favorite music: Honestly, I think I can say that I listen mostly everything. I've come to the conclusion that I don't really care about the genre, if I like a song, I like it and that's about it. And that's why my playlist is a mess, especially when I put it on shuffle lmao

favorite movie(s): It's so hard to pick, there are so many good ones! But I recently watched Tokyo Godfathers, that one automatically jumped in my top favourites. I also really liked Grave of Fireflies (even though it's quite a heavy movie), Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, The Handmaiden (let's go lesbians, let's go), Perfect Blue, Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Jigsaw franchise (and honestly, I think the 10th movie might be my favourite), The Fear Street Trilogy, Coraline, What We Do In The Shadows, Train To Busan

Honorable mentions: I think Gremlins is starting to grow on me, especially the second movie because I love that the production team didn't take it all too seriously, I do like when some movies are self-aware how silly they actually are. Also shoutout to The Sadness. Am I ever going to watch that movie ever again? Probably not, it was a very disturbing movie. But this is not your usual zombie movie, if I can even call it a zombie movie, which surprised me? Like, it definitely does have those elements of the apocalyptic zombie genre but turned it completely over its head by making the infected actually aware of the things they're doing but not being able to stop it. Again, it is a disturbing movie, it's not for everybody. I personally don't see myself watching it twice. Plus, finding out that the director has said something like that he wanted to focus more on the "fun and the gore" other than anything else in a Q&A did sound quite sussy to me given the heavy topics and the ways the movie could be interpreted. Idk, as philology and literature major it just keeps getting confirmed to me that most, if not all works of art, no matter in what form, have something to say and they deeply reflect the time in which they were created, and there's always the subjectivity of the viewer who interprets it in their own way (like hell, even the superheroes in movies these days most likely take a whole lot of inspiration from Greek mythology, if you really think about it). Some people have mentioned that the director might have answered the way that he did as to not stir up controversy since it was at a festival, but I can't say for sure, I wasn't there to see the interview myself and this is already getting really long so I will stop now, you can make your own conclusions.

favorite series: Courage the cowardly dog, The Scooby-Doo franchise, Are You Afraid Of The Dark (I'm talking about the 90's series, I haven't watched the 2019 revival). Do I remember anything from them? Kind of, it's been a very long time since I've watched them. I kind of want to rewatch them because of it. But they sparked my interest in all things spooky when I was a kid so I feel like they deserve a place here. Some of my other favourites include: The Untamed, Serial Experiments Lain, Steins;Gate, Semantic Error, Another, My Roommate is a Detective, Wellington Paranormal, What We Do In The Shadows, Hellbound and Sweet Home (I do recommend reading the webtoons of those two, though), Death Parade, The Silent Sea, Color Rush, Squid Game, My Beautiful Man, Good Omens, Our Flag Means Death, Alice on Borderland, My Name, Yellowjackets, Theatre of Darkness: Yamishibai

last song: Ruler Of My Heart by BL8M & Rubyeye & Unknown (Till The End) by AKUGETSU (Alien Stage OSTs) (tw for blood and a bit of gory imagery in the MVs for anyone who wants to check them out). Also can I also just talk about the 1st Anniversary Remixes of those two songs too!!! (here and here, audio only). Just *cheff's kiss*, I love those songs so much, I want to eat them. The story all these animations is quite interesting, the animations themselves are very well done too. How can I describe it. The story kind of takes that deadly game trope (like, let's say in the Hunger Games and Alice in Borderland), but make it about people being forced to be in a singing competition against each other to survive and they are being judged by aliens. From what I know, I could be wrong, the main way of storytelling is through the MVs on the VIVINOS YT channel so it does require a bit to analyze (there is a bit of a additional info on the official website and on the wiki, I'm sure), so if any of that sound interest you, I would recommend checking it out

currently reading: So Long, And Thank for All The Fish from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books. I'm so happy of how much progress I've done on reading those books compiled in one huge book, I'm halfway through the series now. And honestly I want to read it for as long as I can because I really enjoy it, it's so fun, I love the absurd situation the main characters fall into while the big question of the meaning of life, the Universe and everything looms over them. This would definitely go in one of my top books I've read I'm sure.

And I also have to mention the webtoons that I'm reading because I love them very much too: Hand Jumper, The Blind Prince, Lore Olympus, Zombie X Slasher (I don't know in what kind of direction this one would go, but so far so good!), Everything is Fine, Flawed Almighty, Homesick (I love love LOVE this one! The art style and everything is great), Never Ending Darling (I know that it's gonna end in like 2 days officially once the last episode is available to read for free, but damn, what a ride this was. The concept of this webtoon is terrifying), Omniscient Reader, My S-Class Hunters, ZOMGAN (also quite an interesting and honestly refreshing way of making a story about zombies), Nocturne and The Guy Upstairs

And special highlight to: There Are No Demons. This webtoon? An absolute nightmare fuel. I find it very interesting that the artist Nemo Nullus makes 3D models first and then draws over them. I wasn't so sure how to feel like it when I first saw it, this was the first time I've seen anything like it on webtoon, but I quickly grew to like this art style, the kind of weird realism and uncanny valley really add to the stories. And the stories themselves are very scary because these are things that could actually happen, and have most likely happened in real life too, especially that first story with the stalker. This webtoon has made me feel things no other horror/thriller webtoon has made me feel, I feel like I want to crawl out of my own body when I'm reading it, really.

currently watching: Nothing in particular, just random YT videos. I do have some shows to catch up on that I already mentioned here.

currently working on: Mostly focusing on studying a bit more for my exam on monday. But once I'm done I'll be back to doing more stuff here, hopefully ❤️

I like him, hes not one of my top favorite Borderlands characters but he's fun and honestly I think one of the better written characters

him and wainwright have such a healthy relationship, and it's so well written like you get they're in love and why they love each other from the breif time they have togehter, I do like how in the dlc handled their relationship and how both of them felt like maybe they might not work out but realizing these anxieties are wrong we're great together

I wish his relationship with Aurelia got more time to devlope, in the pre-sequel Aurelia has death lines where she calls for him and says "I'm sorry Alistor." this leans more towards Aurelia but I wish they got a chance to really mend their relationship in bl3 but Aurelia was...written like that in bl3 which sucks

7. what books have shaped the way you think about writing the most? why?

My little lit major heart always appreciates these types of questions lol

Gloria Anzaldua’s Borderlands/La Frontera changed the way I viewed writing period, she shifts between excellent personal essays to poetry to historical creative non fiction pieces and it showed me how powerful it is to embrace not just changing style, but topics - while still keeping it all personal (if that makes sense lol)

Even now if I get worried about writing a new character or even new story type I just think of how much power and freedom we have just getting to write new things like in her book and it’s so comforting

23. what do you do to engage with your projects which isn’t actually writing? ex: playlists, pinterest boards, etc. how much do they play a role in the development of your work?

So music/playlist are a big help with getting more engaged in a project but I’m also such a sucker for rewatching things lol

Like the best way I get back into a G*** writing mode is rewatching the jjk movie 🫣

And rewatching the media I’m writing for honestly plays a huge role in fic development, the way I’m dabbling possibly writing for Haikyuu, rewatching the series has helped so much in not just getting back at understanding the characters but knowing the game style as well!

I. favourite colours: Pink, in most varieties. I like bright colors most often, esp paired with black. But I think pink is one of the colors were I'm not picky on shade or w/e so I'd say it's a contender for favorite.

II. favourite flavours: I'm a sucker for most anything sweet but I love chocolate & peanut butter together.

III. favourite genres: Fantasy or sci fi. Most of the books or series I get into fall into either category. I like media that imagines other worlds or even other variants of our world like modern fantasy or speculative fiction.

IV. favourite music: I have a lot of variety in my music playlists, like anything from broadway to metal. Most of the artists I listen to are somewhere in the rock genre, lots of indie, alternative or hard rock/metal. But I also like some pop, I've been listening to a lot of indie/alt pop recently.

V. favourite movies: Admittedly, I don't watch a lot of movies. But favorites or ones I've seen several times would probs be Repo! The Genetic Opera, Captain America 2, or Spirited Away.

VI. favourite series: TV series? Criminal Minds. Anime series, probs D Gray Man, Cowboy Bebop, or Yu Yu Hakusho.

Delta Green: Impossible Landscapes (Session 10 of 12) Shane runs for Blake Ryan, Brandon Brylawski, Mark (he/they), and Puckett The agents, badly hurt and fleeing the recent ambush, hope to find comfort and safety at the Dorchester House. But the hospital has secrets and dangers of its own.

The Mecha Hack: Ares Station Q (Session 1) Anya Reyes runs for Bryan, Steven S., and Travis Allison Today in Roleo Time, another game in English, we play The Mecha Hack! a game about pilots trapped in the middle of a war in an unknown planetary system. The Pilots have been stationed for a few months at Ares Outpost Q, the farthest outpost on the planet protecting a series of Transparent Aluminum mines, material used by the Collective to create much of the galactic infrastructure. But they are not alone, Kaiju lurk everywhere.

The Mecha Hack: Ares Station Q (Session 2) Anya Reyes runs for Bryan, Steven S., and Travis Allison The Pilots are sent to deal with a Kaiju nest nearby to Station Q. During the attack several of the eggs hatch and start to fight back, costing blood, oil and steel to the pilots. Meanwhile a mysterious sound announces something is about about to show up over the heads of the Pilots.

Star Trek: Fate of the Quadrant (Session 5) Alun R. runs for Lowell Francis, Paul Rivers, and Will H Personal Log - Stardate 48301.6 - Lieutenant Keenec Reporting: We've been at Gamma 7 for nearly a week for re-supply prior to embarking on our patrol of the Delera Sector. I've spent the time recalibrating the micro-settlement circuits in the food replicators, which seem fine to me. I've also had a chance to work with the team studying a recently recovered Dilithium-Herbert-Matrix that resembles the Horta contacted by the USS Enterprise and could be a new sentient species. Unfortunately, I got a little over-excited and the team asked me to leave. There's a 'difficult' local commander, a group of Bajoran religious dissidents, and a memorial service for the loss of the USS Intrepid over a century before. Then...territorial Tzenkethi; a deeply disturbing subspace signal; and eight (currently quiescent) threats...

Free from the Shadow: Samurai Fantasy (Session 2) Lowell Francis runs for Cale P, Elle, Mike Minutillo, and Sherri We see the clans enact some of their first moves, working to establish influence and gather resources to cover their shortfalls. Then the four protagonists join together, for many different reasons, to find out information about the vanishings plaguing the borderlands and locate a missing shugenja for the Azalea Crow clan.

Girl By Moonlight: Divine Engines (Session 2) Lowell Francis runs for Ethan Harvey, Patrick Knowles, Sherri, and Tyler Lominack The alarm sounds as a new Leviathan approaches the Last Bastion. Our heroes scramble, the first test for this new configuration. Will the new pilot survive? Will Tav reveal that he is not person they knew? How will Manon handle battling a divinely necro-tized version of her lost homeworld?

Solar Blades and Cosmic Spells (Session 2) Rich Rogers runs for Anders, Ethan Harvey, Sherri, and Steven Watkins The raiders are defeated, but a greater threat is uncovered.

Off-Calendar Highlights

Heroes of the Hearth: Fresh Faces (Session 2 of 2) Madelancholy runs for Paul D. and Rob Fletcher The townsfolk hear from their loved ones and of their failures in the distant battle, and secrets are revealed as the threat nears. We close out characters in this two-shot's conclusion.

Hearts of Camelot: Once and Forever (Session 4) Madelancholy runs for Chris Greenbriar, David Miessler-Kubanek, and Rod Santos Sir Bertilak offers the terms of the favor in return for his hospitality, and Ydelles makes an incredible counteroffer. Sir Elio and Sir Granit react with surprise and dismay at their friend's acceptance of changed fate. The characters continue their knightly path in their own ways in this next episode of David Adrian Randall's hack of Hearts of Wulin, Arthurian-style!

All Rika wanted was to grab a book from the libaray. Should have been a simple task, but all she did was blink and, all at once, she was alone. All the people she'd been slipping her way through were gone in an instant. Suddenly alone and without any electricity, cell signal, or hearing aid, Rika began the search for others in this alternate Tokyo, desperate to find anyone. Soon enough she stumbled upon, and won, her first game, beginning to learn the rules of the Borderland. But the basics weren't enough for her - she wanted to understand how, and why, she was here. So when a man calling himself the Hatter invites her to a place called the Beach, touting its luxurious lifestyle and goal to collect all the cards, Rika is quick to take him up on his offer. But the Beach is dangerous for a woman, especially one who's hard of hearing, and Rika quickly decides she needs someone to be her ears, to want to protect her with her limitations. Seducing the stoic military leader Aguni is a strategic choice, with his high standing and close relationship with the Hatter. But when she starts to notice Chishiya around the Beach, he piques her interest in a way no one else has. When she approaches Kuina and him about being a double agent so they can steal the cards and get out themselves, the two are surprised but accept her offer. Working with Chishiya bring up unbidden emotions, feelings she can't risk showing when she's with Aguni. But when it comes down it, all Rika wants is to get back home and she'll do whatever it takes to get back there. No matter who's in her way.

Currently Reading: mainly rereading the Monster Manga series by Naoki Urasawa. It's a very good series and I'm just basking in its glory.

Currently Watching: West World Season 4 (its very good so far), rewatching Person of Interest (we're on season 1 and it's as fantastic as its always been) and rewatching Good Omens (still a sublime experience)

Current Obsessions: to my chagrin, my brain has decided to refixate on some games of mine: Detroit Become Human and Tales from the Borderlands. I cannot begin to guess why. 😹

🎶 Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately? I listen to music constantly when I'm writing. It's so inspiring and my mood shifts with each playlist. I often listen to various playlists on Spotify like Love Songs of different music eras ranging from things long before I was born to modern hits. It just depends on the mood I'm running with. I wouldn't say the song is in my writing loop, but I have listened to Good Times by Sam Medina https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rj5UT-3Nurc lately because we watched Alice in Borderland a couple of weeks ago and it was the one song that they kept playing throughout the series and it was catchy in that respect. Any time I'm in a writing slump or a down mood my sister will throw that on and it makes me smile because it's just catchy lol.
