A jaguar rests on the banks of the Miranda River in the Brazilian Pantanal. The Pantanal, the rich ecosystem shared by Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay, is the world’s largest wetland. This month more than 2,300 wildfires have broken out in the area, with unusually hot weather and lack of rain to blame.
