling Cookie: “Please stop shouting, you’re making a scene!”

Salsa Cookie: “I should have half a mind to chop your head off right now!”

Crowned Cupcake Cookie: “You wanna go, tough cookie?”

Y/N Cookie: “Maybe I should’ve invited Financier to do tributes this time…”

“Well, just let me know if the medicine I gave you isn’t giving you the desired effects. R-Remember, medicine may be sour, but it can also be sweet!”

Bitter Candy Cookie tried to lift up your spirits with her optimistic tone, but it was clear that she wasn’t confident in saying them. She sheepishly giggled before leaving the room and closing the door. Dumpling Cookie was waiting on her, leaning on the wall next to the door as she adjusts her glasses.

Bitter Candy Cookie sighed as she took her medical helmet off, brushing her sour belt hair.

“I’ve tried plenty of medicine, but nothing seems to be working to cure the sweating or the tiredness. They look like they’re sleeping well and their chambers are at normal temperature, it’s a real headache…”

“I see…you can run back to the infirmary. I’ll take it from here, ‘kay?.”

“Okay, but you better let me know if their condition gets worse or anything. It’s my job to heal!”

“Please make your way out…”

Bitter Candy walked down the hallway and out of sight, Dumpling standing up from the wall.

“I know you were listening, general. You can come out now…”

Salsa Cookie popped around the corner from a nearby hallway.

“Skip the formalities, Dumpling. I’ve heard it all, it’s making me worried for our majesty’s condition.”

“It goes without saying. Ever since they came back from Beast-Yeast by blueberry birds, their condition has been…flaring up. I don’t want to say it’s getting worse, rather..more frequent..”

“This can’t be a coincidence. This is happening every time they come back from their trips to the Ancient Heroes lately! Don’t you think they might have something to do with this?”

“We can’t assume that, but we can’t rule out that this is just any ordinary fever either-“

“This “sickness” gets worse every time they go with them and now I’m hearing them mumble to themself and the frequent visits to Chamomile Cookie?” Something isn’t right here…”

“I have my own thoughts, but I’ll need more time to gather them before making conclusions.”

“So what do we do? Let them rot in their chambers until the next Ancient Hero comes busting down our castle doors?!”

“No, what they need…is a break. To get away from all this. We can manage through kingdom while they’re away…”

“Y/N leaving the kingdom was the whole reason they’re like this!”

“No, not just anywhere, but a place I’ve visited a while ago. The Flower City…”

Dumpling Cookie opened the door to your chambers, she could see the medicine and therapist papers scattered about on your table. One bottle was meant to help have good night dreams, so it subtly shocked her to see that the bottle was empty.

“Y/N?”

You turned your body in bed to face her, Dumpling’s eyes widen to see your tired state. It wasn’t a sleep related tiredness, but rather..it felt like your soul was tired…Dumpling’s tone took on a more gentle and soft tone.

“Me and Salsa Cookie were talking about your condition…”

“I know, it’s becoming a bad habit lately, I’ve tried many things like medicine or sleeping during the day. I just feel..stuck.”

“Well, I might have something to help with that. I know a place that I’ve visited a whole back, the Flower City of the Fluffy Rice Cake Continent…”

“Oh right…you told me about that place before…”

“Yes, and I do believe that it might help with what ails you…”

“I can’t. I’ve been leaving the kingdom too often lately, I need to stay and tend to my kingly/queenly duties…”

“Me, Crowned, and Salsa will handle the kingdom in your stead again. Please, at least give it a shot…we will explain things to the others if they ask…”

Dumpling went to gently hold your hand in the bed, as she gave you a pleading look. You look around your room, seeing the state it was in.

Then you look at yourself…so enclosed, so withdrawn into your sheets…

No…

You were not going to let them win….

With a determined look, you sit up from your bed and take off the sheets.

“Maybe you’re right. A change of scenery from Crispía might be what I need to feeling better again…”

And just like that, you were ready to hop on the airship to the Flower City. Picking up your bag of things, you made your way to port, looking down at the ground as you reflect…

“There’s nowhere you can hide, cookie….”

Of course….you can slightly see her snake slitted eyes out of the corner of yours…

“Put as much distance between yourself and us, it doesn’t change anything. Completely futile…”

“YOOHOOO! Trying to get away from me, you silly~? I happen to be quite the patient one, y’know! Especially with you~!”

And then there was two…it’s only a matter of time before…

“Ha! Squirm all you like, Y/N Cookie, it’s only a matter of time before you’re broken~ I will revel the day I get you on your knees~!”

You felt their hands crawling on your back….her voice was sounding right behind you.

“You will always be..ours…”

“…..I know..…”

“Wait, really? It was that easy-“

“But we’ll see about that.”

You mustered up an air of your previous confidence. Something you haven’t felt in a while…

You didn’t feel the hands anymore.

You didn’t see the eyes anymore either. Their presence just wasn’t felt anymore as you approach the airship.

“Good afternoon, passenger! Are you joining us on this flight? It’s heading for the Flower City on the Fluffy Rice Cake Continent!”

“Yes, I have my ticket here!”

“Hmm..okay! Everything looks accordingly! Please take your seat, we’ll be taking off very soon!”

“Thank a bunch.”

You hopped aboard and sat down, instinct telling you to look out the window to watch the land around you. Sunny day, generous foliage, petals falling to the ground by the wind.

Peaceful…just like how you wished you could go back to being….

“Excuse me!”

You were snapped out of your thoughts to turn to your left, towards the aisle between both sides of the ship.

“Are you heading into the Flower City too?”

“Yup, going there for a brief getaway. Stress from life and all.”

“Stress? Don’t worry, maybe my incense can help?”

“Incense?”

The cookie brought her incense lamp out and gently lights it up, allowing the sweet aroma to flow.

“Ah, it’s a pretty lovely smell, I can tell you that! It’s…actually chipping away at my stress a bit.”

“Ehehe, scents can hold great power! Able to relax even the most stressed out of cookies!”

“Yeah, thank you. I needed that.”

“Since this is your first time to Flower City, I’d be happy to show you around!”

“Oh, there’s no need to do that. I brought a map of the continent-“

“It’s outdated, I know the city and I’m okay going with you!”

The ship intercom came on, halting the cookie’s talk with you.

“Attention, passengers. This is your captain speaking, the airship to the Flower City will be departing shortly! Please take your seats!”

“Oh! I almost forgot to take my seat. Please, if you don’t mind!”

The cookie went to sit down next to you in your seat!

Wasn’t she planning on going to another seat?!

Y/n, sitting in their castle: oh how I love not paying taxes!

Dumpling: y/n...you rule the kingdom...you ARE the taxes!

Y/n: ....oh.

*later, y/n runs out into the kingdom.*

Y/n: EVERYONE, GIVE ME YOUR MONEY!

Cookie Kingdom Merchant: “But, your Majesty. You already took our taxes last week! Taking them now means we may not have enough for the winter months!”

Y/N Cookie: “Is that defiance I hear from you?”

Dumpling Cookie: “You’re overdue on paying them…just now.”

Salsa Cookie: “I won’t tolerate late payers in the citadel, either pay up now or we ransack this stand of yours looking for it!”

Cookie Kingdom Merchant: “N-No need! I’ll go get it!”

The merchant tosses the group a bag of coins. Salsa Cookie catches it and hands it to you.

Y/N Cookie: “I knew you wouldn’t be reckless to deny me. Hmm, I’d say this is an expected amount. Here, don’t spend it all in one place.”

You flick back some coins at the merchant, who accepts them immediately.

Cookie Kingdom Merchant: “T-Thank you, your Majesty. Truly, your generosity is unparalleled!”

Y/N Cookie: “To the next stand! Money is to be made!”

Since Y/N Cookie uses Golden Osmanthus' incense to relax when needed, doesn't that mean she technically is their dealer?

Y/N: You got the stuff?

Golden Osmanthus: Hm-mm. Right here. *Shows a lotta incenses*

Y/N: Aww yeah, that's the good stuff

Caravan Leader Cookie: “Is this the spot they told to meet us in? Looks empty to me, and we’re not too far away from the Cookie Kingdom by the looks of it.”

Golden Osmanthus Cookie: “I’m certain of it. I was called by Y/N Cookie the other day for a large order of my incense. They told me it was to help aid for relaxation of the mind, but they..wouldn’t tell me what was causing stress on them though…”

Caravan Leader Cookie: “Hm, I see…hold on, something’s coming.”

The two cookies turn their attention to an incoming armored carriage heading right for them. It stops just a few feet away from the two cookies.

The doors open and two Cookie Kingdom Crossbowman step out first, weapons at the ready. They get a look at Golden Osmanthus and the Caravan Leader Cookie for a moment before turning their heads to each other and nodding. One turns back to the carriage and does a hand motion for the occupants to come out.

Golden Osmanthus Cookie: “Y/N Cookie…”

Out came three cookies, one looked sophisticated with her outfit, glasses and notebook. Another looked more hardened, equipped with armor and wielding a red blade.

The third cookie between of the two was all too familiar, wearing a cloak and hood to mask their appearance.

Golden Osmanthus and the Caravan Leader approach just as the other group was, meeting in the middle. The figure in the middle pulls down their hood, revealing to be Y/N Cookie.

Y/N Cookie: “Golden Osmanthus Cookie, it’s been a while. Is that the incense I requested?”

Golden Osmanthus Cookie: “Yes, I’ve made sure to prepare the amount that you’ve asked for.”

The both of you shared a hug first before Golden Osmanthus opened up the bag that she was holding, revealing the contents to be full of incense. You take a whiff close to the bag and sigh in content.

Y/N Cookie: “This headache is already feeling better. Dumpling, the coins.”

Dumpling Cookie: “Yes, your Majesty.”

Dumpling Cookie takes a suitcase from Salsa Cookie and approached the two cookies, pulling it up and opening it to reveal it to be full of coins.

Dumpling Cookie: “Your promised coins, with interest. Don’t spend it all in one place, ‘kay?”

Dumpling closes the suitcase and handed it to Golden Osmanthus, who yelped at the weight of it at first. Dumpling takes the bag and goes to hand it to you.

Golden Osmanthus Cookie: “Although, you never did tell me what these are for. I understand that you like them, but this many?”

Y/N Cookie: “Trust me…”

You turned to look at Golden Osmanthus for a second, your eyes briefly glowing blue for a moment.

Y/N Cookie: “These will be needed, you silly~”

Spooky Cookie Tales - Endless Winter

Not really spooky.

You wanted to keep looking at the ground, sitting in your throne as you had your hands together. You didn’t want to look up at the whole room, you didn’t want to look at the potential eyes looking back at you…

Frozen over…

The winter rages outside, the howling wind blowing that serves as the only sound that accompanies you as specks of snow creeped in from any gap they could find from the frames.

The throne room only illuminated by the light of the sky outside, your torches long since gone out. You have no need for them anymore, the winter will long outlive them…

Like it outlived your Cookies, frozen into ice as they populate your throne room. They didn’t want to stay in their homes, which have frozen over.

They wanted to prepare for the winter night with you.

Their final night with you…

“Come on, don’t say that! I only wanted to see your potential grow! I didn’t want it to go to waste!”

“Dumpling!”

She removed her glasses as she weakly lifted her hand to gently hold yours…giving you the largest, yet still faint smile she’s ever given.

“Let’s….see each other…again, ‘kay….?

You held back your tears to croak out your brief words…

You didn’t even care to acknowledge the two figures in the room, watching you from the sides of your throne.

Not even when one of them walked up to place a hand on your shoulder…

Yeah, it fits to a T, with the slight change of Crowned Cupcake believing she’s already the one for you and will STOMP ANYONE INTO CRUMBS WHO GETS IN HER WAY-

What? What did the Cookie Kingdom do? Don’t tell me that Burning Spice Cookie will be coming for your kingdom once he’s finished with Golden Cheese Cookie.

Through a cookie’s binoculars, they could see the grand mass of the Spice Swarm slowly make their way through the forests and plains, right towards the Cookie Kingdom. The cookie tsks as they put down the binoculars, the cookies around them looking towards their comrade.

Cookie Kingdom Infantryman: “Is it them?”

Cookie Kingdom Crossbowman: “Without a doubt, raise the alarm. Inform Commander Salsa Cookie. The Spice Swarm is here…

…

Y/N Cookie: “They’re here already? Burning Spice Cookie must want that Soul Jam pretty badly. Prepare the cookies to defend the kingdom, I’ll join you at the gates.”

C.K. Mage: “Right away, Your Majesty.”

The mage leaves as you went into your room, to see a bruised and weakened Golden Cheese Cookie. She looked at you worried, she had overheard your conversation with your soldier.

Golden Cheese Cookie: “He’s here for my Soul Jam. Please, no matter what, you cannot let him take it…”

Y/N Cookie: “He’s not making it through the gates. We’re putting a stop to his advance here. We have to…”

Suddenly, the loud call of a horn is heard outside that spooks the both of you.

Burning Spice Cookie: “Y/N Cookie of the Cookie Kingdom. I know you’re keeping what is rightfully mine in there! Leave your castle and face me!”

Y/N Cookie: “I have to go. Please stay here.”

Golden Cheese Cookie: “Please, be careful….”

Y/N Cookie: “I will, I’ll do my best to come back in one piece….”

You close the door and make your way to the front wall of the kingdom, where your troops as well as Salsa Cookie and Crowned Cupcake Cookie were waiting.

Salsa Cookie: “She’s deranged, but we’re going to need all the strength we can get for this. I’ve heard those Beast Cookies are not easy opponents to defeat.”

Y/N Cookie: “Fine, but leave the talking to me. It’s me and the Soul Jam he wants, do not put yourselves in any unnecessary danger…”

You leap down to the ground and walk forwards, whereas Burning Spice was doing the same until you meet in the middle.

Burning Spice Cookie: “Finally, we meet….”

Made a silly sketch of dumpling cookie ><

I had a bit of a struggle in translating her design into a more human-ish look- but I had fun doing this piece!

Literally drew the Mona Lisa alongside Dumpling’s normal Cookie appearance.

This is easily a top tier work and I appreciate it beyond all that you took the time to sketch up one of my cookie characters! I’d say you did a pretty good job translating her look to be more human!

Made a sketch of Salsa Cookie! With a few personal touches-

Definitely messy, especially for her hair and headpiece! But she was another fun piece to do^^

Just as wonderful as previously with Dumpling Cookie, the liberties you took i don’t mind at all, it came out looking great!

Salsa Cookie may come across as a bit prickly and short tempered, but it all comes down to her just really caring about the Cookie Kingdom and Y/N Cookie overall, she’d wouldn’t know how to cope if things fell apart under her watch.
