#hoping this one DOESN’T get comments about how ‘’that’s why /I/ don’t write romance!’’#which seems to happen every time I post a complaining comment about how frustrating I find this predicament.#Like#’’Ugh not /EVERY/ story needs romance!’’ True bitch. But as the author I /WANT/ this story to have romance.#I want to write a romantic story. As someone who has experienced romantic attraction a grand total of 2 times in her life this is hard forme#I want to tell the story of these two characters learning and growing together and coming to love eachother#both platonically and then after a little while romantically. But I really struggle to showthe difference between those types of intimacy#especially when most advice on the topic is identical to describing any close friendship/roommate scenario.#I know these’s a difference. Hell I’ve FELT that difference.#It took me +3 months to realize what it even was and was over 8 years ago now so I mostly just remember the heartbreak#and the awkwardness of constantly feeling like I’d said the wrong thing or at least been really weird about something around them.#The other time I was like 10 or 12 and I don’t really remember at all; probably would’ve forgotten it completely if I hadn’t changed my#reading habits and joined chorus just so we’d have something to talk about.
