Holy shit ok so sending you this a bit preemptively, but I’m like 99% sure of my case; Kaijuno is posting about someone on insta ripping off «her poem that she wrote in hs» rn. Its not her poem. The original source is tumblr user @bri-ecrit from may 6th 2013. The earliest point kaijuno posted it was 2019. This is a new low imo, blatantly stealing from another active tumblr user.

I can’t access their archive (maybe because I’m on mobile?) so I cannot fact check this right now. According to kaijunos archive, they weren’t on tumblr until 2014 anyways, so if archived proof that bri posted that first exists (anon if u could send the link I’d appreciate it) then yeah this is p damning.

I don’t really know what anybody expected from somebody who regularly lies and claims AI art as their own. Just another lie for her yeah?

6) something you would go back and change in your writing that it’s too late/complicated to change now

Oh, this is a good question! Perhaps if I could start the Finnreylo Murder AU over I would plan it more. I just started writing and it’s been coming together through some magic I don’t understand, but if I’d had an outline and done a multi chapter fic instead of a series of one shots maybe it would be better? But, I’m really fond of it, as it is, and the format has really given me the flexibility I wanted when I started (which is why I did a series instead of a multi chapter - I wanted less stress, and I think it worked). 

8) favorite genre to write

Horror, I think. It’s just really fun to write. (second runner up is SMUT because of course it is)

11) what aspect of your writing do you think has most improved since you started writing?

Gosh, this is hard because I don’t actually think very much about my writing. Like, it’s not craft, it’s a thing I do because I have a bug in my head that encourages me to do it. That said I did recently reread a piece I wrote a couple of years ago and I ended up doing a little bit of smithing to fix perspective and clarity of dialogue, just to make it clear who was saying what, and why. I think that comes more naturally to me, now, or maybe I’m just more aware of it.

23) any obscure life experiences that you feel have helped your writing?

This isn’t really obscure, but I’m an academic in my day job and so I do a lot of critical thinking and making arguments. I do think that helps with my writing because, to some extent, writing a fic is like writing an argument to an audience. Who are these characters, what are they thinking, why do they do what they do? Why do we care? Planning a smut fic is actually really similar to planning an academic article about ... whatever. I think.

End of year - 16 (😉), 38, 42, 43

16. What food did you try for the first time?

Well, SOME people keep trying to get me to eat vegetables (brussels sprouts, edamame, snap peas, spinach and artichoke dip etc.), but those some people also got me to cook my own steak on a rock AND eat the most amazing meal of my life which was Taiwanese food (not gonna find that in western PA) so it all balances out.

38. What was the best moment of the year for you?

Probably competing my floor routine at nationals. It was the culmination of SO much hard work - between not being able to train because of blood pressure issues thanks to my med switch-ups, then having an immensely difficult time training because of my kneecaps being loose and having to PT for that, it was physically SO difficult. And it wasn’t just hard work on my part - it was on @itsme-ashley-marie for choreographing the thing to perfection, my coaches for making sure the skills were clean, on Rachel freakin Bloom for getting me the music - it was truly a labor of love and a collaborative effort. Going out there and getting to compete that routine that makes me feel strong and sexy and powerful and fun - and earning a national bronze for it - is the most incredible feeling. I can’t wait to do it again in February, and hopefully go for gold at nationals again this year!

42. What are you most proud of accomplishing?

Seeking the help that I knew I needed. When I hit rock bottom after everything crashed and burned with the job, I didn’t think I would ever be happy or able to live a normal life again. This program - while easily being one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done - has taught me so much. It took me a long time to recognize it, but I’m finally starting to and I can honestly say that I am REALLY proud of myself for how far I’ve come. Even just being proud of myself is a big freaking deal for me.

43. What have you learned about yourself this year that you didn’t know in the years prior?

Oh man - I could write a novel. This has unquestionably been the most trying year of my life... but I’m still here. This year has thrown me curveball after curveball after curveball... but I’m still here. This year has shown me darkness I didn’t think was possible... but I’m still here. So I guess first and foremost? That I am a HELL of a lot stronger than I thought I was (which has always been a mantra of mine thanks to @bri-ecrit but I don’t think I ever truly recognized it until recently). I’ve learned to savor every moment with the people you love. I’ve learned that taking care of myself is important. I’ve learned that asking for help isn’t a weakness, it’s a strength. I’ve learned so much - as immensely difficult as this year has been, it has been a gift because I am so much stronger now than I was even two months ago. I really, truly believe that.
