Never, ever tell people your favorite names on your dog name list or the next thing you know somebody you told a name you really liked to will get a new dog and name it that.
#this has happened twice to me now with two of my top favorite names#granted one of them is a deity name so i dont find other dogs having that name weird#it was just the fact that it was a person i talked to specifically about wanting that name RIGHT BEFORE they got a new dog#and they named their next impulse purchase reactive byb mutt that 🙃#both of these happened in dogblr discords too#never sharing my name list with anyone but Wild/Canis again because i know we have mutual respect of the sanctity of chosen future names#do not steal names from your own friend group like DO YOU HAVE NO RESPECT????
