Explanation of the Bose Soundbar
The Bose Soundbar is a high-quality audio device designed to enhance the sound experience of TVs, movies, music, and gaming. Bose is known for its focus on clarity, depth, and immersive sound, and their soundbars reflect this with advanced technologies. Here's a breakdown of key features and components of a typical Bose Soundbar:
1. Design
Bose soundbars have a sleek and minimalist design, often with a slim profile that can fit under most TVs or be mounted on the wall.
They come in different sizes to match room dimensions, and some models are designed to blend seamlessly with modern home entertainment setups.
2. Audio Performance
Crisp Dialogue: Bose soundbars enhance dialogue clarity, making it easier to hear voices and conversations clearly in movies and TV shows.
Wide Soundstage: Some models, like the Bose Soundbar 700, provide a wide soundstage, making the sound feel as if it’s coming from multiple directions, even without surround speakers.
Deep Bass: The soundbar itself provides rich bass, and for even deeper bass, it can be paired with Bose's wireless subwoofers (e.g., Bose Bass Module 500 or 700).
3. Voice Control and Smart Features
Built-in Alexa/Google Assistant: Many Bose soundbars include built-in voice assistants like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, allowing users to control the soundbar and other smart devices with their voice.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Connectivity: They support both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for streaming music from various devices such as smartphones, tablets, and PCs.
Multi-room Audio: With Bose's proprietary app (Bose Music), users can control soundbars and sync audio across multiple Bose smart speakers in different rooms.
4. Customizable Audio
ADAPTiQ Technology: This feature customizes the sound based on the room’s size, shape, and furnishings. It optimizes the audio to match the acoustics of the room, enhancing the listening experience.

Jumin Week
Day Six: Philautia
With you being away for the weekend, Jumin had the penthouse to himself. Naturally, he kept himself busy with work and Elizabeth the Third, but there was a glaring you-shaped hole missing… and it was getting harder to ignore.
Moving to the small, peach-colored Bose speaker, Jumin smiled fondly. Memories of you dancing wildly or delicately filled his mind — he chuckled as he recalled a spin you had been trying to master, only to land on the bed, couch, or his arms as you toppled over.
Running his fingers through the indented play button, he tilted his head. Surely, you wouldn’t mind him using your stereo…? Or listening to your Spotify playlist?
Jumin opened the account, album covers of Disney, true crime podcasts, and unfamiliar Japanese and Korean artists littering the screen. Eyes softening, he opened the playlist you created — the image you chose being of a wide-eyed Elizabeth the Third looking cluelessly and cutely towards the camera.
Jumin coughed back a laugh; 100 hours and 8 minutes worth of music you enjoyed.
Hm.
Looking back down at your speaker, he pressed the on button, familiar green and blue lights illuminating it. Immediately connecting through Bluetooth, a song boomed throughout the penthouse —
Scaring the absolute shit out of him. Scrambling to turn it down, Jumin closed his eyes and let out a huff.
If you were here, he wouldn’t hear the end of it. He could already imagine your endless laughing.
“Why she insists on turning this thing all the way up is beyond me.” With a sharp click of his tongue, he glanced at the song playing on his phone. “TiK… ToK. Tick tock. I wonder if this Kesha knows the title of her song is spelt wrong.”
With great caution, Jumin turned the volume up on your speaker. A catchy pop-bop filled his ears, but he was still… apprehensive with this kind of music. While your personality shined through catchy diddy’s and endless repetition, Jumin preferred a calmer tone. Light jazz, even scat if he was feeling adventurous.
Turning the music up a little more, he began to understand the appeal. Bobbing his head and patting his thigh with his hand to the beat, he felt himself begin to relax. It felt like you were home, just around the corner, shouting the lyrics you dedicated to memory.
Swaying his hips loosely and relaxing his arms, allowing them to sway naturally to the beat of the music, Jumin smiled. He was only taught formal forms of dance, never something as spontaneous as this. Spreading his legs wider, Jumin grabbed and threw his jacket to the couch. Feet tapping against the floor, he took a chance and started to move around the way you would — toes barely touching the floor, arms up and out to the side, hair madly swooshing in different directions.
He felt ridiculous, but free. Gaining more momentum, Jumin started hopping to the intoxicating rhythm, his long legs skipping from the kitchen to the living room. The small smile on his lips was so much bigger now; he made giddy sounds he had never made before, squeaking in his adrenaline and laughing loudly.
Body glistening with sweat, Jumin slid his tie from around his neck and shot his arm into the air, waving the tie while moving his hips from side to side. Spotting his reflection in the window, his laughter only grew, filling the penthouse with a noise it hadn’t known from him.
Now he understood why you did this everyday!
Pushing the door open with your knee, you set your luggage down and twisted your backpack off your shoulders. The blaring music instantly alerted you. “Jumin? Sweetheart?”
“Tick tock, on the clock, but the party don’t stop, no. OH, WHOA, WHOA OH.”
You clapped your hand over your mouth, muffling a laugh. That was definitely the voice of your husband.
Peeking your head around the corner, your mouth fell in amused bewilderment. Jumin’s elegant figure was no more as he stood thrusting his hips, shaking his butt, and waving his arms to music only you listened to in this relationship. You couldn’t help it; raising your phone, you snapped a quick picture of him…
The click alerting him instantaneously.
Spinning around, hair wet from his sweat, his body tensed. “Darling…!”
Wiggling your fingers, you shined your largest smile his way. “Hi ~!”
While he slammed his hand repeatedly onto the speaker to turn it off to no avail, you ran to him and wrapped your arms around his waist. Jumin hesitantly wrapped an arm around you, very aware of how sweaty he was. “Welcome… home, what is wrong with this speaker.”
You lowered the volume and buried your chin in his chest. “I see you enjoyed yourself while I was away!”
Jumin blushed deeply, his ears ringing. “Darling, it’s not what it looks like.”
“Oh, I think it’s exactly what it looks like.” Pushing his matted bangs back, you gripped his hand. “Don’t be embarrassed! Come on, Mister Fancy Pants! Show me what you can do!”
Jumin beamed, pressing his warm and wet lips against yours. And as you led him to a wider space, the drowning music filling his ears and you before his eyes, there was no better place to be.

NCT 127 Reaction to Catching S/O Jamming to Their Songs
Taeil:
You remember when Taeil was nervous about their comeback with “Simon Says”. The sound was completely experimental and he feared it wouldn’t receive positive feedback. You reassured him that this comeback would be a success (it obviously was) and months later still dance to the song. It currently plays from your Bose speakers and reaches its best part: Haechan’s vocals followed by Taeil’s. You lip-sync his high note and continue dancing to the song, trying to nail the choreography to the best of your abilities. Taeil smiles amusedly at your efforts and is glad he has your constant support for his music.
Johnny:
You're sleeping soundly until you get an early call from Johnny saying he's stopping by a café first to bring you breakfast. You mumble out an incoherent response and hang up trying to catch a few extra minutes of sleep. Ten minutes later, your alarm clock blares out the tune of "Cherry Bomb". You groan and shove your head under the pillow knowing it's no use going back to sleep.
Going through your morning routine, the song stays stuck in your head and you can't help singing softly. Minutes later, you're doing the entire choreography in your pajamas. Johnny opens your front door and catches you doing the move to Cherry Bomb (yeah THAT move). He wants to laugh so badly but holds it in so you don't notice his presence. You know you didn't exactly execute the move correctly, but you don't care because it's all for fun anyways. Once the song finishes, he starts clapping and cheering loudly which makes you jump. You sigh in relief once your heart beat stabilizes and punch him in the arm for scaring you.
Taeyong:
Taeyong had to stay behind at SM to do more recordings for the upcoming album. You consider this an advantage and start cleaning up your closet with Spotify playing in the background. A few songs play but don’t capture your attention because you’re too busy contemplating between donating some sweatshirts or jeans. Suddenly, “Whiplash” starts playing and you audibly gasp because that. is. your. BOP.
You fling your sweatshirts and jeans aside and do a full-on impromptu performance in front of the mirror. The music completely consumes your senses as you dance around the room yelling, “Long ass ride!” You don’t make it through the entire song though because Taeyong comes home curious to the music playing from your room and stands there in stunned silence. You acknowledge his shocked expression and simply shrug, “It’s a certified bop, Tae.”
Yuta:
Yuta has been practicing a lot the past two weeks in preparation for their upcoming tour dates. After his rehearsal from today, he races to your place because he finds comfort in your presence (and you have a comfy couch but he won’t dare admit that). You happily welcome him and prepare some snacks in the kitchen before walking back over to the living room and seeing him sound asleep on your couch. Smiling at his peaceful face, you search for a spare blanket and place it over him before returning to your room.
Taking advantage of the silence, you bound to your desk and try completing some assignments with your playlist on shuffle. “Chain” plays out of nowhere and it takes everything in you not to scream and grab Yuta to beg him for more dance lessons. To avoid waking him up from his slumber, you softly sing along while jotting down some notes. Yuta stirs awake at the music and peers over at you from the couch, smiling to himself hearing your attempts to sing in Japanese.
Doyoung:
Today was an incredibly long day and all you wanted to do was unwind with some music and snacks. You hate to admit it, but you've been missing Doyoung a lot lately. Scrolling through your endless playlist, you plop down on the couch and finally settle on "Sun & Moon" because you love the tenderness of his voice in this specific track. You start singing along and eventually the stresses from your day melt away. Little did you know, Doyoung planned to surprise you at your place and enters through the front door listening to you sing his lines. He silently admires you from afar to avoid disturbing your jam session.
Jaehyun:
Jaehyun invites you to the set of a photoshoot for NCT. He promises to spend the rest of the day with you if you wait around for him. Of course you said yes. Who can resist those dimples? Patiently waiting for the shoot to end, you stroll around in the back listening to “Touch”. You can’t help but start mimicking the moves to yourself without calling too much attention. You’re in your own little world until you lock eyes with Jaehyun and realize he saw the entire thing. Cringing to yourself, you pull out your earbuds and tuck them away in your jacket pocket. He grins at you while his hair and makeup get retouches and laughs, “Well don’t stop now because of me!”
Winwin:
Sicheng loves how much you support him and NCT. You constantly praise the group and enthusiastically list off your favorite songs every time 127 invites you out for dinner. That night, you had a little too much of Mark’s “apple juice” so Sicheng decides to drive you home. Helping you enter the front door, you gasp dramatically and utter, “You look just like my boyfriend Sicheng. He’s in an amazing group called NCT 127. Look! Let me show you my favorite song.”
You mildly stumble over to your laptop where Spotify is already open from your previous listening session and play “Limitless”. Swearing you are the coolest person on the earth, you start busting out moves and singing along like you’re a part of the music video. He shamelessly records you on his phone from his seat, but you don’t even notice because you’re too involved in the music. Whenever he is away doing promotions and misses you, he pulls up the video and smiles to himself thinking how lucky he is to have a goofball like you in his life.
Jungwoo:
You wanted to surprise Jungwoo by waiting for him in the practice room. You catch up with social media and watch some Youtube videos to kill time. You decide to watch “Regular” and try practicing some of the moves on your own. Might as well use this opportunity of the spacious practice room! Focusing hard on mastering the dance, you don’t even realize much time has passed. After practicing a couple more times, you lay on the floor covered in light sweat and huff out tiredly.
Jungwoo suddenly appears from above with a surprised and confused look. You sit up and accept the water bottle in his hand. “What are you doing here?” he questions with a slight chuckle. “I was waiting around for you and then kinda got distracted trying to kill time. How did you manage to learn the previous dances for 127 and Regular in such a short time?” He playfully shrugs his shoulders and replies, “It was so easy!”
Mark:
Your relationship with Mark is fun and super light-hearted. However, you refuse to let him see your terrible dance moves when he's a literal dancing machine. The man puts you to shame whenever you see him practicing for a comeback. Your latest guilty pleasure is NCT 127's collab with Lay and Jason Derulo. Since Mark isn't home, you turn up the speakers and blast the song through your apartment while letting loose.
However, Mark arrives shortly and witnesses your chaotic dancing and singing. He can't help letting out a laugh and you turn around mortified. "Wow you're really loving the collab, babe," he teases with a smirk. You love teasing Mark back and decide to turn the tables on him. Singing louder than before and moving your body all around, you belt out, "Jamaican girls wanna blow it down. My Asian girls wanna work it out. Turn around, don't talk-". He stares at you in shock and gets all shy before cutting you off, "Okayyyyy time to go grab some dinner!" He turns off the speakers and drags you out the front door hoping you'll stop singing once you're both outside.
Haechan:
Haechan begged you for a karaoke night for weeks so you finally cave in and promise to go out tonight. Doing your usual routine, you pick out your best clothes and mildly dance or sing along to whatever song plays from your phone on the nightstand. “Good Thing” comes on and that puts you in the perfect mood. Styling your hair proves to be difficult because you can’t stop grooving to the music.
You finally finish getting ready for the date and pretend to sing in the mirror using your brush handle. As the song ends, you strike a dramatic pose and see Haechan silently judging you in the doorway from the reflection in the mirror. “I hope you stay this happy when I score higher than you during karaoke,” he taunts in your direction. You spin around and raise an eyebrow, “Challenge accepted, babe.”

1.Bose 201 Direct/Reflecting speakers- Hi Fi System
This leads to a richer and nicer quality of noise. It is available in a strong plastic casing with a slick design, which adds to its appearance. In low to moderate quantity, it is simple to listen to some clearer version of audio with no type of distortion. These speakers may not function better in large volumes than low to medium amounts. Though if you're classical music enthused it might give fairly great worth to your cash. This hi fi method of speakers may efficiently distribute sound all around the space instead of giving sound into only 1 direction. This quality isn't so common among other versions of speakers and this is sometimes a cure all classical music fans. Though this comes up in a really compact-able size it's surprisingly two inches of the tweeter and 6.5 inches of this motorist. Its speaker is capable of handling sound around 60 W Power.
2. KEF LS50 Mini Monitor- Best Speakers For Music
The best speakers for audio have a broad frequency ranges from 79 Hz to 28 kHz. Therefore they have a unique mechanism that helps to boost its resonance, the delivery of audio doesn't affect but stays clear and crisp. Hereby you are inclined to receive a deep ambiance of classical music. In these remarkable and numerous qualities, they do not come very cheap. The prices are higher but the outcome speaks for itself. That is why those pairs are quite common among professionals, and especially among classical music lovers. Do not judge these small best speakers for songs by its own size. It may perform much better than its own size. They are rather popular among studios because of the throw that they provide to noise. The secret behind this powerful sound is the special arrangement of these, which makes them produce a sound so impact.

After 50 years, experiment finally shows energy could be extracted from a black hole
https://sciencespies.com/physics/after-50-years-experiment-finally-shows-energy-could-be-extracted-from-a-black-hole/
After 50 years, experiment finally shows energy could be extracted from a black hole
A 50-year-old theoretical process for extracting energy from a rotating black hole finally has experimental verification.
Using an analogue of the components required, physicists have shown that the Penrose process is indeed a plausible mechanism to slurp out some of that rotational energy – if we could ever develop the means.
That’s not likely, but the work does show that peculiar theoretical ideas can be brilliantly used to explore the physical properties of some of the most extreme objects in the Universe.
Black holes are wild – the end stage of the life cycle of a star so massive that, once it’s gone supernova, the core can no longer withstand its own gravity and collapses totally into a singularity – a single one-dimensional point of infinite density.
This singularity sits inside a region called the event horizon – the point at which the gravity around the black hole is so strong, not even light-speed is sufficient to achieve escape velocity. And outside the event horizon, an extended region of space-time becomes twisted as it’s dragged along with the black hole’s rotation, an effect called frame-dragging.
This is where the Penrose process comes in. In 1969, mathematical physicist Roger Penrose proposed that a region just outside the event horizon called the ergosphere, where frame-dragging is at its strongest, could be exploited to extract energy.
According to Penrose’s calculations, if an object dropped into the ergosphere were to split in two, one part would be flung beyond the event horizon.
The other, however, would be accelerated outwards, with an additional kick from the black hole. If everything went just right, it would emerge from the ergosphere with around 21 percent more energy than it entered with.
Now, we can’t just nip over to a black hole to test this out. But in 1971, Soviet physicist Yakov Zel’dovich proposed a more practical experiment. You could replace the black hole with a rotating metal cylinder, and fire twisted beams of light at it. If the cylinder was rotating at just the right speed, the light would be reflected back with additional energy extracted from the cylinder’s rotation, due to a quirk in something called the rotational Doppler effect.
If you’re a regular reader, you might already be familiar with said effect: It can be seen when a rotating source emits waves, which shorten and lengthen depending on the direction of the rotation. The waves from the side that’s rotating towards you will appear to shorten; waves from the side that’s rotating away appear to lengthen. This is how astronomers can gauge the rotations of stars and galaxies.
There was just one problem with Zel’dovich’s proposal. The speed of the rotating cylinder would need to be at least 1 billion rotations per second – remember, there’s still a lot of room for impracticality in “more practical than a black hole”.
So there the matter sat – until a team of physicists from the University of Glasgow’s School of Physics and Astronomy in Scotland came along. They devised an experiment based on Zel’dovich’s work – but instead of using light waves, they used sound waves.
The experiment. (Cromb et al., Nature Physics, 2020)
The experiment consisted of a ring of speakers set up to introduce a twist in the sound waves, analogous to the twisted light in Zel’dovich’s experiment. The ‘black hole’ was a rotating sound absorber made out of a foam disc, the rotation of which would speed up as the sound waves hit it. An array of microphones on the other side of the disc would detect the sound waves after they had passed through the disc.
The smoking gun that would verify the Penrose process was a shift in pitch and amplitude in the sound waves that passed through the disc.
“The twisted sound waves change their pitch when measured from the point of view of the rotating surface,” explained physicist and astronomer Marion Cromb of the University of Glasgow, lead author on the team’s paper.
“If the surface rotates fast enough then the sound frequency can do something very strange – it can go from a positive frequency to a negative one, and in doing so steal some energy from the rotation of the surface.”
The results were amazing. As the disc’s rotation accelerated, the pitch of the sound hitting the microphones lowered until it was inaudible. Then it began to rise again back to the original pitch – but 30 percent louder than the sound coming from the speakers. The sound waves were picking up additional energy from the rotating disc.
(University of Glasgow)
“What we heard during our experiment was extraordinary,” Cromb said.
“What’s happening is that the frequency of the sound waves is being doppler-shifted to zero as the spin speed increases. When the sound starts back up again, it’s because the waves have been shifted from a positive frequency to a negative frequency. Those negative-frequency waves are capable of taking some of the energy from the spinning foam disc, becoming louder in the process – just as Zel’dovich proposed in 1971.”
The team plans to try to figure out how to extend this research to electromagnetic waves – light – but this research is a pretty awesome step forward in understanding black holes. It shows how their extreme properties can be probed in laboratory settings if you have the right tools – and they needn’t always be fancy, high-tech Bose-Einstein condensates.
Research such as this could also lead to new technologies, if a way can be devised to harness this fascinating phenomenon.
“We’re thrilled to have been able to experimentally verify some extremely odd physics a half-century after the theory was first proposed,” said physicist Daniel Faccio of the University of Glasgow.
“It’s strange to think that we’ve been able to confirm a half-century-old theory with cosmic origins here in our lab in the west of Scotland, but we think it will open up a lot of new avenues of scientific exploration.”
The research has been published in Nature Physics.
