Complain, complain (braces suck)

I have been so busy with homework!!!  I had this 10 page paper to write that I've been working on basically since the beginning of the quarter.  I told myself I was going to finish it early so I could begin working on my photo albums (which I'm 2 months behind on BTW... I want to show people my Hawaii pictures!!!).  It would be really nice to have a full two weeks before the next quarter starts to just do photo albums instead of homework.

Anyway, last week the teacher says we have 3 weeks to complete the paper, but I wanted to be sure I had it done early, so I began working on it.  Today I go online to submit my paper, and the teacher issued an apology, saying he needed the papers in by Tuesday and he hoped that didn't cause any problems. 

Boy am I glad I finished it early, or I'd be in trouble!  I guess all that research on procrastination paid off :)

I am still getting used to these braces.  I'm a little bummed I had to get them put on a week after having the infection in my jaw worked on because I didn't get to do all those last minute things like chew a bunch of gum or eat a lot of sticky candy.  I won't get the opportunity for at least another 2-3 years.  I'm already making a list of things I want to eat as soon as these things come off.  Not to mention my mouth is still sore.  It's been sore for almost 2 months now!  I just want to be bale to eat something besides applesauce and soup again.  The inside of my mouth is seriously all red and sore.

The orthodontist gave me some dental wax and told me to apply it to the brackets.  I did, but it doesn't really work unless you apply quite a lot.  I'm going to run out of the packets they gave me in a week, so I went online to see how much I could buy them for.  Most sites sold the dental wax for between $2-$4 a container (which would last me about a week).  That was too expensive for me, so I kept looking.  I found a site selling them for $17.99 a case (50 in a case).  So I bought a case, and now I don't have to feel silly about using a lot of wax.  I can basically use as much as I want.  I'm happy, and at least my mouth won't be quite as sore.

I feel like a little kid saying all of this (having orthodontic problems) but hey ,I do have braces.  I feel sorry for any kid who has to wear these things!  They really impair your ability to do things like eat.  They are quite uncomfortable, especially when you're trying to focus (like studying).  And they hurt!  Not to mention all the care they require.  I'm brushing my teeth 6-7 times a day, flossing, and cleaning out wax (then re-applying it).  I don't know how kids are expected to do all that and... wait a minute.  Listen to me :)  That's the "psychologist" in me talking.  I'll shut up now.

I guess I'll probably get used to them. 

I wish I had more time for reading.  I love to read and I've been so busy lately I haven't had time.  Even when "relaxing" while we are camping I have 3 kids to keep an eye on and it doesn't happen.  Maybe once I finish school... or maybe I should entertain the idea of taking the summer off.  Ha!  No chance of that!

I know once I take a break I'll have a hard time going back to school, so I don't even want to think about that.  I'll probably end up just taking a 2 unit class, but at least I won't be taking a break.
