@abbystamp knew right out of the gate that she wanted a back full of bridal buttons and when we got into the final fabrics and notions everything just sparkled! I love sharing high quality skincare and makeup ideas while talking bridal style with Clients and put together goody bags for Abby and her mother. These first few fittings were done in the comfort of The Guest House at The StoneCat Cafe here in Hector, New York. I love working in comfortable private spaces like an @airbnb in between bookings! The first fitting with the final fabric is when we really honed in the lace appliqué, making very detailed decisions about placement. This organic lotus lace was such a beautiful choice and the pattern offered many possibilities that we tried out during fittings. 🪡 🪞 🪄 . . . #bridalbuttons #fashiondesign #weddingdressdesign #fleurdemecustombridal #weddingdressdesigner #fashiondesigner #dressdesigner #customdressmakingprocess #process #custombridal #customweddingdress #flxfibers #flxbride #flxfashion #weddingdressmaking #dessmaking #applique #lotuslace #laceapplique #appliqueprocess #customfashion #laceplacement https://www.instagram.com/p/CRWl4oENEcG/?utm_medium=tumblr

Sourcing components like mesh, buttons, lace, fabric and trim for a Custom Wedding Dress is so important. This is one of the big reasons I like to start working with a Custom Bridal Client a year before their big day. After trying on Wedding Dresses Abby had a clear idea of how she wanted her dress to look and FEEL. Because she was so clear I got straight to drafting her pattern, rather than sketching designs. We knew we were going to do lace appliqué over a sleeved mesh bodice with a full center back row of satin covered bridal buttons. Abby even sourced the fabrics herself! That’s a pretty cool part of having a custom gown designed with Themis and Thread, you can play as big or small a role in the design process as you want! To continue following the design process of this special dress follow the unique hashtag #FleurDeMeCustomBridal ✂️ 🧵 🪡 . . . #customweddingdressdesign #fabricsourcing #mesh #bridalbuttons #lace #lotuslace #bridalsourcing #destinationwedding #flxbridal #flxbride #bridalstyle #customfashion #weddingdressdesigner #fashiondesigner #dressdesign #designprocess (at Themis and Thread) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ_MJjgNZKE/?utm_medium=tumblr
