In 1 month I will be starting a part time job (i go to uni) and will be able to afford a gym membership. Until then I’m trying to figure out my diet.
I’ve researched food, that boost your metabolism.
Food that boosts your metabolism
1. All kinds of vegetables !!
- cucumber is a superfood: your body burns more calories digesting it than the cucumber has.
- tomato: is yummy and you can make all kinds of salats or sauces with fresh tomatoes.
- corn: yummy fills you up for a while quite well. It has a small amout of calories but a big amount of protein and fiber (both boost your metabolism)
- carrots: contain pectin, which boost fat oxidation. also keeps you full with a small amount of calories.
- chickpeas, also a super food: small amount of calories, a lot of fiber and vitamins
2. Food that contains a lot of protein
protein keeps you full for a longer amount of time.
cottage cheese, a SUPERFOOD: so yum, so little calories, so much protein, so little fat.
fish (tuna/salmon/trout): a lot of protein and healthy fats that actually boost fat oxidation.
greek yogurt: yummy (try it with honey) and a lot of protein (+you can add yogurt to so many meals and it makes a great sauce)
3. all kinds of fruit.
banana: contains fibers that keep you feeling full for a long time. contributes well to losing weight.
apple: contains pectin. keeps your blood sugar in tact, keeping you from binging on sweets.
grapes: yum. and like a lot of other fruits fat free!
avocado: contains more calories than most fruit, but also healthy fats that speed up fat oxidation in your body.
4. vinegar
apple-vinegar: boosts fat oxidation and keeps you feeling full.
___
yesterday I only ate food that boost my metabolism and I dropped 2kg without exercising.
+ I wasn’t starving. I ate soo much food and it made me drop weight ???
I will update once I’ve done more research

The Hidden Benefits of Eating CHILLI You Never Knew Existed 🌶️
Chillies, often seen as just a way to spice up your food, are actually packed with amazing health benefits that many people overlook. These fiery little peppers are more than just heat; they’re a powerhouse of nutrients that can positively impact your body and mind. Let's dive into the hidden benefits of eating chilli that you might not know about!
Boosts Metabolism 🔥 Chillies contain a compound called capsaicin, which is responsible for their heat. Capsaicin helps boost your metabolism by increasing the rate at which your body burns fat. Regular consumption can assist in weight management and fat loss.
Reduces Inflammation 🌿 Capsaicin also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce inflammation in your body. This makes chilli a potential natural remedy for conditions like arthritis and muscle pain.
Promotes Heart Health ❤️ Studies have shown that eating chillies can help reduce blood cholesterol, triglycerides, and platelet aggregation. This means that consuming chillies may lower the risk of heart disease and promote overall cardiovascular health.
Improves Digestion 🌱 Contrary to popular belief, chilli peppers can actually improve digestion by stimulating gastric juices, which help in breaking down food. It also helps in preventing acid reflux by regulating the flow of digestive acids.
Rich in Vitamins and Antioxidants 💥 Chillies are loaded with vitamins, especially Vitamin C, which is essential for maintaining a healthy immune system. Additionally, they are packed with antioxidants, which help fight free radicals in the body and reduce the risk of diseases like cancer.
Natural Pain Relief 🌟 Capsaicin in chillies is known to act as a natural pain reliever. It’s used in many topical creams to relieve pain from conditions like arthritis, muscle strains, and joint pain. It works by desensitizing pain receptors in the area.
Elevates Mood 😊 Eating chillies triggers the release of endorphins, the "feel-good" hormones, which can help reduce stress and boost your mood. This makes chilli a great food for keeping anxiety and depression at bay.
Next time you add some chilli to your meal, remember that it’s not just about the flavour—it’s also about giving your body a boost in health! 🌶️💪

Discover the Top 10 Foods to Boost Your Metabolism
Tumblr media
Are you struggling with persistent weight gain despite your best efforts? Tired of feeling sluggish and drained? You’re not alone. Many people face these challenges, often feeling stuck in a cycle of ineffective diets and exhausting workouts. But what if there were simple, natural ways to rev up your metabolism and boost your energy levels?
In this blog, we'll uncover the top 10 foods that boost metabolism and provide practical tips for incorporating them into your daily routine. These foods can help you burn calories more efficiently, feel more energetic, and even support weight loss.
1. Green Tea
Green Tea is well-known for its metabolism-boosting properties. It contains antioxidants called catechins, particularly EGCG, which can help increase your metabolic rate. Green tea also has caffeine, which can enhance fat burning.
Benefits: Green tea boosts metabolism and aids in fat burning, increasing calorie burning by about 4% over 24 hours.
Incorporation Tips: Drink a cup of green tea in the morning or early afternoon. Enjoy it as a refreshing iced tea. Try to drink 2-3 cups per day.
2. Coffee
Coffee is another great drink that can boost your metabolism. The caffeine in coffee stimulates the central nervous system, increasing your metabolic rate and providing a quick energy boost.
Benefits: Coffee increases metabolism and enhances fat burning. Research indicates caffeine can boost metabolic rate by 3-11%, depending on the amount consumed.
Incorporation Tips: Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. Be mindful not to add too much sugar or cream, as these can add unnecessary calories. Drinking coffee before a workout can also enhance your performance.
3. Chili Peppers
Chili Peppers contain capsaicin, which can help boost your metabolism by increasing the rate at which your body burns calories. Capsaicin can also reduce appetite, helping you eat less throughout the day.
Benefits: Chili peppers increase calorie burning and may help control appetite. Studies suggest they can boost metabolic rate by up to 50 calories per day.
Incorporation Tips: Add chili peppers to your meals for a spicy kick. Include them in soups, stews, salads, and stir-fries. If you’re not a fan of spicy food, start with small amounts and gradually increase as you get used to the heat.
4. Plant-Based Protein
Plant-based protein sources like lentils, chickpeas, tofu, and quinoa are excellent for boosting metabolism. Protein has a high thermic effect, meaning your body uses more energy to digest it compared to fats and carbohydrates.
Benefits: Plant-based proteins help build and repair tissues, support muscle growth, and increase the number of calories your body burns during digestion.
Incorporation Tips: Add legumes to your salads, soups, and stews. Use tofu or tempeh in stir-fries or as a meat substitute in your favorite dishes. Quinoa can be used as a base for salads or as a side dish.
5. Spinach
Spinach is a leafy green vegetable packed with essential nutrients and antioxidants. It can help boost your metabolism due to its high iron content, which aids in the production of red blood cells and improves oxygen transport throughout the body.
Benefits: Spinach helps increase metabolic rate by supporting healthy blood flow and muscle function. It is also rich in fiber, which aids in digestion and keeps you feeling full longer.
Incorporation Tips: Add spinach to your salads, smoothies, or omelets. Use it as a base for soups or incorporate it into pasta dishes and stir-fries.For a comprehensive guide on all ten metabolism-boosting foods and more practical tips, visit our detailed blog on Yuvaap.
