Change in Refrain is a 12-page, digest size, B&W comic written & illustrated by Brad Dwyer. http://braddwyer.tumblr.com/
Change in Refrain is an autobiographical comic about Brad’s longtime passion for music and playing guitar. Brad reflects on memories of getting his first guitar and playing various gigs with local punk bands. As time goes by his interests and responsibilities change while his beloved guitar waits for him in the corner collecting dust.
Brad’s layout and pacing makes for flawless storytelling. His cartoony illustrative approach meshes well with the upbeat emotion of the story and keeps the reader engaged with panels full of detail!

Date Night Armageddon is a 12-page digest size B&W jam comic written & illustrated by Damon Begay and Brad Dwyer.
A mutant frog like creature is on the hunt for a witch it was bred to find. Meanwhile, a young man and woman talk about a movie they’ve recently seen during their date. The hungry frog creature sees the couple and decides it’s time to dine! The young couple continue on their way blissfully unaware of the danger lurking about! And then there’s the giant mechanical menace being pursued by a team of airborne fighters!
Damon and Brad spin a yarn that ties all the elements of the story neatly together with action and comedic horror. The art is detailed and clean with an old-school bold line look to it. The frog character really jumps out and two splash pages included at the end of the comic provide a nice comparison of styles (I assume Brad drew one page and Damon the other?).
You can go gigging for the mutant creature in Date Night Armageddon and see more of Damon and Brad’s stuff at (Damon Begay’s site) http://interstellarcomix.wordpress.com/ and (Brad Dwyer’s sites) http://braddwyer.tumblr.com/ http://epictalesofthemundane.blogspot.com/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Epic-Tales-of-the-Mundane/218119190126

Get Into Comix is a 74-page, perfect bound, digest size, B&W autobio comic with color covers written & illustrated by Brad Dwyer. http://braddwyer.tumblr.com/
In this hefty little comic Brad tells the story of how comics, punk rock, and acne all played a significant role in his life and led him to where he is today. Through the pages Brad reveals his struggles with drawing, the unwanted attention that brought, and the self-doubt that plagued him as an artist. He also discloses his tribulations with acne as a teenager and the scars that left behind. Brad goes on to describe how he got into punk rock and a somewhat self-destructive lifestyle and how that brought him back to...comix!
The writing in Get Into Comix really comes across as being authentic. Brad lays bare the events of his life in an interesting and entertaining series of well-drawn vignettes. His writing maintains a steady tempo as he walks us through the highs and lows of life growing up in a desert town. His illustrations convey the same sense of authenticity that sacrifices detail in favor of raw emotion. You can almost feel Brad’s angst radiating off the pages. Get Into Comix is a great read with solid art!

I've been working on this "Ape-Men of the Apocalypse" book for awhile now, with the intention of releasing it as an 80-pg, square bound book. But the way I'm drawing it is very time consuming, and the fact that I'm working on other projects (mostly autobio stuff) that have to adhere to deadlines means I'm going to have to split "Ape-Men..." into 2 parts/issues. Otherwise, it's going to be a really, really long time until it sees print. #comics #diy #apemenoftheapocalypse #braddwyer #comicart
