#botw four swords au

I am immediately rotating your botw four swords au in my head like I just LOVE the descriptions of all the colors, if there's anything else you wanna share literally please go off about it

A few other tidbits have been in my brain that I didn't mention in the other posts:

-They each take on one power of one champion as opposed to all of them being able to use each power. I'm still not sure if I want to match the champion's personalities to each Link, or if I want to match elements (because that'd just be funny tbh).

-Vio is the keeper of the braincell (and the sheikah slate).

-They each have their own horse! Each gotten at different stages of the adventure so there's varying "quality." Not sure if I would include any of the unique horses, but if I did, Vio has the descendant of Zelda's horse and Blue has Ganon's horse.

-Weapons and fighting styles!

Blue is big on double handed weapons, his favourite being the royal claymore. He's a close combat fighter but not the quickest to get attacks in. When he does hit he hits hard.

Green is single hand sword fighter and will eventually wield the master sword. He's a very hack n slash, attack now think later kinda guy. He's the most likely to take a hit to save his companions.

Red's not a big fan of combat but he does very much enjoy using spears above everything else. When he gets a chance to do ranged combat he often uses elemental rods to inflict more damage.

Vio won't get up close and personal so he uses a bow almost always. He also uses the sheikah slate runes a lot, either to get in added damage or help the others out by using stasis.

-Food 👀

Blue's a snacker. He doesn't really care for sitting down and having big meals. If he must though, he's like your sunday roast kinda guy. Loads of hearty meat dishes. He loves seafood especially.

Green is the least picky and is the group cook. He prefers light meals (a "goes to McDonald's and orders a salad." kinda guy) as rich foods can sometimes upset his stomach. But overall he'll eat just about anything.

Red really loves soups and stews. They're his comfort food. He's extremely fond of spices to the point where it low-key scares the others (especially Blue).

Vio is the most picky, mostly due to health consciousness. He's always advocating that they eat as healthy as possible. Ironically though he has a huge sweet tooth and is often craving sugar. He tries to remedy it with fruit, to varying degrees of success.

Help I can't stop making AUs

this is sort of inspired by @ tenten18282's Hyrule x four swords AU, but yknow, botw link instead

I'm just gonna start rambling about them under the cut uwu

So from left to right, we have Safflina (Saff), Thistle, Violet (Vi), and Nightshade (Night). Violet was the one who suggested they nickname themselves after flowers and no one had better ideas so here they are

Saff is the designated leader of the group simply because. uh. He's the only one who is willing to actually go talk to people, the other three would rather do so much else. He's the most empathetic and courageous. He's also their best cook!

Thistle is the fighter. He's extremely skilled with any weapon and enjoys monster hunting. He's pretty impulsive and will always be the one to initiate the fight. It's not that bad because he can usually win any fight he starts, but he can get pretty reckless.

Vi is the adventurous one, who can and will get lost the moment he runs off to grab a beetle. He just really likes exploring but really dislikes fighting. He steals the slate constantly to take photos. Night usually tags along with his antics to complete the compendium and also make sure he doesn't end up too lost.

Night is the one with the braincell. He's also extremely stealthy, and prefers to sneakstrike enemies instead of fighting them head on. He just enjoys learning about anything and everything. He knows a lot of stuff, but isn't the best at execution. He's only allowed to make elixirs lol

Vi and Night are probably the most interesting ones design wise, Vi constantly changes outfit depending on his needs but usually wears a combination of the climbing gear and the stealth armor. Night wears a combination of the stealth armor and the radiant set. I think I want Night to have a scar on his left eye. I based his hair after sheik because. sheik mask in game. His hair is also long and braided. Vi's hair is very long and horribly unkempt, he hasn't bothered to cut it at all

Saff wears the Champions tunic, usually a hylian hood, and some soldier armor. He's also the only one who wields the Master Sword. His hair is the usual smol ponytail. Thistle wears the full barbarian armor with crimson dye. His hair is basically the same as Vi's except he sometimes accidentally cuts some of it off with his weapon, so it's also horribly choppy

Saff and Night are the only ones who are concerned about the plot what happened 100 years ago, Thistle and Vi are content to just. Leave all that behind. Save the world and Zelda, and then go back to their new life. Well for Vi his main motivation is learning about the history mostly, and Saff actually wants to know what happened to himself.

I mean, that's not entirely descriptive of what they actually want, its complicated. Thistle, Vi, and Night are a lot more detached to their past self and they feel really guilty about it, but that's not stopping them from pursuing the life they want to live now. I guess. Like of course they'll save Hyrule, but after that? They want to do their own thing.

If that makes senes :V honestly this AU is basically two identity crises stacked on top of each other and multiplied by four lmao

Had to naturally go with shortest (Wild, at 5'2) and tallest (Sky, at 5'7)

Believe it or not, I've actually drawn quite a bit of these two, I've just never posted them because I didn't really like any of them, haha

Anonymous: Mayhaps spirit tracks and one or more of the four swords colours (red, blue, vio, green, or shadow)??? Perchance?

Between the Colours Ensemble, I think Spirit would get along with Vio and Shadow the best, they'd all share a singular braincell and it's constantly trying to pull itself in three different directions at any given moment

I have a question for the Zelda fandoms, is Ganondorf a potterer? Does he like to do pottery? Would this explain the "hero's" drive to smash pottery? (this is where the true grudge comes from lol) As someone who is a potterer. I could totally understand that Gannon would start cursing the kingdom of Hyrule out of pettiness. (idk maybe the pottery is cursed or something.) Imagine Demise and all the Ganons in a therapeutic pottery session. Taking pride and joy in their craft only to then dread the eventual comically large stampede of links. The eternal cycle of pettiness. heheheh may- shattered recreation.

Hhhrrgg I'm thinking about a BOTW Four Swords AU again after a long ass time bc I wanna revisit it. Thinking about each of BOTW Link's colors being somewhat reflective of the FS boys in the manga but also reflective of the game's different playstyles.

Ideas under the cut 👀

Blue

A strong and silent type, who attempts to take on a leaderly role but is often denied so by Green. Dedicated to vanquishing Calamity Ganon and his blights first and foremost and doesn't care about much else. He will rarely entertain the idea of a sidequest unless he is dragged along by the others (or if a cool weapon is involved). Out of all of the colors he feels the most guilty about the events of calamity. He fully believes that his own weakness was a significant cause in the downfall of the kingdom. He tries not to show it, but it's quite apparent to the others, especially after regaining a memory.

Green

He's the adventurer. He takes the resurrection shrine almost as a blessing, as he gets to experience the world with new eyes. He is always the one to be off the beaten path, collecting mushrooms or finding hidden koroks. He's so keen to immerse himself in this beautiful world that he often has to be reminded there is still a quest at hand. Out of all of them he tries most to put the calamity behind him, instead focusing on the here and now. As a result it sometimes creates a point of contention, especially between him and Blue.

Red

Red is the most friendly and communicative of the Links. Always ready to strike up a conversation and speak with villagers and fellow travellers (as such he has fallen for Yiga traps an embarrassing number of times). He feels the most at home with other citizens of Hyrule and despite the company of the colors, he often feels a great sense of loneliness out in the wild. He's the most outwardly emotional about the calamity. He's extremely concerned for Zelda's wellbeing and actively mourns the champions. His willingness to be emotionally vulnerable can sometimes be cathartic for everyone.

Vio

Link's amnesia frustrates him to no end and he is always searching for answers. Whether that be on the events of a hundred years ago, or on the mysterious sheikah technology scattered across the land. He's most fascinated by the shrines and will insist on completing any that the group finds (bar tests of strength). While he agrees the calamity was terrible, he mostly just wants to try and piece together what on earth even happened. Without knowledge of Link's prior life he feels lost and like a part of him is incomplete. He will stop at nothing to feel whole again.

This is kind of an introduction, I'm thinking of making my own "Links meet" Comic. I was originally just making Linked universe fanart but decided I wanted to make my own story and plot, so some of the designs are similar

the worst thing about being a Zelda fan is the fandom is so large that you have to figure out what SUBCULTURE you fit into to join discord servers. I’m not that interested in things to do with BotW/AoC/TotK so I have to avoid the large majority of discord servers bc they’re only oriented on those games. I have no interest in roleplay currently so that eliminates the second biggest subculture. I don’t know what Linked Universe even is so uh no luck there. The Zelda fandom subculture I’m most closely aligned with is the Four Swords Manga fandom I guess but do they have servers and would they be interested in things not relating exclusively to Green, Red, Blue, Vio, and Shadow??? Zelda servers are hard man I just wanna talk about my OoT AU 😩
