Boroline, The Self-Sufficient Cream - Review
Tumblr media
So I have been voted in the list of top 100 beauty bloggers by Feedspot (Top 100 Indian Beauty Blogs & Websites By Indian Beauty Bloggers) and to celebrate, I had to blog about something that has been in my shelf forever. A cream that has been my go-to since childhood days. Have you ever heard of a cream being passed through generations? If not, then you are going to hear about one here If you are a girl brought up in a Bengali household, there must be a tube of boroline lying somewhere in your shelf right now! Boroline is indeed the quintessential part of a “bongo konya’s” skincare routine. It is something that we have seen our mothers, our grandmothers and sometimes the male members of the family using too. And why not, it’s not just any ordinary cream, but it is a solution to most of our skin problems since childhood.

This iconic self-sufficient cream was a gift to the women of the nation by Gourmohan Dutta, a Bengali merchant in the year 1929. And till today it has it’s popularity and loyal users.- As for me… no matter how many foreign brand products gather in my shelf, but when it comes to dry lips, dry skin on the face, dry hands, elbow, feet, little wounds, scratches or any such skin issue, I reach out to my old friend… Boroline! And boroline is not just for dryness and wounds, it can be used in various ways for your skin. Here I have mentioned a few – Other than the very known uses like Softens dry chapped lipsSmoothen rough handsSmoothen rough elbow and abraded skinHeal cracked heelsSoften chronically dry, chapped, itchy skinHeals sunburns and scars

Other than these conventional uses, Boroline can be used in other ways too. Like – As a Night Cream –  No! not a daily night cream but on the few days when your skin is extremely dry and flaky, Boroline can do wonders overnight. Just apply on the affected areas and wake up to supple moisturized cream. As an Under-eye Cream – Those baggy under eyes and dark circles are a problem that you face… try boroline as under-eye cream for a few weeks and you shall be surprised by the difference. As a Handcream – Chuck buying those expensive hand creams and use boroline instead! Use as a Make-up Remover – If you are into heavy makeup and you have dry skin, boroline can be a really good makeup remover and at the same time, it will moisturize the skin. And if the cream is too thick for you just mix it with a little baby oil and it works absolutely great. As a Cuticle Softner - Want an effective cuticle softener for your fingernails and toes that also makes your nails healthier?! Just smear a little amount of boroline on the cuticles and massage gently. Do this every day at bedtime and you shall see a big difference. The best thing about this cream is that it is available in a tube and a tub and both are travel-friendly.

This was my little tribute to the boroline tube that has been passing on to me from my mom. Actually even now when she visits me, apart from all the yummy homemade snacks from home, there is also a tub of boroline all the way from home! So ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't heard or used this product yet, you should right now! And if all the above-mentioned uses and benefits still don't make you want to try it out... Then just think of a Bengali girl you know, remember her dark big eyes, beautiful hair and skin. Let me tell you her secret~~ She owes her beautiful eyes and hair to all the 'maach bhaat' and her beautiful skin to 'surovito antiseptic cream boroline'! And maybe... a little bit of genetics. ;-) Read the full article
