Finally got round to catching #Bumblebee at the #ShowcaseCinemas (@showcasecinemasuk) before it left cinemas. Really enjoyed it! An action packed opener sets the film up nicely, and I liked the set up of #HaileeSteinfeld's Charlie Watson character as to how she finds Bumblebee, as develops their friendship too. The other main supporting characters I thought did a good job too, #JorgeLendeborgJr's awkward Memo, even #JohnCena's Agent Burns, who was a little bit more than just your one dimensional token military leader that wants to destroy them all, and Charlie's family wasn't too much of a dysfunctional family either, but all came together good in the end! The soundtrack is very 80s, which was a bonus, and some cool choice cuts as well, although not sure of the obsession with #TheSmiths, although I'm sure Morrissey would approve 😋 There's still lots of carnage with Bumblebee battling the #Decepticons and the military, but there's a bit more warmth, humour and empathy too. Much like director #TravisKnight's previous film, the excellent Kubo and the Two Strings. The second of Michael Bay's #Transformers movies was enough to put me off the rest of the series, but if they follow in the same vein as this one, then I'd gladly watch the next one.
