I find so funny how when something Big™ happens to one of the BAU the ones that had been around for more that one season (and thus years) are super emotionally invested and stuff....and then you have the new agents that joined literally yesterday arkwardly standing all 🧍🏻🧍🏻 at the background or looking downright confused at the fucking angst.

Being at the lake house and dating Brendan and showing some pda every once in a while. But you’re Luke’s twin and so you have all of your protective brothers always around trying to stop you two for doing anything

you’ve known brendan for many many years since you guys are family friends, but he’s always just been a friend to your brothers, and nothing special to you. but all that changed when you started college at umich.

you and your twin brother luke both attend the university of michigan. you and luke have always been attached at the hip and definitely have separation anxiety from each other, so getting into the same college was good for you both, and came as a shock to no one.

at first luke was pissed when you and brendan started dating. he knows how brendan can be when it comes to girls, and the last thing he would ever want is for you to get hurt. but he learned to accept it when he saw just how adamant you were about brendan. after that, you and brendan started dating during first semester, and now it’s currently summer break.

every summer break has always been spent at the lake house, and every year the teammates and friends who get brought along to the house varies. this year instead of bringing one of your friends, you decided to bring brendan. of course this is beneficial to everyone, since luke brought some of the other umich guys along too, but brendan promised to pay attention to you as well as the other guys.

and best believe you have his attention.

you walk out onto the deck where some of the boys are either lounging or playing monopoly. you remove your t-shirt, but leave on your jean shorts, revealing your brand new baby pink bikini top. you can feel brendan’s eyes on you as you fold up your t-shirt and place it on top of the deck railing. you walk over to the wicker couch where brendan is sat, with ethan and luke on his other side. “y/n! play monopoly with us!” luke exclaims. “okay, i’ll be on brens team” “oh of course you chose brendan over me” luke rolls his eyes, making everyone laugh including you.

“come sit” brendan pats his leg, since the other spots on the couch and chairs are taken up by jack, luke, ethan, and trevor. you gently sit on his lap, earning the death glare from both luke and jack. you bite your lip to hide your laugh, as you look through the money that you and brendan have. brendan places his head on your shoulder, and you run your hands through his soft brown hair, and he places a few soft kisses on your bare shoulder as you do so.

luke continues to try and ignore the times you guys show pda every so often during the game, but you see him and jack sharing glances every once in a while. quinn, brady tkachuk, and cole caufield walk out onto the porch and quinn’s eyes are instantly drawn to you being sat on brendan’s lap.

“um, heyyy guys.” cole says awkwardly, as he sees the way your older brothers are all looking at each other. “coley and brady! hi guys” you exclaim as you rise up off of brendan’s lap. you rush over to cole claiming you have a tiktok you’re dying to show him, but you really don’t. you just needed and excuse to get away from the awkward moment with your brothers, and cole knows that. you decide it’s best if you quit the monopoly game and tan instead, so that way your brothers don’t end up putting brendan in a chokehold.

later that night after dinner, you all decide to go make s’mores by the fire pit. of course there’s not enough chairs, so like before, you’re sat on brendan’s lap. trevor, brady, and ethan are sat on the grass, while luke, jack, quinn, and cole all have their own chairs.

you’re in one of brendan’s hoodies and a pair of sleep shorts. your head rests on brendan’s shoulder as luke and jack tell embarrassing stories about quinn. brady begins to chime in telling stories from when him and quinn were roomates, and you begin to crack up laughing. brendan can’t help but look at you as you laugh, a smile growing across his face.

“what? do i have something on my face?” you whisper to him, instantly wiping your mouth. “no no you don’t, don’t worry” he chuckles as he removes your hand from your face, interlacing your fingers together. “then what were you looking at?” you ask, your guys’ tone still remaining so that only you can hear each other. “i was just watching you laugh, i think it’s so cute how your head falls back and your cheeks turn a little pink” he admits, instantly making you blush and hide your face.

“no idea what brendan just said to y/n, but i bet it was something disgusting” jack groans. “i bet he was confessing his undying love for her” luke chimes in. instantly the group of boys around you erupts into theories of what brendan had told you, and before you know it you guys are being mimicked. your cheeks must be beet red at this point.

“oh brendan i just love you sooo much! kiss me!” jack says to trevor in a very high pitched voice. “oh y/n, i love you even more! i love you to the moon and back, times 100!” trevor replies, leaning in for a kiss from jack. you quickly get up from the chair and gently push trevor and jacks faces apart, just before their lips can get any closer. you roll your eyes at jack and flip him and trevor off.

“uh hello! jack whenever you would bring girls over i would never make fun of you!” you groan. “uh yeah, you would?! you and luke would always bully the crap out of me! remember when you scared that one girl i was talking to away?! i’ll never forgive you for that” he says, pointing a finger between you and luke. “oh suck it up, she was annoying anyways” you chuckle, seeing luke nod in agreement.

“i’ve never been more glad to have gotten out of the house when i did” quinn says, taking a sip of his drink. “don’t even get me started on you quinny! remember when i caught you and-“ “that’s enough from you missy! isn’t it past your bedtime?” quinn says, his cheeks turning rosy from embarrassment,

“CAUGHT HIM DOING WHAT?” cole and brendan say, obviously very intrigued. “don’t you dare say anything! we’ll stop bullying you i promise, please just be quiet this once!” quinn pleads. “woah woah, who said we were gonna stop!” luke complains, waving his hand between him and jack.

silly moments like this have always been what your summers have looked like, and you’d never trade it for the world.

Brendan threw the sheets into the washing machine, turning it on and wandering onto the deck to finish his beer. It’d been a while since he’d seen Phoebe, and her presence was overwhelming. 

The door opened and Phoebe sat beside him, looking out onto the water. For Brendan it felt like he’d traveled back in time to before he’d gone to college, before he’d messed up what they’d had between them. 

“You really didn’t have to give up your room for Luke’s friend, I would’ve been fine with him on the couch.” Phoebe said, breaking the comfortable silence.

“I know, I just… I feel like I should protect you. I know you can handle yourself and Matty’s a great guy and all but… I guess I’m jealous? I don’t know.” 

“It’s not your place to be jealous anymore Bren, I mean you lost me.” She said, tucking her hair behind her ear and facing Brendan.

Bren.

Phoebe hadn’t called him that since they’d been together all those years ago, butterflies swarmed in his stomach as he looked into her blue eyes.

“I know Bea, I know.” He sighed, looking down into his almost empty drink, the moment shattered.

She rested her head on his shoulder as he finished his drink. Brendan imagined their lives hadn’t changed, that Phoebe was still his. He wished they were still sneaking around once her brothers were asleep, driving to Walmart and running through the isles at midnight, oblivious to the world around them. He wished he’d kept the photos of them she’d taken on her old camera when she’d been obsessed with documenting every aspect of her life. He wished he’d never left that night, that he’d turned down Michigan and promised to stay with her forever. But he hadn’t, he’d left and here they were. 

Definitely not nothing but also not something. 

An almost, a wish and a memory.

The next morning came, Brendan having slept on Phoebe’s couch as the sheets were in the dryer. He woke up, surrounded by her. Her clothing spread along the floor, perfume wafting through the brightly painted room. When Phoebe was younger she’d taken her paint set to the walls and painted intricate murals of everything and everyone she loved. Brendan wished he could still see where they had hidden their names within a heart, a new mural having taken its place. Intricate vines surrounded a large sunflower, the faintest lines of their names still peaking through. Brendan stood up, walking towards the flower, another reminder of all he’d lost. He slowly traced his finger over the remnants of his name, a smile on his face.

“What are you doing?” Phoebe said, stepping out of the adjoining bathroom in nothing but a towel. 

Brendan turned, startled as he quickly realized her lack of clothing. Despite the pure want clouding Brendan’s mind, he resisted the urge to grab her by the waist and remove the towel. 

“I- uh- well- I was admiring this flower. It wasn’t here before.” He said, a blush radiating up his neck and onto his cheeks.

“Yeah okay Bren, sure. Now turn back around so I can get dressed.” 

He turned around resisting the urge, once again, to see her without her towel. Her beauty hadn’t been lost on him as she’d walked through the door the day before. 

Once Phoebe was dressed, the two of them headed to the kitchen to get coffee and find out the plans for the day. Since Brendan had been in Vegas, he still hadn’t acclimated to the time zone which meant he’d woken up much later than everyone else.

“Good morning sleepyhead.” Jack said as Brendan walked through the door, still clad in pajamas. 

“Here, I made you a coffee, it’s kinda cold now though…” Quinn smiled, handing him the drink.

Brendan had forgotten how great it felt to be around people who truly loved and appreciated him. Don’t get him wrong, he loved his dad, but his dad had been away a lot growing up and the Hughes’ were the closest things he had to a functioning family.

“Where’s Moosey?” Phoebe asked, sitting at a barstool and picking up the tea she’d left earlier in the day. 

“Picking up Matty, he should be back soon though.” Jack replied, taking the seat next to her. 

Just as Brendan finished his coffee, the door opened and Matty bounded down the stairs. 

“Hugheseys, Brissy, I’m hoooome!!” Matty had never been one for shy introductions as he quickly scooped Jack, Quinn, and Brendan into a hug.

“Hey buddy, it’s been a while. How’s Seattle?” Brendan asked, a genuine smile painting his face. 

“It’s been good man, rainy, but good. How ‘bout Vegas?” Matty smiled, genuinely happy to be back at the lake. 

“Good, really hot, but also fun.” Brendan laughed, as he tried to mimic what Matty had said.

“Oh, hey. You must be Phoebe, rude of me not to introduce myself. I’m Matty.” He said, offering a hand to shake as Phoebe wrapped him into a hug.

“No need for pleasantries, if Lukey likes you so do I. How was your flight?” 

Brendan tried not to acknowledge the pang of jealousy he’d felt when Phoebe had so easily offered his friend a hug. She hadn’t hugged him when she’d seen him again, and Luke liked him more than Matty! He knew it wasn’t fair, knew their relationship was different, but it still hurt. 

“It wasn’t that bad actually, I got to watch some movies I wanted to see and catch up on my sleep.” Matty said, a charming smile plastered onto his face.

Brendan frowned.

“Ooh. What movies did you see? I watched Spiderman in the car yesterday. Tobey Maguire, obviously.” Phoebe said, clearly lapping up Matty’s unwavering charm.

“Oh well obviously Maguire was the best Spider-man, but Garfield was the better Peter Parker. And don’t get me started on Holland. His Spider-man had it so easy. As for the movies I watched, I saw the new hockey romance movie, Odd Time Rush, and I also started the Elvis movie but I fell asleep like halfway through.” He smirked, looking at Phoebe.

“Didn’t peg you as a romance guy, but I guess the hockey part makes sense. All work all the time.” She said, rolling her eyes.

“What did you peg me as, huh? You just met me, there’s so much to get to know.” Matty winked, as Phoebe chuckled.

“Alright guys that’s enough. Get a room.” Brendan said, finally having enough of their banter and skulking away to Phoebe’s room.

so obviously it’s before the draft and carson is doing school remotely during this time so brendan maybe comes over and they are hanging out and he just kisses her so shyly and they are just in the basement when this happens

brendan kisses carson. they are watching a movie and talking about college and classes and everything and then brendan just can’t control himself and kisses her.

“carson i am so sorry, i don’t know why i did that,” brendan pulls away. “no! its okay!” she is breathing heavily and just is so shocked at the moment. “bren i am okay with you kissing me.”

he takes the opportunity to kiss her again softly when his hand cups her face, deepening the kiss, the door at the top of the basement stairs opens.

“cars!” luke says. luke is a senior in high school at the time. carson and brendan split quickly, both red in the face and thinking about what just happened between them. “cars! briss!”

“down here!” carson finally gasps, catching her breath. “mom wants to know if briss is staying over or going back to campus.”

“back to campus,” brendan stutters. “i have to um, practice in the morning.”

luke leaves them alone again. “carson i really want to kiss you again,” brendan says. he pecks her lips softly and pulls away. “i should head out, i have practice and class tomorrow.”

she walks him out to his car and they both silently and awkwardly stand there for a second. “i’ll text you when i get to my dorm,” he nods before getting into his car.

she goes inside and tells ellen

"Hi, Bren, how are you?"

The girl turned around, noticing the guy approaching her, and smiled. Surprisingly, this human could literally lift the mood of everyone around him with his mere presence.

"Hi, I'm repeating the role." Brenna ran her eyes over the first lines of the script once again. "Carlos and Jane have such an awkward and at the same time sweet relationship. Will it be interesting to play lovers, what do you think?"

"You don't have to act much for that," Cameron chuckled, sitting down next to her. "Kenny just decided to use us to the maximum. I remember there was this show, I was about six years old. It turned out that the actors who played the couple in it were dating in real life."

"You mean Ricky Ullman and Alyson Michalka?" Vague memories of the Diffie family from childhood appeared in her head. "They really did look good together."

"And we can do even better." He gently touched her temple with his lips. "I solemnly swear that the fans will love Carlos and Jane."

"They will," Brenna said confidently. "There are so many interesting moments."

"My favorite was the one near the very end. When Carlos does this," the guy began, gently taking her hands in his, "thereby showing that they're in a relationship."

The girl couldn't help but stare at his shining eyes, the color of which was reminiscent of chocolate. Well, he really did look like a human embodiment of a patronus. So sincere, lively, positive and brave. A few years ago, when new episodes of "Jessie" were shown on TV, she and her sister constantly followed the new adventures of Luke Ross, his character. When she was told that the new project would be a joint one with that very actor, Brenna felt joyful excitement right up until the first day of filming. In person, Cameron Boyce turned out to be the same as he was in all the interviews. He was constantly smiling, supported everyone and could start dancing at any free moment. It was hard not to fall in love. Surprisingly, he responded in kind.

"Bren? Bren!" the guy called out with a chuckle once again, and she shuddered, returning from her own thoughts. "Do I have such a hypnotic gaze?"

"How else did Luke charm all the girls?" the girl chuckled, remembering the amazing failures in relationships of his character.

"You don't understand, it's all about the freckles!" Cameron said with an air of importance, touching his forehead to hers. "Look how beautiful they are."

"How did you know I've always wanted to see them up close?"

"Because dreams come true." With these words, he kissed her, touching her cheek with his palm.

Some on-set acquaintances bring much more happiness into your life than you could have predicted.

No, I get what you mean, lol - I'm not a Jordan/Brendan shipper shockingly but I think I would do it something like:

Jordan wanders into his room when Brendan's texting Owen, not really sexting yet, but getting there, and he plops onto the bed with a look on his face that means he wants to ask something that he knows Brendan won't like.

"Bren, you know," he stops for a few seconds, so clearly searching for the right words that Brendan's curiosity is definitely piqued. "You've fucked Luke, right?"

"Which Luke," Brendan asks, just to be an asshole because he knows exactly who Jordan's talking about, he was checking out Lukey the whole time they were all at the lakehouse last month.

jordan wants to fuck bby huggy, he texts Owen, smirking when Owen sends back, 🤣🤣

The NES and SNES' video output is stretched horizontally to fit a 4:3 aspect ratio, while the PC's 320×200 modes are stretched vertically.

The as-yet unnamed Corti platformer is currently set up to simulate the latter, with a 320x200 base resolution, and I'm seriously considering using bigger character art...
