Blessing Bouquets

Blessing bouquets are bouquets of flowers made using Victorian flower language or cultural flower associations. They make excellent gifts, are great for home blessings, an can be made either fresh or with dried flowers.

Some deities also have flowers associated with their stories and folktales such as paeonia and hyacinths for Apollon, and anemones and violets for Aphrodite. They also make excellent offerings to ancestors and spirits in most western practices (exceptions are Judaism and Islam)

Adapt to make flower crowns, wreaths, press flowers and hang in garlands etc.

Prep your stems and greenery, if fresh remove the bottom leaves and snip the stems at an angle

Build the base by adding flowers at an angle one by one, turning your bouquet after every flower added. The base should be the bulk of your greenery and flowers

Add in your focal flowers, these may the the larger blooms or brighter colours, you can feed them into the middle of the bouquet

Work in the smaller blooms and greenery, you can feed them into any part of the bouquet

Secure with twine, ribbon, paper or an ecstatic band

Some Flower Meanings:

Lily - purity, virtue, devotion,

Peony - prosperity, good fortune

Daffodil - rebirth, new beginnings

Poppy - sleep, rest, mourning

Anemone - anticipation, fragility

Going off the thirstpost on the subject i made the other day, I wanted to highlight just how much I love matoi's jp va. Here's a bunch of select lines that I think showcase her character and voice super well

Matoimaru is such a strong and loveable dork, I can't help but adore her. Perhaps an odd thing to admire, but I really love the aggressive compression settings they dialed in to balance the dynamics of her recorded lines. Listen at 1:34, "Taichou yare datte?" Those consonants, especially "da-te", jab outwards in this incredibly pleasing way. Whether she's yelling full force or softening up to her own level of calm, Matoi always speaks her mind with sincerity. Also the rolled "r" on her battle 3 line (1:48) ouhg augh it's so good I noticed that she refers to herself with "wagahai" in pretty much all of her lines, so as someone who does not speak Japanese with any level of fluency whatsoever I did a bit of digging to investigate:

So "wagahai" here either gives off a bit of arrogance, or a rather archaic term for a plural we/us. And you know what? Either of these interpretations work beautifully. And both are masc leaning!! And while this one is a bit harder to pin down specific meanings of, Matoi also adds "ze" to the end of her statements fairly often:

Always adding a touch of force, emphasis, or even threat to her sentences feels so goddamn in character for her. Notice, also masc leaning!! My jp "knowledge" is mostly limited to exposure from anime, games, and asmr lmao. But I'm real curious for someone who knows better than me to break down Matoi's mannerisms of speech, because as limited as these lines are, I think there's a lot of character packed in 'em!! anyway fr that tongue click tho,,

This bouquet is more of a bushel, a collection of small, bunched flowerrs in purple, pinks and whites. The white are small, miniscule really, but they bind together the thin stems of vibrantly purple violets, and pink, almost heart-shaped flowers with a dark mark on the top two petals similar to a pansy.

So, in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there're been Poké Portal News events providing special Mass Outbreaks through the summer. First we had the Pikachu line, then the three varieties of Tatsugiri, now we have Wattrel outbreaks in Paldea, Riolu in Kitakami... and Comfey in the Blueberry Academy Terarium. You have to wonder if the teachers there sometimes have to wrangle the Pokemon outbreaks if they get too disruptive. Well, since I have a certain rabbit teaching there, he got tasked with handling a bouquet of Comfey that were bothering students in the Savanna Biome...

...It could be going better.

Meaning and why this flower was chosen: It symbolizes freedom and/or immortality, wich fits greatly with the themes of their trajectory on the media. Wasting years of their life literally rotting away on a tower, completely waiting for death after their family's failed attempt at immortality ended with all of their deaths. Only finally freeing themself from that cycle after denying their father's control and living their own life. Description: Their solution to daddy issues was literally murder I'm pretty sure. Do you need any more convincing?
