Sooo....

I get that Maps isn't the main focus in this comic series, but I was really hoping for some more info about her new hero gig. She was barely in the new chapter, but I think that'll change as the series continues.

But let's talk about what we do know.

1. She's from the future, that much is explained.

2. She goes by Meridian

3. She's there to help stop a potential 'end of the world' apocalyptic situation.

What we learned from this latest chapter is that her abilities are connected to that machine attached to her arm.

She had just Thano snapped herself back into the past. Which was cool! But that's it. In this new chapter, we see how mature and serious she became compared to when she was a child.

Although, it was short lived. I'm curious if DC will make a whole separate comic explaining Maps' journey and how she became Meridian.

It's a long shot, but I'm hopeful in the development of her character. She honestly deserves her own series, or they could at least bring back GA.

Adding to emphasis that the part about the MBTA covering more than just raptors. I've found that if people have heard of any of this, it's usually the part where you can't have eagle feathers and they've no idea about the rest of it!

Seeing people shoot raptors in other countries is fucking wild to me because we have a whole system of super strict laws governing how you can handle an individual FEATHER off of an eagle, and it doesn't have to even be a dead eagle. One can molt and you can find it on the ground and if you're caught with it the warden will fuck your entire life. What do you mean people are out there shooting them to protect a fucking pheasant. Lottie looked up at the male when she felt another pair of hands on her waist, just above Eric's. She looked to see Juyeon this time, the male giving her a sweet smile.

Lottie then noticed all the guys had crowded around her, as if she was their prey. Her core felt extra hot and her panties already wet slightly.

I know in 1984, after the shot in STIII that's the first screencap above, I was confused when Sulu reported minutes later that the complement of a bird of prey is "about a dozen, officers and men". Either that thing must be closer than it looks or, to have room for only twelve crew, it should have been so overpowered that the Enterprise shouldn't be "outgun[ning] me ten to one". But then the first shot when it appears, when it uncloaks dwarfing Valkris' hired shuttle, sure makes it look cruiser-sized too. I'm not surprised to read that this is a longtime topic of contention among the ship specialists in the fandom.

How BIG is the Klingon Bird of Prey?

First introduced in Star Trek III: The Search For Spock and seen in nearly every iteration of Trek since, the Klingon Bird of Prey is iconic. But how big is she? This is complicated by her appearing at several different sizes throughout the same movie, let alone through the franchise.

With the classic movie Enterprise (305m)

With the Next Gen Enterprise (625m) and Romulan B-Type Warbird (1353m)

Lawrence Miller's 1985 K'tara-class blueprints say she's 168 feet long, which is only 51.2 meters (would not fit whales)

The official Haynes Klingon Manual (2012) gives her overall length as 456 feet/139 meters (would fit whales)

The Star Trek Encyclopedia tried to account for the various on-screen size discrepancies by saying there were in fact at least two differently sized versions of the Klingon Bird of Prey which were externally identual. The B'rel class was the smaller one, and K'vort class the bigger.

The Enterprise crew standing on the sinking HMS Bounty, which is so tiny in this shot I'm not sure the bridge would fit inside. Definitely would not fit whales.

The real life reason for the upscale in TNG-era Trek was budget. The model was super detailed and big screen ILM quality, so when they needed a big Klingon ship, they just reused the Bird of Prey model and kept the wings up (which moved a lot in STIII and IV) to make it look slightly different instead of building something else.

Later they could afford to build the Vor'cha Klingon Attack Cruiser model and switched over to that for all "big" Klingon ship needs until "All Good Things" and DS9 had the Neg'var model (which one time grew to like five kilometers in length, but that's another story!)

And maybe I'm massively overthinking a franchise where this bridge in STIII

The forest was quiet as Brid looked onward for the missing ring of the student that complained some days ago. Usually she would ask Odel to come with her but he was busy locating his missing Shinigami again... and so, the small fae woman looked around the dark corners of the dormitory... eventually however she heard some noises behind her, getting her nervous. Things got darker and even if she could orientate well after another leaf ruffling she spoke up.

"W-who goes there?"

And out of the shade stepped Dazos... covered in gold as usual, looking at her with a smug grin, making her head hurt just by looking up at him.

"Did the little squirrel got lost here? Usually the little dorm leader barely visits us..."

"I am l-looking for something is all."

"And that without your dear magician bodyguard?"

"I h-have to be brave and do things on my own."

She saw him bend down more to slowly meet her face, she grew nervous and started sweating, feeling like prey cornered by a predator as her back was suddenly against a tree.
