What in-jokes do they have with each other?

On the island, they for sure have jokes about California, or the Bay, or their high school, that nobody else understands. Leah jokes about starting a sixth composting club here (their high school has five of them already) and Fatin about dies laughing. (”What’s so funny,” Dot whispers to Toni. “Sorry, I don’t speak Californian, I’ve no clue,” Toni replies.)

Are they the “I’ll pay this time if you pay next time”-type friends, or the “I’ll pay for my food and you’ll pay for yours”-type friends?

First option, but they don’t care all that much if one of them ends up paying twice in a row or something.

Who’s more prone to pranking, or otherwise messing with, the other?

I don’t think they really do pranks. Though Fatin will sometimes mess with Leah... she gets riled up so easily.

How do they text/message each other? Proper punctuation and capital letters, egregious overuse of emojis, mostly in meme format…?

God they text SO MUCH. Entire conversations happen entirely over texts, novel-lengths messages, strings of reaction emojis. Leah likes to write, okay. And Fatin finds it easier sometimes to be vulnerable over texts, rather than in person.

Do they exchange jokey birthday presents, or deeply thought-out and meaningful presents? Or both?

Leah is usually the deeply though-out type, but because Fatin does a lot of jokey gifts, they get stuck in hilarious cycles of “who can find the funniest/weirdest/most embarrassing present”. Fatin for sure buys Leah a vibrator at one point or another.  

They go on a road trip together. Who drives, who picks the music, who’s in charge of snacks?

They both drive. They both alternate picking the music, and fucking hate whatever the other chooses. Leah forgets the snacks, even though she was in charge, so an exasperated Fatin has to stop at a gas station and buy stuff, and then she probably makes Leah grovel for each individual chip she graciously allows her to eat. 

What do they think of each other’s family?

Fatin thinks Leah’s parents are fine. Not great, but fine. She loves Leah’s dog though! Leah has very strong feelings about Fatin’s parents, especially her dad. She’s not particularly shy about voicing them either.

Do they have any nicknames for each other?

I GUESS CUNT IN CANON, RIP. “Cunt” (honorific). 

Fatin definitely calls Leah an ever-changing list of stuff, from simple pet names like “babe” to grandiloquent expressions like “love of my life” or “Object Of My Affection” (that’s when Fatin has a big favor to ask) to flirty nicknames like “Hot Stuff” when she’s in a playful mood. Once Fatin calls her “Beautiful” without thinking. They don’t talk about it.

Leah calls Fatin “Don Juan” and “Casanova” when she brags about her long list of conquest. Is there a hint of jealousy in there? Who knows. Not Leah, that’s for sure.

Who’d be the first to try and patch things up if they had a fight?

Fatin! Leah’s working on it, but usually Fatin is quicker to let go of her anger and try to patch things up. They both apologize, though. 

One of their phones goes off in the middle of the night. Who’s calling whom, and why?

If Leah calls in the middle of the night it’s most likely an emergency. Or at least a “please stay with me on the line I’m having a bad time”. 

What’s their favourite funny story about something that happened to the two of them?

I know they’re gonna joke about that dramatic fight on the beach. Fatin smearing her blood on Leah’s face. Leah just. getting naked right here and there in front of everyone’s salad. I KNOW they make fun of each other for it now :”)

Would they do a joint cosplay? If so, who would they dress up as?

Rarely, because they can’t agree on anything. All of Leah’s ideas involve dressing up as famous long-dead writers, and Fatin would rather die a very painful death. Does the “Get Along Shirt” Dot buys for them count? 

Do they have any TV shows that they watch together? Are there any shows they have wildly different opinions on?

They watch documentaries on Netflix, Fatin gets surprisingly into it. Also, they both love the Great British Bake-Off, it’s the perfect show to watch when they’re having a hard time or need to relax and not think about anything stressful. ALSO it allows them to live vicariously, as they are both terrible bakers. 

Which one is the “fight me” friend and which one is the one who tries to keep the peace and prevent their friend from punching a total stranger?

Leah is the “fight me” friend... Fatin tries to keep the peace. 

One of them comes up with an ill-advised but mostly harmless idea. Does the other one egg them on because they think it’ll be funny, or try and talk them out of it?

Leah comes up with the bad ideas, Fatin always tries to talk her out of it, and mostly succeeds. If talking doesn’t work, because Leah is a stubborn one, Fatin will not hesitate to use more physical means of persuasion. (”Please get off my back, I can’t breathe.” “Not until you promise you won’t go following Shelby in the woods again.” “...” “That’s what I thought. Get comfortable.”)

Who would win if they arm-wrestled?

Hmmmm I actually think Leah might win this one.

Who’s better at what type of video games, and how competitive are they when they play together?

Leah’s probably better in general. She used to play with Ian a lot. They’re actually not too competitive with each other, less than with other people.

One of them ends up in hospital for something serious but not life-threatening. What does the other bring along when they visit in order to cheer them up?

Leah brings her an old walkman that she found in her parents’ basement, and a mixtape she made herself - a mix of classical pieces for cello that she knows Fatin enjoys, and some songs that remind Leah of her. It’s very sweet, and it makes Fatin feel less lonely outside of visiting hours.

How huggy are they?

So. Many. Hugs. Touch really is one of their main love languages with each other. 

What was the moment when they first realized that they’d become friends?

The scene at the end of episode 5, when they both apologize and talk and hug it out <3

here she is folks , the character i thought i wasn’t going to bring here make but then did anyway !

this here is myriam - - woman of mystery. she doesn’t have a surname ( or at least not one that her mother told her of - - and in braavos she definitely didn’t have need of one )

she was born the daughter of an famous ( and extremely wealthy ) braavosi courtesan, who assumed the moniker of THE ROSEFINCH.

it was made clear to myriam from a young age that one day she would inherit this name , or one of her own & follow in her mother’s footsteps. in truth, it wasn’t something that she was incredibly opposed to, as she & her mother lived in extreme comfort and her mother was actually rather revered in certain circles. of course - - there were the more unsavory aspects of being a courtesan , but they felt more like a fact of life. a trade off. still , she developed a keen distrust for men. she saw them treat her mother ( and eventually herself ) with contempt and cruelty before turning around with words of adoration.

she was groomed for the job EARLY on. education and refinement took extreme precedence in her life. she didn’t really have time to be a child ?? she was too busy ‘bettering’ herself. this kind of turned her into a lil bitter bean tbh. she had a good head for facts & figures , and a particular interest in the more financial side of her mother’s ‘business.’

by the time she was old enough ( i don’t wanna talk about how young or old that was because ages in the asoiaf / got world are so gross okay. ) she was put to work. since her mom was still kicking it and unready to retire, myriam opted for the pseudonym THE STARLING.

she was just as big of a success as her mother. her ability to charm & woo others was unrivaled , and her wit & general savvy made her incredibly sought after. she took full advantage of this, using it as a means of building wealth. though born into the life, myriam had no real desire to remain a courtesan forever.

during her time working, myriam discovered that she had a pretty keen ability to work her undeniable charm to weasel information out of people. it was the literal definition of pillow talk.

but life in braavos wasn’t always kind, and she felt tired, bitter, and lacking a great purpose. 

eventually , having built quite the fortune for herself & seeing her mother safely  retired , she began to hatch a plan. utilizing connections she had made with various westerosi lords in her years as the starling, myriam crossed the narrow sea and made a permanent move to westeros. she used those same connections to serve as a third party with which to buy several pieces of property. though she had given up ( for the most part ) the life of a courtesan , it was difficult to stray too far from her roots. myriam became the madame of several of king’s landing’s finest brothels. while looking at it as a great commodity , she wanted the girls of those establishments to be better treated by the men who had owned them before.

myriam began to employ her ability for intelligence gathering within her business. her girls began to collect tidbits of information and bring them to her. she, bold as she was , would then approach the crown with what she deemed pertinent and be paid for this information. ( her business model is literally a mix between varys & baelish )

realizing she could utilize this on a larger scale , she began to expand her influence by buying up establishments in other parts of the realm & employing her most trusted girls to help run them. ( honestly? an icon )

then !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the crown got a lil tired of just paying for the information whenever myriam thought to give it , especially because she was incredibly expensive, and offered her an honorific title and a position as the mistress of whispers. so , she’s known frequently as lady myriam and is an extremely effective member of the small council. i love her so much.

extreme fear of vulnerability & a lot of repressed trauma that she struggles to deal with and is emphasized by the fact that she very much exists alone. 

she’s become rather disillusioned with westeros and how petty and foolish it can seem at times, but she’s bound by her duty to the crown ( and values her head more than she wants to go home )

she still offers up her personal services occasionally, if she thinks that there is an opportunity available in doing so. 

if you think of the best parts of varys and the ,,,,,,,,, not shitty parts of petyr baelish, you might get an idea of how she conducts business.
