Kamru Fort Hidden Gem- Sangla Kinnaur Himachal Pradesh Kamru fort is a beautiful fort situated in Kamru village near to Sangla. Kamru Fort has a graceful wooden balcony and at the top of the building is an idol of Kamakhya Devi (Kamakshi Devi). This stunning fort is enveloped by snow capped mountains, dense forests, and lush green fields and is adorned with beautiful wooden carvings. It is especially known for the tower-like fort at its highest point, which was built by Lord Badhrinath Ji thousands of year ago. June to November is the snowfree period in himalayan cold deserts, so that different types of plant bloom with different colors. This is the only species among other species of Rosa family which survive in very high altitude areas even cold deserts... locally known as "Ladakhi rose" or "Jungli gulaab". Finally reached the grassland in the Alpine zone after crossing the India's last village towards Tibet. Actually the tourists are not allowed in Chitkul Wildlife area because of BSF security for China border, we had the special permission from forest department. This is actually the part of Baspa river valley which is the extended part of Sangla valley. Really I was just spellbound with the beauty of Kinnaur, in the winter season I couldn't see this properly due to snowcover. While coming back we found some gujjars with their horses...it was really enchanting moment to make it as a frame combined with grasses, horses and snow capped mountains together.
