they've erased mentions of LGBTQ on government websites and removed pages related to honoring nex benedict and matthew shepard, like they never existed. we know they existed though and we need to keep both nex benedict and matthew shepard's names alive and remember what horrible violence and hate crime took them away from us.

the trump administration is now removing every mention of transgender americans in legislation, now having "lgb" instead of "lgbtq" or "lgbt" on government websites. additionally, the defense intelligence agency has "banned" anything related to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. this includes: juneteenth, mlk day, black history month, holocaust day of remembrance, pride month, and more.

obviously, let's state the two obvious:

1. despite being REMOVED by the government, trans people in america still exist. we will not be struck down because of an attempt to be removed from official documents. we still exist, breathe, and will continue to live our lives no matter what.

2. just because this administration and those complicit attempt to "remove" these initiatives from our calendars, they aren't just days or months in the year that the government can just wipe away. they represent something larger than the government; a community coming together to remember, honor, and respect what it represents. no legislation, no order, no nothing can take that meaning away.

do not be put down by what we're witnessing. again, learn, be informed, and make change. we have a voice and we're allowed to protest, disagree, and riot against the system. fuck the trump administration and everyone who is complicit with them. you are our enemy.

trump has signed a lot of executive orders, this includes the one i mentioned previously about establishing the binary in america, that there are only "two genders recognized under american law: male and female." with the additional fact of taxpayer dollars could not go to "transitional services."

he also signed 11 immigration related executive orders, including "declaring a national emergency as it relates to the southern border, redefining the term birthright citizenship, clarifying the military’s role in border security, suspending refugee resettlement, ending asylum and closing the border for asylum seekers, restarting title 42, and ending the catch and release policy for mexico."

on top of this, he pardoned over 1,500 january 6th defendants and ordered the release of all january 6th defendants tonight.

the trump administration has put out an executive order that would ban trans care to those 18 and under. this ban is defined as: "puberty blockers, including GnRH agonists and other interventions, to delay the onset or progression of normally timed puberty in an individual who does not identify as his or her sex; the use of sex hormones, such as androgen blockers, estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone, to align an individual’s physical appearance with an identity that differs from his or her sex; and surgical procedures that attempt to transform an individual’s physical appearance to align with an identity that differs from his or her sex or that attempt to alter or remove an individual’s sexual organs to minimize or destroy their natural biological functions."

when this came out, an irl friend dmed me regarding my transition and if this would affect it. he's a cis, straight, white man with more privilege then i could see, yet he still cared enough to check on me. you can be privileged in society and still care about trans people, but these fucking monsters refuse to acknowledge our existence and is afraid of it, so they try to regulate us.

this has been the most stressful few days ever for me. i've been witnessing live my rights get snatched from me, on top of the fact my top surgery consultation is in 11 days. eleven.

my endocrinologist is swamped with appointments, i can't get bloodwork done nor my dose upped until june and im terrified i won't be able to get my affirming care. they are actively stopping affirming care at adolescent and children hospitals and care as we speak, including in my state. my adolescent doctor said i can continue care as normal and i haven't heard anything from them saying they will be stopping affirming care, but it's still fucking terrifying.

i can admit that my talks of standing up for ourselves and being strong during these times were for both you and me. i need that message more than ever and yet im stricken with fear, unsure where to go next. i genuinely need an outlet or something but i don't know. everything is so uncertain, terrifying, but yet, hopeful and grateful.

im grateful to those practices who have stood up and won't remove affirming care because of an executive order, which will most likely shut down in court if going through. im grateful for people reporting on this live, keeping the rest of us informed with clear and truthful news. im hopeful because despite everything, these are tactics for those to be stricken with fear. while i am fearful of not being able to take my life saving medicine, i am hopeful for the future and hopeful that those in government will listen to the outcry, protest, riot, and unhappiness with the public. fuck the trump administration, trans rights are human rights.

one of my posts (which is a free block list. go crazy man) absolutely exploded and i tagged things related to trump. it hit the wrong side of tumblr and now every time i post something, trumpies attack me, my character, or the posts itself. im not phased by it, though. it's nazis being transphobic and their closed minded self. not understand intersex people exist, being transgender is not a mental illness, etc.

transandrophobia, transmisandry, or anti-transmasculinity, whatever you call it or prefer to say what it is. i'll just say transandrophobia for the sake of simplicity.

transandrophobia as a concept is simple: trans men suffer from discrimination due to being transgender and transitioning into men. people do not agree with this because of men's privilege in society and the fact that trans men are "transitioning into privilege," they do not suffer discrimination. this is untrue, definitely. i believe that white trans men DO have privilege of some sort — they are white in a world dominated by white people and if fully transitioned, they could have privilege and a lot more protection than poc and black trans men.

as a black transsexual myself, transandrophobia affects me outside and inside my community. not only from cis men and women, but transmasculine people, especially my white counterparts. therefore, the reason i've come up with for some thinking transandrophobia isn't a real issue is due some white transmascs using our culture for their identity and not recognizing that black individuals and people of color fought for the rights we have today. white people have privilege in our society and culturally appropriating black people and not recognizing their accomplishments for trans and queer people is horrible and when white trans men do it, it gives the rest of us a bad look. we DO suffer from transandrophobia, but due to white privilege in the world, people think otherwise.

i don't think white trans men are excluded from transandrophobia, in fact, trans men discrimination is real as ever and gets worse throughout the years, but it's unnoticed by most due to societal expectations of men. we should recognize the white privilege from white transmasculines, but we need to also recognize the fact that transandrophobia is real. an issue that is ignored despite us suffering from transphobia and transandrophobia throughout our day to day lives, despite some white transmasculines entitlement to other cultures and ignorance to history.
