Boots crunched in hay, and then he was knee to knee before her.
Aedion.
There was nothing kind on his face. No pity or warmth.
For a long minute, they only stared at each other.
Then the prince growled softly, "Your plan was bullshit."
She said nothing, and couldn't stop her shoulders from curving inward.
"Your plan was bullshit," he breathed, his eyes sparking. "How could you ever be her, wear her skin, and think to get away with it? How could you ever think you'd get around the fact that our armies are counting on you to burn the enemy to ashes, and all you can do is run away and emerge as some beast instead?"
"You don't get to pin this retreat on me," she rasped. The first words she'd spoken in days and days.
"You agreed to let Aelin go to her death, and leave us here to be slashed to bloody ribbons. You two told no one of this plan, told none of us who might have explained the realities of this war, and that we would need a gods-damned Fire-Bringer and not an untrained, useless shape-shifter against Morath."
Blow after blow, the words landed upon her weary heart. "Weâ"
"If you were so willing to let Aelin die, then you should have let her do it after she incinerated Erawan's hordes!"
"It would not have stopped Maeve from capturing her."
"If you'd told us, we might have planned differently, acted differently, and we would not be here, damn you!"
She stared at the muddy hay. "Throw me out of your army, then."
"You ruined everything." His words were colder than the wind outside. "You, and her."
Lysandra closed her eyes.
Hay rustled, and she knew he'd risen to his feet, knew it as his words speared from above her bowed head. "Get out of my tent."
She wasn't certain she could move enough to obey, though she wished to. Needed to. Fight back. She should fight back. Rage at him as he lashed at her, needing an outlet for his fear and despair.
Lysandra opened her eyes, peering up at him. At the rage on his face, the hatred She managed to stand, her body bleating in pain. Managed to look him in the eye, even as Aedion said again with quiet cold, "Get out."
Barefoot in the snow, naked beneath her cloak. Aedion glanced at her bare legs, as if realizing it. And not caring.
So Lysandra nodded, clutching Ansel's cloak tighter, and strode into the frigid night.
"Where is she?" Ren asked, a mug of what smelled like watery soup in one hand, a chunk of bread in the other. The lord scanned the tent as if he would find her under the cot, the hay.
Aedion stared at the precious few logs burning in the brazier, and said nothing.
"What have you done?" Ren breathed.
Everything was about to end. Had been doomed since Maeve had stolen Aelin. Since his queen and the shifter had struck their agreement.
So it didn't matter, what he'd said. He hadn't cared if it wasn't fair, wasn't true.
Didn't care if he was so tired he couldn't muster shame at his pinning on her the blame for the sure defeat they'd face in a matter of days before Perranth's walls.
He wished she'd smacked him, had screamed at him. But she had let him rage. And had walked out into the snow, barefoot.
He'd promised to save Terrasen, to hold the lines. Had done so for years. And yet this test against Morath, when it had counted ... he had failed.
Heâd muster the strength to fight again. To rally his men. He just ... he needed to sleep.
Aedion didn't notice when Ren left, undoubtedly in search of the shifter with who he was so damned enamored.
He should summon his Bane commanders. See how they thought to manage this disaster.
But he couldn't. Could do nothing but stare into that fire as the long night passed.

I see a lot of people clowning on the people of Pelican Town for not repairing the community center themselves or clowning on Lewis for embezzling and. like. Those criticisms aren't entirely unfair. But I think instead of coming at it from a perspective of "why can't the townspeople do this" we should be asking "why and how can the farmer do this?"
Like. Think about it. The farmer arrives in Stardew Valley on the first day of spring. By the first day they're obviously different. By day five the spirits of the forest who haven't been seen by the townsfolk in years or generations are speaking to them. By the second week they've developed a rapport with the wizard that lives outside town.
In the spring they go foraging and find more than even Linus, who's spent so many years learning the ways of the valley. Maybe he knows, when he sees them walking back home. Maybe he looks at them and understands that they're different, chosen somehow.
In the summer they fish in the lakes and the ocean for hours on end, catching fish that even Willy's only ever heard of, fish that he thought were the stuff of legend. They pull up giants from the deep and mutated monstrosities from the sewers.
In the fall, their crops grow incredibly immense; pumpkins twice as tall as a person, big enough that someone could live inside. The farmer cuts it down with an axe without even batting an eye. Does Lewis wonder, when he checks the collection bin that night and finds it full to the brim with pumpkin flesh? What does he think? Does he even leave the money? Does he have the funds to pay the farmer millions of dollars for the massive amounts of wine they sell? Or is it someone--something--else entirely?
In the winter, the farmer delves into the mines. No one in Pelican Town has been down there in decades. No one in living memory has been to the bottom. The farmer gets there within the season. They return to the surface with stories of dwarven ruins and shadow people, stories they only tell to Vincent and Jas, whose retellings will be dismissed by the adults as flights of fancy. People walking by the entrance to the mines sometimes hear the farmer in there, speaking in a language no one can understand. Something speaks back.
The farmer speaks to the the wizard. They speak to the spirit of a bear inside a centuries-old stone. They speak to the shadow people and the dwarves, ancient enemies, and they try to mend the rift. They speak to the Junimos, ancient spirits of the forest and the river and the mountain. They taste the nectar of the stardrops and speak to the valley itself. They change Pelican Town, and they change the valley. Things are waking up.
And what does Evelyn think? She's the oldest person in the valley; she was here when the farmer's grandfather was young. (How old *is* she, anyway? She never seems to age. She doesn't remember the year she was born.) Does she see the farmer and think of their grandfather? Does she try to remember if he was like this too, strange and wild and given the gifts of the forest?
And does their grandfather haunt the valley? He haunts the farm, still there even after his death; his body died somewhere else, but his spirit could never stay away for long. Does Abigail, using her ouija board on a stormy night, almost drop the planchette when she realizes it's moving on its own? Does Shane, walking to work long before anyone else leaves their house, catch glimpses of a wispy figure floating through the town? Does the farmer know their grandfather came back to the place they both love so much?
Mr. Qi takes interest in the farmer. He's different, too; in a different way, maybe, but the principles are the same. They're both exceptional, and no matter what Qi says about it being hard work and dedication, they both know the truth: the world bends around the both of them, changing to fit their needs. Most people aren't visited by fairies or witches. Most people don't have meteorites crash in their yard. Most people couldn't chop down trees all day without a break or speak to bears and mice and frogs.
The farmer is different. The rules of the world don't work for them the way they work for everyone else. The farmer goes fishing and finds the stuff of fairy tales. The farmer goes mining and fights shadow beasts and flying snakes. The farmer looks at paths the townspeople walk every day and finds buried in the dirt relics of lost civilizations.
The farmer is a violent, irrepressible miracle, chosen by the valley and destined to return to it someday. Even if they'd never received the letter, they would've come home.
They always come home eventually.
#lich says shit#stardew valley#sorry for the stardew valley meta i'm just so obsessed with how FREAKY the farmer is. Like it's so fun#gonna write another long ass post about the farmer's bloodline specifically and. like.#why did their grandpa leave the valley?? why did their parents never go back??#stardew valley farmer#sdv

Aemond had finally ascended.
His reckless, wine-soaked brother was a shadow of the past, burnt and broken beyond repair. Though the Seven Kingdoms still called him âPrince Regent,â Aemond knew he held the true power of a kingâand wielded the might of a dragon unmatched in all the realm.
He was Prince Regent, yes, but also the rider of Vhagar, the Queen of Dragons, the slayer of Daemon Targaryen, the butcher of his treacherous half-sister and her rabble of bastards.
At Godâs Eye, he had cast Daemon down, wresting from him the title of warrior to which he clung so stubbornly. And when Alys Strongâs deceit led him astray, she too had met the edge of his blade, her charms and false promises extinguished in the cold stone of Harrenhalâs dungeons. Now, what was left of his family was but the bones of the house.
Only his mother and his niece remained, the ones bound by duty and blood. Helaena, broken by grief and driven mad with sorrow, had thrown herself from her chamber balcony, finding an end that her shattered mind had long sought. Aegon, the crownâs fool, lay in a stupor of smoke and agony, burned and nearly lifeless after his fall from Moondancerâs flames.
But Aemond ruled nowâhis alone was the realmâs rightful power. The Seven Kingdoms were his to bend, as was his every desire. He had broken his betrothal to the Baratheon girl without a second thought; a warlord and dragonrider of his stature deserved a bride worthy of his legend. He was the last dragon of House Targaryen, and his queen would be a beauty revered, one whose grace and purity might rival the Maiden herself.
And that was when Aemond first heard of you.
Fleeting whispers had reached him from Oldtown, speaking of his uncle Gwayneâs daughterâa maiden so beautiful that men spoke of you as if you were touched by the gods. Tales claimed you had been cloistered away in the Watchtowerâs highest chamber, veiled to protect the eyes and sanity of any man who caught sight of you.
There, concealed behind shadows and stone, you were kept far from the reach of suitors who risked life and honor in duels, each vying for even a single glimpse of your face.
Your father, Ser Gwayne Hightower, had fallen in the fires of the Dance, and your mother had died bearing you, leaving you alone in that desolate towerâan unclaimed jewel, hidden and waiting.
The thought stirred something fierce within Aemond. He would go to you, he decided. He would see this beauty so lauded, this Hightower daughter untouched by the worldâs corruptions, and he would decide if you were worthy to become his Queen, his Targaryen bride. For if your beauty proved true, you would belong to him alone, bound by devotion and a loyalty owed only to the dragon and its rider.
After landing Vhagar just outside Oldtown, Aemond took a horse into the city, riding with the air of a conqueror. But even he was taken aback by the scene awaiting him. High walls surrounded the Watchtower of House Hightower, fortified and stern, yet it was the gathering outside that seized his attention.
Hundreds of men crowded the courtyard and spilled into the streets, shouting, some nearly brawling as they jostled against one another. Their voices rose in a fervent cacophony, names and cries echoing like a battle chant.
Aemondâs gaze swept over them with disdain. Fools, all of them, clamoring over the mere hope of being in your presence. As he approached the Towerâs gates, the guards lowered their spears and bowed their heads, recognizing the rider of Vhagar, the One-Eyed Prince who now held the realm in his grip.
They opened the gates without question, allowing him through to the Towerâs base, where a young servant girl waited nervously.
She kept her eyes down as she led him up the spiraling stairway to the highest chamber. But Aemondâs curiosity simmered, and his tone was sharp when he finally spoke. âWho are these men gathered outside? What madness drives them to swarm like starving wolves?â
The servantâs face went pale, but she dared to glance up briefly, voice trembling. âTheyâre suitors, my princeâŠmen from every corner of the realm. Many have traveled from the Reach and the Riverlands, even as far as Dorne and the North, all to seek my ladyâs hand.â
Aemondâs eye narrowed, a dark satisfaction curling at the edge of his lips. While the Dance Of Dragons had gone on, you had become something of a legendâa prize for fools and hopeful knights. But you were not for them.
âLet them scream themselves hoarse,â he murmured coldly, mostly to himself, as they reached the final stretch of the climb. His voice softened, though the weight of his words was fierce. âBy nightfall, they will know she belongs to me alone.â
The servant kept her gaze down, fearful of the silent promises in his tone. They finally reached the door to the high chamber, and with a deep breath, she pushed it open, bowing as he strode past her.
As Aemond stepped inside, the air was thick with expectation, and he knew: he would let none of those suitors have youânot while he still breathed.
A figure stood near the narrow window, framed by the dim light filtering through the high stone walls. Draped in a gown as pale as starlight, a delicate veil fell over your hair and face, obscuring your features with an ethereal softness.
You looked less like a woman of flesh and blood, more like some forgotten goddess cast down from the heavens, your beauty hidden behind gauze and shadow. Almost nervously, the servant girl who had led Aemond withdrew, sparing one last, uncertain glance before closing the heavy door, leaving him alone with the lady in white.
The room was silent but for the faint rustle of fabric as the veiled woman turned, your movements graceful yet guarded. You saw himâa tall, imposing figure shrouded in the black and crimson of House Targaryen, his silver hair gleaming like the steel at his hip.
Though your vision was blurred by the veil, there was no mistaking him. Even in the isolated walls of your tower, you had heard tales of him, whispered rumors that crept into your dreams. Aemond Targaryenâthe One-Eyed Kinslayer, the dragonrider who had torn through his own blood, leaving most of House Targaryen ashes in his wake.
A shiver coursed through you as you lowered your head, barely daring to meet his single, penetrating gaze. You bent your head respectfully and murmured, âYour grace.â
At the sound of your voiceâsoft and lilting, as if it had drifted down from the heavensâAemondâs breath hitched, and he paused, his gaze never wavering. You sounded like the very embodiment of the myths that had reached him, a voice so pure it defied the violence that had carved his path to you.
He took slow, deliberate steps toward you, each one bringing him closer to the veiled creature he had come to claim. âI am not only your Prince Regent,â he said, his voice low, almost reverent. âI am your kin as well.â
You nodded, your lashes fluttering beneath the veil. âOf courseïżœïżœcousin,â you replied shyly, your voice no more than a murmur, though it reached him clearly in the silence of the chamber.
Aemondâs lips curved, a hint of satisfaction flickering across his face as he closed the distance between you. âYou must know,â he continued, his tone possessive yet calm, âthat I have not come all this way merely out of kinship. You are spoken of as if you were a queen in waitingâŠyour beauty, your grace. Men would kill for a single look upon your face.â
Your cheeks warmed beneath the veil, though you dared not lift your head. The idea of such fierce, consuming attention unsettled you, yet you could not deny the pull he exerted on your sensesâa dark, magnetic power that seemed to draw you closer, even as your instinct told you to step back.
âAnd now,â Aemond murmured, lifting a hand toward you, fingers ghosting over the edge of your veil, âit is I who have come to see if these tales hold truth. To decide if you are worthyâŠto stand beside me as my queen.â He let the words hang in the air, laden with meaning, with possession.
Beneath the veil, your lips parted, your heartbeat echoing in your ears. The One-Eyed Prince had not come to court or woo you like the other men clamoring below; he had come to claim you, with a certainty that brooked no refusal.
âTell me, cousin,â he whispered, his tone heavy with dark intent, a veiled promise lying beneath each word. âWould you defy me if I named you mine?â
He drew closer, his fingers brushing against yours, sending a shiver through you as your heart hammered against your ribs. The weight of his claim felt as tangible as the stone walls around you, and in that instant, you knew defiance was a luxury that held no place here.
Before you could gather the breath to respond, Aemondâs hand rose toward your veil, his fingertips hovering just above its delicate fabric. A sense of desperation seized you, and your voice broke through the silence, raw and pleading. âDonât! Please⊠I only wish to spare you.â
Aemondâs lips curved in a faint, humorless chuckle, his eye gleaming with something far more dangerous than mere amusement. âSpare me?â he murmured, as though the very idea amused him.
âYou misunderstand, cousin. I do not seek to be saved.â His voice softened, yet the iron in his tone was unmistakable. âI seek only to behold my future wife.â
Your heart raced, every instinct urging you to step back, but your body seemed to betray you, rooted to the spot as Aemond reached out, his fingers grazing the edge of your veil. Slowly, deliberately, he lifted it, casting the thin fabric away and laying bare the face that had haunted his imagination.
The moment the veil fell, silence claimed the room, broken only by Aemondâs sharp intake of breath. His gaze devoured each feature of your face, sweeping over you with an intensity that bordered on reverence, as if he were drinking in the sight of a rare and coveted treasure.
He exhaled slowly, a low growl rumbling in his chest as his fingers traced a line along your cheek, his touch both possessive and tender. âBeautifulâŠâ he breathed, his voice thick with awe and something deeper, something darker. âFar more than any tale could capture. You are⊠a vision.â
A flicker of fear mingled with the warmth on your cheeks, and you dared to lift your gaze to his, the intensity of his stare almost unbearable. He studied you, and you sensed it was not mere admiration that darkened his eye, but hungerâa need so consuming it seemed to radiate from him.
âFrom this day forward,â he murmured, his thumb brushing the line of your jaw, âyou are mine. And I⊠I will allow no one, not even the gods, to take you from me.â
Your breath caught as Aemondâs fingers ghosted over your skin, sparking a fire that seemed to radiate through every inch of you. For a fleeting moment, your eyelids fluttered closed, helplessly savoring the sensation. But reality, sharp and undeniable, tore them open again, reminding you where you stoodâand with whom.
âC-Cousin, pleaseâŠâ you murmured, your voice trembling as your hands pressed against the hard plane of his chest, a fragile attempt to create space. âThis⊠this cannot be. You should notâŠâ
The words stumbled from your lips, half-hearted at best, even as your body betrayed you, arching subtly toward him, drawn like steel to a magnet. A flush of warmth rose beneath your skin, pooling in your cheeks, and beneath the thin fabric of your gown, your nipples peaked, aching under his gaze. The rush of sensations nearly overwhelmed you, each one more intoxicating than the last.
Aemondâs lips curved in a knowing, wicked smile, his eye gleaming as he took in your struggle, your futile attempts at resistance. He leaned in closer, his face mere inches from yours, so close that his breath mingled with yours, warm and heady.
âWrong?â he murmured, his voice a dark, velvet caress, each syllable dripping with unrestrained desire. âThere is no wrong between us, cousin. Only what was always meant to beâŠonly fate and desire.â
Your heart raced, pounding against his chest, each beat echoing the dangerous thrill of his words. His hand slipped to the nape of your neck, his touch firm and possessive, as though he could bind you to him with that single gesture. He tilted your head ever so slightly, his mouth hovering just above yours, his gaze burning with intent.
âWe are bound by blood,â he whispered, his words low and fervent, âby something far stronger than any foolish notion of right or wrong.â His lips brushed the corner of your mouth, a featherlight touch that set your skin alight. âDo you not feel it, the way I do?â
You barely managed a nod, your mind clouded by the closeness, by the undeniable pull of him. With a fluid, almost predatory grace, Aemondâs arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you firmly against him, so close you could feel every contour of his lean frame pressing into yours.
His chest was a wall of heat, solid beneath your touch, and your breath hitched as you became all too aware of the hardness pressing insistently against your belly.
âLet me guide you,â he whispered, his mouth brushing the shell of your ear, his breath warm and laced with promise, âto pleasures beyond the realm of mortal imagination.â His voice was low, dark, each word dripping with seduction as he continued, âYield to me, and I shall make you mine in ways the world could scarcely comprehend.â
Every syllable curled around you, dissolving your remaining resistance like morning mist. Against all sense, your body softened, your resolve unraveling beneath his spell. Aemondâs words, woven with desire and power, coaxed you toward surrender. You melted against him, instinctively seeking the warmth he offered, your heart racing as his grip on you tightened possessively.
âCousinâŠâ you whispered, barely a breath, a mingling of plea and prayer.
Aemondâs lips curved, and he let out a soft, almost condescending click of his tongue, a smirk flickering in his eye. âI ask for so little,â he said, his tone deceptively light before his voice softened, becoming tender, almost reverent.
âSimply allow me to reign over you, to be the master of your heart and soul. Give me your loyalty, your love, your fear⊠let me own you in spirit and in flesh. Do that,â he murmured, his mouth grazing your jawline, âand I will serve you, worship you, slave to your every desire.â
A tremor ran through you as his hand drifted lower, fingers grazing the swell of your breast. Your nipple pebbled instantly, a jolt of pleasure-pain shooting straight to your core. You gasped, your hips involuntarily rolling against his straining erection.
âPlease... â you whimpered, your resistance breaking in the face of such carnal temptation. âI-I am a maiden, a child of the Seven.â
A low chuckle rumbled in Aemond's chest as he felt your delicate form yield to his touch, your body betraying its innate desire despite your protests. His fingers curled around the plump mound of your breast, kneading the soft flesh through the thin fabric of your gown.
âChild no longer,â he rasped, his thumb circling your aching nipple, coaxing it to an even harder peak. âMaidenhood ends today, and a woman shall be born.â
With a swift tug, he ripped the laces of the front of your gown, exposing the swells of your breasts to his hungry gaze. He palmed them roughly, thumbs teasing the stiff peaks as he claimed your mouth in a searing kiss, plundering the sweetness within with his tongue.
"Mine," he growled against your lips, his hands roaming your body possessively
Your cry of shock morphed into a moan of ecstasy as Aemond's mouth ravaged yours, his dominant presence swallowing your very essence. The rough handling of your breasts sent sparks of delight coursing through your veins, your nipples throbbing in time with the pounding of your heart.
"No...no," you breathed against his lips, the words tumbling out unbidden. "This is wrong... this is sinful."
Ignoring your feeble protests, Aemond continued to explore your body with unrestrained lust. His hands roamed freely over your curves, tracing the contours of your body with a reverence usually reserved for sacred texts.
âSinful indeed,â his voice was a husky purr against your lips. âYet how sweetly addictive it tastes.â
His hands trailed lower, bunching your skirts to your waist to find the damp curls at the apex of your thighs. He groaned at the wetness he found there, a testament to your body's readiness for him.
âSuch a delectable little cunt...â he whispered, his fingers slipping between your folds to test your readiness.
Your head fell back, exposing the vulnerable column of your throat as Aemond's skilled fingers delved deeper, stroking your slickened flesh with a confident touch. A shudder rippled through you, your hips canting upwards in desperate pursuit of more.
âP-please...â you gasped, your voice trembling with devastation. âI...I've never...â
Aemond's knowing smirk only heightened your mortification, yet it couldn't quell the inferno building inside you. Your body was aflame, craving the release only he could provide.
âI'm afraid...â you murmured though your eyes were glazed with desire.
Aemond's eye gleamed with triumph as he watched you squirm under his touch, your innocence and inexperience only fueling his desire. He pressed a finger inside you, feeling your tight walls clench around the invading digit.
âFear not, sweet cousin,â he cooed, his voice dripping with false reassurance. âI will be gentle... at first.â
He pumped his finger slowly, savoring the exquisite sensation of your virgin passage yielding to his touch. His thumb circled your pearl, applying just enough pressure to send jolts of pleasure racing through your nerves.
âYou're doing wonderfully,â he praised, his free hand sliding up your thigh to grip your hip firmly. âNow, let's see if we can't coax out that pretty little scream, hmm?â
Your mind reeled, struggling to comprehend the onslaught of sensations assaulting your senses. Aemond's fingers moved within you with a practiced ease, each thrust and twist sending waves of pleasure crashing over you.
âN-no...stop!â you managed to choke out, even as your body betrayed you, arching into his touch. âIt's too much!â
Aemond's grin widened, his eye flashing with dark amusement at your futile attempts to resist. He withdrew his fingers, leaving you empty and aching for more.
âFoolish girl,â he chided, his tone dripping with condescension. âYou crave this, every bit of it. Your body knows what it wants, even if your mind doesn't.â
He seized your wrists, pinning them above your head against the window as he loomed over you, his face inches from yours. His hot breath fanned across your cheeks, carrying the scent of smoke and masculine musk.
âNow, be a good little maiden and spread your legs for me,â he commanded, his voice low and commanding. âLet me taste you.â
Your chest heaved with ragged breaths, your body thrumming with a mix of fear and exhilaration as Aemond's dominance asserted itself. Despite your reservations, a traitorous part of you yearned for the promised pleasure, your core clenching in anticipation.
"N-no...I won't...â you stammered, even as your thighs trembled, betraying your resolve. Aemond's grip on your wrists tightened, his fingers digging into your soft flesh as he forced you to submit.
âPlease...â the word escaped your lips before you could stop it, a plea for mercy that sounded suspiciously like a plea for more, though confusion filled you, âWhy would you wish to taste me?â
Aemond's gaze raked over your trembling form, drinking in every quiver and gasp with sadistic delight. He leaned closer, his lips brushing against the shell of your ear as he spoke, his words dripping with dark promise.
"Because, my dear cousin," he purred, "I want to devour every inch of you until you forget your own name. Until all you know is my touch, my taste, my possession."
With a wicked grin, he released your wrists, only to grab your waist and throw you down upon your bed. You had no time to react before he settled between your legs, his shoulders pushing your thighs apart as he lowered his head, his hot breath ghosting over your sensitive flesh.
Your heart raced, pounding in your ears as Aemond's words painted a vivid picture of degradation and desire. You felt exposed, vulnerable, and utterly at his mercy as he positioned himself between your spread thighs.
âAnd then, once I've had my fill,â he continued, his tongue darting out to trace the seam of your slit, âI'll make you beg for more.â
âNo...please...â your protests dissolved into a whimper as his tongue made contact with your aching sex, the wet heat of it sending shockwaves of pleasure through your body.
Aemond chuckled darkly at your feeble attempts to resist, the vibrations of his laughter sending shivers through your core. He increased the pressure of his tongue, lapping at your slick folds with relish, savoring the taste of your arousal.
âIt's too much...I c-can't take it...â even as you spoke, your hips bucked upward, seeking more of that intoxicating sensation. Your hands flew to his head, tangling in his hair as you tried to pull him closer, to grind yourself against his questing mouth.
âYou lie, sweet cousin,â he murmured against your flesh, his voice muffled but unmistakable. âYou crave this, crave me. Your body sings for me, begs for my touch.â
He sucked gently on your pearl, the suction pulling a sharp cry from your lips. His fingers dug into your hips, holding you in place as he feasted on your cunt, his skillful tongue driving you closer to the edge with each passing moment.
âRelease for me,â he commanded, his eye locking onto yours, burning with an intense, possessive hunger. âLet go and give me everything.â
Your entire being was consumed by the inferno of pleasure that Aemond ignited within you. His words, his touch, his very presence overwhelmed your senses until nothing existed beyond the coil of ecstasy winding tighter and tighter in your core.
âAhh...oh gods...Aemond!â your cries echoed off the stone walls as you said his name for the first time and he pushed you relentlessly towards your peak. Your back arched off the bed, your nails raking down his scalp as you held him close, grinding shamelessly against his face.
âYes...yes! Don't stop...please don't stop...â you babbled incoherently, lost to the maelstrom of sensation. And then, with a final flick of his tongue, you shattered, your release ripping through you with the force of a tidal wave.
As your climax crashed over you, Aemond drank in your essence, reveling in the taste of your release. He lapped at your spasming cunt, prolonging your pleasure until you finally went limp beneath him, panting and dazed.
âBeautiful,â he whispered, his voice thick with satisfaction as he gazed up at your flushed face. He crawled up your body, claiming your lips in a searing kiss, his tongue delving deep to plunder the sweetness of your mouth.
âNow, let us see how well you respond to other pleasures,â he murmured against your lips, his hand sliding down to cup your breast, thumbing your nipple into a stiff peak. âWe have only just begun to explore the depths of your devotion.â
Your mind reeled, struggling to process the intensity of what had just transpired. Aemond's control over your body was absolute, leaving you weak and pliant in his grasp. Yet even as you trembled with aftershocks of pleasure, a thrill of anticipation coursed through you at his words.
âOther pleasure?â you managed to stammer, your voice barely above a whisper. Despite the fear that lingered, a spark of curiosity ignited within you, drawing you deeper into the unknown realm Aemond promised to show you.
âWhat do you mean?â you asked, your breasts heaving with each ragged breath as he fondled them. The sensation of his calloused palm against your tender flesh sent jolts of pleasure-pain straight to your core, making you ache for more.
Aemond's smile was a wicked curve of his lips as he watched your reaction, delighting in the way your body responded to his touch.
He leaned in, his breath hot against your ear as he whispered, âI speak of the exquisite agonies of pleasure, cousin. The kind that make you scream and beg for mercy even as you crave more. The sort that leave you trembling and spent, yet yearning for the next touch, the next thrust...â
His hand slid lower, fingers tracing the juncture of your thighs before dipping into your drenched folds. He circled your sensitive pearl, applying just enough pressure to make you gasp.
âShall I show you these delights, Beloved? Shall I push you to the very brink of madness and back again, all for my own entertainment?â
A shiver ran down your spine at Aemond's words, a delicious chill that mixed with the heat building inside you. His touch was both gentle and ruthless, coaxing out responses you didn't know you possessed. Your hips bucked involuntarily as he stroked your most intimate places, seeking more friction and relief.
âY-yes please...â you breathed, the word torn from you on a moan. Your hands came up to tangle in his long silver hair, holding him close as if to anchor yourself against the storm of sensations he unleashed.
Aemond's fingers danced across your sensitive flesh, pushing you higher and higher until you teetered on the edge of another release. Your vision blurred, your lungs burned for air, and still he teased, denying you the release you craved.
âPlease...I need more,â you whined.
Aemond chuckled low in his throat, the sound sending vibrations through your quivering form. He released your pearl, his fingers trailing up your inner thigh before gripping your hip possessively.
âMore, hmm?â
He leaned back, his piercing gaze drinking in every flush of color on your skin, every hitch of your breath. âVery well, cousin. Let us see how you fare against my cock.â
With a swift motion, he shed his trousers, freeing his rigid length. It stood proud and unyielding, the tip already glistening with pearly wetness. Aemond grasped your ankles, spreading your legs wide as he positioned himself between them.
Your eyes widened as Aemond revealed his manhood, the sight of it making your mouth go dry. The size and shape were intimidating, but a part of you thrilled at the prospect of being stretched so completely. You nodded, unable to find your voice as he spread your legs wider, exposing you fully to his hungry gaze.
âAre you ready to be filled, to be claimed in the most primal way possible?â He asked, his voice a husky growl.
"Yes...â you managed to whisper, your heart pounding in your chest.
Aemond's grip on your ankles tightened as he aligned himself with your entrance. The head of his cock pressed against your slick folds, and you could feel the heat radiating off him. You bit your lip, bracing yourself for the intrusion.
âPlease don't hurt me,â you whispered, your voice tinged with desperation.
Aemond's expression softened slightly at your plea, though the intent in his eye remained unchanged - a fierce, almost feral hunger. He leaned down, his lips brushing your ear as he murmured, âI would never harm you, sweetling," he paused, "at least not unless you begged me to."
With that, he surged forward, his thick cock driving into your welcoming heat in one powerful stroke. Your cry echoed through the chamber as you were split open around him, your body stretching to accommodate his impressive girth.
âFuck, you're tight,â he groaned, pausing for a moment to let her adjust. His hips flexed, pulling nearly all the way out before plunging back in, setting a relentless pace. So fucking perfect...
A sharp cry tore from your throat as Aemond's massive cock impaled you, the sudden invasion sending shockwaves of pleasure-pain through your core. You arched your back, nails digging into his shoulders as he began to move within you, each thrust driving deeper and harder than the last.
"Gods...it's too much..." you panted, struggling to breathe through the intensity of the sensation. âYou're so big...â
Despite the discomfort, your body seemed to mold itself to his, craving the stretch and fullness he provided. Your inner walls clenched around him, trying to draw him in even further.
âMore...give me more...â you whimpered, your hips rising to meet his punishing rhythm.
Aemond grunted in satisfaction at your wanton pleas, his hips snapping forward with renewed vigor. The obscene slap of skin against skin filled the room, punctuated by your keening cries.
âThat's it, take it all,â he growled, his hand fisting in your hair as he angled your head back. âScream for me, let everyone hear how thoroughly I'm claiming you.â
His free hand slid between your joined bodies, finding your swollen pearl and rubbing mercilessly. The dual stimulation had you writhing beneath him, your body wound tighter than a bowstring.
"Come for me, Beloved,â Aemond demanded, his voice rough with lust. âCome on my cock like the desperate little maiden you are.â
The words fell from Aemond's lips like honeyed poison, stoking the flames of your desire until they consumed you whole. Your release crashed over you like a tidal wave, your vision blurring at the edges as ecstasy coursed through your veins.
âYes! Oh gods, yes!â you screamed, your voice echoing off the stone walls.
Your inner muscles spasmed wildly around Aemond's pistoning cock, milking him for all he was worth. The pressure building at the base of your spine reached a fever pitch before exploding outward in a burst of pure bliss.
âAemond!â your name was a ragged gasp as you convulsed beneath him, wave after wave of pleasure washing over you.
Aemond threw his head back with a triumphant roar as your orgasm triggered his own. His cock pulsed inside you, spilling his hot seed deep into your clencing cunt. Each jet seemed to last an eternity, marking you as his in the most primal way possible.
âTake it all,â he snarled, grinding his pelvis against yours to ensure every drop was absorbed by your eager flesh. âYou're mine now, forever and always.â
As the final spurts subsided, Aemond collapsed onto you, his weight pressing you into the mattress. He nuzzled into the crook of your neck, breathing heavily as he savored the aftermath of their coupling.
When Aemond's release flooded your womb, you felt a sense of profound completion wash over you. Your body went limp beneath him, utterly spent yet deeply satisfied.
âYours...â you echoed softly, the word falling from your kiss-swollen lips in a daze. âForever and always...â
As exhaustion tugged at you, your limbs grew heavy, and the events of the day settled over you like a warm, thick blanket. Nestled in Aemondâs arms, you felt a strange comfort, a warmth youâd scarcely known, drawing you closer into his embrace as sleep beckoned. The solid strength of him, the steady rhythm of his breathingâit was all that held you tethered as your eyes drifted shut.
âRest now, my love,â he murmured, his voice a low, satisfied rasp, laced with a possessiveness that left no doubt of his intentions. âWe have much to discuss when youâve recovered.â
Even as you slipped into the gentle embrace of sleep, Aemond remained vigilant, his gaze never leaving you. His mind churned with plans and possibilities, already anticipating the obstacles that lay ahead. He knew that securing his claim upon youâupon both of youâwould not come easily.
His arm tightened around you, a silent vow to protect, to possess, to keep you from any force that might try to tear you from him. Whatever it took, no matter the cost, you would remain his. He would allow no other fate.
A faint, triumphant smile touched his lips as he studied your sleeping face, taking in the softness of your features, the way your hair curled against your cheek. Tonight, he would let himself bask in the satisfaction of knowing you were his, that he had claimed your body and heart as surely as he had marked it.
âSleep well, my queen,â he whispered, reaching out to brush a stray curl from your brow with uncharacteristic gentleness. His thumb lingered a moment, tracing the curve of your cheek, committing every detail to memory.
âTomorrow, I take you to your new home.â
HOPE YOU ENJOYED!

to help with your spring woes, may i offer you a story about my grandpa
i never got to meet him properly since he died before i could remember him, but from what my mom tells me and photos, he was a complete delight, loved baby me, and had a FANTASTIC mustache. i've been told a few stories and facts about him but this ones my favorite
i'm not sure what year it is but at some point they had driven from texas to arkansas to go see some relatives. they were all having a fun time, someone had a bottle of wine to drink
but NOBODY could find the dang corkscrew
after a few minutes of looking grandpa goes FUCK IT and just goes down to the corner store to buy a new one, an uncle accompanying him. they get the corkscrew, go to the counter to pay, and the cashier says:
"i'm sorry sir, i can't sell you this, it's a sunday"
you might be familiar with dry counties but for anyone who isnt basically you cant sell alcohol or alcohol related items on sundays
grandpa is naturally not having this. he looks at the clerk over his glasses, then at my moms uncle, he looks back at him, and then they both look back at the cashier
he takes out a five dollar bill "im SHOPLIFTING this here corkscrew. heres a bribe to not turn me in"
IT WORKED
LMAO I love a good bit of lateral thinking.

PAIRING: Aemond Targaryen X Sister!reader
CONTENT WARNING: incestous relationships (obviously) noncon, dubious con (?), somnophilia, smut (18+, mdni), dark aemond, unprotected sex, breeding, nipple play, forced kissing, threats, coercion, praise, obsessed and sick aemond, display of possessiveness, hair pulling, biting.
SYNOPSIS: After the terrifying battle which took place at Rookâs Rest, Aemondâs lust for power had still not subsided despite burning his own brother, the king of Westeros. He arrives at Kingâs Landing with one thing in mind; to claim everything that belongs to his brother which included â you, his sweet dear sister. The Queen.
Restless and relentless, you paced around the floor of your chambers. Finger nails scratching the skin around them, drawing blood from beneath the stripped flesh.
War was blooming, like a dangerous grey cloud above your heads with the prominent promise of a storm. Panic was everywhere, as well as despair. Multiple soldiers had died, leaving behind their families to fend for themselves, the King had fallen.
And amongst all that, you could only possibly worry for the well being of your only child, Jaehaera. After what had befallen your innocent babe, you had completely disconnected from everything.
Under the name of war, you suffered. You witnessed the atrocities committed by Rhaenyraâs men and your mind had become a void â as you found yourself sinking deeper and deeper into it. Images and reality merging together. Both a foreign concept.
There was no one there for you.
Everyone enamoured with the idea of winning the war, playing their parts, desperate to stay alive. You were all but a pawn, a machine to produce heirs. You knew they didn't even consider you a proper Queen.
The smallfolk and even your own mother, Dowager Queen as well as your brother, Aemond.
Yet you did not care.
You wished to be left alone, pay no mind to such things. Break free from the uneasy restraints of danger and war. Form peace, relish in it. Is all you wanted.
You were not blessed with the courage to go pay your badly injured husband a visit, choosing to nip and scratch at your own skin was a much better and comforting option.
Losing your babe made you realize none of this was worth it. Not a single person in Westeros could end the brewing war and you'd left everyone to fend for themselves â just as they had abandoned you.
Darkness fell over Westeros and meanwhile your maidens were preparing you for bed, Aemond on the other hand battled obscene thoughts and needs at such a dark hour.
Aemond drowned himself in wine yet it had no affect on him. Instead he found himself wondering about staking a claim over everything that belonged to his brother. He got the throne, when he didn't even wish for it and he got you â the sister that Aemond himself wanted.
From when you both were only children, little kids, Aemond had thought of marrying his older sister. Only a year younger, he was. Hoping he'd be the one who's children you'd carry, watching your stomach swell up with his babes and be his wife but even that was snatched right away from him in the name of serving the realm.
His childhood snatched â face left deformed and disabled, a laughing stock that he'd become for his older brother. The drunken fool who had no right to even linger around such a prestigious throne, made only for strong willed men and warriors to take a seat on.
Aegon was no warrior.
He was foolish, an embarrassment and an utter disappointment.
Incapable of pronouncing a word properly in high valyrian.
And he surely did not deserve to have such a sweet little bird such as yourself by his side.
He finished his wine in one gulp and slammed the glass down, aggressively against the wooden table. Criston Cole was nowhere to be seen and Aemond made up his mind to ravage you, to claim you like he had already desired to from the beginning of time.
His steps were stable and strong, booming through the halls of the red keep. Each step only brought him closer to your chambers, driving himself quickly up the stairs which lead to your chambers.
He was relieved to find no guards guardian you and scoffed, realizing how little and less important you were to the Hightowers.
Aemondâs hands moved to push past the doors and there you were, sound asleep in your bed. Your daughter asleep in a cradle a little far away from your bed. He closed the heavy doors and sauntered towards the bed, standing at its foot.
He had consumed wine but he was not drunk at all. Matter of fact, Aemond was as sober as the day he was born.
Your silk robe concealed the plush of your creamy breasts as they rose up and down in soft little attempts to inhale air, one arm laid leisurely over your stomach while the other somewhere concealed within your silver, sparkling hair.
Aemond felt his cock harden in his leather slacks, his sword still attached to his hip. Reaching for it, he undid it and placed it over a table across and then moved his body to continue admiring your body, the vulnerability you showcased had him frozen on the spot.
The lecherous act he was heading to engage in would surely leave you in disarray too but Aemond was too far gone to even care anymore.
He'd arrived to claim what was rightfully his.
He walked to the side of the bed, hands reaching out to remove the blanket from your frail figure. Then his hands pried open the robe, revealing your kirtle. It scarcely did anything to veil your dignity and Aemond shuddered.
His hands, his war causing hands, sinful hands, moved covetously over your body. Fingers digging into your neckline to pull it down, watching with his one good eye as your breasts spilled out. The cold air forced your pebbles into peaks and Aemond nearly lost all restraint.
Large hand cupping your left breast, a callous thumb flicked your nipple and your already parted lips released a short lived gasp. He was pleased with the soft sound, as subtle as it was.
Aemond sat next to you on the empty space, slithering his tongue over his plump lips. Your breaths were soft, the only sound echoing in the expanse of your room, cutting through the silence like butter. His own breath hitched in his throat, upon witnessing the disarray you were in.
Hair like rippled waves of the narrow sea, body loose and comfortable. Aemond leaned in, shrinking the space between the two of you, to analyze your features. He'd never gotten the chance to do, you'd never allow him. You were anything but an immoral woman who'd give herself to him on a silver platter.
You were the Queen.
Aemond knew he'd be reprimanded for even being in your room, staring at you up close like this. He had unraveled you like some gift, like a present and he wished to do so much more.
Your beautifully long lashes coated the apples of your cheeks and Aemond, with a gloved hand, reached to swipe the thick strand of hair away from your cheek. Just by touching you, despite having leather separate his skin from becoming one with yours, he was already thanking the Gods for blessing him with you.
Aemond slowly slipped his gloves off, resting them on the table next to the bed. He fully slipped into bed next to you, face buried in the crook of your neck and bare hands slithering to fondle with your beautiful, plump breasts.
Soft flesh with hardened nipples.
A soft breath from his lips ghosted over your nape, his hips pushing into your hip in dire need for physical affection. Aemond had slept with whores, he'd fucked them but for the first time in his life he wanted to lay with a woman to satiate his hopelessness for affection.
Something he never received from his mother, Alicent and Rhaenyra always managed to overshadow him.
He let out a guttural moan, pushing his hips more into you and when you shifted in your sleep â back turned to him, Aemond fucking lost it. You had exposed your perfect curves to him, how your ass was shaped and how your side dipped in, giving you the shape of a goddess.
In your state of unconsciousness, you had presented yourself to him like a feast.
Aemondâs actions grew haste. Hands reaching from behind to grope your tits much more roughly, hips stuttering into you from behind and his cock leaked from the amount of pleasure the depravity of this endeavor brought him.
His breath grew quicker, heavier and your sleep was soon disturbed. As you fluttered your eyes opened, revealing the purple hues, your sleepy brain finally acknowledged your surroundings and the cold, callous hands fondling you from behind.
You gasped, giving away hint of your consciousness and before you could even scream, Aemond had already wrapped a palm over your mouth.
âSh, sh. It's me, Aemond.â As if that would make things much better for you, but this revelation only worked to make things harder for you.
Your eyes widening in horror and when you tried to shift, a feeble attempt to slip out of his tight grasp, you realized the severity of the situation. Aemondâs hard manhood was pressed up right between your ass. Your brother's and it left you completely astonished. Your flight or fight response being triggered.
You tried to say something but only muffled words paired with broken sobs tore managed to make through the little space between Aemondâs slim fingers clasped tightly over your lips. Your vision blurred as you tried to focus on the cradle in which your daughter laid, asleep and in peace.
Aemond had glued himself to you. âI've missed you, dear sister. I miss our childhood, I miss what we had. Remnants of our childhood always haunts me.â
You almost felt bad. Guilt ridden because somewhere, deep down, you were aware of the feelings your brother harbored for you. The two of you would even go as far as behaving as you were already betrothed to each other when younglings.
You moved past it, accepted your loveless marriage with the care less drunken brother of yours. You succumbed to your targaryen traditions, roles and duties bestowed upon you by the Gods but it appeared that Aemond decided to fight that Gods.
He chose to go against destiny and the traditions.
âI will remove my hand and you shall keep your honor and dignity intact, Dear sister.â You nodded in desperation and Aemond with great reluctance peeled his hand off your face, causing you to inhale a sharp breath.
You registered the situation you were in. Breasts spilled out, hair pushed aside with Aemond buried in your nape. Seeking solace that he never found in his mother's embrace and you swallowed. Tears streamed down, soaking into the cushions.
âThis is wrong.â You whispered, hoping that you don't awaken the dragon in him. âImmoral, Aemond. I am your sister, the Queen. I carried His Graceâs heirs. You cannot do this.â
Your tone was fearsome and Aemondâs irritation grew when you faced him with the facts. He knew about this already and he did not care, not in the slightest. His arm which had wrapped around your waist, tightened, a warning to tread carefully.
âHis Grace is also your brother, our brother, so what is so immoral about us engaging in such..â Aemond couldn't call it debauchery, because he didn't see it exactly as that. He saw it as something more, something pure beyond anyone's understanding. âacts.â
You tried to shift, to face him and when you did, Aemond was already staring back at you, his patch still over his disabled eye.
Surely with more persuasion he would leave your chambers and you could pretend that none of this happened but unfortunately for you, there was no God, no sept or no traditions that could change his mind.
âAemond, I'm his lady wife. I'm merely your sister. Please try to understanââ
Aemond nearly growled. âDo not remind me over and over again that he â a drunkard, an idiot â managed to put his heirs in you when you were supposed to carry mine! You were mine, do you hear me? It is about time I get what is rightfully mine, what was taken from me.â
Before you could say more, Aemond closed the space between you two and captured your lips in a rough kiss. One with which you could not keep up â small fists banging at his chest, in tethered hope that he might have a change of heart and dissipate from your presence.
Your husband was fighting for his life, meanwhile you were laying nearly bare in front of your brother.
You felt bile rise up in your throat but you had no other option than to swallow it back down as Aemondâs passionate lip lock grew more restless and haste. Using up all your strength in an endeavor to push him, yet there was no retribution. He carried on with his sick intentions.
His hands moved down to grab a handful of both your tits, his lips swallowing your little whines and pleas. His rutting which had stalled, continued again as he pushed his hardened cock into your mound.
âA-Aemond.. â You tried to reason, still.
His hands worked their way around your breasts, flicking your hardened peaks repeatedly and your body twitched. You did not wish to accept it but this was the most pleasure you'd felt in your whole life.
Warming your husbandâs bed was only to fulfill his desires, his needs and wants. You were solely a doll, a lifeless being who only existed for Aegon to have his pleasures with. You always wondered how your own mother could subject you to such cruelty, such monstrosity.
To lay awake at night and welcome your husband, whom you do not wish to even breath the same air as, with open arms.
Aemondâs potent tongue pried your lips open and you let it happen, not possessing any more of courage. His tongue danced with yours, a reminiscent of the dragons that danced above Rooksâs Rest. He panted like a wild beast, and you followed.
Dire need to consume you warred with his ache for you and Aemond soon tore away from you but continued flicking your swollen buds. He stared at you, eye dark and rapacious.
Your cheeks were flushed and the rays of moonlight illuminated the beads of sweat on your forehead. Aemond was lost in you, drunk off a single kiss and he simply could not wait to have more of you.
âYou have grown into such a beautiful woman, Sister.â Aemond praised, pinching both your hardened pebbles simultaneously and you cried out a wail. âBut before me I still see my older sister, nuha byka hunte.â
You flinched at the name.
He addressed you as his little bird in high valyrian when you were kids and then he stopped, after witnessing your wedding to his brother. In all honesty, you longed to be called that and Aemond had finally responded to that longing of yours, unknowingly.
Aemondâs hands fell, fingers tucking underneath the edge of your silk robe as he tugged at it. You didn't allow it â still fighting back as you stayed still. He didn't like that one bit. The Targaryen man pressed his forehead against yours, warm breath lingering like a looming threat.
âYou will let it happen.â He commanded, rendering you speechless. Chills dancing across your frail frame at the sheer dominance in his voice. Just when did your little Aemond grow up into a masculine and domineering man?
You shook your head, staring at him with a plea. âStop âtis for I am the Queen, I am your Queen and I demand you to stop.â
Aemond tugged at the dress, bunching it up past your thighs. âI wish you were my Queen but instead those fucking cunts had you warming up my brotherâs bed like some common whore.â
The overwhelming urge to cry took over and you sobbed, banging your fists against Aemondâs chest. It didn't seem to affect him much but it did rile him up how you fought to accept him but most probably allowed his brother in â gave yourself up to him in the name of duty and sacrifice.
âI'm not a whore!â You wailed, punching him over and over again. To flee from the upcoming acceptance of your situation but Aemond reprimanded you. He forbade you and greeted you in the form of your queasy truth.
Aemond grabbed both your wrists, glaring at you. âYet he treats you as one. You're even below that for him. I have seen him show kindness he's never shown you, to a fucking whore. Not the mother of his children, not his queen, but a whore for some coin.â
The reality Aemond was making you face was slowly poisoning you from the inside. You couldn't even hit him anymore as your wrists had been restrained. Your demeanor fell and Aemond took notice, his fingers unclasping from around your small wrists.
He saw how you cried.
Softly, each tear falling as your pale pillow awaited to absorb your pain.
âBut I would treat you differently. If it had been me, I would have cherished you like the only woman in the seven kingdoms and beyond that.â He whispered to you with yearning obvious in his voice.
Aemond managed to slip the petticoat off your body and revealed you to him â in all your glory. Skin bare and glistening from sweat. Each curve delicious and crafted by the seven Gods themselves. You were the embodiment of pure targaryen beauty, some even going as far as claiming you to be the most beautiful targaryen woman.
You tried to reach for the blanket, to cover the shredded pieces of your dignity but Aemond hurried to refrain you from doing so.
He grabbed both your wrists, slamming your back down on the bed and pinning you against the mattress. His body hovering over yours, knee bent and settled between your thighs. Your chest heaved, and tits bounced from the force of harsh pants.
Aemondâs knee pried open your thighs rather forcefully, pressing his knee against your cunt. His vile action had earned a whimper of discomfort and embarrassment out of you, your whole being resenting the throbbing sensation spreading in your core as it flourished.
âTonight I shall have you and cherish you like you deserve, like I should have.â Aemond whispered, tone grave. âIf you choose to stay adamant and resilient, I cannot promise you humility, nuha byka hunte.â
Your lips formed into a pout, tear ducts sore from all the droplets you'd shed. âA-Aemond please, don't. If you do this, everything will change.â
Aemond scoffed at your naivety. âEverything has changed, Sister. Brother is injured, I'm prince regent and you're going to carry my children.â
You shook your head, pushing at his slim frame but that only resulted in Aemondâs hand drowning in your silver, pale locks. A malicious grip tugging at the roots, a fiery sensation blooming.
âThey will be bastards.â A lone tear slid down.
Aemondâs lips broke in a sadistic smirk. âAnd? The pretender can have bastards, not even remotely close to her late husbandâs features but I can't have bastards with you?â
He licked his lips, his pointy, sharp nose caressing against your own. âOur children will look like true born Targaryens. They will have our purple eyes and silver hair.â
There was no point.
You were defeated.
Aemond saw you accept defeat and he smiled in victory, his other letting go off your hair and moving to grab yours. He pulled it to the strings of his leather slacks and encouraged you to undo them.
You shook your head and that angered Aemond.
How adamant could you be?
âI will shove my cock into your cunt one way or another and I will make sure my seed takes root inside you.â The vulgarity of his words made you sob, your hands trembling as you began to undo his strings. Pulling each one from the knots and finally loosening the leather enough for him to slide out of it.
Aemond was pleased and soon, he was naked too.
Leather pieces thrown over to the side along with his eye patch too.
When your gaze captured the sparkling sapphire in the void of his left eye, you were left appalled.
He had never ever shown you what was behind that eye patch. Even after you begged him to, he grew cold and pushed you away but now you had begun to realize it was probably because of the announcement of your betrothal to Aegon.
His silky strands were in a tedious contrast to your wavy, thick ones.
Lingering eyes caught the awakened cock between his legs and horror flashed in your widened eyes. He was blessed by the Gods, that was for sure and no wonder your brother was this famous amongst the ladies. He had the equipment to satisfy them.
You gulped, nervousness donning your face.
âI slept with other woman so I could become better for you. Incompetence and lack of experience would surely ruin this time, don't you think so, sweet Sister?â Aemond spoke, as his hand dropped from your knee to your center.
You flinched every time he caressed your skin and your abdomen twitched with absolute need. You failed to fathom where all this rush and need was birthing from â how the disgust lingered but along it roamed a feeling of desire which had erupted in the form of essence from your hole.
Aemond ran his slim, tenacious fingers over the stripe of your cunt, gathering the arousal you produced. âYour little cunt is very wet, Sister. Disobedience, wails and pounding at my chest. Is this all merely an act, to veil your sickly desires beneath?â
Your breath broke and humiliation draped itself around you like an invisible blanket. Your small hand reached over to deliver a tight slap to your brother's face, but it barely caused an impact. All you left was a red hand print on his face.
Aemond looked at you, head tilted and fire born in his eye.
You had awakened the dragon.
âYour actions tell me you have no desire to be treated with respect. So be it then.â
Your low chances of rebuttal were revoked as he slid two fingers at once into your opening, going to the point until he was knuckles deep inside your squelching cunt. You sobbed hopelessly, hands trying to push at him but none of it worked.
Your resistance only boosted his ego, his god complex. He had all the power over you, despite you being the Queen. How fucking pathetic and cruel life had been to you but Aemond was here. He was here to save you, and in order to do that, he had to claim you first.
You pushed inside you, caressing your cervix and your gummy walls clasped around his fingers. Your nails dug into his shoulder to cause him pain but that was a failed attempt as Aemondâs cock hardened even more â if that were possible â when he felt the prickling feeling on his shoulder.
The pain inflicted only heightened his arousal.
âA-Aemond, please.â Your cries were the least bit of his concerns, as he curved his fingers up and managed to hit that sweet concealed spot of yours.
Your back arched, lifting up from the mattress, hands bunching up the sheets in them. Writhing your hips, Aemond used his other hand to strike you down â a stinging sensation blossoming on your thigh. You suckled on your lower lip, to stifle your sounds. Jaehaera waking up could possibly ruin everything.
âThe Queenâs cunt is truly worth becoming a kingslayer for. Look at how tightly you squeeze around my fingers, Sister.â He whispered, staring at you. You caught the shimmering of the sapphire and sniffled, your cheeks and nose a crimson color.
Death was much better than this humiliation at the hands of your own brother â one you used to see as your protector when you were a little girl.
âH-Have shame. Your sister.â You managed to whimper out and Aemond groaned in annoyance, retrieving his fingers from your cunt.
Your hole gaped as you whined at the loss of contact. He laid next to you, flipping you so your back was facing him. Aemond kicked your thighs open with his shins and pressed his red leaking cock head over your clit, moving it in soft little circles. The burial of your face in your pillows made you realize just how unbearable all this was.
âDo not turn away from me.â Aemondâs voice had a plea in it. âYou allowed Aegon in, why is it so difficult to allow me in? I promise you, nuha byka hunte. You will never feel shame again, you will never be embarrassed by your husband again.â
His promises almost worked.
You found yourself wondering whether this was so bad. You'd slept with Aegon, in a much more brutal way, worse than Aemond. Usually he'd ignore you and your pleasure in his drunken state, only chasing after his own. Aemond made you feel good.
He actually cared enough to bring you pleasure.
You nodded your head with a soft sob. You wished things were better, that your betrothed was Aemond, not the other brother but things never turned out the way you wanted them to.
Aemond aligned his cock with your hole and sunk into you, face hidden in your nape as his naked body sought comfort in your presence, basking in it. His chin resting on the small cup of your shoulder, breath caressing the skin of your neck.
He was almost like a babe.
âAemond.â You called out, feeling bad for what he was put through as a child. For what he had turned out to be.
Having your own children made you realize how easy it was to provide them with affection, so it was difficult for you to fathom why your own mother failed to show you and your brothers affection.
Aemond melted at the way you softly called out his name and his cock had fully sheathed inside your cunt, thighs pressed up against your ass. You'd become one and he was going to have you for himself now.
âYes, my sweet sister?â
âIt feels weird.â You spoke truthfully as you had never ever lay with a man in such a close and intimate position. Aemond figured what you were hinting at and he smiled, pressing a chaste kiss to your nape.
He moved his hips, stuttering inside you, grinding into your ass. Your sounds nearly woke up your daughter if it wasn't for Aemondâs hands slithering from behind, one groping your tits while the other silencing you.
âQuiet now. You don't wish to wake up your daughter, do you now?â You shook your head as he slowly rutted his cock inside you, pushing it deeper into that weak spot of yours and muffled sounds escaped your sealed lips.
Tears fell, and so did your dignity as your brother fucked himself into you with newfound vigor meant to swallow you whole.
Aemond lost his demeanor, his usually calm and nonchalant demeanor. Transforming into the sadistic monster that he was. He pulled his hand back from your swollen breasts and brought it to your hair, pulling it up rather harshly to expose more of your sweet skin.
A perfect spot. A clean canvas for him to paint his bloody streaks across.
He parted his lips open, baring his teeth and sinking the sharp canines into your skin. Being punctured with such severity, even his hand could not prevent the piercing scream that tore through your throat.
Your eyes squeezed shut as Aemond sunk his teeth. The searing pain of prickling bones a deadly contrast with the soft, sensual thrusts of his cock. A mess he had made you into and there was no escape from the lecherous bounds of your brother.
âI-It hurts. Aemond, it hurts!â You cried out, writhing against his body but his arm had locked you in place. Right against him.
The more you struggled, the more his long arm like a snake tightened around your stomach. He did not budge, not at all. Focused fully on the task at hand which was to leave a gut wrenching mark, as a testament to his claim over you.
When he was done suckling and drawing blood, he pulled back and hummed in satisfaction at the mark. A mix of reds, blues and purples. Such hues looked absolutely breathtaking on you. He pressed a soft kiss over the bruise, the two punctured hole and you shuddered.
Helplessness washed over you.
Your husband was hurt, in pain meanwhile you engaged in such debauchery with your brother.
Aemond snapped his hips, now ramming his cock into you. Pounding with potency and your body surged forward. He reached for your leg and pulled it up, holding it in air as he fucked you.
âP-Please. You're my brothââ
âShut your damn hole.â Aemond snapped, patience wearing thin. âKeep saying I'm your brother but it only arouses me more.â
You gasped when you felt his cock head hit into that spongy bubble of sensitivity and Aemond scrunched his brows in over whelming pleasure. He had taken many maidens and whores but you were different â of course you were. A targaryen princess turned Queen, his own blood and flesh.
You ought to be different.
Aemond reveled in the feeling of your tight cunt pressing down on his cock, caressing every vein, soaking it in your juices. The sounds of his flesh colliding against yours enticed him in a way that he could not fathom. Like milk of the poppy, he wished to continue absorbing you.
His fingers rubbed your clit, the swollen bud twitching. All this pleasure, that you were so foreign to, it overwhelmed you. Thighs convulsing and abdomen building up knots, a warning of your upcoming orgasm.
âBrother, somethingâs happening. Aemond, please!â You wailed and he stared at your sweaty, flustered face.
Gods, had Aegon never once made you unravel?
How fucking pitiful.
Aemond grinned. âYeah? You're going to make a mess, dear sister.â
Your stomach tightened and this unfamiliar feeling took over. Your eyes rolled to the back of your skull and your hands shifted hastily to find something, anything to grab a hold of as your body transcended to another realm. One visible to those who indulged themselves im such debauchery.
Aemond hissed. The sheer tightness of your cunt made him feel like he'll snap in half, his own groans and moans loud enough to reverberate through your chambers. He still continued to thrust, earning your climax out of you.
When you were done, Aemond raised himself and pulled his cock out of you. Relief washed over you but how naive were you, to assume he'd get dressed and leave without chasing after his own pleasure. Your eyes fluttered open and you found him right between your legs, kneeled.
âAre you not done?â Your voice was weary, soft and tired. Aemond chuckled at your innocence, both hands pulling your thighs apart.
His one good eye stared at your cunt, pink flesh glistening from your creamy arousal. He felt the urge to lean in and lick along the swollen stripe of your pussy but the throbbing of his cock made him cave in. He slipped inside you again, pulling both your legs up and balancing them on his shoulders.
Your lips released a gasp.
Aemondâs bestial and rapacious thrusts made you cry, muffled wails breaking apart. He stared at you as the sapphire glinted, his cock driving itself with fervor into your cunt, enjoying your sweet vice like grip.
Your shaky hands reached for his face, to cup it and Aemond leaned in your touch. Affectionate it was, his lips parted as he let out a broken breath, similar to how he felt on the inside. A broken boy and you felt horrible, like it was all your fault to begin with.
He had turned into a monster and it was all your fault.
âYour eye,â you whispered, his snaps coming to a halt. âits beautiful. You look so beautiful, Aemond.â
He admired you before snapping out of the trance and pounding into you. Aemondâs cock found comfort in your tight cunt and his release had grown closer to. You cried out, vision completely blurry and lips swollen, covered in drool.
âMy beautiful sister.â He growled, pressing his pelvis against yours. âI shall fill you up, give you a child of mine. Your stomach will swell with our child. Your beautiful breasts will once again pump milk, this time for our babe.â
His palm laid flat on your stomach and you shook your head. You didn't want him to give you a child, as it would end badly for the both of you yet Aemond did not bother himself with traditions. He nuzzled his cock into you and with a loud groan, shot ropes after ropes into your walls.
Tainting your gummy flesh white. You sobbed as you felt the warm fluid fill up your stomach, your whole body suffering from prominent convulsions. Aemondâs cock bulged against your taut stomach, a fine print visible to you both.
When Aemond was done with his release, he pulled out and dropped on the bed right besides you. Body numb and throat parched from all the sounds you'd made, your gaze lingered across the room to find your daughter sound asleep.
Thank the Gods.
You turned to Aemond and found him already staring at you. His arm wrapped around you, refraining you from moving away from him as he nuzzled his neck into your neck. Aemond sniffed your scent, closing his eyes and relishing the sweetness of it. God, you were a dream come true for him.
âI will get rid of him soon.â Aemond whispered, hair mixing in with yours. âAnd then I will have you as my wife. Our child shall be conceived within the bounds of our marriage.â

ch 3 // fractured realities
Streams of light filter in through the drapes of your bedroom, casting a soft glow across the room.
A groan escapes your lips as you feel a dull throb on your templeâa reminder of the countless glasses of wine and champagne you indulged in at the gala. But as fragmented images of the evening flood your mind, your headache doesnât end there.
You kissed Satoru Gojo.
Correctionâyou kissed the hell out of Satoru Gojo.
Each detail is more vivid than the lastâthe warmth of his breath, the firmness of his hold, the taste of him, and his soft groan that you swallowed against your lips.
God, it felt too real, too intense.
You sit up in your bed, rubbing your temples as you try to shake off the lingering effects of last nightâs revelry, but you canât ignore the fluttering sensation that stirs withinâyour cheeks growing hot from the memory.
Ugh. Being hungover and flushed is not a combination you enjoy.
When did Satoru start having such an intense effect on you?
You want to blame it on a lapse of judgementâperhaps the alcohol lowered your inhibitions? Sure, letâs go with that. That feels better than admitting that maybe you secretly wanted to kiss Satoru Gojo.
Heâs insufferable after allâyou canât stand himâŠright?
Fuck, this is confusing.
Why does it feel like there has been a subtle tension between you and Satoru that has been simmering beneath the surface for a while now, each interaction, each glance, adding fuel to the fire?
Every shared look carries an unspoken promise, every touch lingers a fraction too long, leaving your skin tingling and your heart racing. Itâs as if youâre both walking a tightrope, balancing on the edge of something profoundly transformative.
Are you imagining things?
Silently cursing yourself, you know these thoughts youâre having will only make things more complicated. This is simply a contractânothing more.
Transactional. Business.
With a deep sigh, you swing your legs over the side of the bed, hoping to shake off these intrusive throughs with a stretch of your muscles.
If only it were that simple.
Perhaps a shower will help clear your mindâa chance to cleanse yourself from the remnants of last nightâs indulgences.
Shuffling towards the bathroom, a yawn escapes your mouth as you rub your eyes tiredly, reaching for the door. But the moment you open it, you freeze in your tracks.
With nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist, Satoru stands outside the shower, droplets of water glistening on his bare chest, each bead tracing the defined lines of his muscles. You canât help but notice the way the water trails down his torso, accentuating every ridge and curve. Itâs as if heâs been sculpted from marble, each detail painstakingly crafted to perfection.
For a moment, neither of you moveâa stunned silence filling the room as your eyes lock.
His damp hair sticks to his forehead in an almost boyish manner, contrasting sharply with his otherwise commanding presence, and your eyes trail downwardsâŠ
Oh.
The smooth contours of his abs carve a path down towards the towel hanging precariously low on his hips, leaving little to the imagination.
Your heart races, and you feel a blush rushing to your cheeks. Your eyes flicker back up to Satoruâs and fuck, he caught youâeyes twinkling with amusement as his lips slowly curl into a self-satisfied grin.
âGood morning to you too. Enjoying the view?â
The heat in your cheeks intensifies as your eyes widen, blinking rapidly, trying to snap yourself out of your daze.
âI... I didnât realize you were in here,â you stammer, voice higher than usual.
Satoruâs smirk widens as he reaches for an extra towel, rubbing it against his head to dry his hair. He then drapes the towel across his shoulders and meets your gaze with an alluring glint.
âWell, if you wanted to see more, you only had to ask.â
Pressing your lips together in protest, you try to regain some semblance of composure. Satoru had always teased youâdonât take it too seriously, you tell yourself.
Clearing your throat, you advert your gaze, though the crimson hue still remains on your cheeks.
âDonât flatter yourself. It was an accidentâbesides, youâre the one who forgot to lock the door.â
Satoru lets out a contemplative hum, feigning innocence as he walks towards the sink.
âGuess Iâm not used to sharing a bathroom,â he leans against the counter and crosses his arms, eyes surveying you with a mischievous glint, âYouâre to blame too though, couldâve at least knocked. Unless, you were hoping to join me?â he grins.
Your eyes widen, and you can feel the blush creeping up your neck.
âIn your dreams, Satoru.â
A low chuckle escapes him as his stare bores into youâoh how he lives for this. Satoruâs always loved seeing you flustered, but this? This is something else entirely, a new level of satisfaction he hadnât anticipated.
âSure, sure,â he pauses, then tilts his head to the side. âBut youâre still standing there, arenât you?â
You swallow hard, eyes flickering between his face and his chest, unable to decide where to look. His satisfaction grows with every falter in your gaze, his knowing smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. Each glance is a step deeper into a trap of your own making, an unspoken admission that he holds more sway over you than you care to admit.
âJust... put some clothes on, please. And yes, Iâm standing here because Iâd like to take a shower. Arenât you done? Why are you still here.â
âOh sure, Iâm done. You can shower, but arenât you gonna return the favor? Do I get a show too?â
Your breath catches in your throat at his boldness, the heat in your cheeks spreading down your neck. The intensity of his gaze pins you in place, a silent challenge that sends a shiver through your body.
âNot a chance,â you reply, trying to keep your voice steady. âThis isnât some kind of peep show.â
Satoru gives you an annoyingly innocent pout, rubbing his neck with a sly grin, eyes twinkling with amusement.
âTch. Too bad. Wouldâve been a great way to start the morning.â
You roll your eyes, pushing past him to get to the shower.
âOut,â you command, pointing towards the door.
He raises his hands in mock surrender, still chuckling as he walks out.
âAlright, alright. Enjoy your shower, princess.â
You lock the door firmly behind himâheart pounding and your thoughts in disarray. As you step into the shower and the warm water cascades over you, you canât help but replay the scene in your mind, each word and gesture etched vividly in your memory.
Heâs just teasingâyou remind yourself as you try to push away the fluttering feeling in your chest. Donât take his words seriously, your relationship is a charade.
You close your eyes, letting the water wash over you, but the confusion remains.
Fuck. This is getting complicated.
êšïž
The moment you close the door firmly behind him, Satoru leans against it for a moment, his smirk fading into a more contemplative expression.
He runs a hand through his hairâthe sight of you, wide-eyed and blushing, had done more to him than he cared to admit. Exhaling slowly, he realizes that heâs in deeper than he thought.
As his thoughts drift back to the kiss you had shared at the gala, a familiar heat pools in his lower abdomen. The way your lips had felt against hisâsoft and invitingâthe memory of your taste, the way you fit so perfectly against himâŠfuck. It stirs something primal within him.
He canât deny the growing attraction he feels. After seeing you there with your cheeks flushed and your eyes surveying him, he had wanted to pull you closer, to see if your lips were as warm and inviting as he remembered.
Satoru groans as he adjusts his towel, feeling the fabric brush against his growing erection, trying to focus on anything other than the way you looked at himâthe way the framework of your sleepwear accentuated your curves, the indent of your nipples peeking through the thin satin of your tank top. God, his desire only intensifies.
The contract was clearâno emotional entanglements. Yet here he was, aroused as his mind is consumed by you. He canât help but wonderâŠwhat would it be like to explore this connection further, to let go, to give in to his curiosity completely.
Would it be so bad to justâŠfantasize?
He hears the shower turn on from behind the closed doorâGod, he can just imagine what it would be like to slide his hands all over your bare body.
Reaching down, he unwraps the towel from his waist, his cock slamming against his abdomen as it springs free from confinement. He curses under his breath; this wasnât supposed to happen. He shouldnât be thinking of you like this, but he canât help but reach down and grip the base of his girthâhe needs this, he wants this.
He needs you.
A soft groan escapes his lips as he begins to stroke himself, his hand moving slowly as he traces a familiar path over his length. There's a dull thud as Satoru's head hits the door, his eyes fluttering shut as he gives in to his imagination.
He can picture it vividly in his mind, the way the water would slide over your body, the way you'd respond to his touch... fuck, he can practically hear the little gasps and moans that would escape your lips as he touches you, the sounds that would drive him wild.
He bites his bottom lip, his hand moving slowly, trying to be as silent as possible. The thought of you, just on the other side of the door, excites him even more.
His breath comes out in short gasps as he imagines you, wet and wanting under the spray of the shower. The way your body would arch beneath his touch as he slides his digits between your warm walls. The water would run in rivulets down your body and youâd shiver under his touch, whispering his name, begging for more.
His breathing grows heavier as he speeds up his pace, envisioning you on your knees before him, your head bowed in submission, wet and flushed, looking up at him with a half-lidded desire in your eyes.
He wants you so desperately it's painfully evident in every movementâitâs almost too much to bear.
Your name slips from his lips â a desperate plea rather than a simple invocation. Fuck, it feels so good to have your name rolling off his tongue as he does something so indecent.
He can almost feel your hot, wet tongue swirling around his sensitive head, tasting him, savoring him. His free hand trails down to cup his balls, rolling them gently between his fingers as he pumps faster, just as you would while you take every inch of him in your pretty little mouth.
âFuckâŠâ he hisses through clenched teeth, his pace quickening as he chases the release he so desperately craves.
He shouldnât be doing this, especially not right outside the bathroom door. But in this moment, he can't bring himself to care. Nothing else matters but you.
He pictures himself taking you right there, pushing you against the tiled wall, claiming your mouth in a fierce kiss as he thrusts himself deep inside you. The image of you quivering in pleasure drives Satoru further into madness. His strokes become erratic, desperate.
Satoru's entire body tenses, muscles coiling tight as he throws his head back. A desperate whine slips past his clenched teeth âFuckâŠIâm gonnaâŠâ
His hips jerk erratically, pumping his cock in time with the spasms wracking his body. He whimpers as spurt after spurt of hot cum coats his stomach and chest, the sticky fluid painting his skin with evidence of his forbidden desires. Your name falls from his lips like a prayer, each syllable punctuated by another forceful stroke as his hand continues to move, milking every last drop.
Panting heavily, he slumps against the door, his heart pounding in his chest while his spent cock twitches with residual pleasure. As he slowly comes back to reality, he realizes what he's done.
This wasn't supposed to happenâhe was meant to tease you, not end up teasing himself. But there was no denying the effect you had on him anymore.
Fuck.
What the fuck is he thinking? This canât happen again.
He needs to take another shower.
êšïž
Stepping out of the shower, you wrap a fluffy towel around your body as the warm steam curls around you. You begin to head back to your room, but the moment you open the bathroom door, you are caught off guard, immediately met by one of the house staff, holding out a freshly laundered robe.
âGood morning, maâam. Your robe.â
âThank you,â you hesitate slightly, trying to offer a polite smile.
Taking the robe, you begin to make your way to the walk-in closet, yet another staff member is waiting with a selection of outfits.
"I've picked out a few choices for today's events, Mrs. Gojo."
You take a deep breath, "Thanks, I'll take a look."
Itâs barely morning and you already have staff at your beck and callâsure, they mean well, but itâs suffocating. Youâre not one for a lot of attention.
As the staff member steps aside, you examine the array of outfits.
Your eyes scan the elegant dresses, tailored suits, and chic ensembles neatly arranged on hangers. Itâs not quite as elegant as the gala, but itâs clear that Satoru must have something important planned for the day. Each outfit exudes sophistication and class, far more extravagant than your usual attire.
As you run your fingers over the fabric of a particularly stunning dress, a ball of nerves settles within you. The thrill of wondering what Satoru has in store is both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. You select the dress, hoping it aligns with whatever he has planned.
After slipping into the elegant dress, you make your way to your vanity. But just as your fingers curl around the handle of your hairbrush, a maid materializes at your side, yet again.
"Good morning, ma'am. Can I assist you with your hair today?"
Is a moment to yourself too much to ask?
Your headache from last nightâs wine lingers, and the incessant stream of people is beginning to fray your nervesâitâs really too much.
Offering another polite smile, you try to mask the mild irritation simmering beneath.
"No, thank you. I can manage.â
The maid nods and steps back, only for another staff member to glide in right behind her, almost as if choreographed.
This one carries a gleaming silver tray adorned with an array of high-end skincare products, each bottle and jar meticulously arranged, their labels promising luxury and perfection.
"Your skincare routine, ma'am."
You close your eyes momentarily, trying to remain patient, your voice as calm as you can manage.
"I appreciate it, really, but I have my own products."
The staff member hesitates, her expression a mix of confusion and professionalism.
"Of course, ma'am," she replies, inclining her head respectfully before retreating.
As the door closes behind her, you release a long, weary sigh. The constant attention is smothering, and you long for the simplicity of your old life.
Those quiet mornings, the sweet solitary moments where you could just⊠be â without the pressure of performing or living up to impossible standards.
But like it or not, this is your reality now. Guess youâll just need to find a way to navigate it without losing yourself in the process.
êšïž
By the time you make it downstairs, Haru is already seated at the elegant dining table, her small hands fiddling with her silverware. Satoru sits at the head of the table, reading through some documents.
The table is laden with a lavish breakfast spreadâperfectly arranged fruits, pastries, and an assortment of gourmet dishes. The scent threatens to overwhelm you as the lingering effects of last nightâs indulgence in wine and champagne churn in your stomach.
"Good morning," Satoru says, glancing up with a grin, looking annoyingly refreshed.
Rubbing the temple of your head, you attempt a tired smile.
âMorning.â
Satoru watches you with amusement as you slide into your seat. The rich aroma of the elaborate breakfast instantly greets your nostrils, prompting a groan to escape your lips. Â
"How are you feeling?" he quirks a brow.
"Like I drank half the wine cellar," you grimace.
Satoru leans back in his chair, his grin widening, and Haru giggles, watching you with wide curious eyes as you bury your face in your hands.
âMama sleepy,â she declares with the wisdom of a two-year-old.
âYes, HaruâŠMama is very sleepy,â you mutter, peaking at her through your fingers. Despite the hangover, that innocent laugh brings a small smile to your face.
Satoru chuckles, setting his documents aside as he reaches for his mug.
"You shouldâve stuck to the champagne, lightweight," he teases, bringing his coffee up to his lips.
You shoot him a half-hearted glare.
"Not helping."
A chef sets down a plate of perfectly arranged eggs benedict directly in front of you with a flourish, each element meticulously placed. The aroma wafts up and you instinctively push the plate away.
"Actually, do you have any toast? With jelly?" your voice tinged with a mix of disgust and desperation.
The chef looks momentarily puzzled, a slight furrow forming on his brow, but he nods politely.
"Of course, ma'am."
You abruptly get up, deciding to find it yourself. Making your way to the nearby pantry, you move with purpose as you begin rummaging through the neatly organized shelves. You feel Satoruâs amused gaze following your every move. Turning, you see him leaning back in his chair, a bemused smile playing on his lips as he watches you with evident curiosity.
âYou're like a college student after a party. All this gourmet food and you want toast?"
Your fingers brush past jars of exotic spices and imported oils until you finally find what youâre looking forâa simple loaf of bread and a jar of ruby-red jelly. The familiar, comforting sight of them brings a small, satisfied smile to your lips. You turn to Satoru, holding up the items triumphantly.
âI just want something simple.â
As you set the bread and jelly down on the counter, Haru, perched nearby with wide and curious eyes, giggles at the sight.
"Mama wants toast!" she announces gleefully, her little voice echoing through the kitchen like a bell.
A grin curls up your lips as you unclasp the bread bag.
"Yes, mama wants toast," you say, popping a slice into the toaster. Leaning casually against the marble countertop, you shift your gaze to Satoru. âAnyways Mr. Gourmet, whatâs the plan for today?â
Satoru leans back, his eyes narrowing playfully as he studies you.
"Well, I was thinking we could go over some things regarding Gojo Corporation. There are a few upcoming projects Iâve been meaning to discuss with you and Iâd like your insight."
You arch an eyebrow, mildly caught off guard by the suggestion.
"Really? You usually handle all that on your own."
He nods, the movement slow and deliberate.
"True," he concedes, "but as my wife, I think itâs time you start coming back to the office with me. I want you to be more involved, and itâs important for everyone to see us working together as a team."
Your eyes widen in surprise.
"You want me to be more involved? Iâm just a secretary."
Satoru shrugs with a casual air, but thereâs a determined edge to his voice that tells you heâs thought this through.
"Iâve taken on a lot more responsibilities lately, and I could use your help. Besides, your insights have always been valuable to me.â
You open your mouth to respond, but the sudden pop of the toaster pulls your attention away. Â Turning your focus to the toast, you carefully spread jelly across the warm slice, but the task does little to settle the fluttering sensation in your chest.
This is a big ask.
You've always been behind the scenes, a secretary who knew the inner workings but never sat at the table where decisions were made. And now, here he is, trusting you with responsibilities that feel like they belong to someone elseâsomeone more experienced, more confident.
Itâs strange, surreal even, that Satoru would entrust you with such a significant role. Even if this is just a charade, this role requires more than just understanding the business. It requires being a partner in the truest sense.
âSoâŠyouâre serious about this? Gojo Corporation, weâre doing this together now?â you ask, returning to your seat, your voice carrying a hint of uncertainty as you search his eyes for reassurance.
Satoru nods.
âAbsolutely. I think itâs time we show everyone what a true power couple looks like,â he replies, punctuating his words with a wink.
Leaning forward, he rests his chin in the cradle of his hand as he props his elbow casually on the table. His gaze locks onto yours, a glint of something more behind his deep blue eyes.
âBesides,â he continues, his voice softening slightly, âthe office just isnât the same without you.â
You take a slow bite of your toast, savoring the buttery warmth as it spreads across your tongue, but itâs nothing compared to the unexpected warmth blossoming in your chest at his words.
âYeah, right,â you murmur, âYou just want to make me do all the paperwork."
His grin broadens, the corners of his mouth lifting into that familiar, dangerously charming smile that always seems to disarm you.
"Guilty as charged."
Haru reaches out eagerly, her tiny fingers wiggling with impatience.
âToast!â she demands with all the confidence and adorable assertiveness of a two-year-old.
You tear off a small piece and place it into her eagerly awaiting hand. She takes it with a giggle, her eyes lighting up as she munches happily.
As you lift your toast back up to your lips, you catch Satoruâs gaze lingering on you. There is a subtle shift in his expressionâa depth of emotion, a certain tenderness that makes you wonder what he could be thinking.
"What?" you ask, a hint of defensiveness creeping into your tone, though youâre not entirely sure why.
He doesnât respond immediately, letting the silence stretch as a grin tugs at the corners of his lips. Thereâs a mischievous glint in his eyes as he finally speaks.
"Nothing," he eventually says with a playful yet genuine edge. âItâs just... interesting to see you choose something so ordinary.â
âSometimes less is more.â you counter, a hint of challenge in your voice. âBesides, not everyone grew up with chefs and staff at their beck and call. Itâs a bit much sometimes.â
Satoru leans back in his chair, the smirk widening as he crosses his arms over his chest.
âOh? Are you saying my lifestyle is too much for you?â
You gesture broadly around the lavish room.
"Look at all this,â you exclaim, your voice tinged with a mix of awe and exasperation. âThe staff, the gourmet meals, the constant attention. It's like I'm living in a palace. I can't breathe without someone trying to do something for me, and I canât even cook for Haru without feeling like I'm stepping on someone's toes."
The words spill out before you can catch them, each one landing with a weight you hadnât fully anticipated. Thereâs an undercurrent of something deeper in your tone, a tension that has been simmering just below the surfaceâan unease that youâve been trying to push aside, but now, in this moment, it bubbles over, impossible to ignore.
Satoruâs gaze sharpens and he arches an eyebrow as he catches the subtle shift in your demeanor.
"You miss cooking?" his voice softening with genuine interest.
âYeah, I do,â you confess, your voice tinged with a mix of longing and resignation. âItâs one of the few things that makes me feel grounded, like Iâm in control of something. Plus, Haru loves my cooking.â
He regards you with an intensity that catches you off guard.
âI didnât realize you felt that way. You know⊠youâre welcome to cook whenever you want. This is your home too, after all.â
Thereâs a brief pause as he seems to mull something over, his eyes distant before snapping back to yours with a newfound determination. He leans forward slightly, his eyes locked onto yours.
âHow about thisâyou cook dinner tonight? Iâll tell the chef to take the night off.â
You blink, momentarily taken aback by the offer.
âYouâd really do that?â
"Why not?" he says with a shrug. "This is your home now, for the next year at least. Besides, itâll be nice to see you in your element, and Iâm curious to taste your cooking."
A spark of excitement flickers within you at the idea, the thought of returning to something familiar and comforting lifting your spirits.
âAlright then,â you agree, a playful challenge in your tone. âBut donât complain if it doesnât meet your gourmet standards.â
âIâm sure it will be perfect,â he responds, his voice filled with a quiet confidence that sends a ripple of anticipation through you.
He leans in closer, his elbow resting on the table as he tilts his head, his intense gaze locking onto yours. The proximity makes your heart skip a beat, the air between you charged with an unspoken connection.
âIâm looking forward to it,â he adds, his voice low, almost a whisper, as if sharing a secret meant only for you.
You hold his gaze, trying to maintain your composure, though you can feel a flutter in your chest.
âJust promise me you wonât hover in the kitchen,â you quip, lifting an eyebrow as you lean back slightly, creating a bit of space to steady your racing heart.
Satoruâs grin only widens, a playful glint sparkling in his eyes as he mirrors your movement, leaning back as well.
âNo promises. I might want to learn a thing or two."
You cross your arms, challenging him with a smirk and a pointed look.
âYou? Help out in the kitchen?â
The disbelief in your voice is clear, though a small smile tugs at your lips. The idea of him, the polished and ever-confident Satoru, navigating the chaos of a kitchen is almost too absurd to imagine.
He laughs, a rich sound that fills the room, raising his hands in mock surrender.
âHey, I can follow directions,â he protests, his grin broadening. âJust tell me what to do.â
You roll your eyes playfully, shaking your head in mock exasperation.
âWeâll see about that,â you quip, though thereâs a part of you thatâs curiousâmaybe even hopefulâthat he might actually surprise you.
Before you can say more, Haru claps her hands together excitedly, her eyes sparkling with delight.
âMama cooking! Yay!â she exclaims, bouncing in her highchair.
You laugh softly, ruffling her hair with affection.
âYes, mamaâs cooking tonight,â you confirm, the warmth in your voice mirroring the smile on your face.
Satoru watches the exchange with a softening gaze, a rare moment of quiet sincerity passing over his features. But then, with a stretch that seems to shake off the sentiment, he stands up, rolling his shoulders back.
âIn the meantime,â he says, tone shifting back to business, âwe should probably get ready to head to the office. Thereâs a lot we need to cover.â

As the car pulls up to the grand entrance of Gojo Corporation, you take a deep breath, trying to steady the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside you.
It feels as though an eternity has passed since you last walked through those imposing doors, yet as you gaze up at the sleek, formidable building, a wave of familiarity washes over you, making it seem as if nothing has changed.
The towering glass structure looms above, its mirrored surface catching the early morning sun and casting a dazzling array of shimmering light that dances across the pavement. The reflections create an almost ethereal glow around the building.
As the sleek glass doors of Gojo Corporation glide open with a quiet whoosh, you and Satoru step through together, hand in hand.
The lobby unfolds before you, just as you rememberedâspacious, modern, and a testament to impeccable design.
Polished marble floors stretch out beneath your feet, gleaming like a mirror under the bright, strategically placed lights. The air is filled with a soft, steady hum of conversation, punctuated by the occasional click of heels against the floor.
Familiar faces turn towards you, their polite smiles masking the flickers of curiosity and speculation that dance in their eyes. You can feel the weight of their gazes, each glance a blend of respect tinged with a subtle undercurrent of skepticism.
The whispers are almost tangible, a low murmur that follows you as you move further into the lobby, their eyes tracking your every step.
Your hand instinctively tightens around Satoruâs, seeking reassurance in his steady presence. Satoruâs grip is firm yet comforting, his thumb brushing gently against the back of your hand in a silent gesture of support.
He leads you further into the lobby, his posture exuding confidence and ease, as if heâs entirely unbothered by the attention.
Each of your footsteps against the polished floor brings a flood of memories to you. Thereâs a palpable sense of nostalgia, a bittersweet longing for the simplicity and familiarity of your old workspace.
But everything has changed, hasnât it?
Now, youâre his wifeâat least, thatâs the role you must play.
The weight of that title hangs heavy on your shoulders, transforming the once-familiar surroundings into a stage where every glance, every whisper carries a different meaning.
And Satoruâhe has changed too.
The carefree son of the CEO you once knew has evolved into a leader in his own right. The transformation is subtle yet profound, etched in the way he carries himself, the way he interacts with the staff, and the way he commands respect without demanding it.
You can see the weight of responsibility resting on his shoulders, a mantle he has taken up with a quiet determination.
As you approach the elevators, Satoruâs hand slips from yours, the warmth of his touch lingering on your skin as he reaches out to press the button.
The elevator doors slide open with a quiet, mechanical whisper, revealing the sleek, mirrored interior. You both step inside, the soft hum of the elevator filling the space with a steady, soothing rhythm.
Satoru glances at you, his eyes catching the soft light reflecting off the polished walls. Thereâs a small, reassuring smile on his lips, one that carries a hint of warmth and something deeperâperhaps a silent promise that everything will be alright.
âSo,â he begins, his voice casual, though you can sense the underlying focus in his tone, âtoday we have a meeting regarding a potential corporate merger with Mei-Mei's company.â
âMei-Mei⊠I remember her,â you say, your brow furrowing slightly as you search your memory. âIsn't she from that high-end tech company?â
Satoru nods and leans casually against the elevator wall, his posture relaxed but his mind clearly working.
âThatâs right,â he confirms, his voice steady and assured. âSheâs quite influential in her field, a key player in the tech industry. This merger could be a significant step for us, opening doors to new technologies and markets.â
As his words sink in, you feel a knot of anxiety tighten in your stomach. You swallow hard, trying to push down the unease thatâs bubbling up inside you.
âAlright. Whatâs our approach for the meeting?â
Satoruâs eyes meet yours, his gaze steady and reassuring. Thereâs a quiet confidence in his expression, a belief in your abilities that helps to steady your nerves.
âWeâll present our strengths,â he explains. âWeâll show them what we can bring to the table, the value we offer. Your insights will be invaluable, so donât hesitate to speak up. Just be yourself. Thatâs more than enough.â
You nod, drawing in a deep breath to calm the flutter of nerves in your chest.
âGot it,â you reply, your voice more resolute now, bolstered by his confidence in you.
The elevator dings softly, and the doors glide open to reveal the executive floor, a space imbued with quiet power and understated elegance.
Satoru walks ahead, his stride confident and purposeful, and you follow closely, drawing strength from his unwavering presence.
As you enter the conference room, your eyes immediately land on Mei-Mei, already seated at the expansive table. Sheâs impeccably dressed, exuding an air of effortless elegance and control.
The moment she spots Satoru, her eyes light up with a warmth that feels just a bit too personal. A slow, sultry smile spreads across her lips as she rises gracefully from her chair.
âSatoru, darling,â she purrs, her voice smooth and honeyed as she glides toward him with the confidence of someone who knows exactly what she wants. âItâs been far too long.â
Seeing her in person brings a rush of memories, sharp and unbiddenâthe sound of her voice, the way she says his name...
Mei-Mei isnât just any business associateâ sheâs the woman who was once poised to step into the very role you now occupy.
Satoruâs father had been persistent he consider her for marriage, a match that had been pushed on him relentlessly.
The realization sharpens your senses, and as Mei-Mei continues to hold Satoruâs gaze with practiced ease, you steel yourself, determined not to let old rivalries or lingering doubts shake your confidence.
Satoru smiles politely, his expression composed and unreadable as he extends a hand to her.
âMei-Mei,â he greets her, his tone smooth and diplomatic. âAlways a pleasure.â
Mei-Meiâs eyes flicker with satisfaction as she accepts his hand, her touch light and fleeting, like a whisper of silk.
Her gaze shifts to you as she releases his hand, a spark of curiosity mingling with something more calculated behind her eyes.
âAnd who might this be?â she inquires, her voice carrying a subtle edge, as if sheâs already assessing your worth.
âThis is my wife, y/nâ Satoru says smoothly, his hand finding yours. âSheâll be joining us for the meeting.â
Mei-Meiâs smile curves at the edges, but it doesnât quite reach her eyes, which narrow slightly as she studies you more closely.
âOf course,â she says, her tone dripping with courtesy that feels just a shade too polished. âItâs lovely to meet you.â
She pauses, her gaze sharpening with a hint of challenge.
âI must say, I havenât heard of you before. What family do you come from?â
A twinge of discomfort ripples through you, a reminder of the stark difference in backgrounds. You swallow slightly, trying to keep your voice steady.
âI... I donât come from a well-known family,â you admit, the words feeling heavier than they should. âIâve worked with Satoru at Gojo Corporation for the past year.â
Mei-Meiâs smile shifts, the corners of her lips lifting just a fraction, but thereâs a condescending glint in her eyes now.
âOh, I see,â she replies, her voice laced with a faint, dismissive amusement. âHow quaint.â
You force a smile, though it feels tight on your lips, refusing to let her patronizing attitude get under your skin.
As you move to take your seat at the table, you watch as she leans in closer to Satoru, her fingers grazing his arm in a gesture that seems almost too casual, too familiar.
âI must say, Satoru,â Mei-Mei purrs, her voice smooth and saccharine, like honey with a hint of venom, âyouâve been doing an impressive job with the company. Your father would be proud.â
Satoru nods, keeping his tone professional.
âThank you, Mei-Mei. Weâve made some significant strides, and Iâm optimistic about the potential this merger holds for both of our companies.â
âOf course, Satoru. Iâm sure we can work out something that benefits both parties. After all,â she adds, her gaze lingering on him with a knowing smile, âweâve always made a great team, havenât we?â
Determined to assert your own presence, you clear your throat softly and lean forward, your gaze steady and unyielding.
âIâm looking forward to seeing how our strengths can complement each other,â you interject smoothly. âThereâs a lot we can achieve together.â
Mei-Meiâs eyes flicker to you. She offers a tight smile, the warmth in her expression barely masking the sharpness beneath.
âIndeed,â she concedes, her tone now laced with a hint of challenge. âLetâs make this a success, shall we?â
The meeting begins, and you do your best to focus on the discussion, but Mei-Meiâs constant flirtation with Satoru gnaws at your nerves like a persistent thorn.
You can feel the tension building within you, your hands clenched tightly in your lap as you force yourself to remain composed, every muscle in your body taut with restraint.
Mei-Mei finds every opportunity to brush her fingers against Satoruâs arm, her touch lingering just a second too long. Her laughter rings out, a bit too loud and a touch too sweet, echoing off the walls of the conference room.
Every compliment she directs at Satoru is overly effusive, dripping with a familiarity that sets your teeth on edge.
Satoru, to his credit, remains the picture of professionalism.
His responses are polite but distant, a carefully maintained detachment that you admire even as it does little to quell the irritation bubbling inside you. Heâs skilled at sidestepping her advances with an almost practiced ease, deflecting her attempts to draw him into her web of flirtation.
But despite his composed demeanor, each of Mei-Meiâs calculated gestures feels like a testâa deliberate provocation meant to unsettle you, to remind you of the history that lingers between them.
The subtle, unspoken challenge in her eyes whenever she glances your way only fuels the fire simmering within you.
âSo, Satoru,â Mei-Mei says, leaning closer to him, âabout the merger terms, I believe we should consider revising the profit-sharing ratio. It would be beneficial for both parties.â
Her tone is persuasive, almost coaxing, as she tilts her head slightly, letting her hair fall in a way that draws attention to the graceful curve of her neck.
But before Satoru can respond, you lean forward, your voice calm yet firm, cutting through the tension like a blade.
âActually, if you look at the numbers, the current ratio is fair and balanced, ensuring both companies benefit equally from this partnership.â
For a split second, annoyance flashes in Mei-Meiâs eyes, a subtle tightening at the corners of her mouth betraying her irritation. But she quickly masks it with a polished smile, her expression smoothing over as if the moment of discord never happened.
âI see,â she replies, her voice still honeyed but with a slight edge. âWell, perhaps we can discuss this further in detail later.â
Satoru, ever the diplomat, nods in agreement, his tone steady and measured.
âWe can certainly revisit that point,â he says, his gaze shifting between you and Mei-Mei, acknowledging both perspectives. âBut for now, letâs proceed with the agenda.â
As the conversation continues, Mei-Meiâs relentless flirtations with Satoru are becoming more and more unbearable.
Each coy glance she throws Satoruâs way chips away at your composure, and you find it harder and harder to maintain the calm facade youâve been desperately clinging to.
Just when you think you canât endure it any longer, Satoru glances at his watch and suggests,
âLetâs take a short break. Weâll reconvene in fifteen minutes.â
The words are like a lifeline tossed to a drowning person.
âIâll be back in a bit,â you mutter, barely managing to keep the tremor out of your voice as you slip out of the room.
The moment youâre out of sight, you quicken your pace, your footsteps echoing in the hallway as you make a beeline for the supply room. The small, confined space offers a momentary refuge from the oppressive atmosphere of the conference room.
As you close the door behind you, the faint scent of paper and office supplies envelops you, oddly comforting in its familiarity, like a reminder of simpler times.
You start to rummage through the supplies, your hands moving automatically as you try to distract yourself from the image of Mei-Meiâs hands brushing against Satoruâs arm, her laughter echoing in your ears.
The memory plays on a loop in your mind, fueling the frustration that bubbles just beneath the surface.
You grab a few itemsâa stack of sticky notes, a box of paperclipsâand begin organizing them on the shelf, your movements precise, almost mechanical.
Moments later, the door creaks open, and you look up to see Satoru standing in the doorway, a nostalgic smile on his face.
âDoesnât look like youâre taking much of a break.â
âI guess old habits die hard,â your voice clipped, betraying the frustration simmering just beneath the surface.
âSeeing you in here brings back memories,â he continues, stepping further into the room, his gaze sweeping over the shelves as if he, too, is remembering the countless times youâd both found yourselves in this very spot, buried in work and conversation.
The familiarity of it should be comforting, but today, it only amplifies the growing disarray you feel inside. You huff, shaking your head in exasperation.
âSince Iâve been gone, itâs obvious someone isnât doing the supply order right,â you gesture sharply to the cluttered shelves. âEverythingâs out of place.â
He chuckles softly, closing the distance between you with a few steps.
âYou always were meticulous about these things. Guess no one can do it quite like you.â
Letting out a frustrated sigh, you turn back to the shelves.
âThis whole day has been a mess,â you mutter, more to yourself than to him, the words escaping in a rush of pent-up emotion.
Each item you straighten feels like an attempt to impose order on something far more chaotic than these shelvesâa futile effort to regain control in a situation that seems increasingly out of your grasp.
Satoru raises an eyebrow, leaning casually against a shelf, his posture relaxed but his eyes attentive.
âReally? I thought things were going well,â he remarks, a hint of confusion in his voice.
You turn to face him, your frustration bubbling over, no longer containable.
âWell, theyâre not,â you snap, the sharpness in your voice surprising even yourself. âThis merger? Itâs a terrible idea. Itâs obvious Mei-Mei is just trying to squeeze as much revenue out of this deal as possible, and youâre letting her.â
Satoruâs teasing expression falters, replaced by one of seriousness. He uncrosses his arms, his posture shifting as he takes a step closer, his gaze locking onto yours with an intensity that wasnât there before.
âWhat makes you say that?â
You cross your arms defensively, glaring at him.
âThe terms sheâs proposing are ridiculous. Sheâs pushing for more than her company deserves.â
âWhy didnât you say something during the meeting?â he counters, his eyes narrowing slightly in confusion.
You throw your hands up in exasperation, your emotions spilling over.
âHow could I?â you quip, the words escaping in a rush. âMei-Mei was too busy batting her eyelashes and finding any excuse to touch you. Every time I tried to speak, sheâd cut me off or distract you with some flirtatious nonsense.â
Satoruâs eyebrow arches, and for a moment, a smirk tugs at the corners of his mouth, a glimmer of amusement in his eyes.
âAre you jealous?â
Your cheeks flush involuntarily, and you turn back to the shelves, grabbing a stack of papers and slamming them down with more force than necessary.
âOf course not,â you retort, your voice tinged with frustration. âItâs just... unprofessional.â
He doesnât back down, the smirk still playing on his lips as he steps closer, closing the distance between you until heâs right in front of you.
âYouâre cute when youâre jealous, you know that?â he murmurs, his tone playful, almost affectionate.
Thatâs the last straw.
Your patience, already worn thin, finally snaps.
âYou know what? It's hard enough trying to fit into this world without someone like her treating me like I donât belong!â
You shove the papers aside, the sound of them scattering across the table punctuating your words, and start to walk past him, needing to escape the confined space.
Satoruâs smirk vanishes as he realizes the depth of your frustration. He grabs your wrist, stopping you in your tracks, and pulls you back to him. His grip is firm but gentle, his eyes searching yours for understanding.
âHey,â he says softly, his voice sincere. âI didnât realize how much this was bothering you.â
You look up at him, your vision blurring slightly as tears threaten to spill over. The vulnerability youâve been trying to hold back finally breaks through, and the words tumble out before you can stop them.
âItâs just... itâs not easy being here, Satoru,â you confess, your voice trembling with the weight of your emotions. âI feel out of place, like I donât belong and Iâm constantly being judged. Itâs like everyoneâs waiting for me to fail.â
He tilts his head slightly, his gaze softening as he studies your face, reading the depth of your distress.
âThis isnât just about Mei-Mei, is it?â he asks gently. âDoes this have anything to do with that guy at the gala last night? The one that was overly familiar with you at the bar?â
You blink in surprise, taken aback by his perceptiveness.
âWhat? No, this is different,â you stammer, caught off guard by the sudden shift in the conversation.
âIs it?â he presses gently, his thumb tracing soothing circles on your back of your hand. âBecause I saw how he looked at you. And how uncomfortable you seemed.â
You shake your head, a mixture of frustration and exasperation bubbling to the surface.
âNaoya was just being his usual self, trying to provoke me,â you say dismissively.
âNaoya, huh?â Satoruâs voice hardens slightly, his expression darkening at the mention of the name. âHe didnât just try to provoke you. He was trying to undermine you in front of everyone. Who is that guy to you?â
The intensity in his gaze makes your heart skip a beat, and you can see that Satoru isnât just curiousâheâs genuinely concerned, and more than a little angry.
The protective edge in his voice tells you that heâs not going to let this go easily, and you realize that heâs picking up on more than youâd like to admit.
You take a deep breath, trying to steady yourself as you weigh your words carefully.
âHeâs... heâs Haruâs father,â you finally admit, the words leaving your lips in a hesitant whisper.
Satoruâs eyes widen in shock, the sudden revelation hitting him like a physical blow.
âWhat? Haruâs father? Why didnât you tell me?â Thereâs a sharpness in his tone now, not out of anger, but out of the raw emotion of being blindsided by something so significant.
You drop your gaze, unable to meet his eyes, the weight of your past suddenly feeling like too much to bear.
âI didnât want to burden you with my past,â you say quietly, your voice thick with regret.
For a moment, thereâs silence, thick and heavy between you, and you can feel the tension radiating off him.
But then, gently, he lifts your chin with his fingers, forcing you to meet his gaze. His touch is tender, his expression softening as he looks into your eyes, searching for the truth in them.
âYouâre not a burden,â he says firmly, his voice steady, leaving no room for doubt. âAnd Haru is part of your life. That means sheâs part of mine now too.â
You hesitate, the weight of his words settling over you as you struggle to find the right response.
âSatoru, I... I just didnât know how to bring it up,â you admit, your voice trembling slightly with the vulnerability of the confession. âI didnât want to complicate things. Itâs just⊠I feel like Iâm constantly being tested, like I have to prove myself over and over again.â
The words spill out in a rush, the pent-up emotions youâve been holding back finally breaking free.
He sighs softly, his expression softening as he reaches out, his fingers brushing a loose strand of hair away from your face with a tenderness that makes your heart ache.
âYou donât have to explain yourself to me,â he says, his voice gentle, but thereâs an underlying seriousness in his tone. âBut we canât have any more secrets between us during this arrangement. If weâre going to make this work, we need to be honest with each other.â
The sincerity in his eyes, the warmth in his touchâit all combines to create a sense of safety, a reassurance that youâre not alone in this, even if this is just a charade, itâs the comfort you desperately need.
Tears well up in your eyes again, threatening to spill out as your emotions overwhelm you. You nod, swallowing hard to keep your voice steady.
âI understand,â you whisper, âno more secrets.â
Without a word, Satoru pulls you into a gentle embrace, his arms encircling you with a tenderness that takes you by surprise.
He holds you close, his presence a steady anchor in the storm of emotions swirling inside you.
âGood,â he murmurs, his voice soft but firm against your ear. âYou do belong, y/n. And Iâm not going to let anyoneâMei-Mei, Naoya, or anyone elseâmake you feel otherwise.â
As he speaks, his arms tighten around you, pulling you closer, and for a moment, you simply melt into his embrace, letting the warmth and security he provides wash over you.
Your heart races as his hand slowly moves up, fingers gently threading through your hair, his touch so tender it makes your breath hitch. You can feel the steady rise and fall of his chest, his breath warm against your ear, grounding you in this shared moment of vulnerability.
But then, you pull back slightly, looking up at him, and itâs only then that you truly realize how close you are.
Your faces are mere inches apart, and the intensity in his gaze is almost overwhelming, drawing your attention to the way his eyes flicker down to your lips.
Your breath catches in your throat, your pulse quickening as you feel the magnetic pull between you, the tension thick in the air.
Slowly, almost hesitantly, he leans in, his lips hovering just a breath away from yours.
Your eyes flutter shut, anticipation building as his lips draw nearer.
But just before they brush against yours, a sliver of doubt crosses your mindâthe reality of the situation, reminding you of where you are, and what you are to each other.
You pull back slightly, your voice barely a whisper.
âWe should probably head back to the meeting.â
Though you say the words, your voice lacks conviction, betraying your true feelings.
Satoruâs eyes search yours for a moment longer, his forehead resting gently against yours as he takes a deep breath, the sound filled with a mix of reluctance and understanding.
He slowly pulls back, his hand lingering on your cheek, his thumb brushing your skin with a tenderness that makes your heart ache.
âYeah, we should,â he agrees softly, though his tone carries the weight of unspoken emotions.
His hand slips from your cheek, the absence of his touch leaving you feeling a bit colder.
âLetâs get back to it.â
êšïž
As you re-enter the conference room, Mei-Mei is already seated, her perfectly manicured nails tapping impatiently on the table.
She looks up as you and Satoru take your seats, a sly, knowing smile playing on her lips.
âAh, there you are,â she says, her tone dripping with faux sweetness, the honeyed edge barely masking the underlying condescension. âShall we continue?â
Satoru clears his throat, his expression carefully neutral as he regains his composure. Thereâs a subtle shift in his demeanor, a steely resolve that wasnât there before.
âRight, letâs continue where we left off.â
Mei-Meiâs smile deepens, saccharine sweet and just as poisonous, as she resumes her position with an air of unshakable confidence.
She leans forward slightly, her fingers stilling as she clasps her hands together, a picture of poised professionalism.
âOf course,â she purrs. âNow, as I was saying, the merger terms weâre proposing are quite favorable, especially considering the current market conditions. Iâm confident that with a little cooperation, we can reach a mutually beneficial agreement. Perhaps we can revisit the profit-sharing ratio?â
Her words are delivered with the precision of someone whoâs used to getting her way, but you can feel the subtle shift in her gaze as it flickers toward you, her eyes cold and calculating.
You glance at Satoru, seeking the silent reassurance that only he can offer in this moment.
He meets your gaze and gives you a subtle nod, the unspoken signal youâve been waiting for. Your heart pounds in your chest, the adrenaline surging as you realize that this is your moment.
Itâs now or never.
Summoning every ounce of courage within you, you rise from your seat, your voice steady and clear as it cuts through the tension in the room.
âActually, weâve reconsidered,â you begin, each word carefully measured. âAfter reviewing the terms, weâve decided that moving forward with this merger is not in the best interest of Gojo Corporation.â
Mei-Meiâs eyes widen in surprise, her carefully crafted facade slipping for just a fraction of a second. The shock in her expression is almost imperceptible, but you catch it, the brief crack in her confidence before she quickly regains her composure.
âExcuse me?â she demands, her voice sharp with incredulity. âAre you saying youâre rejecting our proposal?â
You meet her gaze unflinchingly, standing firm with a resolve that surprises even you.
âYes, thatâs exactly what Iâm saying,â you reply, your voice steady and unyielding. âThe terms youâre proposing are not equitable, and itâs clear that your company stands to gain disproportionately from this deal. Weâre not interested in a partnership that doesnât offer balanced benefits.â
Mei-Meiâs smile tightens, the corners of her lips pulling into a strained curve as she processes your words. Her composure is slipping, the veneer of control cracking as she realizes sheâs losing her grip on the situation.
Desperation flickers in her eyes as she glances toward Satoru, clearly hoping to find an ally in him.
âSatoru,â her tone laced with forced sweetness, âsurely we can discuss this furtherââ
âI trust my wifeâs judgment completely,â Satoru leans back in his chair with a calm confidence, a proud smile playing on his lips as he watches you take control of the situation. âIf she says the deal isnât right for us, then we wonât proceed.â
The finality in his tone leaves no room for negotiation and the impact of his words is immediate.
Mei-Meiâs expression falters, the last traces of her confident facade slipping away as frustration and disbelief flicker in her eyes. She forces a tight smile, nodding curtly, her eyes hardening.
âI see. Well, itâs your loss. Our offer was quite generous.â
You hold her gaze, unflinching.
âWeâll find another opportunity that aligns better with our goals. Thank you for your time.â
Mei-Meiâs eyes narrow slightly, but she says nothing more. Instead, she gathers her things with an icy precision, each movement deliberate as she rises from her seat.
The tension in the room is palpable as she turns on her heel and strides toward the door, her demeanor frosty, the sting of defeat evident in her rigid posture. The door closes behind her with a soft click, the sound echoing in the suddenly quiet room.
You let out a breath you didnât realize you were holding, the tension slowly melting away as a surge of relief and empowerment floods through you.
The adrenaline rush of standing your ground leaves you feeling both exhilarated and slightly shaky, but thereâs also a newfound confidence simmering beneath the surfaceâa realization that youâre more than capable of handling whatever comes your way.
Satoru turns to you, his smile widening with pride as he meets your gaze.
âYou handled that perfectly,â the warmth in his voice is like a reassuring embrace.
You return his smile, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over you.
âThanks. I guess I just needed to find my voice.â
And find it you did.

As the sun begins to set, it casts a warm, golden glow through the expansive windows of the Gojo residence kitchen.
The light dances across the sleek, modern space, highlighting the clean lines of stainless-steel appliances and the smooth, cool surface of marble countertops.
You stand at the kitchen island, surrounded by a colorful array of ingredientsâvibrant tomatoes, fragrant basil, and glistening cuts of meat, each carefully selected for the eveningâs meal.
Satoru walks in, rolling up his sleeves with a playful grin lighting up his face.
âSo, Chef,â he says with a teasing lilt in his voice, leaning casually against the counter as he takes in the scene before him. His blue eyes sparkle with excitement, âWhatâs on the menu tonight?â
You glance up from the cutting board, catching his gaze.
Thereâs a lightness in his demeanor, a boyish enthusiasm that makes you smile in return. The way he looks at youâlike youâre the most interesting part of his dayâsends a flutter of warmth through your chest.
âNothing fancy. Just some homemade pasta and a simple salad. I hope thatâs okay with you, Mr. Gourmet.â
âSounds perfect,â he grins, moving to your side, ready to help. âWhat can I do?â
You hand him a cutting board and a knife, pointing to a colorful pile of vegetables waiting to be prepped.
âYou can start by chopping these for the salad.â
He takes the knife, looking at it a bit awkwardly and glances at you with a sheepish grin.
âAlright, letâs see if I remember how to do this without losing a finger.â
You canât help but watch with amusement as he makes a few tentative cuts, each slice uneven and clumsy. Itâs clear heâs out of practiceâor perhaps he never had much to begin with.
The sight of him, usually so confident, struggling with something so simple brings a smile to your face.
âHere, let me show you,â you say, moving to stand beside him.
Sliding closer, you place your hand over his on the knife handle, your touch gentle yet firm.
âYou want to keep your fingers tucked in like this,â you instruct, demonstrating with your own hand, ensuring his fingers are safely out of the knifeâs path. âAnd use a rocking motion with the knife, letting the blade do the work.â
You move his hand with yours, the rhythm of the knife creating a soothing pattern.
Satoru watches you intently, the proximity making your heart race. The warmth of his hand beneath yours sends a shiver up your spine.
As you continue to guide him, your hands move together in sync, and you canât help but notice the way his focus shifts from the vegetables to you, his blue eyes flickering with something deeper than just concentration.
âGot it,â he murmurs softly.
You continue to guide his hand, feeling the rhythm of the chopping become smoother.
âLike this?â
âExactly,â you reply, meeting his gaze, your heart fluttering at the intensity in his eyes. âSee? Itâs not so hard once you get the hang of it.â
He chuckles, and his eyes remain locked on yours, a playful spark mingling with the more serious undercurrent in his expression.
âNot hard at all, especially with such a good teacher.â
The moment lingers, the air between you charged with a newfound intimacy. Reluctantly, you step back, breaking the spell as you release your hold on the knife.
âI think youâve got it from here.â
Satoru nods, his eyes lingering on you for a moment before he returns to the vegetables with a newfound determination.
There is a new awareness in the way he handles the knife, as if heâs carrying forward the memory of your touch.
The two of you work in comfortable silence for a while, the only sounds being the rhythmic chopping of vegetables and the sizzle of garlic in the pan.
It feels oddly domestic, a far cry from the high-stakes world of corporate mergers and charity galas.
The simplicity of this moment, shared in the soft light of the kitchen, is a refreshing contrast to the complexities of your usual lives.
âYou know, I never imagined Iâd be doing something like this,â Satoru admits after a while, his voice breaking the silence. âBut Iâm glad I am.â
You glance over at him, catching the sincerity in his eyes, and you canât help but smile.
âCooking is kind of therapeutic for me, you know,â you say, your voice thoughtful as you turn your attention back to the task at hand. âIt helps me clear my mind, and itâs something I can control, unlike so many other things in life.â
Satoru watches you for a moment, his expression softening as he absorbs your words. Thereâs a quiet admiration in his gaze, one that you can feel even without looking at him.
âYou know, I gotta say, youâre really good at this.â
âHm? Cooking?â you ask, glancing up at him with a curious tilt of your head.
âNo,â his voice softens. âBalancing everything. Being a mother, dealing with me, and now standing up in that meeting. Youâre incredible.â
His words catch you off guard, the sincerity in his tone wrapping around your heart like a warm embrace.
Your cheeks flush at the unexpected compliment, a warmth spreading through you that has nothing to do with the heat of the stove.
For a moment, youâre at a loss for words, the gravity of his praise settling in. You turn your attention back to the stove, stirring the sauce with a renewed focus, using the task to steady yourself.
âThanks, Satoru,â you finally manage. âThat means a lot.â
As you continue to cook, the tension of the day begins to melt away, replaced by a sense of calm that settles over you like a warm blanket.
The kitchen fills with the rich, mouthwatering aroma of simmering tomatoes, fresh basil, and garlic, the scents mingling together to create an atmosphere that feels both comforting and intimate.
Satoru moves beside you with surprising grace, each motion purposeful and smooth, belying his earlier claims of inexperience.
You find yourself stealing glances at him, admiring the way his sleeves are rolled up to his elbows, exposing the toned muscles of his forearms as he works.
Thereâs a quiet concentration in his expression, a focus that draws you in, making it impossible not to notice the way heâs completely absorbed in the task at hand.
âLooks like youâre a natural.â
Your words earn you a grin, his usual playfulness shining through.
âDonât jinx it,â he warns, making a particularly precise cut with the knife, his movements confident and sure.
You laugh, the sound light and carefree as you turn back to the sauce simmering on the stove.
âI think itâs time to taste this,â you say, stirring the rich, fragrant mixture with a wooden spoon. âWant to give it a try?â
Satoru nods, stepping closer, the space between you narrowing as he joins you at the stove.
You scoop a bit of the sauce onto a spoon, blowing on it gently to cool it down before lifting it to your lips for a taste. The rich, tangy flavors explode on your tongue, the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity.
âMmm, I think itâs almost perfect,â you murmur, savoring the taste, your eyes fluttering shut for a moment as you let the flavors linger.
âAlmost?â he asks, his voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of challenge.
You smile, opening your eyes to find his gaze fixed on you, the intensity in his blue eyes sending a shiver down your spine.
âHere, taste,â you say, holding the spoon up to his lips, your hand steady.
He leans in, his movements slow and deliberate, every inch closer making your heart beat a little faster. His eyes remain locked on yours with an unspoken intensity, and as his lips close around the spoon, you find yourself holding your breath, waiting for his reaction.
Thereâs a brief pause as he savors the sauce, his expression thoughtful.
âWow, thatâs delicious,â his voice low and sincere.
Just as youâre about to smile in response, you feel a light touch on your lip. Before you can react, Satoru reaches out, his thumb gently swiping at the corner of your mouth where a bit of sauce had lingered.
The unexpected contact sends a jolt of electricity through you, your breath catching in your throat.
Without breaking eye contact, he brings his thumb to his own lips, tasting the sauce with a playful smirk that leaves you momentarily speechless.
âNow thatâs perfect.â
The simple gesture, so intimate and unassuming, leaves you flustered, warmth spreading through your cheeks.
The kitchen seemed to grow smaller and the air thicker.
You quickly turn your attention back to stirring the pasta, desperately trying to steady your racing heart and regain your composure as you move the spoon in slow, deliberate circles.
âYou always know how to make things interesting,â you manage to say, your voice betraying the flutter of nerves that Satoru has stirred up.
He chuckles softly, a sound that vibrates through the small space between you, and you feel him step closer until his chest is nearly brushing against your back.
The warmth of his presence wraps around you, cocooning you in a sense of comfort and something moreâsomething electric.
âI could say the same about you,â his breath warm against your ear.
You turn slightly, your breath catching as you realize just how close he is. His blue eyes, so focused and intense, lock onto yours, and the world seems to narrow to just the two of you.
Satoru leans in, his voice dropping to a soft murmur that sends a shiver down your spine.
âYou have a way of making everything more exciting, y/n.â
You swallow hard, your throat suddenly dry as your eyes flicker to his lips and then back to his eyes.
The pull between you is magnetic, undeniable, and you struggle to maintain your composure.
âMaybe itâs just because youâre so easily entertained,â you tease, your voice barely above a whisper, trying to diffuse the intensity of the moment with a hint of playfulness.
He grins, the expression sending your heart into a wild flutter.
Slowly, his hand moves to rest on the counter beside you, effectively trapping you in place. The gesture is subtle yet commanding, his body language exuding a quiet confidence that leaves you feeling both exhilarated and breathless.
âOr maybe itâs because youâre just that captivating,â he counters, his voice a hushed rumble that sends another wave of warmth through you.
âOkaaay, Mr. Smooth Talker,â you manage to say, your voice tinged with nervous laughter as you attempt to regain some semblance of control. âHow about you help me with the garlic bread?â
The suggestion is your lifeline, a way to shift the focus and calm your racing heart before youâre completely lost in the moment.
Satoruâs grin widens, clearly enjoying your flustered state.
âWhatever you need, Chef,â he replies, his tone lightening as he pushes away from the counter and moves to the other side of the kitchen.
The distance between you offers a brief reprieve, allowing you to steady your breathing and refocus on the task at hand.
Get it togetherâthis isnât real.

The table is set with a simple elegance that mirrors the meal youâve preparedâfresh pasta topped with a rich, fragrant tomato sauce, golden garlic bread still warm from the oven, and a crisp, colorful salad that adds a splash of vibrancy to the setting.
Haru, already seated with her eyes wide in anticipation, swings her little legs under the table, her excitement palpable.
âMama, pasta!â she exclaims, her voice filled with childlike wonder.
Her gaze flickers from the steaming plates to the basket of garlic bread, her small hands already reaching for a slice as if she can hardly wait another moment.
Satoru chuckles as he takes his seat beside her, his smile widening at the sight of her enthusiasm.
âPatience, Haru,â he teases, ruffling her hair affectionately. âLetâs wait for your mama to sit down.â
You join them at the table, a soft smile playing on your lips as you take in the scene.
Carefully, you begin to serve the plates, starting with Haru. You scoop a generous portion of pasta onto her plate, the rich tomato sauce clinging perfectly to the tender strands.
âThere you go, sweetie,â you say with a smile, placing the plate in front of her. âBut remember, eat slowly, okay? We have all the time in the world.â
Haru nods eagerly, though you can tell sheâs barely restraining herself. Her little fingers curl around her fork, her eyes never leaving the plate as she prepares to dive in.
Next, you turn to Satoru, serving him a plate with equal care.
The pasta glistens under the soft light, the aroma of garlic and herbs wafting up as you set it before him.
As you place the plate down, his eyes meet yours, and in that brief moment, thereâs a silent exchangeâone of gratitude, warmth, and something deeper, something unspoken but understood.
âThank you,â he murmurs.
You nod in response, your heart warming at the connection between you, simple yet profound.
Meanwhile, Haruâs eyes widen even further as she finally takes her first bite.
The flavors burst in her mouth, her little face lighting up with pure delight. She chews enthusiastically, her expression one of sheer happiness, and you canât help but smile at her reaction.
âYummy!â she declares, her mouth full as she grins up at you.
Her words are filled with such genuine enthusiasm and innocence that it makes your heart swell with pride.
Satoru watches Haru with a fond smile before he too takes a bite of the meal youâve lovingly prepared.
His expression shifts almost immediately to one of pleasant surprise, his eyes widening slightly as the flavors settle on his palate. He chews thoughtfully, savoring the blend of fresh ingredients and the care that went into the preparation.
âSheâs right. This is amazing, you really outdid yourself.â
A smile spreads across your face, a warmth blooming in your chest at their praise.
Itâs a simple meal, nothing extravagant, but the way theyâre enjoying it makes it feel like the most special dinner in the world.
âIâm glad you both like it. Itâs nice to be able to cook for you.â
As you begin to eat, the room fills with the sounds of contentmentâHaruâs happy chatter as she dives into her meal, Satoruâs occasional hum of approval as he tastes each dish, and the gentle clinking of cutlery against plates.
The meal continues and the three of you fall into an easy rhythm, the conversation flowing naturally.
Haru tells stories about her day, her voice animated as she shares every little detail. Satoru listens attentively, his focus on her unwavering, his smile growing with each of her excited exclamations.
At one point, Haru insists on feeding Satoru a bite of her pasta, her giggles bubbling up like a stream as she carefully maneuvers the fork towards his mouth.
Satoru, ever the playful one, exaggerates the motion, opening his mouth wide and making a show of how delicious the bite is. He rolls his eyes in mock ecstasy, his exaggerated reaction sending Haru into a fit of laughter that rings out like the purest music.
The way Satoru looks at Haru, with such genuine affection and warmth, causes a tightness in your chestâa beautiful, almost overwhelming sensation that swells within you.
His eyes are soft, his smile unguarded, and in that moment, you can see just how much he cherishes these little interactions with her.
Itâs a sight that tugs at your heartstrings, making you realize just how deeply heâs become entwined in both your lives.
Taking in this moment, you feel a deep sense of contentment, a quiet happiness that fills your heart to the brim.
This scene, so ordinary yet so special, feels like a moment you want to hold onto forever.
It is a culmination of everything youâve been striving forâa sense of belonging, of family, of home.
Ah, but this isnât realâjust a charade.
Just as this warmth settles in your heart, a pang of bittersweetness follows.
Yet, despite knowing the truth, you canât help but wish, just for a moment, that it could be.
Haru, now tired from all the excitement, leans against Satoru, her small head resting on his arm. Her eyelids grow heavy, her earlier energy now spent, and she begins to drift off, her breaths becoming slow and rhythmic.
Satoru glances at you, his eyes filled with a tenderness that makes your breath hitch.
âYou know,â he begins, his voice low and sincere, âI could get used to this. We should cook more often. Sharing meals like this... itâs nice.â
Your breath catches in your throat, and for a second, the line between reality and pretense blurs. You nod, but your mind races.
This is just a charade⊠right?
Yet, as you look into Satoruâs eyes, the warmth there makes you question everything. Maybe, just maybe, thereâs a part of him that feels the same way you doâa longing for this to be more than just an act.
êšïž
The late afternoon sunlight filters through the curtains of the Gojo mansion, casting a warm golden grown across the living room.
You sit on the couch as Haru plays on the floor, completely absorbed in her toys, her little hands guiding her dolls through an imagined world of adventure and make-believe.
Her soft giggles and murmured conversations with her toys bring a smile to your face, filling the room with a sense of peace and contentment.
Satoru had business to attend to, and before leaving, he made sure you had the rest of the day to spend with Haru.
Itâs a rare and treasured opportunity, these quiet hours spent together, free from the demands of the outside world.
As you watch Haru, you feel a deep sense of gratitude for this timeâthis simple, unhurried togetherness that feels so rare in your often chaotic lives.
But then, the doorbell rings, cutting through the tranquility like a sharp knife.
You glance toward the door, your heart giving a slight, uneasy flutter.
Pushing aside the apprehension creeping into your chest, you rise from the couch, taking a steadying breath as you approach the door.
When you open it, youâre met with the sight of a stern-looking man in a crisp suit, his expression as unyielding as his posture.
Thereâs something about his demeanor that instantly puts you on edge. Heâs holding an envelope in one hand, his grip firm, almost as if the paper holds some kind of weight beyond its physical presence.
âMrs. Gojo?â he asks, his voice flat, businesslike.
The formal tone sends a shiver down your spine, and you nod cautiously, a sense of dread unfurling in the pit of your stomach.
âYes, thatâs me,â you reply, your voice a little more tentative than youâd like.
Without another word, he thrusts the envelope into your hands, his gaze unwavering as he says,
âYouâve been served.â
The words hang in the air, heavy and ominous. Your fingers tighten around the envelope as confusion and alarm spike within you.
âServed? For what?â you ask, your voice betraying the anxiety thatâs quickly rising.
The manâs expression remains unchanged, impassive.
âCustody of Haru. Mr. Naoya Zenin is filing for full custody,â he states matter-of-factly, as if itâs just another routine task for him, another case on a long list.
The shock of his words hits you like a physical blow, your breath catching in your throat.
For a moment, you stand there frozen, the reality of the situation slowly sinking in as he turns on his heel and walks away, leaving you standing in the doorway, the envelope clutched tightly in your hand.
This canât be happening.
With trembling hands, you tear open the envelope, your eyes darting across the densely packed lines of legal jargon. Each word seems to blur into the next as your heart pounds furiously in your chest.
This is happening.
A cold wave of dread washes over you, settling deep in your bones as the reality of the situation begins to take hold.
Just a few feet away, Haru is still playing in the living room, her laughter and cheerful babble a stark contrast to the turmoil thatâs unraveling in your mind.
Sheâs completely oblivious to the storm thatâs brewing, her innocence a painful reminder of whatâs at stake.
As you stand there, frozen in place, your phone buzzes, snapping you out of your daze.
You glance down at the screen, your stomach knotting as you see Naoyaâs name flash across it. With a sense of dread, you unlock the phone and read the message.
Naoya Zenin: There, hopefully I finally have your attention. I suggest giving me a call if you want to avoid this all.
The words hit you like a punch to the gut, a toxic mix of fear and anger bubbling up inside you.
Your hands shake uncontrollably as you stare at the message, the smugness practically oozing from each word.
You force yourself to take a deep breath, trying to steady the whirlwind of emotions threatening to consume you.
With shaky fingers, you dial Naoyaâs number. Each ring feels like an eternity, and when he finally answers, his voice is dripping with satisfaction.
âY/n, I was wondering when youâd call,â he purrs, his tone as smooth as ever, but laced with an unmistakable undercurrent of smugness.
âWhat the hell is this, Naoya?â you demand, your voice trembling with a mix of fury and fear. âYouâre filing for full custody of Haru?â
Thereâs a pause, and you can almost hear the smirk in his voice when he finally responds. He chuckles softly, the sound sending chills down your spine.
âI see you got my notice. Good. Itâs time we discussed Haruâs future.â
The casual tone in his voice, as if this is just another business deal, ignites a fire within you. But before you can respond, he continues, his voice turning colder.
âIâm sending you an address. Meet me here tomorrow. Oh, and y/n.â his voice drops, becoming even more sinister, âI strongly suggest you donât involve Satoruâunless you want this to become a nasty custody battle.â
His words hang in the air, a thinly veiled threat that tightens around your chest like a vice.
You stand there, phone in hand, the weight of his ultimatum pressing down on you.
The line goes dead.
strap in guys we are approaching some angst đ„ș oh if only reader knew how down bad satoru is for her đ„Č i actually really struggled with how i wanted this chapter to be structured, there are a lot of scenes i ended up writing that i opted to move to a later chapter because i just felt it was too rushed. the slow burn of this relationship is really important to me, so ultimately, i think it was for the best. would love to hear your thoughts! thanks for reading my fic đ«¶đ» â onto the next chapter êš

exhausted and battle-worn levi who has made something of a habit of crawling into your bed after missions.
it's a habit that formed first out of necessity; you'd both been tasked with bringing the cadets on a snowstorm training exercise but had to bail out halfway up the mountain due to an avalanche. you'd sent the cadets back down with hange and moblit while offering to stay put with most of the equipment, figuring the gear too valuable to risk the chance of it being picked through by thieves by the time you were able to return. levi offered to stay with you, an offer you were sure he'd regret. you weren't close -- not enemies, but your relationship was built on begrudging respect and prolonged silence. not exactly the makings of an easy time spent alone together.
as the night turned inky black and blisteringly cold, you soon realised that you underestimated how cutting the wind would be. the base was insulated as best as the survey corps could afford -- which is to say, very poorly.
out of desperation, you'd made an unspoken pact to share a bed that night.
it wasn't romantic, let alone sexual, a pragmatic measure designed to keep your fingers and toes intact, but you were surprised to find him still there in the morning when the wind had died down. he wasn't curled up against you and his face betrayed no signs of any emotion, but he was still there. you were the first to slip out from under the covers.
the next time was after a particularly late night spent strategising (on levi's end) and drinking (on yours). you'd grown somewhat closer since that night spent up the mountain, with him trusting your opinion over most other officers. at the end-of-year celebration, a rowdy event with all military branches forced to attend, he had chosen to sit next to you, a decision that caused something of a stir amongst the cadets. you both chose to disregard the gossip, though even you couldn't ignore the way his eyes followed your every movement that evening.
when the coast was clear you retired to your chambers with him trailing after you, eager to escape a night spent putting up with the drunken debauchery of the military police. again, the night was tame, with you exchanging various plans and theories back and forth until you both fell asleep, clothed, on top of your mattress.
you had felt the temptation to kiss him but didn't, figuring it was just the wine talking.
that kiss happened three missions later, with levi so relieved to find you alive he had taken your face in his blood-stained hands and pressed his lips to yours. it was more desperate than heated, a surge of emotion that even he couldn't control.
he showed up at your door that night and took his place next to you in your bed, and a habit was born.
things move slowly with you both, and you're okay with that. everything else about your lives moves at breakneck speed, too fast to process, and so you're content with the little victories.
like levi resting a hand across your waist as you sleep, keeping it there until it's time to get dressed for morning roll call.
like levi going from a silent goodbye to a spoken goodbye to a kiss before he steps away, ready to face back out into the world.
now, you wake to feel levi's chin resting against your shoulder, his head resting in the groove of your neck, it's another victory, and you'll take it happily.

IM A LEGIT JEDI NOW??? SICK!!!
does revan rlly not have pronouns i thought that was a tumblr thing but they straight up are a nonbinary icon ive never heard a single pronoun used. revan's pronouns are revan/revan's
damn revan seems so cool in these stories (charismatic war hero that convinced their troops to join them as conqueror?? julius caesar) and yet all we've seen them do onscreen is get blown up and die by accident
A YEAR AGO? the way they were talking i assumed revan died like. a week before the game started
master uh i forgot his name he has martin scorcese vibes said revan was a paragon of the jedi so what im getting is that all jedi gifted kids turn evil
even if i didnt know revan as a tumblr darling id KNOW revan has to be alive somewhere they way everyone talks abt them is too cool for a character who exploded and died. i think. i hope. I PAID ÂŁ1.19 TO MEET REVAN

i hope she can join my party she looks too unique to be a random npc
ive been thinking and I might be going crazy but there was a loading screen tip ages ago that said jedis could wipe ppl's mind and all i thought at the time was 'fuck the shitshow acolyte didnt make that up'. but what if one of them wiped MY memory and i used to be a jedi or smthn ????????
cause they keep being like ur weirdly good at this??? did bastila steal my memories??????????

Batfam at a gala with the reader being dubbed the "hearttrob", the reader is really handsome and nearly everybody wants to get into his pants. However, the reader is actually a really innocent and the family is always on a mission to stop anyone from talking to the reader who just wants to get him into their bed. They're like "nuh uh he only deserves the best"
Oh God, chaos is about to ensue lol. Just everyone being, nope.
Summary: The fam protects their handsome brother.
Warnings: Mentions of alcohol, people trying to get into (Y/N)'s pants, protective family...
Out of the 5 sons that Bruce has, both adopted and biological, all of them were handsome in their own way. But (Y/N) was the most handsome one, even more handsome than Damian, who was a second contender to the title. Bruce has never ever made any of them feel bad about it.
Besides, none of them really cared about that title anyway. It was bullshit according to them, but... They had agreed that (Y/N) was the most handsome one. That was something that they couldn't deny in the slightest. They all have agreed that if they weren't brothers, they would try and date him.
Of course, that's what a lot of people tried to do and (Y/N) was called a heartthrob for it. He was often in magazines, gossip ones whilst wearing something nice or casual and the internet would simply explode. It has happened a few times before and it was amusing and Jason nearly died from laughing every single time it happened.
God forbid he gets an Instagram or anything like that.
Internet would not survive in any way, shape or form.
Galas were more often that not insane to deal with. (Y/N) was always a genuine person who would really want to love someone, someone who wouldn't use him for like bragging rights or anything similar. When (Y/N) loves, he loves.
That's something that his brothers knew, alongside Bruce of course. So, being a protective they are, they made a pact to protect (Y/N) from people who would only want to sleep with him. There were many douchebags like that, who only want to get in (Y/N)'s pants.
It was nuts.
The same thing was happening tonight, at a gala for some charity. It was for the homeless people of Gotham city. (Y/N) was dressed sharply, in a classic black suit with a white shirt. Of course, he finished his look with a black tie. He moved around the room to talk to people, avoiding the knows reporters. He wasn't interested in them.
He was more interested in something else and that was his bed. Just two more hours.
However, the others noticed people looking at him, eyeing him like he was a piece of meat for them. A prize. Prey. A trophy. It didn't sit well with any of the family members. (Y/N) deserves nothing more than the best partner he could get.
Only the best.
Jason was eyeing a man who was looking at his brother and has made a move. He started walking towards his brother, but Jason was one step ahead. They were all wearing earpieces, just like on patrol. Jason lifted his glass of wine. " A man is on the move. Tim, he is in your line of sight. " Jason murmured, hiding his mouth with his glass of wine.
Tim turned his head from a man he was talking to and excused himself, quickly making his way to his brother before the douchebag could even reach him.
" Hey (Y/N), Jason wanted to talk to you. " Tim said as he patted his shoulder and (Y/N) nodded, leaving to find Jason, who heard it all and was now trying to figure out a reason to talk to (Y/N).
Tim turned his head to look at the man, who was glaring at Tim. Tim was thoroughly unimpressed.
" I know exactly what you want with my brother. I have seen it time and time before. It won't happen. " Tim said coldly and turned around, leaving the angry man behind.
Damian and Dick smirked from their spots. It was amazing to see it. Truly amazing.
And (Y/N) always turned a blind eye to it. It was either for the reason that he didn't want to deal with people or he simply didn't know. He always played dumb for it, but they all suspected that he knew.
Either way, it soothed the protective urge in them. Bruce knew what they were doing and he was doing absolutely nothing to stop his boys. Only if it was physical. Only then he would step in.
And Alfred? Alfred was the silent watcher, listening and waiting. He listened because most men like that brag about things and are bound to uncover something about themselves. And Alfred is never wrong. He always saw right through them.
As Jason and (Y/N) were talking, the others remained vigilant. It was far more interesting this way. More fun at this gala. Not just this one, but the others too. Far more interesting.
(Y/N) got himself some whiskey and just sipped it slowly. It was a nice evening. Damian moved around, seeing a man walking in the general direction of (Y/N). Damian moved through the crowd of people, watching the man like a hawk.
There was something way off about him. Something was way off. Damian couldn't put his finger on it, but he knew that he couldn't ignore the feeling. If there is one thing that Damian was taught, it was to never ignore his gut feeling about people.
He kept following the man, seeing a lustful gaze in his eyes. That bastard. Damian's eyes narrowed at the man, especially when (Y/N) left to go to the bathroom. Damian's mind went into overdrive, knowing that (Y/N) would be vulnerable there.
" I'm moving to the bathroom. " Damian murmured as he approached the bathroom, making sure to keep some distance. He smudged his shirt a bit to have an excuse to go to the bathroom. He entered it, seeing someone chatting up (Y/N).
Damian cleared his throat as he approached the sinks. " (Y/N), father wants to talk to you. Says it's important. " Damian said and Bruce chuckled through the earpiece.
" Thanks Dames. " (Y/N) said with a smile and excused himself from the conversation he was having with a polite smile. The man kept up a polite smile until (Y/N) left and turned to Damian with a scowl. Damian had to control an urge to not laugh in his face.
" Listen kid, don't ruin this for me. " The man said and Damian kept his cool.
" I know who you are. Your father is a business partner of WE. And Bruce Wayne is protective of his sons so don't make me tell him what you said. " Damian said coldly, but Bruce already heard it. But of course, will keep it quiet as long as the man is somewhat respectful.
Now, the last sentence alone made the man scared. It was a well known fact that Bruce Wayne doesn't take any disrespect about his sons. Of any kind. Damian smirked as he saw that the man has paled.
Damian left without a word and saw Dick who smirked too. " Good job Damian. " Dick said as he high fived Damian in passing, composing himself quickly as the man hurried out of the bathroom, clearly distressed.
The two smirked, making Tim snort from where he watched them with Connor. Bruce subtly rolled his eyes at that, but was happy that Damian took control.
And (Y/N)? He simply remained unbothered, chatting away with Alfred, who was happy to stop for a good chat with his grandson.

DIES NATALIS - geta and caracalla
âËâč⥠dies natalis; meaning birthday, anniversary. âËâč emperor geta x fem!reader x emperor caracalla âËâč masterlist. âËâč based on this request. (3.9k words)
The rising sun cast light through the open windows and along the marble flooring of the grand room; spreading a gossamer veil of scattered iridecence into the space. A warm breeze came in, making the silk curtains billow. You woke up a while ago, still stuck on the same time clock when you had been working day in and day out. In the large bed you were in, two bodies clung to your form.Â
Caracallaâs face was buried in your stomach, subconsciously trying to escape the rising sun. His arms were wrapped around your middle and he was peacefully snoring. Next to you lay Geta, whose arm was directly over your chest, holding you down to the bed. You could feel the tickle of his breath on your neck as his rhythmic breathing signalled that like his brother, he was in a state of deep sleep.Â
You wondered how long it would take for them to wake up. Today was their dies natalis, the day they were both born. Endless festivities and games had been planned for the entire week to celebrate. Important people from all over the empire had travelled â many long distances â to come and offer gifts for the emperors. Yet, you did not wish to wake them just yet. They were so calm, so relaxed; such was a rarity with the amount of stress they were constantly under.Â
Suddenly, you found yourself reminiscing on when you first met them many moons ago. Things were so different then and never would you have thought they would change.Â
The day had been impossibly hot, more so than usual on summer days. Despite the heat, the emperors did not shy away from it. They were in one of the palace courtyards that had multiple fabric covers over the top, with some slivers of rays peaking through the cracks and tumbling down upon the stone and reflecting off of the ground and walls. A small pool was at the centre, decorated with lilypads and other flora. Fish swam about, exotic and imported from faraway lands.Â
You were tasked with bringing the emperors another pitcher of wine. It had only been your first week in the palace and the imposing structure had yet to become familiar. It was grand, full of memories and secrets that you would never uncover. As you made your way to the twins, your nerves had gotten the better of you.Â
You stepped out into the courtyard and were greeted by the sounds of birds chirping and water running as it was directed from a pipe into the pond. Your feet carefully moved knowing that it is best that you remain as quiet as possible. The brothers sat at a table placed upon a raised dais. A vast platter of various foods was placed in front of them and the brothers lazily picked about; the intense heat had killed a large portion of their appetite.Â
Upon reaching them, you bowed, though they did not seem to notice you as they were talking. You quickly poured more wine into both of their goblets and moved to stand a few feet away. There, you would wait if they needed anything. You held the pitcher in both of your hands and gazed off to the side. Every once in a while you would glance back at them to make sure their cups were not empty.Â
After a few moments, the sound of one of the emperorâs voices calling for you brought you out of your daze.Â
âYou, girl.â Caracalla leant back in his seat with an air of carelessness, though there were hints of curiosity in his wondrous eyes. You moved instantly, making your way up the two steps of the dais and bowing to both of the emperors.
âIs there anything you need, Caesar?â You asked. He was gazing at you, but there was something in his eyes that showed he was not entirely present.Â
âYou are new here,â Caracalla stated and he shared a look with his brother who sat across from him, âI have not seen you around here. Who are you?â
His curiosity struck you as odd. You were nothing but a small part of the axis that made up the chariot of the empire â only a useful tool to keep it moving along.Â
You answered with your name and he hummed. While Caracalla looked content with talking to you, Geta had rested his elbow on the table and his chin in his hand. A look of annoyance was on his face.Â
âBrother, we were talking about Acaciusâ movements.â It seemed that you understood the reason behind Getaâs indifference. They were engaged in a conversation when Caracalla called you over, getting distracted as he is known to do.Â
âAh, yes,â Caracalla answered, âYouâre dismissed.âÂ
You bowed again before moving down the steps while facing them, knowing it was disrespectful to turn your back to them. Once you were far enough away, you turned and walked back into the palace.Â
If you thought hard enough, you could still feel the harsh pounding of your heartbeat at that moment. It had taken you a while to calm down. Your body had already been struggling to cope with the heat, but that encounter had left you flushed for the rest of the day.Â
It was a pivotal change in your life. Afterwards, Caracalla had repeatedly summoned you to serve him and his brother. The older twin had come to be comfortable in your presence quickly, coming to you for comfort. It was odd how easily he clung to you. You supposed it was because of his condition that ailed him. You did not judge him for it and came to figure out ways to help him when he had an episode.Â
Geta, on the other hand, was difficult to gain the favour of. He had been wary of you from the start. There was a deep-seated paranoia in his body which caused him to be distrustful of everyone that was not his brother. He often ignored you when you were around, only talking directly to his brother even if you were involved in the conversations.Â
Your hand made its way to his copper hair, brushing at the strands gently as they reflected the sunlight streaming in. His face was relaxed as he breathed in and out, content to rest on your chest. It was at that moment when you remembered the day he had opened up to you.Â
Caracalla had been inconsolable for the better part of an hour. The few servants that had dared enter his quarters were left running from the scene in horror and fear. Geta had been there and struggled to control his brotherâs actions. Oddly, you had been summoned to the room after hearing about the events.Â
As you made your way down the hall, you could hear his shouting from behind the doors.Â
âSchemers! Traitors! They are here, they are here for us! Theyâll kill us!â More crashing came after, the sound of pottery smashing acting as a sharp contrast to his voice. âWhere is she? I want her! Is she safe? Where is she?âÂ
You burst into the room and saw Caracalla brandishing a sword and flailing it about like it weighed nothing. Curtains were torn, furniture tipped over and smashed, sheets and pillows strewn about, and food had been spilled from a table. Geta was standing back and dodging his brotherâs swings.
âI am here, brother! Stop this, please!â Geta was begging. His clothes were ruffled and his face was distressed.Â
Caracalla spotted you at the entrance and pointed the shortsword at you, but not in a threatening manner, âYou! Have they come for you, too? They have tried to kill me again. Theyâll come after you soon!âÂ
You recognized his inconsolable state, having dealt with it several times before this. You knew that you had to act fast before others got hurt; even worse, before he got hurt.Â
âNobody has come for me, sweet boy. See?â You gestured to your body, âI am unharmed, as are you.â He was still swinging the sword around and whipped his head from side to side like a figure would jump out from behind any of the pillars in the room and go straight to attack him.Â
âIt is only a matter of time! They always come, you must stay safe!â Caracalla was enraged, but it was undercut by tears that threatened to spill from his eyes.Â
âYou wish for me to be safe, sweet boy?â You asked, already having come up with a plan to disarm him so he would not hurt himself or others. While this was going on, you could feel the intense gaze of Geta who stood off to the side, seemingly having lost all hope of recovering his brother.Â
âThat sword, I can protect myself with it. Right, my sweet boy?â You had learned quickly that he was very receptive to that nickname and responded well when you went along with his thoughts long enough to coax him out of it.Â
He stopped swinging the sword, âI⊠yes. Yes, you can protect yourself.â His voice dropped and he had stopped shouting. Carefully, you approached him and reached out for the short sword. Caracalla hesitantly passed it you you. When it was in your grasp, you let out a breath you were holding. Now that he was disarmed, Caracalla hit his head, muttering things under his breath as he sat down near the only table that was not knocked over. He wished to huddle under it.
Geta was beside you and you turned to him. Gripping the top of the hilt by where the blade is attached, you held it out for him to take. There was a look on his face almost akin to awe or veneration. He took it from your hold and you bowed your head gently.Â
Turning back to Caracalla, you bent down and sat next to him. There was a shattered vase on the floor that you cautiously tried to avoid. There were puddles of water and various flowers strewn about. An idea came to your head, one that you hoped would ground him back to the world.Â
You gathered up a few of the flowers. A couple of shards of the broken vase cut your hands, but you paid it no mind. The iris you held out to him had a thin stem and multiple purple petals spread out in a pretty arrangement.Â
âSweet boy, smell this flower. It is beautiful, isnât it?â Caracalla looked at the flower and hesitantly leaned closer to you to smell it. He took in a breath, his nostrils flaring. For a moment he stared off at the stone floor.Â
âIris. It is an iris.â Caracalla spoke. Geta had put the sword away and came to sit by you. You tried not to focus on how close he was and how you could smell the scent of fresh linen on him.Â
âGood,â You passed it off to him so he could hold it and picked out another flower, âWhich one is this?âÂ
âA lily,â Caracalla responded. The two of you continued the process with a few more different flowers, with Getaâs vision switching back and forth to see the interaction. The cuts on your hand bled slightly, but the pain was worth it to see how well the plan was working.Â
After a few minutes, Caracallaâs eyes blinked rapidly before stopping. He glanced around the space, âIâ what happened to this room?âÂ
âHello again, sweet boy,â You cupped his face with your hand and swiped your thumb along his cheek to get rid of a few tears that escaped his eyes. You did not want to worry him or risk losing him to his mind again if you told him of his outburst, âYour brother is here.â It would help him immensely to see the familiar face of Geta that was next to you.Â
âGeta?â He asked.Â
âYes. He wishes to see you. Why must you hide in that mind of yours? He loves you very much and misses you.â You handed him the rest of the flowers so he could bunch them up in his hands, sniff them, and hopefully remain grounded. Caracalla seemed stuck in the trance of the flowers but was clear from his delusions. His fingers brushed the petals gently.
âI will go and get you some water.â You informed him before getting up. He needed to get more fluid into his body after exerting it so much. As you exited the room, you did not notice that Geta followed you.Â
âWait!â He called out. You turned around and waited for him to get to you. When he stood in front of you, he paused. Getaâs mouth opened and closed a few times as if he was having trouble putting to words what he wanted to say. This was the first time you two were alone and you were scared he would now cast you off for not addressing his brother with the titles he held.Â
âYouâŠâ He took in a large breath, âYou calmed himâŠâÂ
âYes, Caesar. It was not the first time.â You did not know what else to say. His gaze flickered down for a moment, spotting the blood on your hands. Geta took a step closer and grabbed your wrists. He pulled them up to inspect them closer. You could not deny the feeling of shock that shot up your arms at his touch. You watched his eyes flicker with unknown thoughts.Â
âIâll send for the healer,â He said. You smiled gently at him.
âCaesar, thank you but I am fineââ
âI will send for the healer.â His voice was more stern that time. There was no arguing, so you agreed to the help. He walked you back to Caracallaâs room and you pretended that you did not notice the fact that he kept his hold on one of your hands.Â
After that incident, Geta was more trusting of you. He did not look annoyed when Caracalla invited you around Rome. In fact, he had begun to send for you even when he was alone. It took longer for him to begin to speak about his own troubles, but you appreciated how open he had become.Â
To others, your relationship with the emperors was considered odd. Them having favoured a servant and shared your company was not like their other concubines. They had preferred to keep that part separate from one another and not share. However, what the politicians and high society found even more odd was that over time they had abandoned their concubines in favour of you. Some whispered of sorcery; that you enchanted them. Others believed you had somehow blackmailed them.Â
The simple answer was that Geta and Caracalla had found an unlikely companion in you that went beyond physical attraction. Many could call it odd, but you did not care.Â
While one of your hands carted through Getaâs hair to slowly wake him up, your other hand trailed down to Caracallaâs head that rested on your stomach. You began to massage his scalp and watched as he started to twitch; indicating that he was slowly coming out of whatever dreams had a hold of him.Â
Geta woke first. He groaned lightly and tucked his head into your neck. He breathed out and his lips brushed the underside of your jaw.Â
âGood morning. It is your special day today,â You spoke. He groaned again and shuffled closer to you. He peppered a few small kisses to your jaw, but still kept his eyes closed.Â
âDonât speak of it. Let us stay here.â His arm tightened around your upper chest while his hand moved to hold the side of your face and tilt your head closer to his so he could lay kisses on your cheek. You giggled at his movements, causing your stomach to move more and wake up Caracalla quicker than your hand massaging his head.Â
âGood morning, sweet boy,â You spoke. He, like his brother, only groaned in response and buried his head further into your stomach. He peppered kisses onto your stomach and you felt your skin heat up at the attention from both of them. His arms that wrapped around your torso tightened slightly. You ruffled his hair more.
âCan we not stay in bed?â Caracalla questioned, his voice muffled by the thin slip you wore to bed.Â
Geta hummed at his words, the feeling reverberating through your skin, âAgreed, brother.â
You almost wanted to laugh. They were never morning people, preferring to stay up late into the night and sleep in until the last possible moment. The habit was far different than yours. When you were still a servant, you had to be up well before the sun rose. Now, as you had since been relieved of those duties, you slowly began to get used to waking up later.Â
Knowing there was one surefire way of getting them up, you spoke, âWhat if I told you both I had gifts for you?â The moment those words left your lips, the twins shot up. Caracallaâs head lifted and you saw his shining bright blue orbs staring at you with anticipation. Geta pulled away slightly and propped himself up on one elbow to stare down at you.Â
âGifts?â Geta questioned.Â
âYou got us gifts?â Caracalla joined after.Â
You laughed at their enthusiasm, âOf course, I got you both gifts. But you must be up to receive them.â For a moment the two paused, weighing the scenarios in their heads. They turned to one another as if communicating in silence. Caracalla got up first, reaching for a wayward blanket and wrapping it around his body. Geta followed but grabbed his favourite red and gold robe.Â
Your arms and legs stretched out to relax. As you shifted to get out of bed, Caracalla reached out to hold your hand and help you off. Your bare feet hit the stone floor, sending a slight chill to your bones. You kissed his cheek and thanked him. As the brothers moved to graze at some of the food that had been carried in earlier, you walked to the doors and opened one.Â
Spotting one of the guards, you spoke, âCould you send for someone to fetch the emperorâs gifts?â The guard silently nodded and marched off. You came back in a closed the door. The grumbling in your stomach was hard to ignore as you sat down at the small circular table with Geta and Caracalla.Â
Instinctively, you moved to grab the pitcher of wine and pour them a drink, but Geta reached out and covered your hand that gripped the handle. He sent you a dismissive look. There were many times when they had to talk to you about your habits and how you no longer needed to do them, but it was hard to break. Instead, he picked up the pitcher and poured your drink first before doing it for his brother and then himself. You smiled while looking down at the plate in front of you. While you may have changed over the months, they had as well.Â
âWhat is it?â Caracalla questioned you as he shoved a few grapes into his mouth.Â
âWell, that would ruin the surprise. There are only a few more hours until the games start and the senate will expect an address forââÂ
âLetâs not speak on this now,â Geta interrupted while he rubbed his temple, âI wish to enjoy this morning.âÂ
âOf course,â You took a sip of wine before hearing a knock on the door. Instantly, you felt your nerves light up. You hoped, truly, that the gifts you picked out for them would be favoured. Today they would receive countless priceless objects from waiting members of the empire, and despite your new position as the emperor's favourite, you only had so much that you could give them.Â
You left the twins at the table and approached the door. Two servants stood on the outside. One handed you a gold gilded box and the other held onto a lead that was tied to a chittering monkey that rested on their shoulder. You bent over slightly to allow the monkey to crawl onto your shoulder.Â
The small creature was a sudden purchase. You had already commissioned Getaâs gift but were left pondering what Caracalla would like. All it took was an afternoon stroll in the exotic markets while the twins were in the senate; that was when you spotted the friendly little monkey poised to be sold. It felt like fate.Â
A broad smile made its way on your face. You turned back into the room at the two who remained eating and in conversation with one another. For a brief moment, the memory of when you first met them flashed to mind; the stifling sun, the babbling water, and the two eating their midday meal in the courtyard.Â
âCaracalla,â Caracalla turned to face you first, his eyes lighting up at the sight of the tiny monkey on your shoulder, âHappy dies natalis.âÂ
âMonkey!â He shot out of his seat and moved to you, instantly enraptured by the cute creature. You laughed at his enthusiasm.
âYouâll have to pick out a name for him.â You informed. Caracalla picked up a few pieces of fruit from the table and began to feed him while thinking up a name. You then turned to Geta, who was staring expectantly at you.Â
You handed him the gilded box, âHappy dies natalis.â He gripped the box and flipped open the lid. Inside were four rings, each similar in design but with different stones. A lapis lazuli ring as a symbol of royalty, opal for love and hope, amethyst for peace, and one final unassuming one that piqued his interest. He picked it up and inspected it.Â
âI know it does not look like much and is not as grand as the other stones,â You suddenly got nervous, âIt is a rock from the lands where I was born. I thought that, well, it may⊠Oh, I donât knowââ Geta quickly leaned towards you and placed a kiss on your temple.Â
âIt is perfect, truly.â He put the box down and slipped the ring onto the fourth finger of his left hand. You sucked in a breath at the gesture; the vein of love ran directly from that finger to the heart. The moment between you two was interrupted by Caracalla.Â
âDondas!â He yelled, âHe shall be Dondas!â Geta wound his arm around your waist, letting his hand rest on the side of your thigh. The coolness of the ring seeped passed the thin silk of the nightclothes you wore.Â
Caracalla had walked up to you, âThank you,â He pecked your cheek before focusing his attention back onto the monkey. Its delightful chittering was admittedly adorable and you held your hand out to gently pet his head.Â
âWe must show off Dondas. Everyone must know about him!â Caracalla spoke with enthusiasm. He made his way to the door, but you cleared your throat loudly. He turned back to you.Â
âWonât you get dressed first?â You questioned. A flush came over his face as he remembered he was only wrapped in a silk sheet. Getaâs hand squeezed your waist. You smiled before going to leave to get the servants to fetch their clothing.Â
It was odd how far your life had come and how much had changed, but it was better than you could have ever expected. The initial fear and trepidation you had when coming to serve in the palace had been worth it. Geta and Caracalla shattered your expectations. While they may still be ruthless, hotheaded, and prone to fits of anger, you knew there was no place safer for you.
This was my first time writing for these two and it was so much fun! Thank you to the anonymous sender for the request. I hope it turned out well <3

James loves when youâre at fancy rugby dinners together because you always sit opposite him and drag your foot up and down his leg.
He knows most times youâre doing it as a distraction but sometimes you do it just to remind him that youâre there and he loves it especially then.
Youâd notice him fiddling with his tie or biting the inside of his cheek as conversation dies down because heâs nervous about the awards and then youâd just trail your foot against his calf and suddenly heâs looking at you all smiles and with his cute dimples poking out.
Sometimes heâll reach down and grab your foot, fiddling with your heel until itâs off so he can massage your foot, a whispered, âSâthat nice, angel?â
Your cheeks would warm and youâd hide a smile behind your wine, but nod all the same.
Sometimes though, heâll drag tour chair closer to his, tilting your chin up to press a kiss to your lips, not really caring if the red lipstick stains his mouth.
âThanks baby,â heâll whisper in your ear, pressing another kiss to your temple and youâd just hum.
âSânothing Jamie.â
When he collects his award, heâs relaxed and isnât so nervous and when you leave you both go get celebratory lava cakes and look completely overdressed in the local Dominoes.
âYouâre the best,â James will whisper as he feeds you a bite and youâd roll your eyes, fighting desperately to stop your cheeks from splitting.
âIâm proud of you Jamie. You deserve it.â Youâd reply and his cheeks would flame scarlet, even more so when you pepper kisses on his cheeks.

May I pretty please request an emergency medicine doctor!reader x Hotch blurb? Iâd love to see both of them in careers that are difficult, yet despite that they still manage to be together because they understand each other so much. Maybe something with the rest of the team as well if itâs possible đ«¶đŒđ„č
Emily used to think Hotch would never be happy again. Sheâd drive him home after work, pick him up in the mornings, and sheâd think about how miserable he was, the kind of misery that hooks you in its grip, has you turning to wine or whiskey just to keep breathing.Â
She thought for sure heâd buckle. When Hayley died, heâd have to. How could you not? But he kept going and proved she shouldâve had more faith in him, becoming the father Jack deserves, and, surprisingly, your partner.Â
âYouâre squeezing me too tight,â you mumble, just loud enough for Emily and the others to hear you where Hotch hugs you a few feet from the dinner table. âWhy are you trying to break my back?âÂ
âI havenât seen you in three weeks.âÂ
âEighteen days is not three weeks.âÂ
âIt might as well be.â Hotch peels away from you to give you a once over. Emilyâs half jealousy and half fondness, seeing him love someone so obviously. âAre you hungry? I ordered for you.âÂ
âSuper hungry. Do I smell like antiseptic?âÂ
âNo, just soap.âÂ
âWell, thatâs not much better.âÂ
Hotch puts his arm behind your back and guides you to the table. The team squeeze out hellos between mouthfuls and you take your place at Hotchâs side behind a steaming plate. Youâre as ravenous as the rest of them after your long shift; Morgan can hardly get a word out of you for the first ten minutes, though he tries, and you attempt to be polite. Emily nudges him until he gets the hint to stop.Â
âHere,â Hotch says, putting a heaping of his food onto your plate with a large spoon.Â
âStop.â You attack his spoon with a fork.Â
âItâs fine, you like it more than I do.âÂ
âDonât care. You need your energy. Iâm going to make you carry me up the stairs home.âÂ
Heâs unintimidated. âAh.âÂ
âAh,â you echo. âYou sound so doubtful.âÂ
Hotch looks like he might try to keep flirting with you, but he gives in quickly, betraying how much heâs missed you with a hand slipping under the table. Emily sees his fingers curl over your knee, averting her gaze with a feigned sip of coke.Â
She can deduce the silent question you ask one another about anyways.Â
âWeâll have dessert,â you say. We wonât skip out early. âWhat are you having, Dr. Reid?âÂ
Hotch orders you three different things, which you eat fast.Â
âTheyâre not feeding you at the hospital?â Rossi asks.Â
âThree emergency transfers in twelve hours,â you explain, slouching now into Hotchâs side, one slow inch at a time. âI didnât have time for much.âÂ
âThatâs not healthy,â Hotch murmurs in concern.Â
âIâm sure I can ask any of your friends about your eating habits and find a similar schedule,â you brush him off, raising your gaze to Emily, then Morgan, then Rossi and Reid. Everyone smiles the same way. Hotch is caught, and his laugh jostles your shoulder.Â
âHave you ever heard the saying, âdo as I say, and not as I do?ââ he asks.Â
God, Emily thinks with a huff of a laugh she canât contain, get a room.Â
âHe likes that one,â Spencer says.Â
âI donât doubt it.â You lift your lips to his jaw and press a peck to the line of it. One, then two. âMaybe thatâs why we've lasted as long as we have. Mutual disregard for our wellbeing.âÂ
âAnd a great deal of care for each other,â Rossi says, nodding sagely. âThis is why my marriages never last.âÂ
âIs that why?â Spencer asks.Â
âYouâve gotten to be quite the lark.â
âLark,â Hotch whispers to you. Emily, sitting at his other side, might be the only one who hears, the others distracted by Spencer and Rossiâs ensuing squabble.
âScoundrel,â you agree.Â
âHowâs your head now?âÂ
âItâs gonna be a hundred percent better if you give me that,â you say, pointing hopefully at his full drink.Â
He doesnât hesitate to press it into your hand. Emily would never suspect you hadnât seen one another for weeks; you move and he follows. You rub your cheek against his shoulder. He touches his nose to your hair, his eyes shuttering closed for one stolen, blissful second. âMissed you,â he says under his breath.Â
Emily looks away with a smile. Hotch isnât hopelessly miserable anymore.Â
