when this came out, an irl friend dmed me regarding my transition and if this would affect it. he's a cis, straight, white man with more privilege then i could see, yet he still cared enough to check on me. you can be privileged in society and still care about trans people, but these fucking monsters refuse to acknowledge our existence and is afraid of it, so they try to regulate us.

it's been only 3 days since trump has become president and he's doing shitty and racist policies on DEI and immigration.

this includes allowing ICE to enter churches and schools, requiring all federal employees in any position related to DEI to be put on paid leave by 5 pm est today, rolled back the equal employment opportunity act, which prohibited discrimination in federal hiring, and other heinous shit. if you want a full list of these policies, read more here.

trump has signed a lot of executive orders, this includes the one i mentioned previously about establishing the binary in america, that there are only "two genders recognized under american law: male and female." with the additional fact of taxpayer dollars could not go to "transitional services."

he also signed 11 immigration related executive orders, including "declaring a national emergency as it relates to the southern border, redefining the term birthright citizenship, clarifying the military’s role in border security, suspending refugee resettlement, ending asylum and closing the border for asylum seekers, restarting title 42, and ending the catch and release policy for mexico."

on top of this, he pardoned over 1,500 january 6th defendants and ordered the release of all january 6th defendants tonight.

transandrophobia, transmisandry, or anti-transmasculinity, whatever you call it or prefer to say what it is. i'll just say transandrophobia for the sake of simplicity.

transandrophobia as a concept is simple: trans men suffer from discrimination due to being transgender and transitioning into men. people do not agree with this because of men's privilege in society and the fact that trans men are "transitioning into privilege," they do not suffer discrimination. this is untrue, definitely. i believe that white trans men DO have privilege of some sort — they are white in a world dominated by white people and if fully transitioned, they could have privilege and a lot more protection than poc and black trans men.

as a black transsexual myself, transandrophobia affects me outside and inside my community. not only from cis men and women, but transmasculine people, especially my white counterparts. therefore, the reason i've come up with for some thinking transandrophobia isn't a real issue is due some white transmascs using our culture for their identity and not recognizing that black individuals and people of color fought for the rights we have today. white people have privilege in our society and culturally appropriating black people and not recognizing their accomplishments for trans and queer people is horrible and when white trans men do it, it gives the rest of us a bad look. we DO suffer from transandrophobia, but due to white privilege in the world, people think otherwise.

i don't think white trans men are excluded from transandrophobia, in fact, trans men discrimination is real as ever and gets worse throughout the years, but it's unnoticed by most due to societal expectations of men. we should recognize the white privilege from white transmasculines, but we need to also recognize the fact that transandrophobia is real. an issue that is ignored despite us suffering from transphobia and transandrophobia throughout our day to day lives, despite some white transmasculines entitlement to other cultures and ignorance to history.

in the big year of 2024, we're still putting sex on certain medical conditions and/or actions that are "typical" of the other sex. im a trans man with pcos, trans men give birth, and yet we exclude them from these conversations. trans men are men and they experiences these things that are typically seen as "women" experiences, when that isn't the case. you are literally reading a post from someone with pcos, a vagina, but im still a man regardless

not to be funny but when someone is talking about a certain group of people and their issues, such as trans men, and immediately bring up the augment of "but what about transfems?" or try to contradict the issue by saying something totally unrelated. this is bad!

we shouldn't compare who's more oppressed, but rather recognize the issues within our community. for example, i didn't bring up transfems once in my post about transandrophobia and yet someone commented about it. i cannot and will not speak on transfem issues, especially when my post is about my own experiences with being a black transsexual man.

tl;dr: it's almost like it shouldn't be who is more oppressed and it never should be transmascs vs transfems. we need to be united, especially more than ever because of what's going on in the world

i've been on testosterone for nearly 6 months (years 1st will be 6 months) and after reflecting, it's like it was my destiny to start it.

i was outted at a doctor's appointment, more so my mom finally realizing i was trans at a routine checkup, and everything fell into place there. i really thought my doctor sent me to a conversation therapist or something when we made an appointment with an adolescent doctor. it was so funny and exciting. i stated medicine that stopped my period, got a gender dysphoria diagnosis, and on july 1st, 2024, i started testosterone and on february 10th, 2025, i will have my top surgery consultation

i say all this because, genuinely, if my mom didn't realize i was trans that day, i don't know where i would've been now. it literally saved my life through and through and im happy im slowly becoming the little man dyke i imagined myself like 7 years ago. the fact people want to take this away from transgender people is appalling and murder. it is a killing us, making our mental health horrible, stressing us out. the fact that those people want to take hrt away from us do not understand the joy, transgender joy from getting gendered correctly in public to affirming your gender through medical, physical, or social means, they will never understand it, they're scared and afraid of it, so they want to control us

legislation, laws, and transphobia will never make us go away. me, like many people, transition still under this stress because we are PROUD of who we are. no lawmaker or government will stop that. EVER. stay strong through these times.
