I’ve never seen a bloated model before- how does that even happen?

I rarely post anything Breyer on here, especially my horses, but the shade difference between the chalky glossy FAS (the one on the right) and the non-chalky FAS on the left is amazing.

Also, the one on the left is a bloaty and that's why he's on my sales list. I'm holding the chalky glossy FAS because he doesn't stand lol. Every rare horse I have has something kinda wrong with it (especially if it's a vintage test. I have so many wonky and worn vintage test colors).

Decided to be brave and take my first custom Picasso to a live show. So I added a few more details - especially the eyes/face - and some more shading, mane/tail details ect.

I think he’s just about at where I can show him proudly … he’s not perfect and I don’t think he’ll place but I don’t want to show up with something I don’t think is the best I can do right now!

Today’s Breyer horse is: #8217 “Charisma”. A special crystal model of the Zippo Pine Bar mold sculpted by Sommer Prosser. Part of the Equestral Crystalworks collection. Ran from 2013-2015.

Allow me to introduce you to the model horse hobby. I collect Breyer model horses and in fact this year marked 15 YEARS since I started collecting seriously. Every now and then, starting back on March 7, 2020 when I got my Twitter account, I’ve been taking pictures of my models outside in my (very tiny) backyard. Due to how crazy my life has gotten I haven’t had a chance to take any this year BUT I do plan on doing so soon :)

The first four pictures were taken March 7, 2020, and the last two were taken December 31, 2023, hours before the new year.

Also the sorrel-colored jumping horse isn’t a Breyer. She’s a Peter Stone 2012 Design-A-Horse I ordered back in 2012. She *thinks* she’s a Breyer though since she’s shelved with them in my room 🤭

It's Toy Time Tuesday! With...Breyer Stablemates Unicorn Swirl Gift Set! This set marks the return of the blog (was not posted for a while) and the hopeful return of the 'days of the week' where different things appear in accordance with the day. This set has 4 members with airbrushed color themes. The draft horse gets reddish purple and blueish purple, walking gets hot orange and pink, rearing up gets hot pink and yellow and standing gets blue and...kind of a miserable green? These are a nice idea, creating a colorful set to collect but the color choices don't seem 100%. The walking and the rearing one right away stand out as cool characters, but the other 2 don't so much...not because of the poses (draft is running) but the colors just don't seem to go with each other that well. It's a reasonably priced item at about 15 dollars on Amazon or Ebay though, and an easy way to get some fun unicorns. This is a 2024/2025 item Opinion Time: The bluepurple on the draft one should have replaced the swamp green on the standing one. The horns should have been metallic or some other color that's not the same as their skin, same with the hooves. It makes them look unfinished how they are now.

New Breyer 2025 models!!!

Omg the new models for 2025 were released and aaaa

I need himmmm I love Chincoteague Ponies!!!

According to the Breyer website: “Foaled in 2009, Surfer’s Riptide is a flaxen chestnut stallion with flashy white markings – just like his late sire, Surfer Dude. Riptide was a “buyback” foal, meaning he was auctioned with the stipulation that he was to be donated back to the herd. He was returned to Assateague to live out his life. He’s since sired many foals, including a few that can be traced back to Misty!

The year 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the pony swim and auction. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of this model go to support the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company and the Museum of Chincoteague.”

I was waiting for this mold to be used for a standard run model and it does not disappoint!

I also need this gorgeous Tradition tribute to Cloud - Cloud’s Legacy was my first Classics set I bought to make a silly Breyer horse movie so I feel like it’s full circle to get him.

I am eying some of the Breyerfest models but they’re always expensive and the shipping costs are a killer. So I’ll have to wait and see…

But these two I want to be able to pick up from a store since they’re more likely to be stocked here in Australia. I hope so, at least!

I kind of need the Spanish horse model since it’s one of my favourite molds. The Sport Horse I can wait for but the little horses in their markings are 🥺 I love them
