rhaegar is so goofy for just leaving jaime & that’s it in the capital like if you were conspiring to overthrow your father because you know he’s unstable and insane why would you leave a crying teenager in charge of security in the capital like???
#even with the ‘rhaegar thought the long night was about to happen literally within the year’ it’s like okay…..but why did u leave jaime#getting on my soap box#i’m sorry this man is just so stupid like i understand a lot of the stupidity going on in the dance at least. rhaegar tho…

enough — batman secret files (2018) #1
(ID below cut!)
[ID: A short story titled Enough. It centers around Bruce Wayne being alone at a little cabin out in the middle of some woods on top of a snow-capped mountain. Bruce internally narrates throughout the entire story. The barren cabin is lonesome amongst the pristine, white snow as Bruce enters the cold, muted building. Inside there's several books, oil lamps, a stone fireplace, and candles on basic, open faced wooden furniture – indicating that the house has no electricity. The cabin is one story and has an open floorplan with a single upstairs bedroom, which has only a ladder leading up to the small loft. There's a chest underneath a window and Bruce sits on the old, yellow couch in front of the blazing fireplace.
He thinks to himself, ‘There're rumors that somewhere, in Gotham's most beautiful, snow-topped mountains, a monster is running around. I have a suspicion Man-Bat is behind the strange activity. Mountain climbers losing their camps, ski resorts with missing guests, a strange beast being seen in the dark... Something covered in hair, something remarkably large.’ He takes his parka off and sets down his large duffle bag to slowly unpack it — revealing a thermos and a bow with several large, pointed arrowheads. He pulls out his Batman gear — which includes an insulated suit that's lined with fur, his belt, and a protective face mask that reflects his eyes in the red-tinted visor. He forlornly admits, ‘I can handle large, but what I can't handle… Is how damn lonely it is up here. Alfred says I could use some alone time. Truth is, I'm not such a fan of myself.’
Outside in his costume and cape, Bruce is tracking through the icy woods and the thick, rising snow. He's armed with his bow and arrows as he narrates, ‘To avoid detection by what I assume is probably Man-Bat, I'll try to capture him using only my hunting skills. I admit I'm a little rusty. The arrows I've brought are lethal to some, but they're just enough to incapacitate a beast of his size. It should be enough.. I hope it's enough.’ But the snowstorm rages on, forcing Bruce back inside the cabin since he believes it's not worth the risk of freezing to death if he stays out. He now lays in the upstairs loft's bed. The oil lamps on the wooden bedstand is unlit, causing the bright snow through the window to be the only thing that casts any light in the dark room. It reveals a framed photo of a picturesque landscape hanging over Bruce's head on the wall. In it, there's a peaceful lake and tall, luxuriant green trees.
Bruce solemnly stares up at the ceiling and thinks, ‘I find myself focusing closely on all the sounds of the forest, trying to learn the rhythm.’ The snow whirls on… A branch cracks… The cabin itself creaks and groans — causing Bruce to sit upright with a jolt! He squints out the window in an futile attempt to actually see something out there. He cerebrates, ‘Three nights and only the sounds of falling snow and branches. I've tracked nothing larger than a doe, there's been no news of an attack or sighting, maybe he's left the mountains… or maybe he's just hiding.’ Bruce lays back down, this time with his back to the window. He keeps an eye open — waiting and nearly hoping for any sign of life other than his own in the desolate, icy land.
We're shown Bruce outside again as he fights against the harsh wind to get back inside the cabin after another unsuccessful search for Man-Bat. He rubs his face tiredly while hunched over a small oil lamp as the stovetop coffee brews. He reflects, ‘Six nights alone, darkness lasts longer than the day and again the storm pushes me back indoors. This is beginning to feel useless. I'm really quite over myself. Maybe I'll call Alfred and ask him to—’ But his self-deprecation is cut short by a sudden thump! Then another loud crack! Again and again, coming closer and closer to him!
Bruce sets down the coffee as his mind rapid fires the possibilities of the quickly approaching, potentially dangerous loud noises! ‘Is it the branches in the wind? Or is it something else? Am I paranoid? I can't visualize what I'm hearing. There's no time to think about the cold now, I'm all alone up here. That sounds remarkably large.’ Bruce arms himself with his bow and arrow and hesitates outside the door as his paranoia continues, ‘I hope this is enough. A hunter knows its prey, but I'm realizing I have no idea what's on the other side of this door. Does it understand I'm on the other side? I am alone out here. No time to think.’ He flings the door open!
Geared in only his suit with no gloves or headgear, Bruce aims his bow blindly as he stands outside in the merciless elements. He tensely waits in the dark, thinking to the unseen threat, ‘I don't see you, but can you see me?’ There's another loud thump and crack. With one last hope that it's enough to tranquilize the potential attacker, Bruce fires the weapon.
The sharp arrow proves itself to be lethal as it pierces his unfortunate target. The threat — merely a lonesome, defenseless deer — falls dead in front of the horrified man. Bruce rushes forth and remorsefully buries the animal with the snow. He walks back to the cabin with the repeated, dejected confession: ‘Truth is, I'm not such a fan of myself.’
END ID]
#paranoia and self-deprecating... god hes just like me fr....#love everytime writers acknowledge god no he fucking hates himself#(thinking of when cass asked if bruce could make them like him and bruce says god no hes not that cruel...)#but just bruce being all antsy and restless.... how his loneliness and being stuck with just himself with nothing to do just makes his#mental state rapidly worse and paranoid. bruce being unprepared? or acting this... reckless? his mind playing tricks and making the sounds#of a lonesome deer mimic the sound of a 7ft+ monster?? just his mental health obviously impaired and impacting his work is so <333#also!! how when hes outside he focuses primarily on the mission and the panels arent boxed in but as soon as he goes in the cabin —#the panels are bordered on each side and serves as visual symbolism of how bruce is trapped within his own head and struggling thoughts !!!#also if you read it as man-bat not even being there and just being a literal unseen projection of bruces internal conflict... <3333#ANYWAYS !!#happy sad boy sunday !!!#transcrypts#c: batman secret files (2018) | i: 1#crypt's panels#bruce wayne#batman#disabled bruce#posts from the crypt#autistic bruce wayne

did you have any previous hyperfixations before thond?
Hey thanks for the ask :)
As for the answer, aw man I'm gonna expose myself with this one
Oh, and if you're hoping to find stuff similar to thond, sorry but all my previous interests share little to no similarities, I just go with whatever floods my brain with dopamine 💧
(under the cut because I got a little wordy)
Right before thond my main interest revolved around DC comics, mostly Batman/Joker stories (yes I'm a filthy batjokes shipper). I especially loved Alan Moore's "The Killing Joke" and "Watchmen", two of the best comics I've ever read for different reasons, both highly recommended.
Prior to that I was in the "Lupin the third" fandom for a rather long time, which if you don't know it's a manga/anime about a funky thief who...steals? That's pretty much it, but the characters are so charming ✨
Was also obsessed for a while with the manga "Hajime no Ippo", mostly because of this ugly emo fucker (name's Mashiba Ryo and he's as bastard as he looks).
Other than that I only cared about the thing because it's a boxing manga, so half-naked sweaty men beating each other senseless, what's more to ask for?
Some other of my fixs included some minor characters of bigger fandoms that quickly died off because I just couldn't find enough content about them 🥲
(Also had a small "summer" thing for the novel Frankenstein; reading the creature's description got me thinking "daaamn why he kinda my type? 😳") *cough cough*
Anyway, thond is probably the fixation that has got me the most productive. I can't recall a fandom for which I produced this much content...and it's all because of a bigot racist old man's fault, don't know what that says about me 🫠
Oh and I also had an undertale and fnaf period...but we don't talk about those confusing dark times 💀
#remembered some stuff I buried deep within me while writing this#man did I really like that stuff? *will have the same thoughts about thond in about 2 months*#jk I hope thond and frollo never leave my freaky little brain#salemspeaks#ask box#sorry for any eventual grammar mistakes

Questioning culture is wondering why you feel uncomfortable being called woman, but girl feels nice. You really don't believe in gender and find it pointless, but you like you're fem identity. I'm wondering is it because I don't feel matured enough so woman feels like something a title/label I'll grow into at a certain age?
.
#questioning#questioning culture#questioning gender#gender#i don't know your age so i can't tell you whether you will just grow to feel like a woman within the next few years#i don't think people really associate man or woman with themselves until like their mid twenties but that's just my guess as an enby#and i think that girl has become basically equivalent to guy as well as boy so it describes more stages of development#and could also be viewed as a more general term including all ages of that gender#on top of that i think guy feels less restrictively gendered so someone might identify as “just some guy”#because it's more vaguely masculine than boy or man#and that might be the case for you as well#maybe girl just feels like a little bigger of a box

Regarding extragalactic travel: is there anything preventing Milky Way races from developing their own version of the tech (not in terms of politics but like space anomalies around our galaxy)? Do other galaxies have it or is it just a Galra and Gem thing? And give Allura's portals, could a space bridge or the Bifrost allow for extragalactic travel?
There's nothing physically preventing extragalactic travel to and from the Milky Way. FTL technology aside from the Galvan Transportation Network exists, it's just the Mass Effect thing - there's this bonkers established FTL method that practically lets you skip across vast distances in the blink of an eye, which discourages development of other forms of travel. The "regular" FTL travel is simply too slow to reasonably consider travelling to other galaxies.
That's why the Tesseract drive Mar-Vell was trying to develop was so important - it would've put the Skrull refugees beyond the reach of the Kree Empire.
Cybertronian Space Bridges are point to point, and only exist between Cybertronian colony worlds; they do allow for nearly instantaneous travel, but in order for one to be used for intergalactic travel, someone would need to bite the bullet and make the trip to the target galaxy, then build the Space Bridge's endpoint there.
The Bifrost doesn't really have a range limit (hell, most of the Nine Realms don't exist as part of normal space), but good freakin' luck convincing Odin to let you use it hahaha
#ask box#anon ask#kryptonverse#i don't know if y'all have played no man's sky#but i think of it like that game#there's the pulse engine that you use to quickly travel from planet to planet within a star system#and the warp drive that enables travel betwen star systems#you could theoretically use the pulse engine to travel between star systems too#it'd just take AGES

Mia do you have any alan headcanons 👁-👁 one of mine is that he has curly hair :3
oh my goodness anon you are too kind to let me be unhinged about this . AND YOU ARE SO RIGHT 🗣️🗣️🗣️ I ACTUALLY HC THAT TOO cuz especially in AW Remastered the curls are lore obvious lemme try to get a pic..
LIKE LOOK AT THAT FRONT PART.. THERES CURL.. and in AW2 in some parts the ends of his longer hair fr do look curly.. SO YOURE SO REAL. Now its time for my headcanons hehehe
HAIRY. It’s lowkey a crime we’ve never gotten a shirtless Alan scene (ofc I would say that.) but FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES I have seen images of his actor shirtless and was kinda surprised he didn’t have a lot of body hair.. anyways I hc Alan does cuz theres fr no way LOOK AT HOW SCRUFFY HE IS..
Orders unnecessarily extra coffee orders. LIKE OFC i see him as a guy who likes just regular plain coffee (not as much as Casey tbh), but I know he’d go extra with frappes..
INSOMNIAC. 100%. It’s actually canon from what I remember but if it’s not I consider it canon. Even after getting better I feel like he’d just have trouble sleeping :( mainly cuz he still feels on edge from being in the dark place/a part of him has always been used to staying up extremely late (either partying or writing)
Speaking of sleep (and because I’m the same way), I feel like he needs a light on when sleeping 100%. I feel like first sleeping together he felt goofy about it, but I end up showing him my tiny cinnamoroll nightlight and it makes him feel less embarrased :,)
FASHION DISASTER. Mainly because he feels like he always has to dress to the nines when going out anywhere, needs constant reassurance (from me- 💥) that dressing casually is okay! Cuz I love my angel so much but .. THE CLOTHES HES WEARING UNDERNEATH THAT TWEED JACKET/THOSE LAYERS 💀 he’s lucky I love dressing up sm so I can do the same for him
ITS CANON BUT HE LOVES OLD MOVIES/NOIR FILMS.. I feel like he gets a kick out of older movies (Jaws, The Shining (ofc.), etc.), he dabbles in watching something new (especially cuz of me cuz i love trashy movies so much) and even if he doesn’t like it he’ll use it as what to avoid as a writer/thanking the fact he doesn’t write like that FJBSHDN
ALSO CANON BUT HE HAS A CHILDHOOD TEDDY!!!! :) he doesn’t sleep with it like i do with mine but he lets me cuddle with it and it makes his heart explode every time hehe He likes to rest it against mine because it’s like they’re a little family..
Ok last one but there’s no way this man doesn’t have a slight tummy.. I DO NOT SEE HIM BEING RIPPED . No never I fr cannot see that.
#anon . you unleashed the beast within me#THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME GO CRAZY .#i fr could go on but these are the ones that popped in my head first ehhehe#📫 ask box!#📜 21st century man#self ship#self ship community#f/o community#self shipping

what is with the slight uprise in stupidly gendered memes lately . why are people trying to reinvent the binary boxes but quirky
#like . one meme on its own isn’t a big deal but i feel like it’s becoming a sort of trend#and it’s so ??? why are people SO eager to have a divide between men and women#people act like men and women are inherently different in fucking attitude and personality and it makes me want to scream#like i’m so glad that YOU as a man/woman never felt uncomfortable within your arbitarily assigned sociocultural box but not everyone wants#to be stuck in it with you . not everyone is content with that#idk it’s just . you run across these types of people sometimes who aren’t at all bigoted but who genuinely think men n women are Different#in some way#(and then theyre surprised that many trans people do end up abiding by gendered norms . but i digress)#and it’s just so tiring . like good for you if you are genuinely happy as you are thats great but that line of thinking does harm down the#line#jay rants

It’s surprisingly hard for people to make the jump from ‘Gender is a performance’ to ‘Gender is entirely socially constructed, so there are an infinite amount of genders you could perform’. The pervasive belief that gender is in some form (whether biological OR social) derived from biological sex preserves essentialist ideas about human behavior by moving the goalpost from “Gender is an immovable constant that can’t be separated from sex” to “Gender isn’t an immovable constant but your gendered socialization can’t be separated from sex”, in both cases people believe that you can’t derive a gender identity from something beyond your own internal reality which is nonsensical if gender is entirely socially constructed. If gender only exists as far as people are willing to recognize it then you’re still operating on fundamentally essentialist ideas, you’re just allowing society to determine what those essential categories are. You can’t perform a gender that isn’t male or female because they exist outside of the bounds of cisgender experiences, trans people are either male or female and are expected to follow the same expectations as cis people. Male and Female are still monoliths you can’t escape, and everything else has to fall under that umbrella as long as you’re defining gendered performance in terms of other people, you have a flawed and shallow understanding of what gender identity is and can be. When I identify as a cat that is just as valid as an identity as male or female or whatever else because gender is all socially constructed frameworks to understand internal experiences of self, and we CAN discard everything there if we want to. Despite this many people still cling to the idea that there is something more profound or meaningful about gender identity that confirms to biological categorization.
#.txt#thinking a lot about how therians fit into my framework of gender#because obviously I can’t biologically be a cat or have cat DNA#but if we’ve *actually* separated gender from biology then why does that mattter?#the legitimacy of someone’s identity is still tied to their conformity to biology#it’s still essentialism you have just allowed people to maneuver a little bit more within those categories#it’s not as revolutionary as people think it is to just… accept trans people but still put them into neat boxes of ‘cis man’ and ‘cis woman’#(hence the cisgender conception of all trans people desperately wanting to be cis in the same way as them)

10 pages is going to be a long comic
Are you planning on posting it all at once or in parts?
💙
all at once. But I can't work on it right away. I may be able to get it done over summer break, if I put my mind to it. But between school comics, ALUW, and my webcomic... well I have to figure out my priorities...
