everyone always asks me why i like brav.ely default when i cant talk about it without complaining that i think the story and characters are boring and i dont care at all about them and. gameplay. gameplay man it hits EVERY SINGLE THING i could have ever asked for in gameplay mechanics. do NOT underestimate how much shit i will put up with if u let me grind to my hearts content with minimal effort. DOUBLY so if it has auto battles and TRIPLY SO with BD's whooooole special mechanic of. letting each character hit 4 times in the first turn, effectively killing all grindable enemies in one turn i couldnt ASK for a better gameplay experience. eveyr other jrpg will fall sort of brav.ely default gameplay to me bc... NO OTHER GAME LETS YR WHOLE TEAM HIT 4 TIMES EACH OPENING BATTLE 😭😭
#do NOT @ me about bravely default 2 they took out the auto battle and random encounters#AND EVEN LESS INTEREST IN bravely second i TRIED it but i.. cant fuckign stand yew i hate him so fucking much!!#hes so annoying and THEY TRAPPED AGNES IN A CRYSTAL SO SHES NOT EVEN PLAYABLE AAAAA#her and tiz are the BEST PARTS of bravely default story and with a huge shift focus to yew the storys EVEN MORE UNBEARABLE i wont do it dbs#bravely rorfault

for all the lackluster story/character elements in brav.ely default i gotta say it will always reign supreme in gameplay for me. normally i just go nuts about the combat/auto battle/ease of grinding/battle mechanics but TODAY im thinking about. how easy it is to just step back into it after a break and know exactly what im meant to be doing next EVEN IF I STOPPED REALLY FAR IN THE GAME.
like honestly? being able to look at airy's wings at any given moment in the main screen and go 'oh yeah, cool, so im just this far away from the final boss?' is iconic and amazing and i love it sooooo so much. how fucking cool to put something endgame right in front of yr face in such a way that new players wont notice but veterans will ALWAYS pay attention to. brav.ely default gets the W for this <333
