Old Sacramento remains one of the largest grouping of gold rush era buildings in California. The historic Schroth building on Second Street is one of the few original brick buildings that is still standing from the 1800s. The side of the building used to display an original undisturbed Boss of the Road overalls advertising mural. It was the first thing that caught your eye when you drove into the town. Found these pre-1940's Boss of the Road overalls and did a little digging on the label. We found an article in #sfgate about an interesting rivalry between them and Levi Strauss: Lynn Downey, historian for Levi's, says there was a good reason for that ferocious bulldog on the Boss of the Road ads. It was for the same reason that the Levi's logo featured a pair of jeans in the middle of a tug-of-war between two powerful horses. "At that time, not everyone spoke English," Downey said. "So you ended up navigating through symbols. The reason you made your logo look so rough and tough is to demonstrate how tough the product is." #denimhistory #bossoftheroad

ENDRIME PRESENTS: "How to Sew a Continuous Fly" For the past 2 years - The Continuous Fly has become apart of our DNA, as we use it on ALL our denim and chino pant styles. Check out the video here, of one of our denim master sewers -walking through the construction: http://vimeo.com/112071455 - The Continuous Fly was invented by David Neustadter and he was able to patent his design on 30th October, 1877. The Neustadter Brothers in San Francisco manufactured the "Boss of the Road" overalls as early as late 1850's. This sewing method is very hard to master, and only appeals to a small minority. But it's so much better and cleaner and most if all STRONGER !
