EAC 3 - November 3 - 5

What a weekend y'all....

What a travel, firstly. I took the eurostar from Schiphol or Charles de Gaule. I had orginially planned to meet up with @sihtricfedaraaahvicius, but it was soo busy we could not move from our assigned seats. We met once we left the train and crossed the airport in search of a bus that would bring us to the hotel, which we did not find. So instead she ordered us an uber-ish ride, which also was half an adventure.

But we got to the hotel in the end and we had a full welcome commity waiting for us. It was so good reuniting with all the people I met in the Nowalls discord and grew close with after Dortmund. It was like coming home to so many loved ones. I also met a great many new friends and took many of them into my heart.

I received a few wonderful gifts from my friends.

After settling into the hotel, we went to the mall with a group, which was rather chaotic. We had lunch there and I found a Thestral figurine.

Once back from the mall we hung out at the hotel for a while and I changed into my 'party' clothes; white jeans, white tank, hard rock london shirt and black thin cardigan. I looked good, NGL.

While waiting in line for the cocktail party, I met Lucile, who is now my bestie. We supported each other through our nerves and when I felt a litlte faint. This was mostly because I hadn't eaten or drank enough. After two glasses of cola, I was most certainly feeling more perky.

First at our table [us being Rike, Gemma, Lucile and I and later Carlotta also] was Jacob. Young man was carrying a cup of tea, going 'how British am I, I brought tea to a champain party.' which was too cute. I tried to guess it was fennel tea, to which he said he wished it was fennel, but it was mint. I told him my late granddad was also named Jacob and showed off my newest tattoo. Jacob liked the tat a lot.

Second was Tim and I am still not used to that thin ear ring. It suits him, but somehow still surprises me when I see it, every time. He asked us about halloween and I want to ask him about Fallen, but the convo did not go that way.

I am not sure of the order after this, so bear with me as I sort of wing it.

Stefanie was 'omg you have Eadith hair' right away and I was very awkward about taking the compliment on my hair, even though I am quite confident about my hair.

Eliza started about halloween, but it meandered and she ended up spotting my tattoos. My hands were admired and she was like 'Arnas is gona scream the moment he sees these' and she was not wrong...

James decided he wanted to ask us a question and he asked us what film had most influence on our lives. I of course said Harry Potter. The Wizarding world has absolutely been formative for my passion for stories in all forms. James defo loved that answer.

Christian talked mainly with my friends, demonstrating his talent for languages. I couldn't help getting lost in those beautiful blue eyes, though.

I don't remember what Ossian talked about, I just remember that he came in for a hug right away.

Harry talked about his appearance on Nowalls' first live show, which was a good little laugh. He also remarked on how the cocktail party felt much more posh than it actually was.

Mark greeted me with 'your hair has grown' which made me feel some type of way. I mean, this man remembers enough of me to recall an approximation of my hair length. We then talked about his moustache and how most of us really disliked it.

Last to our table was Arnas and he came in loud. I scolded him for it and he went on a whole spiel about how he still had all the gifts I had given him and how he kept it all on his nighstand and that I was too hard on him. He took a good look at my tats and said mine looked so much better than his on the show, which is of course absolute nonsense, but I appreciate the effort. He comlained about missing the eurostar, because he missed the boarding time. I asked himif he had checked his ticked for the boarding time, which of course he said he hadn't, like a true ADHD man. When he made to leave, I pulled out my rings to put them back on and this absolute man holds out his hands (only later I realised the missed opportunity for me to put a ring on this guy and forever joke about him being my fiance). I go 'Excuse!?!' and he sasses me back with 'wat wil je?'

There was a group photo after that and we were ushered out to await the werewolf games.

Werewolves was an invaritable mess.

I was in a village with Mark, James, Jacob and a reasonable measure of my friends. Barely anyone had ever played the game and the GM was very basic in the story telling.

I had quite a good back and forth with James before the game got started and he was pretty down for having me GM, but I knew that would not be in the cards. No, in the cards for me was the Witch.

We first got a round of introducing our 'characters' and then it was right off to the first night. Cupid matched my friend Angela with Mark, completely at random, but Angela suspected it was me. The werewolves were allowed a victim right after, which happened to be me. I resurrected myself with my potion and the day started. Mark had the bright idea of all putting their hand down and raise your hand if you are a villager. My autism needs computing time, so I was of course the last to raise my hand and I was once more set to die.

I got to spectate the rest of the game. It was quite a mess and Mark ended up either fogetting he was matched with Angela, or going into his role too deep, because he decided to off her and then he had to go too, because the lovers cannot continue the game if one of them dies. Mark and James were the werewolves and James ended up surviving the whole game on his own and thus winning.

We had some time after that and ended up playing word chain for a good while, until we took another group photo and I rough housed with Angela and Jacob a little bit.

After the games there was a viewing of SKMD, but I was very tired, so Mary and I headed to her friend's flat. The friend was not home that night, so we could get some fangirling in before sleep.

We got up early in the morning, because I had to be in time for the selfie lounge.

I had the selfie lounge with everyone's favourite Sihtric-fic writer. So we waited together and once admitted sat on the last chairs of the first line of chairs. It looked like an AA meeting at first, but once the guests came in, it was more like a fashion runway. Especially Arnas enjoyed showing off.

@sihtricfedaraaahvicius and I stuck together and we even got a selfie with the both of us and Eliza and with James, which was very sweet.

I noticed that most of the guests had to be sort of directed towards us, because we sort of stayed on one side of the room. I am not the person to just accost the guests for a picture.

We got pics with all the guests, but I did not get to the plans I had. No due selfie with Arnas and no Sihtric + Sigtryggr for my friend. I'm sorry bestie. We also both got an Eys hug, which was adorable.

Arnas was the before last to come to us. He had a good back and forth with my friend, but to me he said 'our lives are so intertwined now' and that is genuinly all I recall he said to be in the Selfie Lounge. The sentence most certainly had a running up, but I can't recall it.

My friend said, once we left the Lounge that Arnas enjoys getting a rise out of me. Gee thanks, Guy...

After the opening ceremony, I lined up for the photo op with James.

I left it up to James to make up a pose and he decided he wanted to pretend to take a pic of me, which turned out cute as much as imaginative. Another friend says it looks like he is using the force on me instead, which is also a fun interperation.

I felt very at ease around James, not at all nervous. He is so sweet and kind.

Secondly I had the photo op with Stefanie. We did s simple, sweet hug and I quite like the pic. Stefanie is so wonderful and sweet and I can't wait to see her again. Hopefully next year!

And then I had Arnas' Photo OP...

I still had some nerves about him, so I came up to him a bit tense. 'Oh we're going for nervous, are we' he told me and I just could not let him tease me, so I tried to pull him over.

And he went with it, giving me some pressure in return even.

And then came my moment, the individual meeting with Arnas.

Good gods, this man. He asked about my daughter and what her thing was now. We had a small confusion about miffy/nijntje until I indicated the bracelet I had given him in Dortmund, that is when the dime dropped. It really warmed my heart when he asked about her.

I gave him his giftbag and we just spent the five minutes calmly going through it, along with some small talk. He loved the Jellycat plush, proclaiming he'd take it everywhere and wanted some weed to go with the donuts I brought him. So next year we are bring him edibles.

He was also ravingly enthusiastic about the scribble-drawing Fayen made him and even took a selfie with it. I have yet to recieve it though, hoping he did not forget, Don Chaot!

Then it was time for me to get some autographs and first was Stefanie. She is just such a lovely person to talk to. She gave me a sweet hug and even asked me to sign the rose photo and Nowallsona pics I brought her. I hope she'll return next year because I soooo wana talk to her and hug her again. (Woman Crush Wednesday fo sho!)

I went to Eliza next and that woman is an absolute queen. She said that I attract people to me with my sweet and warm personality and that meant so much to me. She also gave me the sweetest hug and I swear I fell in love a teensy tiny bit with the woman, because Gods she is just everyone's hype woman and I feel that on a spiritual level!

Then I went to James and he sort of got me stumped, and I don't know how, guess I was hit with his awesomeness all of a sudden.

I got a big hug and he wanted me to sign my rose photo for him and he was just so sweet and there were too many things I had wanted to ask him, but I forgot all of them, because he is just too sweet and kind.

Next I went to Timothy, who looked like he was about done with his day. I asked him if he was okay and he admitted to having had a coughing fit a few minutes before. We talked a tiny bit and he gave me a sweet hug.

I saved Arnas for last that day and my Gods was I not disappointed by what he gave me. I told him he would hate me for what I was going to ask of him, but he was such a good sport about it, telling me knew what this is for. He did his very best and I am actually so enamoured with his handwriting. I adore it.

He gave me a big hug as well and that was a good end of the day.

The next day I had the Marnas shoot I had purchased the day before, first.

I told Mark they had artisic liberty/liscene and they set to work right away. Mark grabbed my pendant, yelling that I was not a real Dane and Arnas jumped right in, knowing that I am indeed a mostly Norse leaning Pagan. That was a lovely little nod to what I had told him in Dortmund, which warmed my heart as well.

Swiftly afterwards I had my OP with Mark and I asked him for a big squeeze. And let me tell you, this man has made up for his loosey goosey hug from Dortmund ten times over. What a squeeze, I adored it!

The photographer had to tell me to lower my shoulder for some reason, but hey, the photo is defo one of my best so far. I am not at all nervous around Mark anymore, after having scolded him, haha.

I had myself a double with Arnas, because I could not choose if I wanted something sweet or something bookspo, so I got myself an extra OP.

First was the sweet one and Arnas offered me his arm and I swear I did not mean to look like I was ready to take my mans home, but here we are.

The bookspo one is the one that really got to me, though.

I asked Arnas to pretend to be angry with me, explaining it was for the book I was writing. And by the Gods did he deliver, shouting 'not this again Tessa, I told you not to do this' or something much like it, grabbing my hand firmly and making an angy Sihtric face. In the moment it was exactly what I needed from him.

Once the photo was shot, he petered off to the side and I was so in my feels that I backhugged him, which made him chuckle and nudge me to go in a gentle way.

After lunch it was time for my Marnas polaroid, my favourite moment of the entire weekend.

I was the first to show up, so I got to be the first in line, before anyone with prio. Sometimes it pays off to be anxious early. I got to see James get his stuff ready and watch Mark and Arnas get themselves amped up. I think they spotted me, because they started to overshout each other.

Mark won.

I sat down between them and Mark asked if I had something in mind, which I obvi did not. So Mark goes 'I am going to look at you very affectionately.' He's set the edge. And Arnas walses his arse right over it with 'I just realised I am madly in love with you.'. HAHAHAHAHAHIMNOTOKAY.

James had left the safety on his camera and it took him like four tries to realise this, but I was happy enough to sit between these two warm men, looking at me like I was the best thing since sliced bread.

Afterwards I got sent two pictures by about all my friends on several insta pages with two different angles from my polaroid. My favourite is on top of the post and the second one is below.

There after I went to Jacob for a signature and got a sweet hug from him as well. I told him I'd whisk him away and adopt him. He said he would not be able to breathe in my luggage though. We had a little laugh together and he was very happy with his gifts.

Ossian was next. Got my hug in, told him I wanted to adopt him and he wrote a very sweet message in my booklet.

He is so adorable.

Later when I was in line for Harry, he came over to Nat for a goodbye hug, which warmed my heart so so so much!

Then I went to Eysteinn, telling his I smelled something about free hugs.

Eysteinn was very gentle and kind and gave me another loosey goosey hug. But I also got the feeling he wasn't fully at ease. I am not sure if that was me or the entire situation.

Next up I went to Christian.

He is such a darling. He loved his afirmation card and we had a lil back and forth about creating your own joy and that he doesn't really agree with carpe diem and is more a crea diem kind of guy.

He gave me a sweet hug and wasn't really good at me telling him he has stunning blue eyes, he made a joke about blaming his parents for it.

Thereafter I lined for up Harry.

I was a few paces behind @charming-merlin who made Harry's fanbook. It was such a well made all round piece of art and I adored Harry's reaction to it, he was so so so happy and so impressed and I have hardly ever seen a man filled with so much awe and delight. All kudo's to her.

Harry tore into my bag of gifts right away, too and I got a big hug as well. He is such a joy to talk to and his hug was real tight.

And off I rushed to Mark.

Mark was already standing on 'my side' of the table, which was great for handing him his gift bag. He loved the Nowalls shirt and the pepernoten.

I got two hugs from Mark. One was for practise and one was for real. He was such a good sport about it and we had a brief little chat. He is genuinly a delight to be around and I just want this man to be my friend!

And last, but not least, of course I had to go to Arnas one more time.

Or ... two times, because I forgot my selfie so I had to line up again like a dumbass, but Arnas was very sweet about it.

I told him a little bit about the inspiration for my book and asked him to write something motivational for when I have writers block. He listened closely, which sort of messed up his writing, but I love it all the more because of that.

I got in a few more hugs and the selfie turned great!

I had an amazing weekend, making new friends and meeting so many lovely people. I laughed and loved so much and I fell in love a little deeper.

I just listened to that ml wranglers song - its very odd. Not a surprise it did not do well. I’m curious what all the ranfans are saying and how they are trying to connect it to Blake? Can someone update me on the gossip?

I think they are trying to link Blake to the new one even more. I guess Wranglers burned out pretty quickly.

I was just telling the girls in the chat how ironic it was that ML wrote Dead Flowers about Blake brining her flowers and her just seeing flowers that were cut and dead. Only seeing the burned out bulbs in the holiday string lights. Something like that. I haven’t heard that song in like a decade. Anyway, now Blake has someone who loves to arrange flowers, squeals with delight when he brings her flowers, loves to decorate for holidays, and is basically human sunshine. Besides the fact that she is THE Gwen Stefani, and drop dead gorgeous, and a worldwide icon, she is also the happiest muffin, especially with him being a big teddy bear goofball.

ML can keep putting out songs about the man that tried and tried with her, but finally had enough of her cheating and taking from him, and divorced her (almost 10 years ago!). It only shows what a sad person she is. If she wasn’t so evil in how she continues to try to victimize her victim, I would actually feel sorry for her. She looks around the world and sees dead plants, burned out bulbs, things she wants to steal from others, and the man she resents for being happy now after she treated like trash when she had him.

Blake and Gwen see so much happiness, laughter, and joy that they never want to look backwards and even forward scares them a little, because they are so happy right now!

Izzy was born as an attempt to fix a failing marriage. It was the typical toxic relationship; her father promising to stay clean and hold a job, her mother believing him only to then get sucked into her own relapse. The cycle was never-ending, and it came to the point where Izzy was being raised by her older brother. Let’s be real- he wasn’t that much older, only holding 3 years over her head. With the parents weaving in and out of her life, she never genuinely struggled in school. What tipped the axis of the world her brother and her managed to survive in, was one of Isabel’s drawings in art class.

Being 7 years of age, Izzy was taken to the police station before ultimately being handed off to DCF. At first, she was okay with the foster care system, mostly because she had her brother with her in the first house. In order to stay together, they had to adhere to the rules of the house and not get into trouble. Little did anyone know, her brother was a bit too far gone mentally at this point; his breakdown causing him to act out, which placed him in a separate foster home. As a chain reaction, Izzy started to act out as well. Though, at first, it was genuinely because she was mentally exhausted herself - it quickly became an attempt to try to reunite with her brother via chance. Her thought process making her believe that maybe one of these times, she’ll walk through the door to a new foster home and her brother would be the one welcoming her. As anyone could guess, it never happened.

Due to her behavior, it took 3 years for her to be adopted. When she was, she expected the worse. Her trust now dismantled, and her mind scattered. They’re a nice couple, but was it all a show? Izzy resorting back to the blueprint of parents that were downloaded via her biological ones and how they operated. At 10 years old, she was re-discovering the world but with her guard-up. At the age of 16, there was a breakthrough; the girl who was once so timid and introverted, was dying to open up. It took everything in her to come out as a lesbian to her now-parents, but once she did she was able to actually build connections with them without much fear due to their support.

It turns out she took after her dad, drawn to creativity and literature. It was between being a band photographer or an illustrator, which it was a no-brainer when she would volley the pros and cons with her parents. After attending UCSC for illustration and digital art, Izzy has become a successful cartoonist at one of the leading children networks along with a raved-about comic book series that was self-published by her and her partner. Oh, and she's in this really cool band - maybe you've heard of it.

EXTRA-EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT HER!

Izzy is quirky and awkward, mostly due to her social anxiety that stems from how she grew up in the system. She doesn’t handle change very well, but is still working on it. Though she struggles with anxiety as well as depression, she’s the one that brings in some comedic relief to the room. Isabel is very romantic, but can’t work up the courage enough to actually portray this quality of herself; instead, she finds herself escaping into books in order to live out these scenarios in her mind. She is a total whiz, when it comes to superheroes and comic books. Because of this, she is prone to total geek-outs when either are mentioned. She’s also an encyclopedia of fun facts - definitely one someone would want to have on their team during trivia nights. She loves game nights, and has a little bit of a competitive streak in her. Sometimes she can take it too far, but she’s easy to rein back in. She’s fond of art as a way of self-expression, seeing that it was the easiest way she could genuinely display her inner thoughts and emotions as well as cope. Izzy is overly kind, and can be seen as a pushover at times, but that’s due to the fact she doesn’t want to be on anyone’s bad side (her bio parents weren’t the best - okay?); so she’s not someone you’d want to ask to break any bad news. She loves music, and though she dedicates most of her time to playing gigs with her band, she frequents concerts and festivals. Izzy is very hardworking, and has never had a dream of hers not come true, due to the work she puts in. She had the ability to change the course of her life, and she was able to make a bright future out of the shit cards she was dealt. She’s protective to a default, and is a loyal friend; though she can get a bit clingy and fearful that those closest to her are going to leave one day. I think that’s mainly it on her. She loves slurpees and late night convos about conspiracies. She also can’t write and it drives her crazy.

GHRB Media Log - Band Hero

Band Hero, Guitar Hero's spin-off not a spin-off which released 2 months after Guitar Hero 5 and uses GH5's engine. This game's name is weird as fuck, as it's not really a spin-off at all, and every game after GH3had full band (Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals) support anyway due to Rock Band releasing. Instead of using the typical Metal and Rock theming the Guitar Hero series had, they went with Pop music. I think it's quite a fun choice and is a decent change of pace music wise.

The career mode is set up just like every other non-artist Guitar Hero game, you are a band, do gigs, get fans. This game has a pretty decent artstyle for its career mode cutscenes, and it is kinda insane. You go from small town mall venue, to major pop awards, to FUCKING SPACE. Nothing bad about it, I think it works well enough and is basically identical to how career mode is set up in World Tour and 5. 5/BH introduced a challenge system when doing career mode, where if you're playing a specific instrument, you can get a special reward if you do their little challenge. For example, if you're playing bass on a specific song, if you hit a few hundred notes with up strumming you'll get a special bass. Van Halen (and I assume WT and Metallica) has a similar thing where you get rewards based on what you play, but career mode is based on what instrument you're playing, rather then having it on specific songs. You can play through the entirety of career mode with just one instrument, it's all just bonuses, and things like special characters are related to playing the gig rather then instruments.

A big thing this game has (well, 3, WT, and 5 also did this) is special guest characters/bands that are actual real life people! The fun part about it in this game is rather then it being iconic guitarists (Like Slash and Ozzy), it's pop artists that were popular at the time! Mainly it's the entirety of No Doubt (including Gwen Stefani), Taylor Swift (this was 2009, so her original popularity), and Adam Levine (the guy from Maroon 5). I personally think this is the game with the best special guests just because there's something really funny about having these characters singing Metallica and the like.

The setlist is pretty good out of what they chose. Fascination by Alphabeat, YMCA by The Village People, Whip It by Devo, Take What You Take by Lily Allen, just to name a few I specifically like. The game has, according to it's box, 65 songs on disk. It also has Bring Me to Life by Evanescence which is certainly a choice for this game, but it's a good song so I don't care. From what I remember hearing about this game's development, this game came from Neversoft wanting to do more music then just the typical genres Guitar Hero did, so there's a lot of weird but very good choices.

The game is entirely compatible with GH5's DLC (and for the most part backwards compatible with World Tour's DLC) so that means GH5 got pop DLC but it also means you can play a lot of weird songs in Band Hero, like Avenge Sevenfold and Metallica which don't fit the game's theme even a little. We got Owl City - Fireflies as DLC so I'm happy about that.

Something really funny to me, is that this game has sponsors. There's just random products sprinkled around the venues if you look for them. You'll just randomly see things like Coca-cola in the background. Which I only noticed, because I saw Sponsored By; Coca-Cola when I was watching the credits.

When I got to the later parts of the game, the game was struggling to run smoothly. I don't know if it was my computer/capture card messing up or my ps3 messing up or just general bad optimization but it was a struggle running any song on the space venue. Which sucks, because it is easily one of the best in the entire series. From what I've heard also, a sequel was meant to be made but never happened (most likely due to the general failure of Warriors of Rock) which sucks because a second Band Hero would have been amazing.

I give this game a 8/10 maybe 8.5/10. The Wii version is barely playable, and I mean just barely a consistent playable framerate that dips a lot, with freezes all the time, on top of just looking terrible on there. The Wii version did have interconnectivity with the DS port (which I don't have) but I don't think that's nowhere enough to redeem that version of the game. PS3 was fine for the most part and looked pretty good overall.

Following the artist’s relocation from Berlin to New York this past year, Heinze’s newest suite of works investigates systems of knowledge and truth, challenging received notions of representation.

Heinze considers mortar as a site of genesis, the container of beginnings, from which raw materials are processed. Mortar can be the sound of aggression, bombardment, a foil or a threat. Mortar and pestle, a receptable for grinding ingredients, a cup for holding and crushing hard, like the grinding of teeth, or the moment infatuation becomes obsession, when yearning turns from tender to brutal. The paste which binds building blocks together, holding and distributing weight, sometimes decorative, composed of cement, water and sand. Paint is mortar, the built environment is mortar, the grind is mortar, decisions are sealed in mortar, and so is the longing for something even better and bigger and harder.

Heinze starts with small-scale drawings and collages, which are translated to large-scale tracings, undergoing several transformations as her canvases take shape. Rendering her surfaces over several months, layers of line and color are suspended in scenes at once frozen and in motion. Heinze works with a sense of suspicion, disputing the power of images. Her depictions are at times plush, like her floating (emoji)-bodied cherubs, or sharp and dense, like her reckless, airborne cinder blocks. Heinze’s pictures lend expanded, fragmented associations to her subjects, both stony and swaddled, heavy and buoyant. Heinze’s works negotiate categorization, neither pure figuration nor abstraction. Language hits a limit here, reaching for the means to describe–an enzyme, a digestif–where words fail. Heinze strives for a more empirical vocabulary, generating fields of sensation.

Interested in divination practices, ranging from tarot reading to online “spiritualist” influencing, the artist creates images motivated by imagined futures, drawing on both medieval and New Age “Youtubian” utopias. Influenced by the theory of the third hand in painting, the experience of transcendence which overtakes the artist at that critical point of flow state absorption, Heinze leans into this tradition of mysticism. Heinze allows the pieces to reveal themselves over time, creating kinetic, shifting pictures that trip expectation. Heinze builds tender worlds, in which instinct and environment coalesce in new impossibilities.

Works In Progress: Stefanie Salvatore Origin | Bamon + Stefanie (The Vampire Diaries)

Time has never felt like it's moved slower, and that's really saying something considering all of it that Damon's had to endure as a vampire. But somehow humanity feels stiller right now than it ever has. Frozen.

It has all day, since he woke up to Bonnie rushing from the bed in their current hotel room and slamming the bathroom door behind her. He's quick to follow at the sound of her throwing up. Food poisoning, they assume.

"I told you something was off about that place," she complains hoarsely, head resting on her arm on the bowl.

Damon just smooths more of her hair from her face and gives his agreement, staying next to her. She had warned him, after all, and the food had definitely tasted wrong in many ways.

The sickness seems to pass shortly after. Having already made plans for the day, Bonnie insists that she's fine now. So, they try and go about the day as they planned, checking out places around the little town in a pocket of the Netherlands.

But they cut things short when Bonnie finally admits that the nausea is back and she's sure she's about two seconds away from collapsing. They head back to their hotel room instead.

Damon will admit to being worried. If it really is food poisoning, he should have all the same symptoms, he reasons, should he not? They ordered the exact same food, and he managed to get down more of it than she did. It doesn't make any sense.

At least, it doesn't until he comes out of the shower and finds Bonnie sitting cross-legged on the bed with a nervous, almost terrified look on her face. There's a thin, rectangular box next to her. Unopened.

It immediately clicks for him and he doesn't know how he didn't consider it before. Maybe deep down they both did.

"I called my mom," she tells him quietly, glancing up at him, but only for a second. "Just to check in, like I usually do. I, uh, I told her about the food poisoning, and she said..."

Her eyes dart to the box and she takes a sharp inhale. Damon moves slowly, approaching the bed with his heart pounding in his chest.

"Do you think...?" He swallows, but follows her suit in taking a deep breath. "Do you think you could be?"

Bonnie doesn't answer right away. The look in her eyes is enough, though. The morning sickness. Feeling light-headed and dizzy. The reason why the so-called food poisoning only seems to be affecting her.

It makes sense, he thinks, and his heart drops. She presses her lips together and he knows she's thinking it, too.

They've been doing this for months--travelling from one country to another without a real plan. Cade was defeated. Mystic Falls was safe. Damon was human and officially single. They were both still grieving over Enzo. It made sense for them to leave together to get a fresh start.

And things just happened after a couple of months, and maybe they weren't always so careful, but they were sure it was fine. Nothing has happened. Until now.

"I don't know."

Damon nods slowly. "Okay. Well... let's just see. Start with the test. If..." If it's postive, if you're pregnant. "Let's just start there."

Bonnie agrees. She disappears into the bathroom with the box. Damon forces himself to pull some clothes on. He then sinks down onto the bed and waits.

The waiting. Bonnie comes back out a moment later, the test in her hand. She comes and sits next to him, and places it on the bed.

"Takes a few minutes," she tells him, still not looking at him. Her eyes are on her hands instead.

"Bonnie," he says softly. When she doesn't respond with more than a little noise, he repeats it.

She turns her head, lifting her eyes to him. It hits him all at once. The storm of emotions flashing through her eyes. Fear, worry, the look of someone who's utterly lost.

He takes her hand, his gaze never wavering as his fingers curl around Bonnie's.

"I'm here. Okay? I know... we've never exactly talked about this kind of situation. But I promise you, no matter what the test says, I'm still gonna be right here."

She stares at him for a moment more, letting his words sink in. He offers a gentle smile, and she returns the pressure of his fingers.

"If it is..." He wets his lips, heart jumping into his throat. "If it is positive... how would you feel? Tell me what you're thinking."

She shakes her head, looking away from him again, as if she can't let herself think right now. But he waits, simply running his thumb over the back of her hand.

And eventually, in a barely audible voice, she says, "Honestly? I'm terrified."

He nods, but stays quiet.

"I've thought about kids, of course I have. Not recently, but I have. And I've never been able to stop asking myself, what if I'm bad at it? I love my mom, and my grams was amazing raising me. But still, with history... you never know."

"Genetics don't determine what you'll be like as a mother," Damon says, shaking his head. "And even if it did, you said it yourself: your grams was amazing. Emily and your mom both did what they could to protect their kids. To protect you."

"I know that," Bonnie says, staring straight ahead. "But neither of them were able to be there. Of course I don't blame my mom for protecting me, but I spent my entire childhood not knowing why she left. Questioning why."

She turns her head to look at him, her eyes big and round and so full of worry as her voice cracks.

"What if the same thing happened with me? What if--because of our lives, I have to leave? Or something bad happens to me? I don't want my child to go through that. It was an awful and horrible feeling."

"I know," Damon says quietly, giving her hand another light squeeze. He looks away, clearing his throat. "With the way my father was with me and Stefan... I never thought I'd have to worry about it after I turned, but now..."

"You're scared that you'll be like him," Bonnie says knowingly. "Just like I'm scared of history repeating and my child ending up without me. Or just completely alone."

Damon swallows again and takes in a deep breath, turning his gaze back to her.

"That wouldn't happen," he says, pushing down his own rising, swirling fears. "You would be an amazing mother. Kind, and supportive, and encouraging. I've seen you with Lizzie and Josie. Risking your life for them. You would find a way around any problem."

Bonnie's eyes are shining and he's sure she isn't even blinking. But she smiles, the barest twitch of her mouth.

"And you're not your father," she says.

He bites down on the inside of his cheek. He isn't as convinced on that part. Something must show on his face, because Bonnie gives his hand a light tug, making him look back up at her.

"You're not," she presses. "You think I haven't seen you with the twins as well? You've offered up your soul to protect them. You would never do anything to hurt your own child. You would be a good dad."

He's never put that much thought into it until now, but he wants to believe her. He just nods, returning her small smile.

Silence falls over them. That feeling of time moving slowly stretches out. He just stares at their suitcases left open in a mess across from them.

"Should we look?" Bonnie asks quietly, at last.

"I don't know," Damon says. "Probably."

He hesitates, and he can feel her doing the same. Then they both look down at the test.

Damon's stomach drops out of him. His heart pulses relentlessly against his ribs and in his throat, loud in his ears. It feels like he can hear Bonnie's, too. And the third heartbeat apparently growing inside of her.

"Okay," Bonnie says quietly, nodding slowly. Her hand is gripping his with a strength to rival a vampire's. "So, I'm pregnant."

Damon's mind is racing. Reality hits at last, finally feeling real and yet not at all in the slightest.

He turns to Bonnie. It's another blow to his chest and his heart when he realizes she's crying.

"Hey, hey."

He quickly pulls her in, wrapping his arms around her. She immediately collapses into him and buries her face in his shirt as he just holds her with a hand on the back of her head.

"It's okay," he says. "It's gonna be okay. The test might not be right. We can see a doctor, get it confirmed. And even if you are, whatever you want to do. I'll be right here no matter what you decide. It's gonna be okay."

They stay like that for a moment. Bonnie then shakes her head, and he feels her pull back slightly. She wipes at her eyes with her wrist.

"It's just the shock, I think," she says.

Damon's hand drops to her leg and he rubs her thigh soothingly, and also to have something to do.

Bonnie breathes out slowly. She glances back down at the test. That terrified, but thoughtful look returns to her face.

Another beat passes, then she nods. "Seeing a doctor is a good idea."

"Okay," Damon agrees. "Do you wanna find the closest one here?"

"Yeah," she breathes out. "The sooner we get an appointment, the better."

Damon nods and moves to get up for his phone, left on the other side of the room. But Bonnie catches his wrist and holds him in place.

"Wait," she quickly says, and he does, pausing. He sinks back down onto the bed as she takes a moment before continuing. "I... If I really am pregnant... I think I want to keep it."

Damon's pulse is loud in his ears once more, reverberating throughout his entire body. Bonnie's staring, searching wide-eyed for even the faintest reaction.

"Okay," he breathes out. He tightens his hold on her hand as surprise flashes through her eyes, and he moves his other hand to clasp hers between the two of them. "I told you that I will be here, no matter what. You wanna keep it, we keep it. I promise you that I am not going anywhere, I will be here for you every step of the way. We're in this together, right?"

Bonnie's eyes are wide and shining again. A couple tears fall when she blinks, but her face breaks into a smile, a short, gentle, breathless laugh. She nods quickly, hair bouncing around her shoulders.

"Yeah," she says, and for the first time, she's smiling so wide he thinks he can actually hear joy in her voice. She swallows, quickly pressing her lips into a line. "We're in this together."

Damon can't help but grin back at her. Something flutters in his chest, and then they're both laughing for no reason. Both crying, too, he realizes when Bonnie reaches a hand up and wipes a tear or two from his cheek.

The thought of all of it is still absolutely terrifying, somehow more so after making an appointment with the nearest doctor in a couple of days. But it's also exciting in a way that he never thought he'd experience. He can see it in Bonnie's expression as well when they're curled up in bed together, the sun setting outside.

She's trailing her fingers along her stomach, as if she can already see the possibility. And she's smiling still, a glint in her eyes. Damon can't do anything but watch her, content in doing so.

"What kind of name would you choose?" Bonnie asks him without looking up, her smile growing.

He hums in thought. "Daffodil."

Bonnie twists her neck to stare up at him, furrowed brow in disbelief. "What?"

Damon laughs, and she rolls her eyes. "I'm obviously kidding. How cruel do you think I am?"

"Well, I don't know, you were born in the nineteenth century to a man named Giuseppe and grew up around people like Honoria," Bonnie says with a scoff. "You probably have terrible taste in names."

"That is absolutely untrue, how dare you."

"Gimme one good example of a name you would choose."

Damon pauses. "There's... Jo-Johnathon. God, no, not Johnathon, I take that back."

Bonnie laughs, twisting a little onto her side, curling into him. "See? You can't think of one. And you can't suggest Giuseppe. Lily I might allow, but Katherine is off-limits."

Damon shudders. "God no. Agreed. Never Katherine."
