Kim Taedong x OC

Type: bulletpoint scenario

P.S: idc about what everyone else says, I’ll still consider Taedong as a part of JBJ and always will. Even the current members consider him as one so ;-;♥

It was only a week left before school starts again

So you and your group of friends decided to hang out and have some drinks

You all decided to go to a chicken restaurant you and another friend of yours frequented

And you were all having a blast

Joking, laughing, just literally having fun

“It’s finally the beginning of our last year in college, guys”

“Y/n’s not gonna graduate with us”

“WATCH ME!!”

They’d often tease you but you honestly got used to it

In the middle of the session you started to finally feel the alcohol get into your head

You often laughed mindlessly because of the alcohol too

And your friends literally laughed at you too

So they decided to do dares while everyone was at the peak of amusement

“When was the last time you kissed someone?”

“Uhhhhh….. two? three years ago…”

Everyone gasped at you admitting you haven’t kissed anyone in a while

And you were just looking at them all confused

“So? I don’t need to date anyone to make it seem like I’m not lonely”

All the others were nodding in approval

“But hey, would you kiss a stranger now?”

“Depends if he’s cute.”

Everyone looked at you and smirked

“Kiss that guy over there by the pool table”

You turned to see someone who was pretty good looking to your eyes

You slowly stood up and looked at your friends

“You are all so raunchy”

“Come on, it’s just a one time thing! You’re not gonna remember him anyway and neither will he remember you”

“True”

You walked up to the guy who was standing by the pool table playing with his friends

You were relieved the place was quite dark and the neon lights around were quite dim

You tapped him on the shoulder and he looked at you

“Hi”

“Hi, may I help you?”

You smirked before you even continued

“I think I might need your help with something.”

You pulled his shirt to make his face meet yours

And you didn’t even hesitate to lock your lips with him

He was so surprised but heck he thought you were a great kisser

So he just kissed you back

And his friends were literally almost mortified

But they ended up cheering both of you on

“Way to go Taedong!”

“Dude, Taedong’s hit the jackpot”

“Hot damn”

You just smiled in the kiss and pulled out as your wiped your lips

Taedong was literally staring into your eyes

“I had fun. Bye”

You waved and turned to go to where your friends were

And Taedong just literally stared at you and became all confused

One of his friends laughed and pat his shoulder

“Wait, you didn’t know her?”

“No…”

“She’s a catch, man”

“I’m probably never gonna see her again”

You chuckled as you heard them talk while you walked away

But heck you didn’t wanna turn back in case he was gonna see a clear view of your face

Your friends literally cheered once they saw you go to them since they saw the whole thing

“My my, y/n”

“What? He was kinda cute”

“Didn’t you get his number?”

“It’s just a one time thing, like you said”

You expected Taedong to go to you but you never saw him again after the kiss

Probably because your table was pretty far and hidden from the view of the pool area

After that night you did your best to forget everything that had happened

And you literally just laughed whenever the thought of the kiss came into your mind

“Never again”

Fast forward to the next week

Finally school has started and you walked your way to your first schedule

Just a class in Physics, no big deal

You saw your friends save you a seat next to them

And after all the hi-5’s you sat down and just chit chatted with them

Until two guys went inside the room

And you literally gulped the moment you saw one of them

“What’s wrong?”

“….It’s Taedong”

Help

But for some reason he saw you but didn’t even budge

Like as if you were just some stranger

He sat about three seats away from you since you were sitting at the back

And you tried to hide your face in your shirt

You even sunk into your own seat a bit so that he wouldn’t notice you

“Please please please I hope he doesn’t remember me”

“The place was dark, y/n. He can’t remember you that easily.”

You gave a bit of a sigh because you wanted to believe your friend

But something in your gut made you feel quite embarrassed of the whole situation

Once your professor arrived he greeted you all and immediately grabbed the list of students

“Alright so I’m gonna group you all so that you can all get to know each other since I know this class is a mix of students from different courses”

You widened your eyes as you waited for the groupings to start

But of course, you got into the same group as Taedong

You smiled as you slowly turned away from Taedong’s direction

But again he didn’t really budge or anything

Everyone introduced themselves and you were trying to listen but you couldn’t

Once it was your turn you suddenly felt shaky

“Hi my name is… y/n…. I’m a senior under the Science Department, majoring in Biology”

You gulped once you were done and you literally looked away

And once it was Taedong’s turn he just smiled at everyone

“My name’s Taedong. Senior, Fine Arts Department. I moved here from a different university”

No wonder you never saw him other than at the restaurant before

Once the introductions were done the professor then decided to start on another pairing

“Okay, so I’m going to pair everyone since I want all of us to do an experiment.”

You felt your heart beat fast again

You really hoped you wouldn’t be paired with Taedong too

Anyone but him

I mean, what are the odds there’s like 26 of you in class

“Ms. y/n and…. Mr. Kwon Hyunbin.”

AMEN

You grinned as you looked around to find your partner

But you realized it was the guy Taedong walked in the class with

Damn it

Your professor decided to end class early so you all could prepare to go to your other classes

And you literally fast walked your way past Taedong’s seat while he wasn’t looking away

“Um, excuse me?”

Oh no

Taedong called for you as you suddenly stopped walking

And you slowly turned your head to him, trying to hide your face with your shoulder

“You dropped your handkerchief”

“Oh phew I’m sorry.”

You looked down and grabbed the handkerchief from his hand and immediately ran fast out of the room

Taedong was confused and literally thought you acted weirdly

But he just shrugged and slowly looked at Hyunbin who was next to him and saw the whole thing

“What’s with her?”

“I don’t know”

“I’m beginning to think I’m gonna have a hard time as her experiment partner”

You walked your way towards your friends who were waiting outside

“Please let’s go I think he knows”

And everyone walked away and all of you went to your next class

The whole day you were anxious

You were scared of seeing Taedong again

But you were relieved that you only had that class with him

So the next day all of you went with your pairs in class to prepare for the experiment

Hyunbin looked at you while you were taking notes next to him

And he wondered why you looked so familiar

“Have I seen you before?”

You widened your eyes as you looked at him

“No you haven’t”

“Wait”

“No”

“I think I saw you at the mall the other day”

Really you little shit

He just chuckled as you shook your head and went back to writing

You and Hyunbin did get along pretty well

Especially because you both knew what to do with the experiment

The next couple of weeks you barely even remembered the whole Taedong thing

Like it never crossed your mind as often as it did

And you began to think that maybe Taedong didn’t know nor remember

Until

He saw you somewhere in the cafeteria and literally called your name

“Hey y/n”

You looked at him as if it was the first time you met him

“Yes?”

“Hyunbin asked me to get your number so that he could call you anytime about the class experiment”

So you nodded and typed your number in his phone

You smiled as you walked away but Taedong suddenly stopped you with just five words

“I had fun last time”

Mom save me

You suddenly got irritated because he sounded as if he mocked you

So you turned to look at him with furrowed brows

“So you knew all along, huh?”

“Ever since I saw you in class, of course.”

“It was just a dare please forget about it”

“Nope.”

He smirked as he crossed his arms while looking at you

And this made you quite a bit fumed

“Hey this isn’t the time for you to tease me about a dare. We’re adults here”

“I’m not teasing you, I’m just saying”

You rolled your eyes and marched back on your way

And Taedong just chuckled as he shook his head and walked the other way

For a while this continued on

Taedong would often look at you

And you’d just roll your eyes

Or even give a stank eye

And he’d just chuckle in the end

But what surprised you was that ever since you and Hyunbin became partners in the next few experiments you all had for the past three weeks

You suddenly developed a crush on him

Because he was nice and really helpful

Plus his smile suddenly makes you feel fuzzy inside

You definitely loved going to class because of him

And you wondered if he was even seeing someone

You believed he wasn’t so why not have a little bit of crush on him

Maybe even flirt with him lowkey

“Hey, y/n. Can you hold the beaker for a while?”

“Sure”

The moment you grabbed the beaker yours and Hyunbin’s hands touched each other

And this made you blush a bit

And Hyunbin just smiled at you

Goodness gracious this man is a work of art

It wasn’t long until Hyunbin suddenly asked you something during one of your classes

“Hey, you know Taedong, right?”

“Yeah why?”

“Just wanna say that I remembered you because you kissed him at a restaurant last month”

Save me

You looked at him and gave a nervous chuckle

“Um, please I was drunk that time…”

“But you both look cute?”

“Oh my God no I’m never swerving to his lane”

“Why not? He fell for you at first sight you know”

“That’s cute, but no”

“Wait are you dating someone or liking someone else?”

“I like someone, I just can’t tell who”

“Why not?”

“Because”

You looked at him and blinked a couple of times before you ended up laughing while trying to mix the fluids of your experiment

“Because what?”

“He probably doesn’t like me back.”

“Who knows?”

Hyunbin turned away to write some notes on the experiment

And you suddenly gave a small smile

Once class was over that day you suddenly crossed paths with Taedong

You rolled your eyes as you turned to go to the other side

“Wait”

He called and you just looked at him confused

“I know you like Hyunbin but there’s something you need to know”

You sighed as he tried to talk to you but you were becoming stubborn

“Look, about me liking someone… it’s really not your business.”

“No wait please just listen”

“Bye Taedong”

You smiled as you walked away and continued on going to your next class

Taedong just looked at you and he felt kind of sad

Because he developed a huge crush on you and always looked at you in class

But your eyes were always fixed to Hyunbin’s so of course he figured you liked him

He didn’t give up on liking you though because he thought you were really pretty

And you were really attentive in class to a point where you and Hyunbin got the highest score in the experiment one time

The rest of the day you felt relaxed and just forgot about the whole Taedong thing

“I’m over it”

You’d tell that to your friends and would even often laugh about how pathetic it was

Once you were done with classes you walked out of the campus and saw Hyunbin stand by the entrance

You gathered your courage to just go to him and hang out with him while you can

Until

You saw a girl go up to him

And he kissed her

Ouch

You felt your heart drop the moment you saw them walk away together

I mean, you didn’t really have to feel really sad about it

Because Hyunbin just looked at you as a friend, a classmate, a lab partner

But you actually did like him a lot

“Why does this always happen to me”

You pouted and just walked as you looked down

Taedong went out of the building to see you walk slowly

Looking so worn out

He didn’t want to bother you in any way

But he felt really bad about you looking like you were moping around

So he ran towards you and you got startled once he was in front of you

“Whatever you’re gonna say I already know”

Taedong just looked at you perplexed

“What?”

“Ehh you know”

He looked around and didn’t really realize what you were trying to say

“Look I don’t wanna make it seem like I’m trying to be an enemy all because I tease you all the time to the point where you’re pissed but right now I just want to be your friend and know what’s wrong”

You sighed and looked at him because he sounded quite serious this time

He really just wanted to hear you out because he seemed quite apologetic for teasing you a lot

“I saw Hyunbin and his girlfriend…”

Taedong just opened his mouth in shock and looked around

“A-are you okay?”

“I’m good. I admit I liked him but hey I can’t do anything about it.”

Silence followed as you both just looked around while you turned to stand next to him

“Hey there’s still a lot of guys out there, it’s fine”

“Yeah I suppose”

“I’m sorry for teasing you a lot. And we have to be mature on the whole kiss thing, forget about it.”

“I’ve forgotten about it long ago. It’s you who can’t move on.”

“Sorry”

You smiled at Taedong because he was starting to become friendlier

And he kind of made you laugh a bit that time

“My crush on Hyunbin’s gonna fade away anyway”

“You deserve better. You deserve me.”

You looked at Taedong and furrowed your brows

“What?”

“I-I said you deserve meat. Wanna get some samgyupsal?”

“Okay”

“We can have soju after…”

“No”

“Alrighty then”

Aight, who the hell are JBJ you might ask? I’ma answer your question in a few steps. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. Or not. Whatever.

Group Name: JBJ (Just Be Joyful)

JBJ is a fan created group of eliminated Produce 101 Season 2 contestants. It was inspired by the fan created group IBI from Produce 101 Season 1.

At first, the initials stood for the saying “Please give us more screentime” in Korean, but fans eventually changed it because they just wanted the members to be happy

Group originally consists of 7 members, but 1 of them is currently inactive because he’s having troubles with his company

Our fandom name is Joyful, and JBJ love us even if we a hot mess LOL

Has 2 music videos out: Fantasy and My Flower, and they are certified BOPS

Members:

Noh Taehyun

The oldest and leader of this daycare GROUP

Also a member of hotshot

Smol baby, he only 5’6”

Roommates with Donghan

A MASTER OF KRUMPING, A MASTER OF SINGING, A MASTER OF BEING PERFECT

Cried the hardest during their first win, and it started making all the other members cry too

When Ha Sungwoon was a candidate for first place, Noh Taehyun was even happier than him, and I just honestly think it’s so beautiful how Taehyun never really focused too much on himself, but instead supported and cheered for Sungwoon and other trainees

I honestly believe he’s one of the best leaders because he’s so selfless and just wants the best for everyone

Can’t keep his clothes on

JBJ had to fulfill a penalty on a live broadcast and Sanggyun said they couldn’t do the sleeping one because he could only sleep naked, and then Joyfuls started flooding the comments saying they should do the sleeping penalty LOL

Is very charismatic on stage, but a fool every other time

Roommates with Kenta and likes to tease him a lot

Tbh, sanggyun has suffered a lot, like he didn’t make it big with toppdogg, and then he went on this show to be treated as a trainee again, but then they didn’t give him a lot of attention, and eventually he got eliminated, but now he’s doing a lot better, and i honestly hope that life just gets better for him, i love him sm

Is Japanese

A huge fanboy. You can find predebut videos of him at K-Pop concerts LOL

Especially fond of Teen Top’s Ricky

Gets teased a lot by the other members, but mainly Sanggyun and Donghan

Before JBJ, he went on Heyo TV with other PD 101 Trainees and they were a group called Prinsix, and when RBW’s Lee Gunhee kept referring to him as Kenta, Cube’s Yoo Seonho got all sulky and went “Kenta HYUNG.”

Cried the second hardest during their first win, and like??? Can you imagine?? Moving to a foreign country and starting your career from the bottom up, and not even being assured that you’ll actually DEBUT or even become somewhat popular, and going on a shitshow like pd101 that only cares about like 10 of the trainees at most? Damn, i could never. He literally deserves the world.

Is sleepy 25/8 and doesn’t understand what’s happening half the time

Also loves cats alot. He brought his two cats to live in the JBJ dorm, even though Sanggyun and Taehyun are allergic

Roommates with Hyunbin

Was too insecure about himself in the beginning, so no one knew he was a vocal, and made everyone SHOOK when he unleashed his singing skills

But, in all seriousness sometimes yongguk isn’t confident in himself, and it breaks my heart because he’s such a beautiful human and he works so hard, so everyone and anyone that has a problem with yongguk GOTTA GET THROUGH ME FIRST, COME AT ME, HOME GIRL WILL THROW SOME HANDS FOR YONGGUK

Almost made it to Top 20, but Guanlin took 20th place instead, and you could honestly see how yongguk was a little disappointed that he was so close but missed the chance by a single place, but now he’s in jbj and a lot of people love him, and y’all should CONTINUE TO LOVE HIM pls.

Also was in the survival show Boys24, but he got eliminated

JBJ members agree that he’ll always be a part of JBJ, and that’s another reason why I love them all so much, like bless

His former company deadass released a statement trying to claim he “changed after getting popular on produce 101” and that’s honest bullshit, because after the show ended, they lost ALL their trainees, and Taedong was just the one unfortunate enough to be stuck facing an actual contract termination, and now a lot of the fans and the jbj members are worried about him and just want to make sure he’s okay

He’s precious and a sunshine and I hope that he finds happiness soon

Kwon Hyunbin

The first model-turned-idol

Everybody was shook when he entered the room for the first time cause he was tall AND hot

Attended an international school in Japan, so he can speak some English and Japanese

Improved A LOT since the beginning. Like, if you watch his first audition of My House by 2PM, then watch the dance practice for My Flower, you will be shook

ALSOALSOALSO, he cried when Jonghyun didn’t make it into Wanna One, and I just think that’s the sweetest thing ever because it just shows how much he cares for the people that helped him and didn’t give up on him

BOYS24 Confession

(write this because i can't accept the fact that boys24 is ended ;-;)

so, i start watch boys24 bcs many people say that it's pd101 boy version and at that time i'm really addicted to pd101 (i must admit that it's also bcs haejoon's photo teaser lol (HE'S SO DAMN HANDSOME)). But i'm little bit dissapointed when i see the first episode, because honestly they're not really handsome. BUT I MUST ADMIT THAT THEY'RE SOOOOOO TALENTED. I'M IN SHOOK WHEN I WATCH HONGIN'S DANCE PERFORMANCE. It's so touching:')). Idk why but i immediately fallin love with jinseok, despite of his impressive dance and rap skill, his smile is also really cute. So bcs of my curiousity i start to follow this program. AND DANG I FALLIN IN LOVE WITH DOHA IN EPISODE 3 AND HE'S BEEN MY ULTIMATE BIAS UNTIL NOW. From ep. 3 too my fav unit is become unit white><

If you like survival show and you've never watch boys24, i bet you will like it when you're see it. It's like the most cruel survival show ever. I've been watching many mnet's idol survival show from mydol, win, mix & match, no.mercy, pd101, pentagon maker, dob, pd101 s2 and on going idol school (oh yes i've never watch sixteen and finding momoland, i would like too but i'm really busy at that time;-;) but all of them is nothing compared to b24. In boys24, the elimination is not only based on audience or judges but also from IT'S OWN UNIT MEMBER like in ep. 3 and 6 & 7. I JUST CANT IMAGINE HOW IT'S FEEL FOR THEM BCS THEY MUST ELIMINATED THEIR OWN FRIEND :'((. Also like in ep. 4, 5 and 8 they are eliminating the WHOLE UNIT MEMBER based on audience vote and judges point. And the cruelty is not end in the last episode. They also held concert like 2 or 3 days EVERY WEEK, even the members line up is change every day, stil they must do it 260 TIMES SINCE LAST YEAR. many members are injured and the other must replace them. It's been physically and mentally tiring for them :((

I know compared to pd101, boys24 is total flop, they're really not popular (even former boys24 member who compete in pd101 like taedong, gwanghyun and insoo is more popular than them). BUT IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT. we can't forget legendary stage of Unit Yellow - HER, Unit Sky - Just Right, Unit Green - On and On, Unit White - Com'back and also Unit Red - Starlight. They're really talented. Their company cj e&m also didn't treat them good. Like when sungho is cut from Unit Black line up and can't become unit red's leader because there's bullying rumour about him, they say sungho need times to reflect himself. I don't if that rumour is true or not but many fans said that's just hoax and sungho is cut out because cj didn't want it ruin unit black's debut. Cj also forbid them to use sns, when jinseok is break that rule many fans said that cj is treat jinseok poorly. Even in this final, many fans said that not only jinseok who doesn't want to debut under cj e&m but also doha, yonghyun, woojin, changmin, chani, minhwan and jihyeong (for jinseok case, he say he doesn't want to be idol anymore). I mean if there's nothing wrong to cj why these members doesn't want to debut under them. Bcs if we think directly, doha and yonghyun is really can make it to final 9 since their fandom is great and they also unit black member

So, i just want to say let's support boys24 ot27 member. For the final debut member congratulations!!! (I'M REALLY SHOCK ABOUT ISAAC, I BET MALAYSIAN FANS IS REALLY PROUD OF HIM:') I'M SO SO SO HAPPY) let's support them so they can get rookie award, i know it's hard because there is wanna one and kard (i even don't know kard will enter for female or male group nomination since they're coed group XD) (ACTUALLY THESE TWO GROUP ALSO MY FAV LOL XD)) but let's cheering hard for them. And for the other 18 members, i know that you will make it big since all of you is so talented. Thanks for this past 1 year. I'll forever will be H:Our for 27 members (FOR OT48 ACTUALLY. SINCE I LOVE ALL OF THEM, except you know who......). Let's walk in flower path together (i really like this phrase these days XD)

I’m sorry it took solong. I didn’t know that the setters would give me difficulty imagining them asan idol group. (Also because you said all… OTL.) BUT HERE IT IS!!!! ( I included members who are setters but haven’t been animated yet… so I guess this contains spoilers?)

The Group in General

- What can I say, this group is just full ofpretty people. ALL ULZZANGS I TELL YOU!

- This group also consists of mostly peoplewho project quiet, chic, and sassy image and they have been called the ‘FlowerBoy-dols’, ‘Model-dols’, ‘Sassy-dols’ and all other variants that people canthink off just to emphasize how beautiful (and sassy) they are.

- A lot of buzz had already surrounded thisgroup even before their debut, because some of them have experienced fame indifferent forms. Fangirls are easily baited. One look at the boys and theynever looked back.

- However, this was kind of a double edgedsword, because most people thought that they’re all just pretty faces with no actualtalent to back them up. (Haters do say the meanest things. They are most DEFINITELYWRONG of course.)

- But that was all behind them now. Theirfanbase is as strong as ever and they’re gaining more as they promote.

- So like, I kind of visualize that theircompany introduced the members of the group by dropping little hints/’facts’about the member all throughout the day, and will end with that member’s teaservideo and picture that details his profile.

- Then surprise, surprise! After that shortteaser video, they actually have a short intro video, recorded with V-Live.

- Imagine being a fangirl and doing this for10 days, every other day, just to die and resurrect again for the rest of themembers.

- Then they update with the album highlights,and MV teasers up until their official debut.

- When the MV had been released, and all ofthem have been introduced, they do a group v-live to formally introducethemselves as a group, inviting the support and love of the people.

The Members

Semi Eita – Eita is the Leader of the group. He alsoserves as the lead dancer and is mostly responsible for overlooking the member’sactivities. Eita started his career as back up dancer to some solo femaleartists, but he didn’t hesitate to join the agency when they recruited him. He’sthe kind of leader that doesn’t really step into the spotlight and is justcontent with letting the other member’s do their thing but knows when to puthis foot down. Always thanks fans for their gifts and for watching their liveperformances.

He’s like EXO’s Suhomixed with Ikon’s Junhoe. (IDK why…)

Sugawara Koushi – Koushi is theactual eldest of the group and serves as the lead vocalist as well as the Faceof the Group. Started as an ulzzang with an already good amount of followers,and he has the largest fanbase among all of them because of this. He wasdiscovered when he heeded the request of a fan to sing even just a short lineof a song. But since he likes to go the extra mile, he also played the guitar. Thoughhe may look innocent, fans are well aware of how much sass this boy possess, apparentwith his responses to fan questions over twitter and during fan meetings.

EXO’s Luhan is whocomes to mind for idol!Suga

Echigo Sakae – Echigo completesthe hyung line. He is the main vocals of the group because of his smooth RnBvibes. Echigo competed in a singing contest organized by the agency and he won2nd place over all, but it was enough to secure him a spot as atrainee. He’s a man of few words, but do not mistake his quietness for he is acertified deadpan snarker, to his members as well as the fans. He also likes totease the ‘middle children’ line, especially when their maknae does evil thingsto them.

Echigo is based off ofMBLAQ’s G.O, mixed with Big Bang’s Taeyang.

Akaashi Keiji – Keiji is the maindancer of the group. Develops their group’s choreography with Shigeru, withSemi occasionally lending a hand. Has quite a following, especially when hemade waves as the ‘boy who really danced well’ in one of the biggest dancestudios dance class video. It took a while for agency reps to scout him since hedoesn’t really want to become an idol and was content in dancing, but when heassisted one of the dance instructor for another idol group’s choreo, somehowchanged his mind. The long suffering responsible brother, despite being theactual youngest in the middle children line.

I would liken Keiji toEXO’s Kai.

Kozume Kenma – Kenma is the shyand young, lauded by fans as ‘genius producer-dol’ of the group. He’s veryskilled in song writing and composing, and most of the group’s songs areproduced by him, with members lending their hand in the lyrics. Sometimes, it’sthe other way around. The members collaborate with writing the lyrics, thenKenma makes a song out of it. Mostly works with a piano, but asks for Suga’shelp for guitars and Shirabu’s help when it comes to percussions. If he had thechoice, he would just stay inside the studio and make songs, but such is notthe case, so he serves as a sub-vocal (only because he doesn’t want to be inthe center of performances as much). He’s close to Keiji because he’s the onlyone who’s is warm but quiet among his same age peer.

Yahaba Shigeru – Shigeru acts as thegroup’s dancer and their unofficial variety representative. Before this though,he was thought to be the second Koushi, because he exudes the soft grace, thatisn’t far behind his hyung. All this was shattered when they guested at avariety show and became a complete fountain of laughter, because of his wittycomments and clever comeback lines. Often ‘butt’s heads’ with Shirabu and createdthe Wise Guy to Shirabu’s Straight Man. And they have created memes fans callthe “Shi-Shi’s” because of this. He is also game with cross-dressing, since headmits that its part of his charm.

SHINee’s KEY is myreference for Shigeru.

Shirabu Kenjiro – Shirabu comes froma family of actors, and was actually a child actor before he made the decision totrain and become an idol instead, in his desire to create a name for his own.It wasn’t unexpected for him to be in the spotlight with the rest of hisfamily, but people mostly expected him to follow his parents’ and brother’sfootsteps. But since his history with acting is not forgotten, he’s oftentapped to act in productions but he’s only accepted minor roles, since he wantsto focus more on his idol activities. He blends in well with the group andlends his support as vocals.

Think of Infinite’s L,as the image he projects, but he actually has BTOB’s Sungjae’s playfulness inhim.

Miya Atsumu – Miya is the mainrapper of the group and the one that completes the middle children line. Has alove-hate relationship with fans because of his resting bitch face that he usesto tease them with. But his performance on stage is something they all loveabout him. Has a twin brother, who is his complete opposite and wants to be faraway from the spotlight as possible. Ever since the fans learned about this,and how mature his brother is, they found a way to tease him back and calledthem “The Prince and Pauper”, with Atsumu being the pauper, much to hisannoyance.

I think the restingbitch face is a clue enough that EXO’s Kris is my reference for Atsumu.

Koganegawa Kanji – Kogane serves asthe second rapper of the group and is actually the older of the two members ofthe maknae line. He is the tallest among the group, earning him the nickname ‘Super-SizedMaknae’. He’s also painfully new in the idol industry, but his enthusiasm andwillingness to learn, as well as his hyung’s support, helped him become moreconfident in his skills, as well as his presence in the group. Another varietyrepresentative, because of his naivety and simple mindedness. Considered a 4Dmember by the fans, but despite this, they all find him lovable because of hisenergy and determination.

Kogane reminds me ofMBLAQ’s Mir.

Kageyama Tobio – Tobio is the otherhalf of the maknae line, and is the actual maknae of the whole group. But fansoften mistake Kogane to be this, because Tobio is often too serious, and doesn’tdisplay maknae tendencies. Absolutely hates doing aegyo and claims that he doesn’tknow how. Its cringe worthy whenever he tries (and he tries really hard), but whenhe’s not thinking about it though, it shows. Fans especially finds his squinting-poutyface adorable. The official visual of the group, and not to be confused withKoushi’s Face of the Group. They’re both considered visuals, but with differentimage/projection (Koushi is the warm to Tobio’s cold). He’s a dedicated all-rounder,although he usually plays more vocal parts.

Concept/s and Songs

- This group started out safely enough withsongs that are influenced by jazz, like B.A.P’sCoffee Shop and Whereare You, What are You Doing.

- Then they delved into the more ‘pop’ side,with concepts centered-around chic style and synchronized dance. Like Infinite’s Dashi Dorawa; BEAST’s Fiction;EXO’s Call Me Baby.

- The song that I seriously think fits themthe most is C-Clown’s Shaking Heart. I don’t know why butit just does.

- Other songs: Winner’s Really Really; VIXX’sError; Super Junior’s Devil.

- Of course, they couldn’t escape doing cutesongs like SHINee’s Replay and Hello; Got7’s A;Astro’s Breathless; Seventeen’s Mansae; lightheartedsongs like iKon’s #WYD; Super Junior’s No Otherand Why I Like You

The Future of the Trainees (part 6)

Shape of You Kim Taedong (Rank 25 -> Rank 28)

Chances – I’ll start by just saying how much I love his new hair color. And I honestly don’t really like idols wearing colored lenses especially because with it becoming a trend they’re seen on almost every idol even if doesn’t really suit them. But Taedong works that eye color surprisingly well especially when it’s paired with his hair. But I digress. Taedong’s story on the show isn’t really that showy but it’s a nice one overall. He got sorted into F (even though he really didn’t deserve it especially considering that his labelmates got B’s and a C), then followed Soomin in going up to A, was part of a team that won a performance on MCountdown (which was mainly thanks to the shitty team forming this season but nonetheless) and now was part of the performance which was considered the best by many (and taking Youtube views into account it was). And while he didn’t get any screentime due to the focus being on Taehyun, if there was a second member people payed attention to it was most likely Taedong (which is supported by the fact that his fancam is still in the Top 100 on Naver). Even though he did fall in ranks since the 5th episode I’m honestly pretty confident that he’s going to be alright. But I doubt he’ll make it further. Which is a shame because I would like to see at least one of the Boys24 boys succeed (and Taedong has the most chances) because how many survival shows can one person go through. The only upside is that both Taedong and Hyunwoo have gained some attention from the general public, so if their label is smart they will debut a group soon (with Jaechan of course).

Skills – Taedong is a really well-rounded trainee. I wouldn’t really name him as the best for any of the positions, but he’s a good and sharp dancer, a pretty decent singer and an okay rapper. He does, however, have great stage presence. Maybe it’s the side effect of his hair and lenses but he did look really good in ‘Shape of You’ and the only two members I payed attention to initially were Taehyun and Taedong.

Park Sungwoo (Rank 22 -> Rank 31) Chances - I'll be honest I did not understand why Sungwoo was as popular as he was (Rank 12 in the 1st episode). I don't have same beauty standards as Koreans so I didn't find him to be that handsome, I don't care much for abs and definitely cringed during his ranking performance. And, well, he's definitely grown on me over the episodes. He's very earnest, very nice towards all the younger trainees (they look like they’re very comfortable around him) and he does seem like he really does want to become better and is trying very hard not to be a bother to his teammates even if that's hard to achieve. Honestly, in the last performance he obviously wasn't good and a lot of the moves looked jerky and awkward but some moves actually looked decent and he didn't stand out from his performance. Sungwoo still deserved 6th place in his group (although him being higher than a lot of great dancers is preposterous). So Sungwoo's grown on me and grown as a trainee but I still think that he should be eliminated in the next episode. I feel like and asshole because he does seem like he wants to become an idol and I have a soft spot for the older trainees because I realize that the younger ones get more love due to their age and cuteness. But I just can’t imagine Sungwoo debuting as an idol. He might have a shot as an actor (everyone keeps saying that) or a model. He fell quite a bit since the 5th episode and he’s been virtually invisible in the last two episodes so I do think that he’s probably going to be eliminated. Whatever happens I genuinely wish him the best luck with all his endeavors.

Skills – He’s a pretty bad dancer but in both of his group performances he’s managed to blend in if nothing best which is the most you can expect from him after 1-2 weeks of practice. He’s an okay singer but definitely below average.

Noh Taehyun (Rank 26 -> Rank 32)

Chances - His rank fell but there's no need to worry about the next elimination especially considering the 110k bonus he received. But I'll get to that later. Boy, was it a nice edit for Taehyun in the 6th episode, one that he deserved entirely. Lots of people were talking about his evil edit in episode 3, but I honestly never though that Mnet had ir out for him. There was quite a bit of editing done to play up his and Sungwoon performance in the second episode (again completely deserving) with them being able to wake everyone up and BoA explicitly wondering how they failed as a group with the skills that they have. And while the Woojin vs. Taehyun fight could've been edited to ruin Taehyun, Mnet made sure to add a scene (in the dorm!) where Taehyun's teammates call him a nice guy and explain why he acted the way he did. Speaking of which, it was a little strange to me that Taehyun didn't fight at all (from what we've seen) for the leader role in his '10 out of 10 team'. It's obviously a position he's good at (and while I love Woojin to bits, I think being a leader, especially among people he isn't close with, doesn't come naturally to him) and a position he strives for at least when it comes to choreographing. But oh well, even if he didn't (or shouldn't have) show(n) his leadership skills in the last mission, he really shone in this one. I expect that part of it is thanks to his teammates being ones that don't mind being led. Also this mission really opened up him as a dancer. We got to see him krumping again in order to establish him as the best dancer according to many of the trainees, which we already know he's good at, but then he explicitly says that he wants to show that he's a versatile dancer. Smart move, because I doubt any B.O.I song will have a krumping choreography. It was a deserving win all in all and one that was gladly accepted by the public, partially due to the fact that we were explicitly shown lots of good dancers through dance battles which means that any one of them would've been accepted as number 1. (It's a whole other story for vocalists but that's for later.) Taehyun will make it into the Top 35 and even has a chance of getting into the Top 22, but, unfortunately, probably only if Sungwoon doesn't make it. Skills - I've already mentioned that he is a superb dancer. Despite being the shortest in his 'Shape of You' team, my eyes gravitated to him quite often even when he wasn't in the center. He's also a surprisingly good singer which came as a surprise to me during the '10 out of 10' performance because I only had Sungwoon to compare him to prior to the group mission who is a superior singer. I've seen some comments (not many but still a surprising amount) saying that Taehyun is not good at making stage expressions so I checked out his fancams and concluded that that was bull. While his expressions are minimal, they're always on point and charismatic and he can adapt to the concept.

Kim Donghan (Rank 37 -> Rank 34)

Chances – He rose in rank since the elimination so in episode 6 he was actually just barely in the Top 35. But he wasn’t really shown in the 6th episode when his team’s practice was shown and some of the trainees who weren’t in the Top 35 (Heeseok and Jinyoung) got storylines and screentime in the 7th episode. So it would be logical to assume that Donghan will be out in the next episode. But he is surprisingly popular for someone who doesn’t get that much attention from Mnet (his screentime in the 3rd episode was more to complement Hyunwoo’s story on the show than his own). I recently learned the skill of looking at the Top 100 videos on Naver and Donghan’s fancam video is still there despite him receiving no focus in the show and the ‘Shape of You’ performance coming out before all of the fancams. I ask constantly see people talking about him so it seems he’s quite popular. Which is why I actually think he’s going to make it into the Top 35 although I doubt he’ll pass the elimination after that. OUI entertainment has at least two other trainees and they’re not bad (Jaehyun was pretty close to making it into the Top 60 and got quite a lot of on-site votes during the group mission and Sungwook recently signed an advertisement deal) so the label can actually debut a group with a moderate chance of getting some attention upon debut though I am not sure that’s what they’ll decide to do.

Skills – He’s a good dancer and has really good stage presence. I don’t think I have to back this up with facts because I do think that most people agree with this. I’ll be honest, however, I did not even remember if Donghan is a vocalist or rapper because I couldn’t remember anything besides his dancing. So I went back and checked out his ‘Call Me Baby’ fancam and he’s pretty good. Not anywhere near remotely impressive but he is good in a way that you can rely on him to sing his part well and be stable doing it. And, honestly, that’s all I require from him.

Justin (Rank 31 -> Rank 48)

People have been constantly pointing out Justin’s cute looks and honestly that’s the only thing I associated with Justin from the start. Which didn’t do Justin any good because I always kept thinking that his cute looks are a way to compensate for his lack of talent and skills. Which isn’t true at all but I’ll get into that in the when I talk about his skills later. Either way Justin’s rank has been falling over the course of the show and I’m not completely sure about the reason. I saw a theory that said that Justin’s and JungJung’s ranks fell due to Mnet canceling Chinese votes. That could account for the latest drop but Justin’s rank from Rank 16 to 31 cannot be explained by that. Which I think was due to what I assumed at first. What I assumed at first was that due to nothing being made of Justin’s skills and his fame due to good looks slowly fading over time, he quickly lost the interest he gained at first. Either way Yuehua will probably debut them whether it’s by themselves (plus the other Yuehua trainees who were seen hanging out with Justin and JungJung) or with Starship trainees. And although it’s really hard for me to imagine a group with the bright Yuehua trainees and the cute but awkward Sewoon and Gwanghyun in it, I’m honestly hoping for that. It’s such an odd combination that I think it will work perfectly.

Skills – Honestly, it annoys me that so much was made of Justin’s looks and cuteness and nothing was made of his skills. Not only by Mnet but also by his fans! Because of that, I for some odd reason thought that Justin needs a lot more training before he can debut. But now looking back at his performances – everything that’s been asked of him, he did really well. Not perfectly, I wouldn’t call him my favorite in any of his performances but still very well. He’s honestly a pretty good dancer. I was going to say that he’s a pretty weak vocalist until I remembered that he’s a rapper. And as a rapper he’s also not that spectacular to be honest but that will probably come with more training (he’s only 16 after all). In fact that’s kind of what I think about all of the Yuehua trainees. They’re all kind of good but not spectacular now but with a little more training and experience they will obviously be a force to reckon with, especially if Starship trainees fill in the main and lead vocal positions that Yuehua trainees lack. Lee Junwoo (Rank 41 -> Rank 58)

Chances – Junwoo had passed the last elimination thanks to his ‘tatata’ dance and meme status. And unfortunately that’s all we were allowed to see of him in the episodes (unlike Taemin who showed a more serious side thank to his choice of position and song). It’s a shame that they didn’t even show that Junwoo managed to get a C rank with his ‘tatata’ dance and that this dance was also the only really funny thing shown about him (unlike Taemin, again who was also shook a bunch of times) so his meme status didn’t manage to keep Junwoo in the 30’s unlike Taemin. He also wasn’t shown much in his group’s practice so I expect him to be eliminated next episode. While I don’t think it’s too much of a shame although (meaning that I’m a little more upset about losing Seonglee and Hwangung and I will be really happy if Junwoo does make it), I do think it’s a shame that we didn’t get any focus on Junwoo’s pretty impressive dancing skills. I also don’t know his label and google search didn’t turn anything up, but I do hope that just like every other trainee on the show he gets to debut after it.

Skills – He is a pretty good dancer (not in the best 10 of this season but still) although you would only know that from episode 0 and the few shots he has in the ‘Shape of You’ performance. It is helped by the fact that he is quite tall and looks great dancing. I am though going to assume that he is a pretty weak vocalist. my p101 faves~ 1. Choi Minki - I didn’t care much about nu’est before p101, and boy, i regret it. The 4 on the show are such perfect idol-material, #boyfriendgoals, handsome, talented and most of all, have their individual charms. I’ll definitely start supporting them if they come back, which I hope they’ll do. Minki is my favorite, as I’m a huge fan of androgyny and I love his confidence in himself and his desire to overstep gender norms. He looks also really introspective and beautiful and reminds me of an elegant prince. 2. Ong Seongwoo. Seriously, am I the only one who thinks that he looks like an asian Dylan O’Brien? He’s super handsome and his expressions in Sorry Sorry give me all kinds of feels. Plus he’s great at dancing, a good singer and had been a trainee since middle school. Ong-ie really deserves to debut. 3. Kang Dongho. In episode 1 + 2 I didn’t get his hype but after his BIL performace I think that he’s absolutely amazing and deserves the world! He has that kind of reverse charm where he can transform from hot daddy to super-cute ball of fluff in 0.3 seconds and it’s so adorable! 4. Kim Jonghyun. Oh god, I know that this looks like nu’est promo but how could I not include him!?!!?!? I mean, that guy seriously writes page-long letters to apologize about lacking as a leader and then reads them out at fanmeets while crying when he’s actually the perfect human being? I swear, my heart aches for him. His smile is blinding, his leader abilities are great and he’s really hardworking so I wish him only the best. 5. Kim Samuel. He’s been training for about six years now, sacrificing a major part of his childhood and teenage years for almost-but-not-quite debuting in seventeen and then for debuting-and-disbanding-after-only-one-song in One Punch. I was stunned by his skills but despite his confident words about him wanting to become number one, Samuel always looks super nervous and pressured to me. I heard that he isn’t number one on many people’s list, so I hope that he won’t drop when the voting sistem changes. My baby deserves a bit of happiness for once! 6. Kim Sanggyun. Atom is my second favorite Topp Dogg member so I rooted for him on p101 since his name was first mentioned. From what I’ve seen so far, he presents himself a bit too sexy for my liking (that shirt lift in replay had me rolling my eyes) but still, I see his ambition and I really want him to succeed and gain fans for himself and his group. The pann post about him signing an autograph to his fan was so touching, I hope his ranking gets better. (P.S.:I wished he kept his hair long, it was a good look on him.) 7. Jung Dongsoo. He got about 3 seconds of screentime in episode 1 but he stood out to me because of his looks. Cut to episode 4 (or 3?) and I’m falling for his amazing singing skills. He lets the others shine if he knows that he can’t deliver/show his best and he seems very thoughtful. Hope that he keeps rising. 8. Kim Namhyung. I’m usually a big fan of rappers and so Kim Namhyung instantly caught my eye. He seems to have the skills and the swag but unfortunately, he didn’t get much screen time yet. Here’s hope that this changes! 9. Kang Daniel. It’s official: I love guys with broad shoulders (I either like them androgynous or as masculine as possible). Kang Daniel has a wonderful smile, wonderful shoulders and is an all-rounder in terms of talent. Plus, his and Ong-ie’s interactions are lovely. 10. Kim Taedong. The more I see him, the more handsome he seems to me. I admit that he didn’t catch my radar on boys24 but it changed when he got from F to A rank through his hard work. He also has a beautiful warm smile that melts hearts. 11. Seo Sunghyuk. I nearly teared up when he cried. Imagine rising from rank 90 something to rank 51! Poor boy, I’m sure he had lost all hope already. Especially with his team joking around so much when he wanted to practice. He reminds me of a friend of mine that cried once during the last class before an examen because the class was too loud and he couldn’t understand the teacher lol. He’s handsome and dedicated so I hope we’ll se more of him.
