Got nothin much to do, so i thought to make a lil list of recommendations for niche indie games that i think deserve more recognition.

1) YOMI Hustle

This one might not be quite your cup of tea, as it is a lil complicated. Basically, its a turn based fighting game where you play frame by frame for every actionable frame, kinda like a TAS battle. Its full of strategy and predictions, and the combo engineering is intuitive and very fun The controls might look confusing at first, but watching a few youtube tutorials will help. The cream of the crop, though, are the replays. Once one of the players win, the entire match is played back in real time, and it almost always looks cool as hell. Just watch:

This, of course, is a choreographed battle, but real ones dont look a bit less cooler that this, and trust me, youll be able to do the same, too, so go buy it.

2) Bopl battle

Veeery niche platform fighter one tap party game. You play as little blop guys trying to eliminate the other blops using your arsenal of handpicked abilities. Those abilities range from simple bows and rockets, to platform creation and literal time stop. You can use those abilities to either kill your oponents outright, manipulate the platforms of the stage or do some other crazy stuff. Theres a free demo up on steam, too, so you can go try a little piece of the cake right now! Super fun and super creative, you should definitely try it out.

3) Neon White

Do you like Ultrakill? Then you Have to play this game. Its a speed-oriented movement fps that literaly makes you feel like a speedrunner. You might find the dialouges cringe, but thats kinda the fun of it, knowing that all those lines were written with the utmost intention of giving you a laugh.

The soundtrack by Machinegirl realy ties this masterpiece together, too. Overall, its a fun, satisfying experience thats soooo worth the purchase in my opinion.

4) Chants of Senaar

Havent personally played this one, but am planning to. Its a very atmospheric, very innovative puzzle game where you have to uncipher languages unknown to you through context clues and deduction. Super dope art style, super dope gimmick, super dope game. Go try it out, you wont regret it.

usually when i play games all day i have a sort of icky feeling. i feel like i've done less than i could have. never know what to write about on those days. but i today i played two different games with my brother and some mutual friends.

Don't Starve Together is a hardcore cooperative survival game set in a bizarre and hostile world. usually it features a gritty revival system where you have to sacrifice health to bring your companions back from the dead- but we were playing with a larger group and some newer players, so we opted for the more casual format: free revives at a fixed spawnpoint. i decided to set up my camp away from the other players, which was a refreshing change- usually in this game the survivors' fates are so closely linked that it would be foolish not to band together. there were always people wandering by to trade with me and steal my potatoes and admire my baby birds when they hatched- and i got to watch the cataclysmic collapse of their main base from a safe distance. i had a blast.

Bopl Battle is a (free!) party game where goofy lil blobs use three physics-based synergistic abilities to brawl on 2D floating islands. it encourages creativity and is an excellent casual arena battler for humans of all ages. but the three of us play it competitively. well, i should say my brother and our friend play it competitively. they each have loadouts of three individually powerful abilities which they hone into a deadly fighting style. i prefer to set up silly combos and laugh when they work. there were some balance changes last week which mixed up their favorite strategies- my friend's combo was nerfed, my brother's was buffed. didnt stop the friend from pummeling us with his unnatural reflexes until 3 in the morning

maybe its okay to do "nothing" all day if "nothing" is doing things that bring you genuine joy

i cannot recommend bopl battle enough. it's buggy as hell and it is one of the most fun experiences i've had ever playing a multiplayer game. imagine how much better it could be with people supporting it. PLEAAAAAASE buy bopl battle i love this game so much

Hidden Gems to Play With Friends When someone makes a post about games to play with friends, it's pretty much always the same recommendations: Deep Rock Galactic; Minecraft; Terraria; Vermintide; Left 4 Dead; etc... However, my group and I have been playing video-games together for over a decade now, since most of us were pretty much toddlers, and we've had our time to play most of the games people often recommend in theses posts.Recently we've been having fun playing Dungeonborne, have been playing during the Alpha/Beta tests of The Hexadome: Aristeia Showdown and, while the game itself is wildly popular, we've also popped back into our Seamless Co-Op Elden Ring save and have been playing through the DLC bit by bit. Bopl Battle is also a fun time for when you just shut off your brain and play something for a little bit.Are there any hidden gem multiplayer games you'd personally recommend? Whether they be Early Access, fully released, Indie, AAA, whatever. As long as it isn't the same dozen games everyone always recommends.
