LDS Institute opening social brings the web indoors.

 The Logan LDS Institute is starting the semester off well. With a whole bunch of YouTube experts. On Friday, Jan. 20 at 6:45 p.m., it is hosting its annual opening social. This semester’s social is called the Social Media Share Expo and is packed full of interesting events.

Most notable are the guests who are coming to help out with social media activities. All of the guests are based in, or born in, Utah. They include, Stuart Edge, known on YouTube for pranks, magic tricks, flash mobs and street music performance; the Roberts family, better known as BoredShortsTV — the people behind the popular Kid History series; and Eclipse 6, a Logan-based a capella group started at Utah State University.

These YouTubers will be at the expo to present about “how they’ve used social media to bless others and share goodness” said the LDS Institute Facebook page about the event. 

There will be free pizza starting at 6:45 p.m., games and activities throughout the night, and chances to win prizes including TVs, Bluetooth headphones and Utah Jazz tickets. The night will end with a concert by Eclipse 6 starting at 8:45 p.m..

The LDS Institute invites anyone to attend and encourages students to bring friends.
