I'm going to have a hard time saying anything about this one, it was super boring! The Byakugan plot line goes exactly where you think it would from last episode; and the Kagemasa fight was clunkily animated and choreographed, and pretty underwhelming.

The highlight of this episode was probably seeing that Boruto's family is close with the Hyuga, though that won't really come up much later. It's nice to see Naruto and Hiashi on good terms, even if I wish we'd gotten to see how that happened a bit more.

Sarada also got a little bit of screentime and a bit of a character beyond Boruto's catty nemesis, but her time was brief and underwhelming. She could have been traded out for just about anyone and very little would have changed in the story. It was probably just to call back the Fuma Shuriken plan from when Naruto and Sasuke did it in the Land of Waves Arc, and it was not worth it.

If you have to watch this, watch the Hanabi vs Boruto fight and then skip on everything else. Despite having a cool episode name, it was definitely not worth watching again.

Why are the children more intelligent than the adults on this show?

Naruto's sullen face on the cliff is fucked up. Make him smile over the village, dammit.

The clan kids all being in one class feels like nepotism bullshit and shino being their teacher despite being a terrible teacher also feels like nepotism bullshit

I don't like how people talk to and about naruto, he's more an idea than a person and that makes me extremely sad

God, hinata didn't really have a personality before but now it's 100% "Naruto's wife". Sad.

You can tell things have changed in konoha bc they didn't immediately jump at the chance to send a child to ninja prison forever

Making naruto miss his hokage ceremony feels really fucked up somehow. Like it's to show his maturity in not caring but why don't the writers ever let naruto have nice things?

Koji says the Biggest advantage of this Shinjutsu Ability is it’s Intel, for example Boruto’s Life on the Run, Could Prevent him from ending up Cornered like earlier, and he could teach Present him, Move’s and Jutsu Future Him has Mastered, and would Accelerate Learning and Optimise Training, he can do this Because there’s no Timeline Paradox, Since he’s only Replaying what he saw, and it’s totally Standard Procedure for Prescience, and also tell Boruto how to Rescue Sasuke from his Tree, and Tells Boruto about the very Worst Future that’s Possible Right now, 10 Tails will Break Free of Code’s Control, and Evolve in a New Way, and they will show up before them as Multiple Divine Tree People, Who possess individual Minds, and to prevent it is low, in all Future’s he sees them, and the Leader Jura is the Most Dangerous, he is going to kill Boruto, it’s not absolute but many Future’s show it happening, then what follow’s is similar Kawaki gets devoured and Their Planet dies, they can’t let this happen and their are infinite Possible future’s and through him Learning about this now, there Future has already started to Change One tick at a Time.

Boruto asks Koji why not tell everyone everything he see that happens in future, Koji says the more people that know it, the more the nature of that future will change, once you know a future, you can no longer act the same as before you knew, instead it will branch in complex ways, making it even more difficult to predict, to the point of completely negating the advantage of foreseeing the future via Prescience, for better or worse to know the future, leads to the act of destroying it, and in particular the more futures you know, the greater you diverge from the track called fate, and become a singularity a heretical existence, which makes the future unstable, so its better for most folks to not know anything, for things to proceed towards a good future, and the duty of we singularities of fate, is to aid the paths to good futures from the shadows, Him, Boruto and Eida have become a Singularity of Fate.

I share the same sentiments with you! It was great to see that they added that new baby Boruto flashback scene with first time parents NH, but the entire episode did feel something lacking.

I was under the impression (there were hints about it that I saw somewhere before) that the episode would be somewhat similar to how it was during the Kurama episode, but I kinda... Didn't feel that?

I wasn't alone in watching that episode btw, and we had expressed that there was something missing in the overall feel of the episode. We were like, watching another regular episode for Boruto... Sure the animation was great, the fight scenes were well-executed, and the end part with Kawaki and Boruto was a good way to finish the series, but the emotions? Especially while Naruto was still holding on to Boruto, in complete denial of what happened... I was like - detached, neutral towards the whole thing.

And I know it's not because we already knew what was coming - we're all manga readers - we knew what was going to happen to Kurama but the emotions felt during the parts they were reminiscing had a lot of impact. Comparing that to the Boruto finale, well... Idk... I'm not even sure if I'm explaining this properly lol

Born I just started feeling uneasy and afraid that I might be a partypooper because of the tags I wrote, especially to you Born since you were the OP of the post. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable of what I said because everybody seems to enjoy the entirety of the episode (which is great! how long has it been since we hear good news from the Boruto episode?) Beats me.

But I'm relieved now that you felt the same way! If compared to Kurama's farewell, YES I AGREE WITH YOU!!!?!! We knew what's gonna happen and we just needed to sit back and watch how they'd execute the scene and I was literally crying and sobbing and choking on my breath even after a while I finished the ep of Kurama's farewell. It was so heartfelt and they absolutely did the scene justice! Even until now, I still feel a clench in my chest whenever I play the outro of that episode because it'd ALWAYS flood me with nostalgia of the feelings I felt when I watched it.

I was kinda expecting, nah, I really put my expectations high for this ep as well and maybe that's what makes it even more.....dare I say, disappointing? (no offense to those who enjoy the ep! your feelings are valid!!!)

My expectations skyrocketed once I saw the opening scenes of Naruto's core memories of baby Boruto and I was reaaaaally anticipating to see those glimpses come to life in the actual episode, with longer version, deeper flasback, and a profound heartfelt scenes!!!! Even when I was fascinated by the fight scenes, my mind would alway wonder "where's it? where's Naruto and (dead)Boruto? where's their moment and the flasbacks?????"

But then suddenly he got revived and I was like, "that's it?????????" 😭

I don't know...........it felt like....... everything just happened in a flash......too fast......like they rushed it to fit the 24minutes of the ep......like there's not enough time...... Even after finishing the ep, I was like, "where's my tears????????"

Nothing is stopping SP to go all out with the ep, like, wasn't it the finale of part 1????? I expect we'd get some blow in the guts with the ep hahahahahs that's (maybe) where I made my mistake. 😀

But my mami Hinata looked so good in the opening scene and for me it's their redeeming point lolol (though you must have also noticed the inconsistency of her hair? lol)

So that's my conclusion of the entire ep. I love love the opening and the ending, but the middle of the ep feels like it was lacking something....idk how to properly address this but I'm sure you understand what I mean😀❤️

Well the 4 "remake episodes" are actually 4 brand new episodes,so basically a mini filler arc,but also the writer of the episodes are Honda and he has a history of pissing off Sakura fans because he writes SS as they are. For example,the Boruto episode where Sarada is out with Sakura and asking why she is upset at Sasuke for just leaving them,and Sakura says if she worried everytime he did that,she'd have a heart attack or something. That was Honda and it pissed Sakura stans off so much they were making death threats and wanted Honda is a body bag.

I hope he writes SasuSaku as they are then just so SasuSaku fans don't get there way and give Hinata some spotlight.

I think the 4 eps should be Minato one shot, a NaruHina ep, a Sasuke ep and a Konoha 12 ep.

Assuming that by original Naruto it means part 1 otherwise I would want one of the eps to be about Taka/Hebi can you image SasuSaku fans reactions if one of the eps was about Sasuke's team with no Sakura in it at all.

Boruto ep.1-15 review

This arc has a lot of things that are happening. 1 you see boruto entering the academy and getting introduced to all these characters. And seeing he’s relationship with he’s father. 2 we get to see sumire backstory vs in the manga sumire doesnt show up in the manga until chapter 18 pg.98. Now they haven’t shared Mitsuki back story in the anime but we see Mitsuki going thru the process of watching and trying to understand boruto and finding the conclusion that boruto is he’s sun.While vs in the manga Boruto sadara and mitsuki are all in a team and are already taking part in the chunin exam. And at the end of the manga of volume one we get mitsuki backstory. That is and done by complete written and drawn by masashi kishimoto. Which starts at Pg.161 Naruto:The path Lit By the Full Moon. I like how they are showing mitsuki meeting boruto and sumire like this vs the manga. It shows how close those people are to boruto.3rdly We see boruto skill set how he already master shadow clones before the academy and learn small things about he’s jougen eye which was said to be the star of hope by toneri Otsutsuki and that he is the key. We see that boruto can see chakra with this eye and at the end of the arc we see that Boruto was able to see he’s friends outside the dimension calling for him and when the portal dimension closed on him he punched a hole and opened up the dimension once more to get back home. I give this arc a 8/10. This arc may not seem important now but later on it will tie together nicely.

*I wouldn’t call this arc strictly filler arc even tho it is.It has to much importance to be quickly written off like that its a good arc.this arc sets the tone for boruto,mituski and sumire friendship. this arc gives them more history more detail about their connection with one either vs in the manga.

its 1-15 I’m sorry I didn’t realize that episode 15 also plays a big part in the end of this arc a huge one in fact talking about jougen part won’t be happening for awhile and that and that the gate that Nue had opened has been sealed.And that this is only a temporary delay. And that they are setting us up for momoshiki and sasuke which is later.

KYOTO ANIMATION IS SO GOOD violet evergarden is soooo pretty and i love the plot + the soundtrack itself is lovely 🥹 i think it’s a really good example of how you can make people attached to characters in a very short time?? like at least for me personally i felt very impacted by each story of each episode even though it wasn’t anything overly complex or anything 🤔 it also has a really really good depiction of ptsd and the realities of war on a country and also on individuals!! amazing show i could go on forever about it

Gozu Tenno is also like a gateway or powerhouse for other beings aka Nue & Otsutsuki members. Could have lead to good dynamic between Kawaki & Sumire as seen in Manga CH 70 & Anime EP 293.

But the difference is Nue is like artificial man made ten tails which eats chakra just like ten tails/shinju clones while Sumire could control it as a summoning jutsu through blood contract plus Nue also loves her at the same times making a well synthesized coexisting bond.

While Momoshiki could overtake his vessel aka Boruto anytime unexpectedly if he is low on chakra. Kawaki is still Isshiki's vessel who could implant Karma into living body/clone to revive Amado's daughter (despite Isshiki's death through Karma stated by Amado).

Himawari is a Kyubi Biju herself just in human form as Kurama is reborn within her aka merging into one body unlike her dad Naruto's case so she doesn't have/need any seal mark on her body nor having to summon him out unlike Sumire's case. While Sumire uses Science VR + Kuchiyose Jutsu to guide & control him noticeably.

About Sumire being foil to Boruto & Kawaki, I think Sumire is still possibly considered as an artificial Jinchuriki like you said because she still remains major human part due to Nue still can act independently outside her guide sometimes in Jugo arc & EP 191.

Okay I'm assuming this is all the same anon so I'm going to put all my answer here. Going deeper into the potential for Sumire's wasted plot potential: 1) Love vs Reason Both Nue and the Otsutsuki are dangerous and hard to control, but for different reasons. Nue loves Sumire, true, but he's a chimera and can't be reasoned with. As we saw in the ep 191, Nue will disobey her orders if he thinks she's in danger. The Otsutsuki, on the other hand, have zero affection for their hosts...but they can be reasoned with. As we saw with Momoshiki, they can protect their hosts if it benefits them in the long run. So which is worse: a parasite that hates you but has valuable knowledge, or a loyal summon that solves all its problems by biting them? 2) The effects of chakra consumption When Nue consumes a person's chakra, they lose self-control and act on their repressed emotions. In other words, Nue's attacks unleash the victim's ego. But when the Otsutsuki consume chakra, they literally erase their host's ego. One process invites chaos, and the other enforces a rigid, alien idea of perfection.

3) The outcome of symbiosis Lastly, what's interesting to me is the outcome of symbiosis. Sumire essentially flipped her relationship with Nue on its head, going from a Trojan Horse host to Nue's pet parent. Boruto, meanwhile, is very constrained by the threat of Momoshiki's karma and is still the subordinate in their 'pact'. Honestly, I kind of hope Boruto goes against the grain of jinchuuriki and Sumire by completely purging Momoshiki rather than befriending him. But the plot's not up to me.

Ep. 18 | A Day in the Life of the Uzumaki Family

Another pretty nothing episode and it lacks the good characterization of the previous episode by spending more time focusing on what we already know. I feel like this episode may have been shuffled around in production order, because it reveals how Himawari activated her Byakugan after we already know she has it and establishes (sort of) how close Boruto and Naruto used to be. It shows off that Boruto has always been a little sassy and stand-off-ish with his dad, but that grew into resentment when Naruto became Hokage.

Even now, this episode shows that Naruto is capable of putting aside his work when he feels like he needs to, which is in contrast to Himawari's birthday episode that painted him in a really negative light (showing that he may not have considered Himawari's birthday to be important enough to show up in person for, but when she's truly in need, he will.) This is a hard characterization of Naruto for me to wrap my head around, since I would absolutely expect him to leave Shadow Clones at work during all important events in his family life since they're just as capable as he is. He can be in person for important work things, so why not the other way around?

It also makes me wonder why he doesn't leave Shadow Clones at home more often. I get that he's tired from all the work he's doing, but I feel like he should be able to have multiple Shadow Clones helping out with his paperwork and getting things done if he's as capable with them as he's always been shown to be. He underwent Sage Mode training in record time via training with his Shadow Clones, so I feel like this shouldn't be a stretch for him.

The only reason I'm able to think of such things is because not much happened in this episode, so there's not a lot to talk about! It gave a little more characterization to Himawari besides being the adorable little sister character for the older brother to protect, but aside from that, it's just a cute episode. Not one that I'd go back to and not one I think is vital to a rewatch, but cute enough.
