What are the key advantages of Terracotta Brick Cladding?
Terracotta cladding is an ancient building material with a dense popularity. Generated from earth, this natural material is made out of ground extracted, mixed, and refined clay which is moulded into bricks. With careful and temperature-controlled procedures and oxidizing to make its excellent earthy and realistic color, terracotta cladding is later on dyed and kiln fired for a few days at nearly 1000ᵒC to make the final tile.
Terracotta claddings are well known for multiple reasons, from their natural appearance and endless options and combinations to their energy efficiency and high durability.  Designers looking for adding attractive, tailored, and natural materials to their projects find lots of reasons for using terracotta brick cladding that make it suitable for meeting their expectations.
1. Unmatched Durability
A durable and strong material, terracotta bricks can bear high-impact areas, and extreme UV rays, and harsh weather conditions, for example - rain, heavy wind, and sultriness, making it an ideal option for outdoor use and indoor use. For instance, giant public buildings which are subjected to high levels of traffic, like the Australian National Archives, an advantage from the terracotta facade. On the other hand, other cladding materials like fiber cement are well-known options for the same applications, these cladding systems stand out for their amazing hardwearing characteristics.
Given it’s made of fired clay, therefore, it is completely non-combustible - terracotta is also a fire resistant alternative safe for all constructions, including high rise buildings where non-combustible material is used. Just like Exposed Wire Cut Brick, It needs no durable maintenance, so the join between panels will not require maintenance over a time of period.
2. Energy Efficiency & Atmosphere Friendliness
As sustainability comes on top of building design, terracotta cladding scales up as a highly sustainable option as it is a natural as well as a natural material and one that  contributes to overall sustainability of building.
Like its rainscreen system, its insulating properties and porous nature of the clay, terracotta has thermal insulation values that you can get  at an affordable price, just like wire cut bricks price. When utilized in a rainscreen facade and regulating temperature and airflow as well as cladding, it also can control the temperature of the building from inside and mitigate its energy consumption.
3. Low Maintenance & Clean Appearance
Terracotta needs minimum upkeep when compared to other cladding materials which makes it an excellent option for large-scale construction where ongoing maintenance may be difficult. As per some surveys, terracotta might last up to 100 years with no maintenance, also not required to add fibers to enhance its strength. Terracotta itself is naturally a hard material, which is unlikely to fade its colors and lose its glossiness, preserving its integrity and appearance.
Classic Bricks offers the low-maintenance terracotta brick cladding experience, designed easy to clean and maintain, it’s also at the forefront to harsh weather conditions, and it also scratch and dent proof, maintaining its appearance last up to hundred of years.

Project for Temporary Intervention with Bricks and Terracotta Fragments In an unspecified location with a large, open space, similar to an inner courtyard like those found in old Mediterranean houses with access to the street, a temporary installation is proposed, configuring a central circular space made of construction brick fragments and debris. A circle in the center, approximately 2 meters in diameter, creates a space for people to sit and observe the installation. Its perimeter is made of small brick fragments that radiate outward centrifugally, increasing in size as they move away from the center. The larger bricks cover the walls, maintaining the same expansive logic. This proposal uses recycled construction materials to temporarily engage in dialogue with historical buildings.
